  1. Welcome to the Cross Power Church podcast.

  2. You're listening to a service from our church in Campbell, TX.

  3. We pray this message strengthens your faith and points you to the

  4. cross. Now let's join the service.

  5. Well, the first times I heard that song, I was in Arkansas

  6. doing a three day revival and there was a bunch of people.

  7. There was a big place, big cowboy church and, and I'll

  8. never forget it long as a little songs always hold a dear place

  9. in her heart when they mean something, you know, And they

  10. were singing that song. I'll never forget.

  11. It was the last night of the revival and I had preached my

  12. heart out, man, and a lot of them hadn't moved.

  13. And I was sitting there and I heard that song and I began to

  14. shake and, and the Holy Spirit spoke to me.

  15. So you're not going to preach tonight?

  16. I said, what am I going to do to these people?

  17. That's my first thought. They ain't moving.

  18. I ain't preaching. What's going to happen?

  19. And man, that last song played. I asked him, singing again.

  20. I got up there and they didn't know altars.

  21. They had some, they had some old saddles across the front.

  22. There's probably 2 to 250 there. And I didn't preach, I just

  23. begin to speak some things and and the altar just it just

  24. filled up around that place, man.

  25. And them things, them saddles they had there, they were wet

  26. from people crying. I mean, it was God just moved.

  27. And I just, I just agreed to God that I wasn't going to preach

  28. and he moved. Sometimes it's simple to just

  29. obeying God. Amen.

  30. But sometimes it's hard to do right.

  31. But kids can be dismissed. Get to be in the House of the

  32. Lord tonight. And yeah, I got, you know,

  33. preaching the gospel for a lot of years now and y'all read the

  34. Bible for a lot of years, many of us.

  35. And and sometimes you just got to go to reading and something

  36. will hit you differently. Something will hit you that

  37. you've read 1000 times. This is kind of one of them.

  38. It hit me a few years ago, but I titled this tonight.

  39. I'm going to do try to do it do a short teaching on this

  40. something that's just it kind of goes on indefinitely really it

  41. has in my life. But I want to speak to you

  42. tonight on the on the subject, or should I say the word it?

  43. Have you ever thought about the word it?

  44. Jesus mentioned it many times in the Bible on different things.

  45. The word it, what is it in your life?

  46. I titled this understanding the IT in our life because see,

  47. first week, I'm going to come back to that.

  48. But I want you to say that with me understanding the IT in my

  49. life, a lot of people's got the IT confused.

  50. It's hard to understand, but I'm going to come back to that in a

  51. minute. But I know I'm speaking tonight

  52. to a lot of people. This is nothing that's new

  53. giving to the cause of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  54. I look around, there's givers everywhere in here and I

  55. appreciate that. And I know the Kingdom

  56. appreciates that. This church appreciates that.

  57. But you know, the enemy doesn't appreciate it and the enemy

  58. tries at some time in your life, he will always try to get you to

  59. quit giving that that which God wants over and over again,

  60. because he gets our eyes off of what it is and he places them on

  61. what we're really seeing in the flesh.

  62. And when we can look at the flesh and think that it's

  63. overriding what we're giving to God, the many times he can win

  64. and he can overcome the and he said, what do you base it on?

  65. Because I know lots of people that say I used to you don't

  66. know anybody that used to tithe, used to go to church, used to

  67. see the blessings of God. The but the, the, the church is

  68. full of people that used to many still go to church, but they're

  69. stuck on what used to happen in the church.

  70. But if you understand the end in your life, it will become easier

  71. to keep seeing the things of God in your life, keep pressing on

  72. when you maybe don't see what you should.

  73. But I know God appreciates the giving, the continuing of not

  74. just time, but talents and time around here at this church.

  75. We couldn't do it without people.

  76. But I want to look at this on a different light tonight in

  77. Philippians chapter 4 and verse 17, probably one of the most

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  78. powerful chapters in the Bible in my opinion, to live in a

  79. victorious life. It's very powerful.

  80. And I've read this a lot of times and I'm going to, I'm

  81. going to do a little reading. I'm going to try.

  82. So I may not finish all this tonight.

  83. But in verse 31, the apostle Paul is telling the Philippian

  84. people, he said, I urge you also true companions.

  85. He was saying to help some of these women that have labored

  86. with him in the gospel with Clement and also the rest of my

  87. fellow workers whose names are in the book of life.

  88. Verse 4 to Philippians chapter 4, he says rejoice in the Lord.

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  89. Say that with me. Rejoice in the Lord always.

  90. And again I say, rejoice, Let your gentleness be known to all

  91. men. The Lord is at hand.

  92. This is a great blueprint for living life.

  93. This chap, this whole chapter of Philippians but in verse 6 he

  94. says be anxious for nothing. But if we could master that be.

  95. I think the older I get sometimes the more anxious I am.

  96. You know about things or having to do something they I think

  97. about it more but be anxious for nothing but in everything by

  98. prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving.

  99. Let your request be known to God and I love this right here.

  100. How do we receive the peace of God.

  101. This prerequisite of not being anxious but by praying and

  102. supplicating our life and being thankful.

  103. Let your request be known to God and then the peace of God which

  104. surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds

  105. through Christ Jesus. I quote that Sunday after Sunday

  106. here because there's anything we need in the body of Christ in

  107. the world today is a peace that understand that that that that

  108. out passes the understanding of the circumstance.

  109. Well, what would our life be like if we could just look

  110. beyond the circumstance and receive the peace If we prayer

  111. and supplicate. We can't and then finally he

  112. gives us this. He says finally, brother, and

  113. whatever things are true, whatever things are noble,

  114. whatever things are just, whatever things are pure,

  115. whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good

  116. report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything

  117. praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

  118. We do right the opposite. We meditate on the bath Could

  119. have been, oh, Jesse used that the other day when her kid broke

  120. his leg. She said the doctor was coming

  121. up and said, man, this could have been so much worse.

  122. She said, but it wasn't. I love it.

  123. If anything's praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

  124. You know, we can receive a blessing or a healing and we

  125. say, well, God heal this, but this over here is still well.

  126. Praise God for what he did. He ain't hurting in two places.

  127. Meditate on these things he says in verse 9.

  128. I like this right here. The things which you learned and

  129. received and heard and saw where not in Christ, but in a follower

  130. of Christ the apostle Paul. So see it is possible.

  131. He said I'm not telling you do something I can't do.

  132. You seen it in me. Now go do it.

  133. I like that. But then you always got that one

  134. will say, well he ain't God, but he's got a good attitude right.

  135. So following the God of peace will be with you.

  136. Verse 10 but I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now at last I

  137. want you to focus in on this, but I'm going to talk about the

  138. IT. What is the IT?

  139. I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for

  140. me has flourished again. They were helping the apostle

  141. Paul again. We know the apostle Paul didn't

  142. you know he didn't he need no help.

  143. He said he made it with his hands, but he's as though you

  144. surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.

  145. Now that I speak in regard to need, he says I really don't

  146. have need because I what would it be like not to have need in

  147. life? We're needy people.

  148. We're needy culture. If we don't have our needs met,

  149. and it ain't usually our needs, really our needs are pretty much

  150. in America, most people's needs are met, right?

  151. I mean, there's some that ain't, But the majority of the

  152. population, they have food, they have clothing, or they can go

  153. get it and shelter. I know there's homeless people,

  154. but a lot of that is due to search choices and

  155. circumstances. If you strive for it in America,

  156. I think you can have it, right? But he says, I have learned

  157. what? What if we could be like this?

  158. It's not something that we are. So we have to learn it.

  159. So I want to talk to you not about learning these things,

  160. right? I've learned in whatever state

  161. I'm in to be content. We're not that way.

  162. We're hungry. We're in a different state of

  163. mine or in a different state of attitude.

  164. We're sleepy, we're cold, we're wet.

  165. We're this, we're that. A preacher preaches a little

  166. longer. They sing 5 instead of three.

  167. We get in a different state pretty quick.

  168. But he said, I know whatever state I'm in to be content.

  169. I know how to be a base. I know how to abound.

  170. You know, what is he saying? I know how to be happy with

  171. money in my pocket or no money in my pocket.

  172. I know how to be happy when I'm healed, when I'm waiting on my

  173. healing everywhere and all things.

  174. I have learned both to be full and to be hungry.

  175. It's hard to learn that. But to abound and to suffer

  176. need. I can do all things.

  177. Yeah, but you know, we're good at quoting that for 13.

  178. You know, people don't even have to know Christ to quote

  179. Philippians 4. And I can do all things through

  180. Christ. They forget that it's through

  181. Christ. It's not just by mentioning

  182. Christ, right? I can do all things through

  183. Christ who strengthens me. Why could he do all things?

  184. Because he had learned how to react to every situation that he

  185. had been in. We just read, He knew how to, he

  186. knew how to stay happy when he was hungry.

  187. He knew how to stay happy when he was broke.

  188. So therefore he knew that he could do all things through

  189. Christ who strengthens him because he did not let the

  190. outside circumstance affect his inner being, right?

  191. So that's why he could do what all things.

  192. Well, this is going to get deep tonight, 14 says.

  193. Nevertheless, you have done well that you've shared in my

  194. distress. Now you Philippians know also

  195. that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed for

  196. Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and

  197. receiving, but you only. He was talking to 1 church here

  198. of Philippi. They had been giving to the

  199. Apostle Paul for even if Thessalonica you send eight once

  200. and again for my necessities. So that was giving to the

  201. apostle Paul. And this is where I want to talk

  202. about the yet in your life, if you do give, what are you giving

  203. for? Hello, what are you giving for?

  204. He says, not that I seek the gift, not that I have to have

  205. your gift. I love this.

  206. This fires me up. He said, but I seek the fruit

  207. that abounds upon your account when you do give, because Paul

  208. was saying you're not giving to me, you're giving to the gospel

  209. of Jesus Christ. And here in 18 he says, indeed I

  210. have all and abound. I'm full having received from

  211. Euphrodiphus or however you say that the things sent from you

  212. and look what he does here. He goes right to the Old

  213. Testament. He said a sweet smelling aroma,

  214. an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

  215. He went back here to the Levitical sacrifices being a

  216. type and shadow of Christ. It was sacrificing.

  217. It was well pleasing to those who gave, but at verse 19 is

  218. where it really got me today. I've read it all my life.

  219. Many of you have too. And he says all these things

  220. I've just read to you is building up to verse 19 and my

  221. God shall supply all of your need according to his riches and

  222. glory in Christ Jesus. We have changed one word of that

  223. today in the prosperity gospel preaching I've shared hanging by

  224. you said my God shall supply all my needs.

  225. I looked it up in several different translations that and

  226. I and and the King James says this is new King James already,

  227. but it's possible said the same thing.

  228. He said my God, because you've given to him shall supply all of

  229. your needs. So see people use that wrong all

  230. the time. Anybody ever seen anybody use

  231. that wrong? I'd be on the road rodeo and you

  232. know, and I may mention that or somebody I'd have another guy

  233. over here. He didn't really know more.

  234. No more know who God was and how God operated and he would say,

  235. Oh my God is going to supply all of my needs according he can go

  236. out and do whatever he wanted to and pretty soon he's home and

  237. broke and not going down the road.

  238. I'm still going down the road. Why?

  239. Because there's a prerequisite to God meeting all of your

  240. needs. We can't walk around and say oh,

  241. I'm just God's going to meet all of my needs.

  242. No apostle Paul says if you do what God's called you to do, he

  243. didn't even say his at that point.

  244. He said I know mine's met because already done all that

  245. stuff right? He said no, my God's going to

  246. take care of me. But he said when you give it, he

  247. said then I can, he can step out and he can take care of you.

  248. And that's what the apostle Paul was worried about.

  249. But I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

  250. This changes the whole mindset of how Satan tries to get into

  251. us about giving. And believe me, I've heard it

  252. all. I've told the story a lot of

  253. times. When we first started this

  254. church we was renting a building at that time and a little lady

  255. could give us through another through through her brother

  256. brought me a $10,000 check for the church.

  257. Said we was doing a lot for the youth and we was helping the

  258. youth and everything and that 10,000 was probably about 9500

  259. more than we had in the church account to be honest.

  260. We might have $1000 and I had a $10,000 check.

  261. I put it in there and it wasn't about 3 or 4 weeks or maybe a

  262. month longer I don't know but but all I know is it was still

  263. in there when this happened and I got a call.

  264. We had us a bunch of services lined up and things going on

  265. over there and come be when we first started and this y'all

  266. have heard me tell this story before many of you, some of you

  267. haven't. But anyway, I got a call.

  268. He said he said my sister not too happy with you older lady

  269. getting up in years. Won't you go to her house?

  270. So I went to her house and she was sitting there and and she

  271. said she said, you know, he said you misled me.

  272. You never told me what denomination you were point

  273. blank. I said you never ask.

  274. I said, but since you have, I'm not a denominational guy.

  275. I said I preach the Bible and the whole Bible from the front

  276. to the back. And she said, well, she said I

  277. go to the Baptist Church. I went there and she said I

  278. thought you were doing stuff in the youth and I thought you was

  279. under the Baptist covering. Said no ma'am, I am not under

  280. any covering. He said the blood of Jesus.

  281. And she said, well, if I would have known that boy got whoo she

  282. got all up, if I would have known that I would have give it

  283. up there. I said, well, I'll tell you

  284. what, I got it. Let me go the truck.

  285. I wrote her a $10,000 check, praise God.

  286. And I said here's your check. I said, but I want to tell you

  287. this, I love you, I appreciate it, but my ministry is not for

  288. sale. I said it's not about the money

  289. to me. I said I left a lot of money to

  290. preach the gospel. It's not about the money and I

  291. said if you want to give it out of the goodness of your heart,

  292. we receive it. But I don't want the bitterness.

  293. I said I didn't ask to come here in the 1st place.

  294. You invited me here and you wrote me the check and I got to

  295. the door and I was walking out. She said come here.

  296. She said they ain't a preacher around would have had that

  297. $10,000. She's even had it for two, a

  298. month or two. Whatever.

  299. She said it's yours. I said no ma'am.

  300. I said I don't want it. I said the only way I'll take it

  301. is when it touches my hand. It's used for the glory of God

  302. and it's not yours anymore. It's not mine, but it's his.

  303. And I said if you want to give it without any stipulations,

  304. without any denominational strings to it, I said I will

  305. receive it. And I walked out with a $10,000

  306. exactly how the story went down. God is my witness.

  307. But see to to understand that you have to understand the IT

  308. because the IT, it's not about the money, right?

  309. See, God keeps a record of of everything.

  310. Boy, I get excited about this because, you know, Jesus taught

  311. more as much on money in the Bible as he did on any subject.

  312. And the church, some churches preach all on that and the

  313. prosperity. But when you realize what it

  314. really is, it's not about the money.

  315. You can live on God's program, right?

  316. God keeps a record of everything, even our gifts,

  317. whether giving or receiving. He either said that it's more

  318. blessed and boy do we got this backwards.

  319. It's more blessed to give than it is to receive, right?

  320. Because he's keeping record of it.

  321. Because see, what you receive is much better because as I found

  322. that what I receive, money cannot buy.

  323. Hey, man, there ain't a price tag can be put on the Holy

  324. Ghost. There ain't a price tag can be

  325. put on blessings and laying down at night that knowing whatever

  326. state I'm in, my God, somehow, some way is going to take care

  327. of me. Can I get an Amen in the house?

  328. The apostle Paul said it's a sweet smelling aroma.

  329. See, it presents an Old Testament Levitical order here

  330. that we're talking about a sacrifice and it's all typifying

  331. Jesus Christ, the supreme sacrifice.

  332. See though those who gave to Paul was enabling him to take

  333. the message of the cross to others through their gifts.

  334. See their gifts and the such things that we're presently

  335. looking at today. It it it's part of being part of

  336. the gospel of Jesus Christ. The sacrificial atoning work is

  337. what we're a part of, of Christ on the cross.

  338. Nothing could be much be higher than that.

  339. So I have so I have to read to you what it says here.

  340. One of the most commonly known verses in the Bible.

  341. My God shall apply. Set shall supply all of my needs

  342. and it does not say that it says your needs.

  343. Isn't that cool? So you so really when you quote

  344. that, you ought to be quoting it to somebody else telling them

  345. why, because you've learned already how to be a base or a

  346. bound to live in poverty or lack, to live in sickness or in

  347. hell. So you can look at it somebody

  348. say, I don't know, but my God shall supply all the ordinance.

  349. That's faith that's moving beyond myself to knowing that

  350. because but there's still there's someone to go a little

  351. deeper with this. See we in the church or as the

  352. church age, we messed this one word up tremendously and that

  353. and it's it's it's kind of gets confusing here, but I'm going to

  354. try my best. Y'all help me through this.

  355. But see Paul was assuring the Philippians and all the other

  356. believers as well that they have not write this down because this

  357. hit me when the Lord give me this today and and I see

  358. Christians doing this. They think sometimes by giving

  359. that they're impoverishing their self.

  360. You know, you ever say it says the Lord doesn't like a

  361. grudgingly giver. If you'll be grudgingly, don't

  362. give it. If you think you need it, don't

  363. give it, right? This will change it.

  364. This will help you on your perspective of of getting you to

  365. where God wants you to be because it's not about the

  366. money. It's about the trusting of God.

  367. We have to figure that out. When we mentioned Tyler, we

  368. mentioned all for people just get all weird and it's not about

  369. that at all. God's word will go forth if he

  370. finds a man with faith that'll go out and preach it, he going

  371. to take care of him, right? I've seen it time and time

  372. again. But Paul was assuring the

  373. Philippians here and all other believers as well, that they

  374. have not impoverished, that hid themselves in giving liberally

  375. to the cause of Christ. Never let the enemy think you're

  376. impoverishing yourself, that it's going to hurt you, right?

  377. Because there, there's so much more to this.

  378. Jesus said in Luke chapter 6 and 38.

    Luke 6 chapter mention

  379. Let's go there. This gets really good here and

  380. and Luke 6 and 38. I want you to I know people

  381. give, but I want people to understand why they give, right?

  382. I want to understand why they give in Luke chapter 6 and verse

    Luke 6 chapter mention

  383. 38. Very powerful Jesus talking

  384. here. Luke 6.

  385. I'm gonna give her time to get there, get a drink.

  386. Luke the 6th chapter there's a lot of things going on in verse

  387. 20. Jesus begins to give the

  388. beatitudes here and he ends up in 30 set 38.

  389. He says give, say that with me give and it will be given to you

  390. good measure pressed down, shaken together, running over.

  391. I like what it says right here. It will be put into your bosom

  392. put not that you have to go out running and begging like you say

  393. the televangelist today he said put but as we look at this word

  394. right here it and I read back on this.

  395. He talked a little bit about about finances.

  396. He says, but woe to the rich back in who you are rich in

  397. verse 24 he pronounces some woes.

  398. Money's mentioned there rich and money, but right here Jesus is

  399. not really referring to monetary.

  400. I don't believe could be, but he says give and it will be given

  401. to you. Good measure, pressed down,

  402. shaken together, running over. It'll be put into your bosom for

  403. with the same measure that you use it, it will be measured back

  404. to you. I want to look at this a little

  405. bit. Give and it will be given.

  406. It will be measured back to you. So what is this?

  407. We have connected this it especially reading this

  408. particular verse and praying this verse over the offering as

  409. a pastor do it, people do it. It could mean money, but I want

  410. to look at this it it what does it mean?

  411. Which its meaning is what anybody school teachers in here?

  412. I'm I don't like teaching school teachers because y'all know

  413. everything but it what is it? It's a non translatable

  414. grammatical particle. What is that?

  415. Can I say it again? When you look up a 2 letter word

  416. called it, it's a translatable. That means you can translate, I

  417. guess you can pass it to someone.

  418. You can explain what it is if it's placed before direct order

  419. marker. OK, because we can refer to the

  420. bicycle or you can stomp your toe as I talked about on the

  421. little shelf that's in the hall. And next time you walk by and

  422. you say I hit my foot on it, it's a marker.

  423. So let's read the definition of it.

  424. Its meaning is a non. Help me with that word.

  425. Translatable grammatical particle used as a definite

  426. direct object marker. But if you don't know what it

  427. is, how can you directly mark the object?

  428. Well, I get deep with the stuff, me and the Lord in my mind and

  429. then I'll get on another study and just taking in my shoulders

  430. go to her and say God just give me a word, let me preach.

  431. I don't want to teach tonight. Can I read that again?

  432. I like it. Sounds sophisticated.

  433. A non translatable grammatical particle used as a definite

  434. direct object marker. That ain't even all of it.

  435. How does this little word get so complicated?

  436. It's placed between a verb and its specific object.

  437. So it's between a verb, which is, I remember that's an action

  438. word, and it's I don't know how I remember that and it's

  439. specific objects. So what is it?

  440. Did I explain it Then? A theologian can't figure out

  441. what Jesus was talking about either.

  442. When he said give, what was it? That's powerful?

  443. Anything, That's what I come up with.

  444. It sounds good, but when related to money, it can People make it

  445. sound or give it and you're going to get it back.

  446. Jesus didn't say that but so many being taught by especially

  447. the church today right that's all up and about the money the

  448. church and it's especially at offering time given it will be

  449. given press down good shape measured running the over sounds

  450. really good and yes, it's true because in Malachi.

  451. Let's go to chapter 3 and verse 8 because I heard a preacher the

  452. other day saying that that that tithe is not mentioned in the

  453. New Testament Testament. I'll never forget the time in my

  454. life. I was about 18-19 years old and

  455. I, I was at a, I heard a preacher say that the, that,

  456. that the 10th is required, right?

  457. He said, you want to get into the supernatural blessings of

  458. God, get out of the 10th and get into it when you get into it.

  459. And he was preaching a little give and it be given.

  460. But hey, it, it can happen, right?

  461. But I want to look what the, what the old law, the law said

  462. about it said, will a man rob God?

  463. Yet you have robbed me. But you say, in what ways have

  464. we robbed you? And Malachi says in tithes and

  465. offerings. Let's go on down to read the

  466. rest of them verses. You're cursed with a curse.

  467. So if you get 100% and you you everybody wants to check when

  468. you get it to be 100% right. You don't want to hold anything

  469. back. You don't want them holding

  470. anything back. But it says that you're cursed

  471. with a curse for you have robbed me.

  472. Even the whole nation he was talking to, he says bring all

  473. the tithe in, there's a storehouse that there may be

  474. food in my house and try me, boy, I like that when God says

  475. try me, there's something there. He says try me, try me in this,

  476. says the Lord of hosts and see if I will not open for you the

  477. windows of heaven and pour out money.

  478. No, he didn't say money. He said blessing, blessing that

  479. there will be not a room enough for you contain it or receive

  480. it. You know, that's a promise.

  481. That's not a command to me. That's a promise, isn't it?

  482. To you. That's a promise of, of

  483. blessing. Money can come in blessings,

  484. healing can come in, but it's a blessing of many things that it

  485. is big. the IT is big and then we can go and we can read about

  486. it, right? This demo, slow down, let you

  487. get this. And under the in Leviticus

  488. chapter 2730 and 32, we're not going to cover these, just write

  489. these down. It speaks of a tenth Numbers 18

  490. and 26. It speaks of a tenth Holy

  491. Deuteronomy 14 and 22. It speaks of 1/10 of their

  492. fields annually in Genesis 28 and 22.

  493. What happened? Jacob promised to give a tenth

  494. holy, mostly mentioned in the Old Testament.

  495. And then and then Abraham set up when the order of Melchizedek,

  496. the tithe, and it was set up. We read about that, but let's go

  497. to Matthew chapter 23 and verse 23 and 4 because I heard a

    Matthew 23 chapter mention

  498. dignified preacher preaching the other day and said that tithing

  499. was not in the New Testament, but yet it is.

  500. How many anybody ever been guilty saying tithing is not in

  501. the New Testament? It says give it, but it don't

  502. mean money. But in Matthew chapter 23, once

    Matthew 23 chapter mention

  503. again, your mind's already going to money.

  504. I'm not talking about the money. I'm talking about why we give

  505. the money. I'm talking about what giving of

  506. whatever it is, time, talents, whatever it is in your life.

  507. But see the reason it's placed upon robbing God because it is

  508. money. In most of our life it is money.

  509. It determines where you go, what you do.

  510. It determines a lot of things in our life.

  511. But in Matthew chapter 23 and verse 23, it says woe to you,

    Matthew 23 chapter mention

  512. scribe. Who was he talking to?

  513. Scribes and Pharisees wasn't Baptist, Baptist and Methodist.

  514. It was scribes and Pharisees and he called them hypocrites.

  515. He said, look what Jesus said. He said, because Jesus separates

  516. this thing really good here because see, many are hung up on

  517. the tithe. Many.

  518. I've had it happen here. Boy, I could just give a little

  519. more. If you wouldn't preach a little

  520. this, if you just do a little, do you really have to get on

  521. that? And they'd be big givers, I

  522. guess. And at that time I had somebody

  523. do, I didn't know who give what, but I'm like, no, really don't

  524. matter because the gospel is the gospel.

  525. Whether you give or not, it doesn't change.

  526. Say we can understand this stuff.

  527. It'll change your life. It'll break you out of that

  528. prison of lusting for money. And know that God's going to

  529. supply what you need no matter what.

  530. And he'll take the love of money away.

  531. He said it's not the love of, it's not money that's the root

  532. of all evil. It's the love of the money, but

  533. we need the money to make it. We know that that's what our

  534. that's what our society. Jesus called him hypocrites.

  535. But look how this is so cool how he separates it right here.

  536. He says for you, cleanse the outlets.

  537. Let's back up. Where am I at?

  538. Somebody help me. 27 What do you scribes and Pharisees hypocrites

  539. for? You don't know that ain't where

  540. I'm at. Let me get back. 23 What do you

  541. scribe? They said scribes too many times

  542. and he calls them hypocrites a lot.

  543. Don't. What are you, scribes and

  544. Pharisees? Say it with me, hypocrites.

  545. Has anybody ever heard that statement?

  546. Man, I'd go to church. There's hypocrites there.

  547. I told a guy one time I said, well, can I tell you something?

  548. The hypocrites closer to you are to God that you are because he's

  549. there. Well, there's hypocrites there.

  550. How many has that kept people out of church?

  551. Raise your head if you know somebody that you've heard that

  552. in the church. I ain't going to that day the

  553. hypocrites there. The only difference is we've

  554. forgiven hypocrites. We all hypocrites.

  555. Some of them just forgiven and seek seek repentance.

  556. Woe to you scribes and Pharisees say it with me.

  557. But look what he says right after that he says for you pay

  558. tithe, but yet he called him a hypocrite right.

  559. A lot of people think the tithe keeps from being a hypocrite.

  560. No, no, no. It's the IT he says for you.

  561. Pay tithe of men and ants and coming and have say that word

  562. for me for making fun of me. Say it.

  563. Whoever made fun say it. Who made fun of me?

  564. Raise your hand. OK.

  565. How's that word pronounced? Y'all want?

  566. I got 3 ladies sitting on the background.

  567. They're going to pronounce this word for me.

  568. I ain't worried about that word. I'm trying to get the IT to you.

  569. What word did I say wrong? Where?

  570. A niece. A niece is what little kid is to

  571. you. Niece.

  572. We ain't talking about your niece.

  573. I made it sound real dignified. I said a nice, what did I say?

  574. What is it? Let's just camp out and let's

  575. miss the IT tonight and let's camp out on the niece.

  576. I always want to do that on the Sunday.

  577. Let's just miss this whole message because I messed the

  578. word up. God help them back there.

  579. Let's just mess this whole. Let's just miss the IT tonight.

  580. That's what I'm talking about right there.

  581. Hypocrite. Did you look it up?

  582. OK, I can't look it up up here. So when I'm scanning over

  583. something, I don't know what means that.

  584. I don't know how to say it. I just have to do that and say

  585. whatever comes out, OK? I'm not lacking preachers.

  586. It's buttoned up and tied up. I ain't had time all week to

  587. look up a niece and to be honest with you, when Jesus called him

  588. a hypocrite forgiving it, I really don't care.

  589. I want to see what he what the what hypocrite.

  590. But thank you for your help back there.

  591. So this is a niece they paid tithe on mint and a niece.

  592. I'll never forget that word long as I preach the gospel.

  593. So you fixed it all right, here we go to coming cumin, cumin and

  594. have neglect. They're all OK.

  595. They're all something that come out of the ground.

  596. They're ours. We agree on that.

  597. Let's move forth or y'all going to be griping because I'm late.

  598. But look what he says. You give all these things and he

  599. could have put right there and you know what they mean.

  600. He could have said and you've camped out and you've learned

  601. what they mean. You pay your tithe.

  602. You know all about these fleshly things, but look at this, he

  603. said. And have neglected the way dear

  604. matters of the law, justice, mercy and faith.

  605. And boy, I love this part right here.

  606. And the people say, well, we just keep the law, keep mercy.

  607. We don't have to give nothing. We just be good people.

  608. Then we don't have time. They try to separate the thing.

  609. You've seen this brother Tim, try to separate the two things.

  610. We try to separate and we even do it in the church with

  611. holiness. We try to separate holiness

  612. because of grace, right? We don't have to live holy

  613. because of grace. So we separate grace, we

  614. separate holiness, we separate the tithe across from the

  615. living, right? And then pretty soon we got a

  616. messed up church that don't know which way they're headed, ain't

  617. seen in a miracles of God. Are you recording this tonight?

  618. I hope so. I'm not ashamed.

  619. But look what he says right here.

  620. Jesus, man, he don't leave nothing out.

  621. He's a God of nothing broken, nothing missing.

  622. He said, OK, you've given and you've tithe you talking to this

  623. particular sect, but he said you take the tithe is making you

  624. whole and you forgot the justice and the mercy.

  625. Look what Jesus said right here. I love it.

  626. He said these you ought to have done without leaving the others

  627. undone. Boy, isn't that exciting?

  628. He said you ought to have done both of them and then you'd have

  629. something that you could brag and that you could look at.

  630. But he said, but you don't do that.

  631. You just blind guides. I've preached on this verse a

  632. lot of times, blind guides who strain out the gnat, the little

  633. bitty thing, but you swallow a big old camel.

  634. So y'all figured out what the IT is that it will be given.

  635. Let's go back to Luke 6 and 20. I'm gonna read you what I think

  636. the IT is. Luke chapter 6 and verse 20.

    Luke 6 chapter mention

  637. Give everybody time to get there.

  638. Luke chapter 6 and verse 20. That might be it in your life

    Luke 6 chapter mention

  639. right there. Luke chapter 6 and verse 20.

    Luke 6 chapter mention

  640. Y'all ready? He lifts up his eyes toward his

  641. disciples and he said I believe this is understanding it right

  642. here. Blessed are you poor?

  643. Wow. You know some of the happiest

  644. people I knew in my life were the poorest people, some that

  645. see the greatest miracles of God.

  646. I'm talking about pray to God and see a healing like that.

  647. Pray to God and see the fever break just like that.

  648. Pray to God and see flowered in the cover just like that.

  649. They were the poorest, but they had learned in whatever state.

  650. He said blessed are you poor for years is the Kingdom of God.

  651. What do you say about the rich? It's easier for camel in through

  652. the eye of the needle. Well, brother, that doesn't

  653. really mean that. There was a place over there

  654. called the Eye of the Needle. The camel could get through if,

  655. well, maybe there was. I don't.

  656. I've read that too, but I like to take it for what it says.

  657. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled.

  658. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.

  659. Blessed are you when men hate you and when they exclude you.

  660. We have Christians whining about that today.

  661. He said, Blessed are you and revile you, and cast out your

  662. name is evil for the Son of man's sake.

  663. Rejoice in that day, leap for joy, for indeed your reward is

  664. great in heaven. Why can't we get excited about

  665. that? For in like manner their fathers

  666. did the prophets, he says, But woe to you who are rich, for you

  667. received your consolation. Woe to you who are a fool for

  668. you for you. Woe to you who are a fool.

  669. For you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for

  670. you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all speak well

  671. of you. For so did their fathers to the

  672. false prophets. Stay with me.

  673. I believe this is the IT right here.

  674. But I say to you, I say to you who here love your enemies hard

  675. to do. Do good, though.

  676. Those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those

  677. who spitefully use you. Anybody ever had to do that?

  678. I've had to do that the last month for someone.

  679. It's just it's hard to him who strikes you on one cheek, all

  680. for the other. I come from a Pentecostal

  681. background on one side, the other side.

  682. When my mom married my stepdad they didn't know God and I heard

  683. my granddad and he said one I knew who God was.

  684. He did but he didn't live for God at the time.

  685. Let him the Lord before he died. But he always told me he said

  686. turn 1 cheek they hit you on the other.

  687. Fight him because of the devil. That was his philosophy of it.

  688. I kind of liked it. But from him who takes away your

  689. cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.

  690. Give to everyone who asked of you and from him who takes away

  691. your goods. Do not ask them back.

  692. You know, I went and helped the guy one time and he had this

  693. little piece. I was going to had to go get

  694. something down there. He's building fence.

  695. He got go in there and get this deal.

  696. He honestly, I think he'd bought a pack of them double packs of

  697. combo locks and locked this thing up and the locks cost more

  698. than the part I was going to get.

  699. That's the way some people are. Lock it up, got to replace it if

  700. they steal it. And just as you want men to do

  701. to you, you also do likewise to them.

  702. What is this I'm reading about tonight?

  703. Say it with me the IT. But if you love those who love

  704. you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who

  705. love them. And if you do good to those who

  706. do good to you, what credit is that to you?

  707. For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from

  708. whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you?

  709. For even sinners lend to sinners, and receive as much

  710. back. But love your enemies, do good,

  711. lend, hoping for nothing in return.

  712. And your Father will be great, and your reward will be great,

  713. and you'll be sons of the Most High that's powerful.

  714. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

  715. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

  716. And see that led us up to where he says give and yet shall be

  717. given. See, this is a blue plant.

  718. This is a blueprint. What we're reading here, a

  719. beatitude is a blueprint. The happiness often referred to

  720. the happy sayings of Christ because if we live by them, it's

  721. a blueprint. It may not be money.

  722. It could be because God does bless.

  723. But as I said, some of the most happy people are those that had

  724. given their time, tithe and talents.

  725. It will come back in good measure, pressed down, shaken

  726. together and running over. See most of the time it's not

  727. money because he goes way beyond our thoughts, right?

  728. Ain't there a scripture that says he be goes beyond our

  729. thoughts to what? To our needs?

  730. There's old song says he saw beyond thank God he sees beyond

  731. my thoughts. He saw beyond my thoughts to my

  732. knee. That's what happened to you when

  733. you got saved. You thought you needed all the

  734. world, but he went beyond your thoughts to your needs.

  735. Aren't you thankful tonight? So I challenge you, as I said,

  736. most of here tonight. I'm sure our tithers I'm sure

  737. are givers, but never let the enemy tell you how much you

  738. could have done with what you give to God.

  739. It doesn't matter. I'll never forget what I settled

  740. that with a devil. When you don't, I said it

  741. doesn't matter what I could have done.

  742. It's not mine, it's God's. It's a commandment from him.

  743. Look what God's doing. With the IT that I give him,

  744. he's multiplying it. He's people seeing me living in

  745. my life and they're coming to Christ.

  746. They're seeing you living in that your life.

  747. I'm far beyond your words can ever speak.

  748. They're watching your actions and they're coming to Christ.

  749. Somebody ought to say, man, I'm glad I figured this out a long

  750. time ago. It doesn't matter.

  751. I give it to God. God knows.

  752. So see now what happens or something supernatural happens

  753. right here because I've taken the curse off the 100% and I've

  754. given the 10 to God and now God can bless the 90.

  755. I can do way more on 90 blessed than I can 100 cursed.

  756. So however God chooses to bless me, whatever the IT is, let it

  757. happen, may not be money, it could be money.

  758. But I pray that your prayer tonight, whatever it is,

  759. whatever the IT is, I want you to say, not that I seek the

  760. gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

  761. Isn't that powerful? I'm not preaching you something

  762. I have not practiced. I have.

  763. I'm not preaching to you that I have practiced it.

  764. I've saw this work for me so many times, so many times.

  765. And you know, we want to say, well, brother, you got to give

  766. this way. I'll never forget it.

  767. And I'm not bragging on anything I've done.

  768. I don't want you to take it that but as Ronnie Christian come

  769. here that time told the story about me walking across the

  770. parking lot giving $1000 and it was because it wasn't because it

  771. was me and Ronnie, it's because the Holy Spirit struck me down

  772. and said go give the man $1000. And that's what I did.

  773. That's what I did and I'll never forget one night I was early on

  774. when I was when I grabbed the concept of it's not about the

  775. money. The Lord spoke to me and I

  776. didn't have the money on what God told me to give this mother

  777. man, but I give it anyway. And I said, God, you better get

  778. me that rodeo. You better make sure I win that

  779. day and you better make sure that check is the banker that

  780. that preacher gonna have a hot check in his pocket.

  781. I said, I'm just telling you, but I obeyed you and man that

  782. you know, and it's not about the money, it's about the obedience.

  783. But God took care of it. Amen.

  784. But that's the place we have to come back to and know that God

  785. does not operate. God doesn't want you in your

  786. financial security blanket. He wants you dependent on Him.

  787. And until we grasp that, we're going to remain bound up,

  788. indebted up. We're going to, I've been there.

  789. We're going to remain these ways until we start listening to the

  790. voice of God of what to give and what to take and what to receive

  791. and what to let go. Amen, Because it's about sowing

  792. and reaping in this life. But I can stand and I can say as

  793. you do tonight, my God shall supply all of your needs

  794. according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus.

  795. So when you have given of your time, your tithe, and your

  796. talent, and also your heart to him, you can change this word.

  797. I can say tonight, my God shall supply all of your needs.

  798. He shall supply all of my needs because I've entrusted my, I've

  799. entrusted my life with him, right?

  800. And you can change this word to all my needs.

  801. Have you ever quoted that? You ever quoted the other way

  802. and told somebody, my God shall supply all your needs.

  803. Why? Because I've already trusted him

  804. and I've already seen what He can do in my life.

  805. Say man, we had a flat one night.

  806. On the other, donut tires, when they 1st come out, do you all

  807. remember them little bitty tires?

  808. And we had bought a set of tires in Arizona recaps and I was

  809. running 80 miles an hour trying to get to Idaho.

  810. We was going Phoenix to Idaho to rodeo in Idaho.

  811. We was leaving Idaho and going back across to Sheridan, WY.

  812. You'll mop that. It's not a little bitty area.

  813. And we was in a minivan. I had a blowout and the side of

  814. the road was gravel running 8590 miles an hour trying to make it

  815. because we just put a rear end in that van that week before and

  816. trying to get to the rodeo in in Idaho.

  817. And we're running on this tire and it blows.

  818. At my first experience with recaps, that was all we had the

  819. money to buy at that time. We put that $20 recap on there

  820. and it blew out like they killed us.

  821. So we run out. We, we, we've got this spare and

  822. it's a little donut. We've already heard these

  823. stories. You don't need to drive 10 miles

  824. on these donut, 20 miles to Max. Remember when they 1st come out?

  825. Well, we jacked it up, borrowed 2 jacks from a trucker, put the

  826. doughnut on the back, put the good tire off the back on the

  827. front. Now we had no spare and was

  828. almost Idaho. We get to Idaho.

  829. Then we got to go to Sheridon Wyoming the next day and

  830. somewhere is nothing was open. We're running 8085 at night on

  831. that doughnut. We put all we put over 1000

  832. miles on that donut that week before we put a tire on it.

  833. My God shall anybody played prayed over tires with the deal

  834. sticking out. I was going down.

  835. I could tell you story after story.

  836. I was about to get on airplane one time and something happened

  837. to God said don't and it it had a bunch of problems.

  838. One of them little puddle jumpers had friends go down in

  839. them not to see again. There's so many time just

  840. listening to the voice of God. See, that's the IT in my life.

  841. When you're on an airplane that's going down, you don't

  842. think about money. When you have a blowout running

  843. 85 and you're sliding in rocks, you're going.

  844. The money's the last thing on your mind.

  845. So what's the IT in your life? Could it be eternal life?

  846. Could it be happiness, peace and joy?

  847. Take all the money. Take all the wealth and riches,

  848. but see God, if you read his word, there's no way that you

  849. can that you can trust Him with every part of it and not trust

  850. Him with the financial part of it and expect for it all to mix.

  851. Jesus said, what did he say that was a good y'all are to memorize

  852. that. I had to remember a lot tonight.

  853. Y'all could remember that one. What I said we remember a niece

  854. from now on. But what did Jesus say?

  855. He said you shouldn't have left one undone without the other.

  856. You come into the temple and you give so everybody would see you.

  857. Jesus called that hypocritical because he said you ain't got

  858. the mercy and the grace and the things down yet.

  859. So what good is the giving going to do that?

  860. You'd be surprised. People trying to buy their way

  861. to heaven. Hey, man, get your mercy and

  862. your grace and, and, and your forgiveness and your love for

  863. you now and all that stuff. When you get that in your

  864. spirit, guess what? The money ain't going to mean

  865. nothing to you because you know, it's all God's and he owns the

  866. cattle on 1000 hills and somehow, someway, my God's going

  867. to take care of me. I was going down.

  868. I was going down that big old mountain Passover there in

  869. Colorado. I don't know, there's so many of

  870. them, but we had this old guy Rodie, I got to tell.

  871. This is 8:00. We had this old guy.

  872. I told Jared I was going to preach to 9.

  873. He asked me 12 and I said 9. But we we was going down there.

  874. You know the wires over here. We turn the headlights on.

  875. This was early years. This is for God got the

  876. blessing. But I done figured it out to get

  877. from where I was to where I wanted to go.

  878. It took God. We had these two little wires

  879. that he had stuck in there and tighten them down and they stuck

  880. out and you had to twist them together to have headlights.

  881. Oh, Chevy Astro vans, that is tough.

  882. But we was driving that thing and I was coming down that Raton

  883. Pass I think it was and the headlights went out.

  884. I'm talking about out and I hadn't drove his van that much.

  885. He just told me, hey, turn the headlights on.

  886. You got to twist some 2 wires over dash was missing.

  887. I mean junkers, you know, I'm talking about Scott, you

  888. probably drove a few, but I mean rodeo and I'm not picking on if

  889. you rodeo, you drove junkers because if they wasn't a junker

  890. this year, next year with AI put 100,000 miles a year on a

  891. vehicle, go buy a brand new one and then walk up here and be

  892. upside down. Forty $30,000, you know, but you

  893. could buy a new one then for 25. What like it is now.

  894. But so my first thought is I started praying and then I

  895. thought I better start driving while I'm praying because this

  896. vehicle ain't moving. I'm running fast.

  897. So I'm trying to find these wires and get them twisted till

  898. the headlights will come on. They're this dark.

  899. I can barely see the white line to keep it off these mountain

  900. and time I got it twisted. I never got it twisted.

  901. It didn't make contact. So we pulled over.

  902. Headlights were out. But my God shall supply all my

  903. needs according to his riches and glory.

  904. What a God we serve. I'm telling this stuff works

  905. y'all, but you got to figure out what your it is.

  906. A lot of people ain't figured out what their it is.

  907. You got to go to work. You got to.

  908. I get all that. I've been down all those roads,

  909. but I still have figured this out as you stand your feet.
