  1. This is Living Waters of Grace, the teaching ministry of Clark

  2. Waffer, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland, County

  3. of Greensburg, PA. Now here's Pastor Clark as he

  4. continues teaching through God's Word.

  5. We need to rejoice when the current events discourage us.

  6. We need to be rejoicing people when things don't seem to be

  7. going the way we would hope. When you have loved ones and

  8. family that turn from the Lord, when you have people that just

  9. blow you off, when you have people you work with that think

  10. you're nuts, when you have immediate family members perhaps

  11. that just don't seem to care about their souls, it's

  12. heartbreaking. It's discouraging, but we're

  13. victorious people. We have won.

  14. Christ is conquered. When you give your life to

  15. Jesus, you want to share the love and freedom you feel with

  16. those whom you care about most. It can be extremely difficult to

  17. find the strength in sharing the good news with those who refuse

  18. to believe it. The best thing that we can do is

  19. to focus on loving through patience, prayer, and respect,

  20. trusting that God will move. Today, Pastor Clark teaches us

  21. to rejoice even when things don't seem to be going the way

  22. we want. Jesus is coming back soon, and

  23. he's already won. Now here's Pastor Clark in

  24. Revelation Chapter 19 with today's edition of Living Waters

    Revelation 19 chapter mention

  25. of Grace. In the second coming, the Bible

  26. says every eye shall see him in the rapture of the tribulation

  27. begins right after we are taken out, and the millennial Kingdom

  28. begins at the second coming. There's enough information in

  29. the scriptures to make it clear that the raptures are quite

  30. different event than the second coming of Jesus Christ.

  31. And the reason I bring this up, there's a lot of confusion

  32. regarding these things in the body of Christ today.

  33. You have people who are pre Trib, mid trip, post Trib, all

  34. millennial, post millennial, all these different end time views,

  35. eschatological end time views. We Calvary Chapel are historic

  36. pre mill, pre Trib in the sense of our eschatology.

  37. And we're not alone. Good Bible teachers that you

  38. listen to in the radio like John MacArthur or Charles Swindoll,

  39. Charles Stanley, a lot of you guys listen.

  40. I know to some of these people there, they take the same

  41. position we do. So we're in good company with

  42. credible Bible scholars. However, I said this isn't

  43. anything to divide on with people who have different

  44. positions. The good news is whenever the

  45. Lord comes back to all realize we're right and they were wrong

  46. but if they're in Christ, we're all going to love each other

  47. anyway and it's not going to matter.

  48. But it is important in regard to how we're preparing for the

  49. Lord's return and how we live in light of that return.

  50. So let's look at the section that we're going to spend some

  51. time on Revelation chapter 19. As we see in verse 11, the

    Revelation 19 chapter mention

  52. heaven is open and behold a White Horse, a physical animal,

  53. a horse. We're all going to be riding

  54. horses when we come back with the Lord at the second coming.

  55. Now I don't like riding horses. I'm afraid of getting on them

  56. because they can go out of control, you know, and unless

  57. you're really trained to tell it what to do, it just has a mind

  58. of its own. But the good news is when we

  59. come back with the Lord, don't worry about that.

  60. We're going to get on the horse. The horse is going to know

  61. exactly where it's going, what it's supposed to do.

  62. We're just going to have to hold on.

  63. That's all we're going to have to do.

  64. But Christ is going to come back on this beautiful White Horse

  65. and we're all going to ride with him.

  66. And it says he who sat on him was called faithful and true

  67. capital F, capital T in your Bibles and righteousness.

  68. He judges and makes war. Now, this is a time that I think

  69. everyone of us should be looking forward to.

  70. I was thinking about the world the way it is today and the

  71. complete ignorance that it has toward the things of God, this

  72. independence of a Creator. Sometimes you wish you had this

  73. power in you, and we do. We have the Holy Spirit's power

  74. in us, but we don't have the power to bring forth judgment,

  75. do we? Only Christ has that power and

  76. authority. Sometimes you just long for

  77. certain people you know that will realize that God is the

  78. Lord. Amen.

  79. People that scoff and ridicule and laugh at you and reject you

  80. and think you're nuts. You just can't wait for the day

  81. that they realize how real God is and how holy he is and how

  82. just and how glorious he is. But this is a day that we have

  83. to wait for when Christ comes and the liberal thought the day

  84. is I'm not a Sinner. Why would he be talking about

  85. sin? I'm a good person and how

  86. there's no such place as hell. I would not even acknowledge

  87. that a place like that exists, some might say.

  88. Someone told me recently that a relative went to a neighbor and

  89. was telling the neighbor boy about the importance of knowing

  90. Jesus Christ and accepting Him as your Savior.

  91. Because if you don't have him as your Savior and you're Lord,

  92. you'll suffer the consequences one day of eternal hell.

  93. And the mother came over very angry and very disturbed that

  94. this young man had told her son about hell.

  95. And she said, we don't believe in such a place.

  96. That's morbid. We would never accept anything

  97. like that. Well, her authority certainly

  98. isn't the word of God, is it? And sometimes it's difficult for

  99. us because if we are Christians, we have to proclaim everything

  100. that this Bible teaches, even when it makes people disturbed

  101. and when it makes them uncomfortable.

  102. And that's the difference between churches in these last

  103. days that are proclaiming the truth and churches that are

  104. proclaiming the lie. But there is this liberal

  105. thought today. There's no place in this world

  106. today for any idea of judgment. There's no consequences for sin.

  107. We make up God in our own image and and how we want to think

  108. about him. That's what's called

  109. universalism. This pretense and delusion today

  110. that people have will one day be very, very costly.

  111. If you look at Matthew Chapter 7 for a moment, the slip in your

    Matthew 7 chapter mention

  112. Bible over to the left Matthew Chapter 7, it says in verse 21

    Matthew 7 chapter mention

  113. of Matthew 7, not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord shall

  114. enter into the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will

  115. of my Father in heaven. You want to underline it in your

  116. Bible. It isn't enough this to say you

  117. believe in Christ, but you need to be doing his will like Jesus

  118. when he was on earth. He's perfect God, perfect man.

  119. He says my will is to do the will of the Father and if we're

  120. his offspring, then we should have the same desire in our

  121. hearts to do the will of the Father.

  122. He said, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we

  123. not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name and

  124. done many wonders in your name? And then I will declare to them,

  125. I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice

  126. lawlessness. And won't that be a shock to

  127. your whole life, thinking you're on the right track and you're

  128. doing the right things? But meanwhile your heart is just

  129. not pure because you haven't allowed Christ to save you.

  130. And so you're trying to be a religious person.

  131. I think of all the institutions on the face of the earth today,

  132. many churches are very religious.

  133. They have statues, they have crosses, they have icons, They

  134. have all kind of spiritual atmosphere.

  135. And yet Jesus would say many times he could say to us today,

  136. just because we have a dove that represents the Holy Spirit of

  137. the cross here. He could say these, these people

  138. worship me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

  139. And so the consequences of believing a lie.

  140. That's why the apostle Paul every time we take the Lord's

  141. Supper, he says to examine yourself, whether you're in the

  142. faith every time that supper goes around.

  143. Would the God, if any of us here are posers and we're not

  144. Christians that we would take that we would examine ourselves

  145. and we'd hear the Spirit of God say you're still lost, you're

  146. phony, you need to get saved. And if you hear that, be

  147. thankful that he's shown you that you are in delusion.

  148. But if we can take that supper and we allow the Spirit to

  149. examine us and we have that assurance, blessed assurance,

  150. Jesus is mine. Oh what a foretaste of glory

  151. define ere salvation purchased of blood born of his Spirit

  152. washed in his blood. We can know that for sure, can't

  153. we? We have that assurance in us or

  154. our heart does not condemn us. God, the Lord Jesus Christ comes

  155. with crowns of triumph and glory and deity as we see here in this

  156. section of Revelation. He's all knowing.

  157. He has flaming eyes. His eyes and verse 12 are like a

  158. flame of fire, a holy judgement. Christ, as He looks upon you and

  159. me. His Word, the Word of God, is

  160. the instrument of His righteous judgement.

  161. Look at Hebrews chapter 4. Just move over to the left there

    Hebrews 4 chapter mention

  162. a little bit a few books. Hebrews chapter 4 verse 11

    Hebrews 4:11–13

  163. through 13. It says.

  164. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest lest anyone fall

  165. according to the same example of disobedience.

  166. For the word of God and the Bible declares Christ as the

  167. Word. In the beginning was the Word

  168. and the word was with God and the Word was God.

  169. John chapter one verse one. Not like the Jehovah witnesses

  170. would say in the beginning was the Word and the word was with

  171. God and the Word was a God. No, Jesus Christ is God, not a

  172. created being. He's the second person of the

  173. Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, self

  174. existent, always existing of 1 essence with the Father.

  175. It says the word of God is living and powerful and sharper

  176. than any 2 edged sword, piercing even the division of soul and

  177. spirit and of joints and marrow. And as a discerner of the

  178. thoughts and intents of the heart.

  179. You know, when we sit here and we examine ourselves in the

  180. Lord's Supper, I can just picture like the sword picking

  181. away at my heart, pulling stuff back.

  182. Clark, I want you to see this. I want you to acknowledge this.

  183. I want you to recognize this. I want you to let this go.

  184. Let me purify you, let me carterize these places of

  185. bankruptcy in your heart, and let my spirit make your heart

  186. dislike mine. He's a discerner.

  187. He knows every thought and intent of our heart.

  188. He knows every motive. And verse 13, it says there's no

  189. creature hidden from his sight. God sees the whole earth.

  190. He sees the whole world. He sees every human being, all

  191. things are naked and open to the eyes of him with whom we must

  192. give an account. There's nothing I can hide.

  193. I can hide things from you. You can hide things from me, but

  194. we can't hide anything from the Lord God.

  195. In verse 13, it says he was clothed with a robe dipped in

  196. blood and his name is called the Word of God.

  197. The judgment that confronts God's enemies in Isaiah chapter

    Isaiah 63 chapter mention

  198. 63. If you flip over there in the

  199. Old Testament, Isaiah chapter 63, this talks about this

    Isaiah 63 chapter mention

  200. Armageddon, this final battle, one day that will come upon this

  201. earth and his second coming, the consequences of those who are

  202. going to fight against the Lord. Who is this?

  203. Who comes from Edom with dyed garments from Borzraw, This one

  204. who is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of

  205. his strength. And this is what we see depicted

  206. in Revelation 19. I who speak in righteousness,

  207. mighty to save. Why is your apparel read in your

  208. garments? Like one who treads in the

  209. winepress? Again, the same verbiage that's

  210. used in Revelation. I've trodden the winepress alone

  211. and from the people. No one was with me, for I've

  212. trodden them in my anger, and I trampled them in my fury.

  213. Their blood is sprinkled upon my garments.

  214. So what we see represented by Christ is this battle that will

  215. ensue when He comes back. For the day of vengeance is in

  216. my heart, and the year of my redeem has come.

  217. I look, but there was no one to help, and I wondered that there

  218. was no one to uphold. Therefore my arm brought

  219. salvation for me and my own fury.

  220. It sustained me. I've trodden down the people in

  221. my anger, made them drunk in my fury, and brought down their

  222. strength to the earth. His name is called the Word of

  223. God. Jesus is a visible word of the

  224. unseen God. I love it.

  225. It says in Hebrews regarding Christ himself and Hebrews

  226. chapter one verse 3. Hebrews chapter one verse 3.

  227. It says about Christ, who being the brightness of his glory in

  228. the express image of His person, on upholding all things by the

  229. word of his power. When he sat down by himself, He

  230. purged or cleanse us from our sins.

  231. He sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high, sat down on

  232. the right hand of the Father. He's the express image of his

  233. Father. And so as we look at this

  234. section of revelation, we understand that we're going to

  235. be with the Lord when he comes back.

  236. And as I described the difference between the rapture

  237. of the church and the second coming Christ, when he comes

  238. back and the second coming, his role will be absolute and

  239. authoritative. It'll be seen as an iron roll,

  240. invincible in this world. When he's rolling and reigning

  241. on this earth, there will be no more corrupt governments.

  242. There will be no immorality rolling and raging on the

  243. televisions and on the Internet, in the airwaves.

  244. It'll be a time of purity and righteousness, and nothing will

  245. be dealt with like it has been in that time compared to the way

  246. it is right now. Sometimes we wonder, why do the

  247. wicked rage, as the psalmist said, and the people imagine a

  248. vain thing? Why is it that people refuse to

  249. see their need of a Savior? Why is it that they refuse to

  250. repent? Christ has given Himself

  251. everything on behalf of the human race upon the lost, upon

  252. the Sinner, and the world keeps pushing their hands away from

  253. Him. During this time in the

  254. millennial Kingdom, when Christ rules with an iron hand for 1000

  255. years, there'll still be people born on the face of the earth.

  256. During that thousand years, there'll be sinners that will be

  257. born that will one day once again rise up at the end of that

  258. thousand years in anarchy, at the final battle of Gog and

  259. Magog. And that's right prior to the

  260. destruction of the earth, when the Bible says there will be a

  261. new heaven and a new earth that will be created.

  262. So his role will be unlike anything that we're experiencing

  263. today. Now, we have to keep in mind

  264. though, that God's hand is still on the universe.

  265. It never was off of it. Sometimes we wonder, though,

  266. don't we, God, how could you let this happen?

  267. Why did this go on? There's a purpose and a reason

  268. for everything that happens in human history.

  269. God's never sleeping. He's never ignoring the

  270. heartache and the pain of his people.

  271. Israel had to cry out for many hundreds of years before God

  272. sent a deliverer, didn't they? Before God sent Moses to pull

  273. them out of the bondage and horror of living under Pharaoh's

  274. regime? I think about the Jews and the

  275. Holocaust and those who cried out for help and for mercy.

  276. God was not silent in that time, for He had many Christians

  277. helping the Jews find a place of safety and to get out of the

  278. country. So they weren't killed in the

  279. ovens, but many were. But God was there, as He will be

  280. even during the tribulation when people were going through

  281. tremendous horror and heartache and heartbreak.

  282. And yet he'll have still on the earth a remnant, 144,000 people

  283. who will be going around sharing the good news of Jesus Christ,

  284. saying it isn't too late. Repent for the Kingdom of heaven

  285. is at hand. And Revelation chapter 14, if

    Revelation 14 chapter mention

  286. you move there for a moment, it describes in detail.

  287. And we went through this months ago regardless, starting this

  288. final reaping of the earth's harvest.

  289. Verse 14, it says, I looked, and behold a white cloud.

  290. And on the cloud sat one like the Son of Man, having on his

  291. head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

  292. Another Angel came out of the temple crying with a loud voice

  293. to him who sat on the cloud. Thrust in your sickle and reap,

  294. for the time has come for you to reap, for the harvest of the

  295. earth is ripe. So he who sat on the cloud

  296. thrust in his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

  297. Then another Angel came out of the temple which is in heaven,

  298. he also having a sharp sickle. And another Angel came out from

  299. the altar who had power over fire.

  300. He cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle,

  301. saying, Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters

  302. of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.

  303. So the angels thrust in the sickle into the earth, and

  304. gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great

  305. winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled

  306. outside the city and blood came out of the winepress up to the

  307. horse's bridal for 1600 furlong. So we see how this picture of

  308. the blood of the people who are being destroyed at this time, it

  309. says in verse 13, he's clothed with a robe dipped in blood and

  310. his name is called the word of God.

  311. Joel chapter 313 says put in the sickle for the harvest is ripe,

  312. come go down for his winepress is full.

  313. The vats overflow for their wickedness is great.

  314. I'll tell you when the Lord comes back at the second coming

  315. with us, the evil on the face of the earth, the hatred, the

  316. anarchy will be at an all time high and it's going to be a very

  317. dramatic scene when these armies on this earth will come against

  318. the armies of God. Every eye, the Bible says we'll

  319. see him when he returns. When the rapture comes, the

  320. people are going to be surprised.

  321. They're going to wonder where did everybody go?

  322. You guys probably saw some of these movies, the Left Behind

  323. series. I think they they were done

  324. rather well in the sense of least giving you a picture of

  325. what these things are going to be like.

  326. You know, someone's driving in a car and all of a sudden they're

  327. not there anymore. You know, people are in a movie

  328. theater and half the theaters wiped out.

  329. I don't know about the movies a day.

  330. If you're in a movie theater, probably most of the people be

  331. left behind, you know, But that's pretty bad out there in

  332. the theaters. You got people in airplanes

  333. flying and maybe the pilots a Christian, he's gone.

  334. It's going to be staggering. And the world's not going to

  335. know what to do with that. They're going to probably say

  336. some alien invasion. They're going to come up with

  337. some kind of ridiculous story how to deal with this in the

  338. news. But when Christ comes back the

  339. second time in verse 7 of chapter 1, it says, behold, He's

  340. coming with cloud, and every eye will see Him, even they who

  341. pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because

  342. of him. Even so, Amen.

  343. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end says the

  344. Lord who is and who was and who is to come the Almighty.

  345. What a glorious day that will be.

  346. Technology is here today. You can see events occurring

  347. live around the world on your Internet, right?

  348. Your computer. Many of you guys have cell phone

  349. capability with all kind of apps.

  350. I was thinking there should be an app for the Rapture and the

  351. second coming. We should market that stand, you

  352. know. But seriously, everybody's going

  353. to have the potential and capability of seeing all these

  354. things live as they come to pass.

  355. Will see him on the White Horse. They'll see him on the White

  356. Horse with His righteous armies following behind all of us

  357. throughout human history who are His elect.

  358. Will be following the King of kings and Lord of Lords on the

  359. horses. And the wicked on the earth at

  360. that time will look up in shock and horror to see millions upon

  361. millions of Christ's Kingdom. Converging on them from the sky,

  362. all riding on white horses. What a scene that's going to be

  363. verse 16 of chapter 19. And he has on his robe and on

  364. his thigh a name written King of kings and Lord of Lords, all who

  365. have denied the deity of Jesus Christ.

  366. And those who are currently denying, unless they repent,

  367. will see the error of their heresies.

  368. The Mormons, the race of Islam, the Jehovah Witnesses, they

  369. don't know who Jesus Christ is. They proclaim that they know

  370. him. Their literature looks like they

  371. know him. But they miss the most critical,

  372. important point. He is the King of kings and Lord

  373. of Lords. He comes in glory as God to this

  374. earth. We need to rejoice when the

  375. current events discourage us. We need to be rejoicing people

  376. when things don't seem to be going the way we would hope.

  377. When you have loved ones and family that turn from the Lord,

  378. when you have people that this blow you off, when you have

  379. people you work with that think you're nuts, when you have

  380. immediate family members, perhaps that this don't seem to

  381. care about their souls, It's heartbreaking.

  382. It's discouraging. But we're victorious people.

  383. We have one, Christ is conquered and we need to continually be

  384. reminded and we need to look at this section of Scripture and

  385. see the fulfillment of Christ's second coming again in power and

  386. glory to rule the earth as King of kings and Lord of Lords.

  387. You think I'm nuts? How many people think I'm nuts

  388. in here today? This, this is wild, man.

  389. This is like, this stuff is not of this world, this is

  390. futuristic, but it's all true. It's all going to come to pass

  391. just like it was from the prophets declaring the birth of

  392. Christ when he came the first time, right?

  393. Born in the Manger. Every detail of every prophecy

  394. was fulfilled 100% to the way that God said it would come to

  395. pass. And the same thing's going to

  396. happen when the rapture occurs, the fulfillment of prophecy, and

  397. the same thing's going to occur when Christ comes back with us

  398. at his second coming. Nothing's going to stop it.

  399. People can try to refute it today on The History Channel and

  400. say we're a bunch of nuts, we've drank the kool-aid or whatever.

  401. You know they're going to say this stuff.

  402. Don't worry about it. Just be strong in your faith,

  403. keep studying, know what you believe, why you believe it, and

  404. be able to share it in a rational and attractive and

  405. convincing way so that it'll make people think and it'll make

  406. people inquire. And I'll tell you, there's a lot

  407. of interest in the end of the world right now, isn't there?

  408. The Bible says no one knows a time or hour.

  409. You can't put any dates on it. Anytime someone sets a date, get

  410. away from their literature and their teachings, their heretics,

  411. you know, So we got like a lot of opportunity to talk to people

  412. because people are interested. So we're living in fantastic

  413. times, exciting times, glorious times.

  414. So let's all just keep heading in the right direction together

  415. as brothers and sisters in Christ and keep loving people

  416. and keep sharing your faith and ask God for patience because

  417. he's been patient with you and me, right?

  418. Still patient with us. So the love of God, that's what

  419. people need to hear about. We are digging into the Book of

  420. Revelation here on Living Waters of Grace.

  421. Pastor Clark is tackling this challenging book as we try to

  422. discern the messages that are within its pages.

  423. There's so much imagery and at times you're not always sure

  424. what's literal and what's metaphorical.

  425. At one point there's a reference to an adulterous woman riding on

  426. a beast. And as someone else mentioned,

  427. at one point it almost sounds like a rodeo from hell.

  428. And in actuality it kind of is. You learn about the downfall and

  429. demise of a sinful and rebellious world, falling down

  430. in worship to someone who is the anti hero, the enemy, Satan

  431. working his insidious ways into the minds of fallen people.

  432. It's sad and it's heartbreaking, but it's a classic story of good

  433. versus evil. Thankfully, we know how this

  434. story ends. Jesus wins, Jesus reigns, and

  435. evil is conquered once and for all.

  436. We pray and trust you've received Jesus as your Savior.

  437. But if you haven't, don't wait until the events in Revelation

  438. become what's happening on the streets.

  439. None of us wants you to be there at that time.

  440. Instead, we'd love for you to be with us in heaven as we

  441. celebrate the marriage supper with Jesus as his bridegroom.

  442. To get a better understanding of where we are in the Book of

  443. Revelation, to listen to any messages before or after this

  444. one, you can find them at our website,

  445. calvarychapelonline.com. That's it for today's edition,

  446. but we hope you'll want to hear Pastor Clark teach more from the

  447. Book of Revelation. It can be exciting to think

  448. about the future for believers, but it can feel a bit harrowing

  449. for those who don't believe. Come hear more next time on

  450. Living Waters of Grace.
