  1. The. Title of this.

  2. Morning's message is. God's promises are unstoppable.

  3. God's. Promises are unstoppable this

  4. book. Is amazing.

  5. The Book of Exodus. Is the story of redemption.

  6. We will come to the Passover, the shedding of the blood of the

  7. Lamb, the Angel of death, passing over every.

  8. House that has. The blood sprinkled on the.

  9. Doorposts of the lentils. It's the book of Deliverance.

  10. After being. Slaves for 400 years.

  11. The children of Israel will be free, no longer slaves.

  12. Can you imagine that? Kids growing up, all they've

  13. known is to be a slave and then to not be a slave, to not be

  14. owned, to be free. It's a picture of you and I.

  15. Passover is a picture of the cross.

  16. Slavery is a picture of. Sin the way we hate living the.

  17. Power that Satan had over. Us, Jesus said.

  18. I've come to set you free in Genesis chapter one it says in

  19. the beginning. God created.

  20. The heavens and the earth. Genesis starts with creation.

  21. And closes. In chapter 50 with a.

  22. Funeral The death of Joseph. Joseph type of deliverer.

  23. And him being placed in a coffin but not.

  24. Buried. It's not going to be buried in

  25. Egypt because God promised. It's going to be buried where

  26. and promised land. Just think, Joseph said, yeah,

  27. bury me. And you know when they did

  28. leave, they carried. Joseph's coffin.

  29. The promises are unstoppable. What's God?

  30. Promised you unstoppable Joseph had faith beyond his death there

  31. are. 300. To 350 years.

  32. Between the end of Genesis, the beginning of.

  33. Exodus Exodus itself covers a period of approximately 40

  34. years. You and I today may. 2026.

  35. By the way, it's the week that. Israel became a state again,

  36. miraculously. 14th of May. Exodus is some 3000. 400 years

  37. old. This book, which brings us to a

  38. question and your. Kids got to ask us.

  39. Why are we? Studying the book of Exodus.

  40. Such an old book. What's how does that?

  41. Help me today. In addition, some might.

  42. Ask aren't we New Testament? Believers, though, we need to

  43. just. Stick in the New Testament.

  44. Why even? Study the Old Testament.

  45. Some people say the answer 1. Firstly, because it is God's

  46. word. It's in the Bible.

  47. And it is. Paul the Apostle, who reminds us

  48. in Two Timothy. 3/16. All scripture.

  49. What does all mean All. All scripture is.

  50. Given by inspiration of God and is.

  51. Profitable for teaching, for doctrine, for reproof.

  52. To correct us. For correction for instruction

  53. in. Righteousness.

  54. How to live godly? That the man.

  55. Of God, woman of God. May be complete mature.

  56. Thoroughly equipped for every good work, the good work that

  57. God has laid out for us, prepared for us to live.

  58. It's profitable for us. You and I will profit.

  59. By. Studying the book of Genesis,

  60. Exodus in addition secondly. Paul wrote to the church at

  61. Corinth. In Corinthians chapter 10, verse

  62. 6 now. These things.

  63. Speaking of, Exodus became our examples.

  64. To the intent that we should not.

  65. Last, lust after evil things as they also lusted.

  66. That is, the children of Israel in their exodus wanted to go

  67. back to. Egypt and do not become.

  68. Idolaters they. Remember, they're going to make

  69. a golden calf. Shortly, as were some of.

  70. Them. Now all these things happened to

  71. them as examples, and they were written for our admonition.

  72. Paul's writing to the New Testament believers.

  73. These were written for you and I to learn.

  74. To be instructed by upon which? Upon whom?

  75. The ends of the ages. Have come, that's what you and

  76. I. In other words, what happened

  77. then was written for us to learn from.

  78. To be guided by Jesus Christ is the story of Exodus.

  79. It's not just the history book, it's his story.

  80. Jesus is the Passover. Jesus is the Deliverer.

  81. Jesus is the bread, the manner that comes.

  82. Down from heaven, Jesus is the. Fire and the cloud that will

  83. lead them, Christ. Is the story of.

  84. Genesis in Genesis chapter 3. 15 the Lord said.

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  85. After Adam and Eve sinned. I'll put enmity between you and

  86. the woman between your. Seed and her seed.

  87. He shall bruise your. Head and you shall.

  88. Bruise his seal speaking to Satan the coming of the Messiah,

  89. the saviour of the world, would come through the seed of the.

  90. Woman, Mary, Mariah, Joseph and Mary she would bring forth.

  91. A virgin bring forth. A son, the Messiah.

  92. Said back in Genesis chapter. Three.

  93. That's where the story. His story begins and the.

  94. Saviour of the world would come through the.

  95. Family of Abraham Jewish Romans 4 Abraham is called the father.

  96. Of our faith, Father of faith too.

  97. So the Messiah would come through the Jewish people.

  98. In Exodus 11 we read Now these are the names.

  99. Of the children of Israel who came to Egypt each.

  100. Man and his. Household his family came with.

  101. Jacob, these are families of believers.

  102. These are. Jewish families who worship the

  103. Jewish. God, the God of Israel.

  104. And they end Genesis chapter. 50.

  105. They end up and we're told they arrive in.

  106. Egypt first verse of Exodus. Now the word translated.

  107. Now these are the names. The word now actually in the.

  108. Hebrew is the word. And so Genesis doesn't.

  109. Finish Exodus isn't like a. Whole complete new book.

  110. A whole new story. No, it's and.

  111. So these are the people of Israel.

  112. So Joseph died. I'm 10 years old.

  113. Put in a coffin. And these are his family, and

  114. these are the names of his family who arrived in Egypt.

  115. It's the connection. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus,

  116. Numbers. Deuteronomy, all written by

  117. Moses, are actually one book. We've just divided.

  118. Them it's just one book. Exodus is the.

  119. Continuation of the story in Genesis of the Message.

  120. Of the Saviour, his story, His story is our history.

  121. And salvation that was. Told to Adam.

  122. Adam. From you is going to come the

  123. Messiah. Seed of the woman Eve, then

  124. Abraham was. Told.

  125. Abraham through you, and he's got no children.

  126. Through you the seed. Will come the Messiah, then he.

  127. Told Isaac, and he told Jacob, and he told Joseph.

  128. And these are the names. Of the children of Israel.

  129. Now. The story of the Messiah is what

  130. let's summarise it. Jesus is coming.

  131. He came born in Bethlehem. Born of a virgin dies.

  132. On Calvary as the sacrificial. Lamb of God.

  133. Going back to Exodus. The Passover lamb.

  134. Going back to Genesis. Seed of the woman he rose from

  135. the dead, defeated death. Set the world US.

  136. You and I free from. The slavery.

  137. Of sin and the bondage of death, the.

  138. Fear of death and. Then it says he will.

  139. Return. We're living in a time.

  140. Period. When?

  141. Soon. Jesus will return rapture of the

  142. Church. Seven year tribulation will

  143. begin. Jesus will return second coming

  144. at the end of that 1000 years reign.

  145. Then there'll be a new heaven and a new earth.

  146. The great white throne judgement.

  147. God is personal. With each of us.

  148. Did you know that and I? Sense this morning something

  149. unusual. I sense.

  150. That we as a church. And you, the holy.

  151. Spirit was moving through us. That you and I were really.

  152. Actually thanking God for. We hadn't.

  153. We hadn't thanked. Him we're in our worship.

  154. We were. We were worshipping him, but

  155. we're really we were. Thanking him for so much we owe

  156. him so. Much you know how How?

  157. Wonderful it is to thank. Someone you know when you.

  158. When you do something. And they and they say thank you,

  159. you, you. Kind of.

  160. Oh. And you go, someone says you're

  161. welcome, pray, go, pray, go in Italian.

  162. And we get. Caught by that?

  163. Because no one says thank you when someone says thank you.

  164. Go oh. That's that's all right.

  165. Well, today I think. You and I moved.

  166. To a level by the Holy Spirit where we as a church.

  167. We came as family individuals. And somehow God got hold of us.

  168. Together and we thank God you know what?

  169. It pleases Him because not many people thank God.

  170. We ask him for everything we want him to do this.

  171. We complain about stuff, but we really just thank him and it's

  172. a. Good thing to do audibly.

  173. Not just to think about it, to actually thank God these.

  174. Are the names of the children of Israel.

  175. Why have names? Because God is interested in.

  176. People he loves. It when you thank him.

  177. He takes. Notice of you thanking him.

  178. He thinks it's it's it's awesome.

  179. It says in John chapter 10 verse.

    John 10 chapter mention

  180. Three to him. The doorkeeper opens, and the

  181. sheep hear his voice. And he calls his own.

  182. Sheep by name. So here we given him a list of

  183. names. Who are they then?

  184. The names of the. People of Israel, just 70.

  185. People were going to enter into. Israel, sons of Jacob.

  186. Joseph is already there with his two sons.

  187. And and God writes the names here.

  188. Why do we need to know the names?

  189. Because you see to God. Names are important.

  190. You know why they're important. Because it's you.

  191. It's you, he says. I'll.

  192. Write your name. Your name is written in the.

  193. Book of Life, it's really important you think about that.

  194. God Almighty. Creator of Heaven on Earth.

  195. Actually knows your name, I mean you.

  196. Can go to. Work.

  197. You can work for some big. A government department or.

  198. A group of people go. And we in the.

  199. Police, we had a number. I had a number.

  200. Down the army you have a number. You see to God, you don't have a

  201. number. You have a name because you're

  202. important because his Son died for you and you can put your

  203. name at the end of that for God. So love Keith and he gave his

  204. only begotten son and that's why in this book in.

  205. Exodus it starts off. These are the names because the

  206. names are important to God. The rabbi's call.

  207. Exodus, the Book of Names. Exodus.

  208. What does it mean? Exodus means escape.

  209. It means way out. It's where we get our English.

  210. Word. Exit from it means departure.

  211. How? The Children of Israel exited.

  212. From their 400. Years of bondage and slavery.

  213. How? They were delivered by a

  214. deliverer. It's our story.

  215. The theme of Exodus is. Deliverance and redemption.

  216. We will see the message. Of sacrifice Introduced

  217. Sacrifice a Passover. Lamb, Chapter 12.

  218. The Lamb would be slain. We will see the story in Exodus

  219. of Ethics. What are ethics?

  220. The 10 commandments are the ethics.

  221. How to relate? To God first four, the other 6

  222. how to relate to. Fellow man tells you how to.

  223. Live on which our judicial system Judas pure prudent

  224. system. Is based upon the 10

  225. commandments and be introduced. To a priesthood.

  226. Aaron, Brother Moshe. Moses.

  227. Those who will. Be given a task to stand between

  228. God and man and represent both represent man to.

  229. God and God to. Man, and who does that point to?

  230. It points to in the book of Hebrews.

  231. The great high Priest Jesus, who represents us.

  232. God became a man represents us. We see God and Jesus, and Jesus

  233. represents us to God. And we'll see Moses.

  234. Moshe, Remember Moshi, Diane. The great soldier for Israel.

  235. Moses. He's the 1st.

  236. Prophet who will tell us later in Deuteronomy of.

  237. Jesus coming. Deuteronomy 1815 the.

  238. Lord, your God will raise up for you a prophet like.

  239. Me from your midst. From your brethren Him.

  240. You shall hear Jesus, Exodus chapter.

  241. One is the story and. Introduction to a time of

  242. persecution and of great oppression to the Jewish people.

  243. Man, how long has that been going for?

  244. It tells us the story as to why the Israelites.

  245. Came to need a deliverer when Joseph arrived in.

  246. Egypt as a slave, remember? He'd been.

  247. Sold by his brothers, he was a slave and he arrived arrived in.

  248. Egypt. He ends up prison.

  249. It was the 17th dynasty of Egyptian rulers.

  250. They weren't called Pharaohs as such then.

  251. Who were actually not Egyptian. The 17th dynasty.

  252. Of rules at the. Time that Joseph came into.

  253. Egypt were a tribe of people. Known as the.

  254. Hyksos people, they were shepherd.

  255. Kings. They had.

  256. They had. Overwhelmed Egypt.

  257. And taken control and they. Ruled Egypt.

  258. They were Semites and they found favour with Joseph and his

  259. people because. Also, they had a shepherding

  260. background. Joseph.

  261. He dies Genesis 50. He's 100.

  262. And 10 years old. And now?

  263. The ruler, the government. The.

  264. King of Egypt has. Changed.

  265. It's the 18th dynasty. And now the Egyptians are.

  266. Ruling their own nation. And they disliked the

  267. Israelites. Because they disliked any

  268. foreigners as they've been. Previously ruled by foreigners,

  269. they totally. Disregarded history, didn't want

  270. anything. To do with what Joseph had done

  271. and Joseph how he saved. Them because God gave him.

  272. The dream remember of the. The seasons, the good.

  273. Seasons and and the terrible. Seasons and Joseph made Egypt

  274. the the the food Bank of the world.

  275. As they stored up during the Great Famine.

  276. Verse 6 Joseph died and all his. Brothers and all that

  277. generation, so that whole generation of people that

  278. arrived at 70 dead. But the children of Israel.

  279. Were were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and

  280. multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty, and the land was.

  281. Filled with them now there. Arose a new king over.

  282. Egypt who did not know Joseph, you know, this is a very

  283. powerful verse for you and I today as to why.

  284. We here have. Taken so seriously.

  285. Calvary Chapel. To place so much.

  286. Emphasis on teaching the children the word of God.

  287. You know the children in Calvary kids are going through the book

  288. of Romans. Imagine that.

  289. What Sunday school What what junior kids get taught the book

  290. of Romans. I was getting taught how to.

  291. Colour in and play trains. On Friday night, the youth went.

  292. Through Bible Prophecy covered the overview of all Bible

  293. prophecy. You see, we take an emphasis.

  294. That's why I refer. To it now as junior church, not

  295. so much Sunday school because. We have the chairs.

  296. Set out we have a. Pulpit there as well because we

  297. want the kids to. Move smoothly from.

  298. There into here and not. Going well, don't I get?

  299. The colour anymore? Aren't I playing trains and just

  300. running around the room anymore? No, you're learning.

  301. The word of God, you're learning about Jesus Christ.

  302. So when they move. From there.

  303. There's not this big seismic. Ship of God.

  304. And what can I just run up and down the the classroom anymore

  305. and just. Play with Plasticine.

  306. And stuff. No, no, no.

  307. You're learning the Word of God and we're only we're, that's

  308. only our part the. Rest of that is your.

  309. Part at. Home to teach the Word of God to

  310. your. Children at home.

  311. Seriously, this first teaches the.

  312. Danger of how quickly this is just one generation if we.

  313. Neglect to teach the Bible to our youngest Saints the.

  314. Time will come when it will be forgotten when I went to school.

  315. 8000 years ago. Everyone in my.

  316. Class all the classes. From Grade 1 to grade.

  317. Seven knew who Jesus Christ. Was they didn't worship him.

  318. But we all went to church. We all went off.

  319. Into our groups and. Fridays we went to our.

  320. Different churches. Scripture was in church in.

  321. School now. You can go into a classroom

  322. mention. Jesus.

  323. Christ and they think that's just a swear word they know

  324. nothing about. Jesus, that's our nation.

  325. You know Coca Cola spends. A certain.

  326. Percentage from the from. The sale of every bottle.

  327. On advertising and they're asked what?

  328. Do you do this? I mean, Coca Cola?

  329. Everyone knows about COCA. Cola.

  330. It's simple because the moment we stop advertising, people

  331. forget about it. How often have you seen?

  332. Coca Cola rats they've been. On and on and.

  333. On, they're just just. Because because we forget

  334. Question why were the children of Israel?

  335. Not. Just given Canaan as God

  336. promised. He said he would.

  337. Why? Why this whole?

  338. Go to Egypt. Why don't they just go?

  339. Take the 70 and head. Straight to Canaan.

  340. Land. That's a good question.

  341. Why didn't God? Bypass Egypt and all that.

  342. Was going to happen 400 years of slavery.

  343. And let them just head. Straight into the promised land.

  344. One, there's two reasons. God was going to.

  345. Prepare his people. For the land.

  346. As God is preparing you for heaven. 70 people.

  347. Arrived in Egypt 70 the others Joseph and his two.

  348. Sons and their families and. Wives were.

  349. Already there that 70 grew in a period of 300 and. 50 to 400.

  350. Years to. #2 to 3 million people.

  351. That's a that's a big party, isn't it?

  352. That's a big family. This is the family of Jacob.

  353. Imagine all the Christmas cards he had to send out wouldn't be 5

  354. bucks and every one of those cards would be.

  355. Secondly, God had to prepare Canaan, the promised Land.

  356. For the people of. Israel in Genesis 1513.

  357. Then the Lord said to Abraham, He told Abraham, this is what's

  358. happening. You can be.

  359. Sure that your. Descendants, in other words.

  360. It's going to happen. Will be strangers in a foreign

  361. land. Where they will be oppressed.

  362. This is what's going to happen. As slaves, so this is told way

  363. back before even. Jacobs.

  364. Walking around for 400. Years.

  365. This is what's going to happen. But I will punish the nation

  366. that enslaves. Them, and in the end, they.

  367. Will come away with great. Wealth.

  368. As for you, you'll die in peace, Abraham.

  369. Be buried at a ripe old age after 4.

  370. Generations your descendants will returning here to this

  371. land, for the sins of the Amorites do not yet warrant.

  372. Their destruction, that's the. Owners, occupants of Canaan land

  373. at this time. You see God.

  374. Used Egypt as God. Used.

  375. Babylon to be a tool. To prepare the people of Israel.

  376. In the new King James it says for the.

  377. Iniquity of the. Amorites is not yet complete.

  378. What does that mean? God will wait 4. 100 years until

  379. he. Judges the the.

  380. Canaanites, those living in Canaan.

  381. He gave them 400. Years what, what for to.

  382. Repent to turn to Him. 400. Years is that you think?

  383. That's. Pretty good grace.

  384. Is that long suffering? Because you know, you'll read

  385. later on as the Joshua goes into canal and.

  386. We've got these people, we've got to take them out.

  387. Why they had to be? Taken out because.

  388. After 400. Years, God says this, people are

  389. so deprived, so evil, so wicked that they must be eradicated

  390. completely, or else they will wickedly.

  391. Poison and permeate. All.

  392. Those who come in contact with them.

  393. Can't have the children of Israel, people of God mixing.

  394. Because the poison will come in. And so that's.

  395. Why when they moved in? To Canaan land, the people had

  396. to be taken out. When you're talking wicked, you

  397. and I can't even comprehend the wickedness.

  398. You need to research that yourself, so.

  399. What? What does?

  400. What does Pharaoh do? How does God work this?

  401. Persecution one comes into being 8 to 13.

  402. Persecution. The first there's going to be 3.

  403. But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased

  404. abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty.

  405. You know the land was. Filled with them, the people.

  406. Grew in number, that is. The people of Israel because

  407. God's blessing was over. Them remember back in Genesis?

  408. Be fruitful and multiply. Well, Israel.

  409. Is is that is that people? And plus, they're in the land of

  410. Goshen. They're in peace.

  411. They're in. Like a.

  412. A green room of growth. These people can.

  413. Grow. There's no no wars.

  414. They got their. Fields.

  415. They've been looked after. In the they're the best.

  416. Country in the world. At that time, so they.

  417. Begin to prosper, they grow. But it was predicated on God's

  418. blessing. His promise to.

  419. Abraham They didn't. They didn't.

  420. Prosper because they were good at it.

  421. They prosper because God. Bless them.

  422. Genesis 12, verse 2. I will make you a great nation.

    Genesis 12:2

  423. God said to Abraham. I will bless you and make your

  424. name great. You shall be a blessing.

  425. Genesis 15 Five. Then he brought him outside.

  426. Abraham Abraham, come outside. Hey, look at the look at the

  427. night sky, look at the heaven. Count the stars if you're able

  428. if you've ever been out in the. Desert and seen the stars.

  429. At night, man, it's amazing. And he said to him, God.

  430. Said to Abraham, so shall your descendants be.

  431. And it says Abraham believed in the Lord.

  432. This is where Abraham was saved, and he accounted it.

  433. God accounted it to him. For.

  434. Righteousness. Now think about.

  435. This, he says, Abraham, you're going to have more descendants

  436. than all the. Stars in the sky.

  437. Guess what? It's not.

  438. Until Genesis 21 that Abraham even has one child.

  439. Abraham says. Wow, really Lord?

  440. Awesome. That's the faith of Abraham.

  441. Isn't he? He doesn't even have a child and

  442. he's an old dude. Now, 400 years later, from 70

  443. people now 2 to 3 million. Verse 8.

  444. Now there. Arose a new king over.

  445. Egypt, who did not know? Joseph and he said to his

  446. people, Look, the children of the people of Israel.

  447. Are more and mightier than we, you know.

  448. Australia has forgotten. Its heritage, as did.

  449. The Egyptians, they forgot Joseph.

  450. All that he did saving them from starvation.

  451. They'd be just like all the other crew.

  452. Except for Joseph in 1917. The title of Australia was

  453. first. Used 1817 a hundred.

  454. And 60. 1000 convicts were sent. Here in the 1st 80 years.

  455. Of European. Settling.

  456. We talk about slavery. This is what Australia is.

  457. We were white. Slaves.

  458. These convicts, if you read your history and those who arrive

  459. with them, took their priorities from the Bible.

  460. Did you know that? Trusting in the God whom they

  461. knew in. Jesus Christ.

  462. Believing that the way to build a nation.

  463. Was to serve God. And live for eternity the.

  464. First public church service took.

  465. Place in Australia on Sunday. At. 10 AM.

  466. February the 3rd. 1788 under a great big tree by the Sydney

  467. Harbour. You see, you and I, we've

  468. forgotten our heritage as a nation.

  469. Verse 10. Pharaoh says come let.

  470. Us deal shrewdly with these the Jews, lest they multiply.

  471. And it happened. In the event.

  472. Of war, that they also. Join our enemies and fight.

  473. Against us, and so go. Up out of the land.

  474. Therefore they set taskmasters over them.

  475. To afflict them with their. Burdens they built for Pharaoh.

  476. This is the Jews. Supply cities, whole cities

  477. Python. Ramses verse 12, but the.

  478. More they afflicted them, the more.

  479. They multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the

  480. children of Israel. So the Egyptians made the.

  481. Children of Israel serve with rigour.

  482. That word rigour means cruelty. Severity.

  483. And they made their lives. Bitter with hard.

  484. Bondage in mortar, in brick. There is archaeological evidence

  485. that you can see where they built all the.

  486. Bricks in Egypt? With bricks.

  487. With straw. And then later on there's a.

  488. Section where they began to. Build the bricks without straw.

  489. To make it even harder. For them to make the bricks.

  490. In mortar and brick, and in all manner of.

  491. Service in the field, all their service in which they made them

  492. serve was with rigour, was with cruelty.

  493. Severity. We have a.

  494. Jewish problem. Ever heard those words before?

  495. Jewish problem in Israel. In Egypt in World War.

  496. Two, Hitler saw what he called. The Jewish problem in Europe

  497. hated them. He saw the Jewish people.

  498. Who were? Very good at business, acquiring

  499. wealth and. Prominence and Hitler

  500. introduced. What was called the Final

  501. Solution? It was Pharaoh who introduced it

  502. before Hitler. Did you know that?

  503. But that is just. From the human perspective, the.

  504. Persecution of the Jewish people.

  505. There is a. Far greater view of this.

  506. Situation. That you need to be.

  507. Aware of as we're seeing. In our world.

  508. Today, which we'll get to. Behind the scenes of the

  509. Egyptian court rules, God is allowing them to do this.

  510. He didn't 'cause it. He didn't make it.

  511. But he is. Allowing the Egyptians to.

  512. Rule and to enslave. Who were once just dwellers.

  513. In Egypt now to be slaves. And workers and treated with

  514. cruelty. God is.

  515. Allowing this? Why is he allowing?

  516. This because. God is pulling the strings.

  517. It's time to make things. To happen, the end of the 400

  518. years is coming. And so he allows.

  519. The persecution for his purpose, He didn't 'cause it.

  520. God is stirring up Pharaoh. Pharaoh says we got a problem

  521. because God wants these. People out of Egypt and into the

  522. promised. Land.

  523. It's time to move. Romans 917.

  524. Paul writes for the scripture says to the Pharaoh.

  525. For this very purpose. I have raised you up.

  526. That I may show you my. Power in you.

  527. And that my name may be. Declared and all the earth.

  528. The only reason there is an Egypt.

  529. It's because of. Israel, did you see that?

  530. God raised up. Egypt just for this time, Yes,

  531. we're to pray for our. Politicians, but remember.

  532. And I think I'm so. Thankful they are just pieces.

  533. On God's chess board pieces on God's chess board.

  534. You know where you get. Your information on.

  535. What's happening in the world? Get it from the word of God, not

  536. from. Politicians or from the media?

  537. In Daniel chapter 4, Nebuchadnezzar has a dream.

    Daniel 4 chapter mention

  538. He sees this great tree. And he?

  539. Goes through this dream and sees this great tree.

  540. Growing and. It's cut down and.

  541. He says to Daniel. Daniel, what's this dream about?

  542. He tells Daniel the dream, He says Nebuchadnezz, you're you're

  543. the tree. You're the man unless you

  544. change. Unless you acknowledge.

  545. God. That he has given you this

  546. Kingdom, this. Power.

  547. And then in Daniel chapter. 4. We read that one day.

  548. Nebuchadnezzar is out in the palace.

  549. He. Says look at this Babylon.

  550. Woo Hoo. Hanging.

  551. Gardens we have the the. River flows from the city, the

  552. great walls. I have built this and.

  553. At that moment, it says, while the word was still in the King's

  554. mouth, Daniel 431, a voice fell from heaven.

  555. King Nebuchadnezzar. To you it has spoken.

  556. The Kingdom has. Departed from you, you see, God

  557. raises up. Kingdoms.

  558. And he pulls them down. God is moving his pieces today,

  559. just as He. Did in Egypt and in.

  560. Babylon and he's moving the pieces in our Australian

  561. political world and I can't. Understand what God is doing,

  562. but God knows what he's doing. But Israel?

  563. Prospered the more, Pharaoh thought.

  564. That hard work poverty would gradually reduce the Israelite

  565. numbers. The workers, the Hebrew slaves,

  566. were sent N 1st. Fly in fly outs.

  567. To they had to walk there they were sent.

  568. North, away from their families. To the cities of.

  569. Python And Ramses, they sent them away from their families.

  570. You know what? There's a reason for this.

  571. Husbands away. From their wives, fathers away.

  572. From their families, mothers away from their children to.

  573. Cut down time together, limiting time for the Jewish.

  574. People to conceive children and to nurture them.

  575. To raise them. Also, they're agricultural.

  576. People, they didn't go down. The shop and.

  577. Get their food. They had to grow their own and

  578. to look after themselves. The agricultural food,

  579. sustenance would suffer. You can't be a.

  580. Farmer, You can't be a shepherd and a brickmaker.

  581. A. Slave at the same time can't do

  582. both. Hopefully that would starve

  583. those with ill health because of the rig of the cruelty of the

  584. slavery they would just by. Natural attrition be wiped out

  585. and so many would die. That was the plan.

  586. Paris is a good plan, but. The oppression policy

  587. persecution failed the more. The persecution, the greater the

  588. population growth. Now how does this happen?

  589. There's only one. Answer apart from the eyes of

  590. faith, God's promises, God's power.

  591. There is no other explanation. For how this could happen.

  592. To an oppressed slave. Driven, persecuted people and

  593. they flourished. God turned the.

  594. Egyptian persecution policy against them, verse 12.

  595. But the more they afflicted. Them the.

  596. More, they multiplied and grew. That's staggering.

  597. You see, persecution always brings real growth to the Church

  598. of Jesus. Christ, China, Russia,

  599. underground churches. Proliferate.

  600. Grow. The Church is strong.

  601. Anywhere. Where the church is persecuted.

  602. Persecution always separates the chaff from the wheat in Russia.

  603. A group of believers were gathered together quietly.

  604. In a home. Scared because it was against.

  605. The law to gather, to proclaim the gospel.

  606. Two soldiers burst. In in uniform guns.

  607. They said who here? Is a Christian and who's?

  608. Not if you're not a Christian. You can leave.

  609. You get the choice to leave those who are Christians.

  610. You stay and people bailed. I'm.

  611. Not a Christian anymore. Took off, closed the doors and

  612. the two Russian. Soldiers put their guns down, he

  613. says. Now that they're gone, tell us,

  614. how do we know Jesus Christ? It separates the chalk from the

  615. wheat. Those not truly born again.

  616. Followers of Christ bail. No other people other than

  617. Israel has suffered as much. As they have. 400.

  618. Years of slavery, 2 deportations.

  619. Babylon. Rome 2.

  620. Total destructions, 2000 years of dispersion and the Holocaust

  621. 6. Million murdered by the Nazis.

  622. Satan has targeted God's people. From the book of Genesis.

  623. First attempt when Satan knew deliverance would come through a

  624. promised child. What does he do?

  625. He gets. Cain to kill Abel.

  626. Maybe able's the problem? Wipe him out.

  627. That's it. Satan then corrupts the whole

  628. world. So that it says that.

  629. Every man's imagination was continually evil, but.

  630. There was. Noah and his three sons.

  631. Misses Noah and their wives, but Noah one of the. 8 survived.

  632. God must judge the world. The flood.

  633. Comes man, that was nearly the end.

  634. Later in Bethlehem. The.

  635. Messiah is to come born. Through the line of David.

  636. Satan. Will kill all.

  637. The Jewish children born in Bethlehem.

  638. The persecution of the Jewish people.

  639. Is and if anyone you. Speak to says.

  640. Well, the Israelis. Let them know.

  641. Guess. Guess what?

  642. Hold on a minute. I said this at the.

  643. Football club one time. The reason?

  644. The Jews. Are persecuted is it's satanic.

  645. That's the reason. It's not racist.

  646. It's not this tribe against another tribe.

  647. It's satanic when we see people. Protesting.

  648. Guess what? Satan is driving those protests.

  649. The spirit of that protest? From the river to the.

  650. Sea it's. Annihilation.

  651. Who would do? That what other?

  652. People say let's annihilate everyone that's in Indonesia,

  653. You wouldn't get away. With it are they?

  654. Doing it on our streets and our nation and around the world.

  655. Because Satan is on the. Case.

  656. He wants Israel eliminated. Why?

  657. Because if God's plan. Of redemption depended upon a

  658. nation, and it does. And the continuance of that

  659. nation and it does. If you could destroy that

  660. nation, then it will. Thwart God's.

  661. Plan of salvation. Only Israel is that nation.

  662. This is. Where in the future?

  663. Days we will see the Church of Australia.

  664. Truly grow when we are. Persecuted as well.

  665. Church Growth. Here will come when it.

  666. Becomes. Tough to be a Christian.

  667. So, Pharaoh, it hasn't worked. Persecution #2.

  668. Population control let's. Bring that in verse 15, then the

  669. king of Egypt. Spoke to the Hebrew midwives.

  670. Of. Whom the name of 1?

  671. Was Shipra and the name? Of the other.

  672. Poor and he said, when you. Do the duties of midwife for the

  673. Hebrew women. And see see.

  674. Them on their birth stools if it is a son.

  675. Then you shall kill him. But if it is a daughter, then

  676. she shall. Live when you see.

  677. Whether at the birth of the child, whether it's a.

  678. Male or a female? You make the decision.

  679. It's a command by. Pharaoh, the Direct.

  680. Killing of Israelite male infants.

  681. Guess what? God would.

  682. Remember this and bring it. Back on the Egyptians when?

  683. Passover, Passover. Why kill males only?

  684. Would that not deplete the slave workforce?

  685. Kill the males, because it's only males.

  686. Who go to war? That's what they're worried

  687. about. Verse 17 but.

  688. We see this word. Often in chapter 1, but.

  689. The midwives. Feared God and did not.

  690. Do as the king of Egypt commanded them.

  691. But save the male. Children alive.

  692. Amazing, but the. Midwives.

  693. Hebrew midwives fear God. They obeyed.

  694. God over Pharaoh, Peter and John were called in, Remember.

  695. Stop preaching Jesus. We'll belt you and we'll put you

  696. in prison, probably kill you, whether you think it's right for

  697. us to obey you or not. And this is the first case we

  698. see where it's. Civil disobedience is the right

  699. thing to do. We're told to obey the.

  700. Laws of the Land in the Book of Romans.

  701. As long as those laws. Don't go against.

  702. God's law. This law is higher.

  703. So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them.

  704. Why have you done this? Thing and save the male.

  705. Children. Alive.

  706. Now they're in trouble. You get in trouble when you obey

  707. God it. Comes with the 2.

  708. Don't. Don't you?

  709. Know, oh, I don't know what's going.

  710. On I'm Just a Christian. And I seem to think.

  711. You're going to get it. It's what happens.

  712. Remember, where, where, where the where the thorn in the flesh

  713. of the world. Here at the moment verse. 19 and

  714. the what now? Before they kick to Pharaoh.

  715. Remember, many years have passed.

  716. Since the King's. Decree to kill all Hebrew.

  717. Born Infants. The king summons them to.

  718. Appear before him personally. Wow, he wants answers.

  719. Prior to their. Execution verse 19 and the

  720. midwives said to. Pharaoh.

  721. Well, because the Hebrew. Women are not.

  722. Like the Egyptian women? For they are lively and give

  723. birth before the. Midwives come to them.

  724. Therefore, God dealt with the midwives because of their

  725. obedience. And the people multiplied and

  726. grew very mighty. Notice they're continuing to

  727. grow no matter what. Happens.

  728. And so it was because the midwives feared God, because the

  729. midwives feared God that he provided.

  730. Households for them in other. Words.

  731. Midwives. Were normally women couldn't

  732. have. Children.

  733. And what happened? That's it.

  734. Because what you've done, you're going to have kids.

  735. And they had. Kids, the blessing of children

  736. came. So the midwives had.

  737. Years to prepare their response. They knew what was coming.

  738. Now. Was what they said a?

  739. Lie. I don't think so.

  740. Because there was a very real cultural difference that

  741. existed. Between the Israelite and

  742. Egyptian women and birthing. The Hebrew women had a family

  743. style of birthing. In other words, they were very

  744. much involved personally, Egyptian.

  745. Women took on a minimal. Role in birthing.

  746. It was like they just said. Midwives do everything, I'm just

  747. help. The midwives did everything in

  748. the delivery of Egyptian. Infants.

  749. That's how the culture. Was but.

  750. Israeli women played an active role in the delivery of their

  751. own children. And the midwives just were on

  752. hand only played a minimal role. In other words, the the

  753. midwives. What they did also is.

  754. That they took time in. Getting to the births

  755. deliberately. Hello.

  756. Yeah, and. I know they don't have phones

  757. and they don't have coffee shops, but midwives?

  758. Yeah, but Charles coming, right, we'll be leaving.

  759. In now we. Just got another cappuccino

  760. coming. We'll be there in a bit.

  761. Took their time to get there. Went lying.

  762. We're on our way. Just got to stop off and get

  763. some new shoes. From a donkey.

  764. Get to it. We're there, we're nearly there,

  765. we're getting here. And they said don't.

  766. Call us before the. Baby actually comes.

  767. Don't call us before the baby, actually.

  768. Comes and so the midwives received a blessing from God.

  769. For their courageous obedience. Midwives did not.

  770. Normally, as I said, have their own children.

  771. What does it? Mean to fear God that these

  772. midwives did. They feared God instead of

  773. Pharaoh. To fear God means this it is.

  774. Believing in God. And therefore fearing the

  775. consequences of not pleasing him.

  776. You know, I grew up in a home when my dad I feared my dad I

  777. wanted. To do the right thing because.

  778. I didn't want to have. The fear of not pleasing.

  779. Him, but with. God, it's it's that's similar

  780. but but there's more to. It I don't want to not please

  781. God because I love him and he cares for us.

  782. I worship him. And so the midwife said no, we

  783. want to please you, Lord. Persecution #3 last one.

  784. Pharaoh calls. In a national action against.

  785. The Jews. OK, we'll get this sorted.

  786. Verse 22. So Pharaoh.

  787. Commanded Notice he's been doing a lot of commands all.

  788. His people saying this. Every son who was born.

  789. That's Jewish. You shall cast.

  790. Into the river and every. Daughter you shall save alive.

  791. All Egyptians were to Join Now in the killing.

  792. Of all Israelite newborn boys genocide, why throw?

  793. Them into the Nile. I mean.

  794. Ever thought about that? Why not just put them to death,

  795. however? Why?

  796. Why throw them into the Nile? What does that come into it?

  797. Why not just kill them by other means one?

  798. It was a. Convenient and considered clean.

  799. Perceived way to kill infants. All of Egypt, by the way, also

  800. lived. On the banks of the Nile. 2 It

  801. shifted some of the. Blame.

  802. Because of the way the. Pantheistic Egyptians viewed.

  803. The Nile as a God. Therefore I throw a child.

  804. Into the Nile, if the Nile was to.

  805. Receive the child. In other words, the child.

  806. Drowns. Well, it's the.

  807. Nile. It's the God of the.

  808. Nile, not me. I'm just, you know, placing

  809. there. At least to some degree.

  810. Represents the gods, Niles. Judgement rather than he or.

  811. She who? Cast.

  812. The infant into the waters. There was an irony that.

  813. God would bring up to. This as well, which God would

  814. wash back over the Egyptians after Pharaoh gave this.

  815. Command the children of Israel being LED out by Moshe.

  816. Moses, and they come. To the Red Sea can't pass.

  817. In this picture there, you know the story.

  818. We'll get to it yet. Moses prays in the ocean.

  819. Divides the children of Israel. Go pass and check in Pharaoh's

  820. army, his whole army, all his young men, young boys that had

  821. grown up in that time to be men. Soldiers in Pharaoh's.

  822. Army, God drown them. Exodus 15 for Pharaoh's Chariots

  823. and his army. He God has cast.

  824. Them into the sea Notice. His chosen captains are also

  825. drowned. In the Red Sea.

  826. So as we wrap. This up Exodus one what have we

  827. learnt 1. God's power has seen.

  828. In the wonderful. Increase of Israel, but Israel?

  829. Prospered and grew. In spite of all that, Egypt

  830. through them. How?

  831. Often in your life. Maybe your kids come up from

  832. school and. Say these are tough.

  833. Or you come up from work, say to you what man the boss is.

  834. Hard on me. He rides me and rails me and man

  835. it's just on. Guess what?

  836. God's power. Is there available?

  837. View for you to grow and increase during that time of

  838. persecution in. Spite of all that, Egypt.

  839. Threw at you secondly. God's purpose as seen in the

  840. beautiful preservation of Israel.

  841. We fear we people. Fear.

  842. Well, what's going to happen with the war in Iran?

  843. You know, prices are, you know, again, mortgages go up.

  844. Are we going to be able to survive?

  845. I mean. Can I give it the?

  846. Church to what's going to. Happen and here's where this.

  847. Whole site just just spews out all this stuff.

  848. And here's what the Bible. Tells us to do seek ye. 1st The

  849. Kingdom of God and his righteousness and he'll.

  850. Look, after all, the best. Rest, Jesus said.

  851. Look at the. Flowers in the field.

  852. God looks after them. Look at the birds of the air.

  853. I've never heard I was. Looking at and there.

  854. Was a pink and grey. Glass, I Unchained the chains

  855. here early this morning, looking up.

  856. I was talking to him. He wasn't talking back.

  857. I didn't say. Hey man, what's happening with

  858. Iran? There's no like what's what's

  859. going to happen with all the birds seed?

  860. We're not going to get bird seed.

  861. All the boys come down from the Bush and we're there when we're

  862. struggling. We've got no diesel in the.

  863. Bush the birds. Birds of the air Jesus says you

  864. are a much more worth than the birds of the air, hey?
