  1. This is Living Waters of Grace, the teaching ministry of Clark

  2. Wofford, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland,

  3. County of Greensburg, PA. Now here's Pastor Clark as he

  4. continues teaching through God's Word.

  5. The world system satisfies the desires of the fallen nature.

  6. So even though we're Christians, we still deal with sin, right?

  7. And we'd be lying if we say that something doesn't affect us at

  8. times or attract us. It does.

  9. We got to fight against it. The Bible tells us as men to

  10. flee youthful us at war against the soul.

  11. You have to put yourself in a place that you're not going to

  12. be attacked by the world system, but the world system is designed

  13. to satisfy the fallen part of your nature, your flesh and your

  14. mind. Hey, we're all human, right?

  15. We all have cravings and desires.

  16. If you're trying to lose weight, you're not going to go hang out

  17. in the donut shop or at the ice cream parlor.

  18. If you're trying to do a digital detox, you've got to get out

  19. into nature, away from technology.

  20. In today's message, Pastor Clark expresses to you the importance

  21. of being on guard against the sinful system of the world.

  22. Don't let the world entice you to compromise your walk with

  23. Christ, but steer clear of all of its fleshly lusts.

  24. Now here's Pastor Clark in Revelation Chapter 18 with

    Revelation 18 chapter mention

  25. today's edition of Living Waters of Grace.

  26. In spite of the darkness and this last day of the

  27. tribulation, God's glory is going to shine, because the

  28. Angel illuminates the earth with his glory, so the darkness can't

  29. ever outshine the light. And it talks about this

  30. judgment. It says the nations have drunk

  31. of the wine for the wrath of her fornication.

  32. The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,

  33. and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the

  34. abundance of her luxury. This Joel judgment is spoken

  35. about where Babylon is fallen shows that in chapter 17, the

  36. ecclesiastical system is fallen with a great harlot we studied

  37. about several weeks ago. And now in chapter 18 we see the

  38. political financial system becoming affected by what's

  39. going on. And Babylon's going to receive

  40. double for her many sins. The dwelling place of Satan.

  41. There's so many places on the face of the earth today that is

  42. the dwelling place of Satan, of demons.

  43. I think bars are and nightclubs are the dwelling place of

  44. demons. Unfortunately, I attended some

  45. of those places after I became a Christian for a while.

  46. I knew down deep inside that I shouldn't be in those places

  47. because I didn't. I wasn't like that anymore.

  48. But you know, through business situations or whatever, I was

  49. compelled to go to some of these places at different times.

  50. And I'll tell you like it's sense of darkness and what

  51. happens as a Christian, if you hang out with people who are in

  52. the dwelling place of demons, it will have a tendency to pull you

  53. back from the direction that God wants you to go in.

  54. It will cause you to go backwards in your spiritual life

  55. that we use that word backsliding.

  56. And so there's many, many places that are the dwelling place of

  57. demons. Now here is a mine which has

  58. wisdom. The seven heads are the seven

  59. mountains in which the women says this judgement has become

  60. the pollution of the whole world.

  61. I know you folks that have kids. You love your kids.

  62. Some of you have chosen to homeschool them.

  63. Some of them you haven't you? You got them in public schools.

  64. I'll tell you guys, it's your responsibility to train your

  65. kids in the way of the Lord. In these days, you can't depend

  66. on anybody else to train your kids up in the way of the Lord.

  67. It gives us warning in the Old Testament that the children of

  68. Israel were told to teach their kids from the morning when they

  69. got up to when they went to bed at night.

  70. They would read the word, they would disciple them, they would

  71. teach them the ways of God. Unfortunately nowadays, and I'm

  72. not saying any, you guys do this, but too many people depend

  73. on the Christian School to educate their kids spiritually,

  74. or they depend on the church that teach their kids

  75. spiritually. And the church has a

  76. responsibility to teach everybody from the baby up to

  77. the oldest person. But one day a week for 45

  78. minutes isn't going to cut it, right?

  79. It isn't. It's your responsibility to

  80. teach your kids, but what's happening is all this pollution

  81. is affecting your children. And if you're not on top of it,

  82. when your kids come home from school and you're asking them,

  83. well, what is it you learned today about science?

  84. Or what is it that they taught you about how the world

  85. developed? And you're not circumventing the

  86. darkness that's coming in to infiltrate their lives and to

  87. cause them to become jaded in regard to the things of God.

  88. You're going to have a real problem when they get older and

  89. they become adults. The world system that we're in

  90. today is opposing Christ and every angle.

  91. It exists today to make you and me a slave to its system.

  92. And the only thing that can free us from the system is the

  93. person. And the power of the Holy Spirit

  94. is Christ. And the Father sent him forth to

  95. do the work of convicting the world of sin and of

  96. righteousness and of judgment. The apostle Paul tells us we're

  97. not to be conformed to this world.

  98. It's not a suggestion, it's a commandment not to be conformed

  99. to this world. One of the easiest way to be

  100. conformed to this world is allow that to, to be on 24/7.

  101. I, I personally don't see a whole lot that's worthwhile

  102. watching on there. It's like a waste.

  103. You might think I'm a fanatic, but you know, I still have ATV

  104. because my wife still likes watching it, but I, I don't have

  105. any interest in that television. It's a waste of time.

  106. Tell me one thing that's good on there.

  107. Football. That's about it, you know, But

  108. the problem is you got to deal with the commercials in between,

  109. right? And that's when you go

  110. backwards, scantily clad women with the beer commercials and

  111. the fancy car commercials. And you know, it's just like,

  112. brother, I'll tell you. But you know, the TV is what

  113. conforms you subliminally to think the way the world does.

  114. It takes your kids and causes them to have a worldview that

  115. isn't Christian. It's a worldview that's fallen.

  116. And so Paul tells us not to be conformed to this world.

  117. The world system satisfies the desires of the fallen nature.

  118. So even though we're Christians, we still deal with sin, right?

  119. And we'd be lying if we say that something doesn't affect us at

  120. times or attract us. It does.

  121. We got to fight against it. The Bible tells us as men to

  122. flee youthfulness at war against the soul.

  123. You have to put yourself in a place that you're not going to

  124. be attacked by the world system, but the world system is designed

  125. to satisfy the fallen part of your nature, your flesh, and

  126. your mind. That's why it's going to be very

  127. easy for the Antichrist to deceive the masses in the last

  128. days, because he's going to promise them all these

  129. possessions. He's going to promise some

  130. wealth and prosperity, and everybody's going to have the

  131. sense of entitlement. And that's why I keep bringing

  132. up through this book, the prosperity gospel that's being

  133. preached out there today is a perfect segue into what the

  134. Antichrist is going to promise the masses, using the false

  135. religious system to get people to be interested in greed and

  136. themselves rather than being interested in giving and being

  137. sensitive to others. And verses 4 through 8, he hears

  138. this voice from heaven saying, come out of her, my people, lest

  139. you share in her sins, unless you receive of her plagues.

  140. The Lord saying the sins have reached up to heaven and God has

  141. remembered our iniquities. In other words, sin has gotten

  142. so high and so much in God's face that there'll be a time

  143. when God says that's it, it's over, enough's enough.

  144. I'm going to eradicate this blight from civilization and

  145. humanity, and it's not going to have control upon people anymore

  146. because it's going to be put to death once and for all.

  147. Call sin and death one day and the Book of Revelation will be

  148. thrown into the lake of fire. And so we see that God's

  149. faithfulness and His warning is to the people who are left on

  150. the earth at the time of this tribulation.

  151. There'll be many people that will come to know Christ during

  152. the tribulation, and they can't take the mark of the beast, so

  153. they can't buy and do commerce and sell and do business because

  154. they don't have the code and the number to get them into the

  155. system. So they're going to be like

  156. nomads running the earth, hiding out, trying to protect

  157. themselves from the internment camps and that kind of stuff.

  158. But God is warning the people on the face of the earth at that

  159. time that do know him, that are part of his remnant that come

  160. out from among these people that are on the face of the earth

  161. that are worshipping the fallen world system.

  162. And he says come out and be separate.

  163. In other words, they have to avoid defilement or they'll

  164. become partakers of the sins of the people.

  165. And today, some of us might have become defiled by situations and

  166. places we've been recently or things we've watched or heard or

  167. seen or purchased that have had an ungodly influence in our

  168. life, and we need to avoid this defilement.

  169. First Timothy chapter 5 says neither.

    1 Timothy 5 chapter mention

  170. Be partakers of other people's sins.

  171. Don't share in other people's sins.

  172. Keep yourself pure. Ephesians chapter 5 starting

    Ephesians 5 chapter mention

  173. with verse 8, it says for you were once darkness, but now

  174. you're light in the Lord walk as children of light.

  175. In other words, there was one time all you did was dark

  176. things. That's all you thought about.

  177. I remember there was a time in my life every day I get up and

  178. think, OK, what bad things am I going to do today?

  179. I had a whole list of them and it wasn't a good day for me

  180. unless I accomplished my list of of sin.

  181. It says you once were like that, but now you're light and the

  182. Lord walk as children of light. In other words, don't walk the

  183. way you used to walk, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all

  184. goodness, righteousness, and truth.

  185. Finding out what is acceptable to the Lord, what's acceptable

  186. to you, Lord, that's my prayer. Now, what is pleasing to you?

  187. Not what's pleasing to my fallen nature, the way I used to be.

  188. I want to live in a way that's pleasing to the Lord.

  189. It says have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness,

  190. but rather expose them. And we can't be around darkness

  191. any of us. We shouldn't be messing with

  192. that stuff. We shouldn't be in places where

  193. darkness is being glorified and where people are ignoring the

  194. truths of the Kingdom of God. It says don't hang out with

  195. them, don't have fellowship with them, rather expose them.

  196. If you're going to do anything, preach the gospel, share with

  197. people their need of Jesus Christ, he says.

  198. It's shameful even to speak of those things which are done to

  199. them in secret. But all things that are exposed

  200. are made manifest by the light for whatever makes manifest as

  201. light. So we're in a place of

  202. ungodliness. We're in a place of the

  203. unfruitful works of darkness. The Holy Spirit lives in you.

  204. If you're a believer, there's light in you that's exposing the

  205. darkness. Now, you can try to hide the

  206. light. You can try to ignore it like

  207. it's not in you and participate in the darkness for a while.

  208. But the darkness can't outshine the light.

  209. And God will eventually have to chasten you and discipline you

  210. and put you in a place in your life that you're going to repent

  211. and get back on track again. He says in verse 14, Awake you

  212. who sleep arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.

  213. See, then you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but

  214. as wise. A fool walks in darkness after

  215. they become a Christian, redeeming the time because the

  216. days are evil. Things are getting worse and

  217. darker and worse and darker. Therefore, do not be unwise, but

  218. understand what the will of the Lord is.

  219. Do not be drunk with wine and which is dissipation, but be

  220. filled with the Spirit. Drunkenness is not to be

  221. tolerated in the believers life. None of us have a right to get

  222. hammered anymore. We shouldn't be doing that.

  223. Now I'm not saying you can't have a drink because the Bible

  224. doesn't teach that total abstinence, but the Bible is

  225. real clear that you're not to be drunk anymore.

  226. Amen. And so everybody has to know

  227. when they're moving into a place of inebriation and stop.

  228. So my job to judge you if you have a glass of wine or you to

  229. judge me. But if you see me drinking more

  230. than one glass of wine, you have a right to say, Clark, you're

  231. heading in a dangerous direction.

  232. What the apostles saying here in Revelation isn't just so much

  233. for the people that are going to be left here, but where are you

  234. today? Are you living as an unwise

  235. person? Are you in places of darkness?

  236. Are you allowing yourself to participate in things that

  237. Christ had to shed his blood and die for and so he's warning them

  238. in revelation to be protected as a repent so that they won't have

  239. the plagues in verse 8 come upon them in that day that the

  240. remnant is spared from the plagues.

  241. So what sins will be judged? Well, we've already looked at

  242. many of them here we see idolatry.

  243. We see in verse 7 it says in the measure that she glorified

  244. herself. Pride lifting themselves up in

  245. this time, living in a way that is ostentatious is one thing to

  246. have wealth is another thing to use your wealth in a wise way.

  247. I've known people who are very, very wealthy that live like they

  248. have no money, and they use their money in ways that are as

  249. wonderful in the sense of helping other people.

  250. You know Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, that company is the

  251. biggest retail corporation in the world today.

  252. When Sam Walton developed his business and became extremely

  253. wealthy, he lived in the same modest ranch home.

  254. He never sold it. He drove his used pickup truck.

  255. He could have bought anything he wanted, but that wasn't how he

  256. was wired. He was a fascinating individual

  257. and even all the money he had set up for the generations of

  258. the family, the kids, the grandkids, the great grandkids

  259. that have all come on down the road.

  260. He set the trust up so that there was only so much money

  261. given to them at certain periods of times in their lives so they

  262. wouldn't go out and squander their wealth.

  263. Because he knew that the danger of money could cause a lot of

  264. problems, as the Scriptures say, in people's lives.

  265. So we see here the pride. We also see the the heart of the

  266. Church of Jesus Christ and the last days in Matthew 25 prior to

  267. the final judgment. Now a lot of people say, well,

  268. you know, I'm I'm saved, I'm going to heaven.

  269. Well, how do you know why? I pray to prayer and I'm going

  270. to, you know, I believe in Jesus, I'm going to heaven.

  271. That's all there is. You know, well, thank God for

  272. the simplicity of the gospel. But the gospel is much fuller in

  273. the sense of what real belief entails.

  274. In real belief entails change of conduct.

  275. Then I'm not walking in darkness anymore, because if I'm still

  276. wanting to walk in darkness, I haven't been converted yet.

  277. If my heart still desires the fruitful works of darkness and I

  278. want to do those sinful things, Christ hasn't conquered my

  279. heart. I'm still rebelling.

  280. I'm still lost. I'm still in my sin if that's my

  281. main propensity and focus of my everyday life.

  282. But this is the final judgement here and this is shocking to a

  283. lot of people, says this is the Son of Man who'll come and he's

  284. going to judge the nation's. When the Son of Man comes in

  285. verse 31 of chapter 25 in his glory and all the holy angels

  286. with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.

  287. Picture this. All of us will see this

  288. encounter. All the nations will be gathered

  289. before him, and he will separate them from one another as a

  290. shepherd divides the sheep from the goats.

  291. And he will set the sheep on his right hand.

  292. If you're a believer here today, you're sheep, the goats on the

  293. left. If you're an unbeliever or a

  294. poser or a phony, you're on the left.

  295. And the king will say to those on his right hand, Come, you

  296. blessed it of my father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you

  297. from the foundation of the world.

  298. Listen to this. I was hungry and you gave me

  299. food. I was thirsty and you gave me

  300. drink. I was a stranger and you took me

  301. in. I was naked and you clothed me.

  302. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to

  303. me. And the righteous will answer

  304. and say, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or

  305. thirsty and give you a drink? When did we see you as a

  306. stranger, and take you in or naked and clothe you?

  307. Or when did we see you sick or in prison, and come to you?

  308. And the King will answer and say to them, assuredly, I say to

  309. you, in as much as you did it unto one of these, the least of

  310. these, my brethren, you did it to me.

  311. So in a church what we do is for one another, right?

  312. It's Christchurch, and everything we're trying to do as

  313. a body of believers is for the sake of people that don't know

  314. him yet, for the sake of people who do know him, to help our

  315. missionaries get the gospel out to the ends of the earth.

  316. When there's a need presented, we're involved in meeting that

  317. need because everything that we do in the microscope of God's

  318. judgment, when God sees are we living for the sake of others?

  319. Many say to those on the left, depart from you cursed into

  320. everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

  321. For I was hungry and you gave me no food.

  322. I was thirsty and you gave me no drink.

  323. I was a stranger. You did not take me in.

  324. I was naked. You did not clothe me.

  325. I was sick and in prison. You did not visit me.

  326. And they will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see you

  327. hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or

  328. in prison, or did not minister to you?

  329. And he will answer them, saying, assuredly, I say to you, And as

  330. much as you did not do it to the one, the least of these, you did

  331. not do it to me. And these will go away at the

  332. everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

  333. So the world system is either compelling you to move away from

  334. it. So you take what it is that

  335. God's allowed you to have and prosper you with.

  336. And you pray and you say, Lord, what's the decisions you have

  337. for me? What missionaries am I going to

  338. help? What person is going to show me

  339. they have a need? And I'm either going to ignore

  340. them and blow them off whenever I have enough to take care of

  341. that need and I'm going to walk away.

  342. Or I'm going to use what it is and God's going to put it in my

  343. heart to say, God, Clark, help that person or do this or do

  344. that, that be sensitive to that situation that's being

  345. disconnected from the world system.

  346. The world system, though, is telling you no, you can't do

  347. that. You're a fool.

  348. You don't know that person. You don't know what they're

  349. going to do with this or that. All this skepticism and all this

  350. fear and trying to hoard everything you have for yourself

  351. and where's it going to end? It says these will go away into

  352. everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

  353. So what's the priorities of our stewardship in this world system

  354. today? The plagues are going to come.

  355. The entire economic empire, the Antichrist is going to collapse.

  356. The remnant are going to rejoice to God's righteous judgment.

  357. But what about you and me today? Where are we with this system

  358. that we're still influenced by? Jesus talks about the importance

  359. of laying up for yourselves treasures in heaven in Matthew

  360. 6. Do not lay up for yourselves

  361. treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy and where

  362. thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves

  363. treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys,

  364. and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  365. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  366. So I have to say to myself today, as we begin to conclude

  367. in regards to the world system, I can teach this stuff, I can

  368. talk about it, I can exhort you, but I need to exhort myself.

  369. Where's my stewardship? Where's my heart affections?

  370. Where's my priorities? Does God own what I have?

  371. Do I surrender my life to God, every part of it, everything I

  372. have, everything that is mine, or does it have a hold on me?

  373. Does my stuff have a hold on me? Am I giving more allegiance to

  374. the present world system? Is my treasure you Jesus, or is

  375. it the treasures of this present earth?

  376. What is it that you and I are putting our focus upon as we

  377. live our lives today? The last thing I want you to

  378. look at is Second Corinthians chapter 6, because these things

    2 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  379. are going to happen. When they do happen, if we're

  380. with him already, we're still going to have to give an account

  381. for what we did with our lives. And the Lord will say, well, you

  382. know, you believed in me, you trusted in me.

  383. You're in the Kingdom and the Bible says that some of us will

  384. be saved as oh by fire. I don't want to find out what

  385. that means. I hope you don't either.

  386. Doesn't sound good. It's good to be saved, but it's

  387. the be saved by as oh by fire. Sounds like this is skin of our

  388. teeth and we were on the edge of being cast into the fire.

  389. The Second Corinthians chapter 6 tells us here again, the warning

    2 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  390. that I read about at the Lord's Supper.

  391. Allow the Lord to deal with your hearts, all of us, and allow the

  392. Lord to separate from your heart what might be there that is

  393. causing you to be tied into the world too much.

  394. But the Lord deal with that stuff and he'll, he'll help you

  395. to be free from it. He'll lift it off of you.

  396. He'll put things in priority and he'll put things in place in

  397. your life. You know, the cost of

  398. selfishness and the cost of greed affects your marriage, it

  399. affects your kids, it affects your relationship with the

  400. people you work with, the people you're concerned about, your

  401. burden for. There's no power outside of

  402. yieldedness to God. And God wants us to yield to

  403. him, all of us. How much does he want of my

  404. life? He wants it all.

  405. And that's something that I have to look at in my own life every

  406. day. Every day I have to fight

  407. against the pressures of the world.

  408. Every day I have to make a decision what I'm going to do

  409. with my checkbook. Every day I have to make a

  410. decision what I'm going to do with what God trusts me with.

  411. And it's, it's, it's not easy guys, as you all know, if you're

  412. honest, but you know, prayer is a wonderful place to come

  413. because we can say, Lord, help me to understand the dynamics of

  414. this place. I live in this earth that the

  415. ancient Israelites said wasn't their home.

  416. They were looking for a city whose builder and maker was God.

  417. It says they dwelt in tents as temporal dwellers, as

  418. sojourners, as nomads, not putting roots down in this world

  419. because they were looking for a city whose builder and maker was

  420. God. And the church today is so

  421. anemic and so weak because believers have chosen to give

  422. allegiance to the world system instead of the Kingdom of God.

  423. And the Bible says in the last days that we're to come out from

  424. among that kind of living and that kind of concept and be

  425. separate. It says judgment has to 1st

  426. begin with us and us meaning the House of God, but that we would

  427. listen to what Paul says when he says what agreement has the

  428. temple of God. That's you with idols if there's

  429. idols in your life and lay them at the feet of Jesus so he can

  430. smash them and pull you out of the bondage that they've allowed

  431. to control your life. For you are the temple, the

  432. living God. As God has said, I will dwell in

  433. them and walk among them. I will be their God and they

  434. shall be my people. Oh, may we be able to say that

  435. today that He is our God and we are His people.

  436. Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.

  437. Do not touch what is unclean and I will receive you.

  438. If you're touching unclean stuff.

  439. Stop it today, deal with it today, and walk out with a firm

  440. conviction by the power of the Holy Spirit that from this day

  441. forward you're not messing with certain things that you were

  442. messing with. I will be a father to you and

  443. you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord

  444. Almighty. Therefore, having these

  445. promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all

  446. filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in

  447. the fear of God. His has been Living Waters of

  448. Grace With Pastor Clark, we're going through the challenging

  449. and also intriguing Book of Revelation.

  450. Whether you're a fan of reading ahead in books of fiction,

  451. there's such a benefit to reading ahead in the Bible to

  452. read about how it all ends. But in an interesting turn of

  453. events, the Book of Revelation is not really the end, but

  454. rather the beginning. It's the end of life as we know

  455. it here on earth. But there's so much to look

  456. forward to for what comes after all the judgement of the earth

  457. and those who reject God. There's a lot to work through,

  458. and it can be heartbreaking to read through the intense

  459. judgements and wrath that will come on those who hate God with

  460. all their might. The thing is, God has given

  461. chance upon chance to these people.

  462. They don't want it. So the outcome is that there are

  463. judgements and consequences for those who've rejected the good

  464. news and the gift of salvation that's offered through Jesus's

  465. death and resurrection. Are you one who has heard about

  466. these things but doesn't really want it because you want to live

  467. life on your terms? Trust me, living for Jesus is so

  468. much better. That doesn't mean it will be

  469. easy. As you listen and read through

  470. Revelation with us, you'll come to a stark realization that you

  471. don't want to be on earth when the apocalypse happens.
