  1. Hi, this is Dave Olson. I'm the senior leader of

  2. Heartland Church located in Ankeny, IA.

  3. I hope the following message challenges, encourages and

  4. ultimately changes you. Thanks for joining us.

  5. So we have Chris Berglund with us this weekend, and I know I've

  6. been talking about Chris for a number of months, telling you

  7. that I invited him. I met Chris through Dean Briggs.

  8. We were together down in Burlington and then we did a

  9. conference together over in Omaha and I just fell in love

  10. with him. I'd heard of Chris for many,

  11. many years. I've heard Lou Engel.

  12. We've hosted Lou several times and he always talks about this,

  13. his personal profit, his dreamer.

  14. And and so it was Chris and they've been connected for many

  15. years. Chris made a comment yesterday

  16. that I think is worth repeating. He, he as he was teaching, he

  17. was talking about how he and Lou were just doing AQ and a time

  18. recently and Lou was talking about how, you know, this, this

  19. tremendous dreamer that's sitting next to him that he's

  20. had in his life. And, and Lou is kind of

  21. leveraged that in his life. And, and Chris stopped him and,

  22. and, and said, you know, you need to understand something.

  23. Chris that or Lou, I didn't. I didn't dream like I do until I

  24. connected with you. And he, he put it this way, he

  25. said my dreams had no missional value until I connected with

  26. you. And all of a sudden there was a

  27. purpose behind those dreams. I'm sure that other people had

  28. been blessed previously, but it's a lesson in this that when

  29. we find the tribe and the people were to run with, all of a

  30. sudden our gifts are heightened. There's there's they come

  31. online, so to speak. It's like they're they're

  32. heightened. And and our mission, Our

  33. Calling, our assignment in life is connected to those around us.

  34. And so there's no way for us to enter into what God has for us

  35. without one another. We've talked about this before,

  36. but fusions is very clear. The fullness of God is in the

  37. body. Ephesians chapter one last two

  38. verses. He hath put everything under

  39. Christ's feet. Comma for the church, comma the

  40. fullness of him. You have a piece, I have a

  41. piece. But when none of us will ever

  42. have the fullness and in fact, God will withhold from you what

  43. you need in your quiet time so that you'll get it through

  44. fellowship and community. There are things that you need

  45. you will never get with just you and Jesus because he designed it

  46. that way. It's going to be the Jesus and

  47. someone else that's going to meet your need.

  48. And as we were talking about the, I've never seen it this

  49. way, but it's like a puzzle piece, you know, it's like the

  50. puzzle. A puzzle has a picture on it.

  51. That's one of the ways, you know, But then the pieces fit

  52. together. There's a void in one that the

  53. other fills, and as they click together, all of a sudden you

  54. get a greater picture. And every one of us are a piece

  55. of the puzzle, but we need the one sitting next to us.

  56. And often God will hide the very thing you need and the person

  57. that irritates you the most. Now, that'll be for another

  58. Sunday morning. We'll talk about that.

  59. But anyway, I've just really grown to appreciate Chris and he

  60. and he, he runs with a group of intercessors, prophetic

  61. intercessors for a number of years.

  62. It's fascinating the way they do it.

  63. We've learned a lot from them from afar on how they steward

  64. the word of the Lord and pray that.

  65. And so it's just a pleasure to have Chris.

  66. Chris, come on. Let's give Chris Berglund a good

  67. heartland welcome. Yeah.

  68. Love you, man, Bless you. Love you.

  69. Yeah, I think, I think Dave is right.

  70. I don't think there was really any value to anybody else

  71. besides me and my dream life before Lou because I wasn't

  72. giving anybody. I think that my dream life was

  73. encouraging to me and the Lord would speak to me.

  74. But when we connected covenantally is when that

  75. missional covenantal heart and we made a we had the language of

  76. Jonathan and David. I want to say that with Lou, and

  77. this was 40 years ago, you know what Jonathan did with David,

  78. right? He gave him his cloak.

  79. Basically, Jonathan is in is the Prince and he's in line to the

  80. throne and he's, he's clothing David and said, it's OK if

  81. you're the one in line to the throne, which he was, right?

  82. He's giving him his his identity.

  83. And there's something that happens in covenantal

  84. relationships where Luke gave me his identity, his calling for

  85. the nations. And so I wore that.

  86. I wear that. And then my dream had missional

  87. value to it. I share that because it really

  88. didn't have. I don't remember my dreams

  89. affecting anyone else besides me until we made covenant together.

  90. I do remember one of the first I shared I think yesterday

  91. dreaming is easy. You just go to sleep right?

  92. And you there's nothing to brag about.

  93. It's like maybe it's worse than bragging because you God can't

  94. speak to you in the daytime. He puts you to sleep right.

  95. So you're so dull on the put you to sleep and but there is a

  96. preparation I and I don't want to negate the preparation the

  97. Lord showed me early on. You know, this is how you know

  98. there's always levels of interpretation right of

  99. Scripture. And I remember the Lord speaking

  100. to me and don't let the sun go down on your wrath.

  101. And he was speaking to me in the context, Chris, because if you

  102. have wrath, if you go down, let the sun go down your wrath, you

  103. will not dream, you will not have the pure dream life because

  104. you're hindering the flow of the spirit at night.

  105. And then he would encourage me. I know for for our team, we go

  106. on assignments and we may spend 2 weeks or 4 weeks or or

  107. whatever, praying, fasting, breaking fast, starting again

  108. during the fast. But I there won't those nights.

  109. The preparation is making sure there's no offense in the heart.

  110. I'm making sure I'm praying in the spirit.

  111. I want to enter into the most holy faith, right?

  112. I want to go into the, the the place with the Lord without

  113. there. All's I'm saying is no matter

  114. what the gifting and calling is on our life, there is a there is

  115. a surrender that allows that gifting to flow.

  116. So I don't want to minimize the consecration because the

  117. consecration in the Kingdom with one another.

  118. And that's why it was such a joy to meet to covenant with Lou,

  119. because you don't always find a man that's so consecrated that's

  120. night and day. He's just thinking about Jesus

  121. and revival, right? It's just he wakes up in the

  122. morning, goes to sleep at night. He's burning.

  123. He's burning with the Lord's heart for the nations and, and

  124. so there is a great cost in the, in the, you know, I, this is

  125. kind of funny, but we, we had taken 70 young people from the

  126. Trail of Tears. The Lord, we had a dream and in

  127. the dream, the Lord told us that we had to wear the shoes of the

  128. Native Americans to overcome abortion in the land because of

  129. what, what we found out was that the first abortions in the land

  130. were the some of the white men ripping open the wombs of the

  131. Native Americans in the war, in the battles and stuff.

  132. Some of the first, I'm not saying it was necessarily the

  133. first, but it was. So we took these 70 young

  134. people. We were going to walk the Trail

  135. of Tears from Charlotte area to Oklahoma and oh, so we're in the

  136. middle of this long fast, Lou. Lou thought it'd be a good idea

  137. to start with a 40 day fast. So we're on this 40 day fast and

  138. he didn't feel like we were doing that well.

  139. So somebody has a dream. We're supposed to do an Ester

  140. fast. I'm like, you got to be kidding.

  141. We're on a 40 day water fast. Now you want us to go 3 days

  142. with no food? I remember we were young.

  143. I remember telling one of the young people, he said, can we

  144. brush our teeth? I said, no, you can't.

  145. You can't use toothpaste and you can't, you know, and don't sit

  146. in the shower and open your mouth.

  147. It was totally, really legalistic.

  148. It was not God. And yeah, got some of those

  149. stories. I pastored.

  150. I shouldn't have been pastoring. I'm not a pastor, but I helped

  151. the Korean church and they asked us to come and help them walk

  152. through some difficulties for three months and it ended up to

  153. be 3 1/2 years. And I remember calling a fast

  154. and one of the young Korean girls called me and said, can I

  155. do this this certain fast? I said no problem, you'll you'll

  156. be fine. I think I don't know what it

  157. was, but I get a call the next day.

  158. She's in the emergency room. I'm like, OK, well you didn't

  159. tell me you had these different issues.

  160. Anyway, so a guy prophesied to me and said I'd be a pastor and

  161. I knew he was missing it. I thought there is no way.

  162. And then I got tricked. Jehovah, Sneaky, whatever his

  163. name is, my wife's the pastor. My one of the Koreans came to my

  164. wife and said we really feel like since Chris's pastor that

  165. he should stand at the door and greet people.

  166. My wife goes, if you want a greeter, you're going to have to

  167. do it yourself. My husband's not going to sit at

  168. the door anyway. Sorry.

  169. That's what happens when you're an introvert.

  170. You're like, that's your greatest fear, right?

  171. Your greatest fear is being in church.

  172. And the pastor gets up and says, let's break into groups and

  173. pray. No, I don't mind so much

  174. anymore. But a couple weeks ago, I was at

  175. the church, a small church with 50 people and Leah that was

  176. pastoring. And she's so like, everyone

  177. break up with somebody you love and what?

  178. Take communion. And I just did.

  179. I didn't move. I was sitting alone.

  180. And she comes over and says, Chris, I said break, move

  181. somebody love. And I said, I am anyway, So the

  182. introverts in here will understand.

  183. But it's been fun to be with you.

  184. I, I want to share a couple dreams just for fun and, and

  185. because in the dreams we can learn things.

  186. And Lou, Lou called me a couple weeks ago and said, Chris, it

  187. was on a Tuesday, said on Wednesday, he's leaving for

  188. Manchester, England. He said, will you see if the

  189. Lord gives you any dream? And of course that's I just pray

  190. and ask the Lord for Lou. And because of that covenantal

  191. unity, I, I start getting things for him in in the dreams.

  192. And that night I had an interesting dream.

  193. Manchester United was in a soccer match with Arab Emirates,

  194. Arab United Emirates in the soccer match that it was tied 11

  195. to 11 in my dream. And the first team to get 12 and

  196. sudden death would win. And at 1111, Manchester United

  197. goes to the sideline and I'm I'm over there listening to them and

  198. they're saying we should have paid the price for these certain

  199. players. And the the overtime lasted.

  200. It seemed like a couple hours in the dream.

  201. It was like one of those extended listening to them.

  202. We should have paid her the price for this.

  203. We should have got this, this player named Johnson.

  204. And in some of my dreams, Johnson becomes a a continued

  205. theme with either the sons of John the beloved or sons of John

  206. the Baptist has some meaning to them more than more than just

  207. the literal name. So I share the dream with Lou.

  208. I said, well, Lou, here's what I got last night.

  209. And so he's, he's going to Manchester.

  210. It was, well, he, he was on his way on Wednesday of that week,

  211. couple weeks ago. So he goes and he, because we've

  212. been together for 40 years, he's just come to the point of, you

  213. know, Chris, I, I know you, I know I trust your dreams.

  214. I'm going to just share the dream and we'll see what

  215. happens. So he said, here's the dream

  216. from my friend. It was 11 to 11.

  217. It was sudden death. And we believe it has to do with

  218. England. We believe Manchester has a, a

  219. price to pay or, you know, right now, if you've hear a lot of

  220. people are saying England is, doesn't have a chance, right?

  221. They're just, they're, they've lost their culture to, to

  222. invading cultures, culture war. And I'm not saying I'm not

  223. pointing out to flesh and blood. I'm I'm saying spiritually there

  224. there's, you know, you're hearing where there's teenage

  225. girls getting raped in the middle of the day because

  226. there's a culture that is controlled by these unseen

  227. entities that that have no value for women, right.

  228. And so it's like that's but it now they're in a different

  229. country and it's turning the country upside down.

  230. So anyways, they Lou shares this dream and the leaders are like,

  231. OK, we really need to pray and pay the make sure we have paid

  232. the price for our country. So it was a level of sobriety in

  233. the dream that was on a Wednesday or Thursday.

  234. And now on the next Wednesday, he's back and he he felt led to

  235. go to Manchester, NH and on a Wednesday.

  236. So that Wednesday there's actually a soccer match between

  237. United, Manchester, Manchester United.

  238. They're not playing United Arab Emirates, they're playing

  239. Grimsby soccer club. It was a, a cup, a cup match,

  240. meaning they had to win and to proceed and and Grimsby was

  241. level 4. Not I don't, I don't pretend to

  242. understand a whole lot about soccer.

  243. I play a little bit for fun, but never on a team.

  244. And Grimsby didn't have a chance.

  245. They were level 4 United, Manchester United, top level,

  246. top tier level. Well, on that Wednesday, they're

  247. in this cup final. It's 11 to 11 and the first one

  248. to 12 in sudden death wins. Grimsby ends up beating

  249. Manchester United in this cup final a week after the dream.

  250. And I'm asking the Lord. I said, Lord, you really were

  251. clear with the dream, but not. So why did I miss the Why did I

  252. miss the different teams? He said, this is what I felt,

  253. Chris, you didn't miss the teams there.

  254. What? There's a culture coming from a

  255. certain, you know, spiritual realm, but there's a grim report

  256. that is going to cost England their country if they side with

  257. the 10 spies that have a bad report.

  258. I feel like the feel like the and So what happens is when this

  259. soccer match actually happened a week later on their own, this

  260. group, this conference calls a 40 day fast to really fight for.

  261. And I'm not telling you is the 40 day fast is the answer.

  262. They would just said we need to pay the price, whatever it is

  263. for our country. This and I want to I wanted to

  264. share that because the spirit realm there has to nothing

  265. happened. Very little happens in heaven.

  266. I'm not going to say nothing, but God is always looking for

  267. our agreement on the earth. There has to be an agreement

  268. with him before there's a move on on the earth because he's

  269. made us coin Co reigning with him right in Christ.

  270. And so it's very sobering to me to to say I I want to make sure

  271. that my the words out of my mouth says England doesn't have

  272. a chance. You know the they're being taken

  273. over. America does is to is too too

  274. late for revival. It's trying to spit like loo

  275. sorry. Anyway, let me do this.

  276. Let me transition a little bit here.

  277. Well, let me, let me encourage you because I last night, last

  278. night and the night before, I want to put two dreams together,

  279. 2 partial dreams that what I've had and I believe, I believe for

  280. you guys in the first night, part of the dream was there's

  281. going to be a wealth transfer. But it wasn't talking about

  282. money. It was talking about people, the

  283. wealth, the treasure. We are the treasure.

  284. There's we have, there's a clay pot with a treasure inside.

  285. We are that treasure, right? There's a transfer of wealth

  286. that's coming. And I saw it in my dream where

  287. large churches would be emptied out and churches that had the

  288. life of Christ would be filled with those treasured vessels.

  289. There's a shifting that's taking place.

  290. And then this last night I saw on the door, but it couldn't be

  291. seen in the natural, but on the door there was the there were 12

  292. Stones of the high priest governmental, the the 12.

  293. And it was on the eastern door. And so when I got here this

  294. morning, Dave brought me to the office and I'm like, yeah, this

  295. is the eastern door because I could see the sun coming up.

  296. It's the eastern door, the entrance that you use.

  297. And the Lord started giving me revelation, the dream which will

  298. happen sometimes where I started seeing Ezekiel 28.

  299. And if you know the passage, it's where Satan is.

  300. He's this covering cherub. He has a priestly role in

  301. heaven. He's got it says he won't.

  302. He walks among the 9 stones, which is very fascinating

  303. because those every one of those 9 stones is on the breastplate

  304. of the 12 Stones of the high priest, but he's missing 3.

  305. And I felt this is what I was feeling from the Lord in the

  306. dream. I was feeling like I, I knew

  307. something that I didn't know before, but I knew that he

  308. didn't have the three stones needed to steward the, the, the

  309. priest, the priestly mediation of mankind.

  310. He, he was missing those 3 stones.

  311. And how did I know that? Because as I was thinking about

  312. this, I started seeing Abraham looking up at the stars of the

  313. sky. And I realized, oh, because

  314. Ezekiel 28 says he is these, he, he would rise, his heart was to

  315. rise above the stars. That's what he want.

  316. That's what's part of his falling was he wanted to be

  317. above the stars. He wanted to rule mankind, but

  318. he was never given that authority to rule mankind.

  319. Anyway. So I, I, I feel in the, I felt

  320. in the dream. And what I saw was as I was

  321. moving in the dream in the city, I could see some of the churches

  322. having the 12 Stones, but some of the churches had 9 stones

  323. that were artificial stones. And I knew, I knew in the dream

  324. that those churches would be empty.

  325. There'd be a season where the, the, the cost is too great for

  326. them to continue to open. The, the, the Lord would take

  327. away the lampstand in a sense, and there wouldn't be any reason

  328. to go there. But part of that costly high

  329. priestly anointing is that we would see Christ in every

  330. person, every broken person. My my wife works with a broken

  331. with a horse ministry with young people, teens and 20 year olds

  332. that someday they'll come with a blue wristband and they'll

  333. identify as a blue as a as a boy, they'll might wear a pink 1

  334. though I being identified that day as a as a girl.

  335. She loves she loves being in the midst of this generation of

  336. broken men and women are identity issues they and she can

  337. only talk to him about Jesus if they initiate part of the

  338. structure of the of the work environment.

  339. But she was telling me a couple weeks ago.

  340. She said someone's this one person that she's been praying

  341. for. She said she came to me and she

  342. said if all Christians were like you, I'd become a Christian.

  343. I'm like that's awesome. Keep loving those you know, they

  344. don't have we're not pointing the finger.

  345. We're saying they're broke and they need Jesus, you know,

  346. right. We've got a generation and like

  347. Dave is saying, we're not pointing the finger.

  348. They're acting according to their nature, you know, but you

  349. we all have received a new creation life in us.

  350. We should be different. They haven't received that life.

  351. They're going to be according to Adam, right the things in their

  352. heart and so and I, I mentioned what.

  353. Dan Moeller said, I, I, I like this, this comes to me every

  354. once in a while. I don't, haven't listened to Dan

  355. for a few years, but I really loved him.

  356. I really love his heart. And he said something.

  357. He said we should never as believers, we should never be

  358. hurt by anybody. Because if somebody hurts us

  359. with their words, he said, they're, they simply don't know

  360. who they are and they don't know who we are.

  361. So we should be hurt for them. So they should never hurt us.

  362. But if they hurt us with if they attempt to hurt us with their

  363. words, it should simply hurt us. They simply don't know who they

  364. are. They're just coming against

  365. this. Anyway.

  366. I, I thought that that's so profound.

  367. It's so simple and yet so profound the, the, the life of

  368. Christ that goes after, after all the the lost, right.

  369. Anyway, so I want to read a couple passages.

  370. I think there's one in Malachi. The first chapter in Malachi.

  371. It says, It says I have loved you, says the Lord.

  372. Yet you say, In what way have you loved us?

  373. Was not Esau Jacob's brother, says the Lord.

  374. Yet Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.

  375. I laid waste his mountains and his heritage for the jackals of

  376. the wilderness. Even though Edom has said we

  377. have been impoverished, but we will return and build the

  378. desolate places. Thus says the Lord, They may

  379. build, but I will throw it down. They may be called the territory

  380. of wickedness, and the people against whom the Lord will have

  381. indignation forever. When you read these Scriptures

  382. and throughout the Old Testament, Edom is an increase

  383. of Esau, just like Jacob, just like Israel's an increase of

  384. Jacob, right? It's that when he's talking

  385. about Esau, he's saying Esau. I hated because Esau despised

  386. the seed of Christ, the birthright, his inheritance.

  387. He he sold it for a bowl of soup.

  388. He said I don't need the seed of Christ.

  389. Basically what he's saying is I will have war forever with the

  390. with Adam. There is no I hate Adam.

  391. There's nothing good in Adam. When when when man sinned and

  392. and and the life of Christ left, it says the whole world was full

  393. of wickedness and violence. None there was none that were

  394. seek that there was nothing. Everybody's heart was intense of

  395. their heart were evil continually.

  396. Genesis 6 and if if you weren't in a position to say I need the

  397. seed, if you despise the seed, God is saying, I hate that.

  398. I hate that everyone from the lineage of Esau, from the

  399. lineage of Edom. He's not saying he's not saying

  400. he's looking at a person hating the person.

  401. He's hating the life that they're agreeing to because he

  402. died to save them from that Adam life.

  403. He actually buried all of us into Adam.

  404. Isn't that amazing? All of Christ in Romans and

  405. Corinthians, all of all of all of Adam died in Christ and was

  406. buried. We talked about this yesterday a

  407. little bit. The the crucifixion and the

  408. burial of Adam is universal, but the resurrection is by faith

  409. alone. All of Adam has has died, but

  410. the resurrection is by faith. There's there's got to be a

  411. faith in this seed. And I want to, I want to talk

  412. about this because this is a hard saying, but there the only

  413. thing Christ is looking for is an increase of of himself.

  414. The only thing the Father's looking for is an increase of

  415. the life of Christ in us. All of our good ideas are are

  416. Esau. It's our own imagination.

  417. It's our own good. He hates that.

  418. He hates that those things, they, they have nothing to do

  419. with him. They're of a different

  420. everything that's not coming flowing from him is something

  421. that he doesn't he doesn't long for, he doesn't want, he hates.

  422. It is a hard saying, isn't it? It's like we're talking about

  423. this everything when when God made Adam, it says he's a

  424. picture. Adam is a picture of Christ.

  425. Eve is a picture of the church, Ephesians and Romans.

  426. When God made Adam and he wanted to, it was good that it was not

  427. good that she should be alone. So he made Eve.

  428. What did he do? He took life from Adam and he

  429. made Eve with that life. Christ took his life.

  430. He made a bride and then he gave that bride back to Christ to see

  431. see what he's doing. The very life that he gives us,

  432. he receives back from us. That's what he's looking for.

  433. He's always looking for an increase of his own life.

  434. And so we were talking kind of go quickly through a couple of

  435. passages, but all of the Old Testament is a shadow of Christ

  436. in some way or another, good or bad.

  437. We talked about leprosy. We talked about Leviticus like

  438. 14 or 15. It says if I spit on somebody,

  439. that person becomes unclean. That's kind of weird.

  440. They they got to go through a cleansing ritual, go outside the

  441. camp. Why?

  442. Because everything that comes from the flesh is defiling.

  443. It's just a picture of the body. It's a picture of Christ's body,

  444. the church. And he's saying there's boundary

  445. line. So every every law that was

  446. given in Scripture is simply a boundary line of the life of and

  447. nature of Christ. What are the wars?

  448. The wars are simply the victories of Christ.

  449. The the sacrifices are fragrance and, and the death of Christ.

  450. They're all pointing in a weak way.

  451. They're pointing to the substance which is Christ.

  452. And so in the Old Testament, the first three times Israel is

  453. used. It's very significant when Jacob

  454. goes with his staff to go find a bride, he he goes into a hostile

  455. territory. He leaves the House of God.

  456. The Bethel goes into a hostile territory.

  457. He claims a wife. He he laborers there for 20

  458. years and guess what? When he leaves, guess what is

  459. with him? There's a bride, there's flocks

  460. and there's sons. It's a picture of Christ coming

  461. and having an increase. See see this the scripture.

  462. There's a couple really clear points in scripture that God,

  463. his love comes down. His love is defined in John, but

  464. he's giving all things I because I love you, I'm giving you all

  465. understanding, all knowledge, because I love you, I'm giving

  466. you all things. Well, that's what love is.

  467. It's giving fully of himself and glory is the increase of that,

  468. the nature, it's the increase of what he's looking for.

  469. He's he's looking for an increase of what he's given.

  470. He's not looking for more than Christ in us.

  471. He's looking for Christ in us. And so when Jacob is wrestling

  472. with God, he's wrestling with Laban, with man, but then he

  473. wrestles with God and you know, he touches his hips and

  474. dislocates it. But he's God says because you've

  475. prevailed, I'm changing your name to Israel.

  476. He's changing his name because that's he's he's he's shadowing

  477. the body of Christ, the church. It's it's a one new man.

  478. It's it's Exodus 422. Go tell Pharaoh that Israel is

  479. my son, not my sons and my daughters, my son, my first

  480. born. It's a picture of Christ.

  481. It's a picture of increase. So in Scripture, when a Jacob is

  482. coming out with this increase, it's Speaking of the church.

  483. The church is the resurrected body of Christ.

  484. If he now you got to understand this because otherwise it sounds

  485. weird. It's like, what are you saying?

  486. We're God? No, not at all.

  487. The church. See, we do.

  488. If you know, most of the time, if I would say who is the

  489. church, we would define it. You can't define it because he

  490. defines it. He defines it by his life.

  491. So the measure of Christ's life in this room is the measure of

  492. the church in this room, right? We can say we're the body of

  493. Christ, but we're only the body of Christ as the life of the Son

  494. lives through us. There's part of us that is not

  495. the life of Christ. And that's the that's the part

  496. of us that we continually surrender to.

  497. It's the mind that hasn't been renewed.

  498. It's the thoughts that aren't his thoughts.

  499. It's not the body of Christ. He when he resurrected from the

  500. dead, isn't it interesting? Nobody that knew him now

  501. recognized him. The road to Emmaus, They didn't

  502. recognize him. Mary thought, this is the

  503. gardener. Peter and James didn't recognize

  504. him until they said, cast it over and catch the 153, whatever

  505. the fish or whatever. Nobody recognized him because he

  506. came in a different form, Same life, different form.

  507. He says to Mary, Don't cling to me.

  508. I don't want to be known like I was known for the last three

  509. years. I want to be known differently.

  510. And so he's, he's appearing and disappearing and he's coming and

  511. going. He doesn't want anyone clinging

  512. to him because he wants people to find him in the body.

  513. He's the head now. Guess what?

  514. We're the body of Christ. He wanted people to see.

  515. Look, the the life is the same, but the form is different.

  516. It's an increase. What is the greater works?

  517. It's not a greater life, it's just a greater number.

  518. It's a greater increase of the very life of Christ.

  519. So when Christ heals through us, he's the one healing.

  520. It's not my power to heal. I'm just the like we always say,

  521. unless we were misunderstood, the vine, the branch doesn't

  522. become the vine. We don't become God.

  523. The vine simply gets a clean vessel, a conduit to go through

  524. his life, to go through, to flow through.

  525. Isn't it amazing? In Isaiah 60, it says that

  526. there's a time coming when all the nations will come and bow

  527. down at our feet. That is, that's crazy.

  528. What does that mean? That means God is purified, A

  529. remnant that no longer that it's just they just see Christ.

  530. They don't even see us. It's like they don't see us.

  531. They see him and they come down to worship him in US and God's

  532. not, not, not only not offended. This is where his heart

  533. rejoices. Finally, the my body is my body

  534. and he he has no problem casting Thrones down because it's his

  535. life, right, You know what I'm saying?

  536. I mean, giving us Thrones and we casting them back, however, over

  537. you know, it's kind of silly to think I'm wearing anybody going

  538. to be comfortable wearing a crown?

  539. I'm it's not, it's not a physical crown.

  540. I'm like, I'm not wearing this for all of eternity.

  541. This is stupid anyway it it's just AI think it's just a

  542. recognition in the spirit realm that this person laid his life

  543. down. This person yielded to the very

  544. life of Christ. There was an increase.

  545. I love the story and we've told it several times this weekend.

  546. But when Joseph before Joseph has a prophetic word that his

  547. people are going to go into Egypt into exile and he says to

  548. them, just remember this, don't leave my bones in Egypt.

  549. Interesting. Don't make sure they they come

  550. out of Egypt. So what happens 400 years later,

  551. Moses is called to deliver the Israelites from Egypt and in the

  552. front of in the front of the procession, they've got the

  553. they're carrying the bones of of Joseph.

  554. What's the picture? The picture is Joseph, a type of

  555. Christ now has an increase of Christ, right?

  556. It's that's a picture. It's a shadow, not perfect at

  557. all. It's just a shadow, but

  558. everything in Scripture is a shadow.

  559. Jesus is the door. Jesus is the cloud that led him

  560. out of the promised land. Jesus is the promised land.

  561. Jesus is the manna from heaven. He's the bread that he.

  562. You know, it's like you can't you go to Joseph And isn't it

  563. interesting when I, when the Lord started revealing the, the

  564. communion revival, I started seeing communion all over us.

  565. I was like, wow, the Baker, the Baker dies, but the, the wine,

  566. the one that serves wine to the king lives forever.

  567. I'm like, come on, That's an awesome, that's an awesome

  568. picture. The, the blood anyway, And

  569. Gideon, what's Gideon doing? He's baking bread in a wine

  570. press. And then the big, big barley

  571. loaf rolls down and and demolishes the Midianite.

  572. Was it Midianites and anyway, just the the the whole of

  573. scripture, if we understand the whole of scripture is pointing

  574. for his original design, which was to have a a priestly bride,

  575. right. We were talking to praying for

  576. Roger and his wife earlier. There's a word in the in

  577. Genesis. It says tendon keep the garden

  578. and then take dominion on the earth.

  579. Tendon keep is only used one other time together in numbers.

  580. I think it's chapter 3 and it's in regard to the priesthood.

  581. Jesus. God's original intention with

  582. man was to have a priest king in the garden and to rule.

  583. It was a temple. It was facing east.

  584. Eden was facing east. It was the IT was had cherubims

  585. in there. What's the temple facing east,

  586. the cherubim in the holy of holies.

  587. It was just this is the Garden of Eden.

  588. It's a it's a temple on the earth and you are the

  589. gatekeepers. That word in tendon keep the

  590. word keep means to guard. I don't know if this is exactly,

  591. I think it's true, but you know, Eve was deceived, but Adam was

  592. told to guard, guard the garden. Why did he let the snake talk to

  593. his his wife? You know, there's, there's I

  594. think, I think the judgement came on him because he was to

  595. guard and keep he was to make sure there was nothing happening

  596. in that garden that wasn't supposed to happen.

  597. And we're and we're, we're priests and kings.

  598. And this is this is what we do. We guard, we, we guard our

  599. hearts. You know, I had a dream a couple

  600. years ago. In the dream it was I was

  601. reading about Solomon who was having a dream in, in kings.

  602. And it says, you know, in the dream the Lord asked him for

  603. any, asked me for anything. And in the dream Solomon

  604. responds and says, I want wisdom.

  605. But what the Lord highlighted to me in the dream was not wisdom,

  606. but govern. He said, I want wisdom to

  607. govern. I'm like, OK, you're he asked

  608. for something more than wisdom. He wanted to be at that ecclesia

  609. that that priest, that king priest, right.

  610. He he's like there was something that moved God's heart said you

  611. have asked a good thing. You've asked something that I

  612. wanted Adam and Eve to walk in and you want to restore that

  613. governing wisdom. The problem with Solomon is he

  614. could govern the people, but never governed his own heart,

  615. right? He was a failure.

  616. But in in in that sense. But isn't it, isn't it powerful

  617. that God, God showed him something in a dream?

  618. And sometimes we just dismiss dreams.

  619. The Midianites with Gideon, they get a dream about this.

  620. Barley. Was it?

  621. Yeah. Barley loaf rolling down and and

  622. destroying them. They said this is none other

  623. than the sword of Gideon. And they were afraid.

  624. Gideon hears it outside their tent.

  625. And that was all he needed to hear.

  626. To gird his loins up and go to battle was like, what a culture.

  627. What a culture where Joseph's brothers hear a dream and want

  628. to kill him. They could have said, that's

  629. just a pizza, a barley dream pizza dream.

  630. But they're like, no, we're going to kill you because we

  631. believe in dreams. The Midianites said, gosh,

  632. Gideon's going to destroy us. I had a dream.

  633. They weren't even believers. But but culturally, we we just

  634. got to be careful not to dismiss the and I'm not saying just

  635. dreams. There's still small voice the,

  636. the, the obviously the written word, like when God lays a hold

  637. of that written word and you just know that, you know, this

  638. is, this is the message for right now.

  639. It just burns in your heart, right.

  640. And I think, I think covenantally, I can say this

  641. beyond a shadow of a doubt. If I wouldn't have covenanted

  642. with Lou, I would have missed 40 years of dreaming.

  643. I, I wouldn't have taken him seriously like this.

  644. It was a cool dream. Maybe I should have bet some

  645. money on that. I just saw this fight and

  646. Muhammad Ali. Those are one of the first

  647. dreams I had. Muhammad Ali loses at the end.

  648. And I told my people in my college, I said, hey, I saw the

  649. fight in my dream last night. I should have bet on it, right?

  650. No, God was just saying, Chris, I want you to know you can hear

  651. my voice. You can hear my voice and I'll

  652. speak to you if you're willing to hear and not just say it's

  653. just a pizza dream or whatever. And, and our, our dreams do get

  654. cleaned up. Sometimes it's just a piece of a

  655. dream that's like right from heaven.

  656. And then some of it's mixture that you know what, what,

  657. whatever reason that we're mixture in our hearts.

  658. And as we, as we are saying, yes, yes to more surrender, we

  659. hear clearly, just like we hear the understand the word too.

  660. So the the surrender to this increase of Christ and.

  661. It's all it's all about Jesus, right?

  662. Everything is about Jesus living his life through US, Christ in

  663. us, the hope of glory. We have nothing apart from his

  664. life. But if we have his life, we have

  665. everything. There needs to be a confidence

  666. in US. You know, I don't have the word.

  667. I don't necessarily know what to do, but he's in me and he can

  668. speak freely through me if we allow him to right?

  669. He can live through us. So there, you know, one of the I

  670. know I need to end, but in 1997 I was just leaving this my wife

  671. and I were just leaving the Korean church that we were

  672. pastoring. And the Lord said, he said,

  673. Chris, you have a a life threatening disease in my dream

  674. and I'm like, gosh, am I going to die of cancer?

  675. What's going on? And in the dream, the Lord goes,

  676. it's comparison and it's going to kill you.

  677. And Paul said, don't compare yourselves among yourselves.

  678. You're not wise. We either land on one side or

  679. the other. I'll tell you where I landed.

  680. I always said that guy's a better teacher.

  681. That guy's a better prophet. That guy's a better everything.

  682. What am I doing? What am I doing?

  683. The Koreans talk about intercession, man.

  684. We had intercession meeting. I didn't even know if I was

  685. saved anymore. And you know, it's just like,

  686. these guys are awesome. And then the next dream I have,

  687. I don't know, maybe a month later, because I was struggling

  688. with this, like, OK, I, I compare myself to others and

  689. I'm, I'm not measuring up. Lord.

  690. And the next dream there was all those people that I had just

  691. labeled that were, why would I do this?

  692. Because they're so good at it. Just let them do it.

  693. They, they were in a dream with me.

  694. We're in the mountains of Colorado in this dream.

  695. And Billy Graham was going to come and be the guest, the guest

  696. at the mountain retreat. Well, he gets there and we're

  697. just about to sit down for dinner and he comes up to me and

  698. he says, Chris, I want to sit by you tonight.

  699. And I said, no, I'm an introvert.

  700. I don't talk that much. Go, go sit by so.

  701. And so he can talk all night, right?

  702. You know, and I know, you know, I want to sit by you.

  703. I said, OK. I said be boring, but OK.

  704. And then he said at night, he said, I want to sleep in your

  705. cabin. I'm like, no, again, really.

  706. You don't want to sleep in my cabin anyway.

  707. Just. And, and I realized, oh, I'm

  708. talking to the Lord. In my dream, Billy Graham was a

  709. representation of the Lord. That's all it was.

  710. It was just like the Lord was saying, no, Chris, I made you

  711. the way you are. I love your personality.

  712. He loves it would be boring if we were all the same, if even

  713. two of us were the same, right? We're all so very different.

  714. It's like we're we get to have a personality while we express the

  715. life of Christ. That's a beautiful thing.

  716. We don't have to lose our sense of humor.

  717. I mean, I think one of my colleagues is to make Lou laugh

  718. once a month, right? And I, I send them, you know,

  719. these, these memes that are right on the edge of not not

  720. being good to send. You know, he's like Chris.

  721. You have, he goes, Chris, you have a serious conscience.

  722. But I can't stop laughing. So I think for Lou and for

  723. heaven, that's my ministry. OK, He's trying hard, but he's

  724. anyway just saying, let me just let me just say this.

  725. I'll just share something and then I'll be done in in Matthew

  726. 15. You, you guys know the story

  727. when the woman comes to Jesus, that's a gentile and he says to

  728. her, he ignores her. I should read it, but Matthew

  729. 15/20/21 in there, he ignores her, didn't say anything to her.

  730. So he's ignoring this woman And you're, I remember reading this

  731. thinking she's just not, he's not a Jesus having a bad day.

  732. He's just ignoring some woman that's trying to get healed, her

  733. daughter healed or whatever. And then the next verse she, she

  734. presses in and says, you know, Jesus and the disciples are

  735. saying somebody send her away. Somebody get rid of this lady.

  736. And she's pressing in and, and Jesus says even the dogs will

  737. get, you know, the dogs will get the crumbs or something like

  738. that. Right now he ignores her.

  739. Now he calls her a dog and I'm thinking what?

  740. She's having a terrible day and I'm just joking.

  741. But it goes a little further. And then she lays hold of of him

  742. and she is healed and he says something great.

  743. I've not seen a great faith like this or some however that goes.

  744. You know what, I was meditating on this.

  745. I felt like the Lord said to me, he says, Chris, I knew from the

  746. first start of this she had great faith and she was going to

  747. persevere and I was going to ignore her.

  748. And I was going to say this, you know, the, the bread is for the

  749. dogs, the Gentiles. And she was going to press in

  750. and I was going to show the disciples what real faith was.

  751. That's when I felt like he said, this is what real faith looks

  752. like. It doesn't matter what it looks

  753. like. It doesn't matter if you're

  754. being, you feel like you're being ignored, but you're

  755. pressing and you're saying, no, I'm going to lay hold of this

  756. man, Jesus. Thanks for listening to our

  757. podcast. If you'd like to help more
