  1. Welcome to the Cross Power Church podcast.

  2. You're listening to a service from our church in Campbell, TX.

  3. We pray this message strengthens your faith and points you to the

  4. cross. Now let's join the service.

  5. Preached on a lot of this stuff for over the years and you may

  6. have been here you may have not you know a preached series and

  7. sometimes very few make it through 3/4.

  8. I'm not kidding I've watched I know I see things and so I have

  9. to back up to finish series because and it's you know it's

  10. not I'm not saying that bad. Some people are called out in

  11. the ministry they they're not here and every Sunday or

  12. Wednesday. But that's why I don't do a lot

  13. of series but I did some of this stuff back in 20 during COVID

  14. and crowds were live tonight. It's a little light spring break

  15. going on, I guess too, but I preached on the present day

  16. ministry of Jesus and that's that's that's kind of an easy

  17. one. We know what the present day

  18. ministry is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to to a lost and

  19. dying world. The present day ministry is is

  20. kind of left up to the church today and the people attending

  21. the church and those that tend to venture out the doors of the

  22. church. It's the present day ministry of

  23. spreading the gospel, but social media does a lot of that today.

  24. It's done a lot different than it was in years past.

  25. And the second part of this series I preached was the

  26. reality. And I preached this quite often,

  27. pretty much every Sunday, the reality of the authority of the

  28. name of Jesus. And we stayed on that for a few

  29. weeks. But when you realize that there

  30. there is a reality that Jesus does have the authority because

  31. it was given to him upon this earth when he conquered sin,

  32. death, hell in the grave. There was a great authority that

  33. was put on his name. And it is a reality in our life

  34. as we become a believer that we can, that we can look to the

  35. reality of the authority of the name of Jesus.

  36. And the third thing I preached on that and I best, I remember

  37. there wasn't a whole lot here. And I just was digging through

  38. some things this week and found this.

  39. And the third part of that series I preached on was Jesus

  40. victory over Satan. I want to look at this tonight,

  41. Jesus victory over Satan. When you look around our world

  42. and our country and bring it on down to our state, bring it on

  43. down to our church, bring it on down to our schools, bring it on

  44. down to our home, sometimes it doesn't look like a lot of

  45. people have victory over Satan. See, Satan was the reason for

  46. redemption. Satan was the reason that there

  47. had to be a redemptive plan. Without Satan being defeated, we

  48. would not be redeemed. As early as Genesis chapter 3,

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  49. we read about it and you can turn there.

  50. You can read about it when you get home.

  51. But there was something that happened that turned the whole

  52. course of mankind for all time while up on planet Earth.

  53. What? How many know what happened?

  54. Mankind, womankind, however you choose to say it, there's

  55. something that happened right there in Genesis chapter 3.

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  56. The enemy did something called deceived.

  57. He deceived Eve, right? He deceived her.

  58. He deception entered in and I want to look at this.

  59. See, my belief is that the devil can deceive you.

  60. There's no doubt he can deceive you.

  61. We see this through television ads.

  62. We threat see this through music.

  63. We see this through drugs and alcohol, sexual immorality.

  64. The devil can deceive you. We've all at some time or

  65. another, been deceived by the devil.

  66. We thought that that what the world had to offer or what

  67. someone had to offer us was better than what God had to

  68. offer us. So we were deceived into acting

  69. upon what He was, what He was doing in our mind, which was

  70. deceiving us. That's what happened to Eve.

  71. That's what that's what happened to the fall of man.

  72. But write this down. My belief is the devil can

  73. deceive you. We know what can happen, but I

  74. don't think he can make us do anything.

  75. Hello. You ever had a teenage kid?

  76. I mean, there comes a point you can make them do some things,

  77. but there comes a point they just look at you and you realize

  78. that, hey, to make the OR an employee, I can make them do

  79. this, but it's going to take some force.

  80. I recall what Randy said one time.

  81. His daughter didn't think grinding it was too bad from her

  82. car. So he took the keys and he taped

  83. them to the ceiling fan that hung down over the kitchen

  84. table. So every meal he put it on low

  85. and she had to watch them ceiling fans go around with the

  86. keys on them To remind her that hey, I still got a little bit of

  87. authority, right? To remind her that, hey, I can

  88. still stop some things in your life.

  89. But see, there comes a time and it's this way in the spiritual

  90. realm. You can't make people do

  91. anything. You can preach them the gospel.

  92. You those saying you can lead a horse, help me in the water, but

  93. you can't make him drink, right? But my belief is the devil can't

  94. can deceive you, but he can't really make you do anything.

  95. And I, I get tired of people saying, well, the devil made me.

  96. No, he didn't. You were deceived.

  97. You believe the lie of the enemy because he's the author of lies.

  98. He's a liar. He's the author of what

  99. confusion. And when you believe the lie,

  100. you get confused, you become deceived, right?

  101. And and he can make things in this life look so good and

  102. convince your mind that you can't live without it.

  103. And yes, you will act up on it. So when we look at this, it's a

  104. three fold thing over Satan. It's a three fold thing.

  105. And I want to look at this third thing tonight.

  106. We have the present day ministry of Jesus.

  107. We have the reality of the authority of his name, but we

  108. have victory over Satan through Jesus.

  109. See the first way God chose to defeat Satan, the very first way

  110. he had He had a, a, a spiritual being on planet earth that

  111. people could not see that had came from heaven.

  112. He had came from the throne room of God.

  113. He was a he was a different type of spirit that probably God had

  114. ever seen because he had blessed him to lead worship in heaven.

  115. He was in heaven. He was in the presence of God.

  116. He knew how God thought. He knew how God reacted.

  117. He had he's been in the very present ever thought about that

  118. in the very presence of God and yet he wanted to become like God

  119. and God seen pride in heaven. He said pride cannot exist where

  120. I'm at. So he cast him down and all

  121. those that were he was trying to get in his little occult and he

  122. cast them down to planet earth and there was fallen angels and

  123. there was a lot of them. But the first way God chose to

  124. defeat him and redeem him was where.

  125. And you know, when I think about this, if I would have been God,

  126. I am not God, but had I have been God, I think I would have

  127. spoke and defeated Satan. And it's, and it's pretty

  128. interesting to see how God did this because God could have

  129. attacked Satan in the spirit realm because he could turn

  130. water into wine. He could part the Red Sea.

  131. He can make a staff, turn into a rod, turn into a snake.

  132. God could do a lot of neat stuff, but he could have just

  133. spoke at any time and Satan would have been wiped out.

  134. God did not do it that way. Ever wondered why?

  135. I've often wondered why he chose to come down to planet that to

  136. the planet earth that he created and defeat him with the only

  137. begotten Son on his own turf. That whosoever believes in him

  138. can be born again and have eternal life and have it more

  139. abundantly. So the first place that God

  140. defeated Satan, and this was just ironic to me when I was

  141. studying this out was with something that you and I fell

  142. with every day, an earthly walk. We can say he defeated him with

  143. Jesus. And that's true.

  144. Jesus came as God in form of a man, the planet earth, right?

  145. But what defeated Satan, the way that Jesus walked this earth for

  146. 33 1/2 years is what defeated Satan.

  147. He had a mission to accomplish when he was here.

  148. And and it's a type and shadow of what God has called his

  149. children, Christians to do. And yet we fail miserably

  150. because we're too worried about getting saved and just going to

  151. heaven. And we don't even occupy come on

  152. somebody until he comes, much less do anything for the Kingdom

  153. and begin to open the blinded eyes and do the things that

  154. Jesus did. But yet God chose to defeat

  155. Satan with an earthly walk with a fleshly man, which Satan

  156. tempted in every way, just as you and I are tempted, but was

  157. without sin and got to sit down at the right hand of the Father.

  158. I want to read a little bit of that.

  159. I know we've read it before, but but it's it's, you know, it's

  160. kind of like the ABC's. You forget the ABC's in your

  161. life. What happened?

  162. You forget how to read. You forget the ABC's in your

  163. mind and you forget how to talk. So in in Luke chapter 4 it says

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  164. in verse one that Jesus being filled with the Holy Spirit, he

  165. requires his believers to do this too.

  166. In Acts you can read about it. He returned from the Jordan

  167. after water baptism and he was led by the Spirit into the

  168. wilderness. Being tempted for 40 days by the

  169. devil. By the way, I'm preaching on 40

  170. this Sunday. So you want to, you want to be

  171. here. It's going to be a good one.

  172. God, don't ever give it to me on Wednesday.

  173. It's usually Saturday or Sunday. So I got to be, I got a week to

  174. build on it. And in those days, he ate

  175. nothing. And afterwards, when he was

  176. hungry, You don't want to go to people when they're hungry.

  177. They're vulnerable. They just want to eat.

  178. They don't care about life. Many people, they don't care

  179. about anything. When you get hungry, there's one

  180. thing on your mind, Jerry, isn't it eating nothing else seems to

  181. matter when you starve and especially if you hadn't had it

  182. 40 days. And the devil said to him, if

  183. you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.

  184. He could have done it. What a great miracle that would

  185. have been. Look here, I'm going to feed

  186. myself with these rocks. But yet he resisted that

  187. temptation and Jesus answered him.

  188. He said is written man shall not live by bread alone, but by

  189. every word of God. You know, man has still not

  190. figured that out. Then the devil, taking him up on

  191. the high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world at

  192. a moment of time. And the devil said to him, All

  193. this authority I will give you, and their glory.

  194. For this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I

  195. wish. Well, that's tough, isn't it?

  196. A lot of the good. See, Devil can give you some

  197. things that look good to the eyes and to the flesh.

  198. Therefore, if you will worship before me, all will be yours.

  199. And Jesus answered and he said to him, and I thought about that

  200. he, Satan asked for worship. What was he asking for to bow

  201. down? That's right.

  202. He was asked just just bow down to me.

  203. Just recognize me. Just give me a little time.

  204. Just don't do anything for God and you begin to bow down to

  205. Satan. And Jesus answered, he said, get

  206. thee behind me. Anybody ever told Satan that Get

  207. thee behind me, Get thee behind me, Satan?

  208. For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and

  209. him only shall you serve. Then he brought him to

  210. Jerusalem. He didn't stop there.

  211. And he set him out on the pinnacle of the temple.

  212. And he said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself

  213. down from here. For it is written, He shall give

  214. his angels charge over you to keep you, and in their hands

  215. they shall bear you up, bless you, dash your foot against a

  216. stone. And Jesus answered, And he said

  217. to him, It has been said, you shall not tempt the Lord to God.

  218. Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed

  219. from him until a uptream time, or for a season.

  220. Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and

  221. the news of Him went out through all the surrounding region, and

  222. He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

  223. So see, the first way that He chose to fight Satan was with a

  224. fleshly man with temptations that you and I face every day.

  225. And as I was meditating on this today, I said, God, what do you

  226. tell Him? The Holy Spirit spoke this.

  227. Write this down because I believe it was from God.

  228. We must stop dwelling in the carnality of the thought process

  229. of the mind. Can I say that again?

  230. We must stop dwelling in the carnality of the thought process

  231. of the mind. What does that mean?

  232. I said. I begin to look at that.

  233. Do we dwell? When you dwell on something, it

  234. means that you live there. It means that that is a part of

  235. you. You live there.

  236. You're now with it and you don't ever get away from it unless you

  237. act upon it. And most people, it's the when

  238. we say carnality, it is. It is fleshly desires.

  239. It can be sexual immorality. It can be that the lust of the

  240. eye can be all kinds. It's anything in the flesh.

  241. It's carnal. We understand that.

  242. So we must stop dwelling in the carnality of the thought process

  243. of the mind. You know anybody like that,

  244. before you say anything to them, you already know the series of

  245. questions that you're going to have to answer because that is,

  246. let's just call it their carnal DNA makeup.

  247. The DNA that you see that, you know, is the nature of them that

  248. they are going to react this way because they always do.

  249. Hello, I'm on a ruffle some feathers now.

  250. But you say something to them and you know exactly how they're

  251. going to react. You know, you say, well, they

  252. had a wreck. Did they get killed?

  253. No, they were OK. Well, why was that?

  254. They was OK. Yeah, they were OK.

  255. But, well, you know, we we we say, well, I I seen somebody in

  256. town and they was having a little.

  257. Are they divorced? Are they having trouble?

  258. We dwell in the carnality, right?

  259. And see, Jesus didn't do this. He could have dwelled in the

  260. car. Now he could have got hung up

  261. on, wait a minute, I just come from heaven where God had all

  262. this authority and I was sent to this earth.

  263. And now I've met this man that says he's Satan, and it says

  264. that he has authority over all the things I see to give them to

  265. me, right? So he could have got hung up on

  266. any of them things. But Jesus had learned not to

  267. dwell in the carnality of the thought process.

  268. If you're going to defeat Satan in this, in this earthly walk,

  269. you're going to have to learn to not dwell in the carnality of

  270. the thought process. Amen.

  271. And I've been doing this a lot lately because as we go to the

  272. doctors, we get different reports and, and things like

  273. that. If you go to doctors, you're

  274. going to get bad reports a lot of times.

  275. But yet, you know the promises of God.

  276. And I can't dwell in the carnality of that thought.

  277. I have to turn my thought and say, OK, it may look like this

  278. at what I'm hearing, but I, I know that God has never failed

  279. me yet. And I know that God is supplying

  280. a way out. And I look at that.

  281. I look at the enemy, say God must have something good for my

  282. life. Amen.

  283. Anybody ever been to that place? I pray with people around these

  284. altars. You couldn't even imagine the

  285. place that you're at. But we just kept saying over and

  286. over that God is going to bring me out of this and we see it.

  287. What if God does see Jesus? He, he he went on and as he came

  288. to Nazareth, where after he had done what I just preached to

  289. you. We must stop dwelling in the

  290. carnality. Why?

  291. Because the Bible is very clear that life and death, blessing

  292. and cursing is in the power of the tongue.

  293. It's in within what we say. So we must stop dwelling in the

  294. carnality of the thought process of the mind because the mind is

  295. not always right. Anybody figured that out?

  296. We rely on our mind too much. If we can read it and we can see

  297. it in our mind's eye, we can confirm it on Google.

  298. Then it becomes a part of us that's carnal.

  299. We operate how in the spirit realm, that's how we overcome

  300. those things. So look what Jesus did as he

  301. went out because he had because he had overcome these things.

  302. He went into the synagogues and verse 16 through 17 and and he

  303. was handed the book of the book of the prophet Isaiah.

  304. And he began to read this book and he said this, he said the

  305. spirit of the Lord. Look how Jesus didn't think the

  306. spirit of the Lord. See, there's something in these

  307. first, first 15 verses that had happened.

  308. The spirit of the enemy had come up on him because he was tempted

  309. for 40 days, but he didn't talk about what he was tempted by.

  310. He turned it around and he went to the synagogue and he said,

  311. the spirit of the Lord is upon me.

  312. Anybody ever feel like the spirit of the Lord is upon you?

  313. You should if you're a Christian, but you're not going

  314. to if you're dwelling in the carnal.

  315. Well, this is good stuff. You're not going to if you're

  316. dwelling in the carnality of the thought process of the mind.

  317. You're not going to feel like the Spirit of the Lord is upon

  318. you. You're going to feel like

  319. negativity is upon you. You're going to feel like the

  320. last word that somebody that went through what you're going

  321. through has spoken to your spirit or your mind and you

  322. begin to believe it. See, you must stop dwelling in

  323. the carnality of the mind. Jesus did not do this and this

  324. is how God defeated Satan was in the fleshly walk.

  325. We can do it y'all. The Spirit of the Lord is upon

  326. me because he is anointed me to do what?

  327. To preach the gospel to the poor.

  328. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim

  329. liberty to captives. You know, when, when we are sent

  330. to heal the broken hearted and sometimes we don't do that

  331. right. We tell them how broken we have

  332. been and, and all the things that we have been through and

  333. maybe God didn't come through for us.

  334. No, we're to heal the broken hearted.

  335. But if you're not walking in the spirit of the Lord and you have

  336. not seen some victory, you can heal the broken hearted to

  337. proclaim liberty to the captives to cover this side to the blind

  338. to sit at liberty those who are oppressed to preach the

  339. acceptable year of the Lord. Then he closed the book, he gave

  340. it back to the tendant and he sat down.

  341. What a message Jesus preached in the eyes of all who were in the

  342. synagogue was fixed upon him and he began to say to them, today

  343. the Scripture is fulfilled in you hearing.

  344. But see Jesus walked this walk victoriously and I believe we

  345. can too. I don't know why people want to

  346. go around believing they can't. I want to believe I can.

  347. Amen. I want to live every day that

  348. God's got something great in store for me.

  349. I believe we can walk through life without being addicted and

  350. afflicted. Jesus did it.

  351. I believe the blood that was shed by him on Calvary still

  352. sets people free if they want free.

  353. And Colossians 211 through 15. Let's let's read what this said.

  354. This is a very powerful passage of scripture.

  355. Why can we do this? Why can we walk through this

  356. life victoriously? But I'm going to I'm going to

  357. make a promise to you. If you don't stop dwelling in

  358. the carnality of the thought process of the mind, you will

  359. never be free spiritually, never.

  360. It does not happen. They 2 can't coexist.

  361. But in first in Colossians chapter 2 and verse 11, it says

    Colossians 2 chapter mention

  362. in him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made

  363. without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the

  364. flesh, by the circumcision of Christ buried with Him in

  365. baptism, in which you also were raised with him through faith in

  366. the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

  367. And you being dead in your trespasses and the

  368. uncircumcision of your flesh, He made a live together with Him,

  369. having forgiven you all your trespasses.

  370. Aren't you glad of that having wiped out the handwriting

  371. requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us,

  372. And He has taken it out of the way.

  373. Man, we are. Every morning you get up.

  374. You ought to thank God that the old law is taken out of the way.

  375. You'd to even profess Christ, you would have to get up and do

  376. all these things. But he said that he has taken it

  377. out of the way. Right here's the key.

  378. Having nailed it to the cross, in a few weeks we'll celebrate

  379. that. Having nailed it to the cross,

  380. having disarmed the principalities and the powers,

  381. he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in

  382. it. So let no one judge you.

  383. And he what goes on to talk about the food or drink, the new

  384. moons, the Sabbath, which are shadow of things to come.

  385. Let no one cheat you out of your reward, taking the light and

  386. false humility and the worshipping of angels, intruding

  387. into those things which has not seen vainly puffed up with the

  388. fleshly mind. You can go on to read about that

  389. later. In verse 20.

  390. It says, therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic

  391. principles of the world. This is a good question to ask

  392. yourself. Why, as though living in the

  393. world, do you subject yourself to regulations?

  394. That's a whole nother message. But see, Jesus did this because

  395. he was ordered by the father #2 why can't we walk victoriously?

  396. Hebrews chapter 2, verse 14 and 15.

    Hebrews 2:14

  397. It says that we are released from bondage #2 there's victory

  398. in the sacrifice. And what Jesus did at the cross,

  399. I said there's victory in that. And as much then as the children

  400. have partaken of flesh and blood, he, like He himself

  401. likewise shared in the same, that through death He might

  402. destroy him who had power of death.

  403. That is the devil. See, there's victory in the

  404. sacrifice. Galatians 220 goes on and says

  405. that I have been crucified with Christ.

  406. It is no longer who I who live, but it is Christ who lives

  407. within me. See the life that I now live in

  408. the flesh, I live through the Son of God who loved me and gave

  409. his life for me. He said it.

  410. That's why it's finished. So why does so many keep

  411. fighting a fight that's already been won?

  412. Because see, there's victory in the sacrifice.

  413. Say that with me, there's victory in the sacrifice.

  414. In Second Chronicles chapter 20, we read about this.

    2 Chronicles 20 chapter mention

  415. There was a battle that was going on and I like the way that

  416. this battle took place. It's I preached on it many

  417. times. But in Second Chronicles chapter

    2 Chronicles 20 chapter mention

  418. 20 and verse 5, Jehoshaphat, he, he stood in the assembly of

  419. Judah and Jerusalem in the House of the Lord before the new

  420. court. He was going through a battle

  421. with Amon and Mohab, and he said, Oh Lord our God, our

  422. fathers, are you not God in heaven?

  423. Do you not rule over the kingdoms of the nations?

  424. And in your hand is there not power and might so that no one

  425. is able to withstand you? Are you not not our God, who

  426. drove out the inhabitants of Israel?

  427. And he goes on over and he says, you and our affliction, and you

  428. saved us. And you will hear and say, verse

  429. 11. It says, here they are.

  430. They're rewarding us by coming to throw us out of your

  431. possession, which you have given us to inherit.

  432. They were living in a place that God had given them, but yet they

  433. were coming to take it from them.

  434. Just like the enemy does us when we're to live in life more

  435. abundantly, when we're to live in the great things that God has

  436. given us. The enemy does what he comes and

  437. intrudes on us. For we have no power against

  438. this great multitude that is coming against us, nor do we

  439. know know what to do. But he says this.

  440. He says our eyes are upon you key right there.

  441. And he goes on down. He says, do not be afraid nor

  442. dismayed because of this great multitude.

  443. Anybody see a multitude, the church, if anybody should see a

  444. multitude, that is against them. And we even have churches

  445. joining in where churches are against churches now.

  446. So there is a great multitude against us.

  447. We must realize it. But he says do not be afraid nor

  448. dismayed because this great multitude for the battle is not

  449. yours, but God's man. That can take a lot of stress

  450. off of you. You know, we we need to, we need

  451. to. I'm telling you, the Lord just

  452. give me that today. We got to quit dwelling in the

  453. carnality of the thought process.

  454. What a word. Because when we do, we take all

  455. the battle upon us and it's a battle that you can't win anyway

  456. without the power and the Spirit, Holy Spirit helping you,

  457. right. So many Christians just keep

  458. fighting this fight. He says do not be afraid nor

  459. dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not

  460. yours, but it's God. Tomorrow go down against them.

  461. They will surely come up. I'm in verse 16.

  462. They will surely come up by the ascent of Zeus, and you will

  463. find them at the end of the brook before the wilderness,

  464. Jerusalem. And then what he says here,

  465. you're going to go down here, you're going to position

  466. yourself. See, when I position myself, if

  467. you were asked as a Christian tonight, how are you positioning

  468. yourself? I wonder how many would answer

  469. that. How do I position myself in the

  470. onset of a battle? How do you position yourself?

  471. What do you do? Well, some people say I pray

  472. that's right, that's right, that's right.

  473. Anybody else? How do you position yourself?

  474. Praise a great way, but has anybody ever prayed and not seen

  475. a result? We all have.

  476. But see the difference in this battle.

  477. He's listening. He said my eyes, he First off,

  478. he took his eyes off the battle. He put his eyes on God.

  479. We keep our eyes on the battle, and then we pray to God to fix

  480. what our eyes are already upon. When what you're looking at is

  481. not what God's got in mind anyway, right?

  482. Why? Because we're looking at the

  483. carnal. We're looking at what we what we

  484. see, just like I talked about Sunday.

  485. But when you realize that the battle's not yours, and you

  486. realize that if you're living righteous and you're living for

  487. God and you're living holy, there's another scripture that

  488. says the steps of the righteous man are ordered of God.

  489. So every step I take, I believe is ordered of God.

  490. My life is not my own, but I've been crucified with Christ.

  491. It's no longer I who live when I quit putting the carnality of my

  492. thought process upon it. I become not afraid or dismayed

  493. because of the multitude, because I realized the battle is

  494. not mine. Hey, man, the battle is not

  495. somebody in the battle is not mine.

  496. My health is not in my hands tonight.

  497. My health is not in the doctor's hands tonight.

  498. I I know a lot of folks that walk in the doctor, they said

  499. you got six months. They live 20 more years.

  500. I know those people and you know what they what they'll all tell

  501. you. I got my eyes off the doctor.

  502. I got my eyes on God because my times are in his hands.

  503. And then when you do that, he'll just give you some direction

  504. when he knows your eyes up on him.

  505. So you don't read of I wish there was accounts, but see the

  506. great accounts of people that fought great battles and won

  507. great battles in the Bible. We don't see the carnality of

  508. the mind wrote about it doesn't say here that Jehoshaphat said

  509. well, if I go down to the end of this Creek and I'll wait right

  510. here to position myself, they're going to defeat me.

  511. Those that God did great things that threw in the Bible, David

  512. and all those people David had had committed adultery and

  513. committed murder, but he kept fighting for God, right?

  514. That's why God could use him because he kept fighting.

  515. It wasn't about what he had done.

  516. It was about what he would do for God.

  517. Amen. Somebody needs that tonight.

  518. It's not about what you've done. It's what you can do for God.

  519. But see, he says here, he said just go position yourself by the

  520. brook before the wilderness at Gerbil.

  521. You'll not need to fight in this battle.

  522. We're wore out from fighting. He said just position yourself

  523. and stand still and see the salvation of the Lord who is

  524. with you. I had somebody tell me when are

  525. you going through some mess? You know, it don't seem like

  526. it's affecting. It'll seem like you pray in a

  527. better way. I said ain't my battle, It ain't

  528. my battle. Had a guy come to me one time

  529. Wednesday night. We had way less than here.

  530. Oh, there's these many people leaving the chest.

  531. It's not my battle, that's God's battle.

  532. I preach what God's called me to and I live like God's called me

  533. to live. I position myself in the

  534. finished work of the of of what the Calvary and what Jesus did

  535. and I can see the victory. Though it don't look like

  536. victory, I can still see the victory, right?

  537. You must see the victory to receive the victory.

  538. Most Christians can't see past the fighting to the victory, so

  539. they never get to to be a victory.

  540. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

  541. It's hard to do. It's hard to do something wrong

  542. when you're standing still. I wish got to tell me to stand

  543. still. Sometimes I don't hear that a

  544. lot. You know, when you're preaching

  545. and reaching, you don't hear the stand still a lot, but I have

  546. heard it in fighting battles. It's hard to do wrong when you

  547. stand still and be still and know that He is God.

  548. Always pray, but remember the victory is in what Christ has

  549. already done. It's a finished work at Calvary.

  550. Y'all ready for #3 There's victory in the new creation.

  551. There's victory in the new creation, what God has made

  552. through you and I. There's victory through that

  553. because we can look at the lies. I look around this, but I see

  554. lives that are changed. There's victory in the new

  555. creation that God has made. Ephesians 2 and 10.

  556. It says for we are his. What workmanship created in

  557. Christ Jesus for what for good works.

  558. Ephesians 2 and 10, which God prepared beforehand that we

  559. should walk in them. There's something here when you

  560. quit, get out of the carnality of the mind and you begin to

  561. operate in the things of the Spirit.

  562. There's something that's prepared for us that were to

  563. walk in. He says they for we're his

  564. workmanship created. Let's read that created in

  565. Christ Jesus for what? For good works, which God

  566. prepared beforehand that we should do what?

  567. Walk in them. So how do I walk in them?

  568. Go to 2nd Corinthians 5 and seven.

  569. How do I walk in the good works? Kind of confusing.

  570. It's kind of hard to walk in good things when all you see is

  571. bad, right? It's kind of hard, but that's

  572. where you got to come out of the dwelling place.

  573. We have the carnality of the mind. 2nd Corinthians 5 and

  574. seven. Here's how you do it.

  575. You walk by faith and not by sight.

  576. Think about what you're hoping for.

  577. You're hoping for healing, walking, healing.

  578. You're hoping for blessing, walking, blessing.

  579. Don't speak cursing in your life.

  580. Amen. Anybody ever been broke?

  581. Anybody ever been broke? I was in the rodeo business.

  582. I've drive. I've been broke a lot of times,

  583. but I have refused to ever speak broke because when I speak it, I

  584. bring it on myself. I'm not broke.

  585. I'm just headed to the next thing God's got for me.

  586. I may not see it yet. And you know what He always

  587. comes through, always comes through.

  588. If I were to look at broker spoke broke when we when we

  589. first started the church and bought a building on our own

  590. without any any real support and stuff at first, I'd have been

  591. done a long time ago. But see, God taught me way back

  592. there in the rodeo business how to walk by faith and not by

  593. sight. A man.

  594. We walk by faith and not by sight. 5 and 17.

  595. Let's go on. Let's read a little more of

  596. that. I think verse 8, we are

  597. confident, yes, well pleased to be absent from the body is to be

  598. present with the Lord. That should calm all of our

  599. fears right there, should calm them all.

  600. And in five and 17 it says therefore, if anyone, let's go

  601. to 5 and 17. Therefore, if anyone is in

  602. Christ, He is a new creation. Well, this, this scripture here

  603. just makes me sometimes go to squalling and bawling and trying

  604. to figure my life out because if anyone is in Christ, he is a new

  605. creation. Old things have passed away, old

  606. things since I was 17 years old. I've been trying.

  607. I'm not. I didn't say I've done it.

  608. I didn't say I've succeeded everything I've tried in the

  609. scripture, but I've kept trying. I've kept digging.

  610. Even when I fail, I try harder. Amen.

  611. To become this new creation that I read about, I try to let old

  612. things pass away. And it takes a lot of years

  613. because the world's always creating new things and new ways

  614. to lure us in, right? And it talks about in the Bible

  615. that there's created ways to pull us back into things that

  616. we've never seen, to say they're being created everyday things

  617. that can become sin in our life. But therefore, if anyone is in

  618. Christ, say it with me. He's a new creation.

  619. What's new about you? What's new about you today that

  620. wasn't yesterday. There should be something new

  621. every day, he said. My mercies are fresh and a new

  622. every day. It's kind of like every day you

  623. get out that knife and you begin to whittle on that old stick and

  624. you're going to narrow it and strip everything down and make

  625. it all shiny. But sometimes a knife gets dull.

  626. That's why we have to go hear sermons like this, to sharpen

  627. the knife, to remind us so that we can keep peeling the things

  628. away. If anyone is in Christ, he's a

  629. new creation. Behold, all things have become

  630. new. There's victory in the new

  631. creation. What is the new creation?

  632. It's you and I, and we're to be absolute masters over everything

  633. the enemy throws at us. I believe that I don't like to

  634. have to be drilled in and learn how to defeat him.

  635. We've been given the right to wear the whole armor of God.

  636. Go home if you're struggling. Read Ephesians 6.

  637. We've been given the right to do what to where the whole armor of

  638. God. Read if you're struggling.

  639. We have the nature of God dwelling within us.

  640. But see, here's the cool thing. Satan never when I when I back

  641. up to this three-step plan here I want to read them in closing

  642. number one, he defeated Satan with earthly walk #2 there was

  643. victory in the sacrifice and #3 there's victory in the new

  644. creation. But back to what I said earlier.

  645. Why didn't God just speak and destroy Satan been much easier

  646. and just give us a good life. But Satan had never figured, see

  647. when when they crucified Jesus as Satan never figured on having

  648. to deal face to face with God himself when dealing with men

  649. like Jesus. I don't think Satan never

  650. thought God had that plan. He said, you know what?

  651. I was with God and I failed. So all these humans are going to

  652. fail. They're going to fall short of

  653. the glory of God, which is true. But he had never planned on

  654. dealing with Jesus. He didn't know God's redictive

  655. plan. So when Satan deals with the new

  656. creation, he's dealing with the third person of the Godhead, the

  657. Holy Spirit filled child of God or a woman of God.

  658. And as we close in Galatians 4 and six, it says because you are

  659. sons of God, he has sent forth his spirit of his Son into your

  660. hearts, crying out ABBA Father, therefore you are no longer what

  661. a slave, but a son. And if a son and heir through

  662. Jesus Christ, there's only one one place that Satan belongs in

  663. the life of a child of God. Where's it at behind us and

  664. actually under us are under our feet because there's victory in

  665. the earthly walk. There's victory in the

  666. sacrifice. As you stand tonight, there's

  667. victory in the new creation, which you and I are.

  668. Some cool stuff huh? I got a lot more on this but I

  669. see y'all are getting tired so I'm going to be quiet.

  670. How many can remember the words the Lord give me this afternoon?

  671. We must quit. Would you close your eyes if

  672. it's you and raise your hands as we close Tonight?

  673. I must stop dwelling in the carnality of the thought process

  674. of the mind. Think about that.

  675. How do you know if you're dwelling in the carnality of the

  676. thought process of the mind? How do I, how would you know

  677. that as well? How, what, how, what am I

  678. dwelling in? I'm going to give you a good

  679. example. When you know, sometimes I, when

  680. you're looking at something and you scrolling, anybody ever do

  681. that? And you're dwelling on something

  682. in your mind and you might see something that's good, but at

  683. that particular time, that's not what you're looking for.

  684. You've done heard something bad about somebody.

  685. I don't even have that. I don't even do that.

  686. But I found a little bit of somebody will send me something

  687. on Facebook. And if it's good and I know it's

  688. coming from, I don't have Facebook so I'll, I'll have to

  689. look on the 1:00 my wife's got and I can pull up what they sent

  690. me and read if it's real important, if it's something

  691. good, I will. Thanks for listening to the
