  1. Welcome to Ontario Community Church, where we are encouraging, equipping, and engaging lives for Christ.

  2. ! I'm Pastor Patrick Daly, and each week I share sermons that balance the grace and love of Jesus Christ with the truth of the Word of God.

  3. Together, we'll explore Scripture using observation, interpretation, and application.

  4. This helps us discover practical ways to live out our faith every single day.

  5. Let's dive in together into God's Word.

  6. Well, good morning, everyone.

  7. Happy Easter, everyone.

  8. He is risen, and we say?

  9. He is risen indeed. Amen. Hallelujah.

  10. This is a special time. It is the special Sunday where we celebrate Jesus' resurrection.

  11. That Jesus Christ conquered sin and death.

  12. That Jesus is victorious.

  13. And we know that in Scripture, or we should know, that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

  14. This is a special Sunday where we recognize that the Word of God is living and active,

  15. and the God that we worship and the God that we praise is powerful.

  16. He is divine. He is strong and mighty.

  17. And we can come to the Lord, no matter what it is we are going through,

  18. no matter what it is you have been through, what experience you are currently going through,

  19. the good, the bad, and even the ugly.

  20. God is always there for you.

  21. God keeps His promises.

  22. He fulfills His prophecy.

  23. Realizing and recognizing that Jesus Christ, just being born in that manger,

  24. performing the miracles, teaching in parables,

  25. walking on water, healing the sick and raising Lazarus from the dead,

  26. feeding the 5,000.

  27. Evil thought they could win.

  28. They thought that they could win over the Christ.

  29. And we know that Christ had His last supper,

  30. where He said,

  31. Do this in remembrance of me.

  32. And we know that in the Passion story,

  33. that He was nailed on a cross,

  34. and Jesus' final words saying,

  35. It is finished.

  36. Jesus dying,

  37. and then being laid in a tomb.

  38. Even Joseph of Arimathea was foretold,

  39. which is a wild thing.

  40. Him being,

  41. Christ being laid in the tomb.

  42. And we come to where we are at in Scripture.

  43. I had Kathy read today about the road to Emmaus,

  44. which is what is happening the same day

  45. on the day of resurrection.

  46. In Scripture, it says in Luke 24,

  47. the first day of the week, right?

  48. It was talking about the spices that were prepared.

  49. They were perplexed that they couldn't find Jesus' body, right?

  50. And that's where we find there were men that were saying,

  51. Why do you seek the living among the dead?

  52. That the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men

  53. and be crucified,

  54. and on the day,

  55. the third day rise.

  56. And they remembered His words,

  57. and returning to the tomb,

  58. they told all these things to the eleven and to the rest.

  59. We know about,

  60. or we should know about,

  61. this resurrection story,

  62. seeing that the tomb is empty,

  63. and that He is not here.

  64. Where is He?

  65. Well, we find that in the next passages

  66. that Jesus is walking alongside

  67. with two disciples.

  68. And that's very interesting in here.

  69. The same day as the resurrection, right?

  70. We know about the resurrection.

  71. The road to Emmaus.

  72. And this is before Christ returns to His disciples

  73. and at the end of the Gospel of Luke,

  74. where He ascends into heaven.

  75. And these two disciples,

  76. they're leaving Jerusalem.

  77. They are confused and they are grieving.

  78. Feel free to open your Bibles.

  79. Let's look at this, right?

  80. Where we were reading it.

  81. Two of them,

  82. there's some debate on who the two specific disciples were.

  83. They were going to a village named Emmaus, right?

  84. They were talking about all the things that had happened.

  85. They had clearly heard the message

  86. from the empty tomb.

  87. And it's interesting

  88. that Christ is walking alongside these two disciples.

  89. What is this conversation that you're having?

  90. I want to know what you're talking about.

  91. They stood still looking sad.

  92. They were confused.

  93. They were grieving.

  94. Well, they had heard that Christ had been risen.

  95. They might have not understood.

  96. They might have been sad not seeing the risen Christ.

  97. But they are grieving nonetheless.

  98. They heard the report of the empty tomb.

  99. But they hadn't seen Jesus themselves.

  100. In verse 18,

  101. then one of them named Cleopas, right?

  102. Are you not the only visitor

  103. who does not know the things

  104. that have happened these days?

  105. And yet Jesus decides to be

  106. a little bit humorous here.

  107. What things?

  108. What things?

  109. What are you talking about?

  110. Right?

  111. And they said to him,

  112. concerning Jesus of Nazareth, right?

  113. The prophet, mighty in deed and in word

  114. before God of all people.

  115. So they recognize who Jesus is.

  116. How our chief peace and rulers

  117. delivered him to be condemned.

  118. We had hoped that he was the one

  119. to redeem Israel.

  120. Besides all this,

  121. this is the third day.

  122. Some women for our company

  123. amazed us.

  124. They were at the tomb

  125. early in the morning, right?

  126. That's the earlier verses

  127. that we find in the Gospel of Luke.

  128. And they did,

  129. they didn't find his body.

  130. They came back saying

  131. they hadn't seen the visions

  132. or the angels that he was alive.

  133. And it's interesting,

  134. in verse 25,

  135. where Christ is saying,

  136. O foolish ones,

  137. slow of heart to believe

  138. all that the prophets had spoken.

  139. Many times in Scripture,

  140. Jesus was pointing out

  141. to the Pharisees

  142. and to his disciples

  143. how prophecy,

  144. how the Word,

  145. the Old Testament,

  146. as it were,

  147. would point to him.

  148. Now we get to look at it

  149. and we know exactly

  150. what's going on,

  151. but I can't imagine

  152. not seeing the Scriptures

  153. pointing to Christ.

  154. Verse 27,

  155. or we'll go in verse 26,

  156. was it not necessary

  157. that Christ should suffer

  158. these things

  159. and enter into his glory?

  160. Not only is Christ speaking about

  161. that he had to die,

  162. but that he had to rise again.

  163. So they drew to the village

  164. where they were going.

  165. In verse 28,

  166. he acted as if they were going further

  167. and they urged him strongly,

  168. Stay with us,

  169. for it is toward evening

  170. and the day is now spent.

  171. So they wanted Christ

  172. to stay with them.

  173. They went in.

  174. Verse 30,

  175. When he was at a table with them,

  176. he took bread and blessed it

  177. and broke it

  178. and gave it to them.

  179. What does it say then?

  180. Their eyes were opened.

  181. So they had conversations

  182. about prophecy,

  183. but it was when they were

  184. doing community, right?

  185. When they were breaking bread together,

  186. as it were,

  187. that their eyes were open.

  188. They recognized him.

  189. And then what happens?

  190. Is Jesus still there?

  191. What does the Scripture say, church?

  192. That he vanished.

  193. So once they understood,

  194. he vanished.

  195. And then it says,

  196. Did not our hurts burn within us

  197. while he talked to us on the road,

  198. while he opened the Scriptures?

  199. And they rose

  200. and they returned to Jerusalem.

  201. They found the eleven,

  202. saying,

  203. The Lord has risen indeed.

  204. He has appeared to Simon.

  205. They told what had happened

  206. on the road

  207. and how he was known to them

  208. in the breaking of the bread.

  209. So Jesus is calling them.

  210. He is walking alongside

  211. these two disciples.

  212. And it's kind of this bridge,

  213. this invitation,

  214. to walk alongside these two

  215. as they are journeying

  216. to understand more about God,

  217. more about who Christ is,

  218. and to do life together,

  219. as it were.

  220. And so they invite him to stay.

  221. They bread together

  222. and their eyes were opened.

  223. And it's in the reflection

  224. and seeing that there was a fire

  225. that was lit,

  226. how their hearts burned.

  227. And they returned to Jerusalem

  228. to share in the good news.

  229. What does all of this mean then?

  230. If we go to that next slide then,

  231. here at Ontario Community,

  232. we use what is known

  233. as the OIA method,

  234. observation, interpretation,

  235. and application.

  236. Observation meaning

  237. that Scripture is our source.

  238. We read it in its context

  239. and understand its connections.

  240. The interpretation is

  241. what can we learn because of this?

  242. And the application meaning

  243. what can we do because of this?

  244. So we can see, number one,

  245. that Jesus walks with the disappointed.

  246. It says in Scripture that

  247. these two were,

  248. they were disappointed, right?

  249. They were grieving as it were.

  250. And Jesus,

  251. despite the confusion and grief,

  252. He doesn't wait for them to be right.

  253. He doesn't wait for them to get over it.

  254. He meets them where they are at.

  255. And this is something

  256. not only can we see

  257. specifically for these two disciples,

  258. we can see how this happens for us.

  259. that no matter what it is

  260. you have been through,

  261. what situation or circumstance

  262. you may have gone through,

  263. you may be grieving right now

  264. in this room,

  265. you may have been going through

  266. some really intense experiences,

  267. but yet Christ will be there for you,

  268. waiting for you to journey with Him,

  269. to come alongside you.

  270. And He,

  271. we know in the Scripture

  272. that Christ

  273. walks with them

  274. before He reveals Himself

  275. to them.

  276. That is what's powerful

  277. about our faith,

  278. about our risen Christ,

  279. is knowing that

  280. He is there

  281. for us.

  282. Think about that.

  283. Think about

  284. moments where you have

  285. grieved

  286. or moments where you've been

  287. confused

  288. or moments in happiness

  289. or even in triumph.

  290. God is still there with you.

  291. In Psalm 34, 18,

  292. it says,

  293. The Lord is near

  294. to the brokenhearted.

  295. Isaiah 42, 3,

  296. a bruised reed

  297. He will not break.

  298. Or in Hebrews 13, 5,

  299. where it says,

  300. I will never leave you

  301. nor forsake you.

  302. It is for us to learn

  303. and for us to understand

  304. that the risen Christ

  305. will walk with people

  306. even when they don't recognize Him,

  307. giving time

  308. for them

  309. to recognize

  310. who He is.

  311. It becomes a bridge

  312. between sorrow

  313. and between joy,

  314. between not knowing

  315. who Jesus is

  316. and that moment

  317. where you understand

  318. this is Christ.

  319. Christ.

  320. The second one, then,

  321. is the Word

  322. and presence

  323. opens eyes.

  324. Now, I'm not talking

  325. about physical eyes.

  326. Although, if your eyes

  327. are closed,

  328. you should open them

  329. physically, right?

  330. If we're going to be

  331. literal here.

  332. But I'm talking

  333. about spiritual eyes.

  334. The Word.

  335. The Word of God.

  336. Because Jesus

  337. was sharing the Scriptures

  338. with these two disciples.

  339. Going over the Scriptures

  340. and how they pointed

  341. to Christ.

  342. that is why

  343. it is so important

  344. for us to be

  345. in the body of Christ.

  346. Going over

  347. what the Word of God

  348. means,

  349. what it says,

  350. how it applies

  351. to our lives.

  352. Because it can

  353. open our eyes

  354. to, number one,

  355. understand

  356. who Jesus Christ is.

  357. That He offers

  358. salvation.

  359. That whosoever believes

  360. shall not perish

  361. but have eternal life.

  362. And, of course,

  363. the presence of God

  364. can open eyes

  365. as well.

  366. For some of us,

  367. we may have felt

  368. the presence of God.

  369. How overwhelming,

  370. in a good way,

  371. it can be,

  372. feeling the presence

  373. of our Lord.

  374. And I don't know

  375. about you,

  376. but if my eyes are shut,

  377. I want to make sure

  378. they're open.

  379. So, it should be

  380. a lesson for us.

  381. Look, their hearts

  382. burned

  383. as Jesus taught

  384. the Scriptures.

  385. Because,

  386. we know that this Bible

  387. is living

  388. and it is active.

  389. And it should

  390. transform us

  391. when we think

  392. of the word

  393. repentance.

  394. How many of you

  395. have heard

  396. to repent

  397. or repentance?

  398. You don't have to

  399. raise your hand.

  400. Metanoia,

  401. which means

  402. to change your mind.

  403. Not only does it mean

  404. to change your mind

  405. about who Jesus Christ is,

  406. but it is to continue

  407. to change your mind

  408. to live

  409. and love

  410. to be molded

  411. like Jesus.

  412. Does that make sense,

  413. church?

  414. Their eyes

  415. were opened

  416. in relationship,

  417. though.

  418. It's much like

  419. how Scripture says

  420. that we are to

  421. hear the word

  422. and do what it says

  423. or,

  424. some of you may know,

  425. trust and obey.

  426. That not only

  427. is it hearing word,

  428. but it's also

  429. living it out.

  430. Their eyes

  431. burned

  432. when they were hearing.

  433. Their eyes

  434. opened,

  435. excuse me,

  436. when they broke bread.

  437. They understood.

  438. That shows you

  439. the power

  440. of Christian community.

  441. that goes to show you

  442. one of the reasons

  443. why we together

  444. can explore

  445. the word of God,

  446. but let it transform

  447. our lives.

  448. There is healing.

  449. There is transformation.

  450. There is understanding

  451. from our Lord

  452. and our God.

  453. Many of you may know

  454. the Gospel of John,

    John 5:39

  455. chapter 5,

  456. verse 39,

  457. which says

  458. that the Scriptures

  459. bear witness

  460. to me.

  461. It's where Christ

  462. is talking to

  463. the Pharisees,

  464. saying you're so

  465. ignorant,

  466. you're looking at

  467. the Scriptures,

  468. not realizing it

  469. points to who

  470. Christ is.

  471. In Revelation 3.20,

  472. I've been mentioning

  473. this one a great deal.

  474. Some of you may see

  475. those pictures

  476. where Jesus is

  477. knocking at the door,

  478. right?

  479. And it's usually

  480. a pleasant image

  481. that you have,

  482. but what's so funny

  483. about it is

  484. if you read it

  485. in context,

  486. judgment's about

  487. to happen,

  488. and you're like,

  489. oh, wait a minute.

  490. But it's a funny

  491. thing nonetheless,

  492. but it's still

  493. a reality.

  494. Doesn't God

  495. invite us

  496. to the table

  497. of plenty?

  498. Doesn't God

  499. invite us

  500. to salvation

  501. by believing

  502. in the death,

  503. burial,

  504. and resurrection

  505. of him?

  506. So this image

  507. of Jesus

  508. knocking at the door

  509. is still appropriate,

  510. be that judgment

  511. or be that invitation.

  512. And of course,

  513. in Acts 2,

    Acts 2:46

  514. verse 46,

  515. they broke bread

  516. together in their

  517. homes and ate

  518. together,

  519. signifying the power.

  520. We know the power

  521. of the resurrection

  522. story,

  523. but it is up to us

  524. to respond.

  525. If you don't know

  526. the Lord,

  527. respond by believing

  528. in the Lord.

  529. If you've been

  530. distant,

  531. and you know

  532. the Lord,

  533. and you've been

  534. hurt,

  535. may I let you know.

  536. Man will fail you,

  537. but God

  538. will never fail you.

  539. Are we perfect,

  540. church?

  541. If you are,

  542. let's talk later.

  543. Right?

  544. I have some questions.

  545. None of us

  546. are perfect,

  547. but we believe

  548. in the God

  549. who is perfect,

  550. who is holy,

  551. everlasting

  552. to everlasting.

  553. He is constant,

  554. and he does not change.

  555. But we do,

  556. don't we?

  557. We change all the time.

  558. And so,

  559. let us keep in mind,

  560. we are to respond.

  561. Believe in the Lord

  562. and be saved.

  563. If you have had any

  564. hurt or injury,

  565. God's still there for you

  566. and invites you

  567. to come back to him.

  568. And if you're a faithful

  569. Christian,

  570. response looks like

  571. living out the faith.

  572. in the words

  573. that you say

  574. and in the actions

  575. that you do,

  576. being a representative

  577. for Christ.

  578. Don't we live

  579. in an everyday world

  580. where there's just

  581. a lot of people?

  582. All sorts of people,

  583. all sorts of different

  584. backgrounds.

  585. That we are to be

  586. the salt

  587. and the light

  588. exhibiting

  589. the life,

  590. love,

  591. and truth

  592. of Christ.

  593. that actually leads us

  594. to the third one.

  595. That the resurrection

  596. requires a response.

  597. Don't you realize

  598. when you see

  599. the empty tomb,

  600. did they stay there?

  601. Yeah, they stood there

  602. in awe.

  603. But eventually,

  604. what did they do?

  605. They left

  606. to tell people

  607. the resurrection story.

  608. In the same way,

  609. on the road,

  610. on Emmaus Road,

  611. same thing,

  612. that Jesus is showing

  613. the scriptures

  614. and how it points to him

  615. and breaks bread

  616. with these two disciples

  617. and he disappears.

  618. But yet,

  619. despite Christ disappearing,

  620. despite him vanishing,

  621. their hearts were on fire

  622. for the living God,

  623. wanting to confirm

  624. what else was happening,

  625. but to share

  626. in the good news

  627. of the gospel.

  628. And in the same way,

  629. well,

  630. once they recognized Jesus,

  631. they got up

  632. and went back

  633. to Jerusalem

  634. the resurrection.

  635. Yeah,

  636. we've got to believe in it.

  637. That's the most

  638. important thing.

  639. But we've also

  640. got to respond to it.

  641. Amen?

  642. Romans 10, 14,

  643. very famous word.

  644. How can they believe

  645. unless they hear

  646. or James 1, 22

  647. to be doers

  648. of the word

  649. and not just hearers?

  650. Or

  651. we find that in scripture.

  652. It wasn't just

  653. a feeling

  654. that they had.

  655. They had to act

  656. because of that feeling,

  657. because of the movement.

  658. We could even say

  659. it was the movement

  660. of the Holy Spirit

  661. to lead them

  662. to go proclaim

  663. the good news

  664. of the gospel.

  665. This leads us then

  666. into

  667. what do we do

  668. about this?

  669. The application.

  670. number one,

  671. don't walk away

  672. from the resurrection

  673. message.

  674. Just like the disciples,

  675. sometimes

  676. we get discouraged.

  677. Sometimes we have moments

  678. in our lives

  679. where we're not filled

  680. with hope.

  681. our Lord

  682. and our God

  683. is the God

  684. of comfort,

  685. truth,

  686. justice,

  687. mercy,

  688. and he is holy.

  689. In Genesis 28, 16,

  690. surely the Lord

  691. is in this place

  692. and I did not know it.

  693. And I pray

  694. that each

  695. and every one

  696. of you

  697. know that you

  698. are loved by God,

  699. know that he

  700. has called you

  701. into a relationship

  702. to grow in him,

  703. to be molded

  704. by him,

  705. to be transformed,

  706. to go,

  707. in simplistic terms,

  708. it's going from

  709. darkness into light.

  710. It's going from

  711. the,

  712. scripture talks about

  713. the domain

  714. of darkness

  715. into the kingdom

  716. of light.

  717. In other words,

  718. it's just going

  719. from unbelief

  720. to belief

  721. and recognizing

  722. that

  723. and

  724. for those

  725. that don't know

  726. the Lord,

  727. may you respond

  728. to know him.

  729. But don't walk away

  730. from that message.

  731. Identify where

  732. you've been walking.

  733. Where are you

  734. on life's journey?

  735. It is my prayer

  736. on your spiritual walk,

  737. on your spiritual journey,

  738. you come to know Christ.

  739. And upon knowing Christ,

  740. you journey

  741. in Christ.

  742. Do you understand

  743. the difference?

  744. The second one

  745. is make room

  746. to encounter

  747. and to grow

  748. in Christ.

  749. That Jesus

  750. didn't force himself

  751. to these disciples.

  752. He waited

  753. for an invitation.

  754. Now think about that.

  755. They were talking

  756. about the scriptures

  757. and it was getting late.

  758. Like,

  759. well,

  760. wait a minute.

  761. We just had a good talk.

  762. I mean,

  763. you've had that before,

  764. right?

  765. You had a good talk

  766. with someone like,

  767. hey,

  768. can we have coffee

  769. or like have lunch sometime?

  770. Like you want to continue

  771. the conversation

  772. kind of thing.

  773. They were so moved.

  774. Christ waited

  775. for that invitation

  776. for them

  777. to invite

  778. Christ in.

  779. and just as I mentioned

  780. earlier that

  781. Christ reveals himself

  782. in the word,

  783. through his presence,

  784. and in relationship.

  785. they urged him strongly,

  786. stay with us.

  787. Have you invited

  788. Christ into your life?

  789. Only you can answer that.

  790. And I certainly hope

  791. that you have

  792. and if you haven't,

  793. may you receive him

  794. in your life.

  795. This is the bridge

  796. of hope

  797. that is

  798. extended to you,

  799. much like how I use

  800. the language

  801. of the invitation

  802. or the visitation

  803. of Christ.

  804. This then leads us

  805. to

  806. that third point.

  807. Talking about bridges

  808. is walking the bridge

  809. of hope

  810. back

  811. to others.

  812. Now,

  813. did the disciples

  814. wait until

  815. the next morning?

  816. Oh,

  817. cool,

  818. man.

  819. No.

  820. They

  821. left

  822. immediately

  823. to go back

  824. to Jerusalem

  825. to proclaim

  826. in the news

  827. of the risen Christ.

  828. Think about that.

  829. The resurrection,

  830. when we come here

  831. on Easter

  832. and we're celebrating

  833. Christ's victory

  834. over death

  835. and over sin,

  836. that is something

  837. that we should share

  838. with our friends

  839. and our family.

  840. That is something

  841. that we should live out

  842. and embody

  843. when we interact

  844. with everyday people.

  845. Is everybody

  846. we interact with

  847. Christian?

  848. The answer is no.

  849. Right?

  850. Every,

  851. we interact

  852. with all kinds

  853. of people.

  854. That is why

  855. it's not only

  856. important for you

  857. to speak

  858. the truth

  859. in love,

  860. but to live it out.

  861. You've got to

  862. embody that

  863. every single day.

  864. just why

  865. the scriptures

  866. say to be

  867. an ambassador

  868. for Christ.

  869. We've got

  870. to embody that.

  871. It's too great.

  872. The gospel,

  873. the resurrection

  874. story

  875. is too great

  876. for us

  877. to keep

  878. quiet.

  879. It should

  880. move us.

  881. It is meant

  882. to be carried.

  883. It is meant

  884. for us

  885. to go

  886. into

  887. our community

  888. and to

  889. transform

  890. culture

  891. in the name

  892. of Christ.

  893. Not forcing it,

  894. but speaking

  895. to it,

  896. living it out,

  897. being that

  898. example for

  899. others.

  900. In Acts

  901. 420,

  902. just as today

  903. is 420,

  904. I'm going to

  905. give you a

  906. scripture verse.

  907. verse,

  908. in Acts

  909. 420,

  910. it says,

  911. we cannot

  912. help speaking

  913. about what

  914. we have

  915. seen

  916. and what

  917. we have

  918. heard.

  919. That's

  920. powerful.

  921. In the

  922. same way,

  923. the people

  924. who came

  925. onto the

  926. scene

  927. to see

  928. that the

  929. stone

  930. was gone

  931. and the

  932. two

  933. disciples

  934. that broke

  935. bread

  936. with Christ,

  937. the pattern

  938. is,

  939. the message

  940. is so

  941. great.

  942. That they

  943. had to

  944. share it.

  945. And church,

  946. the message

  947. of the

  948. resurrection

  949. of Christ

  950. rising from

  951. the dead

  952. goes to

  953. show us

  954. the power

  955. of who

  956. our God

  957. is.

  958. That we

  959. trust in

  960. the living

  961. God.

  962. We don't

  963. trust in

  964. a dead

  965. God.

  966. We trust

  967. in the

  968. God who

  969. is above

  970. all space

  971. and all

  972. time.

  973. And it

  974. is up to

  975. us to

  976. carry out

  977. that message

  978. to those

  979. that we

  980. know,

  981. even those

  982. we don't

  983. know,

  984. even to

  985. other people.

  986. I want you

  987. to think

  988. about that

  989. for this

  990. Easter

  991. morning,

  992. that

  993. resurrection

  994. Sunday is

  995. not just

  996. about an

  997. empty tomb.

  998. Oh,

  999. no,

  1000. it's much

  1001. more than

  1002. that.

  1003. It's the

  1004. fact of

  1005. why it's

  1006. empty,

  1007. recognizing

  1008. that it

  1009. is the

  1010. power of

  1011. God.

  1012. It's

  1013. about our

  1014. Savior

  1015. who walks

  1016. with us,

  1017. who speaks

  1018. to us

  1019. and desires

  1020. for us to

  1021. be together.

  1022. For we

  1023. are better

  1024. when we

  1025. are together.

  1026. And the

  1027. beautiful thing

  1028. is that

  1029. he opens

  1030. our eyes

  1031. and transforms

  1032. us from

  1033. the inside

  1034. out.

  1035. You don't

  1036. have to

  1037. understand

  1038. everything

  1039. to experience

  1040. Christ.

  1041. If that

  1042. were the

  1043. case,

  1044. it would be

  1045. very different,

  1046. wouldn't it?

  1047. you just

  1048. have to

  1049. walk with

  1050. him.

  1051. Because

  1052. Jesus is

  1053. ready to

  1054. walk with

  1055. you in

  1056. life.

  1057. And

  1058. isn't it

  1059. beautiful to

  1060. know that

  1061. Christ is

  1062. there with

  1063. us,

  1064. no matter

  1065. what happens

  1066. to us,

  1067. or what

  1068. people do

  1069. to us.

  1070. God's

  1071. going to be

  1072. there for

  1073. you.

  1074. Walk

  1075. with

  1076. him,

  1077. listen to

  1078. him,

  1079. and receive

  1080. that gift

  1081. of salvation.

  1082. And this

  1083. response,

  1084. that's why I

  1085. titled this

  1086. sermon,

  1087. Resurrection

  1088. and Response,

  1089. and in

  1090. closing, I

  1091. want you to

  1092. think about

  1093. this.

  1094. Hearing the

  1095. resurrection

  1096. story completes

  1097. the gospel

  1098. narrative.

  1099. The death,

  1100. burial,

  1101. and

  1102. resurrection.

  1103. Ask

  1104. yourself this

  1105. question.

  1106. How are

  1107. you going

  1108. to respond

  1109. to the

  1110. resurrection

  1111. story?

  1112. Only you

  1113. can answer

  1114. that.

  1115. May you

  1116. respond

  1117. to the

  1118. resurrection.

  1119. Let's pray

  1120. together.

  1121. And

  1122. Father,

  1123. we thank

  1124. you for

  1125. this time

  1126. and this

  1127. opportunity

  1128. for us

  1129. to gather

  1130. together

  1131. on this

  1132. Easter,

  1133. this

  1134. resurrection

  1135. Sunday.

  1136. May we

  1137. recognize

  1138. your power,

  1139. your glory,

  1140. your might,

  1141. your

  1142. consistency.

  1143. And

  1144. Father, I

  1145. pray for

  1146. everyone who

  1147. is here in

  1148. person,

  1149. everyone who

  1150. is watching

  1151. online, or

  1152. everyone who's

  1153. going to

  1154. listen to

  1155. this message,

  1156. that they

  1157. recognize that

  1158. they are loved

  1159. by you,

  1160. and that you

  1161. sent your

  1162. Son, that

  1163. whoever,

  1164. anyone,

  1165. everyone who

  1166. believes shall

  1167. not perish,

  1168. but have

  1169. everlasting,

  1170. eternal life.

  1171. Father, we've

  1172. gone over

  1173. this part in

  1174. scripture where

  1175. these two

  1176. disciples

  1177. did not

  1178. understand, but

  1179. they did

  1180. understand.

  1181. I pray that

  1182. if there is

  1183. any that do

  1184. not understand

  1185. the resurrection

  1186. story, may

  1187. they understand

  1188. it today.

  1189. I pray that

  1190. if there's

  1191. anyone who's

  1192. been hurting

  1193. by people,

  1194. that there

  1195. will be

  1196. healing.

  1197. And I

  1198. pray that

  1199. every single

  1200. person,

  1201. know that

  1202. they're loved

  1203. by you, and

  1204. respond to

  1205. the resurrection

  1206. story, and

  1207. live it out

  1208. every single

  1209. day.

  1210. It is in

  1211. the name of

  1212. Jesus Christ,

  1213. the cornerstone

  1214. of our faith,

  1215. that we pray

  1216. and we all say

  1217. together, amen.

  1218. Amen.

  1219. Thank you for

  1220. listening for this

  1221. week's message from

  1222. Ontario Community

  1223. Church.

  1224. I pray that you

  1225. are encouraged and

  1226. strengthened in your

  1227. walk with Christ.

  1228. For more sermons

  1229. and resources,

  1232. May God bless you

  1233. as you live out

  1234. His grace and

  1235. truth every single

  1236. day.
