  1. This is living. Waters of Grace, the teaching

  2. ministry of Lewis Harold, assistant pastor of Calvary

  3. Chapel of Westmoreland County in Greensburg, PA.

  4. Now here's Pastor Lewis as he continues teaching through God's

  5. Word. I pray that somebody will say,

  6. you know what? Enough of this lying to myself,

  7. enough of this living this life of sin, enough of being in

  8. bondage to something that I will never ever be able to pull

  9. myself out of. Freedom only comes through Jesus

  10. Christ, Jesus says in John 8. He said that if the sun sets you

  11. free, you will be free. Indeed, He's the only one that

  12. can set us free. Sometimes, when the struggles of

  13. our daily lives become overwhelming, we forget that

  14. we're not alone. We often overlook the fact that

  15. there's someone with open arms who wants us to know that this

  16. battle doesn't have to be so hard.

  17. In today's message, Pastor Lewis encourages you to give your life

  18. to Jesus. Allow him to be your strong

  19. tower, your rock, your shoulder to lean on in the Lord of your

  20. life. Trust that with his guidance,

  21. you can navigate through life's challenges with renewed hope and

  22. purpose. Now here's Pastor Lewis in Jude

  23. chapter one with today's edition of Living Waters of Grace.

  24. This is the point of example. He delivered them all.

  25. All of them, and they all went into the wilderness on their

  26. way, going to the promised land. They all did.

  27. But while they were in the wilderness he destroyed those

  28. who did not believe because of unbelief.

  29. They were judged and they were destroyed and because of their

  30. and it came in a lot of different ways.

  31. It came in rejection, it came in rebellion, it came in sexual

  32. morality, all kind of ways of just not trusting the those

  33. Caleb and and Joshua, when they went in to spy out the land.

  34. And when they went to spy out the land, they came back and

  35. gave a report and said, look, we can go in and take it.

  36. The other people that was there said, no, we can't take it

  37. because they're too much for us. And because of their unbelief,

  38. they didn't go in. So the first generation of that

  39. group in Egypt, none of them went in besides Joshua and

  40. Caleb. It was their children who ended

  41. up going into the promised land. Their children.

  42. None of them went in because they were judged because of

  43. unbelief. Let's not have unbelief in our

  44. hearts to miss what it is God wants to do for us.

  45. Even as the the centurion said one day, he said, look, I

  46. believe, but help my unbelief. And we all have some areas of

  47. unbelief, if we're honest with ourselves.

  48. And you find out those areas of unbelief whenever adversity hits

  49. US and it hits US hard sometimes and it's hard for us to believe

  50. that God will pull us out of this or even can pull us out of

  51. this like, oh, I'm doomed. This is not going to end right?

  52. And we take our eyes off of him and we started looking at people

  53. who can help me with this. What can I do for myself to pull

  54. myself out of this? Let's not be caught in unbelief.

  55. And then the next example he uses, he uses the example of the

  56. angels. And he said then the angels who

  57. did not keep their proper domain, but left their own

  58. abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under

  59. darkness. So you went from the children of

  60. Israel to now he and, and how they were judged because of

  61. their unbelief. And now he goes to the angels,

  62. these angels and, and, and what we have to understand is that

  63. angels have free will. Angels have free will and, and

  64. Satan himself have free will. And he chose to rebel against

  65. God, to rebelled against God. And because of that, he and the

  66. angels who rebelled with him, which was 1/3 the Bible tells us

  67. we're cast out of heaven. We're cast out of heaven.

  68. They decided that they wanted their will and not God's will.

  69. They wanted to do what they wanted to do and not do what God

  70. wanted them to do. Oh, they had a proper domain.

  71. They had a place in heaven. They were there, but they turned

  72. away from them, turned away from God to follow their own will, to

  73. follow their own heart. And the Bible says as a result

  74. of that, He now has them reserved in everlasting chains

  75. under darkness for the judgment of the great day.

  76. Just think about that. Because they were looking to

  77. have a life of freedom to do what they wanted to do, to live

  78. their own free will and not surrender to the will of God.

  79. They still end up in bondage. They still don't have any

  80. freedom. They're in the darkness, chained

  81. darkness because of their decisions to live their own life

  82. the way they want to live it. But you know what?

  83. That's no different than what we have and where we are when we

  84. lived according to our own desires, when we lived according

  85. to our own will, and we thought we have, we were having freedom.

  86. We were living freedom. Oh my, I want to do what I want

  87. to do. I don't want nobody giving me

  88. rules and telling me what to do. Come in when I want to come in,

  89. go where I want to go and do what I want to do.

  90. We thought we had freedom, but we were in bondage to the very

  91. sin that we gave ourselves to. And today I just want to say

  92. that maybe someone can hear this.

  93. You know, we think it's freedom to live in our own free will,

  94. but God gives us His word that we obey for our protection.

  95. Obedience is for the purpose of our protection.

  96. That's why we want our kids to obey us, because it protects

  97. them. Because we know, we've seen,

  98. we've experienced, and we want to protect our kids.

  99. So we give them structure, we give them guidelines, we give

  100. them dare say it rules, but it's for the purpose of protecting

  101. them. It's not to harm them.

  102. It's not to stop them from having fun.

  103. It's to protect them. God gives them to us, and it's

  104. when we reject that protection, it's when we reject His will for

  105. our lives, that we find ourselves in bondage to the very

  106. sin that we give ourselves to. That's what happened with these

  107. angels. And then in verse 7, it says

  108. that Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, in a similar

  109. manner to these, having giving themselves over to sexual

  110. immorality and going after strange flesh, are set forth as

  111. an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

  112. The vengeance of eternal fire. Very interesting.

  113. And he says that these the Sodom and Gomorrah, Sodom and Gomorrah

  114. very interesting because what Sodom and Gomorrah was actually

  115. destroyed for was their immoral, sexual, immoral lifestyles and

  116. their, their desire to go after what it calls here in in my

  117. version says strange flesh. Other versions may say unnatural

  118. desire. Some may even say perversion.

  119. They, they, they, they sought perversion, strange flesh, same

  120. sex relationships and so forth. And you know it, it talks about

  121. it back in Leviticus. You know it, it gives a number

  122. of scriptures concerning God's attitude and his position on

  123. sexual immorality, particularly homosexuality specifically talks

  124. about that. I'm not going to read all of

  125. those all of those scriptures, but I am going to read the

  126. verses because and the reason why is because I want you to arm

  127. yourself is because there's a lot a lot of people in society

  128. today isn't an interesting thing that God destroys Sodom and

  129. Gomorrah from We actually this country actually embraces today.

  130. Try to normalize it and God is saying no, it's an abomination

  131. to me. Don't go in and do what the

  132. inhabitants of this land did. It's an abomination.

  133. It's sin. This country embraces it, even

  134. celebrates it and call it pride, which is exactly what it is.

  135. Because they're so prideful that they won't humble themselves.

  136. We're so prideful sometimes that we don't humble ourselves before

  137. the Lord. Thank you, thank God for grace,

  138. Amen. Because the truth is, is that

  139. even if they would turn and repent, if the children of

  140. Israel would have turned and repented, God would have

  141. forgiven them. If the people in Sodom and

  142. Gomorrah would have repented, God would have forgiven them.

  143. He told Abraham, he said, look, if I find Ted, they started at

  144. 50. He said, I'll tell you what, if

  145. I find 1010 righteous people in the cities of Sodom and

  146. Gomorrah, I won't destroy it. There wasn't 10 people in Sodom

  147. and Gomorrah that did not pray that would repent does not

  148. wasn't 10 and it was destroyed by fire.

  149. So I want to read these verses so you can have them if you want

  150. to write them down, put them in your phone however you want to

  151. do it. But the first one is Leviticus

    Leviticus 18 chapter mention

  152. chapter 18 and verse 22. Also in Leviticus chapter 20 and

    Leviticus 20 chapter mention

  153. verse 13, also in the and then in Romans chapter 1 and verse 26

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  154. and 27, First Timothy chapter 1 and verse 10, and even in the

    1 Timothy 1 chapter mention

  155. book of Revelations chapter 21 and verse 8.

    Revelation 21 chapter mention

  156. But then there's another scripture that I actually want

  157. to read, this one because not only does it shows God's

  158. righteousness, but it also shows His grace.

  159. It shows His grace. And this is First Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  160. chapter 6 beginning at verse 9. And he says this.

  161. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the

  162. Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived.

  163. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers.

  164. Here we go. Nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

  165. nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkers, nor revilers, nor

  166. extortioners will inherit the Kingdom of God.

  167. Cannot make it any clearer of what God feels about that sexual

  168. and moral sin. Not only that one, but it's not,

  169. not not only when they listed you listed others, but that one

  170. was listed as well. But this is the part that gives

  171. me hope. This is the part that should

  172. give us all hope. In verse 11 he says, and such

  173. were some of you and search were some of you.

  174. One of these in here captures some of all of us at one point.

  175. And such were some of you. But that's why I like the butts

  176. in the Bible. But you were washed.

  177. You were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of

  178. our Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

  179. So that is not a permanent condition for you to be a

  180. homosexual. I'm sorry that people feel like

  181. it is. It's not.

  182. You can be delivered because Jesus says, you know, I mean,

  183. the Bible says here and such were some of you.

  184. So he delivered them, They were delivered, they were washed from

  185. it, they were sanctified and they were justified.

  186. That means they were declared righteous and that by the Spirit

  187. in the name of Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

  188. I just pray that we understand that God is serious about sin.

  189. He is serious about sin. He desires for us to obey Him,

  190. but even more important is that there's grace there for all of

  191. us, no matter what our sin is, no matter how long we've been

  192. doing the sin, no matter what people call you concerned ought.

  193. He ain't going to never change. She ain't going to never change.

  194. No, you can. God can change you.

  195. The Spirit of the Holy, the Spirit of God can come in and

  196. cleanse you and make you new. If any man be in Christ, he is a

  197. new creature, a new creation. Old things are passed away.

  198. That means to die. They're passed away, passed

  199. away, mean and died and now all things are become new, new.

  200. It's a new you. And we all have that in Christ

  201. Jesus. And the next line says, and all

  202. things are of God, thank you Jesus, thank you Lord.

  203. But it's because of this sin that the day is so special.

  204. Our Palm Sunday, Jude took us back into the history and showed

  205. us from the Old Testament God's righteousness and how He will

  206. judge sin. He showed us that through the

  207. example of the Israelites, the example even of the angels, and

  208. the example also of those in Sodom and Gomorrah.

  209. And that's why it was so important that Jesus Christ

  210. came. If you ever have anybody that

  211. tell me that they don't tell you, they don't know the

  212. significance of Jesus Christ and him coming, come here, take them

  213. here. Because some of these sins we're

  214. still doing today. All these sins we're still doing

  215. today, we're still rejecting them.

  216. We're still living in sexual immorality.

  217. We're still dealing with unbelief, but Jesus Christ came

  218. so that we be forgiven of our sins and the hostility that we

  219. had against God the Father, it's now we now have peace with him

  220. because of Jesus Christ. Bible says back in the book of

  221. Luke and also in the book of Matthew, when he talked about

  222. the triumphant entry and when he talked about the triumphant

  223. injury. We, we, you know, we're talking

  224. about Jesus Christ who told the disciples that day to go on in

  225. to Jerusalem when they got to Beth Fetch.

  226. It's going to go over to the city or over or to the village

  227. next to you and I want you to find a coat.

  228. There's a coat that's going to be tied there.

  229. The coat or the the, the the foal of a donkey.

  230. No one's ever ridden on this thing.

  231. I want you to go bring it to me. They said, wait a minute, we

  232. can't go and take somebody's donkey.

  233. It's just like you or use Clark's example.

  234. You out there looking at his car, you get ready to take his

  235. car. He come out and say, hey, what

  236. are you trying to do with my car?

  237. That's what they were asked, just what Jesus was telling them

  238. to do. But see, what they didn't

  239. understand is that Jesus had already worked in the heart of

  240. the owner of that donkey. So he said, no, go ahead and

  241. tell them if anybody asks you why are you taking that donkey,

  242. you tell them that the Lord has need of it.

  243. Now, I don't know if that's going to work with Clark's car.

  244. So, so don't y'all go out there and car his car trying to get in

  245. his car and then say, hey, the Lord got need of it because you

  246. want to take it on Route 30 and see what it can do.

  247. But Jesus had already worked into the heart of the owner of

  248. that donkey and said the Lord has need of it.

  249. He brought the donkey back to Jesus.

  250. They put the coats on the back of the donkey.

  251. They set Jesus on the donkey and as they're bringing him down as

  252. they can, that that descent that goes into Jerusalem.

  253. When the people finally get a chance to look up and see Jesus

  254. coming on that donkey, the Bible says they begin to shout, they

  255. begin to holler out. Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the

  256. highest. Save, save us, save me in the

  257. highest. Jesus comes down and he's riding

  258. on that donkey. And not once did he tell any of

  259. them to not worship him. That time he didn't say, no,

  260. don't tell anybody because he was presenting himself as the

  261. king. He was presenting himself as the

  262. true Messiah. David Holland out and said, Son

  263. of David, which means that you are the Messiah because we heard

  264. about you back in Zechariah. The prophet Zechariah told us

  265. that the son of David will come and he's going to be riding on

  266. his coat as he's a king. That's you, son of David.

  267. He's coming down this hill and the people were seeing him and

  268. they're crying out, but unfortunately they're crying out

  269. because they're thinking that he's coming to save them from

  270. the Roman rule that he's coming to start a revolt against the

  271. Roman government. They didn't realize that he was

  272. coming in to save them from so much more.

  273. He was coming to bring them eternal life.

  274. And they're yelling hosanna, Hosanna in the highest.

  275. He's the king and the and the Pharisees are saying rebuke your

  276. disciples. You hear what they're saying.

  277. They're calling you king. They're calling you son of

  278. David. That means they're saying that

  279. you're the Messiah, the son of the living God.

  280. And Jesus just simply said, look, if I if these keep solid,

  281. the very rocks will cry out. All of his creation worships

  282. him. So he's come in and they're

  283. waving palm branches and they're celebrating him.

  284. He knew even his disciples didn't know or understand, but

  285. he knew then in about 5 or 6 days that many of those same

  286. people who are crying out Hosanna who are calling him

  287. king. Who are praising Him and

  288. worshipping Him? Many of those same people will

  289. be crying out, Crucify Him, crucify him.

  290. But He did it. He presented himself as a lamb

  291. going to the slaughter that day. He presented himself as King.

  292. He knew what would happen, but He did it for you.

  293. He did it for you. He did it for you and you.

  294. He did it for me. He never turned back.

  295. And then of course, next Sunday we'll talk a little bit about

  296. that cross. But I'm grateful today.

  297. Praise and worship, take and come forward, please.

  298. But I'm grateful today that Jesus Christ came.

  299. Bible says over in the book of Mark that even the Son of Man

  300. did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life a

  301. ransom for many. I'm one of those many.

  302. Bible tells us that He came to seek and save that which is lost

  303. and that it's not his will that any should perish, but all will

  304. come into repentance. I thank God for that because I

  305. was a loss. I am the lost.

  306. But now I'm found and I pray today that the message reached

  307. someone's heart. I pray that somebody will say,

  308. you know what? Enough of this lying to myself,

  309. enough of this living this life of sin, enough of being in

  310. bondage to something that I will never ever be able to pull

  311. myself out of. Freedom only comes through Jesus

  312. Christ. Jesus says in John 8, He said

  313. that if the sun sets you free, you will be free.

  314. Indeed, He's the only one that can set us free.

  315. So I pray today that somebody receives His salvation, that

  316. somebody understands that it was because of the sin of those

  317. examples and the sin that we do today that He had to come.

  318. We need a Savior, we need a Savior, and Jesus Christ is that

  319. Savior. He is the way, He is the truth,

  320. and He is the life. He is that Savior.

  321. Nobody comes to God except through Him.

  322. He is that Savior. So we need to come to Him.

  323. I pray to somebody does that. You can just tell.

  324. Lord, look, I confess, I am a Sinner and I am in need of a

  325. Savior. You could just tell Him that you

  326. believe that He died for your sins.

  327. You believe that he was buried in, that he rose again on the

  328. third day and asking for forgiveness for your sins and to

  329. be your savior and to come into your heart and teach you, show

  330. you, lead you in how to live the Christian life.

  331. You won't see stars. You won't see any kind of big

  332. meteors in the sky or hear fireworks go off.

  333. You don't hear any of that, but in your soul, the Bible says

  334. when you believe that the Spirit of the Son of God comes to live

  335. in your heart and He will change you, He will change you.

  336. This has been Living Waters of Grace, a ministry of Calvary

  337. Chapel, Westmoreland in Greensburg, PA Pastor Lewis

  338. Harrell has been teaching through the book of Jude.

  339. This is a book of warning as the audience that Jude was writing

  340. to was coming under attack from false teachers.

  341. Even in the early days of the church, there were teachers who

  342. claimed to have a unique revelation from God that

  343. superseded Scripture. Pastor Lewis wants you to be

  344. sure to be on your guard against those teachers today as they

  345. will try to distract you from following the way of Jesus.

  346. By focusing on what God's Word says, you can call out false

  347. teachers for what they are and stay on the good path.
