273.420000 278.740000 I remember somebody trying to frame my world in a high school, it was my home room teacher

278.740000 282.460000 and my 12th grade year at the end of the year were getting ready to graduate.

282.460000 289.420000 She said, son, you're a good guy, but you're a bad student, go to work, don't go to college.

291.020000 295.260000 I love to see her today and let her know I've got to earn doctorate.

297.260000 302.980000 Because people are always trying to frame your world.

302.980000 310.460000 You've got to decide if you're going to allow the spirit of the world to frame you.

310.460000 316.460000 When I was 14, 15 years old, I battled crippling anxiety.

316.460000 322.140000 I would take zeroes before I would get up and do an oral presentation in school.

322.140000 328.020000 This anxiety came from a dysfunctional family and before you point the finger, we all come

328.020000 330.340000 from dysfunctional families.

330.340000 333.460000 Some are just more dysfunctional than others.

334.460000 339.580000 That's why Jesus came to earth to work out the dysfunction that's put in all of humanity

341.060000 343.540000 But in my family, I could never live up.

343.540000 348.420000 My dad was very verbally and emotionally abusive to his kids.

349.420000 354.300000 He's a great guy and he's in heaven, but come to find out that's the way he was raised.

354.300000 360.220000 How many of you know sometimes patterns just keep going until somebody breaks them.

362.100000 366.100000 I don't like that term because Jesus came to redeem us from the curse.

366.100000 371.180000 I call them patterns that have to be broken through the power of the Holy Spirit and the

374.900000 379.700000 And so these patterns have to be broken and because of the dysfunction in my family, I began

379.700000 383.300000 to suffer from panic attacks and I would go outside.

383.300000 385.300000 I would feel like I was suffocating.

391.140000 394.780000 If you've never felt that before, they are real.

399.180000 407.020000 What caused those in my life was the framing of my life by negative circumstances and situations

408.860000 414.540000 So my mom took me to the doctor one day and he began to talk to me and he kept talking and

414.540000 418.180000 he kept talking and he knew I was having trouble breathing.

418.180000 421.000000 And I talked to him and I was holding this conversation.

421.000000 425.200000 At the end of that, he said, "Son, there's nothing wrong with you physically.

425.200000 429.900000 It's all emotionally and you're suffering from panic attacks.

429.900000 434.420000 You're suffering from anxiety and worry."

434.420000 442.940000 And from that moment on, because I knew my reality, I located where I was from that moment

442.940000 451.560000 on, God gave me grace to get out of that anxiety and to no longer have anxiety attacks, but

455.740000 460.020000 I had to reframe my thoughts."

461.020000 467.300000 I was saved at five years old Long Island, New York, in assembly God church.

467.300000 472.220000 I was a Christian, but I was suffering from anxiety.

476.380000 483.660000 But from that moment on, God began to teach me that I could saturate my worry with worship,

488.420000 495.500000 I could get into God's word and it would become a warfare and an instrument that God would

497.980000 503.620000 How do I know that because a Psalmist said, "Perfect peace have they which love thy law and nothing

505.500000 511.660000 I began to understand that the peace of God could rule and reign in my heart.

611.100000 618.820000 I believe we are living in the age of overload, that we've got too much on our plate.

623.940000 628.580000 I've come to realize that the reason we're so anxious because we've had government officials

633.980000 638.180000 Climate change has been perpetrated on us.

638.180000 646.180000 But we need to save Mother Earth, and we can't even lose three pounds.

654.700000 658.980000 God had to send his son because we couldn't save ourselves, and we spend our lives trying

658.980000 663.860000 to save our spouse, trying to save our kids, trying to save society, trying to save Mother

663.860000 670.700000 Earth, and that overwhelms us, and man, it makes us anxious.

670.700000 673.940000 Paul writes this letter called Philippians.

675.100000 679.740000 He wrote it anywhere from 60 to 62 AD.

679.740000 686.620000 Prison epistle is called that because while he was in prison in Rome, he changed to a soldier.

687.620000 692.180000 He writes Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, and Falemen.

692.180000 700.940000 He's writing this book to some Jesus people in a Jesus community in Macedonia.

729.580000 735.740000 Just the very thought of that gives us some secrets to where Paul found his joy.

735.740000 749.340000 Verse four says this, rejoice in the Lord when, rejoice in your job, rejoice in your spouse,

749.340000 754.540000 rejoice in your fortune, your fame, rejoice in your friends.

754.540000 757.180000 No, he locates our joy for us.

757.180000 768.500000 He says, rejoice in the Lord, rejoice in the Lord.

768.500000 775.740000 That word rejoice is in a verb form that doesn't actually mean just a burst of joy or a

1065.220000 1072.740000 Did you know you can actually speak to your soul, your mind, your will, your emotions, be

1080.740000 1086.620000 He said prayer, petition, petition is another form of prayer, it's asking God.

1264.860000 1272.900000 The thought that comes into my mind creates an attitude that attitude becomes a behavior.

1272.900000 1277.860000 That's why Paul, speaking to the church at Corinth, he said, take every thought captive

1277.860000 1284.620000 to the obedience of Christ, every thought, say every thought, where do thoughts come from?

1284.620000 1288.580000 They come from my flesh, they come from the enemy, or they come from God.

1288.580000 1294.720000 I have to take every thought captive and begin to say, is this God's thought or a thought

1294.720000 1298.500000 of my negative flesh or a thought that comes from the devil or the world?

1298.500000 1304.020000 And when I do that, I keep the God's thoughts and I let all those other thoughts go.

1304.020000 1309.460000 That's when I begin to begin to take responsibility for my own life.

1309.460000 1314.060000 See, we're constantly praying to God and asking God to do something that he's empowered

1323.140000 1331.140000 Paul said this, he's living in this world that's very perverse.

1331.140000 1336.460000 Do you think our nations perverse, do you think the nations of the world, world is perverse?

1336.460000 1343.380000 You gotta understand, Paul was living in a time that was very perverse sexually.

1343.380000 1349.580000 And he speaks to the Roman church at Romans 12 verse 2, he says this, do not be conformed

1354.980000 1359.900000 He's saying, don't allow the world to put you into its frame of thinking, its pattern

1371.460000 1377.020000 The greatest thing you can do after you come to Christ for salvation is to allow God's

1399.020000 1405.220000 The gospel is not just keeping you out of hell, it's making your life an abundant life

1428.980000 1436.460000 I have come to the conclusion that religion has anocculated many people from the real thing.

1436.460000 1444.980000 Jesus, see we must understand the person of Jesus gives us eternal life, applying

1444.980000 1452.020000 the principles of Jesus gives us abundant life, meaning that I can have eternal life and

1452.020000 1458.420000 live my whole life on earth in hell and get to heaven and be saved and stand before Jesus

1459.420000 1463.740000 And Jesus said, I gave you eternal life, but I wanted you to possess abundant life, why

1467.780000 1479.420000 It's because we never understand the transformation of the mind, that the mind is very important.

1479.420000 1486.620000 He told Nicodemus, you must be born again, if you're born again and you become saved, you're

1494.220000 1499.940000 This is the problem, I'm born into a new kingdom but I try to bring the old value system into

1499.940000 1505.260000 the new way of living and it doesn't work.

1505.260000 1511.300000 Thus I'm frustrated and I never live the overcoming life because I'm trying to live in a new

1511.300000 1516.900000 kingdom with old values that come from the kingdom of darkness.

1516.900000 1522.340000 So I have to have something that begins to change the way I think, I'm going to give you

1524.740000 1529.940000 If you're going to change the way you think, you need number one information, say information.

1529.940000 1532.740000 I'm not talking about just any information.

1532.740000 1537.620000 The book of Daniel prophesies to us that in the last days there would be a literal knowledge

1539.460000 1545.180000 Did you know everything you want to know, whatever one to know and might need to know, is in

1545.180000 1550.380000 the palm of your hand called a smart device.

1550.380000 1559.820000 That is a good thing but it's become very problematic because we think the smart device is God and

1559.820000 1566.620000 we think information is the same as wisdom.
