Discernment | The Most Practical Gift of the Spirit

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I see people using phones holding their fingers up here.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what's going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: So first Corinthians 12 and Hebrews five, first Corinthians 12, Hebrews five.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna read these and then we'll preach.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're watching the preaching online today, I do want to welcome you to what we have going on here.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you normally tune in, you're probably used to seeing some stuff that is behind me, but over the next few weeks, this whole room is going to kind of go into some chaos and disorder.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so as you tune in and watch these messages online, you're going to see some things behind me that aren't so appealing, but hang with me for three or four weeks.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we promise it's going to go to a whole, another level, everybody shout, hold another level.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you shouted that online too, amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: 1 Corinthians chapter 12, starting in verse 8, it says, for to one is given through the spirit, the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge, according to the same spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: To another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: To another, the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another,

[SPEAKER_00]: various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues, and these are empowered by the one and the same spirit who oppressions to each according individually as he wills.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Hebrews chapter 5, if you'll flip over there, Hebrews 5 verse 14, but solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody say, powers of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

[SPEAKER_00]: Today, I want to talk to you on what first Corinthians 12 calls in the ESV, it says the distinguishing of spirits, but most of your Bibles probably call the discerning of spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk to you about the discerning of spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: Last week, we talked about prophecy.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I know some of y'all were just too busy with money growl for that, but I'm glad.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm playing, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know you all watched it online and listened to the podcast to make up for it a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: But last week, I explained that prophecy is this big umbrella that a lot of what we see in first Corinthians 12 operates under.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have a tendency in the church to preach.

[SPEAKER_00]: First Corinthians 12, this list of the gifts of the Spirit as if it's an exhaustive list.

[SPEAKER_00]: As if these are the nine things that the Holy Spirit gives to the church.

[SPEAKER_00]: But in reality, these are just an ad hoc list.

[SPEAKER_00]: These are things that are off the cuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's an argument that Paul is making and you say, hey, these are just some examples of things that

[SPEAKER_00]: are happening when the Spirit of God enables people to do certain things.

[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of the things in the list, like knowledge, wisdom, faith, discerning of spirits, they all fall under this prophetic umbrella.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what I want you to hear, though.

[SPEAKER_00]: Out of that list, the things that he mentions, the discerning of spirits may possibly be the most pragmatic and the most profitable,

[SPEAKER_00]: shade of prophetic for your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even though it's a type of prophetic gift, the discerning of spirits is something that can help you immensely.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of my concerns in the ministry of the pulpit in the church at large is that there is such a separation between here and the pew.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm old, so I got that pew in me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna call them chairs in Jesus' name, name it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a separation between the pulpit and the pew.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a different lived experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of times pastors get up and they'll preach stuff from the word, but they only have it in a preacher paradigm.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's almost difficult to release into the people in the pew.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let me give you an instance of what I'm talking about here.

[SPEAKER_00]: You'll see this sometimes with prosperity preachers, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, everybody who I know who gets up and talks about money, all my preacher buddies, they get up and they say, I don't believe that prosperity gospel.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like I need to give that disclaimer.

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ will make you prosperous.

[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I say it like this, Jesus makes life incredible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at the person next, he said, Jesus makes life incredible.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there is an issue sometimes with prosperity preachers, is that when you are preaching a prosperous gospel, which I believe is true, but you are predisposed for people to give you things.

[SPEAKER_00]: It shades your ability, not for it to be true or not.

[SPEAKER_00]: It shades your ability to paint a picture for people in the pew to actually live out an experience that would be a reality for them versus the reality for a preacher.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that this is gonna happen anytime soon, but I have more of a disposition because of what I do for someone to come in and go, I wanna give you an airplane.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure I was trying to look at that person in the eyes on the camera this morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have my life is more predestined because someone could go, I want to help the gospel go quickly, I want you to travel, I want you to preach, I want you to get home on Sunday and someone could just hand me an airplane.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is very unlikely that if you own a drywall company that someone is going to come up to you and go, I just feel like I need to give you an airplane.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a different type of prosperity.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when prosperity is always airplanes and big gifts in $10,000 checks, well yeah, $10,000 checks when you're a minister, they do show up for what you do around December 27th.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're birthday, but not for your birthday, for tax reasons, that stuff shows up.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when we get out here and we start talking, we have a $10,000 miracle come through in the ministry.

[SPEAKER_00]: little more routine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Does that make sense?

[SPEAKER_00]: But when you show up and we just get a check in the mail for us personally because the insurance helped my money for seven years for some reason, that's a tangible miracle you can experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen?

[SPEAKER_00]: So what I want to do is I talk through this this morning is I want to make sure that I don't shade this in a way that only works for the preacher.

[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't about spirits being at least in the church, the attitudes of people or heck, even people who don't like this preacher.

[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, if I had a nickel for everybody who didn't like me, I wouldn't even have to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be, that's just par for the course.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to make sure this is going to be helpful for you, because the discerning of spirits is the most pragmatic and profitable thing mentioned in this list.

[SPEAKER_00]: For instance, God writes Solomon a blank check.

[SPEAKER_00]: God tells Solomon he says, I'll do anything for you that you want me to do for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: He could ask for anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: He could ask for money.

[SPEAKER_00]: He could ask for influence.

[SPEAKER_00]: He could ask for wisdom.

[SPEAKER_00]: He could ask for an airplane.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just today's going to be about airplanes.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the subtext of discerning of spirits and your aircraft of choice.

[SPEAKER_00]: In Jesus name.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he could ask for anything, but this is what he asked for.

[SPEAKER_00]: First King's chapter three.

[SPEAKER_00]: First King's chapter three says this, give your servant, therefore, an understanding mine to govern your people, what that I may discern between good and evil.

[SPEAKER_00]: for who is able to govern this great people of yours.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there is a question here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Out of this request, the Lord says, I will give you everything else.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the question.

[SPEAKER_00]: Does he ask for discernment and the Lord gives him everything else supernaturally or does he ask for discernment out of the discernment flows everything else?

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you all hear what I'm saying this morning?

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, I'm just got to own it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel a little thrown off because of the ring.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what's going on with that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Could you just pull my fader down a little bit?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what else we can do.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, a lot of pastors will blame the media people.

[SPEAKER_00]: It isn't their fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's my fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I held the microphone better, maybe I'd do it like this for the rest of the service.

[SPEAKER_00]: This will go viral on the internet.

[SPEAKER_00]: I should just read the next scripture this way and we'll get some hits.

[SPEAKER_00]: Say, man, praise the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, did it flow from the discernment?

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it did.

[SPEAKER_00]: A man.

[SPEAKER_00]: So discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let me explain it to you this way.

[SPEAKER_00]: discernment is the mechanism that helps you understand what is happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody say what?

[SPEAKER_00]: What is happening?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Something is happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody say why?

[SPEAKER_00]: And when, everybody say, when, when something will or should happen, discernment can tell you when something's going to come about or when something should come about.

[SPEAKER_00]: It can give you instruction on when you ought to make a move or you can read off a somebody when they're going to do something.

[SPEAKER_00]: discernment can tell you what is happening, why something is happening, and when something will happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Kenneth Hagen, Pop Hagen, Dad Hagen, he said this concerning the discerning of spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said it's a supernatural insight into the realm of spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: Seeing into the spirit world, it covers divine spirits, evil spirits, and the human spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not discernment of devils only, it's not fault-finding, and it's not psychological insight, it's not mental penetration.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is, it is a supernatural gift, the discerning of spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I will tell you this, that there is typically a blend anywhere that a supernatural gift is an operation in a person.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is typically a blend of their natural inclinations involved.

[SPEAKER_00]: Profetic people have a tendency to have some prophetic tendencies.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: People who are able to discern are probably going to have some natural ability to discern.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all going to be supernatural.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a play.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a given take there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we can't look at it entirely spiritually.

[SPEAKER_00]: We do have to keep in mind that some people are naturally gifted in these ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the biggest issue that faces our churches, the Pentecostal church at large, around the power and presence of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: is actually not behavior, even though that's the thing I pick on the most, and I am aware of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason I do, I get amused by people who act goofy in pinnacles for churches.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's great.

[SPEAKER_00]: As long as it ain't happening here, I'm having a time and a half, I think it's great.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the issue in most pinnacles for churches by and large is not misbehavior, it's deception.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's people being deceived by bad teaching.

[SPEAKER_00]: That either comes by being, maybe, self-deceived, but oftentimes it's being deceived by a personality.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we need discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: First Corinthians chapter 12 says this, it says, you know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to mute idols.

[SPEAKER_00]: However, you were led.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd replace that however with a nevertheless.

[SPEAKER_00]: You were led astrite, never the last, you were led.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why were you led?

[SPEAKER_00]: Cause you didn't discern.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't discern what's going on with the teacher, you will be led astrite.

[SPEAKER_00]: So there are areas that discernment is very helpful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Couple of these areas, spiritual truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: evaluating teachers, moral judgment.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can just know what to do through discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Knowing God's will is discernible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Self-evaluation, knowing what's going on with yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: discernment helps with that, leading other people, just like Solomon discernment helps with leading people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Business decisions, investments, purchases, relational dynamics,

[SPEAKER_00]: dealing with your kids, dealing with your spouse, dealing with your boss, dealing with your employees, dealing with your co-workers.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can discern what's going on in relational dynamics.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll tell you this, some people even need discernment just for basic things like figuring out what on the internet is real and fake.

[SPEAKER_00]: It amazes me that I can go through Facebook and see somebody post something about fake news and be talking about Fox versus CNN.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then the next thing they post on the internet is something that is obviously not real.

[SPEAKER_00]: That anybody with half a brain could look at and go, that ain't real.

[SPEAKER_00]: The website is called this ain't real, it's just for fun.org and you've posted it like it's real.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need discernment on these things.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this morning I want to talk to you quickly about four types of discernment and we're going to end with the discernment that I really want to talk to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So these are four types of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: The first three are pragmatic.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I do want to just mention that last year at some point on a Wednesday night, I taught.

[SPEAKER_00]: on discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would really encourage you this week.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go back and watch that message if you can.

[SPEAKER_00]: I talked about it from a completely different angle, but I really believe it will help you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had the whiteboard out, so you know I was real smart when I did that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the whiteboard means.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you write it, draw on a whiteboard.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the first type of discernment is type one.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is peculiar discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody ever been in a situation like that?

[SPEAKER_00]: You're around somebody, you're around something, and all of a sudden somebody does something to you, yo.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's peculiar.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not normal, that's weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime that you sense this, you need to give it attention.

[SPEAKER_00]: When something seems weird and off, and somebody seems like to do and something weird and out of nowhere, now, when you discern this, this could be your husband playing in your birthday surprise.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, man.

[SPEAKER_00]: and you'll be watching him on live 360 and be going, why do you turn right out of the neighborhood and not left?

[SPEAKER_00]: He goes left every day.

[SPEAKER_00]: He might be going to pick you birthday present up, but never the last.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can notice, hey, that doesn't seem right.

[SPEAKER_00]: You could, if you're selling something on Facebook marketplace and somebody sends you a message and you go,

[SPEAKER_00]: That message felt weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's peculiar.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a strange, that question was weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was a weird thing to ask.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, peculiar, it's just, it's the first level of discernment, it's the first type of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody can do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you'll just pay attention, when something happens, you go, that felt weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't ignore that stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just peculiar, just peculiar.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a basic natural thing that everybody has.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little bit more involved.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is with individuals, typically individuals who you know in a deeper way, you have more intimate relationship with, at least you have more of a, you're around them a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you'll be mindful of these people that you know, you know them, you can start to recognize their patterns that will help you to predict

[SPEAKER_00]: the outcomes of what they're gonna do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It'll help you predict what their behaviors are gonna be.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you just watch their patterns, just keep an eye on their patterns.

[SPEAKER_00]: For instance, I've told you on my story a little bit, but I was raised in a house with two alcoholic parents.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I, a lot of times, I didn't know what I was going to be dealing with at the house.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know why I was going to be walking into.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now my dad and my mom were very different.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I know there are at least two different types of alcoholics in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like there's probably more, but I know there are two distinct categories.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I've watched both of them up close and personal.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so my mother was off the rails.

[SPEAKER_00]: You want to talk about a person who was completely gripped by this.

[SPEAKER_00]: She could not function in normal life.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was like she was compelled to this dysfunction.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it touched all these areas, but alcohol was a real grip on her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, when I was young, I didn't realize I was doing this.

[SPEAKER_00]: When I was young, I'm not talking about 17.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about six, seven, eight years old.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got to a point where I could almost, when she dropped me off for school.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't, I couldn't tell you what she was doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how I did it, but as a kid, I could do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could tell if the day was gonna go off the rails.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could sense it.

[SPEAKER_00]: early in the morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: She wouldn't be doing it, but there were enough patterns and indicators how she's answering questions, how she's processed, how she won't meet and get out the car, what she's talking about, how she's thinking, what music are we listening, whatever that is, I could pick up on it early in the morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you can do that with all kinds of people and all kinds of ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're just recognized there patterns, if you're just watch how people operate,

[SPEAKER_00]: You'll know that, well, hey, if they do one, I need to watch for two and if they do two and I watch for three, if they do those two things or those three things, I know they're going to do this tonight.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know this is how things are going to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just start to watch people's patterns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I will say, even though I use my mother as an example, sometimes the trouble zone is family.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because sometimes you won't be watching your family and that might be good.

[SPEAKER_00]: That might be for good that you aren't always what you do and now.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'd hate every time I cook spaghetti for actually to be going now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, hey, so I'm just gonna happen to not.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, no, he's cooking spaghetti again.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, no, so maybe you don't want that, but I will tell you, people who are close to you, it can be difficult to really perceive those patterns.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if you'll watch, it will help you in your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's peculiar discernment than pattern discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is kind of the high level of discernment, okay, in the natural realm.

[SPEAKER_00]: For natural discernment, this is high level discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: The third type is pallet discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, all three of these, these aren't so much levels, I'll probably say that, just it's in my vernacular, but these can all be used interchangeably, you know, in different people, so you pick and choose how you're using this and you develop it into your life, but palette discernment, palette discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs chapter 22 says this, it says the prudent, seas danger, and hides himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the simple go on and suffer for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, here's the thing, how do you see danger if you can't recognize danger?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I promise you that this passage right here is not written about people who go out and look at a tornado, even though I know where we're at, and I know y'all probably related to them people too when tornadoes are on the ground.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go out and watch it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just like to say, y'all, how many y'all related to that guy?

[SPEAKER_00]: I just like to sit on the front porch.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing an impression of somebody in my family.

[SPEAKER_00]: My wife knows that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, sit on the front porch when they come.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't either the sirens.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go out there.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody gonna pick that up on the internet.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's gonna make it's way too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not talking about that kind of danger.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not talking about doing that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about a danger that can only be perceived if you know what you're looking for.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about a danger, getting into a business deal, getting into a relationship, dealing with a certain type of person, being involved with a certain type of person, spending money on a certain type of thing, risking a certain amount of money on certain type of thing, talking about those things to see danger and know that it's danger so that you can avoid it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That requires a level of discernment, and that's why you need pallet discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: as you go through experiences in your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you see things play out over time.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can add colors to your palette.

[SPEAKER_00]: How many are member Bob Ross always started his show out by saying these are the colors?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, we're using silver fox and blue aqua.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so you got to build your palette of experiences.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when you start to see things, you can go, I've seen that before.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I've seen that before and it's on my palate.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then what you can do is you see those things that you have a pallet of, you can start to paint a picture.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you can predict what the future's going to hold.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the same way that it works with a pattern with an individual, you can also, with people you do not know well.

[SPEAKER_00]: With companies you do not know well, with people that you meet, you can just go, I just saw three things happen that I've seen before.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when this happens, this happens, this happens.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you, it's a pastor, one thing that we've just learned.

[SPEAKER_00]: If somebody goes from sitting here to sit in here, to sit in here, to sit in here, they are going there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just a pattern, just we've just seen it, it's just a palette.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the most pinnacle thing I've done since I've been here.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I just ought to get up here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll tell you right now, I feel like preaching.

[SPEAKER_00]: I never walked the aisles here, a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Take off and run next week, a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because we're an open, let's feel church.

[SPEAKER_00]: Holly, Leah, but you have a pilot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so when you do that, you'll be able to say, okay, well, I've seen this before.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen this before, I've seen this before, and so I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the board of the church has watched me do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: where we'll get into meetings and they'll bring stuff up and I'll say what hang on this happens, this happens, this happens, this happens, that's how it's going to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: The last church I was at, I was able to tell, I'd walk into meetings and something would come up and say this is what's going to happen, boom, boom, boom, and that's what would happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Palette.

[SPEAKER_00]: You see enough stuff, you get around enough, believe it or not, churches are very different and they're all the same.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime people leave churches because they think

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the lights look different on the stage.

[SPEAKER_00]: All the same people are over that other church too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go and be the same thing one place of the next.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so as you build your palette, you'll be able to see.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you do business deals, you do enough business deals, somebody walks in and they say, X, Y, and Z, you know what the outcome's going to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can say, this is what that is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I went into guitar center last week, or a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to grab this keyboard at guitar center.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I went in late at night right before they closed.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, hey, do you all have this in stock?

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, yes, I'll come back and get it tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I threw off this guy's palette because that's what people normally say when they don't argue by anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: They just won't come waste of sales per se time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now I showed up the next day.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was surprised.

[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, you came!

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, yeah, I know I threw you off last night because usually people ask those questions and they leave, they just want to touch something and they want to play it and not do anything with it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you do at music stores by the way you walk in there and grab the most expensive stuff and go, I think I might like this.

[SPEAKER_00]: $7,000 guitar that I'm never going to buy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Man, I just feel like having fun this morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little off the rails.

[SPEAKER_00]: My wife's grinning at me like you need to bring it home, amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you benefit from watching and observing how things tend to play out and repeat from situation to situation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs 24 tells us that this is what you ought to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says this in verse 30, it says, I passed by the field of a sluggard by the vineyard of a man lacking sense and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns.

[SPEAKER_00]: The ground was covered in nettles and its stone wall was broken down.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then I saw it.

[SPEAKER_00]: and consider it, and I look to receive instruction.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what pallet discernment does.

[SPEAKER_00]: It looks at what people do, the outcomes of what people do, it looks at how people behave, and what the outcome of that behavior is, and as they look at that stuff, they build those experiences up to predict outcomes.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's discernment, that's pallet level discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, if you needed to jump start,

[SPEAKER_00]: Building your palette, read the book of Proverbs, because that's basically everything that's in Proverbs.

[SPEAKER_00]: These are things that were perceived that produce certain outcomes.

[SPEAKER_00]: So read the book of Proverbs if you want to jump certain.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's the fourth level, or the fourth type of discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I really want to talk to you about this morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: Type number four is prophetic discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: So everything we've talked about just natural discernment so far.

[SPEAKER_00]: Type four is prophetic discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Last week, I mentioned when I was preaching that sometimes the apparent can block the prophetic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes the apparent can throw you off and not see prophetically into a situation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes the apparent can also block your discernment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes what seems obvious,

[SPEAKER_00]: can block your ability to discern especially naturally, and you can struggle to see, but if you can see into the spirit of a situation, if you can see what's going on behind the curtain, if you will, then you'll be able to not let the apparent fool you.

[SPEAKER_00]: There are moments they are rare, typically in church leadership.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty well able.

[SPEAKER_00]: This would apply for business or whatever you would apply this to.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm pretty well able to watch the way people behave and then figure out what they're going to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I usually do not have to go beyond the types of discernment that I have shared with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: On occasion, however, I will have an individual that I am dealing with.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they will be doing things that tell me I should be getting a certain type of result out of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the result I'm getting does not match how they're behaving.

[SPEAKER_00]: Does that make sense?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because there are principles that I typically can look at somebody and I can go, okay, well, if they do one, two, three, they're going to do XYZ.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just what's going to happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: However, on occasion, they'll do one, two, three, and I get HGF.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm getting some kind of, it doesn't match.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not sure why.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that not clicking?

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that not matching?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so this is when I have to drift into the gift of discernment, the ability to discern spirits, a prophetic insight into what's going on with people.

[SPEAKER_00]: I told you last week, prophecy is for everybody.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is for everybody.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody can ask the Lord for this and see into a situation and discern what is going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: For instance, I heard the story of a pastor one time says this says a man came to an alter during a service and the people started praying for him and he started bucking and kicking and flailing around.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the men of the church gathered around him started rebuking evil spirits and tried to hold him down assuming it was demonic.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the pastor watched everything go on, and then he just kind of calmly walked over.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he leaned over and he whispered in the man's ear.

[SPEAKER_00]: As soon as he did it, he stood up, straightened up, calm down, and walked out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone was amazed because of the pastor's authority over the evil spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: When the service was over, the head of the intercessory prayer team came to the pastor and said, what did you say to cast that devil out?

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, well, I just leaned over to him and said, how you're disrupting my service and if you don't stop them, we'll call the police.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because sometimes it ain't, you got to discern what's really going on because the apparent can block.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes if you're, for instance, if you're in any type of leadership in your job, you lead people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes people under you will be saying one thing to you, but something else is actually going on.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can prophetically discern that and not only help your organization win, but help that person win in the process.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you'll be able to prophesy and help those people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hebrews chapter five says this, we opened with this, it says, but solid foods for the mature for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to get that line there trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing when it comes to discerning spirits.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll give you a little insight into all of the spiritual gifts for a moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to be trained in the ability to distinguish between what you feel in the flesh and what you sense in the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to get very comfortable with knowing the difference between the flesh and the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: And let me tell you why the flesh will throw you off.

[SPEAKER_00]: The flesh will give you will sense a lot of things in the flesh.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not talking about your sinfulness.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking just about your human nature.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your human nature will read things wrongly that if you can get comfortable knowing the difference between the flesh and the spirit, trained by constant practice.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just have to practice this stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you can do this, you will be able to know surefire whether you've heard from the Spirit of God or where you've heard from yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: And here's what I want you to know, the flesh and the Spirit operate on a very similar wavelength because most of the things that you perceive in the Spirit will register in the flesh.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, generally, if something is off, it's gonna shoot through you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Generally, if somebody's about to get healed, it'll shoot through you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Generally, if you've got a word for somebody, it's gonna shoot through.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna have some physical sense that that's how you're gonna heighten, you're gonna lift a little bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is is that when you, the flesh is operating, that's the same thing that happens.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to be real careful.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you a real, I hope this is not a crude analogy, but I'm going to just tell you something that I noticed early on.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I was a worship leader for years.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I had a unique perspective for altar ministry, because I got to see it from the angle that nobody got to see it, me the preacher and the evangelist got to see it from up here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would watch, as we'd have evangelists come in,

[SPEAKER_00]: And I noticed something by the time I was 19 years old, 20 years old, that when these evangelists would come in and they would start to have words and knowledge and prophecy over people that these young, attractive girls in our churches.

[SPEAKER_00]: This wasn't one church, this wasn't one time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I saw this happen over and over and over again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the young attractive girls would get these really dramatic, prophetic words.

[SPEAKER_00]: To the point, I'm amazed that we don't have a whole division of assemblies of God, world missions, full of attractive women doing crusades in Africa, because I kept hearing stuff like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: God's calling you to stadiums, which let me just say something.

[SPEAKER_00]: God ain't ever called nobody to a stadium out of a church of 110 people.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm beyond not that people in a church of 110 people don't do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: but they do something else first.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could get off preaching on that, I need to stop, I gotta stay away from that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But so, I would see this happen where these young girls would get these prophetic words.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a few years later, I started to realize because I was seeing it all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Talking 17, 18, 19 year old, you know, I mean, if you had blonde hair and you were, you know, what five foot eight or something, you know, you were getting a word from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, man, guaranteed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I figured this out, that what would happen is these evangelists would come in and they would see these young, attractive girls

[SPEAKER_00]: The thing that happens when you see an attractive woman, there was Sunday night I'd just say it like it was.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey man!

[SPEAKER_00]: But that thing would come on them and they would sense, well, God obviously is going to do something special and so they would have this sense come over and it was actually just physical attraction.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we go, God's gonna move in your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna, you're called the stadiums in Africa.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and it would happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what had happened, these people had not trained themselves to sense the difference between the flesh and the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'll be honest with you, when I've had words of knowledge over people that God was about to do something in somebody's life, you feel that heightening.

[SPEAKER_00]: And part of this to train the flesh and the Spirit is you create some barriers that you just say, I'm not going to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll tell you, I pretty much, one of the barriers I've done or one of the things that I don't cross, I just don't process over younger tract of women.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just made that a route.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I watch people get it wrong so many times, I just stay off of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if God is calling the younger tract of women to do crusades in Africa, they're missing it in my meetings.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be balding an old, amen, to go to Africa with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing happens when you have a business deal and all of a sudden you have an opportunity, now I'm bringing it to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you have an opportunity to make a lot of money fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your discernment gets clouded, your decision-making gets clouded because I want to make that money fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to be trained to some degree to know the difference between the flesh I need money.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the spirit, I'm calm, cool, collected, and I have, I'm hearing from the spirit of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not aroused by this thing to a point that it clouds my memory or my judgment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you have to be trained in this.

[SPEAKER_00]: How do you do it?

[SPEAKER_00]: You get it wrong a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: You get it wrong a lot and you sense the spirit of the Lord, but over time what you do is you develop a muscle memory, the more you practice it.

[SPEAKER_00]: As well, I like this verse Hebrews five that says, it's trained by constant practice.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when I go up to the keyboard,

[SPEAKER_00]: I have to think about the words on Sunday morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: I really do, because I don't know a lot of songs we sing, they're new to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I can bust out a browns, I can do all of the Brownsville records for memory, hey man, but I can't do some of these new songs.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I have to think about the words.

[SPEAKER_00]: I read the words when I'm singing, because I don't know them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have to think about what my hands are doing at all, because I have muscle memory.

[SPEAKER_00]: my hands are trained.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just know where they're supposed to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, when you train yourself in the spiritual gifts, you start to just kind of know, I'm in the spirit, I'm in the flesh.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's just rubbing against me wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a prophetic thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the Holy Ghost.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then you can take the other levels of your value.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you gotta know the difference between the flesh and the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you can feel the difference, I'm telling you, you can be powerful.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this does have two sides to it, you can limit yourself by trying to make sure you don't get off into the flesh.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can limit yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if you'll get around environments, this is why I keep pushing that we want to have a real authentic move of the power of God in our church.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because did you know how they train people at the Treasury, the United States Treasury, to know the difference between real money and counterfeit money?

[SPEAKER_00]: They just have them handle real dollar bills over and over and over again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And whenever they touch something that's false, they know this isn't real.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is not, that just, that paper feels funny, that paper feels wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a constant exposure to the real thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we'll make sure we have a constant exposure to the real thing, amen?

[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing that when it comes to prophetic discernment, when you ask God for prophetic discernment, you have to be real careful, like I said, build you some guardrails, but here's what you really need to watch out for, is when you are under pressure or you feel emotional.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you're under pressure or you feel emotional, I'm going to give you an example that's going to get me crucified on the internet, and I might even lose some of y'all over this, but I'm going to say, because I think it's going to help you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just last year, in the last year, we saw a tragedy happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw Charlie Kirk assassinated on camera.

[SPEAKER_00]: And look, man, I'm going to tell you right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime stuff like this happens, it ought to jolt you whether it is Charlie Kirk or George Floyd.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you come to watch and people die on camera, you got a problem that you need to go see somebody about.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care who it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: You say George Floyd in the White Church and all of a sudden it gets real quiet.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm serious, this should bother you one way or the other.

[SPEAKER_00]: It has nothing to do with politics when people die on camera it ought to jolt you a little bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Speak to your humanity for a moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So last year Charlie Kirk is assassinated on camera.

[SPEAKER_00]: Immediately, we hear this flood of prophetic voices coming out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was like 24 hours, and TBN is running prophecy updates, and they start prophecy and the internet people are prophecy updates.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know how I knew immediately none of it was prophetic?

[SPEAKER_00]: because you don't know the difference between the flesh and the spirit when you're upset.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not prophetic right now you're angry.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ought to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ought to be angry but if you if you lean into the prophetic and you think this is the spirit of God because you're upset.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not to say that there's not some righteous indignation that comes up any but all of a sudden if you see something tragic like that and you start to spit out all this stuff well this is what the spirit of the Lord is saying in this hour.

[SPEAKER_00]: My God.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just watch the guy down, Cameron, you think you might just be a little off kilter because if you're not, we need to have a different conversation.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ought to be throwed off.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ought to feel a little shaken.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so somebody asked me in the church, asked me about one of the prophetic words.

[SPEAKER_00]: I told them this exact thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I don't trust any prophetic word when I'm emotional.

[SPEAKER_00]: You think I didn't sit in my office that day and start feeling stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: I signed up for a Hulu account right there on the spot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm watching everything that's coming in.

[SPEAKER_00]: I came in that night.

[SPEAKER_00]: The service was tough to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that doesn't mean that everything that crosses my mind is the spirit of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because when we allow that to happen, I didn't have an ending for this message and I'm getting some stuff right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we allow that to happen, we sanctify every mistake we make.

[SPEAKER_00]: Recently, there was a plethora of news that came out about people who have been giving grossly false prophecies to people in ministry.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to go dig in for it because it's just discouraging that anybody would do this, but it's come out that people false prophecies.

[SPEAKER_00]: They were going and they were mining out

[SPEAKER_00]: Facebook accounts and Instagram accounts and figuring out what was going on with people and then they would stand up and start rattling off information like it was from the Lord And it was a lie.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a false prophecy also the plot of a Steve Martin movie And it's not new because people used to do this with radio headsets and this has been people doing this nonsense has been around forever

[SPEAKER_00]: And all this information is coming out on top of that, a lot of information about spiritual abuse and local churches has been coming out of people using prophetic gifts to dominate the people in their church.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so recently one of the men made a video, and he posted it, and he apologized for anyone he had hurt,

[SPEAKER_00]: because the spirit, this is what he said, I'm not, I'm giving you the chest, I'm not quote-unimbed directly, but because the spirit of the Lord had been dealing with him so deeply lately, that some people in his ministry had been hurt.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's YouTube videos getting millions of views calling you out on this, and you're telling me you got it in the secret place.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're telling me in your prayer time, the Lord decided, now's the time to tell you that something's going on?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, what he did is what I'm warning you about, is when you make these mistakes and then you try to sanctify them, you never get to learn from the mistake.

[SPEAKER_00]: You never get to get it right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because every time something happens and it's wrong, it wasn't wrong, the Lord just hadn't dealt with me yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, you got it wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just call it, you just got it wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we start to own some of this stuff in this world that we live in, this, and I'm talking about the penny cost of world.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we own some of this stuff, sometimes you get it right, sometimes you get it wrong, sometimes you're in the flesh, sometimes you're in the spirit, but the more that you accept the moments that you get it wrong and you learn from them, somebody say, learn.

[SPEAKER_00]: You learn from them, then all of a sudden you start to feel the difference between being right and wrong and you know what happens, you get a little bit brighter and you get a little bit brighter and you get a little bit brighter until your accuracy level is crazy good and then you can walk in and go bam bam bam.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every time you see something because you were honest, you owned it and you operated in a way that had integrity rather than trying

[SPEAKER_00]: Every time a preacher steps up and does something praise for people and, you know, the reality is we live in this world where we kind of got to keep the train on the tracks.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if I come over here and I have a word of knowledge for bow and I'm just off in left field, well I still got to get this thing done at a certain time and in a certain way and would it, and so it's easy to gloss over that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to gloss over, well let's just keep praying about it, brother, you know

[SPEAKER_00]: That's easy in the ministry because there's this, I got the mic in the music and well let's sing a song, let's believe God, let me lay hands on you and we can do all of that stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm telling you, that doesn't translate into your life, learn from your mistakes, learn from it and when you learn you discern, hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the Lord wants to release this anointing over the house.

[SPEAKER_00]: I put it in my notes as a possibility I intentionally did not write an ending because I didn't know how to land this thing, but I'm going to tell you right now, I believe the Lord wants to release a discerning spirit over this house.

[SPEAKER_00]: I find it interesting that we are starting to see publicly the cracks of some of Pini

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're not aware of it, good.

[SPEAKER_00]: You'll sleep better at night.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we are starting to see some things crack.

[SPEAKER_00]: I came in here with something that's already been in me, where I'm a little like I want to deal with some of the false hoods around this stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: I came in with a real, I mean, I felt like an instruction from the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is not something I've traveled in preach.

[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of what you've gotten for me in Penny Coastal Ministry is not something I do on the road.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't something I was doing in North Alabama.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not something that I've done and worse I haven't been on this agenda for 20 years.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is something fresh and it's new on me and now we're seeing all this craziness come up.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm telling you I believe that if a spirit of discernment gets on this house, you're not you're going to know when the spirit of the Lord is speaking, you're going to know when a preacher is telling you something that's true, telling you something that's real, you're going to know when someone's trying to take advantage of you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And folks I hate to say it to you but I got to say it in a church like ours.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're predisposed to people who are taking advantage of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we are so enthralled with the gifts and the supernatural, anything that looks like shininess, we won't it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm gonna tell you, I learned something from Simon the Sorcerer and the Book of Acts that you can sometimes not tell the difference between the power of God and a magic trick.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm telling you, you need the spirit of discernment, because God is about to do something in this hour that's gonna blow your mind, but you've gotta be ready for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you, I still believe that there's a great outpouring coming to this nation.

[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that I believe I have a word from the Lord on a great outpouring.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are starting to see some things happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I promise you, we will miss a real move of God because we want to see some form that we like.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all don't know this, but on Sunday mornings, before I sing all these songs, I gotta sing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just come in here and I sound check and once the computer's done, tell me what I gotta do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I play some songs that I just wanna sing.

[SPEAKER_00]: I sing in some songs, it's more like, I start singing some Brownsville songs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Brownsville touch my life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Brownsville touch my life greatly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know Brownsville touched a lot of you in this room.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when the preacher says to do that, you'll do it and then you'll go home and nothing changes.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm telling you, I believe in a transformative power of the gospel and the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost that will change your life in Jesus' name.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm praying for people right now, just right where you stand.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you want the spirit of discernment to come on you in a strong way, I want you to lift your hands to heaven.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna pray for you right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna believe that over the next season of your life, you're gonna start to operate in a God.

[SPEAKER_00]: given obvious discernment of spirits, discernment of things in the natural, discernment of things in the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father, I ask you right now that you would begin to pour out a special anointing in this openly spirit-filled church that you'd begin to touch people right where they stand today.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you would begin to open their eyes to the real thing versus the fake thing, the false thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: verses the authentic thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father, I'm asking you that you would give this church a distaste for anything that has an appearance of godliness but denies its power.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father, I'm asking you that you would let the great next great awakening in this country be something that we discern early on.

[SPEAKER_00]: We get in early on and we start experiencing before it turns into some kind of circus that has no power to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But God, I'm asking you that you would pour out.

[SPEAKER_00]: a spirit of discernment on every individual in this church.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father, I thank you for what you do in the supernatural and ministry, but I also ask you to pour out a supernatural power of discernment on people in this church for their relationships, for their businesses, for their jobs, for their investments, for their futures, Father, for the decisions that they make that

[SPEAKER_00]: affect their everyday life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father, I'm asking you that the spirit of discernment would touch every person in this house in Jesus mighty name and everybody said, Amen.
