Living Dangerously

Who's happy to be in the house of the Lord today, better than any county jail on this side of the Mississippi.
-
We got people that can testify on both sides of that fence.
-
What a blessing and an honor it is to be able to come together with like-minded people.
-
We all come from different backgrounds, different places in life, but when we come together under the umbrella of the Lord, no person is any different in God's eyes, and I'm thankful for that, because I would have to be the one outside in the yard that wouldn't be allowed in.
-
So I'm gaining ground.
-
About 80 of y'all are trained.
-
Now we're about to read some scripture.
-
If you'll stand for the reading of God's word, we are going today we are going to be doing a little bit of recap, so we're going to be reading scriptures that we've been going through in the last three weeks and then we're going to end on the scripture from today.
-
Now, if you've been with us for the last three weeks, we've talked about search me, break me.
-
Now, if you've been with us for the last three weeks, we've talked about search me, break me.
-
That in between, time of being broken and everything seems like you're out by yourself and God is saying wait, and you're saying why?
-
And you don't like being stuck in the middle.
-
So we're going to read search me psalm 139.
-
If you want to write these down or mark them as we read along, feel free to.
-
Because how many of you know that when we go through a situation, we are in the middle of trials, we need encouragement and there's no better encouragement.
-
The reason why God loves relationships between his creations is because we realize that we're not alone and we're not by ourselves in this.
-
Read the Bible, read any of David's story.
-
The man who was after God's own heart was always.
-
It was like an emotional roller coaster.
-
God was great and could conquer anything.
-
And then the next thing God, where are you?
-
I'm by myself, I'm going to be, I'm going to be ate up by the animals in the desert.
-
You know all this.
-
Oh God, you're so good.
-
I'm thinking bipolar, but I'm not trying to.
-
You know, I never met the guy, but I'm saying it.
-
It seems like that kind of attitude is not so different from the people around you right now in the service today, because we have ups and we have downs.
-
So when I read scripture, when I am down, it encourages me that, hey, I'm not by myself, because in the middle of the desert sometimes it can feel very lonely, it can get hot, it can get uncomfortable, but you are never left by yourself.
-
Psalm 139, 23 through 24.
-
We read this in week one in search me.
-
Search me, o God, and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts.
-
He didn't say if I have anxious thoughts, he's admitting that he has them.
-
He didn't say if I have anxious thoughts, he's admitting that he has them.
-
In the church house we try to cover up our issues instead of exposing them.
-
And if you don't let wounds breathe, they become infected.
-
Verse 24 says point out anything now listen.
-
Now listen anything.
-
This is being in a vulnerable place with God.
-
Point out anything in me that offends you, not run it through my filter.
-
That it may be okay, but we run it through.
-
God's filter is if I should change.
-
I need to be willing to do that.
-
Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
-
And week two break me.
-
This hurts.
-
1 Corinthians, 11, 23 and 24.
-
For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself On the night when he was betrayed.
-
The Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it.
-
Then he broke.
-
Say he broke it.
-
He broke it in pieces and said this is my body which is given for you.
-
Do this in remembrance of me.
-
Week three the title was work your weight.
-
Waiting is probably the worst word in the English language that I do not like Waiting, and no man, I know I sound like a little kid, but that's just me.
-
Isaiah 40 and 31, it says but those who wait say wait.
-
Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.
-
They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
-
They shall run and not grow weary.
-
They shall walk and not faint.
-
Week number four is today's message, and that is send me.
-
What is the point of everything we've been talking about if we're not willing to go when he says go, if we're not willing to step when he makes the path clear in front of us?
-
That is my constant prayer.
-
For me personally is God, whatever you are leading me to do, just make my next step clear.
-
I don't need to know two steps in advance, I don't need to know four steps in advance.
-
I just want to know that the step that I'm about to step is ordered by you, because if not, I do not want to take it.
-
Send me Isaiah 6, 8.
-
Then I heard the Lord asking whom shall I send as a messenger to this people who will go for us?
-
I said here I am, lord.
-
Send me, let's pray.
-
Father, we thank you so much for your mercy and your grace.
-
We thank you for your presence already here.
-
I pray right now.
-
The very word of God penetrate the stone hearts that are here under my voice today.
-
Anybody who needs healed.
-
I speak healing right now in the name of Jesus.
-
If somebody does not know you, let them receive salvation before they leave here today.
-
Holy Spirit, have your way.
-
Let your gifts be active in this service today.
-
Let your presence be so evident that the non-believer cannot even deny who you are.
-
We receive this in your precious name, amen.
-
You may be seated I'm not going to trick you, maybe, but if you'll stand, I'm just kidding.
-
I'm just kidding.
-
So.
-
So I really hope these last three weeks see for me.
-
To be up here and to talk to you about something that is heavy on my heart is pointless if you don't take it home with you and implement it into your daily life.
-
Jesus called that pearls before swine Oink, oink, somebody Just kidding, and that was not a cop joke.
-
Just point that out right now.
-
Point that out right now, because I know he's got handcuffs.
-
I ain't trying to go.
-
No, I ain't going in this county.
-
Yeah, I'm going to get a ticket later.
-
I'm going to record the whole thing and play it in the next service.
-
I need some material.
-
I'm just kidding.
-
So I hope that you take what you receive at church and you put it into your life.
-
I hope that if you have been through the growth track, if you have not been through the growth track, we have a signup sheet out there.
-
Last time I looked yesterday, it was empty.
-
What the growth track is is if you want to not volunteer in the church, but if you want to be a leader in the church and you want to step up and do something, which we always have positions to do, we have some things that you need to go through.
-
If you want to vote here, you have to go through our growth track.
-
Think of it as a membership class or whatever.
-
We want to make sure that you are on the same page as we are, that you need to know what the church of God believes.
-
You need to know who you are spiritually.
-
This class in the second we actually did it one Saturday.
-
In a couple of hours we knocked it all out.
-
We had a good class, the biggest class we had had so far.
-
We used every chair in our house.
-
It was cool, and we open up our home to you.
-
We feed you snacks and things like that.
-
So even if you just want free food and you want to go through the track again, come on.
-
So that is coming up.
-
Now.
-
There's not a there's not a set date and a set time.
-
So what I do, just so you're like well, I can't do it on this day, I can't what I do is I send out a text to everyone who has signed up and I say these are the dates available, what time works for y'all, and we get together and we talk it out.
-
That way we make sure that everybody can be able to go, because it's important that a church know what we believe.
-
It's important that we know what the Bible says and we can back it up with scripture and theology.
-
You don't have to be a scholar to know theology.
-
You just got to understand what the word says, and that's what it's about.
-
My main goal here at this church is to and to me it was kind of a last will and testament that Jesus said before he ascended to the father was go and make disciples.
-
If a church is not making disciples, it will wither up and die.
-
If we are not teaching you what you need to know from the word of God, what point is it for us together Let that be a challenge to you.
-
Some of y'all just come to the trough once a week.
-
I'm going to leave that right there until later.
-
We're going to back up and ease it in a little bit, all right, so the search me part makes it where you are very vulnerable to God and this is a word that oftentimes, when you hear it because of our culture, we wrap it up in sexual things but intimacy with God, between just you and him.
-
Your spirit is bearing one with his spirit, and we see this same example when the Bible says that a man will leave his parents and become one with his wife.
-
There's an intimacy level there that we lack in the church house and our spiritual walks, because we don't want to be vulnerable and God to show us something we need to work on.
-
Am I the only one, because if I say God, search me, he will show me, and most of the times my stubborn mind I learned the hard way, so he shows me probably more publicly than he does privately, so that I will remember the lesson Break me, god.
-
Week two was break me.
-
We need to become broken.
-
We need to break easier.
-
Break easier Now why.
-
I think God gives us a lot of physical things to understand spiritual processes.
-
We have in our bodies this ability that when something breaks and we put a cast on it, it actually in that break becomes stronger than the bone was before.
-
When you become broken before God, it seems like a posture of weakness, but it is actually a bold posture that you are submitting to God and when we do that and raise him above ourselves, he raises us above everyone else.
-
Break me, willing to submit to the will of God, no matter what it looks like.
-
We have to change our mindset and have a little mind shift on this.
-
Pain equals progress.
-
We don't like that one.
-
Blessings and burdens are often wrapped in the same package because sometimes it may be heavy, but first of all, god knows what you can take on, but he also makes it a little heavier than you think you should be able to take.
-
So you'll call on him.
-
The Bible doesn't say that he'll give you he will.
-
He will never give you anything heavy.
-
What he says is if you are tempted, he will give you a way out.
-
He doesn't say he will give you things that you can bear because if you can bear them, you will not need him.
-
Pray bigger.
-
I've been really challenged on this because when we say search me this, because when we say search me God, when we say break me God, these are pretty outrageous and this is living dangerously in our spiritual walk.
-
Break me God, break me easy, allow me to be broken easier.
-
It's a mind shift.
-
We pray bigger because we need to match our prayers.
-
Now listen, the prayers we pray are great.
-
God, give us a great day.
-
Bless my kids as they go to school.
-
Let him not be stupid today.
-
God, help me not open my mouth to my wife today.
-
Give me patience in all things.
-
Please, let the kids stop fighting, you know.
-
Let the church people act right today.
-
Lord, you know all these things that we pray about are good.
-
Give us safe travels.
-
Lord, help me with this job.
-
But is your faith muscle being worked in your prayers?
-
Or are you praying things just like a slot machine?
-
You put in the quarter, you pull the thing and God's just going to give you what you asked for?
-
Are your prayers making you work?
-
Are they only asking God to Woo, come on, pray bigger.
-
Our prayers and our faith need to start matching the almighty God that we serve.
-
He is.
-
We need to stop praying baby Christian prayers and start acting like we got some faith.
-
Dig deeper, more than surface prayers.
-
We got to go deeper y'all.
-
There's a whole reason why I felt to start challenging y'all with this five, five and five.
-
Five minutes in prayer, five minutes of reading a word, five minutes of worship, because that is just a tip of the iceberg and you get to prepare yourself for the battles to come.
-
You don't prepare after the battle, you prepare before.
-
If you constantly are losing battles, it's because you're not preparing properly.
-
And when I say battle, I don't mean that jerk at work, because they are not your enemy.
-
They are not the enemy.
-
I don't know what side of the fence you sit on, but Trump is not the enemy.
-
Biden is not the enemy.
-
There are principalities that we look past.
-
Come on, we try to fight fleshly battles and get all political, and I think God Biden's there.
-
It's shown me a lot.
-
Y'all get real quiet on me now.
-
I'm not talking politics, but I'm saying you need to see things through spiritual eyes and stop looking at things through the fleshly eyes, because if he knows the number of hairs on your head and some of y'all a little less than others he didn't have to count so high.
-
But come on somebody, and if he cares enough for you, he says we are salt of the earth.
-
We're supposed to be being excuse me, we're supposed to be bringing flavor to a flavorless world that don't know God.
-
The culture is not supposed to make us do what they want.
-
We're supposed to be influencing them.
-
Well, how do we do that?
-
We don't do that with fleshly, material things.
-
We do that by getting on our knees and begging God for revival.
-
We need to start being active in the spiritual gifts that God has given you.
-
If you're sitting on what God has given you, heaven help you, because the gifts that is laid out in the word of God is not for you, the gifts God has given you, the personality God has given you.
-
We all need work, but don't let that stop you from working.
-
We got to dig deeper.
-
We got to have deeper roots.
-
We went to a state park spring break on the Friday of spring break.
-
One day we had off, shut everything down.
-
We said we're going to the park.
-
Jessie loves doing that kind of stuff, she likes going out walking and walking the trails.
-
And Tristan does for about the first 10 minutes and then he wants to do something else and kids are spaz.
-
Anyways, when you first go to the body of water and you go around we always go to left to right every single time.
-
I don't know why, but we go around and you go this curve and there's this huge tree that has fallen over since we went there a long time ago and you start looking at this tree and the root system goes way.
-
I mean, nobody in here is tall enough to stand up to the root system in this tree, not even Brother Rusty.
-
He would have to look up to this root system.
-
And this root system it's massive, like I could probably jump and touch it, but I would have to, like, maybe put my feet up the wall of it and go like that to touch it.
-
It's massive and you're thinking of it and go like that to touch it.
-
It's massive.
-
And you're thinking, man, all these roots, how in the world did it get blown over with wind?
-
The root system was wide, but it was not deep.
-
Sometimes we like to spread ourselves so thin with all of the things grabbing for our attention and our root system starts like this and we feel healthy because we're still in the ground, we're still feeling the rain that falls, we're still getting the sunshine we need.
-
But yet when something blows, our world is over.
-
Because we get blown over, it's because our root system is wide but it is not deep.
-
We have to start getting deeper into the word of God.
-
We do not need 20-year year old babies on the pews If you've been in the way, which in the Bible they say that they're talking about the Christian people.
-
But sometimes you can be in the way and be in the way because you can be the missing link in the chain, because you won't get off of your lazy horse and start getting on the meat of God.
-
It is not my responsibility to feed you when you're home.
-
Y'all didn't like that.
-
I sometimes will feed you a lot and you can pack it up and take it for leftovers, but you need to learn to cook yourself, because if you don't, you will starve.
-
Imagine if you physically man God is so awesome in the way that he displays things If you physically only ate one day of the week.
-
You would be withered up.
-
You would be weak.
-
If somebody tried to rob you, you'd just probably lay there and take it.
-
Go ahead.
-
I don't care.
-
If somebody tried to rob you, you'd just probably lay there and take it.
-
Go ahead.
-
I don't care, I can't do anything Because you have not had the nutrition that you needed.
-
Sunday mornings is a part of your nutritional pyramid.
-
You need some serious substance in your life and shame on you if the only pastor you listen to during the week is this one.
-
All right, you know my dogs I just thought of this my dogs, they we have a really big dog like she's.
-
She's a big girl and she loves food.
-
Sometimes I'll switch up their food a little bit, because one will have lamb and the other one will have steak or whatever they say is in there.
-
But they list.
-
Anybody ever buy anything that does not have ingredients.
-
You buy a bottle of water and they still have ingredients.
-
What else are you putting in there?
-
Minerals and blah, blah, blah for taste and whatever.
-
Yeah, you're trying to live on a single ingredient in your spiritual walk and wondering why you're malnourished.
-
You need to have a well-rounded digestion of good nutrition during the week.
-
You gotta dig deeper, you have to.
-
You have to Because when the wind comes, you will get blown over.
-
You have to wait longer.
-
No, no, no will get blown over.
-
You have to wait longer.
-
No, no, no, I don't.
-
We have to learn to have patience.
-
You ever prayed for patience and then all of a sudden, you find yourself waiting behind a bunch of people at Walmart and what do we do?
-
We get mad about it.
-
Wait, god, I didn't want to learn it like this.
-
I wanted you to just magically go and I got it.
-
Wouldn't that be nice?
-
But if we have that kind of and it's all done magically and we don't go through the process, we will not understand the weight that it bears and the cost that it costs you to get there.
-
You will not appreciate what God gives you, cost you to get there.
-
You will not appreciate what God gives you.
-
So in today, we land on send me.
-
This is the whole point.
-
We need to be hearers and doers.
-
We need to be disciples and people that go.
-
We need to have a go mentality.
-
There's a reason why I never went into the military.
-
There's a reason why I never went into the military.
-
I've had a lot of friends and a lot of family members that have went into the military and they have served proudly.
-
But I did not want any part of that because I wanted my life and my time to be my own.
-
They go through conditioning.
-
They have to go to boot camp and probably I mean, if I can go to boot camp or skip boot camp and sit at a desk all the time, that'd be great.
-
But that's not how they do it.
-
You go through a conditioning process to where they mentally condition you as well as physically condition you.
-
I didn't want anyone to tell me how to be conditioned and if you don't know the military, their life is no longer theirs.
-
It doesn't matter who they voted for, it doesn't matter what their beliefs are.
-
They fight for a cause not their own.
-
Now, how does this make sense?
-
You pledge yourself to a cause and a mission that is above and beyond what you are, bigger than yourself, beyond you.
-
So why is the concept of send me Lord something that we don't understand that we never pray.
-
Has anybody ever prayed?
-
Send me, lord.
-
It's a very rare prayer, because that means there's something that we have to go to a place that we haven't probably been before.
-
We have to go to a place outside of our comfort zone.
-
All of us have a place of comfort that we love to stay in.
-
We love to stay in it.
-
That's not what God tells us to do.
-
Matter of fact, most of the time, most of the time, he is telling you to go somewhere that you normally wouldn't go on your own.
-
Read any story in the Bible.
-
Jesus even prayed that the cross would not be his end point.
-
He did not want to go there.
-
That was an extreme place of uncomfortable.
-
Paul says it like this when he writes to the Romans in Romans, chapter 12, one through two.
Romans 12 chapter mention
-
We're going to write this down, but we also have it on the screen for you.
-
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you.
-
Let them be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind he will find acceptable.
-
Be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind he will find acceptable.
-
This is truly the way to worship him.
-
Don't cut, listen, listen.
-
The culture has influenced the church in such a way that we allow the culture on the outside to manipulate what God's trying to do in here.
-
We get scared of what God, in his word, says is fact and true and especially when it comes to spiritual things, we back down so quick because we don't want to offend or make somebody feel awkward.
-
I am all about making you feel all awkward up in here.
-
It is time that the church get in a place of making other people feel awkward because you believe God's going to do what he says.
-
Don't copy the behaviors and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
-
Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
-
So here's the thing Every person under the sound of my voice loves to be loved.
-
It's nice when people like you.
-
It's nice when you feel wanted.
-
We do the same thing with God.
-
We want to be pursued.
-
Anybody disagree with wanting to be pursued by God?
-
I mean he says he leaves the 99 for the one be pursued by God.
-
I mean he says he leaves the 99 for the one.
-
Has anybody in here been the one.
-
God left the 99 for you because you weren't acting right.
-
He loves to do this, but we love the salvation without the sacrifice.
-
We want all the blessings and we want all the benefits, but we don't want to be bothered.
-
We love.
-
We love to be comfortable.
-
Let me give you a reference to this.
-
In the 50s, when they had church hear that thing running right now, if you hear it, it's called an air conditioner it's called an air conditioner they would have fans.
-
That was how you fanned yourself.
-
That was the air conditioning.
-
We become so comfortable in the conditions that we now have that we don't praise God like we used to.
-
And guess what?
-
That's a dangerous place because God will get you uncomfortable real quick.
-
Anybody else got something to praise about now?
-
If not anything, air conditioning.
-
Thank the Lord for air conditioning and heating.
-
Amen, hallelujah.
-
But we don't want to be bothered and this hurts.
-
We want all that God has to offer us, but we don't want his will in our lives because it will mess up our agendas.
-
It will mess up our routines.
-
Can I tell you, I am a person of routine.
-
I put something in a place and I said this before.
-
We're at a new house now so I had to make up new routines because the old house had places that everything belonged that my wife didn't know about, apparently, and the new house now has other places for things, and so I'm learning every little thing now that I want.
-
I have a place that I stash things from the hallway, just for basic stuff Hallway paper towels.
-
I will take paper towels out of the hallway storage.
-
I will go.
-
I will put them above the cabinet right above the microwave, which is in relation to the paper towel dispenser.
-
Okay, in our master bedroom area we go, I take the same closet.
-
I get toilet paper out of that closet in the storage area.
-
I go to our bathroom or to our closet and it has shelves in there built in.
-
I put two to three rolls of toilet paper there and I go and put another one next to the one being used, right next to it a new one.
-
There's this process that I have every single time.
-
If there is only one toilet paper thing there, I go and I do the whole system again and I come back and I make it right.
-
I like things the way I like things.
-
So when God tells me to step and it doesn't feel comfortable.
-
Sometimes I tell God that don't look right.
-
Have you ever been told to do something by God?
-
Or you feel that impression, you feel that urging in your spirit and you're like man, I just need to pray about it.
-
Is that the best Christian cop-out answer ever?
-
Oh, I just need to pray about it.
-
Are we going to do this?
-
Oh, man, I need to pray about it.
-
Did you get that done?
-
Oh, I need to try that at work.
-
Hey, did you get those papers?
-
I told you I needed you to sign.
-
Oh, I think I have to pray about it.
-
I'll get back with you.
-
I'm still praying.
-
You know hadn't heard my answer yet.
-
You know the Lord's busy, but we don't want to be bothered.
-
We don't want our.
-
The atmosphere around us needs to stay exactly the way I want it.
-
If not, it messes up my whole system.
-
We bring God into the equation only when it's convenient.
-
But God is not about convenience.
-
Look up that word in the Bible.
-
I haven't found it.
-
He's not about convenience, he's about cultivation.
-
Now, for something to be able to be planted to ground, first it has to become cultivated.
-
It has to become broken so that the seed can be buried and so that it can start to mature and take root.
-
Break me, god.
-
There's a reason for brokenness, because he is trying to plant the seeds of spiritual righteousness and the spiritual fruit of the Spirit in your heart.
-
But if you do not remain broken, it will fall on hard ground, and there is nothing better to break hard ground than the shovel of the word of God.
-
For a time, a seed must be covered up, and only then, in a time of darkness, can the seed begin to grow.
-
Jesus explains this principle in a very I love Jesus so much.
-
Besides the salvation thing, like the way he speaks to people.
-
The dude is smart.
-
Okay, he's got I don't know, they didn't take IQ test in, but whatever's the highest one, he's probably got it.
-
He would have made Einstein look stupid.
-
And he starts talking to them and just the way he phrases things he goes.
-
He is so smart and intelligent but yet he goes down to the level that the people are on every single time.
-
In John, chapter 12, verse 25 and 26, it says those who love their life in this world will lose it.
-
What those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.
-
Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am and the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
-
This means that salvation is beyond getting saved.
-
It is all about sacrifice.
-
It is all about following God somewhere, following in the footsteps of Jesus.
-
Where are you leading me?
-
If we follow the life, if we want the life of God?
-
Two brothers, the mother, came to Jesus and asked will you let them be at your right hand?
-
And he said you don't even understand what you're asking, because the road to get to where we want to be spiritually is paved with so much pain and so much hurt and brokenness.
-
But to get the blessing you must go through the brokenness.
-
Break me, god.
-
This means salvation requires sacrifice.
-
You cannot live with sin and salvation at the same time.
-
Paul writes this very plainly so that we can understand.
-
In Romans 12, verse 9,.
-
It says don't just pretend to love others.
-
Hello church people.
-
Come on, where's your church face?
-
At you?
-
Come to church, you're like oh, I'm highly favored.
-
Bless you, brother.
-
You know you don't like that person.
-
Quit faking, just stop.
-
It says really love them.
-
You have to really love them.
-
So if you come from a place of compassion and love, where you have been saved to Jesus, and now you let that flow from you and through you, from the throne room to other people, it will be authentic.
-
Different personalities clash.
-
We're humans.
-
This happened in the very beginning, god knows.
-
But he's saying you need to have an authenticity about you.
-
You need to be real in your love, real in your compassion.
-
Verse nine it says don't just pretend to love others, really love them.
-
Hate what is wrong, hold tight to what is good.
-
Now, if you're like me and you were raised up in a Pentecostal house, my dad said I'm not supposed to hate.
-
But here's where we get confused.
-
We put that hate on people, and the people is not the problem, because the people are lost, dying and going to a devil's hell and we need to have a real compassion for them, that we can see them through the filter of Christ.
-
You read through the Bible.
-
The church people were Jesus' biggest problem.
-
He would eat with the sinners.
-
People would talk about him because he wasn't supposed to be who he was supposed to be with Bless God, but a haughty spirit.
-
But we need to hate sin.
-
So let me ask you this Don't answer out loud because I'm about to prove you wrong.
-
Do you hate sin?
-
Now, hate is a heavy word, it's not for the lighthearted.
-
It's not for you to say, well, I don't know, it's okay, we're kind of friends.
-
Do you hate sin?
-
Here's the problem.
-
Some of us probably most of us, have been inviting sin into our living room for years.
-
You say, well, no, sin, don't come to my house.
-
Oh, yeah, what stuff are you watching?
-
See, here's the thing.
-
I'm going to say this Y'all are probably your jaw's going to drop.
-
You may leave, I don't care.
-
Okay, allowing sinful nature and lust of the flesh into your house.
-
Now listen, I said I will never preach or teach about anything that I've not been guilty of myself.
-
We have been so conditioned by the culture to allow things to slide and we get upset with homosexuality.
-
We get mad and disgusted by homosexuality.
-
We don't want to talk to him, we don't want to see him.
-
We definitely ain't witnessing to him Homosexuality.
-
Guess what?
-
It's not the sin, that's not the issue.
-
That is an echo of what the root of the problem is.
-
The root of the problem is lust.
-
They're indulging in sinful desires.
-
Root is the lust, sexual immorality indulging in fleshly desires and not sniffing it out, attacking it and killing our flesh so that it will never return, because here's what happens.
-
Return, because here's what happens.
-
We end up allowing things that infiltrate our minds, our children Right now they're after our children and we laid the groundwork for them.
-
We allow our children to watch whatever.
-
We watch whatever.
-
We barely have a filter, just enough to make us feel a little bad that we turn it.
-
Is that a little heavy for y'all?
-
Good, because the burden is heavy.
-
I want to be a blameless, pure, holy vessel before God.
-
How do I do that?
-
By kicking the enemy out of my house, and the main way we do that is by getting rid of the things we watch, look at on our phones, the things we watch on TV, the music we listen to, because, guess what?
-
We are allowing root systems to start to take place in our lives.
-
And then we get mad about homosexuality, but we allow sexual immorality on all the shows that we watch.
-
Now you can't watch a show without it anymore.
-
I'm not mad at homosexuals they need Jesus Christ.
-
I'm not mad at the addict they need Jesus Christ.
-
But the church has to show them the way without being just like them.
-
We cannot run alongside them and say it's okay, you're going to be all right.
-
No, you're dying and going to hell.
-
Nobody wants to talk about hell anymore.
-
It is still as real as it was when my daddy was a baby.
-
God didn't change.
-
But there is an answer.
-
There is salvation, there is redemption available to those who do not know Jesus and it is our job to display that to them.
-
And to do that we got to get uncomfortable.
-
We have to be real with ourselves, saying God, search me.
-
What have I been allowing?
-
I have been so convicted in this four-week series.
-
God, search me.
-
What have I been allowing?
-
I have been so convicted in this four-week series.
-
God, what am I allowing to be in my home that is invading my little baby boy?
-
What am I allowing to be?
-
And I'll just turn it and turn it back when it's over.
-
We don't take our relationship with God serious enough.
-
If we would, we wouldn't allow the sin to be prevalent in our lives, if we got serious with God, if we really wanted to see revival.
-
You know why we don't pray for revival Because we would have to change how we live.
-
We don't pray for a move of God because that means we would have to move.
-
We would have to be active, we would have to be doing something, we would have to be out knocking on doors and in the streets, but instead we love our pews padded and our air conditioning just shy of 71.
-
God is trying to wake up the church, to step out of the comfort zone and to step into his will for your life.
-
If you've not been talking to people about God, you are not fulfilling your destiny.
-
Every person that God creates has a divine purpose.
-
If you're feeling unfulfilled in your life, it's probably because you're not doing his work.
-
First, john, chapter two, verse 15 through 17,.
-
It says this do not love this world, nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
-
You know how serious that is.
-
Verse 16, it says for the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything.
-
We see, a pride in our own achievements and possessions.
-
These are not from the Father, but are from this world, and this world is fading away.
-
Has anybody noticed that recently?
-
This world is fading away along with everything that people crave.
-
But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
-
Our mission, our purpose, our reason is to fulfill his will here on earth.
-
That is why we are here.
-
We have been failing the almighty God because we have been lazy and passive on letting sin infiltrate our churches.
-
We've allowed the devil to become our God.
-
This verse just says the things of the world.
-
If you long after the things of the world, if you only desire things of the world, there's a reason why it warns against it because it is taking the place of God in your life.
-
The children of Israel had this issue.
-
They ended up making a golden calf while their leader was face to face with God, and the thing they made the golden calf was from the blessing that God told them to receive before they left Egypt, from the blessing that God told them to receive before they left Egypt.
-
They turned the blessing into a way to serve another God.
-
Hello, god loves to bless his children, but he hates when the blessings become their God.
-
He loves his children to find sacrifice in the salvation that he offers.
-
He loves you so much that he sent his only son to not go against but to fulfill the law that we can find freedom that you do not have to cut.
-
The veil was torn.
-
You do not have to come to your pastor for salvation or for healing.
-
The Spirit, as the Spirit leads, divides these gifts amongst us.
-
I know I'm screaming, I'm yelling, but the flesh does not deserve a table, deserve a seat at the table in the church house.
-
And here's the thing we're wearing the wedding ring, married to Christ, while playing footsie with the world underneath the table.
-
Man, what are we allowing to take our focus away from God?
-
That's the whole point of this.
-
What are you allowing to take what should be God's and manipulate it to where your blessing then becomes a burden?
-
When God loves to do the opposite, he loves to turn your burdens into the blessing.
-
If you haven't noticed, the devil likes to take what God does and pervert it.
-
Galatians 2.20.
-
It says this Write this down if you're taking notes.
-
You need this, you need this, you need this, you need this.
-
Galatians 2.20, it says my old self has been crucified with Christ.
-
It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
-
So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
-
Now here's the question If Jesus gave himself willingly for you, is it not equally okay to say that we should 100% give ourselves back to him.
-
Should we not be all in for him?
-
So how do we get the flesh out?
-
We start doing the reading of the word, the praying in the spirit.
-
We should not let the culture suppress what we know is true.
-
That happened in the upper room.
-
The spirit of God has been lying dormant, covered up by our sins and self-absorption.
-
God wants to do something in this church, god wants to do something through this church, but we have to get out of the way.
-
God loves you so much that here today he brought you to a place of correction.
-
Spare the rise, spoil the child.
-
We still need correction as adults because we still act like kids.
-
Am I the only one?
-
Our flesh tries to dominate us every day.
-
I think that's why, in the morning, the Bible explains it, as every morning, his mercy and grace is new, because he knows that I'm going to need that whole portion for the whole day.
-
That's coming up.
-
Isaiah 6 and 8.
-
The same scripture we started with today's message Send me.
-
Then I heard the Lord asking whom should I send as a messenger to the people who will go for us?
-
And I said here I am.
-
Send me.
-
It's very easy to become very religious instead of relational with God.
-
We love the title of our church.
-
We love the title of our church.
-
We love the nomination.
-
We love whatever you want to slap on it.
-
The Pharisees did the exact same thing and they knew scripture, but they were so stuck on their religion they didn't even try to have a relationship with Christ.
-
You know how much I'd be beating myself up if that was me.
-
After all, the I mean they tried to kill out all the disciples because they knew something happened.
-
Something is happening here at this church.
-
The Spirit of God has been doing things.
-
I said it last Sunday you got to look at the small things sometimes, because sometimes we'll step right over what God's been doing, looking for the larger thing.
-
Sometimes we'll step right over trying to look for the big stuff that we've been praying for and God's saying listen, all things, all things, good and bad, work together for the good of those that love.
-
All things, good and bad work together for the good of those that love him.
-
All things, your bad health.
-
Why don't we listen?
-
We love listing good things sometimes, but have you thought about listing the bad things and be thankful for those?
-
That becomes a part of the brokenness.
-
God, whatever's going on, whatever you got my kid's acting this way?
-
I know my parents prayed this for me.
-
I was a grown man in age and I broke their heart.
-
I can't even.
-
I pray all the time.
-
God, do not let my kid do this to us.
-
That's a fair prayer.
-
Let him never stray.
-
Let him never taste sin the way that I tasted sin.
-
And then he comes in and hugs me and just tells me he loves me.
-
I said God, thank you so much for him even being in our home.
-
That in itself is a miracle.
-
Start thanking God for the problems and you'll begin to have progress.
-
Here I am Lord, send me God, search me, god, break me, cultivate me, help me to wait for your direction.
-
Sometimes God doesn't say no, but he says not right now.
-
Sometimes the flat tire that you have on the way to leave the house is not to make you angry.
-
Hello, it does me, but it's not there to make me angry, especially if I have an appointment I'm trying to get to.
-
It may be there because a wreck happened or would have happened if you were there in line.
-
The blessings of god sometimes are disguised by burdens, but we serve a God that makes all things, all things, work for the good of those that love him.
-
So who am I to stand in his way when he disrupts my habits and my routines?
-
Who am I to tell him what to do with my time here?
-
I am, lord.
-
Send me with every head bowed.
-
I know these last four weeks have been.
-
They've been serious prayers.
-
They've not been jokes and I joke around a lot, but I take a spiritual walk very seriously.
-
I take your relationship with God very seriously.
-
It is a burden on me that I consider a blessing.
-
If you've been having issues with this, you don't want God to see you for who you really are.
-
He sees you, but he wants you to submit it to him.
-
If you want to pray God, send me God whatever your will.
-
This is not that you're going to move or do something or go to the mission field, but maybe God wants you to be willing to do whatever he asks you to do, to fully submit everything that you are your wife, your husband, your children, your parents, everything that you are God.
-
It is yours.
