  1. Hi. This is Dave Olson.

  2. I'm the senior leader of Hartman church located in Ankeny Iowa.

  3. I hope the following message, challenges and courage's and

  4. ultimately changes you. Thanks for joining us.

  5. We're going to jump into something this morning and it's

  6. really going to be the beginning kind of a high level overview of

  7. a subject that we're going to be getting into and the days to

  8. come and really, it's going to become the inlet to two

  9. different tributaries. We're going to get down to

  10. different series. I believe that there will be,

  11. but I just kind of want to give a big overview.

  12. Now if this is your first time here, Don't Judge Me by what I

  13. say this morning. Okay, if you think I'm a

  14. heretic, hang with me. I'm going to Route it in

  15. scripture and and then, you know, we don't always talk about

  16. such weird stuff but we just just hang with me and give me a

  17. chance to make a case here this morning.

  18. But what I want to talk about is bringing I want to shed some

  19. light on Darkness. I want to look at how Darkness

  20. operates in the Earth. Paul said, we are not ignorant

  21. of the enemy enemies devices. I'm not so sure, all of us could

  22. say that. I'm not sure all of us could say

  23. with Paul and such a confident way that we're not ignorant.

  24. And so we want to look at how evil operates.

  25. I mean just give you a little background and what's prompted

  26. me to talk about this, you know, some of you have gone on saw the

  27. movie. I don't remember what it's

  28. called. Come out in Jesus name, or is

  29. that, is that the name of it? I got it the first time, and I

  30. haven't seen it yet. But, you know, I've heard great

  31. things that, you know, people are going through Deliverance in

  32. in the movie theater. And that's awesome this week, I

  33. went to hear a gal, and she spoke on Deliverance.

  34. And, and there are emphases that come through the body of Christ

  35. cyclically. And that's a good thing.

  36. God, God will begin to emphasize things that the church needs to

  37. hear it a given time, but I want to make sure as a church, we

  38. understand the concept of Deliverance, I want to, I want

  39. us to understand how Deliverance works.

  40. You can operate in Deliverance and it can be very messy and a

  41. long drawn-out process. And after all the dust is

  42. settled, the people end up I can bondage again because there are

  43. certain things we don't do or we can learn how to do Deliverance,

  44. the biblical way, and it's a much easier process.

  45. It's a much cleaner process and it also will keep people free.

  46. And so we're going to look at we're going to look at

  47. deliverance and I think we're going to go into a series on

  48. that and this will be the introduction for that.

  49. Then I want to get into a series on what Dean Briggs and Mark,

  50. breathe. Wha what they taught us.

  51. I want to get into that. And really these two things

  52. fold-in together, well really. They felt fold in well with our

  53. life groups, the emphasis of our life groups recently, because in

  54. our life groups, we've been talking about the nature of the

  55. spiritual realm and how to be spiritual men and women and how

  56. does the spiritual realm work? And how do we engage the spirit

  57. and that leads us into the whole concept of we are a trinitarian

  58. being. We are Spirit, soul and body.

  59. God is uniquely created, man. With the equipment to engage,

  60. both the spiritual realm and the Physical Realm and we need to

  61. learn to operate in both. The fact is when God created

  62. both, have the first verse in the Bible, in the beginning, God

  63. created the heavens and the Earth, they were created

  64. simultaneously because they're to function in unison together.

  65. And God uniquely made man with the equipment to engage in both

  66. the spiritual realm and in the Physical Realm.

  67. He gave us a human spirit with which we engage with God, the

  68. Holy Spirit and with which we discern what's going on in the

  69. Unseen realm around us. And he gave us a body.

  70. So that we could function in this Physical Realm, this

  71. physical world, then he gave us a soul, as kind of the liaison

  72. between the two, so we're to receive revelation.

  73. Of what's going on. We discern in our spirit

  74. process, it in our soul, make decisions in our soul and give

  75. orders to our body, to carry out, the will of God to engage

  76. the spiritual Realm. But if we don't understand that

  77. and we don't understand how to develop our spiritual senses,

  78. then we're left at a disadvantage.

  79. The fact is we are very attuned to our physical senses, but very

  80. often, very ignorant of our spiritual senses and God wants

  81. us to develop those spiritual senses.

  82. There are practical things we can do.

  83. To grow in our ability to engage the spiritual realm.

  84. Now you're kind of getting an idea why we're going to have to

  85. go into two separate series, is because there are so many things

  86. we could get into on this subject.

  87. But what I want to talk about this morning is I want to talk

  88. about the three entrances of evil into human history.

  89. The three entrances of evil. Let's pray.

  90. Father Lord, I ask God that. You would speak to us this

  91. morning. Lord, that this would become a

  92. classroom and Lord that your teaching would fall.

  93. Like rain that you would Open the Eyes of our understanding

  94. and instruct your sons and daughters Lord that we would

  95. learn and we would grow up into the wisdom and the knowledge

  96. that you have for us. Lord, and father, I ask that you

  97. would Grace me, not only to share truth but to share it in a

  98. way that's Judging, by the time we're done in Jesus name, amen.

  99. I know this could be a bummer, bummer of a subject.

  100. Just going to read read some some notes because of the nature

  101. of what we're going to talk about.

  102. I want to stay on track here. This morning the senko, the

  103. second temple Jews that was around six hundred year period.

  104. It was about 512 about 512 to 70 80.

  105. So 512 years before Christ, to 70 AD that was the second temple

  106. period and that was a time of a lot.

  107. A lot of theological activity among the Jewish people.

  108. The second Jewish the second Temple Jewish period.

  109. That's what it's referred to by Scholars.

  110. They hammered out, they had a very clear Theology of three.

  111. You could even say three Falls, you know, we talked about the

  112. fall of Adam and Eve when Adam and Eve and Hernandez in the

  113. entrance of evil, through the Disobedience of Adam and Eve and

  114. that was one of them and that is the one were most familiar with

  115. is evangelical Christians, but there are also two other

  116. entrances of evil or to other forms of fall that Acted

  117. Mankind. And what we need to understand

  118. is when we understand that we can begin to realize that there

  119. were three entrances of evil dealing with three separate

  120. groups of our beings, if you will, and I'll only one impact

  121. this. And there's three different ways

  122. that we bring the remedy to those three entrances.

  123. Okay. So there was the fall of Adam

  124. and Eve in Genesis chapter 3. And by the way, the cross deals

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  125. with all three of these matter of fact, is you delve into these

  126. second and third entrances of evil, a lot of times theologians

  127. will get into this but we don't talk about this much in the

  128. church unless we're just kind of we get into these kind of little

  129. offshoots of weird Theology and that's the way it's treated and

  130. so we kind of back away from these things.

  131. The fact is however, that this is very important stuff and it's

  132. good. And in order for us to Stand in

  133. order for us to engage and become the answer that Calvary

  134. has provided, we've got to understand how to engage these

  135. three levels of evil. Okay, so there's I'm gonna need

  136. the grace of God this morning, there's Adam, and he's fall and

  137. Genesis chapter 3. That was the fall of, Man, that

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  138. was personal evil where man, where Adam and Eve believed a

  139. lie about God and opened their heart to sin.

  140. So man's nature became sinful, that was internal sin.

  141. In the internal nature of man was fallen and corrupted.

  142. And therefore man, what had to be redeemed?

  143. Personally, that was internal sin but there were also two

  144. other episodes in which sin entered the world and and some

  145. of them they aren't as controversial as they.

  146. They used to be because there's different theological views on

  147. this. The second one is Genesis

    Genesis 6 chapter mention

  148. chapter 6, where the Watchers went in to the daughters of men.

  149. That strange passage. That says there were Watchers,

  150. they were A species of Angel. If you will that was assigned by

  151. God, to come into the Earth, but they came in and says in Genesis

    Genesis 6 chapter mention

  152. chapter 6 they recognize the beauty of the daughters of men

  153. and they went into them and the the sons of which became the

  154. heroes of old. And ceiling at what in the world

  155. do you do with that? A lot of times, we don't do

  156. anything, we skip over it because it sounds so weird.

  157. But here's the problem. If we skip the weird parts of

  158. the Bible we're going to skip some big sections of the Bible

  159. and there's a reason God put that in there.

  160. Jude refers to this first Peter refers to this and there's extra

  161. biblical material that also refers to this fall.

  162. This sin of the Watchers and there was a different type of

  163. evil that entered the world at the sin of the Watchers.

  164. Whereas through Adam and Eve, there was internal sin.

  165. And man's nature was altered by. He was, he died spiritually and

  166. had to be redeemed and born again through the Watchers.

  167. There was an external evil. All that entered, the world not

  168. only did they. They cohabitate with the

  169. daughters of men in and produced a hybrid Sons Sons that were the

  170. Giants of old and they were the heroes of old Goliath was one of

  171. them. Not only did they produce that

  172. but but we also know that they brought hidden knowledge or

  173. Forbidden Knowledge occult knowledge because they

  174. understood how the spiritual realm operated.

  175. Now there is material that we don't understand about this

  176. scenario in human history, the Bible gives us hints, there's

  177. extra biblical material, that is not part of the Canon of

  178. scripture and we need to understand this because

  179. sometimes when people talk about this scenario, they began to

  180. quote Note apocryphal books, there's nothing wrong with that.

  181. As long as we understand, the apocryphal books were not a part

  182. of the Canon of scripture, the apocryphal books, how many of

  183. you are familiar with the apocryphal books?

  184. The word apocryphal has taken on some different meanings over

  185. time. Now, it means it's kind of

  186. suspect, we're not sure the source, it's corrupted, don't

  187. don't read that. A lot of that meaning came

  188. through the referee Reformation. The problem is that is not how

  189. the The original 12 nor the early church, fathers viewed,

  190. those appraoch, offal writings, they didn't necessarily believe

  191. they were part of the Canon of scripture.

  192. I don't believe they should be part of the Canon of scripture,

  193. but what they did view it as is accurate history.

  194. They looked at it as an act, it was a representation of the

  195. world view of the Jewish people at that time, and that was the

  196. world, the context, the mindset, the world view out of which the

  197. apostles wrote, the Jurors and the early church fathers and the

  198. early church fathers referred to some of these books.

  199. Even Jude quotes one of the apocryphal books.

  200. First Peter alludes to it. And you can see as you begin to

  201. understand this second entrance of evil, there's things that

  202. Paul wrote that suddenly being makes sense.

  203. For instance, when Paul said that women should worship with

  204. their head covered because of the Angels, You ever wondered

  205. what that was about? It's a reference back to this

  206. fall. This Watcher entrance, we're not

  207. going to get into that. If you're interested in some

  208. material to read on that some solid theologians, I'll, I'll

  209. give you some recommendations. If you come and see me So we

  210. need the reason I bring this up is there are things that we can

  211. derive from these apocryphal books that gives us the

  212. framework of the biblical writers.

  213. It doesn't mean that we trust everything that was written in

  214. those books, matter of fact, Martin Luther one of the

  215. reformers, what he did is he when he would publish his

  216. Lutheran Bible, they have the Old Testament, the New

  217. Testament, and in between, they had a different section of the

  218. apocryphal books. They didn't look at them as

  219. inspired or God. Breathes like the rest of the

  220. book, The Bible, but they did recognize that there was a value

  221. to it because it provided the biblical worldview, we know from

  222. The Book of Enoch, one of the apocryphal books because

  223. originally the name the word apocryphal literally meant that

  224. it bore the name of an author. That wasn't bore the name of

  225. someone that wasn't the author. So there's Scholars.

  226. Don't believe that Enoch wrote the Book of Enoch.

  227. Now, there may have been a large amount of of oral history that

  228. was passed down from Enoch. But the person who put the pen

  229. to it during the second temple, period was not Enoch.

  230. He was long gone. He lived a long time but not

  231. that long. And so that that's originally

  232. what that word meant and that doesn't undermine the veracity

  233. of the book again. I'm not saying it's inspired of

  234. God and God breathed in the sense, it's without error.

  235. But I am saying it just because it's called Enoch, it wasn't

  236. written by in it doesn't undermine the veracity because

  237. the book of second Samuel was not written by Samuel because

  238. Sammy was dead by the time it was written the all the all the

  239. I mean he wasn't that prophetic he didn't, you know, well he was

  240. still alive right about everything that was going to

  241. happen. and after his death, it bore his name because it was

  242. from that era of Samuel's Ministry.

  243. And so the Book of Enoch tells us that they also brought

  244. Forbidden Knowledge now in recent years back.

  245. As early as recent as the 1940s, there has been Unearthed some

  246. documents and an ancient language called ugaritic and it

  247. was the language of the Hittites and it's been fascinating as

  248. they found this as they've Unearthed.

  249. Language and and Scholars have begun to be familiar with this

  250. language and begin to translate it, how closely it lays over the

  251. Hebrew language, they Adam ology of it, a lot of the same

  252. worldview and we see this. Also as you get into Persia into

  253. Babylon, there's a lot of the same worldview.

  254. Matter of fact, you get into Greece in mythology and the war

  255. of the Gods and Samson being, you know, the strong man, the

  256. great warrior. That was the product of God.

  257. God in heaven and a woman on earth and he was a hybrid.

  258. All of that mythology comes out of this passage and this common

  259. shared history of the ancient world.

  260. We put it at say it again. It's a shared history that all

  261. of these ancient societies had stories of now, Pagan or

  262. atheist, anthropologists will say see they're all just

  263. borrowing from each other. It's all mythology and

  264. Superstition just because they all had a similar story.

  265. Does it mean that they were all making up and someone made?

  266. And they were all sharing the same religion.

  267. Any more than if you see a car wreck and you talked to five

  268. different people as Witnesses older, their stories pretty I

  269. believe they must be making it up.

  270. No, it's it where they agree is where you can be pretty

  271. confident. There's some truth behind that.

  272. Correct. The same is true with literary

  273. interpretation. So as you get into these ancient

  274. cultures, they all have their story of a flood and the flood

  275. was a judgment on these Watchers going into the daughters of men.

  276. That was the purpose of the flood.

  277. The only difference is where they diverge and they disagree

  278. is the Jewish people had something different.

  279. They believed about that and much of Jewish scripture was

  280. actually written as a polemic against what these other

  281. societies believe it. Because he's other societies

  282. believed that this was a positive thing and the hero of

  283. their story were the Watchers who were coming down and trying

  284. to help mankind by giving them wisdom.

  285. They would not have had had they not arrived but the Jewish

  286. scriptures being in touch with the most high God, they

  287. understood that this was these were Rogue entities that came

  288. under the Judgment of God. And the fascinating thing is you

  289. get into Persian literature, Babylonian literature ugaritic

  290. lid, Literature all these. They all have this story, even

  291. the Grecian literature of Mythology, you know, Greece

  292. Grisha mythology, and all that stuff.

  293. They all have a story of some type of rebellion like this.

  294. And the top God in their, their theology judged.

  295. These beings and put them in Chains, which is what first

  296. Peter and Jude tells happened. The difference is the Jewish

  297. people understood this was rebellion and that Forbidden

  298. Knowledge introduced tremendous chaos into the world, it harmed,

  299. man. The Babylonians they saw

  300. themselves as the recipients of the Hidden wisdom and and all

  301. the, you know, the Magi the were who are Majesty ins all of them,

  302. they were they would study the stars but they would also this

  303. oral history there were trying to pass it down and keep hold of

  304. this. Forbidden wisdom.

  305. It was occult wisdom. It's forbidden.

  306. Some of it works but it will destroy you.

  307. There's a way that seems right to a man, but in the end there

  308. is of his death and were to follow the spirit of God, to

  309. learn of the spiritual realm, study the scriptures, and not to

  310. get outside the boundaries that God has given us and the

  311. boundaries are very clear. You don't get into the occult,

  312. you don't, you don't try to contact the dead, you don't get

  313. into Witchcraft. And those were the things that

  314. the Book of Enoch tells us that these Watchers brought to the

  315. Sons and Daughters of men. They the And of weaponry and

  316. tremendous sexual perversion, which altered Humanities to the

  317. point where it says every thought was evil continually.

  318. So God said, I'm going to wipe this thing out.

  319. I found one righteous man and even the wording of the Hebrew

  320. insinuates that he. It very well could be

  321. interpreted. There's two different ways that

  322. it could be interpreted that he was one of the final strains of

  323. mankind whose bloodline was pure and wasn't contaminated by this

  324. hybrid, blood of the Watchers. And so God preserved Noah.

  325. Did I say Abraham Noah preserve Noah through the flood.

  326. And so we have in chapter then chapter 11 of of Genesis they

  327. try to build the Tower of Babel. This is that we're entering into

  328. the third fall. Okay so we have the first fall

  329. individual personal evil Adam and Eve believed a lie fell into

  330. sin. They personally Needed

  331. Redemption, their Spirit man died.

  332. They needed to be born again. Their Spirit needed to be

  333. infused with the life of God once again.

  334. And that's what the born-again experience is.

  335. Our spirit man, coming back to life.

  336. First Corinthians 6, as he was joined to the spirit, becomes

  337. one with him in spirit. So we're the theological term is

  338. regenerated. The genetic code of God is

  339. actually infused into us so much.

  340. So that Paul rebukes. The Believers of the New

  341. Testament, said you're acting like Mere Men.

  342. You're to be the god. Men.

  343. You're Not Mere human beings. You've been infused with the

  344. spirit of the Living, God. You're born again, Sons, and

  345. Daughters of God. Now, all of that is, you know,

  346. we're familiar with that biblical theology in the Evangel

  347. Evangelical Church. What's interesting is when you

  348. begin to look at through the lens of the second fall and the

  349. Watchers came into the daughters of men to, to raise up a new

  350. race, their own sons and daughters.

  351. And so, what was God's answer? To impregnate a young virgin to

  352. bring forth his son to bring forth a new human race, redeem

  353. Sons, and Daughters of God. And so when you begin to

  354. understand this second type of fall, you begin to realize that

  355. much of what Jesus did was addressing this.

  356. And not just this. Yes, he was addressing this.

  357. We need to be born again, but he was also dealing with the cosmic

  358. evil that infected that all that, that, that demonic

  359. knowledge, that came into the Earth.

  360. Rome. He was dealing with that, but he

  361. was also dealing with the third entrance of evil and the third

  362. entrance of evil is in Genesis chapter 11.

    Genesis 11 chapter mention

  363. We remember when Nimrod at the, After the flood, they were to

  364. spread across the world and, and inhabit the Earth.

  365. But what they did is they gathered around Nimrod whose

  366. name has now become an insult. But he was at says, he was a

  367. great warrior before the Lord. The Septuagint says, he was a

  368. great warrior against the Lord. And he built a ziggurat.

  369. It wasn't just at our, it was a ziggurat, it was a man-made

  370. Mountain because in the ancient world the mountains were the

  371. place of the Gods and they looked up and it was it was

  372. where Heaven met Earth. You would Ascend the mountain at

  373. which some point which the clouds that you'd walk right

  374. into the clouds. You'd walk into the heavens.

  375. Even Moses went and met God on the mountain.

  376. Matter of fact in Ezekiel Eden is referred to as a mountain.

  377. And so what Nimrod was trying to do, I just love that.

  378. His name isn't an insult that Nimrod that Nimrod and Nimrod he

  379. was trying to build a ziggurat, a man-made Mountain to replicate

  380. the the sin of the Watchers. He wanted to attract that.

  381. And so what did God do? He came down and confuse them

  382. and disperse them across by language.

  383. Across the nations of the Earth. This is what Paul is referring

  384. to when he comes. Remember, when he's on Mars Hill

  385. and he preaches and he said, you gotta you gotta an idol to an

  386. unknown. God, this is the god that I

  387. Proclaim to you, God has chosen the times and places in which

  388. men should live, it's a reference to that dispersion God

  389. assigned places to mankind. Because it was his strategy to

  390. take the world back. So Deuteronomy 32, let's look at

  391. that Deuteronomy 32. If I can find that Passage Look

  392. at Deuteronomy 32 verse 8 now depending on the translation you

    Deuteronomy 32:8

  393. choose will determine how this is translated because there's

  394. some texts ancient texts that are different.

  395. The masoretic text reads this way and the ESV which is really

  396. a very, very respected. It's probably looked at as the

  397. scholarly version today it's a lot of a lot of Scholars really

  398. gravitate towards the V. Many of you remember Pastor Bob

  399. that was with us. Bob had to academic master's

  400. degrees and you know, was read Greek and so forth and he loved

  401. the ESV said it was a very accurate translation.

  402. This is how the ESV translates it and it's also how the

  403. Septuagint translates. It the Septuagint.

  404. By the way, is the Greek version of the Old Testament.

  405. Alexander the Great. Had it commissioned.

  406. Because he had conquered Egypt. He wanted, he started this city.

  407. Humbly called it Alexandria. After his own name and wanted

  408. that to be the location of the most ultimate library in human

  409. history. Every document in human history

  410. would be translated in then, put in there translated into Greek.

  411. So we got a bunch of Hebrew Scholars to take the Hebrew

  412. scriptures and translate them into Greek in the value for you.

  413. And I is that these men lived very close to the time of that

  414. original language. And so they were familiar with

  415. the Linguistics in the nuances and so when they translated it,

  416. In Greek. Now we have a Greek text to

  417. compare with the Hebrew text and to look at them both and it

  418. helps us narrow down. The meaning of words that could

  419. mean two different things. And so that's why you'll hear

  420. people talk about the Septuagint, that's why it's

  421. valuable. So, listen to what it says in

  422. verse 8, when the most high gave the nation's their inheritance,

  423. when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the people

  424. according to the number of the sons of God But the Lord's

  425. portion is his people. Jacob his allotted Heritage.

  426. What in the world is that? It's a reference to Genesis

    Genesis 11 chapter mention

  427. chapter 11 when God dispersed mankind.

  428. And he sent them across the nation's and it says he divided

  429. mankind, he fixed the borders, the people's, according to the

  430. number of the sons of God, who are the sons of God, we see them

  431. show up in a numerous passages. In scripture.

  432. We see him show up in Job, chapter 1, the the sons of God

    Job 1 chapter mention

  433. came before the throne and God God was talking to them and the

  434. Satan was there. And he said, you know, where you

  435. been, he said, I've been roaming through the Earth.

  436. It says the sons of God convened.

  437. There's numerous passage that refer to them.

  438. One of the most famous of which is Psalm 82.

  439. We're going to get there in a moment because that is a strange

  440. passage that God addresses what he said he did here.

  441. Now, Jenna's are Deuteronomy 32 was Moses laughs.

  442. It's called the song of Moses. It was kind of his last address

  443. to the people of Israel. He'd been leading them.

  444. He wasn't allowed to go into the promised land, because he had

  445. violated what the Lord told him to do with great responsibility

  446. with great. Revelation comes great

  447. responsibility, and the Lord was severe with Moses.

  448. He wasn't allowed to go in before his death.

  449. Although he showed up in the New Testament with Jesus, so he got

  450. in halleloo. So but Moses is addressing

  451. Israel. And he refers back to what

  452. happened in Genesis 11. He said God divided the nation's

  453. that happened at Genesis 11 Scholars, agree that that's what

  454. he was referring to. Some translations will say and

  455. he divided the nation's up among the sons of Israel, which would

  456. not make sense because Israel did not yet exist because it's

  457. the not until the next chapter that he introduces Abraham.

  458. Why? Because what he's doing in

  459. Genesis 11, he said fine I told you to go across the Earth.

  460. I'm going to divide you up among the Earth and I'm going to start

  461. a nation for myself. And who was that?

  462. Man? The very next chapter and Abram.

  463. From Ur hears, the voice of the Lord.

  464. Go to a place. I will tell you about and he

  465. gives him what's known as The abrahamic Blessing.

  466. He said I will bless you and you will what be a blessing to what

  467. all the nations of the Earth? And so God kept Israel for

  468. himself and delegated. The oversight of these other

  469. nations to these sons of God. Okay, but look at Psalm chapter

    Psalms 82 chapter mention

  470. 82. There's been a lot of scholarly

  471. writing done on these. These passages in recent Years,

  472. A lot of it is Big because of a scholar that recently died by

  473. the name of Michael heizer. I love his stuff.

  474. I know some of you have read his stuff, but there's other

  475. Scholars as well. And a lot of it is come, there's

  476. it because of the discovery of who, Riddick writings, they

  477. realize how much that dovetails with The Jewish writings and its

  478. really set, kind of opened up some things.

  479. And, and so, look at Psalm 82 verse 1, God has taken his

    Psalms 82:1

  480. place. In the Divine Council, in the

  481. midst of the Gods, he holds judgment.

  482. How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the

  483. wicked Selah? Give Justice to the weak and the

  484. fatherless maintain the right of The Afflicted and destitute

  485. rescue the weak and the needy and deliver him from the hand of

  486. the wicked. Then he rebukes him.

  487. They have neither knowledge nor understanding they walk about

  488. and what in darkness, all the foundations of the Earth are

  489. shaken. Now you can read that verse 5 as

  490. a a compassionate declaration over what's become of the sons

  491. of men or a rebuke to the sons of God, verse 6.

  492. I Ed speaking of God saying you are God's sons of the most high

  493. all of you. Nevertheless like men you shall

  494. die and fall like any prints verse 8 arise o.

  495. God judge the Earth for you shall inherit all the nations.

  496. What in the world is he talking about?

  497. In verse 1. It says he takes his seat in the

  498. council among the gods and he refers to these Gods as sons of

  499. gods. Now don't let that make you

  500. stumble and think, well, the Bible's talking about

  501. polytheism. It's talking about created

  502. beings that are of divine divine nature, an elevation, they are

  503. created, but they are considered the sons of God.

  504. God has a family in the heavens and he has a family on Earth

  505. son's on the Earth. The sons of God on the Earth.

  506. But in this, when God takes his seat in the council, we see this

  507. count this Divine Council seen show up in a number of passages.

  508. Again. In Job, chapter 1, we see one,

    Job 1 chapter mention

  509. we see it in. I want to say it's First Kings.

  510. Where the Lord was it? Oh, I forget his name.

  511. He was a prophet not, he's only mentioned it, one passage and

  512. The righteous king of Judah is going to war with the

  513. unrighteous king of Israel Ahab and so he says let's ask a

  514. prophet of God and the prophet of God says go ahead and do

  515. whatever you want. God's going to give you Victory

  516. and Ahab. Rebukes him says, how many times

  517. do I gotta tell you? Don't just tell me what, what I

  518. want to hear? Tell me what God is.

  519. God, is really saying, and then he says, I saw a vision and

  520. there was, it was a Divine Council scene where God is

  521. sitting among these beings. And he says, how are we going to

  522. tempt a half? And a spirit comes up and says,

  523. I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of His prophets and he

  524. said, that's what we're going to do.

  525. And that's exactly what happened.

  526. That's a Divine Council seen. Now that in and of itself has

  527. all kinds of questions that arise within our hearts, doesn't

  528. it. We're not going to do with that

  529. today. So what we have are these Divine

  530. Council scenes but in this passage, what's going on is God

  531. is rebuking those that He gave charge of the nation's.

  532. So what we have is God saying listen, how long are you going

  533. to cater towards the powerful and ignore the destitute and he

  534. rebukes them and he closes it says you are all gods but you

  535. will die like men. He's talking about the Judgment

  536. that's going to come on. These Beings.

  537. So in Deuteronomy chapter 32 and Genesis 11, he delegates the

    Deuteronomy 32 chapter mention

  538. Nations to them and Psalm 82. He rebukes them and says, I'm

  539. going to strip you of your power because you have not operated in

  540. the way that I intended for you to operate and in Colossians it

  541. says that he stripped the principalities of their power

  542. and made an open spectacle of them.

  543. So he carried out the sentence that he decreed over them in

  544. Deuteronomy 9. In Psalm 82.

  545. He carried it out at Calvary and talked about it in Colossians

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

  546. chapter 2. This is a different rebellion

  547. and it explains why then there's these what what the book of

  548. Psalms calls these sons of God. The book of Ephesians calls

  549. principalities and Powers. We see this same theology show

  550. up in Daniel. And when Daniel is writing about

  551. this, and talking about these encounters, matter of fact, in

  552. Daniel, we see these Watcher Angels show up and we know that

  553. some of them are doing God's bidding.

  554. So, not all the Watchers rebelled there were at least a

  555. class of Spiritual Beings. The Babylonian people had a

  556. framework for a Divine Council. You can find it in all their

  557. writings. The ooga Riddick writings, the

  558. Persian writings of Babylonian writings, there is language of

  559. this Divine Council and the Hebrews had the same theology.

  560. The problem was the other cultures had a corrupted version

  561. of it and that is why the Hebrews referred to their God as

  562. the most high God. It's not that they believed in

  563. polytheism. They just use that terminology

  564. in a different way than you and I do.

  565. And so they were beings to which God delegated authority.

  566. So we have the personal rebellion of Adam and Eve which

  567. we inherited. We were born dead in our

  568. trespasses and sins. Jesus died on Calvary to redeem

  569. us from that personal fall, and to give us a new nature, so that

  570. we could be born again Sons and Daughters of God, there was the

  571. second fall of the Watchers who were judged.

  572. That's why people will read in 1st Peter and say well if these

  573. these Fallen beings were sentenced to chains and their in

  574. Chains of Darkness. Then where are these demons

  575. coming from? And where all, you know, what

  576. are we dealing with now? If they're in Chains, It's

  577. because these Watchers were not demons, they were the fallen

  578. Guardians, so to speak, and they are in Chains.

  579. They're not roaming about And then we have these Rogue rulers.

  580. We know now as principalities that rule over municipalities

  581. and geographic regions. Their Authority is designated to

  582. them by Geographic boundary lines.

  583. It's interesting, you never see. Jesus rebuked a principality.

  584. Well, he walked the Earth in his ministry.

  585. There's a reason for that. You do see him casting out

  586. Devils demons and so we need to understand.

  587. Now you're some of you are looking at me and I don't blame

  588. you. You're like Pastor, what does

  589. all this have to do with me struggling with, you know, my

  590. anger. Let me get there.

  591. What will make this really practical?

  592. Okay, This fall. Affected your nature.

  593. And you were born again, but now you need to grow up into that

  594. nature and you need to put off the old nature.

  595. You can't cast that old nature out.

  596. You don't, you know? I'm a rebuke that Fallen nature.

  597. I cast you out. Good luck with that.

  598. This is a process and not an event and you've got to learn to

  599. deal with your flesh. You've got to learn discipline.

  600. This doesn't come out by Deliverance.

  601. Okay. This one, this is where

  602. Deliverance comes in because we have the Book of Enoch tells us

  603. in some of the early church fathers quote, this so

  604. understand, we don't see this directly in scripture.

  605. There's a question. A lot of people believed that

  606. demons were the fallen angels that is not the case.

  607. The fallen angels. Are these spirits that are

  608. ruling over regions and the Watchers that are already in

  609. Chains. Demons Are Not Angels.

  610. Enoch tells us and the early church fathers quoted this.

  611. This was the Theology of the early church that the demons

  612. were the disembodied spirits of this hybrid race known as the

  613. Nephilim. These, these Giants that were

  614. half Angelic being and half humanoid and God judge them, but

  615. they didn't go to hell because they weren't purely human.

  616. So, these disembodied Spirits, so Enoch uses this type of

  617. language hungering, they cannot eat thirsting, they cannot

  618. drink. So they long to find a human

  619. host through which they can satisfy their longings.

  620. They're looking to embody another person inhabit them to

  621. lure them into the perversion. They once enjoyed so that they

  622. can momentarily enjoy that sin. Once again, they ride, you like

  623. a, like a beast of burden until they wear you out and destroy

  624. you. And then they look for another.

  625. That is the demons demons. We cast out.

  626. Demons, we take authority over. You can't take, you don't take

  627. authority and cast out your flesh.

  628. You overcome it, you discipline yourself, you renew your mind.

  629. Well, maybe we'll get into this in a Sunday soon.

  630. The trinitarian nature of man, we need to understand.

  631. We feed our spirit, we grow our spirit man.

  632. We grow up into him. Who is the head?

  633. But we discipline our flesh. We tell it.

  634. No. Tom reached out to me yesterday.

  635. Pastor IHOP's having, this 21-day fast for Israel.

  636. Are we in or not? And I've known about it, and I

  637. felt called to it, but I'll have to admit.

  638. My flesh has been But I leaned over to my wife this morning

  639. after worship and I said, I am fat.

  640. I need a fast, but that's not why I'm going too fast.

  641. I need to, I need to discipline my body.

  642. I need to drag it around, I need to tell it.

  643. No, hey, you do what I say? Because there was a time where

  644. my body did that to my spirit, you're going to go with me and

  645. I'm like Now my spirits gone better, you're gonna do what I

  646. say? Hopefully, my spirit My Flesh,

  647. sounds like that dragging around and every now and then just tell

  648. it what to do. We need to discipline our flesh

  649. and then in our so we need to renew our mind.

  650. We need to learn not to follow our emotions but have them

  651. follow us, not a preach, not this morning, but one of these

  652. days and Then we need to discipline our well, so that the

  653. soul can become the liaison for what's going on in heaven.

  654. Our spirit receives from God and executes, his decisions in our

  655. body and we live a blessed life and we give it away because when

  656. we follow him, I'm not saying that there won't be no problems

  657. by matej. There's a whole lot less

  658. problems. Okay, life works.

  659. When you follow him, And so we discipline our flesh, our that

  660. nature. We've got to learn to live in

  661. that higher nature are in this area.

  662. We rebuke demons, we cast them out.

  663. We're going to talk about how that happens because I'm

  664. concerned about some of the teaching I'm hearing flying

  665. around about deliverance. And you can see some movement,

  666. you can see some dramatic manifestations but people will

  667. not remain free unless you do. Eel with the legalities of its

  668. entrance you've got to deal with the legal ground and so we're

  669. going to unpack that and this is just kind of the intro.

  670. Okay over here, we don't cast out principalities I don't

  671. rebuke principalities. We do wrestle with them.

  672. Paul says There is an engagement with them in the region, where

  673. we take our stand and there's even an engagement and worship,

  674. which will take us down the other land that Mark and Dean

  675. were talking about where we are. Declaring the wonders of Heaven.

  676. We're declaring The Works of God were pressing the crown rights

  677. of King Jesus In Worship. We're declaring his victory over

  678. them the public shame that he exposed them to because they are

  679. now squatters Our Rogue residents over regions that need

  680. to be displaced by the Earthly sons of God, displacing the

  681. spiritual sons of God and will look at all that works.

  682. But the problem is, when people think you cast out

  683. principalities at best, you're certain of you.

  684. Sure you're going to war with a squirt gun and at worst, you can

  685. get yourself in some Pro trouble.

  686. And if you think you can cast out your flesh, well, good luck

  687. with that. So we need to understand that

  688. we're three entrance entries points of evil and each one

  689. deals with a different group. This one it be us.

  690. You remember that old comic book, you know, what was it?

  691. There was an old comic. It said we found the enemy and

  692. he is us. We're the enemy to be dealt with

  693. here. This one, it's these, low-level

  694. demons demons are not Fallen. Angels, their disembodied

  695. spirits of these hybrid men and they bow at the name of Jesus,

  696. we don't beg them, we don't ask them, we tell them, they are

  697. under our feet, their low-level Spirits, they've been stripped

  698. and they're just they're under the Judgment of God and we don't

  699. put up with that and we'll talk about can a Christian need

  700. Deliverance. They most certainly can.

  701. But how does that work? If you if you believe Al pastor.

  702. I think that's a radical hang with me.

  703. We'll get to that in a few weeks and I'll I'll make a Biblical

  704. case for it. Part of it gets into Spirit,

  705. soul, and body. Part of it gets into legally and

  706. living in something experientially.

  707. That's legally, ours, and all of those things, the nuances of, of

  708. our Redemption. We need to understand those

  709. things because our ignorance will cost us.

  710. And there are a lot of people that are driven to things in

  711. there, they're consumed and tormented and they don't need to

  712. be because they're not dealing with the Demonic entry in their

  713. life and we want to close those things.

  714. And we do want to be a people that displace.

  715. Those Rogue rulers over our region, but we need to

  716. understand how to do that. We need to understand how the

  717. spiritual realm works, and we need to understand these are not

  718. demons. Is that are in the heavens.

  719. There are a couple of passages in the Old Testament that refer

  720. to them as demons and those are poor translations.

  721. However, When you get into the New Testament, the the

  722. terminology of demon does kind of expand.

  723. And so, we are dealing with the Demonic realm.

  724. When we talked about the kingdom of darkness, or the Demonic

  725. realm, it has to do with those principalities and powers and

  726. those low-level some people call them Critters, those demons,

  727. those things that we need to, we need to sometimes when we pray

  728. and deliverance over someone and someone's Go.

  729. You know they're demonized and they're getting delivered.

  730. Sometimes I'll just bend down there and start to quote

  731. scripture in their ear to torment, the Tormentor on their

  732. way out. Hallelujah.

  733. We don't need to put up with those things.

  734. We need to live righteously live under the blood and deal with

  735. it, but this is a whole different deal and this is

  736. engaged in a different way and we God wants to give his people

  737. to Victory. So let me close with this.

  738. The, the final verse of Psalm chapter 82, was it said, it

    Psalms 82 chapter mention

  739. says, let me read it to you. Arise o.

  740. God judge the Earth. I would propose to you.

  741. That is an allusion to the resurrection itself.

  742. That in the resurrection, he stripped them of their power.

  743. For you shall inherit All Nations?

  744. God said I'm taking him back now.

  745. Here's the deal. You and I are the ones, the

  746. agents through, which the Judgment comes on our Flesh, on

  747. the demons, and on the principalities and powers in the

  748. Nations. You and I are the vehicle of

  749. God's power and authority his judgment on all three entities.

  750. But we've got to understand so we can get our minds around it

  751. and that we are not living in ignorance of these things.

  752. And then we can lay claim, the Great Commission, go into all

  753. nations. What did Jesus say?

  754. All authority has been given unto me.

  755. Therefore, go preach the gospel to All Nations That is a real.

  756. What he's doing is he's he's making good on his declaration

  757. to Abraham and he's making good on his declaration.

  758. In Psalm 82. We now go into all nations, as

  759. I've learned this. The last number of years, when I

  760. go into another country, I'll go stand on the balcony of my hotel

  761. before we're going to preach somewhere and I don't scream it,

  762. you know. No one else has to but I just I

  763. just go in there and I just began to declare I've arrived as

  764. a son of the most high God and I bear his kingdom and I've come

  765. to undo the works of the enemy. I've come in with the

  766. proclamation of the Gospel of the kingdom, and I've come in to

  767. take this nation back. This brings a whole new

  768. dimension. When we talk about missions,

  769. we've got to deal with those principalities and Powers, but

  770. it's not through an arrogance where we just start.

  771. Slinging hash, and rebuking, principalities we come in under

  772. the word of the Lord, as sent ones, when we are sent, I'm

  773. telling you, there's a big, that's why, you know, when we

  774. when John and Laura came up here today, they feel called to go to

  775. Brazil. They have done Ministry there

  776. before this. This is not just a whim like oh

  777. I've heard it's nice. This time of year, let's go to

  778. Brazil. Eenie meenie miney mo, let's do

  779. Brasil. There's there's a calling to go

  780. there but that's why we also send them.

  781. Because we understand that there is, there is something about

  782. going into these regions that are still occupied by those

  783. Rogue entities. And we come in and we begin to

  784. preach the gospel and it undo does the work of the enemy?

  785. I would propose to you that the passage that says one day,

  786. there's the dragon is remember in Revelation it.

  787. Throw his throne to the Earth and it says he perceives that

  788. his time is short and he had great wrath.

  789. Remember that he's thrown to the Earth?

  790. What is that? He no longer occupies.

  791. The Heavenly Realms. There is going to come a time

  792. before this thing called human history wraps up where the

  793. church the ascending church is going to occupy its position in

  794. Heavenly Realms. You are seated in Heavenly

  795. Realms with Christ It's yours legally but we need to move into

  796. it actually. And it comes through US

  797. corporately ascending, as the people of God and occupying our

  798. place of judicial Authority and as we do the enemy is displaced.

  799. Revival is nothing more and nothing less than the the Enemy

  800. being displaced and those influential positions for a

  801. season. And when that happens, there is

  802. time for great Kingdom advancement, and we've got to

  803. fill those spaces before. The enemy can come back, look

  804. into that house that large house of a region.

  805. Find it, swept clean, but uninhabited and come back in.

  806. And so we're going to look at these themes over the next

  807. number of months and we're going to we're going to work out a

  808. theologist. Now if I'm serious.

  809. If anything I said to you worries you today about my

  810. theology come and talk to me because I want to make sure

  811. we're rooting this in the scriptures.

  812. This is a thoroughly scriptural theology but for some of you

  813. it's like I've never heard anybody getting up open, talk

  814. like that neither by. So let's let's talk this

  815. through. We're going to we're going to do

  816. a deep dive. I'm going to go precept upon

  817. precept, build this in the word of God because I believe we're

  818. entering a time where we're going to need to know more than

  819. ever. How to exercise the Dominion

  820. purchase for us at Calvary? Amen.

  821. Amen. All right, let's tell you what,

  822. let's do this. Let me close with this because I

  823. got 8 minutes. This is amazing.

  824. It. Now you're worried.

  825. Oh, he's going to go 20, I know him.

  826. Your flesh, you know, it is signs and wonders that the, the

  827. flesh. We need to discipline it.

  828. We need to confront it. We need to repent.

  829. We need to ask God to help us with these.

  830. A lot of times what we struggle with in our flesh, is the result

  831. of woundedness in our soul. And so in trying to relieve our

  832. self of emotional pain, we try to get into the saccharine

  833. temporary saccharine, sweet experience.

  834. Sense of sin. And then we pay the price and if

  835. you're a Believer and you're doing that, your conscience is

  836. killing you. You don't want to do that but

  837. you find yourself sliding into those things and it may be that

  838. you even need a level of Deliverance but we need to deal

  839. with those underlying issues so that we're not so susceptible

  840. emotional woundedness leaves us vulnerable to the enemy.

  841. It's like a boxer in a ring when you can have one boxer that's

  842. stronger. He's more skilled as a boxer but

  843. he may, he may be soft. He cuts easy.

  844. And that will end the guy's career because the other boxer

  845. who may not be a skill, that may not be as strong understands if

  846. I can cut him. I will keep hitting that that

  847. cut until they'll call the fight because his cut will open up.

  848. Some people are better at absorbing Cuts than others.

  849. And the fact is the enemy will try to cut you early in life and

  850. keep pounding on that, wound to cause you to bleed and take you

  851. out of the fight and we want to deal with that.

  852. And so if you know that's you, we want to pray for you.

  853. I'm going to ask the the prayer team to come forward right now

  854. and just come across the front. If you know, and I've got I've

  855. got some things I need to deal with that.

  856. That I know what makes me vulnerable.

  857. It keeps me on the edge of Temptation woundedness, keeps

  858. you on the edge of Tatian. It's not an excuse but I'm

  859. telling you, God has compassion, and he wants to touch you in

  860. that area, and it may be that you have an open door that

  861. you've been involved in some things in the past that has

  862. opened the door to the Demonic and God wants to deal with that.

  863. And we're going to get more into this in the days to come.

  864. But if you're already aware man, I've got some, I've got some

  865. things that there's some demonic things, and what we're going to

  866. do is just interview them and ask them the key.

  867. Questions about demonic open doors.

  868. If you know that you've got something, we're going to invite

  869. you to come forward. You're all looking at me like

  870. wow. Is that it?
