  1. This is Living Waters of Grace, the teaching ministry of Clark

  2. Wofford, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland,

  3. County of Greensburg, PA. Now here's Pastor Clark as he

  4. continues teaching through God's Word.

  5. This wrath is a passionate anger and it's one day going to be

  6. poured out in such a degree that the world has never known.

  7. As horrible as Hiroshima was, as horrible as tsunami and some

  8. other devastations, the Holocaust, things that we have

  9. read about in history, nothing is going to compare to what is

  10. going to come upon this world through these prophecies of the

  11. Book of Revelation. The world we live in has seen

  12. some truly horrific events in its history.

  13. The volcanic eruption of Pompeii that wiped out an entire

  14. civilization. The Holocaust where 6,000,000

  15. Jews were murdered. Many other tragedies where lives

  16. were lost. In today's message, Pastor Clark

  17. warned you about an even greater devastation that will come upon

  18. the earth during the Great Tribulation as a result of sin.

  19. Jesus died for your sin so that you don't have to have you

  20. turned to Him to receive forgiveness now.

  21. Here's Pastor Clark in Revelation chapter 15 with

    Revelation 15 chapter mention

  22. today's edition of Living Waters of Grace.

  23. Revelation 15 verse one. Then I saw another sign in

  24. heaven, great and marvelous, 7 angels having the seven last

  25. plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.

  26. And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire.

  27. And those who have the victory over the beast, over his image

  28. and over his mark, and over the number of his name, standing on

  29. the sea of glass, having harps of God, they sing the song of

  30. Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

  31. Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty, just

  32. and true are your ways, O King of the Saints, who shall not

  33. fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name.

  34. For you alone our holy, for all nations shall come and worship

  35. before you, for your judgments have been manifested.

  36. After these things I looked and behold, the temple, the

  37. Tabernacle, the testimony in heaven was open, and out of the

  38. temple came the seven angels, having the seven plagues clothed

  39. in pure bright linen and having their chests girded with golden

  40. bands. Then one of the four living

  41. creatures gave to the seven angels 7 golden bowls full of

  42. the wrath of God who lives forever and ever.

  43. The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from

  44. His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the

  45. seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

  46. As we study today, this is taking us back to a place to

  47. realize that there is a time that's going to come upon this

  48. world that is called Armageddon. Many of you have studied that,

  49. read about it. There was a movie I think a

  50. while back called Armageddon, and the world is moving towards

  51. that final battle on earth between good and evil prior to

  52. the second coming of Jesus Christ when he comes to roll and

  53. reign on this earth. So where we're picking up today

  54. is the scene as we move through the Book of Revelation.

  55. The seal judgments have already been dealt with.

  56. They were horrible enough in and of themselves.

  57. The trumpet judgments were also poured out upon the earth, very

  58. cataclysmic and unbelievable to have to deal with.

  59. The 7th trumpet is about to blow and the bulls of wrath now are

  60. going to be poured out upon the earth.

  61. So God will finally bring His righteous judgment upon the evil

  62. wicked people of the world who refused to acknowledge Christ as

  63. Lord and also to spare the people He loves and bring them

  64. into the eternal realm with Him. After this last, last

  65. consequential outpouring of of His anger and His wrath upon the

  66. earth, we see in verse 1, he talks about another sign in

  67. heaven, the signs of heaven marvelous.

  68. He says, now John has the privilege of being able to see

  69. what you and I can't see. He he sees something that's

  70. indescribable, but he's doing what he's able to do by the

  71. Spirit of God, writing these things down that we too might be

  72. able to have some degree of insight and vision into what he

  73. saw. And he says that what he's

  74. experiencing and seeing is marvelous. 7 angels having the

  75. seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.

  76. It's describing the end of the Tribulation with a horror, as I

  77. said, at the battle of Armageddon.

  78. Now John's going back to describe God's judgment in more

  79. detail. Whenever we study the Book of

  80. Revelation, we have to understand it's not a

  81. chronological study. It's it's shifting back and

  82. forth into different time periods to give us more

  83. illumination and more insight, more clarification in regard to

  84. these prophecies as we compare this various scripture in the

  85. Book of Revelation along with Daniel and Ezekiel.

  86. As we look at this particular section today, the plan of the

  87. prophet, he's reviewing, he's recapitulating and he's

  88. enlarging upon the scene. He is already sketched out.

  89. We already read about the end of time in Revelation chapter 6 if

    Revelation 6 chapter mention

  90. you flip over there for a minute.

  91. This is for a review 12 to 17. He says I looked when he opened

  92. the 6th sea. And behold, there was a great

  93. earthquake. And the sun became black as

  94. sackcloth of hair. And the moon became like blood.

  95. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth as fig tree drops its

  96. late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.

  97. And the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every

  98. mountain and island was moved out of its place.

  99. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the

  100. commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man,

  101. hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,

  102. and said to the mountains. And the rocks fall on us, and

  103. hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne, and from the

  104. wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of His wrath

  105. has come, and who is able to stand?

  106. John takes us over the same material again, but in greater

  107. detail in Revelation Chapter 15, reminding us that again, this is

    Revelation 15 chapter mention

  108. not set up chronologically. And this is what makes this book

  109. difficult to study and also to teach.

  110. Believe me, this is the hardest book I've ever taught on.

  111. You can't wing it. Not that I try to wing anything

  112. anyway, but you can be a little bit more extemporaneous when

  113. you're teaching to be attitudes. You got a lot of illustrations

  114. that you can make common to people about praying for enemies

  115. or loving people who hate you. We all got illustrations of how

  116. to work that out at times. But Revelation is a is a very

  117. specific book about specific subjects.

  118. So you don't dare try to make comments that aren't rooted in

  119. what has been clearly given. You don't want to make it up and

  120. you don't want to add to it. The Bible warns us at the end of

  121. that book that God help the person.

  122. It adds to the book, the words to the Book of Revelation.

  123. Now we see in verse one these 7 angels.

  124. They have the seven last plagues.

  125. And God has been waiting patiently throughout the history

  126. of civilization to bring righteous judgment upon the

  127. earth to an ungodly world. Now some people might think,

  128. well that's not fair. Why would a God of love be so

  129. angry? We can't understand.

  130. Maybe as we're growing and maturing in our Christian life,

  131. we can understand the horror, the devastation of sin and what

  132. it does to people, what it has done to your own life and mine

  133. as we've done things against God's law and His Word.

  134. The Bible says whatever you sow, you will reap.

  135. Anybody in here in the process of reaping anything, raise your

  136. hand. We've all sown things that we

  137. shouldn't have sown. And you think that you'll never

  138. see him again when you're young, you think, well, I did that no

  139. one else knows about it. And I'll never have to deal with

  140. that again and forget about it. And as life goes on and the Holy

  141. Spirit's working to purify your heart, God bring something out

  142. that maybe you did when you were 10 or 12 or 15 or 20 or 30.

  143. And all of a sudden, man, I thought that was gone, you know,

  144. and God doesn't bring it on you to condemn you.

  145. He brings it on you to free you and to cleanse you and to purify

  146. you and to and to transform your life.

  147. You know and but as God looks upon the horror of sin, there's

  148. a difference between what we see sin like as believers and what

  149. the lost or unconverted or doomed See.

  150. When you're a Christian, sin bothers you.

  151. It disturbs you. You want to repent of it.

  152. You want to get it off your chest.

  153. You want to confess it. You want to ask the Lord for

  154. mercy and cleansing and forgiveness.

  155. But when you're a Pagan, you just seem to relish in sin.

  156. The more sin the better. You don't think about the

  157. consequences or the the the outcome of what that might cost

  158. you one day. You're just thinking you're

  159. having a lot of fun, you know, on the highway to hell.

  160. And people don't understand that God is holy.

  161. God is perfect. This is his world, this is his

  162. universe, this is his creation. And he has every right to demand

  163. of his creation allegiance and worship and holiness.

  164. But we're not holy until Christ comes into our life.

  165. We're not holy until the blood of Jesus Christ is applied to

  166. our bankrupt souls. When Christ comes into a

  167. sinner's life, He washes away our sins.

  168. He cleanses us. He declares us righteous and

  169. pure and just, and it's a marvelous thing.

  170. We don't realize all the ramifications of justification.

  171. It's one thing to know, well, if I die today, I'm going to go to

  172. heaven. And and that's a good thing if

  173. you're trusting in Christ to know.

  174. But it's so much deeper than that, because what Christ has

  175. done for us at the cross in atonement, remitting our sins,

  176. is that we have this benefit now because of the blood of Christ

  177. and because of what Jesus Christ has done.

  178. That as a father looks upon us, he doesn't see an enemy of God

  179. anymore. He sees a son and daughter of

  180. God. He sees us as being part of his

  181. family. His wrath, his judgement has

  182. passed over us. But all those who are still on

  183. the earth who don't have Christ, his judgement is waiting to be

  184. poured out upon them. And he's been more than patient,

  185. hasn't he? How many thousands of years has

  186. he waited and patiently has to everyday look upon the sordid

  187. heart of the human race, the heart of man that perpetually

  188. desires to do evil continually? You might remember a day before

  189. you knew Christ where your thoughts every day was.

  190. What kind of evil stuff can I do today?

  191. What kind of sin can I get into? Who can I RIP off, or who can I

  192. take advantage of, or who can I put the move on, or whatever it

  193. was that might have been our agenda.

  194. And God has to look on that every day and see the heart of

  195. men and women and children who are rebelling and hating and

  196. refusing to follow Him. And then he looks down upon His

  197. church, His bride all around the world.

  198. And that's what gives him pleasure.

  199. That's what gives him glory and praise and honor, because he can

  200. look at all the brothers and sisters all around the world who

  201. have been washed in the blood of the Lamb.

  202. And that's what keeps Him from destroying this earth, the

  203. remnant that is upon the face of this earth, that He's blessing

  204. to continually do His will until He comes again.

  205. All of us here today, I trust our Christians.

  206. We know Christ, and if we know Him today, we can relax in the

  207. sense of having peace and knowing it is well with our soul

  208. and that if tomorrow is the end of the world, it's not going to

  209. be a big problem for us, is it? The best is yet to come for the

  210. Christian. But if you're here today and

  211. you're without Christ, Jesus says in John 336, He that hath

  212. the Son hath life. That means you have life, his

  213. life. He that hath not the Son of God

  214. hath not life, but what the wrath of God abideth on them.

  215. And it's a horrible thing once you get a heads up that God is

  216. angry with you because of your sin, that every day you should

  217. be a nervous wreck because you don't want to leave this world

  218. with God's wrath upon you. You don't want to leave this

  219. life without a Savior. And this is the whole purpose of

  220. the Book of Revelation. It's a prophetical book for the

  221. world to understand that this is the consequences of a sinful,

  222. ungodly world that will have to come to grips with the reality

  223. of a holy God having his just righteousness and his due time.

  224. And so the wrath of God is being stored up.

  225. And some people see it and it's described in the Scriptures as a

  226. cup of trembling. Jesus took that cup as I spoke

  227. briefly last week on the night of his betrayal prior to his

  228. crucifixion. He said it, if it is possible,

  229. let this cup pass from me. He asked for this to pass from

  230. him three times. The cup of God's anger, the cup

  231. of God's wrath that was poured out on our Savior Jesus Christ,

  232. who took our sins upon himself and took our punishment and

  233. everything we deserved upon himself that we might go free.

  234. And the Son of God, God Incarnate, had to take upon

  235. himself and experience that horrible, horrible wrath of God.

  236. But Hallelujah, when he was on that cross, He was able to say

  237. it is finished. He completed it for the glory of

  238. the Father and for the sake of those he died for and cleanse

  239. from their sin. But this wrath is a passionate

  240. anger and it's one day going to be poured out in such a degree

  241. that the world has never known as horrible as Hiroshima was, as

  242. horrible as tsunami and some other devastations, the

  243. Holocaust, things that we have read about in history.

  244. Nothing is going to compare to what is going to come upon this

  245. world through these prophecies of the Book of Revelation.

  246. And this anger of God will come to a point of completion.

  247. It will it says in verse one. For in them the wrath of God is

  248. complete. In other words, finally it is at

  249. the top and, and, and, and the timing is perfect and everything

  250. that God has waited for all these years will finally be

  251. poured out. And he's not pouring it out

  252. because he's an evil God. He's a loving God.

  253. But enough is enough. He's waited over 6000 years so

  254. patiently. And he waits because he says

  255. he's not willing that any should perish, but that all should come

  256. to repentance. God's righteous anger and His

  257. wrath will fulfill his eternal purpose.

  258. And verse 2, he talks about this vision of this sea of glass, a

  259. multitude of standing on the sea like a crystal.

  260. In Revelation 4, it describes a sea representing the holiness of

  261. God, the purity of God. And in the midst of the sea,

  262. there's this element of brightness and and some

  263. commentators see this as the fire being mingled within the

  264. purity of the glass, representing the fires of God's

  265. judgment that are waiting for those who don't repent and come

  266. to Christ. Now, it's beyond me outside of

  267. understanding that there was a time that I was like, forget

  268. this, I'm not interested in this stuff.

  269. Anybody would tell me about it. I want to go the other way.

  270. If I saw a religious tract somewhere, I just like, you

  271. know, didn't want to deal with it.

  272. You know, I was doing everything I could to resist this love of

  273. God because I was comfortable in my sin.

  274. I love my sin. The Bible say men love sin.

  275. Men love darkness rather than light.

  276. Why? Because their deeds are evil.

  277. I remember a day. Is anybody remember a day when

  278. you love sin? Raise your hand.

  279. There's about all of us in here and maybe some of you are still

  280. loving your sin. I pray by the day time you get

  281. out of here today, you're going to want to flee from your sin

  282. and run from your sin. As we read in verse 2, he talks

  283. about this sea glass being mingled with fire.

  284. Those who have victory over the beast, His image, His mark, the

  285. number of His name. These are the ones that endured

  286. the consequences of the persecution of the Antichrist.

  287. They were martyred, they suffered the consequences

  288. because they refused to take the mark of the beast and give

  289. homage to Antichrist. But now they're in this

  290. wonderful state in the Kingdom, experiencing the beauty of, of,

  291. of the, of the Kingdom of God. And they are standing on the sea

  292. of glass and they have harps. They are able to, to play music

  293. unto the Lord. What a wonderful worship time

  294. that these people are encountering and experiencing

  295. now as we look at the images that we're studying in this Book

  296. of Revelation, Many of these things remind us of things we've

  297. read about or studied about in the book of the Exodus.

  298. And the Revelation speaks of Moses in verse 3.

  299. Here they sing the song of Moses.

  300. And Moses was a prototype of Christ in a way, and the sense

  301. of being the deliverer, the one who took the people out of the

  302. bondage of Egypt under an ungodly ruler, Pharaoh, who

  303. abused and took advantage of the children of Israel.

  304. They prayed for a deliverer. God sent Moses as a deliverer,

  305. and Moses delivered the children of Israel out of the bondage of

  306. Pharaoh through great signs and wonders that the Lord allowed

  307. him to bring forth for his glory and for his honor.

  308. He delivered the children of Israel through the Red Sea.

  309. He brought plagues upon Egypt to get Pharaoh to realize he needed

  310. to let the people go. He warned them through the

  311. plagues and the seal judgments and the trumpet judgments and

  312. even the bowl of wrath that's going to be poured out.

  313. The intention of God the whole time he's doing this.

  314. Yeah, justice and righteousness. But will someone wake up when

  315. judgment comes? Will someone finally say I need

  316. to repent, I need to turn for my sin, I need a savior?

  317. And many people do come to know Christ during this time of

  318. consequence of tribulation. But the plagues are beyond

  319. anything that anyone could imagine.

  320. And we know as we study the book of the Exodus, how horrible they

  321. were. And we'll get into more detail

  322. on these plagues next week. But the plagues also, we we read

  323. in here that he talks about a Tabernacle in heaven, a temple

  324. in heaven. The cloud of God's glory as

  325. Moses experienced that and the Old Testament as they took the

  326. tent of meeting and God met with the children of Israel through

  327. the cloud that enshrouded the tent and it represented the

  328. divine presence and manifestation of God's living

  329. reality among the people. The ultimate exodus.

  330. So in Revelation is that God is delivering his people out of

  331. this fallen world and we won't have to deal with it anymore.

  332. Deliverance from a sinful and persecuting world.

  333. I think about what Janine Janine shared today that should strike

  334. some degree of terror in our hearts, that we can't be too far

  335. from the time of the Lord's return, that this kind of agenda

  336. is being perpetrated upon the the world, our our country,

  337. nations. The UN, quite frankly, seems to

  338. be a entity that is being set up to establish A1 world

  339. government, A1 world roller, one world currency.

  340. It has tremendous impact, tremendous power.

  341. It's pretty much anti God as a as a an organization that is

  342. directing the affairs of the nations.

  343. Some of the most scandalous people are involved in the

  344. leadership of the organization, some people who have brought

  345. atrocities against other nations and people groups that are

  346. allowed to continually develop their own agendas.

  347. And and we're like the frogs in the frying pan.

  348. We don't know about this stuff again, unless people like Janine

  349. or others bring stuff into pastors.

  350. You guys are responsible, as I am, for the truth of God.

  351. In these last days, you read something, you hear about

  352. something, you're upset about something, something isn't

  353. right. You know, I don't care a

  354. politician or a presidential candidate or anybody that is

  355. perpetrating and bringing upon this country and upon the rights

  356. of the citizens things that are unconstitutional or things that

  357. are against the word of God. We have every right given by God

  358. in this nation under God to stand up and say enough's

  359. enough. But if we just keep ignoring

  360. this stuff and not voting and thinking it's too late, what can

  361. anybody do? God help us in our country.

  362. God help the churches in this country.

  363. We're not to be that way. We're to be outspoken.

  364. We're to be lovingly and humbly aggressive about righteousness

  365. in this land. Verse 2, it talks about those

  366. who had the victory over the beast.

  367. And this is again the the tribulation martyrs and they

  368. were also described in Revelation Chapter 7, nine

    Revelation 7 chapter mention

  369. through 17. You can check that out later.

  370. These we're reading about now though, the completion of those

  371. who survive the tribulation because that that tribulation

  372. isn't over yet until after the bowls of wrath are poured out

  373. and the battle of Armageddon is over and then the second coming

  374. of Christ occurs. But this period is we're reading

  375. about right now is within the time parameters of the

  376. tribulation. And as I said, that the bowl

  377. judgements are still waiting to be poured out.

  378. This has been Living Waters of Grace with Pastor Clark.

  379. We're going through the challenging and also intriguing

  380. Book of Revelation. Whether you're a fan of reading

  381. ahead in books of fiction, there's such a benefit to

  382. reading ahead in the Bible to read about how it all ends.

  383. But in an interesting turn of events, the Book of Revelation

  384. is not really the end, but rather the beginning.

  385. It's the end of life as we know it here on earth, but there's so

  386. much to look forward to. But what comes after all?

  387. The judgement of the earth and those who reject God.

  388. There's a lot to work through, and it can be heartbreaking to

  389. read through the intense judgements and wrath that will

  390. come on those who hate God with all their might.

  391. The thing is, God has given chance upon chance to these

  392. people. They don't want it.

  393. So the outcome is that there are judgments and consequences for

  394. those who've rejected the good news and the gift of salvation

  395. that's offered through Jesus's death and resurrection.

  396. Are you one who has heard about these things but doesn't really

  397. want it because you want to live life on your terms?

  398. Trust me, living for Jesus is so much better.

  399. That doesn't mean it will be easy, but as you listen and read

  400. through Revelation with us, you'll come to a stark

  401. realization that you don't want to be on earth when the

  402. apocalypse happens. So check out Calvary Chapel

  403. online.com to learn how to come to a saving grace through faith

  404. that will allow you to be with Jesus for eternity.
