  1. Welcome to the cross power church podcast you're listening

  2. to a service from our church in Campbell, TX.

  3. We pray this message strengthens your faith and points you to the

  4. cross. Now let's join the service and

  5. good to be in the House of the Lord this morning.

  6. And I was sharing with a guy the other day.

  7. He was sharing with me and he travels around to a lot of

  8. churches, goes to a lot of places and, and he said I, he

  9. said I found that some churches, you know, he said the Bible says

  10. we're two or three are gathered that what he's in the midst.

  11. He said, I fear there's some denominations that have adopted

  12. where 3 or 4 are gathered. There's usually 1/5 and some of

  13. y'all will catch that later. But how many know the

  14. denomination? You got to say it glad to be in

  15. the House of the Lord today but if you have your Bible is going

  16. to be in second Corinthians chapter 4 and 16 and 18 do some

    2 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  17. reading but got something the Lord laid on my heart.

  18. I've been putting together for a while here today and there was a

  19. wise man. He once said if you were 40.

  20. He wasn't real wise. He seems 40 is where everything

  21. hits right for a lot of people. The aches, the pains, the the

  22. thoughts of maybe the afterlife, the thoughts that your life is

  23. maybe half over. There's a lot of thought.

  24. How many? How many's hit 40?

  25. Did you have some thoughts that you never had?

  26. You not 40. I remember when you were 16.

  27. Makes me feel old. But a wise man was said if you

  28. were 40, if you were 40, don't waste time wishing you could be

  29. 18 again. I wouldn't want to go back to

  30. 18. I was a little confused at 18.

  31. How about y'all? But he said, if you were 40,

  32. don't waste time wishing you could go back to 18 again.

  33. Instead, imagine you're 90. Imagine you're 90 and just woke

  34. up back at 40 with 50 more years ahead of you.

  35. What would you do? Puts it in perspective, doesn't

  36. it? What would you do?

  37. You're 41 is coming. I titled this I want to look at

  38. this today because see 41 is coming the day.

  39. It all ends. 40 represents a lot of things in the Bible, but day

  40. 41 is what I want to preach to you about.

  41. There's there's a lot of people went through some 40 days, some

  42. 40 nights, some 40 years. I can't tell you when your trial

  43. will end. I can't tell you when you're 41

  44. is coming. I can only tell you that it's on

  45. the way. Can I get a witness you're 41 is

  46. coming when the Messians when the trials of this life are over

  47. the the the burdens that you're bearing or been bearing the

  48. prayers that you're praying for children and loved ones and and

  49. the things in this life that seem to not be getting answered,

  50. loved ones that seem to not be responding to the prayers that

  51. you're praying. I always believe God answers

  52. prayer. I've said it many times.

  53. Sometimes it's sometimes it's yes, sometimes it's no.

  54. Sometimes it's wait a while till you see it and sometimes our

  55. prayers are doing a lot. It's just the people that we're

  56. praying for is not responding, right?

  57. They have not responded, but it's Second Corinthians.

  58. That's why we have to do this in Second Corinthians chapter 4,

    2 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  59. let's stand in the reading of the word and verse 16.

  60. Many have titled these few verses as seeing the invisible.

  61. How do you see the invisible? You want with the naked eye, but

  62. with the spiritual eyes. I've been preaching for several

  63. weeks now on Wednesday Now it's about believing that which you

  64. cannot see which, but a lot of Christians have never stepped

  65. into that realm because we operate wear and fear and doubt.

  66. But in Second Corinthians chapter 4 verse 16, it says

    2 Corinthians 4:16

  67. therefore we did not lose heart. Anybody ever lost heart?

  68. It's easy to lose heart on some things in this life.

  69. When you look around. Even though our outward man is

  70. perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

  71. I like that. It's a daily walk.

  72. You can't look at yesterday. You can't look because you're

  73. not promised tomorrow. All you can do is live where

  74. you're at. Say it with me today.

  75. What would life be like? The inward man is being renewed

  76. day by day for our light affliction.

  77. Sometimes it don't feel like, does it, which is, but for a

  78. moment it's doing something, he said.

  79. It's working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of

  80. glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but

  81. at the things which are not seen.

  82. For the things which you're seeing.

  83. We got to get this this morning, the things which you're seeing,

  84. if you're a child of God, I like to put that in there because if

  85. you're not a child of God this morning, I've got, I can't tell

  86. you it's going to change. I can't tell you there's a lot

  87. of hope maybe in this life you'll be rich and, and you'll

  88. do all the things you want to do, but there's coming a day

  89. that it will not work. There's coming a day that it's

  90. going to be tested. And he says that the things

  91. which you're seeing are temporary, but the things which

  92. you're not seeing that you can't see are going to last for

  93. eternity, Forever. What a promise, what a hope.

  94. You're 41 is coming. If you don't give up, Father, we

  95. come before you. We thank You for Your word once

  96. again that Your word is truth. It's life to a lost and dying

  97. world. We thank You for the hope we

  98. have in this life. I pray today we would close our

  99. eyes and look with our spiritual eyes and our life and our family

  100. and the circumstances and the things that we face on a daily

  101. basis and help us to realize, Father, that it's only

  102. temporary. It's about to change.

  103. Our 41 is coming if we do not give up in the desert.

  104. Our 41 is coming if we obey God and keep His commandments.

  105. We have a blessed promise that the things that we see are only

  106. temporary. It's in Your Son's name.

  107. I asked for the anointing to preach once again, Amen.

  108. I think about this number 48. A man was commanded to build an

  109. ark in a place that if you know your Bible, help me today That

  110. it had never rained. But we're going to build an ark.

  111. Why? Because he he could see

  112. something that they could not see with their fleshly eye.

  113. And it rained for 40 days and 40 nights.

  114. But I, I want you to help me this morning.

  115. But day 41, the rain stopped Moses committed murder.

  116. Think about it, committed murder.

  117. The very man that God would use to lead his his chosen children

  118. out of bondage and out of the out of a place into a promised

  119. land. Moses committed murder and then

  120. hid in the desert for what, 40 years?

  121. On year 41, when it came, God called him to do what?

  122. To rescue his children. God dealt with him.

  123. See 40 was a very significant number in Scripture.

  124. Moses went up to the mountains for how long 40 days and on day

  125. what 41 God give him the 10 commandments.

  126. The Israelites wandered around the wilderness which you can go

  127. over there and they say not even a man in shape can walk it in 13

  128. to 20 days. But yet they wandered in a

  129. circle around the same mountain they had their eyes up on and

  130. the trials in their life. They wandered around it for 40

  131. years, but year 41 came some, some died out there.

  132. And they walked where? Into the promised land.

  133. Goliath taught it. Israel for how long?

  134. 40 days. But day 41 came and what

  135. happened? David defeated the giant.

  136. We look at Jonah, the great prophet.

  137. He preached a message of repentance to Nineveh.

  138. For how long? 40 days and on day 41 God

  139. stopped his plan to destroy them.

  140. We look at the life of Jesus upon this earth.

  141. Jesus fasted and was tempted help me for 40 days and on day

  142. 41 the devil fled from him right after Jesus resurrection.

  143. What happened? Jesus appeared to his disciples.

  144. Help me 40 days and on day 41 he ascends into heaven.

  145. I come by to tell you the rain will stop, the giant will fall

  146. and you will enter the promised land as long as you keep walking

  147. toward day 41, you're 41 is coming.

  148. In Romans chapter 8 verse 37 and 9, it says yet this is a big key

    Romans 8:37

  149. to get into 40. What it's there.

  150. There is a promise from God that it will stop.

  151. The Bible says that trials only come for a season.

  152. It depends on how we respond to the season and how we get out of

  153. the season and how we keep moving forward.

  154. So I want to give you some of these things today, and Romans

  155. 830, 27 is a great place to start.

  156. It says in all things we are more than conquerors.

  157. I got to realize that in my life, in all things we are more

  158. than conquerors. Right through him who loved us,

  159. the apostle Paul says, For I'm persuaded that neither death nor

  160. life, man, what a God we serve, neither death nor life, nor

  161. angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things to come, nor

  162. heights, nor depth, nor any other boy like this right here.

  163. You know, years ago I couldn't, I couldn't figure out this

  164. because it says any other created thing.

  165. Hello. I grew up in an age of no phones

  166. and somebody created it, right? I drew, I grew up in a day that

  167. if you, if you had your keys in your hand, you knew you had to

  168. start your car. Now you don't even have to have

  169. the keys to start them. I forget to put the key in and I

  170. don't start it. So when I get out, I leave it

  171. running to my wife's because I don't have a key.

  172. My mind was programmed. The key does it right.

  173. But created thing, what is the enemy created in the spirit

  174. world, man, we could go on and on.

  175. There's things that were that's created today that can cause you

  176. and I to lose sight that that our ancestors people even 10

  177. years ago didn't have to deal with right.

  178. Satan just creeps in. He creeps in, he creeps in and

  179. he says neither heights nor depth nor any other say it with

  180. me. Created thing shall be able to

  181. separate us from the love of God.

  182. It didn't say, it wouldn't get me to follow it, but it said,

  183. and when I do fall, when I do fail, that my God still loves

  184. me. You cannot separate me from his

  185. love. His love is an endless love and

  186. it reaches out and touches me this morning, which is in Christ

  187. Jesus our Lord. But wait a minute.

  188. There's this great word called temptations.

  189. If Christians could get past, if I could get past the temptation,

  190. pastor, I can serve the Lord. Maybe God's using the temptation

  191. to get you to serve God right. See, we have this word back that

  192. back because a temptation we think of is what when I say

  193. temptation, what's the second thing comes to your mind?

  194. A sin, something that's out there that you can't do that the

  195. flesh wants to do right. Listen to me young people.

  196. The flesh wants to do it because it.

  197. The pleasures of sin are for a season.

  198. The enemy comes to us with something we can taste, touch,

  199. feel and see, and he begins to attack the spirit man.

  200. Right. Y'all ain't helping me this

  201. morning. So what are temptations?

  202. It's not just sin when we look this word up in the Hebrew.

  203. It's to test or to prove or to try.

  204. Isn't that cool? It's not just that sin out there

  205. that you're wanting to do. The church said you can't do or

  206. the Bible says you can't do. It is a test to prove or to try

  207. you a trial to test 1's faithfulness to God, right,

  208. rather than just an enticement to sin.

  209. So the next time you see it, you got to realize it's not just a

  210. temptation. It's something.

  211. It's a test that's put in my way, right?

  212. Because day 41 is coming if I do not fail in the hour of

  213. temptation. See, your greatest temptation

  214. will come. Anybody ever been tempted by the

  215. devil? What comes with the greatest

  216. temptation? Every time in my life, when I

  217. look back, the greatest temptations in my life, no

  218. matter what it was past the drug, sex and alcohol when we

  219. were young, past the past the lust of the the the new things

  220. and I'll past all that. There's always something there.

  221. What is it? The greatest joke?

  222. Somebody been listening? I've preached this before.

  223. The greatest justification, right?

  224. What keeps you from repenting? You justified.

  225. It's OK, right? It's OK, but it's still a test

  226. that God put there. And until you get over that test

  227. and the more you grow, the more you're not going to find the

  228. test that you're going through written in Scripture because we

  229. overcome the main things that's in the 10 commandments, right?

  230. We're not going to go out and kill.

  231. We're not going to go out and commit adultery.

  232. We're not going to go out there. So God moves us up here to

  233. another level. See, because they were under a

  234. law, but you're in the covenant and Jesus said I didn't come to

  235. a know of the law. I came to make the covenant of

  236. more effect in your life where when you look at the temptation

  237. and you realize it's just a test.

  238. And if I pass this test, my God's about to elevate me to day

  239. 41 and day 41. There's some great things about

  240. to happen in my life, but I get hung up on the little

  241. temptation. See it's rooted in everlasting

  242. character or trust. It comes from the Hebrew word of

  243. Nisha to test. To prove, See, in the Bible,

  244. temptation is rarely just a lure.

  245. You know what a lure is, You throw it out there and you throw

  246. it out there in the pond, a lure and you catch a fish.

  247. He's tempted and he has to bite it, but there's a big old hook

  248. on it. We tell you all the people catch

  249. coyote, say they call it cruel, shooting them.

  250. But some of them will take a big old piece of meat, put it on a

  251. treble hook, hang it from a tree and let the cow grab it and hang

  252. a while. Then shooting, which is

  253. crueller. See, it's the lure.

  254. And the Bible temptation is rarely just a lure to do evil.

  255. Get this, Write this down. But it's fundamentally a trial

  256. or opportunity to choose between obedience and disobedience.

  257. Why did the children of Israel spend 40 years and come out year

  258. 41 in the desert? Because they didn't obey God,

  259. God had a plan to get them to point from point A to point B.

  260. You, you want this morning or you're looking for 41 today?

  261. How many is there? Am I the only one?

  262. We all need a day 41 our life a time to come.

  263. That's much easier than where we are today.

  264. How do we get there? Trust and obey.

  265. First Thessalonians chapter 5. We have to read this First

    1 Thessalonians 5 chapter mention

  266. Thessalonians 5 and 18 we read of how to get out of this.

  267. He says that in everything we fail right here.

  268. In everything, give thanks. That's hard.

  269. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God, in who

  270. Christ Jesus, for who you, in everything, give thanks.

  271. That's hard to do. I haven't mastered it yet.

  272. Anybody want to give a testimony this morning?

  273. Have you mastered it? We give thanks after the

  274. complaining, after the question of why to God, we give thanks on

  275. a later date, right? Give thanks, God, I don't

  276. understand it. I don't know why I'm going

  277. through it, but I thank you that you're giving me strength to

  278. make it through the journey. Let's go to that next verse.

  279. It says do not quench the spirit because when you don't give

  280. thanks, you quench the spirit. And well, pastor, I can't give

  281. thanks with the pain. I can't give thanks with a bad

  282. report. I can't give thanks when I when

  283. I'm not in the mood to give thanks.

  284. God don't care what mood you're in, Give thanks.

  285. Because when you don't give thanks, what does he say right

  286. here in verse 19, He tells us to don't quench the spirit.

  287. But when you don't give thanks, you quench the Spirit of God.

  288. The next verse 20, do not despise prophecies.

  289. Somebody walk up to you. There may be up here in the

  290. Lord. You're maybe down here, you

  291. know, there's, we're all at different levels.

  292. There's days you own different level than me.

  293. There's days I'm different. These days we need him on the

  294. level. Can I get a witness?

  295. And somebody come up and give you a prophecy and a word.

  296. And you know, you're like, I know that I've read that.

  297. I was taught that I was taught the first song in Sunday school,

  298. that Jesus loves me this. I know the Bible tells me so.

  299. But somewhere in this busy life, we forget that prophecy.

  300. Come on. Well, I don't feel like it.

  301. That's despising A prophecy. Somebody comes and gives you a

  302. word. Brother days are going to get in

  303. all they're not. You don't understand what I'm

  304. going. Don't despise prophecies.

  305. Don't despise what somebody's speaking, you know, prophecy.

  306. We get all freaked out and weird when somebody says a prophecy.

  307. It's just a word of God over your life.

  308. It's that hard. Jesus loves you.

  309. God told me that you're going to pray for somebody and they're

  310. going to get well. God told me you got great

  311. things. That's a prophecy.

  312. That is a spoken positive word in Christ is what?

  313. Don't despise them, receive them.

  314. Amen. I had a guy tell me one time to

  315. preach, man, I'm going to pray for you, brother.

  316. He said in a condescending way. And I said please do.

  317. I didn't despise the prophecy. Verse 21.

  318. I like this. See, some folk don't test

  319. nothing because they've never heard of it.

  320. Can I say, well, I can preach to the Baptist Church this morning,

  321. get more Amens, test all things. Test them what?

  322. Worked for me, may not work for you.

  323. Hello I've had to take my shirt off and sweat and walk around

  324. the house and outside my fence and plead the blood of Jesus.

  325. Maybe maybe you can't walk that far you sweat you get sick or

  326. something. See what worked for me may not

  327. work for you. But yet Christians here what

  328. worked for brother so and so over here and we going to go try

  329. just because they said it worked.

  330. What worked for them may not work for I don't understand it,

  331. but I test all things if it's in the Bible.

  332. Test it. Amen.

  333. Test it. Hold fast to what works.

  334. Hold what's good, throw out what don't.

  335. I never forget in the rodeo, in the rodeo world, you know there

  336. was a right way to do thing. You had muscle memory because

  337. when the gate opened, you didn't have time to adjust and correct

  338. anything. You operate you.

  339. You were you. It was all reaction.

  340. You had to do what you had trained your, your, your muscle

  341. memory, your, your subconscious mind to do and it would begin to

  342. react. There was no way to change it,

  343. right? And if I had started doing and

  344. it, you know, I could see somebody doing.

  345. I had some of the best in the world, Bob and Bruce Ford

  346. teaching me that. But yet when I see somebody else

  347. doing something, the guy told me, I said I'd do it that way.

  348. And the guy told me what they said.

  349. You can learn something from everybody.

  350. I may take what didn't work from you from them and apply to my

  351. life and change something in my life.

  352. I may see somebody doing some little something.

  353. It's a figuring out what he's talking about.

  354. Test all things, hold fast to the good.

  355. There's going to be some bad. Don't dwell on it.

  356. Let it go and everything's give thanks for this is what the will

  357. of God in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit.

  358. Do not despise prophecy. Test all things, hold fast to

  359. what is good. And here's the key right here in

  360. that last verse, it says abstain from every kind of evil.

  361. See, the number 40 consistently symbolizes a period of testing

  362. when you read it all through the Bible.

  363. The number 40 symbolizes a testing, a probation, a

  364. purification, often marking a significant thing of transition.

  365. A change Christians don't like see that's why a lot of people

  366. never grow because they don't test things.

  367. They don't try things. They they they know what one

  368. man, one person told him 1520 forty 50 years ago and they

  369. still do the same old thing transition or judgment appearing

  370. over 100. This is pretty unique right here

  371. appearing over 150 times in the Bible 40.

  372. It represents the time required. I like you won't know what it

  373. really represents the time required to prepare for a new

  374. important phase or fulfillment of God's promises.

  375. That's what it's doing. I can't tell you if it's forty

  376. weeks. I can't tell you if it's forty

  377. days, 40 years, 40 months. I can't tell you if it's this

  378. side of help me heaven. But see Noah's 40 days wasn't

  379. just to survive. I got to get on the boat.

  380. Y'all got to get on the boat to survive.

  381. That wasn't what it was really about, was just Noah surviving.

  382. It was who would obey God and believe that what he said was

  383. about to happen. It's very symbolic of the

  384. rapture of the church. Amen.

  385. If you don't get on the gospel ship, you're going to get wiped

  386. out. You're going to be left here and

  387. then God's going to purify this earth.

  388. That's what it's about. It's not about the sin that's

  389. all being committed and all that.

  390. God's going to wipe it out because he's already conquered

  391. sin, hell, death and the grave, right?

  392. So Noah's 40 days wasn't just to get out and survive.

  393. What was it? It was much deeper than that.

  394. It was marking A purification. Oh, God, how we need it today.

  395. It was marking a purification of the earth.

  396. That said, God looked down and he seen that which he was

  397. created was so bad that he knew that it was better off dead.

  398. I guess I don't know. But God did away with it, right?

  399. And he promised he'd never do it again by water.

  400. But when we look, we look at Saul and David.

  401. And Solomon each each rain lasted how long?

  402. 40 years. Day 41's coming or year 41's

  403. coming in your life. It's a symbol of new beginnings.

  404. See Day 41. The rain stopped the Israel

  405. entered the promised land and David did defeat his giants.

  406. You're 41's coming. Don't give up.

  407. Amen. Keep keep pressing on as a child

  408. of God. You're 41's coming.

  409. How many is ready for it? You ready for the truth?

  410. That all sounds good, but many never make it to 41.

  411. Many get stuck somewhere between 1 and 40.

  412. Many don't see 41 this side of heaven.

  413. I want to look at why Philippians 3 and 12 through 16,

  414. the Apostle Paul said not that I have already attained.

  415. I read that. I begin to think not that I

  416. there's a lot of people that never reach 41 because they

  417. think that they've already helped me attained.

  418. How many Christians think that they've already attained?

  419. They don't test the spirits. They despise the prophecies

  420. because somewhere along the way they've got trapped in this

  421. little mentality of how mom and daddy or grandma and grandpa

  422. were raised. I tell my kids all the time when

  423. they were growing up, I said don't just don't just go listen

  424. to me. Go listen to somebody else.

  425. Go gather what the Spirit said. If you can't go to this church,

  426. go to a church, go get fed the word of God somewhere.

  427. Amen. Because you got to be fed.

  428. But we think we've already attained.

  429. It's salvation. Many people think they've

  430. already attained and water baptism.

  431. We go a step farther. Come on, we think we already.

  432. Have attained or am already perfected, He said people never

  433. get to 41 because they think they've already attained, but

  434. yet they're still stuck in the trial.

  435. They're still stuck in waiting on God to do something, just

  436. like the children of Israel. God, you're feeding us from

  437. heaven. Just lead us out of this trial.

  438. God said no, you're going to obey me to get out of this

  439. trial. Many never get there because we

  440. think we've already attained or I'm already perfected, or maybe

  441. we even fall. But what does the apostle Paul

  442. do? He says I press on.

  443. Christians need to press on. If you're ever going to get to

  444. 41, you got to press on. It doesn't matter what you're

  445. listening to right now, what you're watching, what you're

  446. here, what's going on in your life, how how you got sin that's

  447. raining in your mortal body. It doesn't matter.

  448. You got to press on. Anybody remembering as a

  449. teenager, you go to church and you hear all this and boy, you'd

  450. leave. You say, come on, I got to try

  451. about all the I got to try not to do all these things.

  452. And then come Monday, Tuesday, some some people still there

  453. even as adults. And then we go out, we fail.

  454. Boys can't just just a struggle because the Bible says it's a

  455. little things hanging off of us. It's so easily beset.

  456. US. But what do you got to do?

  457. You got to press on. But the devil convinces you in

  458. your mind that you can't press on because you failed press on.

  459. That I may lay hold of that which Christ Jesus has already

  460. laid hold of for me isn't that powerful.

  461. If I keep pressing on, there's something that I can lay hold

  462. of. And when you get a hold of him,

  463. don't never let him go. Hey man, keep pressing on.

  464. Jesus has also laid of hold of my brother and I do not count

  465. myself to have apprehended, but the one thing I do.

  466. Somebody needs this. This morning is forgetting those

  467. things which are behind. So many people can't serve God

  468. because they remember the things that are behind them more than

  469. what God's got on Day 41 and reaching forward to those things

  470. which are ahead. Here it is again, he says.

  471. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God

  472. in Christ Jesus. But one thing I do is I press

  473. on. There's a little verse in

  474. Proverbs chapter 24 and 16 I read this week that got a hold

    Proverbs 24 chapter mention

  475. of me. It says for a righteous man may

  476. fall 7 times, but the wicked, when they fall it's by calamity.

  477. I begin to think about that. What does that mean?

  478. To you the righteous man may fall.

  479. God knew we would fall, that's why he give us.

  480. Somebody help me grace. But the wicked fall by calamity,

  481. which is disaster, distress, pain with no hope.

  482. But what happens when a righteous man falls?

  483. There's something that I got there when a righteous man

  484. falls. Anybody ever fell?

  485. Anybody ever fell on their Christian walk?

  486. Y'all got it all figured out this morning?

  487. I ain't got it figured out. But see, I'm standing right to

  488. fall. What has to happen?

  489. I got to be standing but yet I fall, but I can get up 7 * 1 for

  490. every day of the week, right? A righteous man may fall, but

  491. see, I can't fall unless I was standing, so God must be moving

  492. and in my life if I'm standing, right?

  493. So I got to keep moving, I got to keep getting up to get to day

  494. 41. But if I fall and I believe the

  495. lies of the enemy, I will stay down.

  496. I got to be standing to fall. So you were standing, you fell.

  497. Just get up. That's how hard this Christian

  498. walk, when you get up and you don't water in the distress of

  499. this life and the sins that so easily beset us.

  500. If you just keep getting up, just keep pressing on, one of

  501. these days you're going to run out of that mess.

  502. Amen. I think of the story, the old

  503. donkey that fell in the well. Anybody ever heard that story?

  504. Y'all all heard it and ain't going to tell.

  505. It's long. How many more hear it?

  506. That's like sitting around dinner.

  507. Tell you why. So you already told that.

  508. I used to remember the ones I told, but I'm under the age I

  509. can't remember if I told it again and if I have told it, I

  510. said, well, it's going to get better this time.

  511. Bob Thomas said don't ever let the truth get in the way of a

  512. good story. But see behind the pulpit.

  513. I can't do that. Hey man, is it OK if it really

  514. don't affect nobody? I asked God that.

  515. I said if I make the story better and it's not true, does

  516. it really? Does it affect?

  517. He said truth always prevails right but the story of the old

  518. donkey he farmer had a donkey, big old mule.

  519. He fell in this well they didn't know was out there and he fell

  520. in there. Y'all know what happened and he

  521. couldn't get him out He said he's old he's crippled anyway

  522. let's leave him in there so he called all of his neighbors.

  523. He said look, I got old sister and I need to fill up and old

  524. donkey fell in and he's about half dead anyway, we're going to

  525. throw all this trash on him and they would drop a garbage sack

  526. in there. Boy, how nasty would that be?

  527. And they said the old donkey would just shake it off and

  528. he'd. Stomp on it, compact it, and

  529. rise a little higher. The next day they brought some

  530. old brush and junk in her throat on him.

  531. He stomped on it, said he rose a little higher.

  532. They just kept piling stuff. See, that's the hope we have as

  533. a child of God, when the world keeps piling it on top of it, if

  534. you'll just step on it and keep pressing on.

  535. And they said one day they threw enough in there that the old

  536. donkey just got up and walked out of the sister.

  537. See, that's the hope we have. As a child of God, if you'll

  538. just stomp on it and know that he's placed it under the soles

  539. of your feet. Come on, somebody, if you'll

  540. keep getting up, you're 41 is coming.

  541. You can't stay down. You're a child of God.

  542. How do I keep getting up? How do I make it?

  543. 40 days, 40 weeks, 40 years. The truth is, we can't.

  544. We can't choose the time. We have to keep marching toward

  545. 41. But I can live in hope of it,

  546. right? I can live in the hope of day

  547. 41. You're 41.

  548. The day that it's over. The day that God chooses to send

  549. breakthrough. If I keep pressing on, you know,

  550. the things me and my wife been going through, the devil tries

  551. to get us not to press on. Sometimes bad reports and don't

  552. press on. You know, I told the devil the

  553. other day, I said I really can't believe it's went this far.

  554. We got another bad reporting, have to take you.

  555. I said I can't believe it's went this far because I'm looking to

  556. a God that I know at any minute can speak and the situation can

  557. stop. So when he comes to me, I know

  558. just because it hasn't, I know that God can sitting there at

  559. 10:00 last night, some people that used to go to church here

  560. faithfully. My father-in-law came here for

  561. several years off and on. I got a call one day.

  562. It was a busy busy day. Anybody ever have them?

  563. But see the devil don't quit. He wants you to quit pressing

  564. on. He don't want the 41 to come.

  565. But I get a text at 10:00. Haven't talked to him in over a

  566. year. Don't know why they quit coming

  567. to church. But while they were coming, the

  568. father-in-law came some and he was diagnosed with some kind of

  569. bad, bad, bad cancer. And I was busy and it was a bad

  570. day for me to go pray for somebody.

  571. Anybody ever got it like that? But I said I ain't going today.

  572. You know what the enemy did? They ain't been coming to church

  573. anyway. Why do you need to go pray for

  574. them? That's the enemy.

  575. I said I'm going to press on. I'm going to love, though I

  576. don't feel like loving. Today I stopped by here after

  577. work and got some annoying woman come to the house and I went to

  578. the house and and I just got on the way over.

  579. I said God help me because I don't feel like this is where

  580. I'm supposed to be right now. God said this is where you're

  581. supposed to be. You pray a prayer of faith and

  582. you believe it had already had all these bad reports.

  583. And I went in there and the Spirit of God fell upon that

  584. place and I anointed with oil and I prayed for it.

  585. Hadn't seen him over a year and a half, hadn't really thought

  586. about it. I just did what God told me to

  587. do that day. And I got a call last night that

  588. said he went to the doctor, hadn't seen him over a year and

  589. a half and said he's cancer free of the bad stuff.

  590. I give it to God, I obey God. What do you?

  591. Think the devil said to me sitting there last night, you

  592. can pray for somebody else but your own family.

  593. Why even pick up the mic? Why if you can't heal your own

  594. if I ain't healing anybody anyways?

  595. What I told you know, he comes that if you came here, I said.

  596. I didn't do it anyway. I pray the prayer of faith.

  597. I can't tell you if God's going to heal you, but I can tell you

  598. one thing I can do is I can pray a prayer of faith that I can

  599. pray it without doubting and I can let God begin to work in

  600. your life. Amen.

  601. And if he decides that you're 40, if he says day 40, you're 40

  602. is right now you can step into you're 41, but I can tell you if

  603. you don't keep believing for it, you'll never receive it.

  604. You're 41 is coming. Steps to 41.

  605. The day it's over. Think about that.

  606. The rapture, the day I don't have to pray anymore.

  607. I'm thankful I can pray. But can I tell you, for me,

  608. there's coming a day I'm not going to have to pray anymore.

  609. There's coming a day that I ain't going to have to believe

  610. anymore. There's coming today that faith

  611. is going to end. Insight.

  612. Think about it. If you could see Jesus today,

  613. your faith would be over. You wouldn't have to believe for

  614. it. But that day is coming when he

  615. reveals himself because it says when we the Holy Ghost, just

  616. give me this, when we see him, we shall do what we shall be

  617. like him. Oh, what a promise we have when

  618. we see Jesus. What a day that will.

  619. Be now I'm going to close and I'm going to give you 3 steps to

  620. this getting today 41 Write this down.

  621. Stop reliving and regretting the past.

  622. You don't ever forget it. Your past broken promises,

  623. broken relationships, and the things that the enemy has placed

  624. in your life, you don't ever forget it, but don't relive it.

  625. Don't regret it because it's what God used to get you where

  626. you're at today. Learn from it and move on and

  627. learn how to never be there again.

  628. That's what champions do Learn from it.

  629. The greatest lesson you can learn from a bad past situation

  630. is how you got in it and how to never be in it again.

  631. Not to think that I've already attained.

  632. I was talking about my little, my big nephew.

  633. He ain't little no more. But the other day and he said he

  634. weighed 180. I said you caught me, I'm 179.

  635. If I take my belt off, I try to stay at 179.

  636. He said I'm 180. I said, but you're a sophomore.

  637. And I said you need to be about 200 by ball season.

  638. And his dad agreed with me and I said.

  639. I don't know if you caught this, but I said I said you get that

  640. 200. I said when they hit you, it

  641. won't go back as far. You know the verse I was

  642. preaching on about while ago about I've already apprehended.

  643. He said this 180 didn't go back and his daddy said I would taste

  644. it. He said when you tackle him and

  645. you go this way, that's going back.

  646. He said I want you to go this way.

  647. As a freshman he led the team and tackle the district,

  648. whatever state he was way up there.

  649. But the but see, sometimes we're like that, but we learn how to

  650. not ever be there. That extra £20, you're going to

  651. need it. Somebody going to hit you, they

  652. going to need it. Kind of like a little boy that

  653. comes to the rodeo. One time he told Bob and them he

  654. said they asked him if he fights.

  655. Oh yeah, I'm a fighter. I can fight.

  656. I ain't never been whooped. Bob looked at me and said you

  657. must pick your fights pretty good.

  658. That's the way a lot of Christians are.

  659. They pick the fights they know they can win them with the devil

  660. and it's the one he's destroying you with that you refuse to

  661. fight. Stop reliving and regretting the

  662. past. Second thing, y'all ready for

  663. this? Stop worrying about the future.

  664. Stop worrying about the future. I got a call yesterday from a

  665. guy that I partnered with some Coon dogs on and he's he's been

  666. he told me he said five years ago, he said two more years.

  667. I'm done. He works nights crazy shift.

  668. He's been doing it for a long time and he said as soon as my

  669. house paid off, I said I'm done. He paid his house off 3 years

  670. ago and he's still doing it. He said I just want to hunt.

  671. I said, I said you got to quit worrying about the future.

  672. I got to stack some more away. I got to I got to yesterday he

  673. called me. He had to get hauled out of the

  674. woods. He had to call his wife to come

  675. and get him hunting by himself the other night.

  676. He's short of breath and he went and his one of his aortas has a

  677. has a somebody help me has blockage in it aneurysm.

  678. But see, we worry about the future.

  679. When's enough enough When do we live?

  680. Somebody needs to ask yourself that.

  681. Stop worrying about the future. Psychologists have done studies

  682. that prove that this is high high percentage.

  683. I think it would even be higher than that in my life, 85% of

  684. what we actually worry about on a daily basis.

  685. Say it with me never happens. How much time do we spend on

  686. that instead of thinking about what God could do?

  687. It's a waste of time and energy. What if rules our mind, you know

  688. the next one. I think we rules even more than

  689. what if? What if they?

  690. What if they, what if they? It could have been so much

  691. worse. Everybody tell a story that and

  692. they say, oh. It could have been so much.

  693. But it wasn't. I want to scream that to people.

  694. It hurt them. It did the oh, thank God, it

  695. could have been so much worse, but it wasn't.

  696. And church folk, Christian folk are the worst.

  697. We supposed to have the most faith.

  698. I got a guy, I'm not sure he he knows Jesus died on the cross.

  699. That's about the extent of it, but he knows he's a Heather.

  700. But I like to call him on Monday morning because there's some

  701. positive there. He's a positive, he's a

  702. positive. He looks for the good more than

  703. a lot of church folk I know. Tell them a story, boy.

  704. They fell down the stairs and it's sprained their ankle.

  705. Oh God, that could have broke their leg.

  706. That was a bone sticking out. No, it just sprained their

  707. ankle. It's a waste of time, energy.

  708. Oh, it could have been so much worse, but it could have been so

  709. much better. If you listen to the voice of

  710. God, I recall many times headed to a rodeo, the voice of God

  711. said don't go, you're not going to win, don't go, but I would.

  712. You've been there, didn't want to go, but this horse is ranked.

  713. But if I don't go, they're going to think I'm a Sissy.

  714. You say you're walking back and you accomplished what you wanted

  715. to accomplish, but your body's hurt for four days.

  716. You wasn't a Sissy, but you spent a lot of money to get

  717. there knowing you wasn't going to win on him.

  718. Had a judge tell me, they said, man, you turned this horse.

  719. I said I rode that horse five times.

  720. I proved I could ride him. I said, you know how many times

  721. I went on him? None.

  722. So the sixth time I learned, I said, so why would I go get on

  723. him if you're not going to let me win on him?

  724. Why are you telling me that? It's proven?

  725. But it's what they might think, right?

  726. It could have been so much worse.

  727. Thank God it wasn't. Many can't believe I like this

  728. right here. Many can't believe when it's

  729. good. You know, yesterday when I got

  730. that call and I said the cancer is healed, I didn't ask how many

  731. rounds of what he had. He said I can tell you this.

  732. The doctor walked in and told him it was nothing that I did.

  733. They said that he did. The doctor, he said it's nothing

  734. I did. He said it was all God.

  735. I've seen people pray for people.

  736. In the church. And say, well it may hurt you a

  737. little bit longer. And it may, but I ain't got to

  738. say it. I got to believe what I'm what,

  739. what did I open with? I got to believe what I don't

  740. see. Quit looking for the bad.

  741. So stop reliving and regretting if you want your day 41.

  742. Stop worrying about the future that you can't control.

  743. You ready for #3 Stop looking for happiness in other people.

  744. We do that because it will not happen.

  745. It'll only be temporary. Philippians one and six that

  746. says being confident of this very thing.

  747. As you stand your feet today, being confident of this very

  748. thing, he says that he who has begun a good work in you will

  749. complete it. I got to be confident in that.

  750. I don't know how he's going to do it from point A to point B,

  751. but how many know God started something in you?

  752. I may not be what I what I need to be.

  753. I may not be pressing on, but God started it and I can be

  754. confident that what He starts, He completes.

  755. He who started, he who has begun.

  756. Would you close your eyes and get that in your spirit?

  757. Be confident in this very thing that he who has begun a good

  758. work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ

  759. and His return. See, the day 41 of your life is

  760. coming. It may be the day he calls you

  761. home. It could be the day I don't know

  762. when it is, but they say it with me.

  763. Day 41 is coming, the day that it all stops.

  764. Whatever you're going through today, if you're looking for day

  765. 41, I want you to stand around up here as we play this song

  766. because I have found that sometimes my hope is not

  767. stronger than what I'm going through.

  768. Sometimes what I see is not stronger.

  769. The faith that I have is not stronger.

  770. But guess what is his love. Thanks for listening to the
