"The 70th Week" | Daniel 9 | Pastor Keith

The 70th week from verse 26 we pick it up and after the 62

weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for himself and the

people of the Prince who is to come.

Notice that the people of the Prince, the Prince here is a

small P, not a capital P as it referred previously to.

The Messiah shall destroy the city, that's Jerusalem, and the

sanctuary, the temple. The end of it shall be with the

flood until the end of the war. Desolations are determined.

Then he, an individual shall confirm a covenant and

agreement, a contract with many. This is the with the nation of

Israel for one week. Remember, every time we see that

week, it's a period of seven years.

But in the middle of the week, in the middle of the seven

years, 3 1/2 years in, he who made the agreement shall bring

an end to sacrifice and offering.

That means to bring an end to it, he must have started.

For it to start, there had to be a temple, and on the wing of

abomination shall be one who makes it desolate, even until

the consummation which is determined, the end of these

things, is poured out on the desolate.

Paul warned us, he exhorted us more than three times actually,

to not be ignorant. So as Christians said on Sunday,

we don't come to church, check out our brains in the foyer,

come in and just take everything we we are to.

Gabriel came to Daniel. Remember to give him skill and

understanding. So you have your Bibles, you

should have your Bible, you should follow it.

And you are to know your Bible, you know, to know the word of

God. This is how God speaks to you.

He doesn't speak to you in the trees or in the oceans or

anything like that. He speaks to you through his

word. Paul said don't be ignorant,

Romans 11/25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you

should be ignorant of this mystery.

And he's Speaking of Israel because we're looking at the

nation Israel here in these last verses, lest you should be wise

in your own opinion. That blindness in part has

happened to Israel. Israel is not a godly nation.

There is a God of Israel, but the majority of Israelis don't

believe in God. They don't follow God until the

fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

And tonight we look at the last seven years, the final week of

Daniel's prophecy, this period of 70 years, the seventy 70th

week which is 490 years, Jesus said on the Mount of Olives in

Matthew 2415. He said, therefore, when you see

the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet,

referring to what Daniel has been told by Gabriel, what he

writes and what we're reading, what we've been reading over the

last three Sundays, spoken of by Daniel the prophet.

So Daniel is a prophet. Jesus says he is standing in the

holy place. The holy place is the temple,

the holy of holies. Whoever reads, let him

understand you got to know this, for then shall be great

tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the

world until this time, Jesus speaking future no nor ever

shall be what happened again. And unless those days were

shortened, no flesh would be saved.

But for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened.

The teaching of the period, the last 70th week, the period often

called the tribulation is called other names in the Bible.

The day of Jacob's trouble, it's called the day of the Lord.

It's called the day of wrath. It's called the wrath of the

lamb. Think about that.

You ever seen a an angry lamb? It's called the wrath of the

lamb and a time of trouble. It's the third most dealt with

doctrine in the Bible. People are well who can

understand that you and I are to understand that.

That's why we have the word of God.

That's a cop out. And so we're dealing with 70

sets of sevens, 490 years, a period, a chunk of period that

starts at a certain place is going to end at a certain place.

The 1st 49 years was the repair of the walls and streets of

Jerusalem. Pastor Israel's teaching that

Nehemiah the next 430 years, 34 years add to the 49 give us the

coming of the Messiah, the Prince Palm Sunday.

Tonight we get the final seven year period, the 70th week.

In verse 24 we are given a summary of the events to occur.

Messiah shall be cut off. The people of the Prince who is

to come shall destroy the city. So on we'll go over it.

Verse 25, we have the 1st 69 weeks and then there's a pause.

There's a stop, there's a gap clock stop.

There's a prophetic clock. Verse 26 We have this gap

between the 69th and the 70th week.

Now the events of this prophecy, remember we have to have a

starting point. What was the starting point?

Daniel is told from the going forth of the commandment to

restore and build Jerusalem. Verse 25, That's when you start

the clock, the prophetic clock for the 70 years of Daniel,

470th week, 490 years. March 14th, 445 BC, Artaxerxes

Longemata said to Nehemiah, Nehemiah go back to Jerusalem,

rebuild, they went back. It's not about the temple, They

rebuilt the walls, streets. We went through that in detail.

Now after 69 weeks of seven year periods, that is we learnt is

483 years on that day Jesus said go down to the city, get a colt,

tie it up, tell the Master the Lord has need of it, bring the

donkey to me, the colt and he rides into the city.

He never stayed in Jerusalem that past other week.

He slept outside the city. He rides in on Palm Sunday.

The crowd erupts. Blessed is he, The King is

coming. The King is coming.

The religious leaders, they know what the scriptures mean.

They tell everyone, yeah, he's got to tell them to be quiet,

something for the Messiah. He says, hey, the crowd's going

to cry out or the stones will. And he says on this thigh day in

Luke chapter 19, Jesus said you should have known.

They should have known. Jesus rides in on Palm Sunday.

On the Thursday he's killed. Same time all the Passover lambs

are killed because on the Sunday 10th of Nissan was the day I

remember that all the families selected the lamb to be killed

for their Passover. He's crucified on Thursday on

Calvary Daniel is told verse 2470 weeks are determined.

This is the period. What is that 70 weeks of seven

year period, 490 years for your people, it's Israeli, it's about

Israel. And for your holy city, the

events in Bondi, I'll touch on them again on on Sunday.

Open your eyes everybody. It's Israel.

Israel has got the world's attention even more so.

First thing is to happen, it says, to finish the

transgression. Notice it's not transgressions,

it's singular transgression. To finish the transgression, the

dominant sin of Israel is apostasy.

They have turned their back on God.

Jesus came on Palm Sunday. What did they do?

They rejected him, came unto his own, and his own received him

not. But Daniel tells us that the

future of Israel, and this is what I so love because you and I

know Israel's got so much to go through.

The Jewish people, they have anguished.

Now there's so much more yet to come, but Daniel tells us that

the future of Israel is that they are as a nation will turn

to Jesus as their Messiah, but that is yet future Zechariah

Zechariah 12:10

chapter 12 verse 10 Zechariah read it.

It's like many revelations. It's a wonderful book.

God says our poor on the House of David and on the inhabitants

of Jerusalem. The spirit of grace

supplications. Then they will look upon me, a

capital M. This is Jesus speaking whom they

pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as

one mourns for his only Son, and grief for Him as one grieves for

a first born. Jesus is all of those.

Israel is a nation. When Jesus returns the second

coming, they will mourn as a nation because of the years of

the rejection of the Messiah Jesus.

Can you imagine how that will affect them as a people?

Oh my goodness, what we did, what we went through, and then

it says to make an end of sins, that is Israel's sin, bringing

about the spiritual restoration of Israel.

Zechariah chapter 13, verse one. In that day a fountain shall be

opened for the House of David and for the inhabitants of

Jerusalem. For sin and for uncleanness

shall be in that day, says the Lord of hosts, that all cut off

the names of the idols from the land.

They shall no longer be remembered.

I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart

from the land. God's going to cleanse the

promised land. Then it says to make

reconciliation for iniquity. This is the third thing that

still occur yet hasn't happened yet.

It has happened in a sense, Yes, that occurred on Calvary's

cross. But as far as Israel is a nation

to bring the Jewish nation back to God, the God of Abraham,

Isaac and Jacob in Romans Chapter 11.

Read it and know it. Paul says a rhetorical question.

Is God finished with Israel? Is he cast them aside.

Many churches today call themselves spiritual Israel.

That's Garbage's blasphemy. God always will have His

covenant with the nation and people of Abraham.

It says to bring in everlasting righteousness.

Has that happened yet? As you and I look at the world,

not too much righteousness around now.

Messiah will bring in this everlasting righteousness on His

return. Revelation chapter 19.

Behold, the days are coming. Jeremiah prophecies, says the

Lord, that I will raise to David a branch of righteousness.

A king shall reign and prosper. He'll execute judgement,

righteousness in the earth. Jesus is not doing that yet in

His days Judas shall be saved and Israel will dwell safely.

Remember Israel cut in 210 tribes, Israel to the north,

Judah to the South, Benjamin and Judah.

Now this is His name, by which he will be called the Lord of

righteousness. Jeremiah chapter 23 verse 5 to

Jeremiah 23:5–6

6. Then it says to seal up vision

and prophecy. God is going to complete.

It's coming to pass all of what he says he's going to do and

then it says and to anoint the most holy place it should be

during the Millennium. So Jesus returns.

Revelation 19, we come back with him.

You should know that. I hope you like horse riding.

Revelation 19, we return with him.

He establishes 1000 year reign and where will He rule and reign

from? Ezekiel tells us there will be a

new temple built where Christ will rule and reign during the

thousand year millennial reign. The 70th week comes to an end at

Christ's return and He begins His thousand year reign here on

earth and He will dwell in the new temple built for that time.

Ezekiel chapter 40 to 48 gives you the measurements, the size

of that actual temple, exact detail, yet future.

Now Paul's words found in Romans 11 I referred to earlier on will

come to pass. It's called replacement

theology. This thing today where the

church is now spiritual Israel. We're not spiritual Israel.

We're Gentiles. We're the unnatural branch.

They're always the natural branch.

It says in Romans 11/26. And so all Israel will be saved,

as it is written. The deliverer will come out of

Zion. He will turn away ungodliness

from Jacob. For this is my covenant.

This is God's agreement. It's going to happen with them

when I take away their sins. That's the only thing that gives

me heart with all the trials and tribulation that Israel is still

yet to face. So 80 year old Daniel, he's,

he's reading this as he's hearing Gabriel tell him about

this, the coming of the Messiah. And as he's reading this, all

the things that are going to happen to him and to his people

and to his land, he knows it's about 67 years now.

He's been in captivity. There's about three years left

to go before they can return. But Jeremiah says three years.

We're going to go back to. We aren't going to be able to go

back home. Jeremiah says that, but Daniel's

heart, as he hears this, he has questions.

Because what? Israel has no temple.

It's in ruins. This is rubbish.

There's hardly anyone there. They're all dead or captive.

They've been dispersed who who's home and Daniel says, does

Israel still have a hope in the future?

That's what he's worried about. So God tells Daniel all this

detail about what's going to happen to Israel, son of David's

going to come the rule and reign and Israel were restored.

So Daniel has this hope yet it's way future.

He's still living in the time of Babylon.

But we had this gap 62 weeks plus seven weeks, 69 weeks.

And because it says Messiah comes and he's cut off.

He was cut off on the first day He's crucified.

That's it. Remember the the two disciples

on the road to Emmaus? I said it's all over.

Jesus gave him the Bible study. Oh fools.

You need to know the word. And he gave him a Bible study.

Messiah was killed 70 AD. Just a few years later the

temple is destroyed and General Titus the prophetic clock stops

69 sevens. There's still a seven year

period. There are still many things in

verse 24 not yet fulfilled. We've read those.

You know. Prophecy has partial filling in

Isaiah Chapter 9, verse 6. We all know that Scripture.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born. That's happened, hasn't it,

Where Bethlehem, we're about to celebrate Christmas.

Unto us the Son has given. That's happened for God's to

love the world that He gave His only begotten Son.

But then there's a gap, because what hasn't happened?

The government will be on His shoulder.

He's not ruling and reigning of the world yet his name will be

called wonderful counsellor, mighty God, everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace, because only when he returns will peace

finally come in that thousand year reign.

Remember when Jesus went into the synagogue and he undo did

the scroll in Isaiah and he read out today this prophecy is

fulfilled, but he didn't read on the day of vengeance.

There's a gap, things yet to occur and this gap in this gap,

you and I are now living in the gap between the 69th year, 69th

week and the 70th week. We're in that gap.

What's that gap called? It's called the church age.

It's been going for some 2000 years but but the clock is soon

to click on. Paul called this church age

period, this gap a mystery because it's not found in the

Old Testament. They couldn't see the church

Ephesians 35, which in other ages was not made known to the

sons of men as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to his

holy apostles and prophets. They didn't know, you know, when

the Gentiles got the Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 10 and Caesarea,

Peter went what's going on here? I can't come in here and God had

told him down at at the House of Simon the tenant.

Hey, what I tell you is clean you you eat.

Then he knock on the door. He's got to go up and he speaks

to Cornelius in the Italian band Romans and the Holy Spirit fell

and filled Gentiles. They didn't know about that.

And the Gentiles should be fellow heirs.

It says Ephesians 36 of the same body partakers of his promising

Christ through the gospel in verse 27.

We're ready. It's not yet, but when the clock

starts again for the last 70th week, the last seven year period

for all these things to be termined fulfilled.

Click verse 27. It says then he shall confirm a

covenant with many for one week. How does that period, that one

week is a period of seven years, but in the middle of the week 3

1/2 years into this? Seven year period he breaks the

covenant, He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

Who is this? How does he stop this?

And on the wing of abomination shall be one who makes desolate

even until the consummation which is determined is poured

out on the desolate. Who in the future is this He

spoken of? Pause the gap.

Then clock starts again. Verse 25 we're told Messiah the

Prince. There are two Princess mentioned

in Daniel's prophecy. In Daniel 9 verse 25 we have

Daniel 9:25

Messiah the Prince capital P. Verse 26 we have another Prince

and the people of the Prince Small pre P who is to come.

It is this Prince who will make a covenant with Israel.

He's connected to the Romans because it was under Titus that

in 70 AD they laid siege to Jerusalem, bowled down the

temple, dispersed and slaughtered everyone.

So Daniel sees this future world rule, this ruler, he has a

connection with the Roman Empire.

How does he, how does he know this?

How is it going to be be a connection?

Now we know the Roman Empire ended in 476 AD.

It actually split in two. It was not conquered by another

empire. So it just kind of fell within.

You remember back in Daniel chapter 2, Daniel had a vision.

What of an image? Nebuchadnezzar said it was all

gold. God said ain't anal gold.

Head of gold, chest and arms of silver, stomach of bronze,

Greeks thighs iron. But then the feet 2 feet, toes,

clay and iron mixed it's legs of iron.

Daniel 2, the 1st 33, it's feet, partly of iron and partly of

clay, 10 toes. Ten nations we learnt, Remember

they're going to be an emergence.

We have the the heart of it at the moment with the European

Union. Well, there's more than 10

nations. Yes, there is, but it will come

back to 10 nations and what will come out of this will be a

leader, the re emergence of the future related Roman confederacy

with a ruler that Daniel was told previously.

There's this little horn that comes out of this thing.

This little horn's got a big mouth and he speaks great

things, but the great things are are blasphemous things.

We thought that Barack Obama was quite eloquent in speech.

This guy is going to make Barack Obama sound like he had a speech

impediment. He is going to be smooth.

This man, the first horse rider of the Four Horsemen of the

Apocalypse, comes bringing peace.

He will woo the people of Israel.

Now think about it. At the moment, 23 minutes to go,

I'll move on. The Prince of the people is the

Antichrist. It says then he shall confirm a

covenant for many for one week. How would Israel make an

agreement like this? Think about what they're going

through, being through, and what they're continuing to go

through. You know when you want peace,

when you're just trying to live. And when someone comes along and

says, you know what, Hey, I got a deal.

I'll placate Islam. I'll bring in a situation, you

can rebuild the temple. And you know what?

I'll make sure you live in peace.

And the people in Israel will go finally.

Oh yes, is he the Messiah? Is he the Messiah?

Think about it, you you think if you're living in a war torn zone

and someone offers you peace, someone says you know, not only

going to give bring you peace, protect you.

I'm going to allow your roots, your religion.

We're going to build the temple. This is a golden.

Oh wow, where do we sign? Where do we sign?

So the temple will be rebuilt, the sacrifices and the temple

worship will begin once again. Because that has to happen

because he's going to do something to stop it.

In Daniel Chapter 11, verse 31, it says, and forces shall be

mustered by him, the Antichrist. Remember, he's going to have the

largest, most powerful army in the world, weapons.

He's going to have them and they shall defile the sanctuary

fortress. Then they shall take away the

daily sacrifices to take them away.

They've got to be there in the in the beginning and place there

the abomination of desolation. You'll set up an image so in

Daniel chapter 12 verse 11, and from the time that the daily

Daniel 12:11

sacrifice is taken away and the abomination of desolation is set

up, there shall be 1290 days. Three times in Daniel is this

reference to the future of the abomination of desolation.

In Matthew 2415, Jesus said, hey, I want to tell you about

that end times and it's all Jewish.

Remember, because when it happens, run to the hills of

Judea, pray that it's not on the Sabbath because the Sabbath will

be reinstituted in that time. You can only travel 2/3 of a

mile on the Sabbath. It's 1280 steps.

All the all the old laws will be back down on the you know, you

go there now and they have the washings now, man, that's all

going to be regurgitated stronger still.

Jesus says, therefore, when you see the abomination of

desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy

place, whoever reads, let him understand.

He says run, don't go back and get your your jumper.

Don't just take off flee. Pray that you're not pregnant.

Pray that it's not winter. Jesus says Daniel is a prophet

of God. Believe Him, Jesus is telling

you, and I today believe what Daniel says.

It's going to happen. This man of sin is coming.

Paul tells us in Second Thessalonians chapter 2, verse

2 Thessalonians 2 · chapter mention

one. Now brethren, concerning the

coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto

him, don't be soon shaken in mind or trouble, either by

spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day

of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any

means. This one who was coming, He is

the man of sin. He is the Son of perdition.

He opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or

that is worship, and he sits as God in the temple of God,

showing himself that He is God. Isn't that what he said to

Jesus? Jesus, if you'll just bow down

and worship me, If you just bow down, I'll give you the world.

So the first horse rider. Revelation 6 of the Four

Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He comes and he sells so much to

the world that the world accepts him.

Israel accepts him. The Antichrist rule ends when

battle Armageddon Jesus returns. Where with him, You know, you

say, well, I'd like to go to the to, to Megiddo to say you will.

You'll see it. Jesus speaks and it's all over.

The Antichrist rule ends when the real Christ comes because

Antichrist means member in place of everything he does is in

place of what does the rider of the White Horse in Revelation 19

have on his thigh? Faithful and true, this

Antichrist, and this is where we're at at the moment in our

world, particularly in Australia.

This Antichrist will be everything this sinful world

wants. He will bring the money, the

peace, the security to this world when Jesus the Saviour is

everything that this world needs.

Finally, Israel, the Jews will have peace.

It'll come from the Prince of Peace.

You tonight and we're in our nation.

We're at a crossroad. Everyone living now.

The time of the rapture is imminent.

You will worship one of the two Princess.

There's no was it Switzerland that had the neutrality during

World War Two? You're either with me, Jesus

said, or you're against me. You will follow one of the two

Princess. You will either worship of the

Christ, the Real, or if you reject Him, you will worship of

the Antichrist. Because it says that those who

go full hard in rejection of Christ in Second Thessalonians

it says God. God says so.

I've tried, I've tried, I've tried, but you really don't want

me. I'll make you believe the lie.

That's it, It's done. Romans chapter 1.

God says those who reject, reject, reject, reject, push

down the truth. They know the truth.

They don't want it. It says God gave them over to

the reprobate mind. God will give the world what it

wants. We have a government that

Australia voted for. We've got what we voted for.

The real Christ or the Antichrist.

I tell you, it was this message that saved my soul because I

wanted to know, how do I tell the difference between the real

Christ and the false Christ? This is the only way you'll be

able to tell because Israel's going to be duped and a lot of

people in the world, a lot of churches are going to be duped.

They'll say this man, White Horse rider, he's bringing

peace.
