Welcome to the Cross Power Church podcast.
-
You're listening to a service from our church in Campbell, TX.
-
We pray this message strengthens your faith and points you to the
-
cross. Now let's join the service.
-
Resurrection Sunday. This is our 17th here at Cross
-
Power. Hey man, 17 you can retire to
-
retire with 20, right? I'm three years I heard
-
preachers don't get to retire. There's something inside of us
-
that just has to flow out right. But I want to share with you
-
some of the Lord's laid on my heart today.
-
And you know, God has always had a plan, but the first plan God
-
had he created mankind and then he destroyed the plan that he
-
had made because it was evil. It was wicked and it couldn't
-
keep up with the rules and regulations in the law.
-
But thank God that's what we celebrate today.
-
We're in a new covenant, a better covenant.
-
But I come by to tell you today, I titled this, I come by to tell
-
you that God has a plan. Look at your neighbor and say
-
God has a plan. Look at your other neighbor.
-
I don't think that one hurt it. God has a plan.
-
Resurrection Sunday There's so many events that happened this
-
week and I've preached on them numerous, numerous times
-
throughout my ministry. Resurrection Sunday Sunday, the
-
betrayal of Christ, all that happened this week, the the
-
cross, the resurrection. You know, we many times this
-
year they we turn to movies, we turn to things to watch to try
-
to bring out the reality of what really happened.
-
And I don't think we'll ever know because we weren't there
-
the way that Christ was wounded for our transgressions and
-
bruise for our iniquities. I don't think we can there.
-
I don't think Hollywood can even bring out the realness of what
-
happened on that day. I don't think AI can even get
-
there of what really happened on that day, and I want to.
-
I wanted to preach on that today, but the Lord led me in a
-
different direction. The Holy Spirit took me to this.
-
I want to preach to you today on the events of the not on the
-
events of the resurrection and on Resurrection Sunday, but what
-
was accomplished. Sometimes I think we know the
-
events as children of God. We know what happened.
-
We know about the cross. We know about the resurrection,
-
how he walked out of a borrowed tomb.
-
But do we really know the impact of what it did for all mankind?
-
Can I say that for all mankind, every race, every, every color,
-
every nationality, every false religion for everyone, those
-
that are trying to kill Christians today across America,
-
it's for them too. Hey man, if they'll just reach
-
out and grab it and possess that which Christ provided at the
-
cross of Calvary, I want to preach about it.
-
See in in John chapter 19 and verse 30 when Jesus said it is
John 19 chapter mention
-
finished, admit for all eternity.
-
Thank God. I may change, my habits may
-
change over the years, but God never changes.
-
He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.
-
His forgiveness reaches to the highest mountain and yes it goes
-
to the lowest valley. There's no place that you're at
-
today that he can't reach down and redeem you.
-
Amen. Can I get a witness?
-
This morning when he said it is finished, He went to hell.
-
He took the keys. I preached that a few weeks ago.
-
To death, hell and the grave once and once and for all.
-
But we can look throughout the Bible, we can look at front to
-
back and we see that God had a plan.
-
He still got a plan today, though, when we look around at
-
our country and, and the way that people act and, and the way
-
there's no reverence to God, the way that they try to take Jesus
-
Christ out of everything and put something else in.
-
But I cannot tell you it's about Jesus this morning.
-
You can look throughout the Bible and you can see that God
-
was trying to accomplish something.
-
What was He trying to accomplish?
-
Have you ever really thought about it?
-
He was trying to redeem us, His people, as far back as Isaiah
Isaiah 53 chapter mention
-
chapter 53. I'm going to read a little bit
-
of Isaiah chapter 53, one of the greatest passages in the Bible
Isaiah 53 chapter mention
-
in the Old Testament, years before Jesus Christ would hit
-
planet earth. The old prophet Isaiah, he said,
-
Who has believed our report, and to whom in Isaiah 53, and one to
-
whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
-
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant and as a root
-
from dry ground. He has no form of comeliness.
-
And when we see Him there is no beauty that we should desire
-
him. He is despised.
-
Talking about Jesus prophesying Jesus right here, a man of
-
sorrows and acquainted with grief and we and we hid as it
-
were our faces from him. He was despised and we did not
-
esteem him. Verse 4 get this this morning.
-
Surely he has bore our griefs. Isn't it good to know that he's
-
bearing your griefs this morning?
-
Whatever you're going through, he can bear it.
-
He says cast all your cares upon me because I care for you.
-
He carried our sorrows, and yet we esteemed him stricken and
-
spitting by God afflicted. Verse 5 says he was wounded for
-
our transgressions. He was bruised for our
-
iniquities. The chastisement of our peace
-
was upon him, and by His stripes we are healed.
-
Father, we thank you for your word today.
-
Father, I pray that you would help me to relate the plan of
-
God the way that you showed it to me this week.
-
God that you have a plan, we thank you for the plan of God
-
through Jesus Christ and through the cross of Calvary and through
-
the empty tomb. And I ask for the anointing of
-
your Holy Spirit to preach this word once again in Jesus name we
-
pray, Amen. So he was bruised for our
-
iniquities. We read on down to verse 10 and
-
it says yet it please the Lord, think about that, your only
-
begotten son, your only child, but yet it please the Lord to
-
bruise him. He has put him to grief when you
-
make his soul an offering for sin.
-
See that's what really happened on the cross.
-
That's what really happened. Is is is Christ.
-
He made his own soul sin for us. It says he shall see his seed.
-
That's what he's seeing today, 2026 years later.
-
He's seeing his seed in the church today.
-
The seed, you're a seed. He shall prolong his days and
-
the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
-
Once again I say God had a plan. You're his seed this morning.
-
Because we've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
-
It makes us the seed of Christ. And I want to share with you
-
today four things that we see plainly in Scripture that I
-
think a lot of Christians, a lot of God's children overlooked
-
throughout Scripture of what the resurrection really accomplished
-
when Jesus walked out of that tomb.
-
People. Well, it, it give us a home in
-
heaven. Oh no, it provided that, but it
-
did not give it to you because he is a God that will not go
-
against your free will. Hey, man, that's how much he
-
loves us. He gives you a choice.
-
But yet through our crazy choices, anybody ever made them
-
through our crazy choices, sometimes we fail, but the plan
-
of God is still there. Many are looking today for the
-
will of God. I believe if you find the plan
-
of God and you understand the plan of God, you will be in the
-
will of God, right? I recall in days before iPhones,
-
as I say many times, we would head out across the United
-
States and Canada in a little bitty truck that wouldn't run
-
very fast. And I think of my buddy back
-
there, he knows what I'm talking about.
-
He had to take a leak one day and we were headed up a mountain
-
and as Texas boys had never been in the mountains and I'm in a
-
little Ford Ranger with several 100,000 miles on it, you had to,
-
you had to fill up with oil and check your gas, if you know what
-
I mean. It had an oil leak, a major 1
-
and I, he said I got to go to the bathroom and I'm hitting
-
second. I'm about to have to hit first
-
to get up this mountain because we had never been out of the
-
flatlands of Texas. We didn't know if a truck could
-
make it or not, but we was headed up this big old mountain.
-
I said get out, do your business.
-
I'm pretty sure you can catch me.
-
And so as I headed on up the mountain, here he comes, he
-
catches me. That's how that's that's what we
-
started out. And thank God for trucks that
-
run today. Hey, man, thank God.
-
But see, you had to have a plan because you couldn't click the
-
cell phone. Oh, I changed my mind.
-
I'm going to go here. And people that were ignorant
-
didn't know how to read them out.
-
Hey, man. And a lot of people were that
-
way. We had these little deals that
-
stuck to the windshield with a pad and you'd had to ride.
-
When you get to Hwy. 79, turn right.
-
You couldn't say South because most people didn't know N from
-
South. So you kind of had to have a
-
plan. You know what I'm talking about.
-
The cell phones today have taken all planning out.
-
You know, you, you decide you want chicken.
-
What's the nearest chicken near me?
-
Boom, I don't want chicken. I think I want fish.
-
You get in an argument with your wife or somebody and you, so you
-
clear. I want steak.
-
Where's the nearest steak? Near me.
-
We've got it pretty easy. We don't even plan anymore.
-
You can plan a trip that fast, but I want to look at the plan
-
of God. The detailed message method
-
formulated in advance, that's what.
-
That's what a plan is. I wasn't real good at that when
-
I was younger and detailing a method and formulating a plan in
-
advance. But thank God he did and it's
-
probably the greatest known scripture that's read today
-
across many churches. In John chapter 3 and verse 16,
John 3 chapter mention
-
it says for God so loved the world that he gave his only
-
begotten Son. Can I tell you that was God's
-
plan for all time? It has not changed though the
-
world's trying to change it, though the media's trying to
-
change it, though politics have tried to change it.
-
God still love the world and He gave His only begotten Son that
-
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting
-
life. Isn't that good to know this
-
morning? For God did not send His Son
-
into the world to condemn the world.
-
Wait a minute, that's kind of backwards because when I when I
-
commit sin, when I get away from God, I I kind of feel condemned
-
sometime, don't you? But it says that ain't why God
-
sent him to condemn him, not to condemn us the world, but that I
-
want to I want to share this with you this morning.
-
Get this but that through Him we might be saved.
-
But see the condemnation sets in of what the church and the and
-
the religiosity has told you you have to become and you have to
-
do so you get a little condemned.
-
Amen. But you can go to Romans 8 and 1
-
and it says there is therefore no condemnation for those who
-
are in Christ Jesus. See you have to be in Christ and
-
you have to go through Christ. I like that it said through Him
-
the world might be saved. See, when we go through or we
-
become in Christ, as Paul said, then the condemnation begins to
-
live. We understand the plan of God,
-
right? But many don't understand the
-
plan of God. The plan of God for many is
-
always just don't want me to do anything funny, wants to take
-
all the things that the world says I can't and can't do.
-
And that's not the plan of God. The plan of God is to get you to
-
go through him and to go through him.
-
You got to go through the cross. Here we see the plan of God.
-
The plan goes through the cross, say man, and we try to take the
-
cross out of everything that that the way that we see today.
-
But see when we go through him and realize that he died on the
-
cross, You can't just walk around and look at the cross.
-
Say man. A lot of people are looking at
-
the cross in their life. I challenge you today to take a
-
trip around the cross, say man, see the master that's on there.
-
See the side that the spear went in that was pierced for you?
-
Take a trip to the back of the cross and begin to look up and
-
see the stripes that were on His back that it says by His stripes
-
you can be healed. See, we have to go through the
-
cross of Calvary to get to Jesus Christ.
-
It's through Jesus that you find the plan of God.
-
Why is the plan of God important in Hebrews chapter 10?
Hebrews 10 chapter mention
-
Go home and read verses one through 10.
-
I'm not going to share them all, but in verse 4 it says for it is
-
not possible that the blood of bulls under the old covenant and
-
goats could take away the sins because it had to be a lamb
-
without blemish. And that Lamb's name is Jesus
-
Christ today, sent to redeem a lost and dying world and
-
ultimately defeat Satan. Satan is defeated.
-
He may not feel like it in your life, but when you understand
-
the plan of God and the plan that God has for children, He
-
can become defeated in your life because God's got a plan.
-
When you look at the plan that God had for mankind, you have to
-
go back as early as Genesis and realize that God's plan for
-
mankind was what number one? It was perfect.
-
It was in a perfect garden, in a perfect climate and a perfect
-
and perfect moisture that would ooze up out of the ground and
-
water things. There was no sin, there was no
-
condemnation. Man's needs were forever met,
-
but we couldn't obey the one thing that God give us.
-
But he still had a plan, a perfect plan.
-
So God destroyed that which He had created.
-
But in Hebrews chapter 8 and verse six, I preached along
Hebrews 8 chapter mention
-
these lines Wednesday night as we took communion.
-
It's a great passage of Scripture.
-
I got to share it again in Hebrews chapter 8 it talks about
Hebrews 8 chapter mention
-
now in verse 6 it says he is also a mediator.
-
What is a mediator? A go between when two parties
-
can't seem to get along. See, sin puts us in empathy with
-
God. Because God is holy and God
-
can't look upon sin. He turned his back on sin.
-
That's why Jesus felt forsaken on the cross that day.
-
Because for a split moment in time, God had to turn his back
-
and let his Son become sin for us.
-
Because what? Because Jesus was becoming a
-
mediator and Hebrews says in verse 8 and six it says he he is
-
also a mediator of a better covenant which was established
-
on better promises. Isn't that good to know?
-
I thought about that when I read it.
-
How much better could it be when mana fell from heaven?
-
How much better could it be when the fire LED them by night?
-
How much better could it be when Aaron had or Moses had a staff
-
that they could part the Red Sea with?
-
How much better could it be? So see, we're we're we're the
-
we're established on a better covenant with better promises,
-
verse 7 says. For if that first covenant had
-
been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a
-
second. Because finding fault with them,
-
he says, behold, the days are coming, says the Lord.
-
Can I tell you them days are coming?
-
They're right now when I will make a new covenant with the
-
House of Israel and the House of Judah, not according to the
-
covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took
-
them by the hand and LED them out of Egypt.
-
But it's even a better covenant because they did not continue in
-
my covenant and I disregarded them, says the Lord.
-
For this is the covenant that I will make with the House of
-
Israel after those days, says the Lord.
-
This is where we're living now under grace.
-
He said, I'm going to put my laws in your mouth and I'm going
-
to ride them on your hearts, and I will be their God and they
-
shall be my people. What a better covenant.
-
None of them shall teach his neighbor, none, his brother
-
saying, know the Lord. For all shall know me from the
-
least of them to the greatest, for I will be merciful.
-
Boy, somebody ought to shout right now, for I will be
-
merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins
-
and their lawless deeds. I will remember no more.
-
Isn't that great to know? You need to remind the enemy
-
that it don't matter what I did in the past.
-
I got a God that's forgiven me. I got a God that's wrote my name
-
down in the Lamb's book of life, and he set my feet on a path of
-
righteousness. And one day I'm going to see in
-
that He says a new covenant. He has made the first one
-
obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete is
-
growing old and is ready to vanish away because why?
-
We're about to see Jesus. Are you getting the plan of God
-
this morning? See, the plan of God is to put
-
His laws in your mouth, not just in your mind.
-
Amen. All you got to do is let your
-
ears hear your mouth say the word of God and your faith
-
begins to grow. Why?
-
Because God had a plan. I like God's plan.
-
Jeremiah 29 and 11 says I know the plans that I have for you.
-
It's not to harm you, but it's to prosper you and to give you
-
what a hope and a future. Isn't it cool to know that God
-
has a plan this morning and nothing I can do can change that
-
plan? Isn't that cool?
-
I can't change that plan. He has a plan to land me in
-
heaven. So we have the plan of God.
-
The second thing I want to share with you is the purpose of God.
-
We all think we know the purpose of God.
-
The purpose, the definition, is a reason for which something
-
exists, the reason for something that is done or made.
-
There's a lot of people today that don't even know why they
-
exist. They don't even know who they
-
are, what gender they are. So how can they know their
-
purpose? How can a Christian who's never
-
done anything but say, I'm going to preach a little bit now know
-
the purpose of God? What is God's purpose in your
-
life? If you understand the plan, now
-
you have the plan, you might can understand the purpose.
-
Let's see, from Bethlehem to Calvary to the shores of
-
Galilee, Jesus had a plan. What's your plan?
-
He had a purpose to put us back in our place of dominion in
-
Genesis chapter 1 and 26. I want to read this because it
Genesis 1 chapter mention
-
says that God said let us you don't believe the Trinity right
-
there it is. Let us God was talking to
-
someone else, where was God? God is in heaven at this time,
-
right in the 3rd heaven and he says let us say that with me.
-
Let us God the Father, God the Son, Jesus had already been
-
there. Amen.
-
He was in glory with his Father. Let us, the Son, the Holy
-
Spirit, let us make man in our image according to our likeness.
-
Let them have, I want you to get this word dominion.
-
Dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air,
-
over the cattle, over all the earth.
-
Men. If, if that scripture was wrote
-
today, what would God have to give us?
-
Dominion over? If, if God could come by and
-
he'd say, I'm going to give you dominion today.
-
I'm going to give you to make it where you can control it,
-
Dominion domain, domain in that place.
-
I'm going to make it to where it can't destroy you.
-
What would you say? What would you say?
-
I know what I would say. I don't have to think twice.
-
A cell phone, That would be my answer.
-
God take it. I've lived without it and I can
-
live again. Now, everybody else may not live
-
without me with it. Hey, man, your employer may not
-
live without you with it, but I could live without it.
-
Is anybody with me? I think I could.
-
Hey, man, I won't. I would love to have dominion
-
over it. Some days I just take dominion
-
over it, Turn it off and everybody.
-
Oh, you OK? Yeah, I'm fine, don't you?
-
I mean, it's 'cause I'm OK. I ain't died.
-
What would we have to put on that today though?
-
The list would be, I mean, it would be what y'all call it
-
terabytes. Rachel took terabytes of
-
pictures on her vacation. I don't even know what a TB is.
-
I know it's bigger than a mega. I don't get all that stuff,
-
y'all. Well, how big that would be a TB
-
if we God could come and say we'll give you dominion over
-
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
-
All the things that go through our mind every day that we don't
-
have dominion over. There was a few things that were
-
simple here. The fish of the sea, the birds
-
of the air, the cattle over all the earth.
-
But this part got me when I read this.
-
And over every creeping thing, that's where we're at today
-
because Satan is on his belly and he's creeping into your life
-
and he's taking dominion over things that God meant for you to
-
have control over. Can I get a witness?
-
And he's creeping in. Well, I come by to tell you, God
-
has a plan for the creeping. Amen.
-
And God has a purpose for the things that he tries to creep in
-
on. Anybody getting creeped in on
-
Satan will creep in on you. He loves to creep in, but when
-
you recognize the plan of God and the purpose of God in your
-
life, there's a third thing that comes.
-
You will know what Resurrection Sunday is about.
-
It's about the plan of God and the purpose of God.
-
But can I tell you the 3rd and the greatest thing that happened
-
when Jesus walked out of that tomb in Acts chapter 8 and verse
Acts 8 chapter mention
-
one? What did he say in Acts 8 and
-
verse 1? He said he's going to, He's
-
going to give us something else called the power.
-
In Acts chapter 1 and verse 8, it says that you shall receive
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
the power of the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, when it has come
-
upon you, and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea
-
and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.
-
Jesus spoke this. He said there's something other
-
than salvation that will come up on you and will come into your
-
life. And it's the third thing in
-
these PS that I'm preaching today, the plan, the purpose,
-
and the power of God. We have too many of God's
-
children, children today that are powerless.
-
We're powerless and most of us because we don't speak the word
-
of God. Faith comes by one way, what
-
what does faith come by hearing the word of God?
-
That doesn't mean from the preacher that helps, but it
-
believes your beings, your mouth, and #1 you got to know
-
what you're speaking. You got to hide the word of God
-
in your heart lest you sin against him so your ears can
-
hear your mouth proclaim the word of God.
-
That's where faith comes. You can't hum it up.
-
You can't hum as I do many times and hum up faith.
-
Amen. You got to hear the word of God.
-
And as you hear the word of God, it begins to build your faith.
-
And when you understand the plan of God and you have the purpose
-
of God, then you can have the power of God.
-
In John chapter 10 and 17, Jesus spoke of this power.
John 10 chapter mention
-
He said, therefore my Father loves me because I lay down my
-
life that I might take it up again.
-
That's what today's about. You know, you hear a preacher
-
say, well, the Roman government was really big.
-
No, no, no, it didn't matter how big they was because God had a
-
plan and God, you know, by the way, Jesus could have called
-
10,000 legions of angels at any time and been delivered.
-
But He so loved us. I like what this says.
-
He says I lay down my life. Why did Jesus lay down?
-
So he could take it up again. Why?
-
So people would believe, right? Verse 18, He says get this in
-
you, get this in your spirit. No man, no one takes it from me.
-
See the plan of God and the purpose of God and the power of
-
God. You got to get this this
-
morning. This will change your life.
-
No man can take it from you, but you can willingly give it by not
-
giving God His time, by not spending time with the Holy
-
Spirit and slowly drifting away. No man, no one takes it from me,
-
but I lay it down myself. Look what Jesus said.
-
He said, I have power to lay it down and I have power to take it
-
up again. See this commandment He says
-
that He received from His Father.
-
As we sing those song, there's power, power, wonder, working
-
power in the blood of the Lamb. Go to John chapter 14.
John 14 chapter mention
-
Jesus spoke of this power again in verse 12 and 13.
-
And Jesus said most assuredly in John 1412 and 13.
-
I say to you, do you believe in Him this morning?
-
Well, that's weak. Do you believe in him?
-
This morning he said he who believes in me, the works that I
-
do, he will do also. And I preach this a lot around
-
here because I I've told the Lord, I said, man, this
-
Christian walk would have been a lot easier if you hadn't wrote
-
that, if you hadn't spoke that he who believes in me, do you
-
believe in him? The works that I do, he will do
-
also and greater works than he will do because I walked out of
-
that tomb, because I go to the father, right?
-
Greater works. I was talking to him one day.
-
I said, Lord, why did you put that in there, man?
-
That made it where I can't never rest.
-
That made it where I can't never take a breath because I want, I
-
want some of them works in my life.
-
I see a lot of Christian they don't want any of them.
-
Hey man, let's go to that next verse in 13.
-
It says this really rock your world right here.
-
Whatever you ask in my name, that I will do.
-
Go out and pray for a new truck. I'm not going to tell you it's
-
going to happen. Because if you're doing that,
-
you hadn't understand the plan of God.
-
You hadn't understood the purpose of God.
-
So therefore He's not going to give his power to someone that's
-
ignorant of His word. Can I get a witness?
-
But when you're not ignorant of the word and you understand the
-
plan of God, the purpose of God, He will pour His power up on
-
you, right? We need the power of God.
-
Jesus operated in this power and because he walked out of the
-
grave and because he lives, I can face tomorrow and I can have
-
power because there's one to working power in the blood.
-
Because I go to the Father and whatever you ask in my name that
-
I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
-
Ask anything. Ask anything in my name and if
-
you try to tell me any different, guess what?
-
I'm not going to believe it. I had a broke neck risking
-
paralyzation and I said in an old recliner and I prayed to
-
God. I said, if this is your will,
-
I'm accepting it, but I really don't believe it's in your will.
-
I was supposed to preach that week in Vegas and had things
-
lined up and God supernaturally healed my broken neck.
-
Hey man, I didn't even have to have.
-
So if you come by to tell me, well, sometimes you know, when I
-
when my mind goes blank, I know that scripture like the back of
-
my hand, but all this stuff gets rolling through my mind.
-
And sometimes I use Google and I said, where does it say where
-
does it say what verse I just read to you?
-
I quote, you can quote a little man.
-
That's the greatest tool of studying the Bible.
-
You, you don't I don't know. I still and I still have people
-
say, well, I don't know where that's at in the Bible.
-
Push Google, he'll show you. I just can't find it past push
-
Google. Just mention one word in the
-
verse for God sold up. Boom, there it is.
-
But here's what you got to watch.
-
Here's what you got to watch because the nominations creep
-
into Google and they share that Scripture and then they want to
-
put their little take on it. Well, when I Google this, let's
-
go back to verse 30. Let's go back to that.
-
Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in me, the work
-
said I do OK. We had some educated commentary
-
on that. You know what it said?
-
Be careful when you hear a preacher say first of all, but
-
that's what the commentary said. First of all, you got to
-
understand that when he was talking about these works in
-
this power, he was talking to the 1st century church.
-
Well, I'm sure he was. We weren't there.
-
I love to take the Holy Ghost and just tear up education
-
because there's some things that it's great to know where the
-
Scriptures are, but it's better when you walk through life and
-
you've used them. Hey, man, so don't try to come
-
and tell me that the power is not available.
-
Obviously, he was talking to the 1st century church.
-
Why don't they let people like me on TV because the Holy Ghost
-
will shoot them down so quick. He just put this in my mind
-
right then God said I would love to ask him this.
-
OK, When he quoted John 316, I'd like to ask the man, are you
-
saved? He wasn't talking to you when he
-
quoted John 316, you wasn't there.
-
But yet you believe in being saved because it's just a home
-
in heaven and fire insurance for you is all it is.
-
And you know what? He's got a scripture for that
-
too, Mr. Professor. They said my people honor me
-
with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
-
They go after the sayings of man and forsake the commandments of
-
God. And then he says this.
-
By doing so you make the word of God of no effect in your life.
-
I think of Jesus when he was about this power he had, he was
-
headed to to heal, to heal Jay Iris's daughter, the ruler of a
-
great synagogue. He was going to heal the
-
preacher that couldn't hear that kid had prayed for and she was
-
on her deathbed. But Jesus was walking.
-
Come on, somebody worship with me.
-
He was walking through the crowd that morning and as he was
-
walking through the crowd, he heard something.
-
He felt something. I bet this little lady had been
-
told, oh, that's he just healing those people that's over there.
-
He's not healing these people over here.
-
But this little woman had been bleeding for for so many years.
-
After years, she had an issue of blood and she heard the master
-
was coming by. I'm sure that people in the oh,
-
you can't get to. And she just kept pressing.
-
She said, I know I'm going to die, but I got to touch the hem
-
of his garment. I wonder if she had read Malachi
-
4 and 2 where it says that there's a savior coming.
-
You know that little scripture, How many know what it says?
-
It says there's healing in his wings.
-
There's power. See the rabbi's of those days,
-
the priest, they wrote that the the robes that they wore, which
-
Jesus had on, they had these little tassels that was flinging
-
off of them. They wasn't from Dooney Burke
-
and they wasn't from whoever we're worshiping today.
-
They had they a man. They weren't the bling.
-
They meant something because old Malachi had prophesied and they
-
called them wings. They tell the tassels that hung
-
off them. Oh, somebody ought to get happy
-
right now. And Malachi said there's a
-
Savior coming, and when he gets here, there's healing in his
-
wings. See, the little lady was
-
pressing through. She said, I've heard there's
-
healing. Maybe she had read the book of
-
Isaiah. Maybe she had read Malachi four
-
and two, that there's healing. Well, I'm telling you, I've read
-
it and I'm just dumb enough to believe it, that there's healing
-
in his wings. Amen.
-
Well, wait a minute, Pastor. You always been healed.
-
No, but that don't change his plan, that don't change his
-
purpose that don't change it at any minute.
-
God can Amen that don't. I prayed with people for years.
-
It was addicted to everything and prayed and believe God so
-
many times that I forgot about it and then get a call Pastor,
-
I'm no longer on the needle. I'm no longer doing this.
-
I'm no longer Somehow God just took it from me.
-
It's not there anymore. That cannot get if God's
-
delivered you give him praise in the house.
-
If God's brought you from where you used to be to where you are
-
now, just go on and believe Him and take a praise break in the
-
house. I'm telling you, there's healing
-
in the wings. Let's just don't talk about the
-
resurrection. Let's live the resurrection.
-
Let's live it. You come by too late to give me
-
your commentary. You can say it was for them.
-
I wonder what people's going to do.
-
They said, oh, I read this Bible, but how lame is that?
-
To take the power out of it, to take the goodness of God out of
-
it and just believe what you want to.
-
We got to believe it from front to back or we might as well
-
throw it out and turn our backs and go walk for the devil and go
-
live for the devil because he says anybody that adds to or
-
takes away from this book, what be damned.
-
I came by to tell you, there's a plan, there's a purpose, and
-
yes, there's power. Who can have this?
-
Whosoever will have faith in God, this little lady believed
-
because she didn't listen to what everybody else said around
-
you. You'll come.
-
Life will take you to a place that you need the plan of God,
-
that you need the purpose of God.
-
I want you to hear me, I said. Life will take you to a place.
-
I tell people all the time, you might as well go ahead and give
-
it to God because you're going, you're going to come with scars.
-
How many? He's got scars, but thank God
-
they're a sign of healing. Hey, man, scars are a sign of
-
healing. But you can go ahead and come to
-
him for the scars. He's able to detour us around
-
things, right? Why?
-
Because God has a plan. God has a purpose, God has the
-
power, and when you receive these three things, you can step
-
into #4 and I'm going to close. You can have the provision of
-
God. Not many Christians have that.
-
I don't see. I see a lot of worried people
-
today. What is a provision?
-
Is the act of supplying or providing something prematurely
-
A preparatory measure for future needs?
-
We need provision. All through the Bible we read of
-
a God that provided he's preparing something for you and
-
I This morning Jesus told his disciples at the beginning of
-
his ministry. He said, hey guys, you may not
-
want to follow me. I wonder how many he'd have on
-
staff today. Hello.
-
It's not going to pay anything. It's not going to do this.
-
It's not going to do that. I don't have any place to lay my
-
head. He told his disciples, but in
-
Matthew chapter 17 and verse 24, I'm sure the disciples wanted to
Matthew 17 chapter mention
-
know what to do that day. Are you getting this this
-
morning? We need to understand the plan
-
of God. We need to understand the
-
purpose of God. Over 7000 church denominations
-
and clicking. There's one way, there's one
-
truth and there's one life. You know how I just think of
-
that many times. How does that confuse them?
-
I told the pastors in Campbell one time we had 8-9 churches
-
here. One time I said if we got the
-
whole town of Campbell, we all wouldn't have.
-
But 20, Won't we come together while y'all are a little
-
different over there? Different.
-
I think they said that about Jesus.
-
I don't know that it's different.
-
I think it's just kind of excited about the resurrection.
-
Hey man, I think I just can't. I just can't help but talk about
-
what Jesus did for me because see, in Matthew chapter 17,
Matthew 17 chapter mention
-
Peter come to Jesus. He said, hey, he said they're
-
wanting us to pay our temple tax over there.
-
Tax has been around a long time. Taxes will get you in the flesh,
-
right? Jesus didn't get all deterbed
-
about it. He didn't go up there and debate
-
it. Sometimes you go up there and
-
debate it, it puts a flag on you and they'll really come Jack
-
with you. I like the way Jesus did.
-
He said Peter quit worrying. He said just go over.
-
You know, this hit me last. I thought one translation says a
-
brook, a brook is little, but the original translation says go
-
over and cast your hook into the sea.
-
He really tested Peter. Let's go cast a hook into the
-
big old sea. And he said the fur talking
-
about the provision of God and he said the first fish that you
-
catch will have a coin in his mouth.
-
Google that one to one to one ways that I was preaching on
-
that. But you know what we're we're so
-
little we think about the we we we we we limit ourselves to the
-
tide. It's way bigger than the tithe.
-
It's the plan of God is trusting God with the first and foremost
-
thing of your life. Amen.
-
But if you can't trust God with the 10th holy that he's given
-
us, how can we? How can we know that he supplies
-
everything? Peter said.
-
You want me to do what? Go fishing?
-
I'm sure Peter had a question. He's just go cast it in there.
-
It's not about it's not about the tithe.
-
It's about the provision. It's about it being in the
-
fish's mouth when God's children needs it, a man and him telling
-
us where it is to go, whatever the provision is.
-
And then we have preachers pollute it, preach about give
-
and this and that. I can promise you God will take
-
care of you, though he's not promised us anything but to take
-
care of us. Jesus had no place to lay his
-
head. Jesus and Peter, what a story.
-
Why could Jesus say that? Because he knew that he was
-
Jehovah Jireh, the great provider.
-
The plan of God, the purpose of God as you stand your feet and
-
the power of God will bring you into the say it with me
-
provision of God. As Jesus would walk from death
-
into life and walk out of that tomb.
-
It was only borrowed because he didn't plan to stay.
-
Isn't that cool? The plan of God for you and I,
-
Jesus is the purpose of God. Jesus is the power of God.
-
And Jesus, as Paul said, shall supply all of my needs according
-
to his riches and glory. I ask you today while this song
-
plays, do you have a plan if you don't try gods?
-
I didn't have a plan, that's why I tried.
-
Gods, does your plan have a purpose?
-
Would you close your eyes and ask yourself, do I have a plan
-
for my spiritual life? If I don't, I'm going to try.
-
Gods, does your plan have a purpose?
-
Does your purpose have power? If you can answer yes, I can
-
tell you this morning He's your provider.
