  1. Welcome to Ontario Community Church, where we are encouraging, equipping, and engaging lives for Christ.

  2. ! I'm Pastor Patrick Daly, and each week I share sermons that balance the grace and love of Jesus Christ with the truth of the Word of God.

  3. Together, we'll explore Scripture using observation, interpretation, and application.

  4. This helps us discover practical ways to live out our faith every single day.

  5. Let's dive in together into God's Word.

  6. Alright, well good morning everyone.

  7. It's great to be here with all of you as we are going back into our sermon series through the parables of Christ.

  8. Parables are so interesting. They're very unique. They're very simple, but yet they're full of depth.

  9. Today, as we are in this Easter season, let us remember first and foremost

  10. the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  11. Let us recognize that it is Jesus who is the way, the truth, and the life.

  12. Jesus being born in a manger, Him teaching these parables that we are going over, the miracles that He performed,

  13. walking on water, calming the storm, healing the sick, raising people from the dead.

  14. It goes to show you the power of who our God is.

  15. That God is consistent in His Word.

  16. And God continues to speak to us through His Word and through others as well.

  17. And we're grateful for our Lord and our God.

  18. You've just heard Mark Iseri read the parable of the wicked tenants from the Gospel of Matthew.

  19. And we're going to go into this.

  20. Because it's a very interesting parable that shows us something of great significance.

  21. You see, this parable is found in the Gospel of Matthew.

  22. It's found in the Gospel of Mark and in Luke as well.

  23. So when you see something that shows up three times, it's something that you should pay attention to.

  24. Amen?

  25. So we see this three times where Jesus entered in Jerusalem and He's confronting the religious leaders.

  26. And the religious leaders, they realize that this parable is targeted.

  27. It's aimed directly at them.

  28. The Scripture says that they acknowledged or they realized that this parable was towards them.

  29. So stewardship and judgment.

  30. Let's go to that next slide.

  31. And I want to take a moment.

  32. Let's go one more.

  33. I want you to look at this image here.

  34. You see here, what is this church?

  35. What is this?

  36. Like a vineyard, right?

  37. You see there, you know, you have grapes, you have the hills and all that.

  38. I kind of think of Napa, California specifically, or Sonoma.

  39. Those kind of things where you can see that kind of imagery.

  40. And what we have in here are certain symbols from the text that they have certain representations.

  41. So we have the vineyard then, which represents the people of God.

  42. It's representing Israel.

  43. We then have the fence, which is symbolic for God's protection.

  44. You want to have a fence or a wall around your vineyard, right?

  45. Because in a lot of times in Scriptures, it's saying you don't want people stealing your crops kind of thing.

  46. That makes a lot of sense, right, why we have fences and walls especially.

  47. And then you have the winepress here, which you see that there's the fruit that's growing on the vine or in the vineyard.

  48. And there's this expectation from the Lord to an expectation of harvest.

  49. So not only are we to bear fruit, there's this expectation, at least in this scene, where there must be producing fruit.

  50. And in this case, we could just say making wine for this sake.

  51. You have the tower in the background then, which is representing God's care and provision for his people, right?

  52. Like when you have a tower for a vineyard especially, you want to be able to look out, yes, at the beautiful sunrise and sunset.

  53. But you also want to be able to also protect if anyone is going into the vineyard.

  54. Does that make sense, church?

  55. Okay.

  56. Now, we don't have the picture of the tenants or the servants or the son or the owners and the new tenants.

  57. But you still get at least the scene of what is going on.

  58. So we have the tenants, which is a representation of the people of God, their leaders, representing also the people of God.

  59. We have also the servants, which represents the prophets that were sent by God.

  60. Then the son, which represents Jesus Christ as the, well, as the heir, as the messenger.

  61. And then the owner, which is God the Father.

  62. And then new tenants.

  63. Well, as we know in scripture, that there is the mystery of Christ that is revealed,

  64. going from what used to be exclusive to the people of God, being available for everyone who believes in the Lord.

  65. So, it is showing that from once the Jewish people, now going to all who believe in Christ.

  66. Does that make sense, church?

  67. Okay.

  68. So, the new tenants is those who respond to Christ.

  69. I want us to go back here.

  70. Let's turn to the Gospel of Matthew.

  71. And I want you to see, knowing this, what we just went over,

  72. how beautiful this parable aligns with our understanding of God, His Word, and His plan for us.

  73. Right?

  74. There was a master of a house, God, who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it.

  75. Okay?

  76. And He dug a wine press, right?

  77. The expectation of producing fruit.

  78. And leased it to tenants, right?

  79. There's this idea of stewardship that's in there.

  80. The people of God were to steward God's promises.

  81. And where did He go?

  82. So, the master went to another country, or the owner went to another country.

  83. When the season for fruit drew near, so there was a certain amount of time for fruit to be produced,

  84. He sent His servants to the tenants to get fruit,

  85. sending the messengers, the prophets, to go to the people of God to collect the fruit.

  86. And what did the tenants do?

  87. They take His servants, and do they welcome Him in?

  88. No, it says, they beat one, they killed another, and they stoned another.

  89. Again, He sent other servants.

  90. I mean, if one servant got killed, if I was the owner, I'd be pretty upset.

  91. But continuing of sending servants here, giving more opportunity for the people of God.

  92. Okay?

  93. He sent other servants, more than the first.

  94. And did they welcome Him in?

  95. No.

  96. They did the same to them.

  97. And finally, He sent His Son, the heir.

  98. He sent His Son to them, saying,

  99. They will respect My Son.

  100. Right?

  101. That makes perfect sense.

  102. They're being disrespectful.

  103. They're doing all these terrible things to these messengers that I'm sending.

  104. Surely they would respect My Son.

  105. They're living in the vineyard.

  106. They're being there.

  107. They're dwelling there.

  108. Well, this is not the case.

  109. When the tenants saw the Son, they said to themselves,

  110. This is the heir.

  111. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.

  112. Thinking that the death of the Son,

  113. they would, by killing him,

  114. they would gain.

  115. But here's the thing.

  116. And just as we talk about in this Easter season,

  117. evil thinks it can win.

  118. But in the end, evil does not win.

  119. When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes,

  120. what will he do to those tenants?

  121. He said to them,

  122. He will put wretches to a miserable death

  123. and let out the vineyard to other tenants

  124. who give him the fruits in their season.

  125. That is a very important thing, church,

  126. when we read that.

  127. Because it's representing the old covenant,

  128. the old system in which the Jewish people had

  129. prior to the new covenant.

  130. But it's all based in this kind of vineyard language,

  131. as it were.

  132. Those who will give him the fruits in their seasons,

  133. which goes to show the importance.

  134. Church, it's important for us to recognize

  135. to believe in Jesus Christ,

  136. the death, burial, and resurrection.

  137. It's also important that upon believing in him,

  138. we are to bear fruit.

  139. We are to be molded by our Lord and our God,

  140. being transformed, right?

  141. The transformation of mind,

  142. the transformation of heart,

  143. the very essence of who we are

  144. should be on a trajectory of being more like him.

  145. That doesn't mean we're going to be perfect, though, does it?

  146. Are any of us perfect in here?

  147. Don't raise your hand.

  148. We'll talk later, right?

  149. But the reality is,

  150. nobody is perfect.

  151. But God continues to mold us.

  152. He continues to make us like him.

  153. And so that's a very pivotal point there.

  154. Jesus said to them,

  155. have you not read in the scriptures?

  156. It's in the Gospel of Luke,

  157. where the Pharisees actually interject and said,

  158. this isn't the case.

  159. But Jesus is still saying in here,

  160. have you not read the scriptures?

  161. The stone that the builders rejected

  162. has become the cornerstone.

  163. This was the Lord's doing,

  164. and it is marvelous in our eyes.

  165. Therefore, the kingdom of God

  166. will be taken away from you

  167. and given to a people producing fruit,

  168. which goes to show,

  169. paving the way for salvation

  170. to be available for all who believe.

  171. And in that belief,

  172. we are called to be transformed,

  173. to grow in Christ,

  174. and to live and love like Jesus Christ.

  175. Amen?

  176. Does this make sense, church?

  177. Okay.

  178. And the one who falls on this stone

  179. will be broken to pieces,

  180. and when it falls on anyone,

  181. it will crush him.

  182. And when the chief priests

  183. and the Pharisees heard this parable,

  184. they perceived that he was speaking about them.

  185. And although they were seeking to arrest him,

  186. they feared the crowds

  187. because they held him to be a prophet.

  188. I want you to think for a moment.

  189. That language about tripping over a stone

  190. and breaking,

  191. how many of you know Daniel 2, verse 35?

    Daniel 2:35

  192. It's in your notes.

  193. Where it talks about a stone

  194. that gets thrown into a great statue.

  195. Some of you know what I'm talking about.

  196. The statue is made of bronze and iron and copper,

  197. and it shatters to pieces.

  198. It's actually a direct connection to Daniel,

  199. which is representing all of the kingdoms of the world

  200. will be shattered against God.

  201. Nations, people, groups, people

  202. without the stone will not prevail.

  203. So it's this wonderful tie-in

  204. with the Old Testament

  205. and just with lots of scripture in this.

  206. And so it's very interesting that in Daniel,

  207. where you have this stone,

  208. that's a very small stone,

  209. it takes down this giant statue

  210. and then grows into a mountain.

  211. What in the world's happening there?

  212. It's representing the kingdom of God,

  213. just like we've talked about the mustard seed, right?

  214. The seed that gets planted into the ground

  215. and it grows into something that is more powerful,

  216. something that is great,

  217. because that's how God works.

  218. It gets planted and it expands.

  219. And so the stone being our foundation,

  220. it expands.

  221. Do you build your life on Jesus Christ?

  222. Is he your firm foundation?

  223. Is he the anchor for your life?

  224. And it's interesting in this language

  225. when it's saying that someone who falls,

  226. trips and falls on the stone

  227. is very similar to the idea of the stone

  228. being cast upon this statue

  229. and shattering to pieces.

  230. Does that make sense, church?

  231. Do you understand?

  232. I sure hope that you do.

  233. And so in all of this,

  234. the vineyard is planted with care.

  235. God entrusts his people.

  236. The servants are beaten and they're killed.

  237. It's prophetic rejection.

  238. The son is killed outside of the vineyard,

  239. which foretells of Christ's crucifixion

  240. and judgment comes

  241. and the wicked tenants are destroyed.

  242. And then there is the cornerstone prophecy,

  243. which Christ is the new foundation

  244. and the kingdom is transferred

  245. for all who bear fruit.

  246. So not we must believe in the Lord,

  247. but we also must grow in him

  248. and be moved to do good in his name.

  249. So what does all of this mean then

  250. as we go into this?

  251. Here at Ontario Community Church,

  252. we use what is known as the OIA method.

  253. O as an observation.

  254. What in the world is going on in the text?

  255. I is for interpretation.

  256. What are the lessons we can learn?

  257. And thirdly is the application.

  258. What do we do about this?

  259. So let's go to that next slide.

  260. It is the I interpretation.

  261. What can we learn and interpret from this?

  262. The first thing is that God sends people

  263. even when we reject them.

  264. God's patience is showing

  265. that God is not quick to anger

  266. because he is continually sending these prophets

  267. to speak to the people

  268. to get them to change,

  269. to get them to see their evil ways

  270. and to turn to the Lord.

  271. That's a pattern that we see

  272. and we also can recognize

  273. that mercy is shown before judgment

  274. that God does extend mercy.

  275. It's much like when we think about salvation here

  276. for the Christian.

  277. God gives a certain amount of time

  278. but not forever.

  279. That's an important thing.

  280. And so in 2 Chronicles,

  281. it's in your notes,

  282. chapter 36, verses 15 through 16,

  283. it mentions that time and time again

  284. he sent messengers.

  285. Again, showing the mercy of God.

  286. In Hebrews, chapter 1, verses 1 through 2,

    Hebrews 1:1–2

  287. in time past,

  288. God spoke now through his son,

  289. which is talking about Christ,

  290. from prophets to Christ.

  291. And so in all of this,

  292. it just means that God

  293. doesn't give up easily on you.

  294. God is merciful and he gives,

  295. he gave the people of God

  296. lots and lots of time.

  297. In the same way,

  298. he gives us the opportunity

  299. to turn to him in faith.

  300. The second thing then

  301. is rejecting the son

  302. leads to what, church?

  303. To judgment.

  304. The murder of the son

  305. goes to show the depravity, right?

  306. It goes to show the depth

  307. of the rebellion of these people.

  308. And the stone imagery then

  309. is showing that Christ,

  310. well, he is showing a new system,

  311. a new way of doing things.

  312. Instead of following the law,

  313. it is now about grace.

  314. Going from the old system

  315. to the new system.

  316. In Psalm 118, 22,

  317. the very reference

  318. that Christ is using,

  319. the stone the builders rejected

  320. has become the cornerstone.

  321. And then as I mentioned

  322. in Daniel chapter 2,

    Daniel 2 chapter mention

  323. the stone became a mountain

  324. that filled the whole earth.

  325. Do you see the pattern

  326. when it comes to the stone here?

  327. And then in Acts 4.11,

  328. Jesus is the stone.

  329. If you need it more clear,

  330. in Acts 4.11,

  331. Jesus is the stone

  332. that the builders rejected.

  333. How powerful.

  334. How powerful is that?

  335. And so Jesus dying on the cross,

  336. right, his death, burial,

  337. and resurrection

  338. is the cornerstone

  339. for our salvation.

  340. We think of that

  341. as the firm foundation

  342. in which we build our lives.

  343. Let us not be like the fool

  344. who builds their house on the sand.

  345. Who does that anyways, right?

  346. You want to build your house

  347. on the firm foundation then.

  348. And then thirdly,

  349. the kingdom is given to those

  350. who will bear fruit.

  351. The tenants then,

  352. they failed to steward

  353. all that they were given.

  354. Right?

  355. Fruitfulness is a sign.

  356. It's kind of this

  357. outward expression

  358. of faith to the Lord.

  359. You're going to have

  360. to produce fruit.

  361. Right?

  362. I will tell you,

  363. believe in Jesus Christ.

  364. That's the call for us.

  365. Be saved,

  366. but also be transformed.

  367. Grow in Christ

  368. and do good

  369. in his holy name.

  370. Bear fruit.

  371. And what does bearing fruit

  372. look like?

  373. It's being transformed

  374. from the inside out,

  375. knowing that you're becoming

  376. more like Jesus

  377. in what you say

  378. and in what you do.

  379. And in the gospel accounts,

  380. it mentions in Matthew and John,

  381. every tree or every branch

  382. that does not bear fruit,

  383. he cuts off.

  384. And certainly,

  385. that's a heavier one,

  386. isn't it?

  387. But we are called to bear fruit.

  388. Let that be an encouragement

  389. for you.

  390. How is your fruit?

  391. Are you producing fruit?

  392. If you're not,

  393. let this be a call for you

  394. to produce fruit.

  395. We then go into

  396. the application then.

  397. How can I apply

  398. and live this out

  399. in my life?

  400. Well, the first thing is to,

  401. well, it's pretty obvious.

  402. What does it say, church?

  403. Receive the Son.

  404. Don't reject Him.

  405. Jesus,

  406. we have to acknowledge

  407. who He is.

  408. That He is what we need

  409. in our lives.

  410. That Jesus Christ,

  411. again,

  412. is the way,

  413. the truth,

  414. and the life.

  415. God extends

  416. an invitation

  417. for each and every one of us

  418. to come

  419. to the feast.

  420. Will you respond

  421. to that?

  422. Receive the Lord

  423. and integrate Him

  424. into every part

  425. of your life.

  426. Having Christ

  427. as the center

  428. of your life.

  429. maybe you're resisting

  430. God's call

  431. for your life.

  432. Don't do that.

  433. Listen to God's call

  434. because I'm here

  435. to tell you

  436. that Jesus provides

  437. a better way.

  438. A better way

  439. than what the world

  440. has to offer.

  441. A better way

  442. than what,

  443. when we think of

  444. this constant fighting,

  445. brother against brother,

  446. left versus right,

  447. and denominations

  448. fighting against one another.

  449. There is an ugliness

  450. in that

  451. when really what matters

  452. is us coming to the Lord,

  453. coming before Him

  454. and being molded.

  455. Let's remember that.

  456. Don't reject the Lord.

  457. I know

  458. it's so important

  459. for us to recognize

  460. that God

  461. is constant

  462. and He does not fail us.

  463. I've said it before

  464. and I'll say it again.

  465. Man can

  466. and man will fail you.

  467. But God

  468. will not fail you.

  469. That's important.

  470. The second thing then

  471. is to let the stone

  472. establish

  473. and shape

  474. your life.

  475. He is the foundation

  476. for our lives.

  477. Consider Christ

  478. as the most important stone

  479. that you have

  480. when we talk about

  481. this foundation.

  482. When we're considering

  483. that prophecy of Daniel

  484. and this tie-in

  485. with the parable,

  486. the stone

  487. which the builders rejected

  488. has become

  489. the cornerstone.

  490. And

  491. in the same way

  492. that this stone

  493. can destroy a statue

  494. or people can trip on it

  495. and get destroyed,

  496. those are the ones

  497. that are going

  498. against the stone.

  499. Well, let us consider

  500. when we have the stone

  501. as our foundation.

  502. Not only having it

  503. as our foundation,

  504. but continuing

  505. to let the stone grow

  506. just like the mustard seed,

  507. right?

  508. Being planted

  509. and growing

  510. or the stone

  511. going

  512. from a small stone

  513. into a mountain,

  514. growing

  515. and transforming

  516. your life.

  517. When we think

  518. of leadership,

  519. when we think

  520. of family

  521. or finances,

  522. every part

  523. of our life

  524. will be transformed

  525. by Jesus.

  526. That is the beautiful thing.

  527. And when we think

  528. about it,

  529. I'm sure that many

  530. of you may know

  531. someone that is

  532. close to the Lord.

  533. Someone that you know

  534. who you have seen

  535. has been transformed

  536. and it's remarkable.

  537. There's one individual,

  538. I won't give him

  539. the name.

  540. If he's watching,

  541. he'll probably

  542. make fun of me,

  543. but there's a gentleman

  544. that I know

  545. who was really

  546. like the gothic

  547. dark type of person

  548. who was listening.

  549. And there's nothing

  550. wrong with dressing

  551. in black.

  552. I do it all the time,

  553. okay?

  554. But he was living

  555. a very worldly life

  556. where there was

  557. such division

  558. in his marriage

  559. and in his relationships.

  560. people prayed for him.

  561. His wife,

  562. he started attending church

  563. and it was kind of

  564. this rebellion

  565. that was happening.

  566. And over a few years,

  567. it was little by little

  568. where God was

  569. transforming the man

  570. to where he became

  571. a believer in Jesus Christ,

  572. to where he became

  573. baptized.

  574. And he's a much

  575. different man.

  576. If you knew him,

  577. I've known him

  578. for about a decade.

  579. From when I first

  580. met him,

  581. he was kind of scary,

  582. I admit,

  583. to where he is now,

  584. a very loving man.

  585. Now, he doesn't

  586. understand everything

  587. about scripture.

  588. Who does?

  589. But God is continuing

  590. to work in him

  591. in his life.

  592. And in the same way,

  593. you might identify

  594. as someone

  595. who is rebelling

  596. against the Lord.

  597. Maybe you have

  598. rebelled before.

  599. Or does no one

  600. here rebel anymore,

  601. right?

  602. We've all had our moments

  603. where we rebelled

  604. against God

  605. and we thought

  606. we could do it

  607. on our own.

  608. We thought that the world

  609. or that our own way,

  610. our own understanding

  611. was better than

  612. what God offered.

  613. What God offers

  614. is not just salvation,

  615. but transformation.

  616. The ability to love,

  617. right?

  618. When I've talked about

  619. the peace that surpasses

  620. all understanding,

  621. when I've talked about

  622. the inexhaustible joy

  623. that comes from him,

  624. there is so much.

  625. And so,

  626. let your life

  627. be dedicated

  628. for the Lord.

  629. And so,

  630. in the same way

  631. where you've heard

  632. that story,

  633. you either have

  634. the rock

  635. as your foundation

  636. or the sand,

  637. well,

  638. you can either,

  639. you're either built

  640. by the stone

  641. or you're shattered

  642. by it.

  643. That's another way

  644. to look at it.

  645. And the third thing,

  646. then,

  647. is to grow

  648. and to bear fruit

  649. as witness

  650. to others.

  651. It's a call

  652. for us

  653. to believe in Christ,

  654. to grow in him,

  655. but to go out

  656. into the world

  657. and to share

  658. in the good news

  659. of the gospel.

  660. Talking about

  661. character change,

  662. your life-changing

  663. love,

  664. justice,

  665. and mission.

  666. All of these things

  667. are part of the

  668. transformation

  669. that happens.

  670. Now,

  671. here's the thing.

  672. As we come

  673. to Christ

  674. and as we grow

  675. in Christ,

  676. there comes a point

  677. where you gotta

  678. live it out.

  679. If you receive,

  680. right now,

  681. a check for a million dollars

  682. and it was legit,

  683. you wouldn't tell

  684. people about it?

  685. I mean,

  686. I know technically

  687. you probably shouldn't

  688. because people

  689. would come after you

  690. for it,

  691. but just for the

  692. sake here,

  693. you would most

  694. likely want to

  695. tell people about it.

  696. Right?

  697. If you think of a debt

  698. that's been cleared

  699. or receiving

  700. a wonderful gift,

  701. we can think of

  702. all these things

  703. here on the earth.

  704. When we think

  705. about this,

  706. well,

  707. think about a far

  708. greater gift

  709. that comes from above.

  710. Think of a far

  711. greater gift

  712. that comes from Christ.

  713. Wouldn't you

  714. want to go out

  715. to the world

  716. and tell your friends

  717. and your family

  718. of the transforming

  719. power of Jesus Christ?

  720. Saying,

  721. look,

  722. I believe in Jesus.

  723. I'm going to

  724. declare his name.

  725. And maybe

  726. you might be

  727. in a situation

  728. where you just

  729. can't

  730. speak the words.

  731. How many of you

  732. have been in that

  733. situation?

  734. You go out

  735. and you want to

  736. share the good news

  737. of the gospel

  738. and it's not allowed

  739. or it might ruin

  740. the relationship.

  741. Right?

  742. Do we have any of those?

  743. Don't raise your hand.

  744. Please.

  745. But I'm sure

  746. for a lot of us

  747. we've had those

  748. situations where

  749. it might be

  750. your workplace.

  751. It might be

  752. Uncle Steve

  753. if there's anyone

  754. named Steve here.

  755. Or Uncle John.

  756. Whatever it is.

  757. There might be

  758. that family member

  759. you just don't

  760. talk about the Lord

  761. when you go over

  762. to his house.

  763. It may not be

  764. the words that you say.

  765. It can certainly

  766. be the actions

  767. that you do.

  768. Doing everything

  769. in excellence

  770. for the glory of God.

  771. Let your schoolwork

  772. or your job performance

  773. let that reflect

  774. the light

  775. love and truth

  776. of Christ.

  777. And so

  778. in everything

  779. that we are

  780. we're called

  781. to share

  782. in the gospel

  783. message

  784. by words

  785. through actions

  786. living and loving

  787. like Jesus.

  788. Because you want

  789. to have people

  790. who see Christ

  791. in you

  792. as you live

  793. your life.

  794. Do you realize

  795. that people

  796. can come to Christ

  797. just by the way

  798. that you live

  799. your life?

  800. Say,

  801. you know what?

  802. There's something

  803. that's different

  804. about you.

  805. I don't know

  806. what it is.

  807. There's something

  808. that's different

  809. about you.

  810. What is it

  811. about you?

  812. And you allow

  813. for that conversation

  814. to happen

  815. because that's

  816. some of the most

  817. powerful ways

  818. that we evangelize

  819. is through

  820. relationships.

  821. Breaking bread

  822. together.

  823. As I mentioned

  824. in the Easter message

  825. where Jesus

  826. was on the road

  827. with Emmaus

  828. with the two

  829. disciples

  830. and they broke

  831. bread together.

  832. They talked

  833. about the scriptures

  834. and they understood.

  835. And then Christ

  836. disappeared

  837. just randomly.

  838. But it was

  839. to show

  840. that their hearts

  841. were on fire

  842. for the Lord.

  843. And as we

  844. come to Christ,

  845. as we get

  846. baptized,

  847. as we grow

  848. in Christ

  849. and we start

  850. understanding

  851. the deeper

  852. things of God,

  853. let us be

  854. moved

  855. to serve

  856. the community,

  857. to serve

  858. the church,

  859. and to live

  860. like Jesus

  861. Christ.

  862. that is so

  863. important

  864. for us.

  865. In Galatians

    Galatians 5:22

  866. chapter 5

  867. verse 22

  868. and 23

  869. mentions the

  870. fruit of the

  871. Spirit.

  872. In Matthew

  873. 28, 19

  874. which talks

  875. about fruit

  876. through making

  877. disciples.

  878. And so

  879. can we go

  880. back to that

  881. vineyard

  882. picture real

  883. quick?

  884. As we

  885. close here,

  886. I want you

  887. next time

  888. you go

  889. visit a

  890. vineyard

  891. or you

  892. look at

  893. an image,

  894. it's just

  895. a generic

  896. image,

  897. you can

  898. see lots

  899. of pictures

  900. of vineyards,

  901. consider

  902. this concept

  903. of stewardship

  904. that with

  905. our time,

  906. our talent,

  907. and our

  908. treasure,

  909. we are to

  910. steward what

  911. God has

  912. given to

  913. us.

  914. Consider

  915. the stone

  916. and let

  917. that be the

  918. foundation for

  919. your life.

  920. And when

  921. you hear

  922. the word

  923. of God,

  924. the words

  925. of someone's

  926. testimony,

  927. receive

  928. Jesus Christ.

  929. Receive

  930. salvation from

  931. the Lord

  932. through belief.

  933. Grow in

  934. him and

  935. be moved

  936. to do good

  937. in his name.

  938. Ask yourself

  939. this question

  940. then.

  941. Will you

  942. be a

  943. faithful

  944. tenant

  945. inheritance?

  946. Or will

  947. you let

  948. that

  949. opportunity

  950. pass away?

  951. Let's

  952. pray together.

  953. And

  954. Father,

  955. we thank

  956. you for

  957. this time

  958. and this

  959. opportunity

  960. to go

  961. through this

  962. very unique

  963. parable

  964. that not

  965. only shows

  966. the old

  967. and the new

  968. covenant,

  969. but also

  970. shows your

  971. mercy,

  972. how you

  973. send,

  974. how you

  975. sent your

  976. messengers to

  977. the people

  978. of God,

  979. but also

  980. how you

  981. send people

  982. to us

  983. to change

  984. our minds

  985. and metanoia,

  986. to repent,

  987. to come to

  988. believe in

  989. you.

  990. Father,

  991. I pray

  992. let there

  993. be comfort

  994. where comfort

  995. is needed.

  996. Let there

  997. be understanding

  998. where understanding

  999. is needed.

  1000. And may we

  1001. not be like

  1002. those wicked

  1003. tenants that

  1004. rejected the

  1005. messengers

  1006. and rejected

  1007. the son.

  1008. Instead,

  1009. may we be

  1010. in tune

  1011. to your

  1012. calling,

  1013. to your

  1014. invitation,

  1015. to believe

  1016. in you,

  1017. to be saved,

  1018. the invitation

  1019. for salvation,

  1020. but also

  1021. the invitation

  1022. to grow,

  1023. to live out

  1024. this faith

  1025. essentially

  1026. to produce

  1027. fruit.

  1028. We love

  1029. you,

  1030. we praise

  1031. you,

  1032. we glorify

  1033. you,

  1034. and we

  1035. honor you.

  1036. we thank

  1037. you for

  1038. this time

  1039. together.

  1040. It is in

  1041. the name

  1042. of Jesus

  1043. that we

  1044. pray and

  1045. we all

  1046. say together

  1047. amen.

  1048. Amen.

  1049. Thank you

  1050. for listening

  1051. for this

  1052. week's

  1053. message

  1054. from

  1055. Ontario

  1056. Community

  1057. Church.

  1058. I pray

  1059. that you

  1060. are encouraged

  1061. and strengthened

  1062. in your

  1063. walk with

  1064. Christ.

  1078. and truth

  1079. every single

  1080. day.
