  1. God's good, isn't he? He's so good. The

  2. world not so much. Although there is

  3. lots of positive, but God is really

  4. good. And and I've got a message that I

  5. really feel is from God. So hopefully it

  6. will encourage more than just one of

  7. you. It'll encourage me, I'm sure. So

  8. maybe I'm just preaching it to me.

  9. Anyway, I'm going to pray.

  10. Holy Spirit, thank you so much for this

  11. opportunity,

  12. Lord, for each of us to come to this

  13. group of people, God, that just love you

  14. and are trying to do life and are trying

  15. to love others. And Holy Spirit, thank

  16. you that you choose to to dwell in this

  17. bunch of misfits and people that don't

  18. get it right.

  19. God, that you choose to be with us as we

  20. go out into the world and live in our

  21. hearts. Holy Spirit, we're just so

  22. so uh I guess in awe and and honored

  23. that you do that with us, but we we need

  24. you. And I just pray this morning that

  25. you will speak through the words that

  26. I've chosen and God that you would speak

  27. into people's lives in Jesus name. Amen.

  28. Have you ever felt overwhelmed?

  29. I thought you might go, you know, a

  30. couple of you might go, "Oh, yeah."

  31. You know, that feeling, that overwhelm,

  32. that crushing sense of weight that

  33. threatens to squeeze the life out of you

  34. until there's nothing left. So, I'm not

  35. just talking about going to the

  36. supermarket and what peanut butter do I

  37. get? Ben doesn't like that one and he

  38. doesn't like that one and he's and I'm

  39. but I'm trying to be healthy. You know,

  40. he needs to be healthy and I just have

  41. to choose for him. I'm not talking about

  42. that overwhelm, although that is a

  43. thing, I guess. I'm talking about that

  44. feeling of hopelessness

  45. when there when there's a situation in

  46. your life where there's nothing you can

  47. do. You've tried everything and there's

  48. nothing. It's too big. You have no

  49. answers. Now, I've always got an answer

  50. for something as you can ask my family.

  51. I think I need to adjust. There we go.

  52. Bit closer to you, Carrie.

  53. But, you know, um I had one of those

  54. moments a few weeks ago.

  55. Um and I won't go into the situation,

  56. but I felt frustrated. I felt hopeless.

  57. I felt exhausted. I felt overwhelmed. I

  58. just wanted to curl up into a ball and

  59. stop life. And just as I was

  60. experiencing these feelings which you

  61. can all relate to,

  62. it reminded me of a story from the Bible

  63. where these feelings were very present

  64. and it came to me so clearly and I

  65. couldn't shake this um I guess sense of

  66. similarity in this Bible uh story. So I

  67. looked it up and it's a small part of

  68. the story of the Israelites before the

  69. Exodus.

  70. Oh, so everyone knows Abraham, Isaac,

  71. and Jacob, God's chosen. Out of them, he

  72. builds a nation, the Israelites. They do

  73. really great for a while, and then they

  74. end up in Egypt, which is also really

  75. great. But then hundreds of years, I

  76. think it's 400 years, they end up in

  77. slavery and bondage to this Pharaoh,

  78. king of Egypt.

  79. And they're in an um difficult

  80. situation. their slaves treated very

  81. harshly.

  82. But then God speaks to Moses. Everyone

  83. knows the story of Moses.

  84. Speaks to him and said, "You go set my

  85. people free. I'm going to set them free.

  86. You need to go and do it and make it

  87. happen. Lead it." So he goes back to

  88. Egypt and he tells Pharaoh, "Hey, you

  89. need to set God's people free. they need

  90. to go

  91. and not be your slaves anymore. All

  92. right? And of course, Pharaoh does not

  93. go, "Oh, yeah. Okay, no worries." He

  94. goes, "No, that's not going to happen.

  95. These Israelites are too lazy. They're

  96. obviously got time to talk about some

  97. freedom plan. I'm going to make their

  98. job even harder." So, he he he made

  99. their task even harder. He he put

  100. expectations on their daily life that

  101. was impossible for them to fulfill. And

  102. the slave masters well I have watched

  103. Prince of Egypt so I know what happened.

  104. Uh you know they whip them and beat

  105. them. And I'm sure it did happen like

  106. this. They were cruy treated by their

  107. slave masters.

  108. So the Israelites were like what the

  109. flip?

  110. You're meant to be setting us free. This

  111. is worse. This is worse than before. We

  112. We can hardly survive. We We have to

  113. produce and work to such an extent that

  114. it's impossible.

  115. And

  116. they were in a terrible situation. Now

  117. obviously the circumstances of that is

  118. vastly different to what I felt. But the

  119. feelings that story like I just felt a

  120. real connection with the feeling of

  121. hopelessness and despair that they felt.

  122. And in this situation, the Israelites

  123. complain to Moses because he was the one

  124. that caused all the trouble. He went to

  125. Pharaoh. So they go to him and they go,

  126. "Look what's happened. This is horrible.

  127. We're meant to be set free, but oh my

  128. gosh, this is worse than before." And so

  129. what does Moses do? And we're going to

  130. read a scripture in Exodus

  131. 5. We'll just put the right thing up

  132. there.

  133. 5:22 and 23.

  134. We'll get there. Oh, I I think I'm

  135. pressing the wrong button. There we go.

  136. It was my fault. I'm very sorry. Then

  137. Moses went back to the to the Lord

  138. because the Lord told him to do this.

  139. So, that's fair. and protested, "Why

  140. have you brought all this trouble on

  141. your own people? Why did you send me?

  142. Ever since I came to Pharaoh as your

  143. spokesman, he has been even more brutal

  144. to your people, and you have done

  145. nothing to rescue them." Wow. He had a

  146. really good relationship with God.

  147. So, what is God's answer? I was um

  148. intrigued. What did God say as an as a

  149. some support and a solution? And what I

  150. actually found I thought was unexpected.

  151. So this is the next chapter. Exodus

    Exodus 6 chapter mention

  152. chapter 6. God said to Moses, "Now

  153. you'll see what I'll do to Pharaoh. With

  154. a strong hand, he'll send them out free.

  155. With a strong hand, he'll drive them out

  156. of his land." God continues speaking to

  157. Moses, reassuring him, "I am God. I

  158. appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as

  159. the strong God, but by my name God, I am

  160. present. I was not known to them. I also

  161. established my covenant with them to

  162. give them the land of Canaan, the

  163. country in which they lived as

  164. sojourers.

  165. But now I've heard the groanings of the

  166. Israelites whom the Egyptians continue

  167. to enslave, and I've remembered my

  168. covenant.

  169. Therefore, tell the Israelites, "I am

  170. God. I will bring you out from under the

  171. cruel, hard labor of Egypt. I will

  172. rescue you from slavery. I will redeem

  173. you, intervening with great acts of

  174. judgment. I'll take you as my own

  175. people, and I'll be God to you. You'll

  176. know that I am God, your God, who brings

  177. you out from under the cruel, hard labor

  178. of Egypt. I'll bring you into the land

  179. that I promised to give Abraham, Isaac,

  180. and Jacob, and I'll give it to you as

  181. your own country. I am God.

  182. Firstly,

  183. he reassured Moses of what was about to

  184. happen.

  185. He said, "Now you'll see what I'll do to

  186. Pharaoh. With a strong hand, he'll send

  187. them out. with a strong hand, he'll

  188. drive them out of his land. That was the

  189. first thing God did was he he almost

  190. like a prophetic sort of this is what's

  191. going to happen. And then he reminds

  192. Moses of what he's already told him back

  193. at the burning bush. Remember the

  194. burning bush? I'm sure you weren't

  195. there, but you know, Moses is out

  196. looking after some sheep, sees a like a

  197. tree or a bush that's on on fire. it's

  198. not burning up. So he goes, "Oh, this is

  199. unusual." So he goes over and has a look

  200. and God speaks to him and gives him the

  201. commands, tells him, "You need to go and

  202. set my people free." So back then God

  203. told him all this. We we will go back

  204. then in Exodus three. So it's only three

  205. chapters earlier. This is what this is

  206. at the burning bush when God is speaking

  207. to Moses. Then the Lord told him,

  208. "I have certainly seen the oppression of

  209. my people in Egypt. I've heard their

  210. cries of distress because of their harsh

  211. slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their

  212. suffering. So I have come down to rescue

  213. them from the power of the Egyptians and

  214. lead them out of Egypt into their own

  215. fertile and spacious land. It's a land

  216. flowing with milk and honey, the land

  217. where the Canaanites and all the itites

  218. live. Look, the cry of the people of

  219. Israel has reached me and I have seen

  220. how harshly the Egyptians abuse them.

  221. Now go for I'm sending you. You must

  222. lead my people. So this is back then God

  223. when God first speaks to Moses and he

  224. tells them all of this. So go back to

  225. back to when

  226. Moses has gone spoken to Pharaoh.

  227. Everything's really horrible. Go Moses

  228. has gone back to God and said, "What are

  229. you what are you doing?" God reminds him

  230. of what he told him, the promises that

  231. he had given him. And you know, these

  232. promises, and you could spend a whole

  233. message just looking at these because

  234. these are incredible promises. And I

  235. just want to point them out to you. I'm

  236. not going to spend a lot of time on

  237. them, but they're for us as well. I will

  238. bring you out from under the cruel, hard

  239. labor of Egypt.

  240. I will rescue you from slavery.

  241. I will redeem you, intervening with

  242. great acts of judgment.

  243. I will take you as my own people, and

  244. I'll be God to you. You'll know that I

  245. am God,

  246. your God, who brings you out from under

  247. the cruel, hard labor of Egypt,

  248. and I'll bring you into the land that I

  249. promised to give Abraham, Isaac, and

  250. Jacob, and give it to you as your own.

  251. But there's something else in this

  252. passage that I want to focus on. In

  253. chapter six, this passage, when Moses

  254. had come looking for a response to the

  255. overwhelming despair from the

  256. Israelites, God says three times in

  257. these couple of verses, he says these

  258. words, I am God.

  259. You know, this is really significant

  260. because this is only the second time God

  261. has used this phrase in the Bible. The

  262. first time was back in gen in Exodus

    Exodus 3 chapter mention

  263. chapter 3 when he first spoke to Moses

  264. at the burning bush. Here God revealed

  265. his name for the first time in the whole

  266. Bible.

  267. We're going to have a quick look. Exodus

    Exodus 3:14–15

  268. 3:14-15.

  269. This is back at the burning bush. It is

  270. a bit confusing, but God replied to

  271. Moses, "I am who I am. Say to this

  272. people of Israel, I am has sent me to

  273. you.

  274. God also said to Moses, say this to the

  275. people of Israel, Yahweh, the God of

  276. your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the

  277. God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, has sent

  278. me to you. This is my eternal name, my

  279. name to remember for all generations.

  280. Now, God has many names that he is known

  281. by. And I'm sure you all know this. And

  282. they all tell us something about his

  283. character. They don't just appear

  284. randomly in the Bible. God uses them

  285. strategically to reveal something

  286. specific about himself that is needed

  287. for that situation at that time. And

  288. here's just a few of them because I want

  289. you to want you to be encouraged this

  290. morning how incredible God is. Elohim

  291. that that means he is the creator. He is

  292. all powerful. Adoni, he is our Lord, our

  293. master.

  294. El Shadai, God Almighty.

  295. Eljon, the most high God.

  296. Jehovah Gyra, the Lord will provide.

  297. Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is peace.

  298. Jehovah Rafa, the Lord who heals.

  299. And Jehovah Rah, I don't know how you

  300. say that. The Lord is my shepherd. These

  301. are not just nice little names. These

  302. are God's character,

  303. how he is with you.

  304. They reveal who he is. But this passage

  305. in Exodus is significant because it is

  306. here that God first uses the name

  307. Yahweh.

  308. Now Yahweh,

  309. and I am not a theologian, but I'm going

  310. to try and bring some I don't know

  311. understanding.

  312. Yahweh is said to be the proper covenant

  313. name for God and occurs over 6,500 times

  314. in the Bible. I didn't read that. I just

  315. got that off the internet. Sorry.

  316. There's a quote. I've found this article

  317. by a guy called Michael Levra. I'm not

  318. sure how to pronounce his last name.

  319. He's a Presbyterian minister who's

  320. written some books and and just what he

  321. wrote in this article just seemed to

  322. explain everything really well. So, I've

  323. got a few quotes from him. Hopefully,

  324. that's okay. The first one is this.

  325. Yahweh is God's personal name. So

  326. closely identified with his being that

  327. many Orthodox Jews refuse to pronounce

  328. it. Instead, saying Hashem or Adonai to

  329. guard this name of sanctity. And you've

  330. probably heard of that before. A lot of

  331. Orthodox Jews don't even say that name.

  332. Now, I want us to pause for a moment and

  333. remember at what point in human history

  334. did God choose to reveal this covenant

  335. name? He's always been Yahweh, but he

  336. didn't reveal that until this point in

  337. history.

  338. It is a point in history when the

  339. Israelites were in bondage. They had

  340. been slaves for hundreds of years. And

  341. God promises to deliver them. He

  342. actually promised it way back when um he

  343. first told Abraham that he was going to

  344. make a nation out of them. It had been

  345. promised that they would live in

  346. blessing and freedom. But here they are

  347. at the pointy end of this actually

  348. happening. And it just when it looks

  349. like they're going to be freed when the

  350. deliverer Moses has appeared,

  351. their daily life conditions worsen.

  352. When they start making noise to their

  353. oppressors about having this freedom

  354. that God promised,

  355. their slave master, their ruler, the

  356. holder of their chains, made their life

  357. even worse. In this seemingly hopeless

  358. situation, God tells them something new.

  359. He says, "I am

  360. Yahweh."

  361. There is something about this revelation

  362. of God that is lifechanging. and

  363. something in this little name. I mean,

  364. in this little statement and this name

  365. that was the answer to the Israelites.

  366. And I think there's something there for

  367. us.

  368. If we look at the original Hebrew, these

  369. words imply a couple of things. And I do

  370. want to touch on this because it just

  371. I'm hoping we can take this and begin to

  372. understand who God is in our life.

  373. The words I am. Firstly,

  374. if you look into the grammar, I suppose

  375. that the meaning of these words, they

  376. blatantly pronounce that God exists and

  377. that he's always existed. And there's a

  378. lot of um research and I don't know

  379. theological whatevers that this talks

  380. about his existence that he's all he has

  381. no beginning. In fact, I've got that I

  382. think.

  383. No, that's not it. Ignore that. Michael

  384. Le Fever, he says he has no beginning,

  385. does not depend for a continued

  386. existence on anything other than his own

  387. self. A Dutch theologian, Herman Bavink,

  388. he says God is independent, all

  389. sufficient in himself and the only

  390. source of all existence and life. Yahweh

  391. is the name that describes this essence

  392. and identity. Most clearly his name is

  393. being. So this name I am, this name

  394. Yahweh, that implies God has always

  395. existed. He is the He is his own life

  396. source. And I'm not going to go into all

  397. of that. You can talk to Ben about that

  398. because he's, you know, the pastor, but

  399. these words also imply a further meaning

  400. which I discovered which is awesome. In

  401. the same article, Michael Lever goes on

  402. to explain that this isn't just saying

  403. that a thing is or that it exists. It's

  404. saying there is a manifestation or an

  405. expression of this thing

  406. to state there was. So it's using the

  407. word the word was which is the same type

  408. of thing as am. There was light in

  409. Genesis is to announce the manifestation

  410. not just the existence of light. To say

  411. the Lord hurled a great wind upon the

  412. sea and there was a mighty tempest in

  413. Jonah is to announce the appearance of a

  414. storm as a result of God's wind. The

  415. word was in these instances isn't just

  416. saying light and wind ex exist, but that

  417. there was a manifestation of light and

  418. wind. Does that make sense? It's not

  419. just going God's there. I am. He he he

  420. is he exists. It is saying his

  421. manifestation. He begins to show

  422. himself. We discover who who he is.

  423. And in the Hebrew language, so in in our

  424. English language was means it's just

  425. there. But in the Hebrew, it means a lot

  426. more.

  427. One more little technical thing. The

  428. Hebrew being verb ha or whatever is not

  429. the abstract um is not the abstract

  430. Greek to be the mere existence per se.

  431. To the Hebrew to be does not just mean

  432. to exist but to be active to express

  433. oneself in active being. Does this all

  434. make sense? It's all a bit complicated.

  435. In the name Yahweh, God made himself

  436. known as a present being present with

  437. and for his people.

  438. And wherever God's presence is invoked,

  439. that announcement is pregnant with the

  440. certainty of his attention, his care,

  441. his power, and his grace. Now, I've

  442. labored on this

  443. because it's incredible. When God says,

  444. "I am," he's not just saying, "I am the

  445. incredible God."

  446. He's He wants to be in your life. He

  447. wants to be his presence wants to he

  448. wants to embody his presence in your

  449. life here, right now. And it's not just

  450. that, but it's all that he is and

  451. everything that he represents. And

  452. honestly, I don't think our minds really

  453. understand.

  454. But for the Israelites, this meant God

  455. went on to set them free from their

  456. bondage with incredible acts of power

  457. and continue to provide for them in

  458. myriads of ways as they journey to the

  459. promised land. And then they lived there

  460. for centuries.

  461. So what does this actually mean for us,

  462. for me? Does that all make sense about

  463. God?

  464. And I couldn't help but see some

  465. similarities for us in this story. The

  466. thing that the I guess the thing that

  467. just glared at me is the Exodus. The

  468. whole story of the Exodus. And if you've

  469. not read it or if you haven't read it

  470. for ages, I just encourage you to just

  471. read read Exodus all about how God sets

  472. them free because the Exodus is our is a

  473. picture of our freedom walk. It is

  474. symbolic of us and how God wants to set

  475. us free. We are all captive to

  476. something. We find ourselves doing and

  477. thinking things we don't want to.

  478. You know, it's interesting because even

  479. when the for us to have a look at the

  480. Israelites, we go, well, they are

  481. slaves. It's obviously they're in

  482. bondage. But, you know, even when they

  483. were set free, they complained. if they

  484. wanted to go back because sometimes the

  485. familiar the devil you know sometimes

  486. the familiar I've got an okay life I've

  487. worked through some stuff and yeah I've

  488. got a few battles but that's okay

  489. sometimes that is more is more

  490. comfortable and we don't want to be set

  491. free even though in our heads we might

  492. think we do and the Israelites were like

  493. that a whole heap of them they wanted to

  494. go back

  495. behave sometimes we behave in a way that

  496. we know is not good for us, but we're

  497. compelled to by some other force. And of

  498. course, we all would be familiar with

  499. this passage in Romans when this is the

  500. New Testament when Paul says, "So the

  501. trouble is not with the law, for it is

  502. spiritual and good. The trouble is with

  503. me, for I am all too human, a slave to

  504. sin. I don't really understand myself,

  505. for I want to do what is right, but I

  506. don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

  507. But if I know that what I'm doing is

  508. wrong, this shows that I agree that the

  509. law is good. So I'm not the I'm not the

  510. one doing it. It is sin living in me.

  511. And I know that nothing good lives in

  512. me. That is my sinful nature. I want to

  513. do what is right, but I can't. I want to

  514. do what is good, but I don't. I don't

  515. want to do what is wrong, but I do it

  516. anyway. But if I do what I don't want to

  517. do, I'm not really the one doing it. It

  518. is it is sin living in me that does it.

  519. Can anyone relate to that?

  520. In one way or another, we are held

  521. captive. I know I am. I feel

  522. restrictions and behaviors that I try to

  523. change,

  524. but I don't seem to be able to or I

  525. change them for a while and then I just

  526. go back.

  527. Sometimes I feel exactly like Paul in

  528. this passage, doing things and

  529. responding in a way that I know I

  530. shouldn't, in a way that is hurtful to

  531. other the relationships and in a way

  532. that hurts myself in my daily life. And

  533. I don't want to be like this anymore.

  534. And as I as I was preparing this

  535. message, it all this all seemed to tie

  536. into God's ultimate God's ultimate

  537. purpose for mankind. And I just want to

  538. give you a quick snapshot. Before the

  539. fall, go back to Adam and Eve. God lived

  540. with mankind. He walked in the garden.

  541. There was no separation.

  542. Then after the fall, but before ex

  543. before this Exodus, God only met with

  544. certain individuals in scattered

  545. recorded events.

  546. But then after the Exodus, you know what

  547. happens? They eventually establish a

  548. tabernacle which was a tent where

  549. God would come and meet with the

  550. children of Israel. He would actually

  551. his presence would embody the temple. I

  552. mean the tabernacle. And there's you

  553. read it in Exodus. There's incredible

  554. moments when God's presence comes and

  555. descends on the tabernacle and people

  556. can't even stand be

  557. before him.

  558. And then when they children of Israel

  559. finally arrive in the promised land and

  560. they live there for a bit, what do they

  561. build there?

  562. Temple. They build a temple. A beautiful

  563. temple which has got so much gold in it.

  564. Read Leviticus honestly. And what

  565. happens in that place? God embodies the

  566. temple. His presence comes to the

  567. temple. his actual embodied presence.

  568. So Jesus comes, he dies and resurrects.

  569. What happens now?

  570. Where does God embody? Where does he

  571. come down?

  572. Anyone

  573. >> in us? The Holy Spirit. We don't need a

  574. temple. We don't need a tabernacle. We

  575. don't need the garden. God teaches he

  576. his presence embodies us. The temple our

  577. bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit

  578. and God's name I am going back to that

  579. contains within it this concept of God's

  580. presence in and around us literally

  581. being with us as we do life. And I guess

  582. I want to settle that to say this that

  583. God's plan for our lives has and always

  584. will be closeness of relationship. He

  585. wants to be close to us. He wanted it

  586. with the Israelites.

  587. So he established the tabernacle and the

  588. temple. And he wants it with us, the

  589. Holy Spirit. You know, this is the this

  590. is the mic drop moment when God had to

  591. set Israel free because he could never

  592. live closely with them when they were in

  593. bondage to some other ruler. When they

  594. lived in captivity and served someone

  595. else's agenda, he couldn't have the

  596. closeness of relationship with them that

  597. he wanted. And he wants closeness of

  598. relationship with you that you will

  599. never fully experience while you

  600. remained in bondage and captivity.

  601. You know, back to the beginning, this

  602. overwhelmed feeling

  603. for the Israelites as a result of us of

  604. of their slave master. For us, it's as a

  605. result of life or whatever situation is

  606. demanding more from us that we can give.

  607. God's answer to this is I am.

  608. God manifest in your life, setting you

  609. free and fulfilling his promises to you.

  610. Remember his promises.

  611. I will bring I don't know if I've got

  612. them.

  613. I will bring you out

  614. from under cruel rule. Does anyone ever

  615. feel like life's just hard and harsh and

  616. cruel?

  617. I will rescue you from slavery. God,

  618. this is God's promise to each one of

  619. you. I will redeem you. That is the

  620. whole redemption story where Jesus came

  621. and died so that you wouldn't be a slave

  622. to sin, set you free. His resurrection

  623. means that he has redeemed you eternity

  624. with God. I will take you as my own

  625. people and be your God. That is an

  626. incredible promise.

  627. To be your father, to be your friend, to

  628. be your lover, to be your companion,

  629. your comforter, your support,

  630. your shepherd. These are all promises

  631. that are so true.

  632. And I'll bring you into the land I

  633. promised and give it to you. You know,

  634. it is so easy for us to just accept what

  635. we have because we're in Australia. It's

  636. pretty good. Why am I complaining? I

  637. don't have any problems. It's okay. But

  638. God wants more for your life. There is a

  639. level of peace and love and joy that we

  640. often don't experience. That is the

  641. promised land for us. God might not

  642. change your circumstances. He might not

  643. make you a millionaire and and have no

  644. no health issues, but he promises to

  645. give you peace. That means that you can

  646. get up in the morning and smile and be

  647. grateful. He promises to give you joy,

  648. strength, comfort, direction. These are

  649. God's promises. And if you are not

  650. experiencing them, there is more in God

  651. for you. More in God. Just his name. I

  652. am Jehovah.

  653. Sometimes I think because we live after

  654. the cross, we've forgotten all the the

  655. the the wonder and the awe and the the

  656. unspeakable incredibleness of God

  657. because we have grace and it's so easy

  658. to just live life. But I want to

  659. encourage you this morning. These words

  660. still apply to us.

  661. He hasn't changed his mind. He wants

  662. close relationship with each of us. You

  663. know, there are no clear answers to

  664. those overwhelming situations. And I

  665. would love more than anything for every

  666. difficult situation to go, "Well, if you

  667. do this and this, it it'll all be

  668. fixed." But there's no there's no

  669. answers like that. But God promises to

  670. embody your life and walk with you and

  671. encourage you and help you.

  672. God is present for you to discover. Not

  673. for Ben to discover and tell you all

  674. about him, but for you to discover for

  675. yourself.

  676. To seek out and find out who he really

  677. is. And I'm really sorry, but you have

  678. to do that. There's a scripture in

  679. Jeremiah,

  680. you will seek me and find me when you

  681. seek me with all your heart. You you

  682. doesn't matter how old, how young,

  683. doesn't matter your situation, your

  684. past, your health. You have to find God.

  685. But he is easy to find. He says, "If you

  686. if you seek for me, you will find me."

  687. To seek and find out, to encounter his

  688. manifest presence, it is not just empty

  689. words.

  690. to discover I am in your life because it

  691. will look different than I am in my

  692. life. There's this I think I've

  693. mentioned this song before. It's by Abby

  694. Gamboa, but there's a line in it which I

  695. just love.

  696. You hide things talking about God. You

  697. hide things for me to discover. There's

  698. secrets just two lovers know. You know,

  699. there are things I know about Ben that

  700. you guys hopefully will never know.

  701. You do not know.

  702. But I know them because we're close.

  703. Because we spend time together. The ups

  704. and downs, the good, the bad.

  705. God's the same. You can read about him

  706. in a book or listen to a sermon or talk

  707. to someone and that can inspire you and

  708. encourage you, but God wants you to

  709. discover him. Like two lovers discover

  710. each other at a level that no one else

  711. can. You and God. You and God. I can't

  712. say this enough. You and God. You and

  713. God. And I know that I have got so much

  714. more to discover from him.

  715. You know one thing.

  716. I hope that when I get to eternity,

  717. maybe I'll die or maybe the rapture if

  718. you still believe in that or I don't

  719. know. But I hope when I one day when I

  720. see Jesus face to face, I hope that I

  721. don't go, "Oh, that's what he's like." I

  722. hope that I go, "Ah, Jesus, I know you."

  723. And I want to ask that to you. Do you

  724. really know Jesus? Do you really know?

  725. You know that you know when you get a

  726. phone call if if Ben's away and he's

  727. been away for a few days and he rings me

  728. and I hear his voice and I just I know

  729. him. Am I going to be like that with

  730. Jesus, with God the Father? Am I going

  731. to go, I know this?

  732. You know, the overwhelm is not a sign to

  733. pull back. Sometimes we do need to use

  734. wisdom and change some things in uh

  735. life. But that deep overwhelm when

  736. there's things you can't change, things

  737. you can't do and you just want to give

  738. up, that is a sign to draw closer to

  739. God. When you feel discouraged and it's

  740. all too hard, it's a it's a sign to

  741. discover Yahweh I am for yourself.

  742. Thank you.
