  1. Hallelujah. He is risen. Yeah. What a

  2. wonderful day to celebrate um Easter

  3. Sunday. What does it mean to

  4. you? Means that Jesus lives. Uh he died.

  5. He's defeated death and he's risen

  6. again. Um and what a wonderful day that

  7. is. Easter reminds us that Jesus paid

  8. the ultimate price for our sin. He died

  9. on the cross for the forgiveness of our

  10. sins so that we can have eternal life.

  11. We all know that famous verse in John

  12. 3:16-1 17. For God so loved the world

  13. that he sent his one and only son so

  14. that whoever believes in him shall not

  15. perish but have eternal life. For God

  16. did not send his son to condemn the

  17. world but to save the world through him.

  18. As a church, we spent the last few weeks

  19. reflecting on the Easter the key

  20. elements of the Easter story. And I hope

  21. you've all made the most of the

  22. reflection stations that we've been able

  23. to set up to see the garden in the

  24. corner there. And if you haven't, do

  25. have a look at it after the service um

  26. to see the crown of thorns to hold the

  27. nails and feel what what might that have

  28. felt like. Um today we've got another

  29. table set up. You can hold and smell the

  30. spices. There's myrrh, there's cinnamon,

  31. there's cloves, and um

  32. Anise, take time to reflect and to to

  33. take the little We've got a little

  34. reflection

  35. um handout as well. You can take that

  36. home and reflect over the

  37. week. I don't know about you, but I've

  38. spent a lot of time reflecting over the

  39. last few weeks, reading, meditating on

  40. everything Jesus has done for me. And I

  41. want to recap some of those things

  42. today. But first, let's pray.

  43. Heavenly Father, we thank you for your

  44. sacrifice you gave in your son to

  45. forgive us of our sins, the death he

  46. suffered just for us so that we can have

  47. eternal life with you. We pray Lord that

  48. that you speak to us today, that you use

  49. me as a vessel and that you open our

  50. hearts and eyes to hear and see what you

  51. want us to see today. We ask in your

  52. name. Amen.

  53. So reflecting on the last the leadup to

  54. Easter, we we had Palm Sunday where

  55. Jesus rose rode into Jerusalem and on a

  56. donkey and the crowd shouted, "Hosana."

  57. They waved palm branches. Hosanna means

  58. save us. And the people called this out

  59. to Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem. Save

  60. us. Save us. We went as a family this

  61. week to see uh the first two episodes of

  62. The Chosen season five. It was The Last

  63. Supper. um they had it playing at the

  64. cinema and we went and watched that and

  65. it was really poignant like just to see

  66. obviously it's acting um and but just to

  67. see that to see them waving the palm

  68. branches to make it to make the

  69. scripture come alive it was really

  70. powerful

  71. um and you know it just yeah it was it

  72. was really good to see um we reflected

  73. also in the leadup to Easter on the

  74. table where Jesus broke bread and told

  75. them what was going to happen this is my

  76. body broken for you. This is my blood of

  77. the covenant poured out for you. The

  78. symbol of community and hope in him. The

  79. sacrifice that he knew he would make and

  80. the suffering he would face. But he did

  81. it anyway. I really liked how on that

  82. Sunday we sat around tables and

  83. reflected together in community. We

  84. looked at the betrayal. One of his own

  85. disciples who betrayed him in front of

  86. the others for 30 little silver coins.

  87. after following him for three years gave

  88. him up for 30 pieces of silver. The cost

  89. one would pay if their animal was killed

  90. by a slave in those days. Essentially

  91. the cost of a slave. His teacher, his

  92. friend, cast aside. I don't know how I

  93. would have felt knowing as Jesus did

  94. that Judas would do this. Yet he still

  95. washed his feet. The denial. Again, one

  96. of his own disciples who listened to his

  97. teaching for three years was his friend

  98. who denied him on the very day of the

  99. last supper. Denied him that same day.

  100. Jesus knew he would do it not just once

  101. but three times. Yet after he did it,

  102. and when he later asked Jesus

  103. forgiveness, he forgave him. It's

  104. incredible. It's an incredible act of

  105. kindness by Jesus.

  106. We looked at the garden, the garden of

  107. Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed with so

  108. much stress and anguish that his sweat

  109. formed drops of blood. I read this week

  110. that Gethsemane in the Hebrew means oil

  111. press. Jesus, the lamb of God, went to

  112. the place of the oil press. In Bible

  113. times, farmers would collect their

  114. olives and crush them in this trough

  115. with a large heavy stone, allowing the

  116. oil to flow through channels out into

  117. the waiting vessels.

  118. Each pressing of the o of the olives

  119. would produce oil of different values.

  120. The first press was the most valuable,

  121. the purest of oil reserved for anointing

  122. kings. The second press was the oil used

  123. for healing the sick. The third was the

  124. oil that was used for our daily needs

  125. like cooking and for

  126. lamps. It was in this garden of the oil

  127. press that Jesus spent his final hours

  128. before his arrest and crucifixion.

  129. Jesus was falling under the invisible

  130. weight of what was to happen. Sweating

  131. blood from the extreme anguish. Under

  132. this incredible weight, Jesus yielded

  133. pure sacrifice. What began in the Garden

  134. of olives, the garden of the olive press

  135. continued at the cross where Jesus was

  136. crushed for our

  137. redemption. We looked uh on Friday at

  138. the cross where Jesus allowed himself to

  139. be crushed like olives in the press. so

  140. that the oil of salvation could be

  141. spilled for us. Isaiah 53:5 says, "He

    Isaiah 53:5

  142. was pierced for our transgressions. He

  143. was crushed for our iniquities. Upon him

  144. was a chastisement that bought us peace

  145. and with his wounds we are healed."

  146. Hallelujah. He suffered a torturous

  147. death. As he took his last breath, he

  148. said, "It is finished." In the Greek,

  149. the word is telisti.

  150. In Hebrew, this word is nishlam, which

  151. has a much deeper meaning. The meaning

  152. of that word means paid in full. In

  153. Jewish times, when one had a debt, they

  154. would pay off their debt. And when that

  155. debt was paid, the lender would write on

  156. the debt paid in

  157. full. Jesus on the cross let us know

  158. that our debt had been paid in full by

  159. his death. By the last words, he said,

  160. "Paid in full. It is finished."

  161. Through his death, we're reminded that

  162. our sins were forgiven. Our separation

  163. from God is over and we're

  164. restored. Through Jesus action, we can

  165. have eternal

  166. life. So today, I want to look at the

  167. final part of the Easter story, the

  168. resurrection. I want to read some

  169. scripture this morning. And I want to

  170. look at this scripture in two parts. The

  171. empty tomb and when they saw Jesus.

  172. Luke chapter 24 verse 1-8. On the first

    Luke 24:1–8

  173. day of the week, very early in the

  174. morning, the women took spices they had

  175. prepared and went to the tomb. They

  176. found the stone rolled away from the

  177. tomb. But when they entered, they did

  178. not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

  179. While they were wondering about this,

  180. suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed

  181. like lightning stood beside them. In

  182. their fright, the women bowed down their

  183. with their faces to the ground. But the

  184. men said to them, "Why do you look for

  185. the living amongst the dead? He is not

  186. here. He has risen. Remember how he told

  187. you while he was still with you in

  188. Galilee, the Son of Man must be

  189. delivered over to the hands of sinners,

  190. be crucified, and on the third day

  191. raised again. Then they remembered his

  192. words." These women were the first to

  193. know that the tomb was empty and that

  194. their Jesus had risen. They went that

  195. morning to do what duty would have them

  196. do. They had already prepared the spices

  197. to bring. In Luke 23:56, it's recorded

    Luke 23:56

  198. that on the day of Jesus' crucifixion,

  199. the women went home and prepared the

  200. spices and perfumes. They then rested on

  201. the Sabbath, which was the culture of

  202. the day as as a Saturday was the Jewish

  203. custom. In all the gospels, it's

  204. recorded that early on the Sunday

  205. morning, they went to visit the tomb.

  206. Some gospels mention their names. Mary

  207. Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and

  208. Salam. They brought spices to anoint

  209. Jesus' body. In those times, they used

  210. to anoint the body with

  211. spices. It helped to control the smell

  212. of

  213. decomposition. In Jewish culture, Jews

  214. didn't imbalm their dead. You may

  215. remember in John 11 when Jesus went to

  216. Lazarus tomb and he went to have it

  217. opened and Martha objected saying, "By

  218. this time, there's a bad He's been there

  219. for 4 days. So according to the custom,

  220. the women would go after the death and

  221. bring spices to honor the body. And

  222. that's what they did that morning. They

  223. brought these spices to honor Jesus'

  224. body. The very fact that they brought

  225. spices showed that they did not expect

  226. him to have risen from the dead. They

  227. had prepared the traditional spices on

  228. the fi Friday and brought them on the

  229. Sunday. The their main concern was how

  230. will we move this huge stone from the

  231. entrance. The Bible talks about these

  232. women many times through Jesus'

  233. ministry. They went where he went. They

  234. followed and supported his ministry. In

  235. those days, they didn't have KFC or

  236. drive-through restaurants. Everywhere

  237. they went, everywhere they traveled and

  238. stayed, they needed a support crew to

  239. make bread, to cook meals. The Bible

  240. tells us that these women followed Jesus

  241. and supported him. They sat with him.

  242. They listened to him. They were also

  243. disciples of Jesus. They were there at

  244. his crucifixion. They watched him draw

  245. his last breath. The act of devotion

  246. from these women, these faithful

  247. followers is shown in their faithfulness

  248. to go to the tomb and anoint the body

  249. that morning. And due to their

  250. diligence, they became the first

  251. witnesses to the empty tomb and also to

  252. see Jesus alive

  253. again. In Mark 16:6, it says, "Don't be

    Mark 16:6

  254. alarmed." The angel said, "You are

  255. looking for Jesus the Nazarene who was

  256. crucified. He is risen. He's not here.

  257. See the place where they laid him." In

  258. Luke 24:5 and 6, why do you look for the

    Luke 24:5

  259. living amongst the dead? He's not here.

  260. He has

  261. risen. When the women had seen the empty

  262. tomb and later seen Jesus, they told the

  263. disciples a firsthand account of what

  264. they saw. The Bible tells us that the

  265. disciples didn't believe. Simon Peter

  266. even ran to the tomb to see for himself.

  267. He sto saw the strips of linen lying

  268. there. In John 20 6-9, it says, "Simon

  269. Peter arrived and went inside. He also

  270. noticed the linen wrappings lying there.

  271. While the cloth that had covered Jesus'

  272. head was folded up and lying apart from

  273. the other wrappings. Then the disciple

  274. who reached the tomb first also went in

  275. and he saw and he believed for until

  276. that moment they had not understood the

  277. scriptures that had said that Jesus must

  278. rise from the dead. And then they went

  279. back home.

  280. You see, even though they were told,

  281. even though they heard his teachings,

  282. they learned of the prophecies from the

  283. years before, even though they knew,

  284. they didn't believe until they could see

  285. for themselves. They had to see those

  286. strips of cloth laying there empty in

  287. the tomb. They'd been given warning.

  288. They'd been told of what was going to

  289. happen. Yet, they still didn't

  290. believe. Can I ask you the question

  291. then? How do we see

  292. Jesus? We first need to understand the

  293. key truths of the Easter story, the

  294. crucifixion and the resurrection. What

  295. does it mean? What does the Easter story

  296. mean? What does the death and

  297. resurrection of Jesus mean for us

  298. today? In Jewish tradition, like I

  299. mentioned, people would rest on the

  300. Sabbath, the Saturday.

  301. We believe Jesus died on the Friday and

  302. rose on the Sunday. But we have this one

  303. day of pause in between their day of

  304. rest. What would it have been like?

  305. Their teacher, their friend, crucified.

  306. It would have been a day of incredible

  307. sadness, uncertainty as to what would

  308. happen. And then you came to this third

  309. day, the resurrection, Easter Sunday. In

  310. Jewish tradition, the number three is a

  311. symbol of divine perfection. It

  312. signifies

  313. completeness. Many times in the Bible,

  314. you can see God complete his plans. On

  315. the third

  316. act, you think about this. On that

  317. Friday, Jesus, the lamb of God

  318. sacrificed to save the world. The bread

  319. of life placed in a tomb. And on the

  320. third die day to signify completion,

  321. Jesus rose from the grave to bring new

  322. hope and freedom. You see the empty tomb

  323. changes

  324. everything. What does the resurrection

  325. mean? One, it means we have a living

  326. hope. Jesus is alive. He has conquered

  327. death and he is here among us. His

  328. resurrection opens the way of hope and

  329. assures us that injustice, pain, and

  330. death can be overcome. We are surrounded

  331. by signs of new life in the

  332. resurrection.

  333. The apostle Peter tells us, "Praise be

  334. to God and the father of our Lord Jesus

  335. Christ. In his great mercy, he has given

  336. us new birth into a living hope through

  337. the resurrection of Jesus Christ from

  338. the dead. We have a living hope through

  339. the resurrection of Jesus. We no longer

  340. have to fear what is to come because

  341. Jesus resurrected from the dead. As

  342. followers of

  343. Christ, we can have a great hope, a

  344. living hope, not a false hope, not

  345. well-wishes, rather a trustworthy hope

  346. based on faith. We've all been justified

  347. before God. We are no longer his

  348. enemies. We're no longer headed to hell.

  349. It's incredible, isn't it, to imagine

  350. that Jesus agreed to die and rise again

  351. for us, for me, and for you.

  352. By his resurrection, we are justified.

  353. To be justified mean to be put right

  354. with. According to the scripture, all of

  355. us are objects of wroth because we break

  356. God's law and thus deter deserve eternal

  357. death. But God has a glorious and

  358. gracious plan of

  359. redemption. He was delivered over to

  360. death for our sins and raised to life

  361. for our justification.

  362. You see Jesus death on the cross and

  363. resurrection gives us freedom. We are

  364. free and we are forgiven. When we allow

  365. Jesus to be the Lord in our lives, we

  366. can be set free. We can have hope. Jesus

  367. himself said, "Who the son sets free is

  368. free

  369. indeed." Ephesians 1:7 says, "In him we

    Ephesians 1:7

  370. have redemption through this blood, the

  371. forgiveness of our sins."

  372. When he shed his blood for us and rose

  373. again as was promised, he gave us the

  374. gift of forgiveness from our sins and

  375. this gives us hope in a

  376. future. The second thing is that we need

  377. not fear death. The resurrection

  378. defeated death. At the cross, Jesus

  379. defeated death once and for

  380. all. Must have been really hard for his

  381. disciples and believers to see him

  382. betrayed, crucified, and buried in a

  383. tomb.

  384. But Jesus said, "I am the resurrection

  385. and the life. The one who believes in me

  386. will live even though they die. And

  387. whoever lives by believing in me will

  388. never die." And it happened. What he

  389. said was true. Paul tells us the sting

  390. of death is sin and the power of sin is

  391. the law. But thanks be to God, he gives

  392. us victory through our Lord Jesus

  393. Christ.

  394. We have been given victory over death

  395. and sin because of Jesus

  396. resurrection. Death no longer has its

  397. hold on us because Jesus defeated

  398. it. Death is confronting. It's scary. As

  399. a society, many of us fear death. We

  400. seek miracle cures and specialists far

  401. and wide. And I'm not saying that's

  402. wrong. I truly believe God's given men

  403. and women the incredible abilities to

  404. study and learn and treat us. But as a

  405. society, so often we seek answers. We

  406. seek more because we fear the unknown.

  407. We fear death and what is beyond life.

  408. The truth is that with the confidence of

  409. Jesus resurrection, we need no longer

  410. fear death, but face it with confidence

  411. when the time comes. And because we know

  412. that we too will be raised to life with

  413. him in heaven.

  414. Charles Spurgeon, a famous theologian,

  415. spoke of those in his own congregation

  416. who had died. He said, "The very

  417. happiest people I have met have been

  418. departing believers. The only people for

  419. whom I have felt any envy have been

  420. dying members of this very church whose

  421. hands I have held in their passing away

  422. almost without exception. I have seen

  423. them wholly delight and triumph in the

  424. expectations to this. And in the

  425. exceptions to this exceeding joy, I have

  426. seen deep peace exhibited in a calm and

  427. deliberate readiness to enter into the

  428. presence of their

  429. God. Because the Lord Jesus conquers sin

  430. and death through his crucifixion and

  431. resurrection, believers can now face

  432. life and what comes beyond life without

  433. fear or anxiety. They know when the time

  434. comes, they're going home to the

  435. presence of their savior and lord.

  436. The third thing we can learn is that we

  437. have eternal

  438. life. Romans 8:11 says, "The spirit of

    Romans 8:11

  439. him who raised Jesus from the dead is

  440. living in you." The same power, the same

  441. spirit that raised Jesus is alive in us.

  442. That is the promise of Easter. We have

  443. the power now to change lives, to live

  444. transformed lives. There are so many

  445. things that we do in life to try and

  446. live a healthy life to improve our

  447. lives. But the secret is there's no

  448. amount of salad or exercise that can

  449. give you eternal life. When you accept

  450. Christ in your heart, when you believe

  451. in Jesus, believe that he died on the

  452. cross for the forgiveness of our sins

  453. and accept that forgiveness, we have

  454. eternal

  455. life. God laid our punishment on Jesus

  456. on the cross. Why? So that we could be

  457. justified before him.

  458. The resurrection proves that God

  459. accepted Jesus sacrifice for

  460. sin. By placing faith in Jesus death,

  461. burial, and resurrection, we have

  462. eternal life. Through faith in Jesus,

  463. we're not only given eternal life, but

  464. the forgiveness of our

  465. sins made only possible through his

  466. death and resurrection. There is nothing

  467. we could do to merit salvation. Our debt

  468. is paid. It is paid in full by his

  469. precious

  470. blood. In John chapter 8, Jesus says, "A

    John 8 chapter mention

  471. slave has no permanent place in a

  472. family, but a son belongs to it

  473. forever." When we accept Jesus in our

  474. lives, we become a part of his family,

  475. his sons and his daughters, which means

  476. that we belong in his family forever.

  477. Truly

  478. free. Yes, death is the punishment for

  479. sin. but wonderfully because Jesus rose

  480. from the dead. The grave could not hold

  481. him. Death had no control over him.

  482. Therefore, we need not fear death. We

  483. also do not need to fear eternal

  484. punishment because we are truly loved.

  485. God loves us higher, wider, and deeper

  486. than we could possibly

  487. imagine. I want to look at the second

  488. part of the scripture from that morning.

  489. we saw about the empty

  490. tomb. I want to read about when they saw

  491. Jesus. Remember first the women came,

  492. they saw the tomb and then Simon Peter

  493. and the others came. They saw the linen

  494. cloths lying there and they returned

  495. home. The scripture that follows says

  496. this. But Mary stood weeping outside the

  497. tomb. And as she wept, she stooped to

  498. look into the tomb. And she saw two

  499. angels in white sitting where the body

  500. of Jesus had lain, one at the head and

  501. one at the feet. And they said to her,

  502. "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said

  503. to them, "They have taken away my Lord,

  504. and I do not know where they have lain

  505. him." Having said this, she turned

  506. around and saw Jesus standing, but she

  507. did not know that it was

  508. Jesus. Jesus said to her,"Woman, why are

  509. you weeping? Who are you seeking?

  510. supposing him to be the gardener, she

  511. said, "Sir, if you've carried him away,

  512. tell me where you've laid him, and I

  513. will take his body away." Jesus said,

  514. "Mary." She turned to him and in Aramaic

  515. said, "Raboni," which means teacher.

  516. Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to me,

  517. for I have not yet ascended to the

  518. Father, but go to my brothers and say to

  519. them, I am ascending to the Father, to

  520. your Father, my God, and to your God."

  521. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the

  522. disciples, I have seen the Lord, and

  523. that he had seen these said these things

  524. to her. You see, Mary stayed at the

  525. tomb, and she saw Jesus alive first. The

  526. women saw Jesus first. What is the

  527. significance of this? You see, even

  528. after his death and resurrection, he

  529. continued to love and lift up those on

  530. the outside. In a culture where women

  531. were often silenced, Jesus commissioned

  532. a female disciple follower to announce

  533. the resurrection to the other

  534. disciples. Mary Magdalene was a

  535. demon-possessed woman and Jesus rescued

  536. her and she followed him. Mary Magdalene

  537. used a year's wages to buy a perfume

  538. just to wash his feet. Mary Magdalene

  539. became the first person in John's gospel

  540. to call Jesus the Lord. When Jesus

  541. appeared to Mary, she realized it was

  542. him and said, "Raboni," which means

  543. teacher, which revealed that she knew

  544. who he was. She then went to the

  545. disciples and told them, "I have seen

  546. the

  547. Lord." Sometimes it can be hard to

  548. imagine because we can't see it. I'm

  549. sure they thought that too in these

  550. times. You hear those comments, I'll

  551. believe it when I see

  552. it. They saw Jesus do miracles. They

  553. heard Jesus teachings. Both the

  554. disciples and the women and the

  555. crowds. The amazing thing is it's

  556. recorded clearly what the women

  557. saw. They saw the events as Jesus died.

  558. They saw where he was laid in the tomb.

  559. They saw the tomb on the first day of

  560. the week when they went to take spices.

  561. They saw the stone was rolled away. They

  562. saw the young man sitting on the right

  563. side. They saw the empty place where

  564. Jesus' body had

  565. laid. They saw

  566. Jesus. How can we see Jesus? If you're

  567. anything like me, you want to see to

  568. believe. You want to see, you want

  569. proof. And that is what can challenge us

  570. in our faith the most. That is the

  571. uniqueness of the Christian faith. We

  572. are told that we live by faith and not

  573. sight. What then is the secret to seeing

  574. God? 1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us, "For

    1 Corinthians 13:12

  575. now we see in a mirror dimly, but then

  576. face to face. Now I know in part, then I

  577. shall know fully as I have been fully

  578. known.

  579. This verse describes a transition from

  580. partial knowledge to God to full

  581. knowledge and understanding of God. We

  582. will believe by faith and work on our

  583. hearts and our spiritual gifts and our

  584. learning of Christ. Paul writes in

  585. Romans 11:33 and 4. Oh, the depth of the

    Romans 11:33

  586. riches and wisdom and knowledge of God.

  587. How unsearchable are his judgments. How

  588. inscriptable his ways. For who has known

  589. the mind of the

  590. Lord? Jesus himself revealed to us the

  591. secret to seeing God in his sermon on

  592. the mount. In Matthew 5'8, he said,

  593. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they

  594. shall see God." How do we see God? With

  595. a pure heart. The truth is God sees the

  596. real you when he sees you. You don't

  597. have to change yourself to come to him.

  598. You don't have to hide parts of your

  599. story with Jesus. He sees your heart.

  600. All you need to do is come with a pure

  601. heart to him and say, "Lord Jesus, I

  602. want to see you. I want to believe in

  603. you. I want you to come into my heart

  604. and make it pure

  605. again." It's his desire that we see him,

  606. that we find him, that we allow him to

  607. open our spiritual eyes to see and know

  608. him, to be led and guided by him.

  609. In Psalm 73:9, it says, "God is good to

    Psalms 73:9

  610. those who are pure in heart." In 1

  611. Timothy 15, Paul teaches us, "The

  612. purpose of my instruction is that all

  613. believers will be filled with a love

  614. that comes from a pure heart, a clear

  615. conscience, and a genuine faith. Not to

  616. spend time in meaningless discussions

  617. and knowledge of the law, but a true and

  618. pure heart which knows God."

  619. I'd like to ask you all to close your

  620. eyes and just bow your heads for a

  621. moment. You see, the Easter story is an

  622. incredible story of Jesus love and

  623. sacrifice. And I believe Jesus wants us

  624. to see him aresh today with fresh eyes,

  625. a new clean

  626. heart. He wants us to accept the gift

  627. that he so generously gave for us

  628. through his death on the cross.

  629. a forgiveness of our

  630. sins and restoration with

  631. him, a hope and a freedom in

  632. him. If you've drifted away over time or

  633. started to

  634. doubt, maybe you've got too busy to

  635. truly appreciate the sacrifice he made

  636. for your life, the forgiveness of your

  637. sins, the gift of eternal life for you.

  638. I ask you today to ask him again to live

  639. in your

  640. heart, to make your heart pure

  641. again, to give you a sincere faith in

  642. him. As it says in his word that if you

  643. confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus

  644. and believe with your heart that God

  645. raised him from the dead, you will be

  646. saved. Save us today, Lord.

  647. We ask for your

  648. forgiveness. We accept your gift of

  649. eternal life that you so willingly

  650. gave. We ask in your

  651. name.

  652. Amen. As the Easter period comes to a

  653. close this year, I challenge you to

  654. reflect, to search your heart. What does

  655. Easter mean to

  656. you? What can you do to see Jesus in a

  657. new and different way this

  658. year? I want to finish with just one

  659. verse. John

    John 11:25–26

  660. 11:25-26 I am the resurrection and the

  661. life. Whoever believes in me, though he

  662. die, yet shall he live. And everyone who

  663. lives and believes in me shall never

  664. die. He has risen. He is risen indeed.
