  1. This is Living Waters of Grace, the teaching ministry of Clark

  2. Waffer, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland, County

  3. of Greensburg, PA. Now here's Pastor Clark as he

  4. continues teaching through God's Word.

  5. Christ's blood transforms us, doesn't it?

  6. It changes us. And if you're still the same and

  7. you haven't changed and something's wrong, either you

  8. haven't really been converted yet and you haven't really

  9. repented, and you haven't been born again yet and you haven't

  10. been saved. Or you have had some bad

  11. teaching and you understand all the promises that are yours in

  12. Christ Jesus. But Christ himself, He's the one

  13. that has loved you and has washed you from your sins in his

  14. blood. A Caterpillar goes into its

  15. cocoon as a crawling insect. Over the course of time, it goes

  16. through a transformative process and emerges as a new creation

  17. that we know as a butterfly. The butterfly not only looks

  18. different, but it also acts differently than it did when it

  19. was a Caterpillar. Today, Pastor Clark reminds us

  20. that we are called as believers to change the things we do, the

  21. way we think, and the way we talk with others.

  22. Once we are in Christ, it's not by our power, but by the blood

  23. of Jesus that this is accomplished.

  24. Now here's Pastor Clark in the Book of Revelation chapter one

  25. with today's edition of Living Waters of Grace.

  26. You look at someone, you say, boy, you know, they seem to have

  27. a servant heart. They care about people more than

  28. they care about themselves. But don't give that person the

  29. credit. Give Jesus a credit.

  30. He's the one through his blood that's done that in that

  31. person's heart. The person used to flip out and

  32. say all kind of angry things and had a temper that was always

  33. unruly and volatile. The person's life changes and

  34. now they're peaceful. They don't respond the same way.

  35. Why? Because of the blood of Jesus,

  36. the man or woman or teenager that used to find their kicks on

  37. pornographic imagery and sexual immorality and fornication and

  38. all the evil things that we're all capable of and many of us

  39. have committed. The blood washes us and frees us

  40. from lustful passions. The focus isn't upon you or me

  41. anymore of what I can get out of life or what's best for me, but

  42. what can I do to give my life away for the sake of Christ and

  43. the sake of others? Christ's blood transforms us,

  44. doesn't it? It changes us.

  45. And if you're still the same and you haven't changed and

  46. something's wrong, either you haven't really been converted

  47. yet and you haven't really repented, and you haven't been

  48. born again yet and you haven't been saved, or you have had some

  49. bad teaching and you understand all the promises that are yours

  50. in Christ Jesus. But Christ himself, He's the one

  51. that has loved you and has washed you from your sins in His

  52. blood. I remember that old song.

  53. Would you be free from your burden of sin?

  54. There's power in the blood, power in the blood.

  55. Would you do service for Jesus your king?

  56. There's wonderful power in the blood.

  57. There is power, power, wonder, working power in the precious

  58. blood of the lamb. There is.

  59. There's power, wonder, working power in the blood of the lamb.

  60. Really, really powerful guys. In verse 6 it says, and he's

  61. made us kings and priests to his God and Father, to him be glory

  62. and dominion forever and ever, Amen.

  63. Do you know today that we are kings and priests of the most

  64. high God? And He's made us this way so

  65. that you can represent Him to others, so that they can come

  66. and get healing from their brokenness and their ruined

  67. lives. That people you run into who

  68. know they're sick and need a physician will come to you to

  69. find out about the Savior so He can cleanse them and heal them

  70. and deliver them and save them, just like He's saved and healed

  71. and delivered you. Amen.

  72. The function of the priestly office in the Old Testament was

  73. a mediator role where the Old Testament Jews had to deal with

  74. a priest who went in and made intercession for them and made

  75. atonement on the ark for their sins.

  76. In Hebrews chapter 10/19, though, it says now we having

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  77. boldness, brethren, by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living

  78. way which he's consecrated through the veil, that is to say

  79. his flesh, we can enter in boldly by the blood of Jesus

  80. that we may find mercy and grace and help in our time of need.

  81. I like to pray for you guys and I like you to pray for me too.

  82. And sometimes can someone asks, can you pray for me?

  83. Or I'll pray for you and you pray for me and that's

  84. important. We're told to do that

  85. biblically, but getting deeper into it, you have access this

  86. like I do this like all those people we read about in the

  87. Scriptures that we are blown away at their testimonies in

  88. their lives. Sometimes we think, man, if Paul

  89. was here, if I could just get him to pray for me, there would

  90. be a lot of wonderful things that would occur.

  91. And the Bible tells us the prayers of a righteous person do

  92. avail much. But the importance of

  93. understanding that you yourself and your weakness and your sin

  94. can go right to the throne of God and walk in and he's he

  95. knows who you are and you don't have to jump through any hoops.

  96. You don't have to go through any man, any priest, any authority.

  97. You can have access directly to the throne room of God that you

  98. may find mercy and grace and help in your time of need.

  99. It tells us in first Peter 29, You are a chosen generation, a

  100. royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you

  101. may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness

  102. into his marvelous light. You guys know that about

  103. yourselves. You're a chosen generation,

  104. you're a royal priesthood. God has such pleasure in

  105. ordaining you and me for these kingly and priestly positions in

  106. his Kingdom. That's every one of us.

  107. And you might say, well, I don't feel too worthy to be a king or

  108. a priest, not based on your worthiness, guys.

  109. It's based on His gift and His love for you that he's poured

  110. this out because he loves you and every one of us from the

  111. youngest one here who's in Christ, to the oldest one here

  112. who's in Christ, are all priests and kings of the Most High God.

  113. So think about that the next time God's called you to do

  114. something. Don't think you're unworthy.

  115. Don't think you're unable or too low of a lower than scump on

  116. some of us call ourselves. Don't think that way.

  117. Realize, hey, in spite of the wacky person I am and the stupid

  118. things I've done, the mistakes I've made, and the things I may

  119. be going through now, God hasn't stripped me of this royalty that

  120. I belong to him and He belongs to me.

  121. And so we serve based upon the authority that he gives us, not

  122. on any human authority or not any human pointing out and

  123. saying, well, I think you're worthy and you're not.

  124. No, it's not about what man sees.

  125. It's about what God sees, right? He sees your heart.

  126. He knows all about you, and he's called you a chosen generation

  127. or royal priesthood, a special people.

  128. Remind yourselves of that whenever you feel condemned,

  129. whenever you feel unloved, when you feel you failed to speak

  130. that verse. Satan, you're a liar.

  131. God has called me a chosen generation.

  132. God has called me a member of his royal priesthood.

  133. I'm part of a holy nation. I'm special and you are too,

  134. right? Satan, get thee behind me.

  135. Amen. Don't listen to the lies of your

  136. conscience at times and the voice of the Evil 1 and the

  137. demonic activity that's surrounding this world that will

  138. try to give you lies. You know the devil wants you to

  139. feel so down and so defeated and so unworthy in the sense of not

  140. being able to do anything for the Kingdom because of your past

  141. or what you've done, Paul said. Forget the past, forget the

  142. things which are behind, and press toward the mark of the

  143. high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

  144. See, the devil wants you to feel that way so that you never do

  145. anything for the Kingdom, because you're thinking somehow

  146. you got to find some kind of worth in yourself.

  147. And then if you find it or you achieve it, then you think,

  148. well, now I'm ready. And God says no.

  149. All of our righteousness is like filthy rags.

  150. He doesn't want your goodness in your promises, in your

  151. righteousness. He wants the person of Christ

  152. who's in you to serve through you.

  153. And that's the big difference between religion and

  154. relationship. The resurrection of Christ, he

  155. says in John 2017. I'm ascending to my father and

  156. your father, to my God and your God.

  157. I love the fact that Christ is our example, even though he's

  158. God in the flesh, the mystery of the Trinity, God the Father, God

  159. the Son, God the Holy Spirit, there's order and Christ as he

  160. was living as a man on the earth being fully God showed us how to

  161. communicate with God, how to worship the Father, how to seek

  162. the will of the Father. Jesus said my will is to always

  163. do the will of the Father and it says after he's made us these

  164. wonderful individuals, kings and priests to his God capital H

  165. Christ is referring to the Father being his Father as well.

  166. To him be glory and dominion forever and ever.

  167. The importance of understanding God's glory, His control and his

  168. dominion, not for a little while, not for a period of time

  169. in history, but forever and ever.

  170. Amen. It tells us that same in Jude 25

  171. to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty,

  172. dominion and power, both now and forever.

  173. Again, the picture of the triune God.

  174. This is a doxology we're reading here in Revelation.

  175. There's seven doxologies to the glory of God in the Book of

  176. Revelation. This is the first one, chapter

  177. 4, verse 9. It says glory and honor and

  178. thanks. 411 power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor

  179. and glory and blessing. That's a sevenfold blessing,

  180. Chapter 513. Blessing and glory and wisdom

  181. and Thanksgiving, honor, power and might.

  182. That's another sevenfold blessing, Chapter 7, verse 12,

  183. salvation and glory, honor and power.

  184. I mean, I just love this book because it continually lifts up

  185. Christ. Christ is a center of everything

  186. that we come together each week to celebrate and to worship and

  187. to learn from and to look to. And verse 7 he says, behold, He

  188. is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who

  189. pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because

  190. of him. Even so, Amen.

  191. Christ is going to be coming and the second coming in the clouds.

  192. The Bible tells us that everyone will have the capacity to see

  193. Him. We know now with Internet and

  194. GPS and this technology, you better believe with all the

  195. satellites and the capability we have in the universe now for

  196. such a time as this, it will truly be possible for every eye

  197. to see. I mean, what's cool is when he

  198. comes back, you're not going to be sitting around.

  199. Why? Hey man, look at that.

  200. Isn't that cool? We're going to be coming back

  201. with him because this is after the Tribulation and we aren't in

  202. the tribulation. We're with the Lord and the

  203. Kingdom. So he's coming with clouds at

  204. the end of the seven-year tribulation.

  205. And this is the great theme of the book that's referred to in

  206. Daniel as the end of the 70 week period of Daniel, which refers

  207. to this tribulation. And today the human race is

  208. either looking forward to this return of Christ or they're

  209. doing everything they can to fight against it from occurring

  210. references given to this Daniel Chapter 7, verse 13 and 14.

    Daniel 7:13

  211. This is prophetical from the book of Daniel.

  212. And this is what he says. I saw in the night visions.

  213. Is he having a vision? And behold, one like the Son of

  214. Man, came with clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of Days,

  215. and they brought him near before him, and there was given him

  216. dominion and glory, and a Kingdom that all people and

  217. nations and languages should serve Him.

  218. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass

  219. away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

  220. Picturing the millennial reign and millennial Kingdom of our

  221. Savior Jesus Christ talked about way back in Daniel.

  222. Daniel 927 speaks to the final seven years when the Antichrist

  223. makes a treaty with Israel and breaks it after 3 1/2 years and

  224. persecutes Israel till he's destroyed by Christ at the

  225. battle of Armageddon. This is referred to in Matthew

  226. 2415, Revelation chapter 11-2 and three, Revelation 12/6 and

    Revelation 11 chapter mention

  227. 14, and Revelation 13 verse 5. Everything's going to look real

    Revelation 13:5

  228. great the 1st 3 1/2 years. Peace, prosperity, economic

  229. growth, everything perfect like Nirvana.

  230. Finally, peace on earth, goodwill toward men, counterfeit

  231. peace, a counterfeit throne, one who sets himself up as God, the

  232. abomination of desolation, the Antichrist who will sit himself

  233. in that temple and proclaim himself to be God.

  234. At the end of the first 3 1/2 years, the promises that he made

  235. to Israel to deceive them will be broken.

  236. And you think the Holocaust was bad?

  237. It's going to make the Holocaust look like nothing.

  238. The horror that's going to come across and upon this nation of

  239. Israel at that time. But thank God, Jesus Christ will

  240. come back and put things under His authority and His control.

  241. If you read the Matthews, flip over to Matthew just for a

  242. second. Matthew 24 verse 29 and 30.

    Matthew 24:29

  243. This gives you more context here about what's going on.

  244. It says immediately after the tribulation of those days, the

  245. sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.

  246. The stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens

  247. will be shaken. Then the sun of the Son of Man

  248. will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will

  249. mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of

  250. heaven with power and great glory. 2531 to slip over. 1

  251. chapter. When the Son of Man comes in His

  252. glory and all the holy angels with him, then He will sit on

  253. the throne of His glory, and he'll obviously at that time

  254. establish His Kingdom in Jerusalem.

  255. He will rule and reign there literally for 1000 years.

  256. It says that even those who were responsible for crucifying him.

  257. Of course, that's all of us, but the Jews in particular.

  258. It says in the book of the Acts that you know the the travesty

  259. of the injustice of what happened to Christ.

  260. Even though it was a sovereign decree of God, and God said that

  261. Christ is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the earth, it

  262. didn't prevent the responsibility and the judgment

  263. upon those who took Him. It says by their own evil hands

  264. and purposed in their own evil hearts to crucify Him, the Lord

  265. of glory. But this is what will happen to

  266. those who are on the face of the earth at this time that have

  267. heard the history and they've heard the preaching during the

  268. tribulation. Many have heard the preaching

  269. before the tribulation, but they never came to Christ.

  270. So they weren't raptured out. They weren't taken out prior to

  271. the bowls of wrath of God being poured out upon the earth.

  272. It says, And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced,

  273. and they shall mourn for Him as one who mourns for his only son.

  274. That's from Zechariah chapter 1210.

  275. You can compare it out to Revelation 17 and Zechariah 13.

  276. Six. It says, And one shall say to

  277. him, What are these wounds on your hands?

  278. He shall answer those with which I was wounded in the House of my

  279. friends. The Bible says He came to his

  280. own, and his own received him not.

  281. How heartbreaking that is. And here in this beautiful

  282. prophecy of Zechariah, when they'll see him and they'll talk

  283. to him and they'll say, where did these wounds come from in

  284. your hands? And Jesus will answer and say,

  285. these are which I was wounded in the House of my friends.

  286. He calls his enemies his friends.

  287. He will slay the armies of Antichrist when he comes back

  288. that are gathered in Palestine at Armageddon, and we'll get to

  289. that in Revelation 1911 through 22, chapter 20, verse 2.

  290. The wailing, the crying that will occur whenever Christ does

  291. come back is a wailing that was going on for the remnant of

  292. Israel and the Gentiles who turned to Christ during the

  293. Tribulation. There will be people who will

  294. get saved during the Tribulation.

  295. If you don't have Christ, I would not wait till that time to

  296. come to Christ because most people will not come to Christ.

  297. I'll take the mark of the beast and become his enemies forever.

  298. But there will be some during that time.

  299. Even though it'll cost them their lives and they'll be

  300. martyred and some will flee to the mountains and the hills to

  301. hide. They'll be believers during that

  302. time and the cry will be overwhelming because of the long

  303. term blindness of all these people that now they'll see

  304. their own sins in light of the cross and they'll see him whom

  305. they've crucified by their sinful lives.

  306. What a time of brokenness and Jesus concludes his section will

  307. end up here today. He says I am the Alpha in verse

  308. 8 in the Omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord who

  309. is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. 1A and

  310. Omega, the first and last letters in the Greek alphabet.

  311. Here Christ is declaring that He is the very start and the very

  312. conclusion of every matter, That everything that in this life and

  313. in this world that makes eternal sense starts with Christ and

  314. ends with Christ and everything in between with Christ.

  315. He is a Alpha and Omega, the 1st and the last, the beginning and

  316. the end and who is and who was and who is to come to self

  317. existent, all everlasting Savior Jesus Christ.

  318. No beginning, no end, one with the Father, one with the Spirit.

  319. Christ wasn't created. He always existed with the

  320. Father and with the Spirit. And he declares this about

  321. himself. And verse 8.

  322. And as you guys study ahead, I'd study the rest of this chapter.

  323. I'd like you to take particular note to verse 17 and think about

  324. this in your own day, when you will stand before the Lord and

  325. give an account of your life. What will your physical posture

  326. be when you enter into that throne room and give an account

  327. of your life for the things you've done in your body,

  328. whether they be good or evil? The judgment seat of Christ, not

  329. the great white throne judgment that is set aside for

  330. unbelievers and those who reject Christ at that judgment.

  331. The book of life is open, and whoever is not found written in

  332. the Lamb's book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.

  333. But the judgment seat of Christ is the judgment for believers,

  334. where our works will be tried and tested, whether they were

  335. done with pure motives for the glory of God or to what we do on

  336. this earth in the name of Jesus. Want to draw attention to

  337. ourselves, our own vain glory, our own pride, or all be tested

  338. and all the excuses we had while we were on earth will all burn

  339. up because they won't be excuses anymore.

  340. They'll just be seen as lies and cop outs.

  341. But this is the posture of the apostle John and he's definitely

  342. a devoted follower of Christ. The apostle John, if he's like

  343. this, I'm thinking what am I going to be like?

  344. He says. And when I saw him, I fell at

  345. his feet is dead. But he laid his right hand on

  346. me, saying to me, do not be afraid.

  347. I am the 1st and the last. I am he who lives and was dead.

  348. And behold, I am alive forevermore.

  349. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and

  350. death. So as we study this book, it's

  351. just wow, you know, I mean, what can you say with this?

  352. My prayer for us as a church is that this is a purifying

  353. teaching. And as we think about the return

  354. of Christ, whether it is in the rapture for us or the second

  355. coming of Christ for those who won't get saved until the

  356. tribulation, it says every man that hath this hope in himself,

  357. in regard to this blessed hope, purifieth himself even as he is

  358. pure. These are the days, guys, to

  359. repent. These are the days to set your

  360. house in order, your marriages in order, your responsibilities

  361. and raising your children, your priorities and how you do your

  362. job and how you testify of your faith in your neighborhood, your

  363. community. This is not a game.

  364. This is like real life here, right?

  365. What he's teaching us. And so I pray that even during

  366. the study, there might be some here that realize they've never

  367. come to Christ and they don't want to be left behind.

  368. They don't want to have to face the difficulty of the

  369. tribulation. You don't want to be here when

  370. the tribulation starts. Paul says today is the day of

  371. salvation. Don't sit here and think, well,

  372. let me think about this. Maybe next week or next month or

  373. down the road. Today is the day of salvation.

  374. If the Holy Spirit is imploring you in your heart to come to

  375. Christ today, I'd encourage you to pray and just say I need

  376. Jesus. Help me.

  377. Show me how I can be saved. If you're here as a Christian

  378. and you're backslidden and you've been taking it lightly

  379. and you've been pretending, but you're really not living the way

  380. God wants you to live, I'd ask you to come down after the

  381. service and just get on your face before God and clean things

  382. up with him today through the power of his blood.

  383. We want to go through this book not as students of information.

  384. We want to go through this book as disciples of transformation,

  385. that each of our lives will change to become more like Jesus

  386. as we study this book together. In the Book of Revelation,

  387. Pastor Clark is taking us through all kinds of events and

  388. happenings that are predicted for the future.

  389. But for those who believe and follow Jesus, there's much to

  390. look forward to in heaven with Jesus.

  391. However, for those who are here on earth during the Tribulation,

  392. there's all kinds of chaos that will unfold.

  393. The Bible talks about an Antichrist, a false prophet, and

  394. of course that evil enemy, Satan.

  395. Do you see how there are such clever attempts for the enemy to

  396. disguise himself as God and even the Trinity?

  397. The true Savior of the world is God and how he comes to rescue

  398. through his triune nature, God the Father, Jesus the Son, and

  399. God the Holy Spirit. But like Satan tried to take

  400. over for God in heaven and was cast out, Satan will try to

  401. convince people on earth that he is the triune God to be

  402. worshipped instead of the legitimate God in heaven.

  403. It's an attempt, and although he will capture plenty in his

  404. schemes, he will not win. The true God wins, and

  405. Revelation unpacks how that will all happen in detail.

  406. Be encouraged because there's a way out for all of this madness

  407. that will ensue on this earth. But you don't want to wait

  408. indefinitely to make that decision about Jesus.

  409. We don't know when the church will be raptured, and you want

  410. to be ready to be with Jesus. To learn more about this, head
