  1. Welcome to the Cross Power Church podcast.

  2. You're listening to a service from our church in Campbell, TX.

  3. We pray this message strengthens your faith and points you to the

  4. cross. Now let's join the service.

  5. The setting of this Scripture finds the Apostle Paul.

  6. He's addressing a group of believers at Ephesus.

  7. I said they're believers and they're rich beyond measure.

  8. If you believe in Jesus Christ this morning, you're rich beyond

  9. measure. There's no measuring it.

  10. He can do exceedingly. And above all that our mind can

  11. think, ask, or imagine. That's big.

  12. You wives can ask your husband some big things.

  13. Hey, man, so can husbands. But he says here that they were

  14. rich beyond measure, but yet they were living as beggars.

  15. Sometimes we do that. We're rich beyond measure in

  16. Christ Jesus, but yet spiritually we're begging and

  17. only because the apostle Paul says it was because of their

  18. ignorance. Say that word.

  19. Linda taught y'all that word Wednesday nights because of

  20. their ignorance of the word of God.

  21. When we're ignorant of the word of God, we, we, we don't have

  22. the word without measure. Sounds like a lot of people, a

  23. lot of believers I know today. How about you?

  24. But I titled this today how to deal with fiery darts.

  25. Anybody ever had a fiery dart throwed at them?

  26. How do we deal with them? It will affect your relationship

  27. with your spouse, your coworkers, your church, your

  28. relationship with yourself. You know you got to get along

  29. with yourself in life to make it through life, right?

  30. But it will affect every area of your life.

  31. So what I'm preaching today will affect every area of your life.

  32. And let's ask for the God to touch this word.

  33. Father, we pray you would touch it once again.

  34. Father, that the anointing, the Holy Spirit would be here as

  35. we've already felt your anointing this morning, that

  36. you'd give me strength, that You would bring all these thoughts

  37. and these things that You've given me to my remembrance.

  38. It's in Your Son's name. We ask and pray that you would

  39. touch everyone here. Amen.

  40. Let's read in Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 10.

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  41. He says finally, my brethren, say it with me, be strong, not

  42. weak in the Lord, but strong and in the power of his might.

  43. What does that mean? What he might do right?

  44. He's got might, He's got power put on the whole armor of God.

  45. I like that, that you may be able to stand against the Wiles

  46. of the devil. What are the Wiles of the devil?

  47. There's a certain some terminology in here I want to

  48. explain this morning. But the Wiles of the devil is

  49. Satan's cunning, deceptive strategies, right?

  50. It's cunning, it's deceptive. That's the Wiles of the devil

  51. and he's cunning, he's deceptive.

  52. So we're to put on the whole armor of God in verse 12, very

  53. familiar passage for and we read this, but what do we do about

  54. it? It says we do not wrestle

  55. against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against

  56. powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against

  57. spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places.

  58. He says, therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may

  59. be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to

  60. stand, you may be seated unless you want to stand the whole

  61. service. That's good.

  62. So I want to back up and look at this other word we learned about

  63. the Wiles of the devil. But this principality, what is

  64. this word? In the Greek it is described as

  65. a, as a high-ranking and organized spiritual force.

  66. A principality is organized. The devil knows how he's going

  67. to come at you. I, I got 2 messages here.

  68. I'm going to try to tie them into one.

  69. But as early as Genesis, what happened when Eve went to the

  70. garden? We all, we all throw things at

  71. Eve and say, oh, Eve, she was, she was just going to be a

  72. harlot with the world. She wanted to do the things of

  73. the world. She wanted to know.

  74. But really, when you look at what Eve was doing, she was

  75. seeking good. She sought the tree of the

  76. knowledge of good and evil, and she tasted of the fruit.

  77. What happened? There's nothing wrong with

  78. eating an apple. They say it's good for you,

  79. right? But the problem was, is it was

  80. disobeying what God had said to do.

  81. There was really nothing wrong with it.

  82. The church needs that today. There's some good that you can

  83. do in life, but that good will lead you away from God, right?

  84. It was good to seek the good, but the good is what God said

  85. will lead me away from you see? But the enemy is a deceiver.

  86. He, he's organized, he's organized in the spiritual realm

  87. and the force of fallen angels that operate in the, in the

  88. demonic holding authority. Come on, somebody get this.

  89. We've seen this in our lifetime, many of us and some our

  90. ancestors before, but holding authority and influence, what is

  91. a principality? It holds authority and it holds

  92. influence even over earthly rulers.

  93. We look at Hitler, what happened?

  94. Something was holding him to evil, right?

  95. We look at all the magicians and the and the soothsayers and the

  96. witchcraft, something influencing them and holding

  97. them here in the earth and nations and systems that oppose

  98. God's will. That's what a principality is.

  99. That's why Paul said this flesh that you can pinch, pinch

  100. yourself. That's really not what you're

  101. wrestling with. It's way deeper than that.

  102. Hey, man, it's something that's heaven.

  103. You're you're a heavenly, you're blood bought.

  104. But there's a principality of darkness.

  105. Come on, stay with me this morning.

  106. And it's and it's being formed, right?

  107. And it's and it's forming part of this spiritual battle.

  108. Anybody in a spiritual battle this morning July you fry how

  109. many is in a spiritual battle layman.

  110. But see the thing about a spiritual battle is is that's

  111. what we're facing. It's part of the spiritual

  112. battle that we as followers of Christ face and we wrestle

  113. against. And Paul was addressing this and

  114. as we read the Scripture, we see an urgency from Paul here to put

  115. some stuff on. Obviously he's not talking about

  116. walk around with a helmet and walk around with a breastplate

  117. that everybody can see in a big old buckle that says truth on

  118. it. Obviously he's not talking about

  119. walking around with the armor on your body, but your spirit.

  120. He says stand, stand, stand, not sit, sit, sit.

  121. I want to look at this armor as we read on a little bit here.

  122. He says in verse 14 stand therefore having gird your waist

  123. with what truth? Why?

  124. Because John 8 and 32 it says that Jesus said ye shall know

  125. the truth and the truth shall set you free.

  126. Why do you think people don't like the truth?

  127. You know, you walk in a building and you weigh 400 lbs or you

  128. weigh 90 lbs and somebody says you're either fat or you're

  129. skinny. And we walk around the rest of

  130. the day worried about it, right? But what they said may have been

  131. the truth, but we don't like the truth.

  132. We want to make this thing up in our mind, right?

  133. Of how we are and how people receive us and receive our

  134. spirit. And yet many people do not like

  135. the truth. But the truth shall set you

  136. free. That's why he put it around his

  137. waist. He said the truth is what holds

  138. everything together in this Christian walk.

  139. The truth is what holds every. When everything's falling apart,

  140. the enemy's coming against you. You still have the truth, Amen.

  141. Because it's girded around your waist.

  142. See. True, true spiritual freedom.

  143. Truth is described as a belt that holds everything together.

  144. I got to hurry with this number 2, The breastplate of

  145. righteousness. The breastplate, it's, it

  146. protects all of you because it's righteous.

  147. Live right, obey the word, being right, standing with God.

  148. Why? Because it will protect you.

  149. First, John 5 and 18. Let's see how deep this is right

  150. here. This righteousness is a deep

  151. thing, but yet it's the very thing that Satan deceives

  152. Christians into people that are supposed to be.

  153. What does Christian mean? It means you go to church and

  154. you pay your tithes and you sit on the Pew and you endure a 30

  155. minute sermon and watch a 2 hour movie.

  156. No problem watching 2 hour movie, but that's hard and

  157. you're a 30 minute sermon. My God, it just hurts, right?

  158. But if we're righteous, it says that those that hunger and

  159. thirst after righteousness shall be filled.

  160. Why are a lot of folks not filled?

  161. They're not hunger and thirsting after righteousness, but as we

  162. begin to live right, How do you know that you're born again?

  163. Because there's something different about you.

  164. You're living right, and there's something that you are now that

  165. you used to not be because you're born again.

  166. But see, people don't like the born again part.

  167. They just want to skip the born again and end up saved and in

  168. heaven. I hope it works that way because

  169. most people I know are living that way.

  170. I just want to be saved. I don't, I don't want to change.

  171. I don't want to be born again. I just want to end up in heaven

  172. with fire insurance of walking around.

  173. I'm saved. John the Baptist never said

  174. that. He said a man must be born

  175. again. Jesus said it, A man must be

  176. born again. Let's see how serious this is.

  177. Oh, but we can't do it. We're just old sinners.

  178. First, John 5 and 18 sets a high standard of righteousness for

  179. those they're to born again. See, if you're not born again,

  180. it doesn't apply to you. You can't do it.

  181. But he says, I'll never forget the first time I read this.

  182. You know what I did? I didn't get offended.

  183. I'll hit my knees. I said, my God, I got something

  184. to work on because I read John. I read this and it changed my

  185. life. It says we know that whoever is

  186. born of God does not sin. Well, that rocks the mind a

  187. little bit, don't it? That rocks what the church is

  188. teaching today, don't it? I didn't say it.

  189. It's in the word. Well, that preacher said that,

  190. that if we're born of God, we know sin.

  191. I didn't say that. The Bible said it.

  192. I read it to you. Let's get that straight.

  193. But it is in there. But you know, we're Bible

  194. believing Christian, so we might hardly believe it.

  195. So when I read it, I said, you know what?

  196. I ain't got to sin every day. There's days I do, there's days

  197. I don't. But there the goal is not to

  198. right? We know that whoever's born of

  199. God does not sin, but he who has been born of God, oh, here's the

  200. key right here. Keeps his self.

  201. Hey man, if you begin to keep yourself from a lot of things of

  202. the world, you'll find that you're sinning becomes less

  203. regular. He was born of God keeps himself

  204. and the wicked 1 does not touch him.

  205. Boy, I like that. Well, preacher, you're going to

  206. walk around and say you're not going to get sick.

  207. He can't touch you. Once again, we do not wrestle

  208. against flesh and blood. Yes, he can touch the flesh and

  209. blood. He proved that in the Book of

  210. Job, right? He can touch the flesh and

  211. blood. But even when he touches the

  212. flesh and blood, there's something that's deep down

  213. inside of me that he cannot touch.

  214. It's called a hidden treasure in this jar of clay.

  215. And no matter what the enemy piles on, he can't touch this.

  216. Say, man, devil, you can't touch this.

  217. You may touch the flesh, but this hidden treasure that's in

  218. here is more precious than gold because there was blood shed and

  219. it's locked in, in a covenant that's ever binding.

  220. Boy, y'all ain't preaching with me this morning and you can't

  221. touch it because it's blood bought.

  222. This tells us that we're to be different.

  223. We're to be different. The third thing he mentions, he

  224. says the shoe or shod, however you pronounce it, your feet with

  225. the preparation of the gospel of peace.

  226. You ever thought about that? The Bible says that the steps of

  227. a righteous man, whoa are ordered of God.

  228. That means every step I take I need to be praying about.

  229. I need to have already prayed about it.

  230. I don't need to have to think about places that I can't or

  231. can't go. Anybody ever lived that way?

  232. Man, one time I was hanging around people did all kinds of

  233. crazy stuff, and I'd heard this Catholicism deal about go to a

  234. man and speak into a little window and confess and brother,

  235. you're OK. And boy, it sounded really good

  236. because see, I'd come from a Pentecostal church, and if you

  237. sin, God may strike lightning down and wipe you out.

  238. I said, this thing sounds pretty good, just go confess.

  239. But see, I'd already put that truth on.

  240. I had already buckled that truth around my waist and something

  241. inside of me said, no, that ain't right.

  242. You can't live like you want to. Your blood bought.

  243. And then he and then he sent that Holy Spirit that whispered

  244. in my ear. He said, you know what?

  245. Here's how I want you to live your life.

  246. And I've never forgot it. I was 17 years old when he spoke

  247. this word into me. And he said, he said, here's

  248. what I want you to do. The Holy Spirit, if I've ever

  249. heard the audible voice of God, it says, if I was with you,

  250. would you go there? Would you do it because I am

  251. Amen. And when I got that word that

  252. he's with me, it changed my life.

  253. It took out a lot of the places that I wanted to go that and and

  254. do because he said I'm right there with you.

  255. Would you take me there because I am powerful word of God shot

  256. your feet with the press preparation of the gospel.

  257. Anybody ever took an old horse and pulled the shoes off of him

  258. or maybe not shot him for a few years and and and there's

  259. certain places you come to gravel you your common sense.

  260. I got to swallow. Yo, forgive me.

  261. Common sense tells you don't lead him across the rocks

  262. because he's barefooted. I watched Swayze, you know, the

  263. day I took off his hot that whole shoes on.

  264. She took off across that, across the gravel.

  265. And here I went. Boy, by three steps in, I

  266. halted. Oh, I began to watch because I

  267. wasn't shot. I didn't have it on.

  268. We'll see. A lot of Christians are like

  269. that. They've got it on their head.

  270. They've they've got a little bit in here, but their, their feet

  271. are still wandering and they walk around.

  272. You know, I had Christians. Oh, we can't go over there,

  273. brother. They're drinking.

  274. We can't go over here. They're smoking.

  275. We can't go over. I said, why, maybe you still

  276. struggling with it. I ain't, I'm gonna walk in there

  277. and I'm gonna change environment.

  278. I'm gonna make some folk nervous when I walk in there.

  279. I'm not going to I'm not going to tiptoe around sin because I

  280. know sin destroys. But we got a lot of Christian

  281. that's walking like this. So I can't be around now.

  282. Bring out, bring it on because it's defeated at the cross of

  283. Calvary. I've I've shot my feet with the

  284. preparation of the gospel and I'm not going to change because

  285. of what you're doing. Amen.

  286. We have so many people looking at what other people's doing.

  287. I learned a long time ago that when I try to justify what God

  288. has told me to do through what you're doing, what you have

  289. justified might kill me. Boy, young say man right there.

  290. Why? Because I've shod myself with

  291. the gospel. Watch where you step.

  292. Don't walk around barefooting, letting every little thing hurt

  293. you, letting every little thing weaken you.

  294. Walking into the church house looking for somebody to offend

  295. you. Amen.

  296. You're walking on the egg. Just just go in there and say,

  297. God, I don't see nobody today. I didn't come to impress my

  298. neighbor. I came to receive the word that

  299. you have for me. Just go ahead and shot me.

  300. Let me get the whole armor of God.

  301. On that I can withstand. The fourth thing he mentions is

  302. a shield of faith. Who?

  303. It's a substance of what we're hoping for, but it's the

  304. evidence of what we cannot see. Why is this so important?

  305. Why is faith so important? Because Scripture tells us that

  306. without faith you cannot please God.

  307. Without believing is something that you haven't seen, you can't

  308. please God. Hebrews 11 and six says it

  309. Without faith, it's impossible to please God.

  310. Well, I know what the Bible says, brother, but that ain't

  311. what I'm seeing. Then you don't have faith.

  312. Elijah, Elijah's follower, had that problem.

  313. And Elijah prayed. He said when they were

  314. surrounded by the armies, this guy didn't see nothing but the

  315. armies. And Elijah said, no, the armies

  316. are down here, but look on the hills around us.

  317. He said we're surrounded by Chariots, we're surrounded by

  318. angels. Without faith, it's impossible

  319. to please God for he who comes to God must believe that he is

  320. and that he we, we do believe that a lot.

  321. But I love this last part. It says you got to believe that

  322. and you also got to believe that he is a rewarder of those who

  323. diligently seek him. What does that mean?

  324. When I live righteous and I get this truth in me, God's got some

  325. rewards. He going to drop on me.

  326. Hey man, and you say, oh, I'm going to have that.

  327. I don't need the money. Hey man, the money just causes

  328. more problem. God just drop some gifts on me.

  329. Just drop some discernment on me.

  330. Just drop some tongues on me. Just drop some healing on me,

  331. drop some discernment on me. See, those things will last

  332. forever. The money's going to run out.

  333. Amen. Y'all ain't figured that out

  334. yet, huh? He's a rewarder of those who

  335. diligently seek him. I get conversations a lot.

  336. I'm going. I ain't got my message yet.

  337. I got to preach this before I get to it, but I have a

  338. conversation this week with a guy I've been working on, Lord's

  339. been working on. But sometimes you think they're

  340. getting it. Sometimes you know they ain't

  341. getting it. But he asked.

  342. He said he heard a heard a deal the other day about when the

  343. thief on the cross got to heaven.

  344. And what the what he was asking. He said, how'd you get here?

  345. I said, where'd you read that? I said I ain't never read that.

  346. He said, what was his name? I said I've never read his name.

  347. I said he was a thief at Jesus that that looked on Jesus and

  348. believed on Jesus. And Jesus said what?

  349. Today you will be with me in paradise.

  350. He said, well, I thought I said Nope, not in the Bible.

  351. About when he got to heaven, what he was asked and he said,

  352. OK, well I'm asking you if God come to you, I'm asking you the

  353. same question. If God come to you And he said

  354. if you will give up this and he was specific and you will have

  355. an entrance into the throne room of heaven.

  356. And this is what the guy asked me.

  357. This is a worldly guy. Now he said, would you give it

  358. up? And he says like me, he said if

  359. God come to me and told me to quit cussing.

  360. He said I wouldn't quit cussing. He said I can't.

  361. He said it's just I said I say I'm going to.

  362. But he said I don't quit. He cleans it up to me.

  363. One guy said how you talk to us? He don't talk like that around

  364. me. He said he don't.

  365. I said no. I said he wants to be my friend

  366. and if he knows he won't be his friend, he ain't going to drop

  367. them things every time he's on the phone or he ain't going to

  368. be his friend. Hey, man, why is that right or

  369. wrong? I got to keep myself right, but

  370. ask that question. So would you really give it up?

  371. And then they go to firing them darts.

  372. I'm fixing to read to you about in a minute.

  373. You ever get a dart fired at you?

  374. You know, most people, they'll ask you like they want you to

  375. witness to them. And then they're really fixing

  376. to turn it around on you because they're narsic, narcissist,

  377. whatever the word is. I call it goofy, I call him

  378. idiot, belligerent. But let's read right here.

  379. It says in 14, I'm going to get back to that story.

  380. Hold that thought. But he says stand, therefore,

  381. having girded your waist with the truth of righteousness,

  382. breastplate of righteousness, having shod your feet with the

  383. preparation of the gospel and above all, the shield of faith.

  384. That's what we're talking about right now.

  385. We're talking about faith with which you will be able.

  386. Why is it important to put on the full armor of God?

  387. He tells it right here. This got all over me when I read

  388. it this week, that you will be able.

  389. It doesn't say that God will be able.

  390. He says I've given you the things to place up on your

  391. spiritual being and in your soul and in your mind.

  392. I've covered every area of your body within these few verses,

  393. Paul says. But he says you got to take

  394. these things on so that you will be able to quench.

  395. All the fiery darts of the wicked one.

  396. How do you quench the fiery dart?

  397. The fiery darts are coming. They're not going to stop.

  398. They're going to come through the enemy or they're going to

  399. come through people that the enemy is operating in.

  400. But back to this conversation. If you give this up, here comes

  401. that dart. I knew it was fixing to be

  402. fired. If God asks, if God come to you

  403. and say give up Coon hunt, I love Coon hunt.

  404. Be hard if God come to you and say give up riding those horses,

  405. give up whatever it is you do. Couldn't be a job and you knew

  406. you had entered straight into heaven.

  407. He said truth is none of us would really do it anyway.

  408. I said help me Holy Ghost and boy the Holy Ghost begin to fire

  409. some darts back. I said, well, let me tell you

  410. something. I said that sounds good, but I

  411. said God does not operate that way.

  412. He didn't ask the thief to give up nothing.

  413. All he did was have faith. That's why the Apostle Paul said

  414. here, above all, take the shield of faith.

  415. He believed with all his heart. He said, when you get there

  416. today in heaven, he said, Remember Me?

  417. He said, no, today you'll be with me in paradise.

  418. So I said what that statements really saying it's not about a

  419. question. What happened when he got to

  420. heaven? The question was it the the the

  421. answer to that question is the thief believed and I said, let

  422. me tell you. So I said I did the Holy Ghost

  423. just begin to flood my spirit. I said, let me tell you

  424. something about salvation. I said it is free, but it ain't

  425. cheap. And I said, you are right, you

  426. can't give up anything. I said I'm weak in the flesh.

  427. I can't give up anything. But I said when you take the

  428. gift of salvation and you just don't keep it on a shelf and you

  429. just don't look at it, but you begin to peel the layers of that

  430. salvation back and you realize, my God, there's a little bit of

  431. forgiveness in here. You realize you're in a blood

  432. covenant, that a man died on a cross and became God in the

  433. flesh. And you begin to open the gift

  434. of salvation. I said, there's something on the

  435. inside of you that's going to begin to happen and it's going

  436. to change your life. And I said, I found that.

  437. I said, well, this is really good.

  438. The Holy Ghost told him. He said.

  439. I said, I found that. You may not have to give up

  440. anything. He might just change the way you

  441. do it. Whoa.

  442. And I said, what? I give up.

  443. But it was Silas on the line. I'm beginning to preach a little

  444. bit. If you give this up, that's what

  445. that's what. And that's the way we do.

  446. That's the way our mind thinks. Why?

  447. Because we hadn't got that true faith.

  448. It's not the cousin, the cousin's the the cousin comes

  449. out because of something that's wrong in here, right?

  450. It's a hurt and you think it helps, but see God doesn't

  451. operate like that. Salvation's free, but it ain't

  452. cheap. But when you have faith, he said

  453. a small it don't take a lot. Thief didn't have a lot of

  454. faith. He didn't go into telling Jesus

  455. who he thought he was. He just said Remember Me,

  456. Remember Me. He cast all his carriers upon

  457. him. Come on somebody.

  458. You see, it's what's in all these promises.

  459. When we begin begin to realize what Jesus did for us and you

  460. begin to saturate, you begin to meditate on these things and

  461. then he pours the Holy Spirit into this vessel.

  462. You might be surprised at what you have to give up.

  463. It just changes. You do it a different way.

  464. Mark 11/23 confirms this. It says Have faith in God.

  465. If we ain't got faith, we ain't got nothing.

  466. For surely I say unto you, whoever says that this mountain

  467. be removed and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his

  468. heart, but believes those things, say that with me,

  469. believes those things which he says it will be done.

  470. He can have whatsoever he asked. Why does Paul say above all

  471. these things, take on the shield of faith?

  472. So that you can do what? Quench the fiery darts?

  473. I don't want to leave you hanging this morning because

  474. there's some fiery darts. What are they?

  475. How do we get through them? You know, it's been in ministry

  476. nearing 30 years now of some sort.

  477. I've seen a lot of fiery darts that were sent to destroy me.

  478. I've seen a lot of fiery darts that was sent to destroy this

  479. church. The Holy Spirit give me these

  480. words this week sitting in my truck waiting on someone.

  481. You know, I've realized I can't determine what the fiery darts

  482. are that's being fired at me. But the apostle Paul thought

  483. that we needed all these things upon our spiritual body so that

  484. we could deflect them, right? I can't determine what the fiery

  485. dart is. I can't determine who it comes

  486. from have learned it comes from a lot of people that's close to

  487. you. A lot of times it comes to those

  488. that you'd play some trust that come on, y'all ain't y'all ain't

  489. getting out of this by yourself. I'm we're in this deal.

  490. I don't even know many times what's being fired.

  491. You don't know what's being fired at you this morning, or

  492. maybe from a loved one, maybe from a message that you've

  493. heard. But I can position myself to

  494. receive it and I can be strong in the Lord and the power of His

  495. might and what He might do and how He might handle it because

  496. there's times I can't handle it. Can I get a witness?

  497. Sometimes in relationships, the dart bounces off and hits the

  498. ground. Sometimes it sticks and you,

  499. most people don't pull it out because when we dress it and we

  500. begin to pull it out, it, it hurts and it bleeds for a little

  501. while. But I can assure you, if you,

  502. you, you have the, you have the privilege of determining what

  503. darts stick and what bounce off. But I can tell you this, if, if,

  504. if it hurts, it bleeds. It's hard to get over, but I got

  505. to pull the dart out. I got to take the pain.

  506. If you're in a relationship or you're in a ministry, sometimes

  507. you just got to take it, don't you, sister?

  508. We talked about that a few months ago.

  509. Some things are flying around. I said we didn't really do

  510. nothing about it went away. I said sometimes you just got to

  511. take it. Hey, man, Because what it's

  512. going to tear down is way, way. I'm not saying sin, I'm just

  513. saying crazy stuff. But I can position myself to

  514. either let it bounce off or take it.

  515. But sometimes I have to take it. Sometimes in ministry to

  516. continue, you got to take it. Sometimes in relationships, you

  517. got to take it. If you don't, you'll be on

  518. Facebook giving it. What is the fiery dart?

  519. The Bible mentions? What is it?

  520. I think we can go to James chapter 3 and find out really

    James 3 chapter mention

  521. quick what it is in James chapter 3, the fiery dart.

    James 3 chapter mention

  522. It's a thing that Jesus said no man can do and I found that

  523. astounding because he says right here we read this morning that

  524. you're born to God. It's able to not sin.

  525. We read that what it says here, but James said my brother and

  526. James chapter 3 and verse 1, he says let not many of you become

    James 3 chapter mention

  527. teachers knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

  528. Man, that's powerful, isn't it? Some of these people teaching

  529. some of this stuff that ain't in the Bible.

  530. For we all stumble in many things.

  531. If anyone does not stumble in Word, he's a perfect man, also

  532. able to bridle the whole body. The whole body indeed.

  533. We put bits and horses mouths that they may obey us, and we

  534. turn their whole body. Look also at the ships, the

  535. brother of Jesus here he was preaching a powerful word.

  536. Although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they

  537. are turned by a very small rudder that's up under them

  538. wherever the pilot desires. Even so, the tongue is a little

  539. member, and it boasts great things.

  540. Everybody's looking for the problem in their life.

  541. Most of the time it's the tongue.

  542. I'd say 99% of the time, you change your speech, you change

  543. your life. You change your speech, you

  544. change your thinking when your ears hear your mouth, not just

  545. the preacher professing the word of God.

  546. There's something begins to change in your life because you

  547. receive a Rhema from God, a spoken word of God, not just

  548. something that you've heard about and kept inside, but you

  549. begin to speak it. How great a forest, a little

  550. fire Kindles, and the tongue is a fire.

  551. Could this be the fiery dart that the apostle Paul was

  552. talking about? A world of iniquity.

  553. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the

  554. whole body, and it sets on fire the course of nature, and it's

  555. set on fire, boy by hell. Powerful.

  556. For every kind of beast and bird, reptile and creature of

  557. the sea is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.

  558. But no man can tame the tongue. It's an unruly evil, full of

  559. deadly poison. With it we bless our God and our

  560. Father, and with it we curse men who has been made in the in the

  561. in the solitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed

  562. blessing and cursing my brother. And these things ought not be

  563. so. Does the spring send forth

  564. freshwater and bitter from the same opening?

  565. Can a fig? Can a fig tree, my brother, and

  566. bear olives, or a Grapevine? Bear figs?

  567. Thus, no spring yields both salt and water.

  568. Powerful. You're looking for a change in

  569. your life. Change your speech.

  570. Change your tongue. Hey, man.

  571. Because it produces fiery darts. You know what I'm talking about.

  572. Am I the only one? Most of the time the Holy Spirit

  573. reveals. Here comes that dart.

  574. Here comes that dart. Maybe in the supermarket.

  575. They got a lot of owls in there. You can hide, you can duck off.

  576. I know they got some darts. I don't want to hear them today

  577. because the dart effects you. You know, I can walk through

  578. that door. And somebody said, oh, boy, you

  579. preach that good last week, brother.

  580. But you should have, you know what I say?

  581. I would have. I should have.

  582. And I would have, but I didn't hear it from the Father.

  583. If that's your word, you get up there, quench is the dart.

  584. All right, y'all know those kids?

  585. Do y'all have any of those in your life?

  586. Some of you got to go to work tomorrow.

  587. Here comes some darts. But see, the darts are bad

  588. because they hadn't learned to tame the tongue.

  589. They got a little gossip bound up in them.

  590. They got a little jealousy bound up in them because you know, the

  591. Holy Spirit, give me this one time, people just running down

  592. the ministry, running down this, and the Holy Spirit said this to

  593. me. He said the reason they're doing

  594. that is because they're jealous of what you are because they

  595. will never be that I said, but we're created equal.

  596. He said I'm no respecter of persons, but I am a respecter of

  597. faith. And they're not willing to pay

  598. the price to receive the faith that you have because they ain't

  599. no other way to get it but praying and seeking God and

  600. listening right. The fiery darts, it'll change

  601. your life. You got to realize that the

  602. fiery darts is coming from the enemy through a person, right?

  603. First they light it up with a little bit of lie.

  604. You know what's coming, but you got to consider the source of

  605. the fiery dart. I told someone that the other

  606. day and counseling I somebody they knew, I said, I said, would

  607. you take this the same way if it was coming from that person

  608. life? No, I wouldn't think nothing.

  609. I said, well, they're the same type person, I know them better

  610. than you do, so change the whole conversation didn't mean nothing

  611. then, right? We got to consider the source.

  612. If it's not coming from God, it shouldn't offend us at all, but

  613. it does consider the source. You know what's then of me

  614. working through someone? Sometimes you just got to take

  615. it. It's going to hit you, it's

  616. going to hurt, but only you can determine how deep you let it

  617. go. You know there's going to be

  618. people in hell because they fell out in church, because some old,

  619. well, you know, the world calls them hypocrites.

  620. I tell them all the time, the hypocrite in church closer to

  621. God than you are because he's in church, right?

  622. You're letting the hypocrite keep you from God because of

  623. something that happened in a church, right?

  624. There's going to be people and they're going to be people in

  625. hell because of a dart they let stick a little too deep and they

  626. got offended at what somebody said.

  627. And they thought that everybody in the Kingdom lived their life

  628. like that. And these Christians are just

  629. cruel and evil and everybody's like that.

  630. And I can't go back to church. I can't trust, I can't love.

  631. If God was really God, why all these thoughts and were darts

  632. from the enemy that the apostle Paul was warning you and I

  633. that's coming. He said that we have to

  634. distinguish them. We have to quench them, right?

  635. I can tell you as a minister or in relationships individually,

  636. if you serve Jesus Christ, you will have to learn to quench the

  637. fiery darts or you will become drained.

  638. You can't determine how deep they're going to go.

  639. You can walk around all can't believe they said that.

  640. People will say anything, especially when they know the

  641. dart is you're going to let it enter.

  642. They'll fire one, but they'll see it.

  643. Here come another one. Here come another one.

  644. You can't deter. You can determine how many you

  645. pull out, but you must not let them stick.

  646. Let yourself heal from those darts.

  647. I'm preaching to somebody this morning.

  648. There's one thing for certain. There's one thing for certain.

  649. I want you to never forget this. If you let them stick in you, if

  650. you let don't quench those fiery darts with this full armor of

  651. God. So you've got that helmet of

  652. salvation upon you to know better.

  653. Here's what happens. You'll bleed to death

  654. spiritually. Thanks for listening to the

  655. Cross Powered Church podcast. May you know that true hope,
