  1. I was glad when they said let us go into the House of the Lord.

  2. And I love being here tonight. I love the fact that we just,

  3. we're going to pray and study the word of God.

  4. You know, that's what a church does.

  5. It studies and loves the word of God.

  6. It gathers together praise. Then we go about our business.

  7. Let's stand and open with prayers.

  8. Lord, better is one day in Your courts than 1000 elsewhere.

  9. Your word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.

  10. Lord, You tell us that You are the way, the truth, and the

  11. life, that there is no coming to the Father.

  12. But by You. Lord, you tell us we must be

  13. born again. You promised that Lord you would

  14. rise on the third day, and you did.

  15. And you promised that you'd come back and take us with you.

  16. Lord, you'd call us. And so, Father, we gather

  17. because of all these promises and because of how you've

  18. changed our lives. You've rescued us, saved us and

  19. washed us, cleansed us. Your mercy is new every morning.

  20. Lord, great is your faithfulness.

  21. And Father, we stand before you with open hearts and our hands

  22. lifted up because we pray and thank you for our salvation.

  23. And now, Lord, we give you this evening.

  24. Lead us, teach us, convict us by your Holy Spirit, these things

  25. we ask and pray now in Jesus holy name.

  26. And everyone said Amen. Please take a seat and open your

  27. Bible to Revelation chapter 20, which Lord willing, we'll finish

    Revelation 20 chapter mention

  28. tonight. But before we finish chapter 20,

  29. I want to give you a quick fly over.

  30. I touched on it on a Sunday of the differing views that some

  31. have on the teaching period known as the Millennium.

  32. Remember we read 6 times. It's 1000 years, it's 1000

  33. years, it's 1000 years. We Calvary Chapel believe in the

  34. premillennial teaching of the Word of God.

  35. There is a group of people, churches whose view on the

  36. Millennium difference to that on the period 1000 year reign the

  37. Kingdom of Christ here on earth and they are called

  38. amillennials. Their view means a means

  39. literally. There's no 1000 years, not going

  40. to be 1000 years. Actually the thousand years is

  41. purely symbolic. And so the millennial to an

  42. amillennialist represents the Church age which we taught in

  43. Revelation chapter 2 and 3, and the Church age continuing on

    Revelation 2 chapter mention

  44. now. And Christ is ruling the earth

  45. in this Kingdom through the Church.

  46. It originated A millennialism with Augustine and a fellow

  47. called Origin who taught that the Millennium period 1000 years

  48. is to be interpreted spiritually has been fulfilled.

  49. As I said in the Christian Church, which many churches

  50. today, you can see why the massive focus is inward on the

  51. church being where it all happens, that Satan was bound

  52. during the earthly ministry of Jesus.

  53. That's what they teach. Augustine denied that the

  54. Millennium would follow the Second Advent or the second

  55. coming of Christ, and that the church, as I said, is the

  56. Kingdom spoken of bringing all the promises, and that there

  57. would be no literal fulfilment of any of those promises to the

  58. nation Israel. So that tells you what churches

  59. who are a millennial also have nothing to do with Israel.

  60. Israel. God's done with Israel.

  61. But history clearly tells us that Satan was not ever nor is

  62. bound now. We are not living in the

  63. Millennium now. We are not experiencing all that

  64. was promised during this period. If I go near a lion, you'll tear

  65. my head off. If a child goes near a snake, a

  66. snake will bite it and kill it. They say the Kingdom is right

  67. now a millennials and that Jesus is ruling and reigning in the

  68. church over his people. And if this now the world in

  69. which we live is the Kingdom, that means that they're saying

  70. that Satan is bound at this time.

  71. You only have to read the news lately because if this our world

  72. now and what's happening is a demonstration of Satan being

  73. bound, then it's not a very good binding or it's a very long

  74. chain. A millennialist believers say

  75. that Satan was bound at the cross.

  76. That's where all happened. No, Satan was not bound at the

  77. cross. He was sentenced at the cross

  78. but not does not serve time until Revelation chapter 20

    Revelation 20 chapter mention

  79. during the true millennial Kingdom and he gets a sentence

  80. of 1000 years. Because if Satan was bound at

  81. the cross now, then why would Peter say to Ananias in Acts

    Acts 5:3

  82. chapter 5 verse 3, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to

  83. lie to the Holy Spirit? Keep back part of the price of

  84. the land for yourself. And Paul writes to the church in

  85. Corinth and Two Corinthians chapter 4 verse 4, Satan, who is

  86. the God of this world, little G has blinded the minds of those

  87. who don't believe. Why does Peter go on also to say

  88. one Peter 58 be sober, be vigilant.

  89. Why? Because your adversary the devil

  90. is chained up. No, he walks about like a

  91. roaring lion, seeking whom me whom he may devour.

  92. Paul went on also to say in One Thessalonians chapter 2 verse

  93. 18. Therefore we wanted to come to

  94. you, even I Paul time and again, but Satan handed us.

  95. Now the other side of millennial view is that of a post

  96. millennial view. This is the belief that Jesus

  97. won't return until after the 1000 years or the period.

  98. Post millennial teaching says that the Kingdom of Christ will

  99. be ushered in by the church through preaching, politics,

  100. Christians getting into government, and getting people,

  101. the right people, into power. You can see how that's why

  102. churches sometimes go adrift sometimes in that area.

  103. Post millennials teach that the world, much of the world will be

  104. saved through the gospel making earth.

  105. What's going to happen is the church will eventually make

  106. earth primarily a Christian world and only then will Jesus

  107. return to rule and reign once we've done our job, got everyone

  108. saved. And they say post millennial

  109. people, the teaching is that the 1000 years is not a literal 1000

  110. years, but it's simply a long period of time.

  111. Just how long it's going to take the church to do this, we're not

  112. sure. But the church will overcome the

  113. evil of the world and that we as believers, we will go Jesus,

  114. look at what we've done, come back now, come back now.

  115. And so they also teach that the world is going to get

  116. progressively better until Jesus returns.

  117. So that's a millennial post millennial.

  118. So we believe in pre millennial teaching literal a literal 1000

  119. years is a literal 1000 years. So let's look at our text.

  120. We got up to chapter 10. Now we're in verse 11, sorry,

  121. verse 11 tonight of chapter 20, John says, Then I saw a great

  122. white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth

  123. and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for

  124. them. And I saw the dead small and

  125. great. That means everybody standing

  126. before God. And books were opened and

  127. another book was opened. So we've got plural books.

  128. And now a singular book opened, which is the book of life.

  129. And the dead were judged according to their works by the

  130. things which were written in the books.

  131. The sea gave up all the dead who were in it.

  132. Everyone who died in the sea, Death and Hades delivered up the

  133. dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one

  134. notice according to his works, then Death and Hades, the

  135. abiding place at the moment. Now when someone dies and

  136. they're unsaved, they go to their Hades, both those places

  137. now no longer going to be needed.

  138. So those two locations cast into the lake of fire.

  139. And then it says this is the second death, spiritual,

  140. eternal, not physical. And anyone not found written in

  141. the look of life was cast into the lake of fire.

  142. And that's the end. So the great white phone

  143. judgement is really not a judgement as such, a courtroom

  144. as such. It is judgement, I should say,

  145. but it's not like a like, you know, when you go to the court

  146. here and you stand before a judge, there's not a courtroom

  147. as such where you have a prosecutor and a defence.

  148. While we are on my client, he was not doing this.

  149. The other one said, well, I would say that this person here

  150. he is guilty of and there's this argy bargy and a judge in

  151. between. No, the Great White Throne

  152. judgement is actually you've been found guilty.

  153. That's why you went and were resurrected through the 2nd

  154. resurrection. You're guilty already.

  155. So there's not like am I guilty or not?

  156. It's not that it's the sentence, it's how long you're going to

  157. get. It's what's going to fall upon

  158. you for being guilty. It's called great, the great

  159. White Throne judgement, because of the dignity of the judge

  160. himself, who's the judge Jesus Christ.

  161. And it's called great because of the greatness and unparalleled

  162. solemnity of the occasion. This is a moment in time for

  163. every individual who rejected Jesus Christ that they'll never

  164. forget. It's called great because of the

  165. vastness of the scene, for here is the dawn of eternity.

  166. It's called great because of the eternal consequences involved.

  167. There's no going back. It's called great because of the

  168. great destinies. It will decide.

  169. It's called great because there will be a judge but no jury.

  170. It's called great because there will be a sentence but no

  171. appeal, no karma, no reincarnation, not no Hinduism.

  172. Come back a second time, have a crack, have a have another go.

  173. John chapter 3 verse 18 tells us he who believes in him is not

    John 3:18

  174. condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already.

  175. This is after John 3/16/17 Speaking of Jesus the Son of

  176. God, he who does not believe. So your unbeliever is condemned

  177. already. You're guilty already because he

  178. has not believed. In the name of the only begotten

  179. Son of God the judge is the Lord Jesus Christ.

  180. As I said, John chapter 5 verse 22 For the Father judges no one,

    John 5:22

  181. but has committed all judgement to the Son.

  182. So Jesus is the one who provided salvation.

  183. John 316 For God so loved the world that he gave his only

  184. begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not

  185. perish, but have everlasting life.

  186. Jesus is the one who provided salvation.

  187. He is the one in the Great White Throne judgement who will judge

  188. those who have rejected His offer of salvation.

  189. When Jesus came the first time, you remember so many cast a

  190. judgement upon him. Caiaphas, you call yourself the

  191. Son of God. Anas Herod Pilot, I wash my

  192. hands crucifying the Sanhedrin. It's guilty and all the

  193. religious leaders of Israel. Can you imagine at this time the

  194. Great White Throne Judgement, Caiaphas, Anice, Herod, Pilot,

  195. all standing not collectively but as individuals before the

  196. one who they had cast judgement on before?

  197. And he is still. Remember the Judge Jesus is

  198. still wearing the marks of his crucifixion.

  199. Remember, remember this, remember this, it says in verse

  200. 11 from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.

  201. This refers to the destruction and dissolving of the universe

  202. as we know it. And to Peter, Peter picks this

  203. up chapter 3 verse 9. He says the Lord is not slack

  204. concerning his promise. That is a coming back, as some

  205. count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing

  206. that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  207. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in

  208. which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the

  209. elements will melt with a fervent heat, both the earth.

  210. So they spoke of the heavens and the earth and the works that in

  211. it will be burned up. So why the earth and the heaven

  212. must be destroyed and recreated? Because both have been polluted

  213. by sin. The earth was the scene of sin

  214. and rebellion, and it bore the stain of the judge's blood.

  215. Jesus crucified on Calvary. The aerial heavens around us

  216. cannot remain either since they were polluted by Satan.

  217. Why he had the title Remember the Prince and power of the air.

  218. So instead of cleaning or putrefying them, God will

  219. dissolve them, recreate them. New heaven, new earth next

  220. chapter. And it says and there was found

  221. no place for them. Who?

  222. The unsaved, because the unsaved will have no place to hide for

  223. the final judgement. You can't go anywhere.

  224. This is it, verse 12. And I saw the dead, small and

  225. great, standing before God. So that's everybody.

  226. And the books were open. We read that and the other book,

  227. Book of Life. The dead were judged according

  228. to the works, things written in those books.

  229. The unsaved will stand as individuals before God, before

  230. Jesus Christ. For an individual.

  231. Judgement won't be in a group. I'll be collective.

  232. Oh man, I'll be there with all my mates.

  233. No, as an individual, As salvation is individual, you

  234. must receive Christ yourself. Don't receive it as a group.

  235. So judgement is individual. How long will this judgement

  236. take? Don't know.

  237. But imagine all the unsaved dead that have died and now are

  238. resurrected. Every one of them will stand

  239. before God, The books will be open and out will come all the

  240. information, nothing left unturned, All the unsaved dead

  241. will be resurrected to stand before the Lord.

  242. Hades we read giving up the dead.

  243. Remember in Luke's Gospel chapter 16 when the rich man and

  244. Lazarus both died, Lazarus went where?

  245. To Abraham's bosom, which was emptied out as Jesus, He Who

  246. descended first, for who ascended first descended.

  247. Let those free the final judgement.

  248. Luke chapter 16, the rich man, he is resurrected.

    Luke 16 chapter mention

  249. He's part of this and it speaks of the sea.

  250. Now you might think, well see well, how many people die at

  251. sea? Well, there's a few shipwrecks

  252. and things, but we forget. Go back to the book of Genesis

  253. when only 8 souls were saved out of the entire world's

  254. population. Just 8 and the great flood and

  255. the rest of the entire world's population died in the global

  256. flood. Each one of them.

  257. As I said, this is the second resurrection and it's only for

  258. non believers. This is not about whether you've

  259. saved it or not. It's a sentencing.

  260. You're guilty. They will have a resurrected

  261. body. Bible tells us that not like

  262. ours in One Corinthians 15, because our body is suited for

  263. heaven, where we're going to go. But those involved in the second

  264. resurrection will have a second a new a new body as well.

  265. Not suited for heaven, but it will be a body suited for

  266. eternal punishment because the Bible tells us over and over

  267. again that they'll feel pain, anguish, sense darkness, loss,

  268. isolation. They'll grind their teeth,

  269. they'll gnash their tongues, all those things for eternity.

  270. Back in verse 12, it stated that all the books were opened.

  271. Then a book singular. So all the unsaved are to be

  272. judged by what is written. I dealt with that in detail in

  273. my blog the other day, How yes, all will be judged, but Hitler's

  274. judgement compared to somebody else's judgement, somebody else,

  275. there'll be measures of judgement.

  276. In that way, all the unsaved are to be judged by what is written.

  277. The Bible tells us, Jesus tells us every idle word will be

  278. written down and goes before us, catalogued in perfect detail

  279. every sinful word, thought or deed.

  280. The question is, but what about the people who have never heard

  281. the gospel? We've always been asked that

  282. question, haven't we? How will they be judged?

  283. The answer is God will judge them.

  284. Jesus Christ will judge them just like everyone else.

  285. As we read in the book of Romans chapter 1 and 2, every man,

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  286. woman and child over the age of reason that is coming to the

  287. place where you have a conscience, you can decide as

  288. well as the witness of God's creation testifies them.

  289. So they have a conscience. As saying earlier on, Mick

  290. Jagger has come out now he's not a believer.

  291. He's come out and said I had to speak up on Twitter.

  292. How can people celebrate the murder of a young man?

  293. Conscience we have that each and everyone of us have right and

  294. wrong. Psalm 19 verse one the heavens

  295. declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork

  296. the heavens. Psalm 96 verse 97 verse 6 the

  297. heavens declare His righteousness and all the people

  298. see his glory. Romans chapter one verse 18 Paul

  299. goes into further detail. He says, For the wrath of God,

  300. that is, the judgement of God is revealed, shown from heaven

  301. against all ungodliness that is, not living right before God, and

  302. unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in

  303. unrighteousness. Because what may be known of God

  304. is revealed unto them, manifest to them, for God has shown it to

  305. them. How?

  306. For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes

  307. are clearly seen being understood by the things that

  308. are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are

  309. without excuse, oh, but no excuse, because although they

  310. knew God, unbelievers, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were

  311. thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish

  312. hearts were darkened. Now the Bible tells us that the

  313. road to glory as we read in Pilgrims Progress, great book.

  314. Read it once a year. It's a great book.

  315. Matthew 713 Jesus said enter by the narrow gate, for wide is the

  316. gate, broad is the way that leads to destruction.

  317. Everyone's going down that path and there are many who will go

  318. in by it because narrow is the gate.

  319. Jesus said I am the way, difficult is the way.

  320. Take up your cross and follow me.

  321. You want to follow me, then you must deny yourself and take up

  322. the cross. It's a it's a narrow difficult

  323. way which leads to life and there are few who find it.

  324. So the narrow Rd has been well marked.

  325. Jesus said an evil and adulterous generation. 6 after a

  326. sign, I'll give you a sign like Jonah was in that great wish 3

  327. days and three nights the resurrection.

  328. That's the sign. People say well if I saw a

  329. miracle, if God did a miracle before me, then I believe.

  330. Remember that was the going on in Luke 16.

  331. Don't, don't. I got brothers.

  332. You got to send someone back. And even if someone were to come

  333. back from the dead, they wouldn't believe.

  334. And there is the singular book, the Book of Life.

  335. This book records the names of every saved person, every

  336. citizen of heaven. Remember what Jesus said a bit

  337. said about this book to his disciples.

  338. He sent his disciples off for the first time.

  339. They came back when man it was amazing.

  340. We were casting out devils sick with being healed and people

  341. came wanted to know more about repentance and getting right

  342. with God man. Jesus said hey hey hey settle.

  343. Don't rejoice over this that the spirits are subject to you, but

  344. rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven as

  345. this is the judgement of the unsaved.

  346. No person in the second resurrection has their name in

  347. this book, the book of life. And so the response to every

  348. person appearing here will be name so and so.

  349. Your name is not listed, simple as that.

  350. This judgement is as I said, more of a sentencing of the

  351. already proven guilty. Now some will say, and this is

  352. the worst thing as a pastor, it's the worst verse.

  353. As a pastor, some will say at that time many will say to me in

  354. that day, Lord, Lord, have I not prophesied in your name, cast

  355. out demons in your name, done many wonders in your name and

  356. the judge will declare under them never knew you depart from

  357. me. You who practise that means you

  358. live a lawless life. So the second death is

  359. spiritual. Where is the lake of fire?

  360. Don't know. And some far off Galaxy

  361. somewhere. Where will the Great White

  362. Throne judgement be? This is the final judgement.

  363. It is the final judgement. It's not on heaven and it's not

  364. on the earth, and it's after the 1000 years, literal 1000 years

  365. has passed. This judgement takes place.

  366. It's the judgement of the dead. It's the judgement of the

  367. unsaved. It is not a judgement as to

  368. salvation, but a judgement as according to the evil works of

  369. the unsaved and the measure of punishment that is going to be

  370. laid out. Besides separation from God

  371. forever, So in the light of Calvary, no lost Sinner can

  372. condemn God for casting them into hell.

  373. Why? For God has provided a way of

  374. escape. You get to have your way kicking

  375. and screaming and says in book of Romans, it's a sad scripture

  376. too, that God gave them over. He said, OK, I've tried, I've

  377. tried, I've tried as he did with Pharaoh.

  378. Pharaoh I mean plague after plague after plague and they're

  379. all targeted, specific plague. And each time Pharaoh's heart

  380. hardened, God has provided a way of Skype and He's patiently

  381. waiting for sinners to repent. The great White Throne judgement

  382. is final. There is no more judgements

  383. after that. And those will be cast into the

  384. Lake of Fire forever.
