Welcome to the Cross Power Church podcast.
-
You're listening to a service from our church in Campbell, TX.
-
We pray this message strengthens your faith and points you to the
-
cross. Now let's join the service.
-
Want to preach to you about something today?
-
I kind of been on a series of this last three messages that
-
started at the biker rally. I preached on along these lines
-
and I guess it's kind of what led me into full time ministry
-
or pastoring a church is I had, as many of you know, I had a a
-
buck out ministry, buck bulls and horses and LED a lot of kids
-
to to Christ. And I set back over a period of
-
a few years and I've seen a lot of people save, but not a lot of
-
change in their life. And I've read nowhere in the
-
Bible that when we're saved, when we're born again, and you
-
know, it's not even really mentioned.
-
Saved, as I've said, is the ultimate goal to be saved from
-
from the tribulation period, from the wrath of God that's
-
coming upon this earth. That's the ultimate goal.
-
But right now we are not saved. We're born again.
-
We're living in a world where there's people that act
-
different than us. Hello.
-
And that we're even living in a world where the church acts
-
different than the church down the street.
-
And it's kind of confusing to a lot of people.
-
I want to clear some of this stuff up today.
-
And, and this message here, I'm going to tell you if you'll take
-
notes. I put it together over a lot of
-
years. If you'll listen today and let
-
it get in your spirit, it will change your life.
-
Amen. And I just want to, I just want
-
to share that and, and go over some things here, But we're
-
going to begin reading Second Corinthians chapter 5.
2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention
-
It's always amazed me in verse 17 of Second Corinthians chapter
2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention
-
5. Let's stand in the reading of
-
the word this morning preached on this little scripture here a
-
couple weeks now, but it, it's always grabbed my spirit when I
-
read it. It's always intrigued my mind
-
when I read it. The apostle Paul, he said here
-
in Second Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 17.
2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention
-
He says, therefore, if anyone, I love that we like to tell God
-
where we come from, what we've been, what we've done and why he
-
can't make us be a born again child of his.
-
It doesn't matter. He said if anyone is in Christ.
-
I preached on that Wednesday night of what it is to be in
-
Christ. It means to set, to wait.
-
The word in, in the Hebrew and Greek means a little deeper than
-
that. It means that you're walking
-
toward a destination. Can I get a witness this
-
morning? Therefore, if anyone is in
-
Christ and he's walking toward a destination called heaven, I
-
love what it says right here. And yes, sometimes it's hard,
-
but Paul says if you're in Christ, if you know Christ, he
-
said that you're a new creation. To be a new creation, some old
-
things have to pass away. That's where we get it.
-
That's where the Christian gets worried.
-
What's God going to take away what I got to quit doing?
-
What's it going to cost me? I can promise you, whatever it
-
cost you, he's going to replace it with something that your eyes
-
not seen, your ears not heard, and the glory has not even been
-
revealed to a man of what God can do in your life.
-
So just let him replace it. Let him take it away.
-
But the Christian walks around on earth a long time not letting
-
these old things pass away. Therefore there's no room for
-
the new. He said this, He said, behold,
-
all things have become new. Can I read that again in its
-
entirety? Therefore, if anyone is in
-
Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away.
-
Boy, there's a red flag for. A lot of people.
-
Behold, all things have become new.
-
Father, we thank You for Your word today.
-
Pray for the anointing to preach Your word once again.
-
I pray for those that are battling with the old things as
-
we all are. Father, that You would make all
-
things new to us today. That You'd make this word new to
-
us today, Father. That you would make just a new
-
life, a new creation within us with a expectation of the coming
-
of the Lord Jesus Christ to take those that are born again, those
-
that are ready to meet the Lord and set down at the marriage
-
supper of the Lamb. That you would just help us to
-
know we're a new creation this morning.
-
It's in your Son's name. We ask and pray, Amen.
-
As I've preached this many times before, I'm a preacher that
-
believes if we're born again, there should be something
-
different about us. We're in the world, but we're
-
not out of the world. But as many find out, come on
-
y'all preach with me this morning as many find out and I
-
got tired of leaving people at salvation.
-
A lot of preachers leave them at salvation and pat them on the
-
back. Tell them you got everything you
-
need. Just go, just go.
-
You know what you finna do? You finna go out and get your
-
tail kicked by an enemy because the enemy knows all the tricks.
-
He knows the word that the new believer that just received
-
salvation does not know. He knows how to throw a
-
roadblock up in you, in your path before you can ever grasp
-
and before it ever falls upon good ground.
-
So I want to teach this morning on how to how do we become this
-
new creation? Anybody wants something new in
-
their life? Look at your neighbor.
-
Say I want something new in my life.
-
Look at your other neighbor that didn't get it.
-
But if many find out, it's salvation.
-
And can I say this, even after water baptism, we want a big
-
trophy on our shelf. Oh, I've been baptized.
-
That's a good thing. But was there a change?
-
Did something happen? Did the old man or woman that
-
you were seem to just totally die at water baptism?
-
I felt like a fire was started and I felt like there was two
-
things fighting inside of me that I never felt before.
-
How about you? I felt like there was a war that
-
was started. It would be really cool if God
-
just snapped his fingers and the old man was instantly dead.
-
And all the cravings and the lustful things that we walked
-
through in this life and the addictions and the mouth that
-
just spouts off when it shouldn't.
-
And Amen, it'd be cool if all that stuff was just gone.
-
But I give you a heavy Ravi this morning.
-
It's not, It's still in the body of Christ.
-
It's still in the church. It's still in the hearts of many
-
believers because they haven't let the old things pass away.
-
Oh, I feel his glory this morning and let all things
-
become new. Just as we developed the worldly
-
habits, you know, the habits that we have, the habits that
-
that kill a lot of people on a daily basis.
-
The old things that we held on to see, they didn't just come up
-
on you. You had to develop them.
-
Hello how many remembers the first part day they went to
-
thought it was going to be a party but it wrecked the rest of
-
their life. How many remembers those things
-
We had to develop those habits. So why wouldn't we have to
-
develop the new created spirit that God has placed within us
-
because we all can agree that it didn't just change.
-
You had a knowledge of who you was, the Holy Spirit come in,
-
and it convicted your being of sin.
-
And you knew that something about the person that you used
-
to be was a little bit messed up and it was a little bit wrong.
-
And I wasn't supposed to act. I'm not supposed to act that way
-
yet. But I find people that that can
-
justify it. I find preachers that can
-
justify it. And we start another convention
-
church over here that it's OK to do and we pat on the back.
-
It's happening everywhere, everywhere.
-
I get calls from old friends attending churches that got big
-
churches and big buildings and big problems.
-
But we have to develop our recreated human spirit.
-
It would be great, as I said, if God snapped his fingers and we
-
were automatically Christ like. But we can agree that's not
-
true. But the truth is God helps us
-
with the great Helper, with the great Helper, with the great
-
helper, the Holy Ghost. And in Genesis 1 and 27 it says
-
that we were created in the image of God.
-
Isn't that cool to know that you were created in the image of
-
God? But seeing entered in and
-
separated us from God. So when we're born again and
-
we're reconciled with God, we must develop the Spirit, the new
-
Spirit that God has placed within us.
-
And to do so, we must do one thing.
-
As Galatians chapter 5 and verse 22 through 25 says, we have to
Galatians 5 chapter mention
-
look at the fruit. I'm not sure if a lot of
-
Christians ever look at the fruit.
-
Can I tell you, the unbeliever, the one that you professing to
-
know Jesus in front of the one that knows that you read
-
scripture or maybe you send scripture.
-
Can I tell you, come on, somebody, they're looking at
-
your life today and they're expect, they're looking at what
-
kind of fruits hanging off of you.
-
And the problem is most Christians tell them that I'm an
-
apple tree, but they look at you and they see big bananas hanging
-
off of your tree and they know that you're professing a lie
-
because you ain't no apple tree. You're a big old banana tree,
-
right? But we think that they're dumb.
-
Hey, man, we think that they can't see that.
-
Why? Because we're not a new creation
-
yet. We have to work on it.
-
So what do we look at? See the the fruit.
-
There's only one way the Bible says that you will not be the
-
lustful ignorant. Can I just preach it this
-
morning, dumb person you was when you were living in sin and
-
you were blinded to the things of God.
-
The Bible says there's only one way you're going to get out of
-
that life. There's only one way.
-
That is to walk in the Spirit that you will not fulfill the
-
lust of the flesh. That's the only way to walk in
-
the Spirit. And how do we do that?
-
I preached that last week about walking in.
-
So if we're walking in the Spirit, what is what does the
-
Spirit do? In Galatians 5 and 22, it says
-
the fruit of the Spirit is love. That's the number one thing I
-
want to preach to you about today is love.
-
God is love. So it's pretty important to
-
preach about what God is. If you want to know God, right?
-
God is love, but the fruit of the spirit is love.
-
It's joy, it's peace, long-suffering, kindness,
-
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against
-
such. There's no law, there's no wrong
-
in those things. I read you the next verse says
-
that in those who are Christ. Here's a key have crucified the
-
flesh with its passions and its desires.
-
The apostle Paul said in Galatians 220.
-
He said I have been crucified with Christ.
-
It's no longer I who live, but it's Christ who lives within me
-
and the life that I now live. I live through the Son of God
-
who loved me and gave his life for me.
-
Y'all staying with me this morning?
-
So to produce fruit, the first thing I got to do is to walk in
-
love. Say that with me.
-
Walk in love. I've got to walk in love.
-
There's a lot here, but we must practice it every day because
-
God is love. And to develop our recreated
-
human spirit we must walk in love.
-
Because in in first John 4 and 18 it says there is No Fear in
-
love, but perfect love cast out all fear because fear has
-
torment. He that feareth is not made
-
perfect in love. We love Him because He first
-
loved us. We must learn to walk in love.
-
You will never lead anybody to Christ hitting them over the
-
head with the Bible and not loving them.
-
I have found the greatest way to lead people to Christ is love
-
them while they're sinners, Amen.
-
Shake them a little bit and and every now and then drop some
-
words in their spirit. But most all you got to love
-
them. Amen.
-
You got to love them because God is love to produce fruit.
-
We have to walk in love, love God and love your neighbor.
-
The second thing we must do this is a hard one.
-
I know Christians that battle it on a daily basis.
-
I know preachers that battle it on a daily basis is to give the
-
Word first place in your life. If I've heard it once, I've
-
heard it 1000 times. I know the Bible says that, but
-
I know the Bible. But there's no butts in it.
-
There's no butts in it. We have to if we're going to
-
produce fruit that God speaks of there.
-
And there were some hard fruit to produce. long-suffering,
-
patience, kindness, gentleness. You know, we can't even get it
-
right with one person in our life.
-
Most of the time we're in an 80% divorce bracket, divorce
-
brackets. Now two people.
-
Think about it, how you going to go out and get it right with a
-
bunch of people when two people walk and preach right here when
-
two people? Can't even get it right most of
-
the time. We have to walk in love,
-
long-suffering, patience, gentleness, kindness, and it's
-
hard sometimes. You just got to have a meltdown
-
within. Hey man, you know it's better to
-
just stop. It's better to let it all just
-
and just, you know, let it out like that because you need to,
-
if you, if you're hurt, if you're broken this morning, the
-
greatest thing you can do is hush until you heal.
-
Because all you do is separate yourself from other people.
-
And the first thing they do is I thought you, I thought you.
-
The world loves to say I thought you.
-
I thought you, I thought you was a Christian.
-
Anybody ever heard that? That's reflecting failure in US.
-
I've heard it. It's reflecting failure in US.
-
How do we do this? Give the Word first place in our
-
lives. Psalms 138, verse 2.
-
The psalmist said, I will worship toward your holy temple,
-
and I will praise your name for your loving kindness and your
-
trust or your truth, For you have magnified.
-
Think about this, you have magnified, Jesus has the name
-
above all names. But the psalmist says here, for
-
you have magnified your word above all your name.
-
Jesus knew that the word was the only thing above his name,
-
right? He was the word, but he went to
-
the word before he used. He could have prayed in his own
-
name, but he went to what is written to defeat the enemy.
-
He went to what was already written to produce fruit, right?
-
In Proverbs 3, five and seven, it says trust in the Lord.
-
Say it with me with all your heart and lean not on your own
-
understanding, but in all of your ways.
-
We love to leave that first part out and go to the comma down
-
there. In all your ways.
-
Acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
-
Not true if you're not leaning, not on your own understanding,
-
but in all your ways. He says do not be wise in your
-
own eyes. Fear the Lord, depart from evil
-
and it will be health to your flesh and strength to your
-
bones. We must develop a recreated
-
human spirit. We must put the Word first place
-
in our life. It will bring blessings and not
-
cursing to our life. See, the spirit of the man is
-
the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts
-
of the belly. We must learn to obey #3 Y'all
-
ready for this? We must learn to obey the voice
-
of the Spirit. I lost a lot of people right
-
there because a lot of people say God don't speak to them.
-
You know when people say God don't speak to them?
-
You know what I say? I say you're not reading your
-
Bible. That's how God chooses to speak
-
to us. It's through His written word.
-
He wrote it through through anointed people.
-
We must learn to obey the voice of the Spirit.
-
Proverbs 20 and 27, it says the spirit of man is the lamp of the
-
Lord searching all the inner depths of the heart.
-
Man can only have contact with God through spirit, right,
-
because he can't approach us not till we have a glorified body.
-
But if, if you're only trying to seek God in the flesh and the
-
things that you can see, taste, touch and feel, you'll be
-
greatly disappointed. You can feel the spirit.
-
Many gets the clothes, They can even taste the spirit.
-
But see, the spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord searching
-
all the inner depths. And John 16 and verse 13, he
-
gives a great passage. We're going to read a little bit
-
here. Let's go to John 16.
-
He gives a great way here to do this.
-
We must learn to obey the voice. Say it with me of the Spirit,
-
and maybe you're stuck in the realm.
-
Well, the the Spirit doesn't speak to me.
-
Sure it does. If we listen.
-
It says. However, in John 16 and 13 here
-
it says, however, when he, the third member of the Godhead, the
-
Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you in all truth.
-
I believe the Christian ought to know all truth.
-
I believe if we're in Christ Jesus, and I believe if we
-
develop our spirit and what I believe if we read this Bible, I
-
don't see why any churches should disagree.
-
I may not operate in the gifts you operate in.
-
You may not operate in the gifts I operate in, but they're still
-
gifts and they're still there, and they will still be bestowed
-
upon who God chooses to. And until He does, I don't need
-
to worry about what gift you got, and you ain't need to worry
-
about what gift I got. We just need to obey the voice
-
of the Spirit, and we could all be one big church.
-
There will be no financial burdens.
-
God could set His Kingdom up on this earth, but sadly that does
-
not happen. There's no way we could read
-
this word and come up with all the different denominations.
-
Where we come up with the denominations is we.
-
Don't want to create. We don't want to recreate.
-
The human spirit. We want to recreate a lifestyle
-
that everybody says it's OK to do what the Bible says not to
-
do. And then we can feel good and we
-
can feel like we're going to heaven and we don't have to hear
-
a short, slobbering, screaming preacher tell us we might go to
-
hell. Hey man, it's a whole lot
-
easier. I love.
-
To wake up in the morning, God speaks something to me and I
-
feel condemned about it. And God begins to.
-
Tell me you did this. Yesterday and you did it
-
yesterday. And I can say, Oh no, there's no
-
condemnation in Christ Jesus. That ain't God telling me that.
-
No, I know what I did and I know it wasn't what the word of God
-
wants me to do. So I when I feel that little,
-
that little I have to say there is no condemnation.
-
I got to get back over here in Christ Jesus and I got to repent
-
for what I did and I got to realize, woe is me, God, would
-
you forgive me? And then I got to figure out how
-
to never be back there again when I can never figure out how
-
to, when I can figure out how to never be back there again,
-
because it's not just going to go away.
-
You got to figure out how to overcome, right?
-
He said, I come that you might have life more abundantly, that
-
you might be an overcomer in Christ Jesus.
-
I got to figure out how to overcome.
-
How do I do it? I recreate my spirit because I
-
have the spirit of truth will bring me into all truth.
-
For he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he
-
hears, he will speak, and he will tell you things to come.
-
It's a good way to get over it, right?
-
That's why I need to create my spirit to where the Holy Spirit
-
can live within me and He can tell me the things to come.
-
He will glorify me, for He will take, Can you imagine taking of
-
what is Christ, what is mine? Jesus said.
-
And the Holy Spirit's going to declare it to you see, Jesus
-
separates himself here and and and people get hung up.
-
It is a try you and Godhead, but they have different areas of
-
ministry that they minister to us in.
-
Jesus came and hung on the cross and and and made eternal life
-
possible. He said, I forgive your sin, but
-
we have a lot of people crying out to Christ and and trying to
-
give him that he don't want your sin.
-
He forgive your sin. He said it's finished.
-
He said I can no longer come back down there and and commune
-
with you, but you feel the pulling of me.
-
But I'm going to go and I'm going to sit at the right hand
-
of the Father. And because I'm there, I'm going
-
to send the helper back to you to bring you in truth and
-
knowledge and he's going to teach you how to overcome your
-
sin and that you can be created in the image of me.
-
But you got to develop it. You've got the helper.
-
All things that the Father has are mine.
-
Therefore I said that he will take of what is mine and he will
-
give it to you. Isn't that a powerful word from
-
Christ this morning? He will give us the authority.
-
But see, somebody's hung up on this.
-
Well, I just don't hear from God.
-
Listen because he speaks. He says my sheep will know my
-
voice. We have God's voice in the
-
natural written word of God. And I've said this many times,
-
if God spoke in the natural, in the audible voice of God that so
-
many long to hear, You know, we click on so many things.
-
We we click on something and somebody takes an AR and walks
-
in a church or in a school and they just go to shooting like
-
they're in a war zone. We read the post of it.
-
Not much emotion went out. It happened yesterday.
-
Not much emotion goes out, not not much prayer goes out.
-
It's just something that happens anymore.
-
We become that way with sin. Oh, it happened, but it's just
-
no, we need to learn to hate it. We need to learn to hate evil.
-
Amen. We need to learn to hate evil.
-
But yet we become so used to it, so accepting of it.
-
If God spoke in the natural realm, if we was all out working
-
with cows one day and we heard the voice that said walk in my
-
way and do not sin. And people would listen, they
-
would hear it. But most of the people I know,
-
two days from now, they would forget.
-
It wouldn't really change them. Let's see what Jesus said about
-
that. If I can hear the audible voice
-
of God in the United States of America, John chapter 12, verse
-
21, If we could just hear the audible voice, if God would just
-
do something. I challenge you, don't limit God
-
like that. He's already done it.
-
If he never does anything else again, I'm going to serve him.
-
How about you? If he never if, if, if, if
-
everything in my life fell apart.
-
He's still God. He's still got the answer.
-
God doesn't need me, I need God. Don't limit God by saying if.
-
He would just speak because it's happened.
-
In John chapter 12, as we back up, we read Jesus taught on this
John 12 chapter mention
-
one day He was talking about the fruitful grain of wheat.
-
And in verse 22 of John chapter 12, Philip came and told Andrew
John 12 chapter mention
-
and in turn Andrew told Philip and he told Jesus there was some
-
people that there was a certain Greeks among them that wanted to
-
come and they wanted to worship, they wanted to see Jesus.
-
But Jesus said the hour has come that the Son of Man should be
-
glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you,
-
unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it
-
remains alone. But if it dies, it produces much
-
grain. There it is again about being
-
born again, about the new creation.
-
It's got to die to be a new creation.
-
He who loves this life will lose it, and he who hates this life
-
in this world will keep it for eternal life.
-
If anyone serves me, let him follow me where I am, there my
-
servant will be also. If anyone serves me, Him my
-
Father will honor. And in verse 27, he was
-
predicting his death on the cross.
-
He said, my soul is troubled and what shall I say?
-
Father saved me from this hour. Jesus was burdened, he said, but
-
he said, wait a minute, It's for this purpose I've come to this
-
hour. Can I tell you if you're born
-
again and all the things that are happening in this world,
-
it's going to happen. But for this purpose that we
-
preach about, for this Jesus that we talk about, for this
-
Christian life that we live, it's for this purpose that we
-
come into the hour. Because I come by to tell you
-
that all the hell that's breaking loose in this earth, if
-
you're born again, you serve a God that is not troubled by it.
-
He can control it at the snap of a finger, but he's looking for
-
people to stand up with a new created spirit that's been
-
developed that says my God shall supply all of my needs according
-
to his riches in glory. But we get stirred up because of
-
what Fox says. We get stirred up because of a
-
tariff that's been played. We get stirred up on the
-
littlest things and lose faith. But for this purpose, wake up in
-
the morning, tell the enemy it's for this purpose I've come to
-
this hour. I'll bring something with me, a
-
new created spirit in Christ Jesus.
-
He's taking everything that's the Father's and he's making it
-
mine and I'm about to release it upon this earth.
-
Can I get a witness when Jesus said this, when he said for this
-
purpose I've come to this hour, there was something really neat
-
happened right here. It says, then a voice came from
-
heaven. Say I have both glorified it and
-
I will glorify it again. Talking about the hour that he
-
was about to face. How's anybody going to bring
-
glory to someone hanging on a cross because he's God.
-
Hey, man. And he had an eternal plan and
-
eternal purpose for his children that involved an old rugged
-
cross. Can I get a witness?
-
He had a plan to to send grace to planet earth.
-
He said for this purpose, for this hour, I have sent you to
-
this purpose. But what did the people do?
-
I have glorified it and I'll glorify it again.
-
There was a great move of God taking place in them.
-
Two verses right there. Therefore the people who stood
-
by and they heard it. What did they hear?
-
This voice coming from heaven that said I glorified it and
-
I'll glorify it again. Therefore the people stood by
-
and they heard it. I'm just picture a bunch of
-
believers out. God speaks that Thunder.
-
No, dummy, that was God. I see it in the church.
-
The Holy Spirit sweeps through and somebody's getting blessed
-
and somebody says, oh, did they raise a hand?
-
Did they speak in an unknown tongue?
-
No, the power God was being magnified upon them.
-
Amen. Get past what you see and get
-
into what the what you're feeling in the Spirit.
-
Amen. We get so hung up.
-
Oh, it made me uncomfortable. I'll tell you what, the rapture
-
is going to make you uncomfortable.
-
If you ain't going, the tribulation is going to make you
-
uncomfortable. I don't know where we got that
-
we're supposed to be comfortable as Christians.
-
I don't know where we got this fact that we're supposed to be
-
comfortable. Amen.
-
You supposed to walk in when God gives you a word?
-
Whoo. Man, I feel his glory.
-
It doesn't matter who it is or where it's at, if God gives you
-
a word, they're not unapproachable.
-
I told a man that this week of big church.
-
He talked about his past, some things going.
-
I said he's a man, he's not unapproachable.
-
He may need a Nathan in his life.
-
That's a whole nother message. David had a Nathan in his life.
-
We may need a Nathan in our life.
-
But he said I've glorified it and I'll glorify it again.
-
Therefore the people who stood by heard it.
-
Isn't this powerful talking about hearing the voice of God?
-
He said they said it had thundered.
-
Others said an Angel had spoken to him, and Jesus answered and
-
said this voice did not come because of me, but for your
-
sake. Now is the judgment of this
-
world. Now the ruler of this world be
-
cast out and I if I am lifted up, think about it, if I am
-
lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself.
-
So quit saying if I you could just hear the voice of God, seek
-
the spirit of God, you will hear the voice of God because John 4
-
and 24, it says God is a spirit. Say that with me.
-
God is a spirit and those that worship him must worship Him in
-
spirit and truth. So to develop your spirit, what
-
is it? Worship is man's reaction to
-
what? To God's holiness.
-
Worship is not about us, it's about God and what He's done,
-
His Holiness, His faithfulness. We bow down before him because
-
He's Lord of all. And if He's not Lord of all in
-
your life, he may not be Lord at all.
-
Praise comes out of our mouth. Worship is an attitude.
-
We must worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
-
So to be a new creation, we must have a recreated spirit.
-
And to do this we must do what? We must walk in love.
-
We must give the Word first place in our life.
-
But then you have to obey the voice of the Spirit of the Lord.
-
You must obey the voice of the Spirit of the Lord.
-
But see, the problem is in our life.
-
We looked outside circumstances to change our lives.
-
We look at what somebody else is doing or what somebody else has
-
done and we think if, if they would, if they would just change
-
that, I could change this. That's the attitude we have a
-
lot of times. We throw everything about us on
-
somebody else and we depend on how they act for happiness.
-
We're good at that, ain't we? Anybody know anybody like that
-
But the Bob, the apostle Paul approached that many times.
-
He said no. He said you have a hidden
-
treasure. Let's see.
-
When I look at a lot of people, I don't see the hidden treasure
-
because I don't see a human spirit that has been developed
-
in Galatians 5 and 16. He says, I say walk in the
-
spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh for the
-
flesh. Lust against the Spirit and the
-
spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one
-
another. Y'all figured that out yet?
-
So that you do not do the things that you wish, but if you're led
-
by the Spirit, you're not under the law.
-
We serve a mighty God that has a lot of things for His children,
-
but I challenge you work on recreating your human spirit.
-
We're good at going to church or going to meeting a Christian
-
that doesn't have it all together and spending the rest
-
of the week talking about what they did didn't do that they
-
should have done. I think about myself is what I
-
try to do. What can I do?
-
What can I carry around in me that might get on them if I'm
-
walking in love, Love can get on them if I'm walking in the
-
Spirit. You know, think about the think
-
about Peter and Paul and think about the apostles.
-
The anointing was so great, Brother Tim, you know, when they
-
they, there was times they laid hands and they prayed.
-
I prayed for him and they were instantly healed.
-
But there was other times that they just walked by.
-
They just walked by and just a shadow.
-
I've often thought it, but you know, Jesus said that same power
-
rest in US today. He said, because I went back to
-
the Father, the works that I did, you can do.
-
But we got to, we got to create this spirit within us, the place
-
that God can dwell, that he can live.
-
And I'll leave you with this today.
-
I got a lot more on this. But the apostle Paul says that
-
we have this hidden treasure within this vessel, within this
-
jar of clay. There's something inside of us
-
that people can't see. And if they can't see it, what
-
are they? If they can't see it, how, what
-
are they going to do? How are they going to watch it?
-
Anybody ever study people? I don't mean Barbara Rodeo.
-
And you spend a lot of time on the road.
-
You get to know people very well.
-
You get to know people and you get, you know, I, I can watch
-
people by their actions pretty much and tell if they're going
-
to get on my nerves. Do y'all do that?
-
They ask you to go on a trip with them and you never been
-
around with them long enough that you know that.
-
They can't bother you. Bob.
-
Was always hyper when we was rodeoing.
-
And one time we got on this plane, it had an aisle over here
-
and an aisle over here. Bob was hyper.
-
He was sitting in this little floozy.
-
Lady She. Come in with her bag.
-
OK, I'm sitting back here in the back.
-
I got to tell this I'm. Sitting back here in the back of
-
the plane. I'm watching Bob, Bob.
-
He's like this. He needs about four seats to.
-
Get all this stuff in Donnie Holly.
-
He gave us about four seats to get all this pirate stuff in
-
here. He's up there and I see this
-
little lady compressed. In there this bag she's.
-
Walking in there, I was sitting back.
-
I know this dude. This ain't fitting to work.
-
She sits down by Bob and. Lo and behold, her comes.
-
Another one sits down on that side.
-
So I'm back here and I he's being pretty still for about 10
-
minutes and he gets to moving around.
-
I'm about to doze off and I'm looking up there watching Bob
-
and I'm thinking this is good. I got to stay awake.
-
This something happened. Here, in a minute, we're
-
sitting. There, I'm sitting there and I
-
see this little lady says, Do you see?
-
That armrest, this side is my side.
-
That side is your side. Stay on your side.
-
Keep in mind, I'd known him since the 4th grade.
-
I knew it wasn't going to, boy. It was the best TV show I ever
-
seen. I just got to set back there.
-
I knew what this lady. He done bopped her in the ear
-
once and he when he was touching this and he was hitting that
-
one, it was bad, but he there was four seats there and he was
-
in the middle or five and he was in the middle and.
-
Finally, somehow, they move. Him I think over.
-
To Windows, but anybody? You know, we, we have people
-
like. That that we know that we just
-
couldn't travel with. I traveled with him, but his
-
brother couldn't. Not very long.
-
But the problem is we're like that in the body of Christ.
-
There's people that don't want to be around Christians and that
-
should never be the case because there's Christians that beat
-
them over the head. You need to do this.
-
You need it's not my job to tell you what you need to do.
-
I preach what the Word says that we should do.
-
But now when you sit there and you're not doing it, you get mad
-
at me. Give the Word first place you
-
get mad before you get mad at me.
-
Go see if the Bible says it. And if the Bible says it, you
-
ain't mad at me. You just mad at me for saying
-
what the Bible says. You're really having conflict
-
with God. And when you have conflict with
-
God, I believe God's kind of like I was with Bob.
-
He folds his arm. He said he don't want to listen.
-
I love him, but he's got to learn.
-
And he watches the show. Hey, man, anybody ever been in
-
the show? It's not a good place to be.
-
But God said if we begin developing on our own, we ain't
-
got to be in the show. We ain't got to.
-
God can take you around so many things, so many things, young
-
people, if you'll just listen, if you'll just resist the
-
temptation, don't give place to the devil.
-
Resist the enemy, resist it. And the Bible says he will flee.
-
But I challenge you, strive. We'll never be all we're
-
supposed to be upon this earth. But I believe we're to try.
-
I believe we're to try, but you know, as we stand our feet, I, I
-
see this so much and I just, I'd like to relate stuff to real
-
life, but we're doing a rodeo school one time and this boy,
-
he, they'd open the we'd open the gate, he'd land on his head
-
every time right there, right there.
-
And he just kept getting on. He just kept getting on.
-
We'd put him on an easy horse. He'd fall off right then.
-
He couldn't ride a stick horse. And I had some Christian guys
-
there with me and the boy they'd say, man, you're you're cowboy,
-
you're tough, you're good, you're good.
-
After about 3 days of hitting on his head, he.
-
Kept walking and they said, you ready, cowboy?
-
He said. I'm going to tell you all
-
something. I don't feel like no cowboy.
-
Rightfully so. But that's how a lot of
-
Christians are today. We keep patting them on the
-
back. You're OK as your heads are bad.
-
You're OK. You're a Christian.
-
You know Jesus, you're going to heaven.
-
It doesn't matter who you what you're doing, that ain't what
-
the Bible says. The Bible says get a new spirit.
-
Behold all things, behold all things become new.
-
I come by to tell you today, behold all things that can
-
become new. Well, Pastor, I got bills that I
-
can't be. All things can become new.
-
He says that my blessings are fresh and anew every day.
-
How much does God have that we ain't receiving a whole lot?
-
