  1. Lift.

  2. And when we get off course, many times we have

  3. to return to the place we went on. We have

  4. to return to the place we went off course in

  5. order to correct our journey and our destination. Sometimes to

  6. go ahead, sometimes to sometimes to get through the meantime,

  7. you got to go back to the place where you

  8. entered the meantime because you have drifted off course. Come

  9. here for a second, Jeremy, let me, let me want.

  10. I want to I want to illustrate something to you. Okay,

  11. I'm not gonna jump on your back or anything. Although no, no,

  12. not gonna jump on your back. All right, turn around

  13. and uh you see that you set an electrical outlet

  14. right there on the wall. Okay, I want you to uh.

  15. I want you to walk straight that. Now, don't knock

  16. my keyboard over.

  17. I want you to walk straight there and straight back. Okay, go.

  18. A little faster, you get cutting into my time. Pretty

  19. good job. Give him my hands.

  20. No, no, no, no, I'm not done. I'm not done. Not done.

  21. And that's the way we want our lives to work. Right.

  22. We we leave from a point in time and space

  23. and geography, and we walk a straight line towards God's plan.

  24. Towards that destiny, towards that goal we have already coming

  25. back up here. Now I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna

  26. just correct your travel. Okay, So make your head turn

  27. with your shoulders okay. And then I want you to

  28. walk in a straight line towards where I put your shoulders.

  29. Just that much.

  30. Okay, I want you to take three steps and stop.

  31. Stop all right. You can't tell it, but I can

  32. tell it that he's about six inches off path right now.

  33. He's he's about six inches out of line from where

  34. our original destination was. I want you to continue to

  35. walk in that straight line all the way to the wall.

  36. And when he gets out there, he's off course by

  37. three and a half feet. See here's what happens when

  38. we experience okay, can come straight back now. Now, I

  39. want you to get to push up position. I'm just kidding.

  40. I'm just kidding. He was gonna do it. He was

  41. gonna give him a hand. See here's what happens. So

  42. many times as we enter these uh, these meantime moments,

  43. these mundane moments, these things where we don't have to

  44. keep anything in front of us. We're just on cruise. Control,

  45. and we only get off a couple of degrees from

  46. where we're headed. We just we're just barely turned. And

  47. tomorrow we look back and we don't realize that we're

  48. off course because we haven't strayed that far off the

  49. destination line.

  50. We haven't strayed that far off.

  51. But then if we keep going and we keep taking

  52. those steps and we don't readjust our trajectory, we don't

  53. reassess and evaluate where we are, then by the time

  54. we get a month down the road, or a year,

  55. or maybe even ten years down the road, we look

  56. and we realize that we're so far off course.

  57. Now.

  58. Even though the correction or the miscorrection was small in

  59. the beginning, we now have a vast disparity between where

  60. we are and where we think we're supposed to be headed.

  61. It's missional drift.

  62. It's that drifting away just a little bit from that place,

  63. that thing that God.

  64. Has called us to.

  65. And sometimes in order to correct missional drift, we have

  66. to come back to the very point where.

  67. We started drifting.

  68. And it never feels good to go back, but sometime

  69. the best way forward is to return to the place.

  70. And I think that there's some of you here today,

  71. that you feel like if you could just get back

  72. where you were, Come on, somebody, that if you could

  73. just get back to the place you used to be,

  74. that you have now taken a step ahead, because where

  75. you used to be is better than where you are now.

  76. Let's read together, I want to start.

  77. We're gonna do those scriptures in reverse order of the

  78. way I gave them to you. We're gonna read numbers

  79. first numbers, chapter thirteen, starting in verse thirty one. But

  80. the men who had gone up with him said, we're

  81. not able to go up against the people, for their

  82. stronger than we are. And they gave the children of

  83. Israel a bad report of the land which they had

  84. spied out, saying, the land through which we have gone

  85. as spies as a land that devours its inhabitants, and

  86. all the people whom we saw in it are men

  87. of great stature. There we saw the giants, the descendants

  88. of a nac came from the giants, and we were

  89. like grasshoppers in our own site, and so we were

  90. in their sight. Thank you for your word. It's the

  91. only change agent on the face of the planet. And today.

  92. Our request to you is.

  93. That you don't leave us like we are, but that

  94. you change us, that you correct our course, that you

  95. call us back to the point of variation. Lord, that

  96. you that you start a work so profound today that

  97. we look back on this moment in time and we

  98. realize that that's where we got back on track to

  99. reach the great and powerful destiny that you've put on

  100. the inside of each and every one of us, that

  101. kingdom greatness that you have set aside for us in

  102. Jesus' name. Amen, this is this is the the narrative,

  103. the story of Israel.

  104. They have they fled Egypt.

  105. They are They've now gotten on the other side of

  106. the Red Sea. They've gone and they have gotten up

  107. to the Jordan River, and they are deciding whether to

  108. cross over the Jordan River. They're deciding deciding whether whether

  109. Moses would lead them over into the Promised Land. So

  110. Moses sent spies out into the land to check out

  111. the land. Now, first of all, I want to remind

  112. you that God never said send spies. God said go

  113. to the Promised Land. God said go When you get there,

  114. it's gonna be fabulous, it's gonna be fantastic. And as

  115. a matter of fact, right before we get this report.

  116. It was a much different report that these same people gave.

  117. They said, Hey, this is a land that's flowing with

  118. milk and honey. Listen, there are grapes the size of

  119. basketballs and bananas the size of canoes. You've never seen

  120. anything like what's over there. The provision that's over there

  121. is unlike anything we could ever imagine. It's more than

  122. what we had in Egypt. It's more than anything we've

  123. had in the journey. It's gonna be a place. And

  124. then they get their eyes on the situations and the circumstance,

  125. and they make a huge assumption.

  126. They make an assumption.

  127. That paralyzes them and keeps them from attaining everything that

  128. God had for them. When we're going to talk about

  129. that assumption in just a moment. But now jump with

  130. me to Joshua chapter two, verse eight. Joshua chapter two,

  131. verse eight. Now, before they lay down, she came up

  132. to them on the roof and said to the men,

  133. I know that the Lord has given you the land,

  134. that the terror of you has fallen on us, and

  135. that all the inhabitants of the land are faint hearted

  136. because of you. For we've heard how the Lord dried

  137. up the water of the Red Sea for you when

  138. you came out of Egypt. And what you did to

  139. the two kings of the Amorites who were on the

  140. other side of the Jordan's sea, Han and Og, whom

  141. you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things,

  142. our hearts melted. Neither did there remain any more courage

  143. in anyone because of you. For the Lord your God,

  144. he is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Now,

  145. what we may not realize when we read these two

  146. different passages is we are almost in the same spot geographically.

  147. Moses had led the children of Israel to the bank

  148. of the Jordan River. He sent, he sent spies over.

  149. They came back, and this was their report. We're like

  150. grasshoppers in their eyes, and we're also grasshoppers in our

  151. own eyes.

  152. They said, listen, we have measured ourselves again.

  153. It's the people, and we have made the assumption that

  154. they see us like grasshoppers. We have made the assumption

  155. that these people that we see they're better than us.

  156. They're stronger than us, they're more powerful than us. And

  157. there's no possible way we have a chance. There's no way,

  158. we have a chance to overwhelm them, to overthrow them,

  159. to defeat them in any way, So we can't possibly

  160. cross over. Now, First of all, they are spies in

  161. the land. Now, I don't know about you. I mean,

  162. I've never been I've never actually been a spy. First

  163. of all. Okay, contrary to popular belief, i do not

  164. moonlight in the CIA. Okay, I'm not James Bond in

  165. my off time. I'm not a spy. But there's something

  166. that I have gained, something that I have gleaned from

  167. watching the spy movies is that spies work covert. They

  168. don't walk in and announce, Hey, I'm a spy and

  169. I'm here to check you out. They sneak around in

  170. the shadows, They look from a distance, they blend in.

  171. They they observe without interaction because they want to find

  172. out the details for the invasion.

  173. So, if these were spies in.

  174. The land, number one, nobody told them that they were

  175. grasshoppers because nobody knew they were there.

  176. It was an.

  177. Assumption they made about themselves that the people of that

  178. land saw them as grasshoppers. Did you know that God

  179. always will provide to the place where he guides. God

  180. is guiding you somewhere he will give you provision. In

  181. other words, the place he's guiding you to will sustain itself.

  182. The place he's guiding you to will will be enough

  183. to support you and to allow you to thrive and

  184. to allow you to be everything God called.

  185. You to be. And the report that they brought back.

  186. When they went into the land is that there's giant

  187. grapes and big old bananas. I got news for you.

  188. Grasshoppers don't eat grapes or bananas. I actually listen. I

  189. googled it. I didn't do you know, deep Bible reason.

  190. I just googled the grasshoppers eat grapes and bananas. They

  191. do not eat grapes or bananas. Now you google it

  192. and if it comes up with something different, but they

  193. don't eat them. God would not send a grasshopper to

  194. a place that the place wouldn't support. They made an

  195. assumption that we're out classed from where we're headed, and

  196. there's nothing we're ever going to be able to do

  197. to fit in there.

  198. I think some of.

  199. You maybe have reached a point in your journey with

  200. God and you walked up to the edge of your

  201. Jordan river. The Jordan River always represents the place of

  202. no return. When you cross over the Jordan River, you're

  203. in a new place. You're in a place where there

  204. are battles to be fought, but there's also great victories

  205. to be won. And maybe you've walked up to your

  206. Jordan River and you've made an assessment of what's on

  207. the other side, in the unknown, and you've said to yourself,

  208. you know what, I think I may be a grasshopper.

  209. I think I may not really be cut out for this.

  210. I might not be able to do what God has

  211. called me to do. You know, Pastor Clay said something

  212. during that song. He said, listen, I just want you

  213. to prophesy it until you can see it. If you

  214. can't see it, I just want you to prophesy until

  215. you can see it. I just want you to say

  216. it until you can see it. I want to take

  217. you another step beyond that. Not only do you prophesy

  218. until you see it, but listen to this. Once you

  219. see it clearly, let me say it again. Once you

  220. see it clearly, you can possess it fully.

  221. Oh.

  222. Once you can see it clearly, you can then activate

  223. your faith on it, and you can possess it fully.

  224. Anything that you can see, anything.

  225. That God gives you a vision for, anything that God

  226. presents to you and you can see it clearly, God

  227. will give it to you fully. And here they knew

  228. what was in the land, but they just didn't have

  229. the fortitude to go get it. Now, let me tell

  230. you what happened. Meantime happened. And not only was it meantime,

  231. it was mean time. There was nothing easy about that meantime.

  232. As a matter of fact, from when they crossed over

  233. the Red Sea, so they arrived at the Jordan River

  234. geographically is at about an eleven day journey, eleven days

  235. they walked between the Jordan River and the Red Sea

  236. for forty years. They were in the meantime for forty

  237. years because they weren't able to take the initial step,

  238. because they made some assumptions about themselves that just simply

  239. were not true. Now, let's jump back to the second

  240. passage of scripture we read over in the Book of Joshua.

  241. This is Joshua has now led the children of Israel

  242. to the same place. They're standing on the bank of

  243. the Jordan River. They're getting ready to go over and

  244. possess the land, and God speaks to Joshua, and God says,

  245. now you can send spies into the land. It's okay

  246. for you to send them into the land, but you

  247. choose them. That was the mistake that Moses made.

  248. He didn't pick the people.

  249. That were going to try to see it clearly, he

  250. let the people pick the people. You know, sometimes we

  251. take advice from the wrong people. Sometimes we go to

  252. we go to people who we actually know. Listen, if

  253. you got somebody in your life, y'all need to write

  254. this down. You know, I told you the most spiritual

  255. thing I was ever gonna teach you last week was.

  256. Write it down. I'm gonna teach you.

  257. The the second most spiritual thing I'm ever gonna teach

  258. you today. So you've got the top two things in

  259. two weeks. The second most spiritual thing you're ever gonna

  260. hear is if you have negative people in your life

  261. and you go to them for advice, it's going to

  262. be negative. Negative people will give you negative advice. And

  263. let me tell you this, negative people often in the

  264. moment become quite popular because their negativity is louder than

  265. everybody else's positivity. And the squeaky hinge is the one

  266. that gets the oil. So now he said, listen, you

  267. pick the people, because we don't want a bunch of

  268. negative nancies going over in there and then bringing the

  269. same kind of report back.

  270. Because I've already told you to go. I've got a

  271. new view.

  272. I'm gonna put them in a place so that they

  273. can get some information that those other spies didn't have.

  274. So we sent these spies over and they end up

  275. at at this lady's house named Rahab, a prostitute, a

  276. lady of the night, a lady of ill repute, but

  277. that had all the info of the goings.

  278. On in the city.

  279. And they show up at her house and he says, listen,

  280. I don't know what is but I'm gonna hide you

  281. because they're looking for you. They're gonna kill you, So

  282. come on up to the roof and hide. So she

  283. goes up there in the evening and she says, hey,

  284. here's the deal. I don't know if you know this

  285. or not, but everybody is terrified because y'all are camping

  286. on the other side of the Jordan River.

  287. Their hearts have melted.

  288. They're all overwhelmed with fear because they know your God,

  289. they know your God is the God of heaven above

  290. and of the earth beneath. That your God is the God.

  291. And they heard, and I want you to start building

  292. a timeline in your mind.

  293. Here. They heard.

  294. That God opened the Red Sea for you. He did

  295. that exactly one time. This was not a new Red

  296. Sea splitting occurrence that she's talking about. It's the old one.

  297. And then she said, and then we also.

  298. Know how you utterly this destroyed the two kings on

  299. the other side of the Jordan River the first time

  300. you came. So let me give you some some fireside

  301. chat that happened after she went back down. It's not

  302. recorded in scripture, but I know guys, and they were

  303. sitting around.

  304. They started talking.

  305. They said, She said, they're terrified because of that whole

  306. Red Sea deal and because of those kings that we

  307. utterly destroyed forty years ago. So why did we wander

  308. around in eleven day circle for forty years If they're

  309. still scared forty years later, why didn't we just march

  310. across the river? Then the reason is because then they

  311. thought they were grasshoppers and.

  312. Now they think they're giants.

  313. Before they were objects, and now they are the focal

  314. point before they were the subject of an assumption placed

  315. on them by themselves, and they allowed that to dictate

  316. their actions. Now, forty years later, they stand in the

  317. same spot, after forty years of meantime. Let's talk about

  318. what the meantime looks like for just a second. They

  319. woke up in the morning and they went out of

  320. their tents and there was magically bread on the ground.

  321. They would go out and they would gather the bread,

  322. and they had to gather enough for a whole day

  323. because that next night it was gonna spoil. They couldn't

  324. gather enough for an extra day, and they would get

  325. up the next one. They would walk out and the

  326. bread would be this called manna. This uh, this what

  327. is it?

  328. Bread?

  329. They didn't know what it was, but it was able

  330. to sustain them, and they just that.

  331. They they ate and they they grumbled and they complained,

  332. and they they walked, and then they.

  333. Gained and then they gathered some bread, and they grumbled

  334. and they complained, and they walked, and.

  335. Then they gathered some bread, and they grumbled and they

  336. complained and they walked.

  337. Kind of sounds like I get up in the morning

  338. and I eat breakfast, and I take a shower, and

  339. I go to my job and I complain about my boss.

  340. And if you are the boss, yes, they are probably

  341. complaining about you.

  342. Just frame that how you will.

  343. Then I'm gonna go to bed at night, and the

  344. next day I'm gonna get up and I'm gonna repeat

  345. the cycle.

  346. God has more for you than that.

  347. John chapter ten, verse ten says the thief comes only

  348. to kill, to steal, and to destroy. That's all he does.

  349. He comes only to kill, to steal and to destroy.

  350. He comes to kill your hopes and dreams. He comes

  351. to steal what little you have and to destroy the

  352. hope that tomorrow can be better than today.

  353. That's what he comes to do.

  354. You want to be pretty depressed and passages of Scripture

  355. if it's stopped there.

  356. But it says the thief.

  357. He comes to kill, only to kill, to still and destroy.

  358. But I Jesus is saying this. You got one of

  359. those fancy multicolored bibles that's in red. But I have

  360. come that you may have life.

  361. Now.

  362. Walking in the wilderness is life. Picking up manna is life.

  363. But he said, but I've come that you may have life,

  364. and life more abundantly life to the full life that

  365. looks different than everybody else that don't know me.

  366. Life.

  367. That's just it's something about my life that people look at. Now,

  368. I want you to take some self evaluation and see

  369. if there needs to be a coarse correction.

  370. Does your life look like a life.

  371. That other people look at and say, hey, I want

  372. some of that?

  373. It's just a fault or is it? Woe? Is me?

  374. Beat down? Not gonna make it.

  375. It's the last one I can take, or I'll be

  376. on the floor if I get any lower.

  377. I don't think I can. I'm gonna try to. The

  378. devil's on my back and now he's wearing me out.

  379. And we go to work and surrounded by people that

  380. are looking at their lives because they know go to church.

  381. We go to that crazy church where they speak in

  382. tongues and clap and do all that stuff.

  383. You know.

  384. My prayer for you is that you live a life

  385. that is flamboyantly pentecostal. You Now, I'm chasing a rabbit,

  386. but it's okay. You should have it somewhere in you

  387. that if there's somebody sick sitting at the desk across

  388. from you, that you go over and lay hands on

  389. them and pray for them in the Holy Ghost. Or

  390. you walk up to somebody trying to decide whether they

  391. want cheerios or honey nut cheerios in the grocery store,

  392. and you walk up to them and say, thus saith

  393. the Lord.

  394. He wants you to have honey nut cheerios.

  395. Because he's taking you to a fland that flows with

  396. milk and honey, and he wants you to get a

  397. little taste of it right now as we are.

  398. Huh. Now, let me get back to my message. That

  399. was free.

  400. By the way, when you give an offer, it doesn't

  401. even that was just extra.

  402. They're here at the same place.

  403. They've returned to the same point so they can make

  404. a new decision about their next action because the destiny

  405. did not change. Even though they wandered and complained for

  406. forty years, the destiny never changed because the call and

  407. gifts of God are without repentance.

  408. It's there.

  409. You may have pressed it down, you may have stomped

  410. on it. You may have tried to forget it. You

  411. may not want it. But the gift and call of

  412. God is still there and ready for you. And now

  413. He's brought you back to the same place to make

  414. either the same decision or the right decision. But it's

  415. time for you to course correct this morning and cross

  416. the Jordan River Clay.

  417. You guys can come and get ready.

  418. Because what's on the other side grapes and bananas, smoothies,

  419. a place where listen, you will reap.

  420. Where you did not, So you know.

  421. I believe that we have stepped into the last days.

  422. I believe we have been living in end times. I

  423. believe we stepped into the last days. I believe we're

  424. getting close.

  425. Believe.

  426. I believe maybe that Angel is already practicing. I believe

  427. right now in a back room somewhere, if you slipped

  428. up to the door and put your ear against the door,

  429. you would hear he's practicing because he don't want to

  430. get it wrong. You don't want to play that trumpet blast.

  431. Out of key right.

  432. You want it sharp. And nothing has to happen. All

  433. the requirements have been met. But there's some things that

  434. are probably gonna happen, like a wealth transfer from the

  435. hands of the wicked into the hands of the righteous

  436. to fund the great Last Day revival. That I still

  437. believe it doesn't have to come, but I believe it's

  438. going to come. And he's positioning us because we're all

  439. about to go through some life change.

  440. I believe.

  441. I believe us things get harder to get and things

  442. get more expensive, that people are going to be open

  443. to the Gospel and to a move of the Lord

  444. more than they have been.

  445. In a long time.

  446. He's positioning America that we could lead that last great outpouring.

  447. It might be us that he's positioning to do that,

  448. And I just want to be part of it. I

  449. don't have to lead it. I just want to be

  450. part of it. But we've come to.

  451. This place, and I believe that.

  452. If we'll cross the Jordan River, there will be battles

  453. to be fought, but there will also be reaping where

  454. we did not. So in other words, somebody else did

  455. the work and you got the harvest.

  456. The battles are already one.

  457. You just have to fight them. Doesn't matter what the

  458. cities look like, it doesn't matter how many giants are there.

  459. God has got you. And listen to this. The enemy

  460. already knows.

  461. The enemy, your adversary already knows that you are covered

  462. by and led by the God of heaven above and

  463. the earth beneath, and all you need to do is

  464. cross the river. All you need to do. Let's take

  465. a few steps in the right direction, stripped.

  466. A gear hold. He's waiting on you.

  467. Listen. I can preach and preach and preach, and we

  468. can sing and sing and sing.

  469. And man, we can launch groups.

  470. And groups and groups and teams and teams and teams.

  471. But at some point got to figure out where you are,

  472. where you need to be. Get your feet wet. Now.

  473. I know he parted the river for them, but I'm

  474. telling you, for a grave as big as a basketball,

  475. I would have swam for a banana.

  476. The size of a canoe, I would have held rocks

  477. and walked across on the bottom. But you got to decide.

  478. Am I happy with manna.

  479. Or do I want stake? Am I happy looking into

  480. what God told me I could have? Or do I

  481. want to actually live in what God told me I

  482. could have. That decision you make this morning, everybody's staying

  483. with me all over the building.
