  1. Amen, Amen, and amen. Now, uh, let me go ahead

  2. and uh.

  3. For those of you, for some of you that have

  4. been here before when we've done this, you know what

  5. to expect. But lots of people have have come since

  6. the last time we did a town hall meeting, and uh,

  7. this is probably gonna look a lot different than what

  8. you may be used to because it's not your typical

  9. I'm gonna preach a.

  10. Message and make an alter call.

  11. Town hall is all about you asking questions and us

  12. answering those questions right here live from the stage.

  13. What are those questions?

  14. It can be life leadership, Bible theology, church ministry, really

  15. whatever question you have, we want to answer that today.

  16. And we have a bunch of questions that have already

  17. come in online. So we're gonna go ahead and uh

  18. and start with one of those. Now listen, I will

  19. tell you Pastor Clay is sitting up here on a stool,

  20. so that means he's fair game.

  21. Amen. The question doesn't have to be for me. He's

  22. he's up here.

  23. He chose to sit on the stage with me and

  24. take up my space, and so he's fair game.

  25. Uh.

  26. So if you have a question for him, like why

  27. don't you ever cut your hair.

  28. I mean, that would be a great This.

  29. Is a great time, you know, to ask that that

  30. that that question.

  31. I just I just want everybody to know this is

  32. not notes. There's no teleprompter. This is all from the hip.

  33. So it's from the spirit, brother, not from the hip.

  34. Come on, that's where I keep my sword, brother.

  35. Okay, okay, all right.

  36. So we'll start with we'll start with a question from

  37. from the the online and then if you if you

  38. have a question that you want to ask, if you'll

  39. stand up, Uh, Alan and Jeremy are both board members

  40. here and they're gonna come around. They're going to give

  41. you a microphone for you to be able to ask

  42. your questions because we want the online audience to be

  43. able to hear your question as well.

  44. So all right, pastor Clay, start wherever you want.

  45. To sure, all right, let's start with uh, let's start

  46. with the good one here came in online via the

  47. online form. It says, how do I protect God's word

  48. in my heart and not let the enemy steal it away?

  49. Wow? That's a great question. You know.

  50. One thing is when we when we read that story

  51. of the Parable of the Souler, the Seed that was

  52. sown on rocky ground, the birds of the air came

  53. and stole it away. And then when Jesus is responding

  54. to that parable, he says, hey, pray for the Holy

  55. Spirit to seal your heart lest the birds of the

  56. air come and steal it. So the covering of the

  57. Holy Spirit is the most powerful way that we that

  58. we maintain what God is doing in our hearts.

  59. But also we overcome those.

  60. Things by the blood of the Lamb and the word

  61. of our testimony.

  62. And let me remind you.

  63. I say this all the time and you're like, well, yeah,

  64. I don't really have testimony, you do.

  65. What is God doing in your life? Most of the

  66. time we.

  67. Wanted to be clean and perfect, like a beautifully polished

  68. story with a bowl on the top, but that's really

  69. not onboard.

  70. People into the mess of your story.

  71. Come on somebody right in the middle of your testimony,

  72. so they can experience God with you through that testimony,

  73. and it's not just a put together story at the end,

  74. but they can see God work and they can see

  75. that experience in your life. So a great question. Whoever

  76. asked that, jeremy.

  77. First question, are you ever going to come back with

  78. in the Gray. I miss it, and when you don't

  79. live in the Gray, I get a lot of questions.

  80. Yes, my intention is to come back within the gray.

  81. Here's the reality, you know when you when you try

  82. to do something eight o'clock in the evening. I also

  83. have a family and we've been very busy over this

  84. last season. Things do seem to be slowing down. My

  85. youngest daughter's in college now, so there's not a big

  86. time demand and commitment there. But yes, in the Gray

  87. will come back probably this fall. Okay, Yeah, if you

  88. don't know what in the Gray is? In the Gray

  89. is this only it's a live social media.

  90. I experience just like this.

  91. So it's live on Facebook, live on YouTube and twitch. Yeah,

  92. so it's whatever a twitch is. We're on there and

  93. so it's live there and you can actually go on

  94. and you can just type your questions right there in

  95. the comments and we answer them live and we usually

  96. do that on Tuesday nights at eight pm. And that's

  97. probably the place that we'll go back to.

  98. Okay, first question, first, Corinth thens three point fifteen. If

  99. anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer less through

  100. now though he himself will be saved but only as

  101. through fire.

  102. Can you explain that?

  103. Yeah, I think so, you know, I think that basically

  104. when we look at that scripture and it's talking about

  105. salvation and we are protected, the person is protected. But

  106. all of those good works, all of those things that

  107. we do, those things are say, get myself in trouble

  108. when I say things like this from the stage. Our

  109. actions are much less consequential than who we are in

  110. our hearts, and the things we do don't really change

  111. how God feels about us. See, the enemy makes us

  112. think that. The enemy makes us think I'm not doing enough,

  113. or I need to do more. I didn't read enough Bible,

  114. I didn't pray enough.

  115. I did and do those things.

  116. Now should we do those things, yes, absolutely, But there

  117. is no condemnation for those who.

  118. Are in Christ Jesus.

  119. And when we feel those things and it lifts us up,

  120. that's conviction.

  121. Okay. So when you experience those things and.

  122. It lifts us up, it motivates us, it pushes us ahead,

  123. that's the conviction of the Holy Spirit. But when those

  124. things pull us down, that's condemnation. That's heaviness from the enemy.

  125. So we say, listen, we're saved out of the fire.

  126. But those things that we do, good or bad, they're

  127. burned away and we're purified, and we begin to understand

  128. who we are in Christ. Not what the things are

  129. in Christ, but who we are in Christ. You know,

  130. every time I have a meeting with somebody and you

  131. guys think that you've done something terrible, I always start

  132. that out by saying, all right, here's the ground rules.

  133. There's nothing you can do that will ever change the

  134. way I feel about you, because I believe that's how

  135. Jesus looks at it too, that he loves us unconditionally.

  136. Now he doesn't. He wonders why we lose our mind

  137. to do the things we do sometimes right, but it

  138. doesn't affect how much he loves us. Amen, we're gonna

  139. go here and then we're gonna come back. So we're

  140. gonna go bi bit.

  141. Bit Okay, here we go. When we are praying for

  142. help and guidance on what to do to help God

  143. with our needs, how do we know what path he

  144. wants us to take? I keep trying different ways, and

  145. I'm just not sure if I'm doing what he wants

  146. me to do.

  147. Yeah, I live my life this way. I always want

  148. to hear an audible voice, right. I always want to

  149. hear God speak from heaven and tell me exactly what

  150. to do. But that's not the way God operates most

  151. of the time. Most of the time, when I come

  152. to a crossroads, I look down both roads, and if

  153. I don't have complete clarity, then I start down one path,

  154. and if I don't have the peace of God on

  155. that path, I turned around, make my way back to

  156. the fork in the road, and I take the other fork.

  157. I always, one hundred percent of the time I want

  158. to be led by God's peace. Now, that doesn't mean

  159. there won't be struggles. It doesn't mean there won't be obstacles.

  160. What that means is that God will give me peace

  161. through all of those things.

  162. Amen. Amen, Jeremy got right here.

  163. We actually got one from Facebook. Okay, says good morning,

  164. Pastor Steve and Pastor Clay. How can you lead your

  165. child to Christ when they're not taking interest? As a parent,

  166. It's terrifying.

  167. That is a terrifying place to be. And I will

  168. say that the first thing you must do is commit

  169. to intense prayer. You know, we don't know we're lost

  170. until we know we're lost. That moment that the prodigal

  171. son has he has to come to He or she

  172. has to come to themselves before they can come to Christ.

  173. If we're just living with no restraints and we're just

  174. out there and we're just basically surviving and going through

  175. the motions, that's the most dangerous place for us to be.

  176. So we pray for clarity, we pray for conviction, we

  177. pray for those things, We fast if we need to,

  178. and then we live the life in front of them

  179. each and every day, and we don't just always preach

  180. about it, but we live the life and we let

  181. them experience. So when they lay down in the still

  182. of the night, Holy Spirit can speak and say, hey,

  183. did you notice Mom?

  184. Did you notice Dad? That They didn't.

  185. They didn't try to preach you into anything today. They

  186. just showed you the path. Because he's faithful, he'll come

  187. along side us until help in every situation, in every circumstance.

  188. Could I say one thing, Yeah, I'm a new parent,

  189. but I I've noticed that this kind of just comes out.

  190. I think it's the Holy Spirit speak to your children

  191. about who they are, not to what they're doing, but

  192. to who they are and who you know them to be.

  193. In Christ.

  194. One of the things.

  195. Anytime where, anytime there's an issue, anytime we have to discipline,

  196. I always end that discipline with that's not who you are.

  197. Who you are is this. Who you are is a

  198. child of God. Who you are is an honest person.

  199. Who you are is and speak identity. That's how God

  200. speaks to us. And so I think it's important just

  201. as an addendum. Everything is great, but speak life in

  202. that way, speak to their identity, who they really are,

  203. who you know they can be, and watch God do

  204. do powerful things in speaking that life.

  205. Yeah, let me chase this rabbit for just one second.

  206. You're not you weren't just talking about positive affirmation, But

  207. there is. Positive affirmation is a scriptural process. We try

  208. to shy away from it, those of us who are

  209. not completely over in the Prosperity Gospel movement. But the

  210. reality is is that our words have power, and that

  211. when we speak things, those things move in the spiritual world,

  212. in the invisible world. And by speaking who your child is,

  213. or speaking who you are, and you speak those things

  214. out loud, it really does set an atmosphere for the

  215. Holy Spirit to move and operate and work in those situations.

  216. Okay, if we could go back to the last one

  217. day you have on there. I think that one was

  218. actually mind I still have the last one I asked, no,

  219. the one before about when you've been praying about which

  220. path to take?

  221. Oh yeah, okay, yeah, okay.

  222. So you said, if it didn't feel like it was

  223. the direction God, yeah, yeah, turn around and go the

  224. other direction. How do you know that it's not that

  225. it's not being anointed by God, or if it's just

  226. your own fears and it's the devil putting that in

  227. your mind. Because that's where I struggle, is sure, you

  228. just don't know which path to go to get to

  229. where I want to go. Because I know what I

  230. pray for, it needs to be followed up with some action.

  231. I can't just pray and do nothing correct. I need

  232. to pray and do something correct. There could be five

  233. things I could do.

  234. But yeah, so we start.

  235. So going back to my answer, start down that path, right,

  236. and you will know if you have the peace of God.

  237. That's something that you cannot mistake. The peace of God

  238. is that thing that keeps you in the midst of

  239. all that turmoil that normally turns you upside down.

  240. But it doesn't.

  241. But you can also test those things initially by saying, hey,

  242. is this if I go down this path, is this

  243. something that's in accordance with the character and nature of God?

  244. In other words, it's this even scriptural for me to

  245. go down this path. God's never going to lead you

  246. down a path that is contrary to His character and

  247. nature because that's sin. And God will never lead us

  248. down that path. So that's the first question we asked.

  249. And I shouldn't have started where I start. I should

  250. have started there. But you asked that question. And then

  251. if you get into it and things get tough, but

  252. you're not responding the way you normally respond when things

  253. get tough, that could be the peace of God leading

  254. you on and pressing through that. So just I will

  255. promise you this, when you have the peace of God,

  256. you will know it beyond the shadow of a doubt.

  257. Amen.

  258. All right, A juicy one.

  259. Chief.

  260. I like our church the way it is. Why do

  261. things keep changing? This one's all yours?

  262. So first of all, stop looking around to see who

  263. figured who submitted that question?

  264. Right? You know? I here's the thing.

  265. I think a lot of times, let's pull the veil

  266. back a little bit. I think a lot of times

  267. people think that as pastors, and sometimes this is true,

  268. that we try to build what we want, that we

  269. try to build what we like.

  270. But the reality is.

  271. I know, in my case, that's not at all true,

  272. because if I built a worship experience, if I built

  273. a church that was the way I liked it. Sorry, band, sorry,

  274. but we wouldn't even have music. I mean we would

  275. and I think you know that, you know. Uh, we

  276. would come in, I would share message and then we

  277. would open the floor up and we would talk about

  278. it just like this, and then we would go home,

  279. and then I would see y'all next Sunday.

  280. That's what I would prefer. Uh.

  281. That's that's that's how my spiritual growth works, right, But

  282. that's not how your spiritual growth works. And that's not

  283. God's plan for what he wants. So as we build

  284. what God wants, it continuously makes us all uncomfortable, especially

  285. when you're a church like us that's built seeing community

  286. first and then inside, you know, we always have our

  287. eyes on those those those people that have not yet

  288. come here, those people that are still far from Christ.

  289. That's where our eyes are first.

  290. It's why we do it's the filter that we run

  291. everything through first. And as a result of that, because

  292. that keeps changing out there, things changing. Here, everything moves

  293. and is shaped by the pulse of what's happening. We

  294. do four things here. We experience God, walking, freedom, find

  295. our place, and those three things lead to the fourth.

  296. So we can live with purpose because we believe purpose

  297. equals life.

  298. And when you have imagined those four things.

  299. As a tire with four spokes, and when you begin

  300. to see God working on experience, you know, okay, we

  301. want you to push this over here, create things for

  302. experience God, it swells that part of the tire up

  303. and you don't roll smoothly, So then you have to

  304. make adjustments in other places too to keep the tire

  305. rolling smoothly. And that's why it feels like things change.

  306. But the reality is other than Culturally, we haven't changed

  307. anything in two years. I mean, we still do. We

  308. do the same four things. We haven't changed that in

  309. six years. But you know that's uh So when you

  310. say change, I don't know that I really.

  311. Know what that means.

  312. But I will say this too, is that there will

  313. come a day in my life where God is done

  314. with me. Here in other words, one of two things.

  315. Either God is carrying me somewhere else, or my leadership

  316. can no longer carry us to whatever's next, whatever season

  317. is next. When we reach that point, it's time for

  318. me to go somewhere else. And it's possible that that

  319. same thing happens in your life as well, That you

  320. have served your purpose at Cornerstone, that you have done

  321. and completed what's here, or that God has given you

  322. such a powerful piece of the DNA that there is

  323. another church somewhere that needs that peace that you really

  324. have deep down in your heart, and you can go

  325. there and expand and grow the Kingdom of God.

  326. And we bless that. Here's the thing.

  327. We don't try to hold on to everybody because we're

  328. only a tiny little piece of the Kingdom of God.

  329. We're just a little bitty molecule, an atom, a cell

  330. in the Kingdom of God. And if you leave here

  331. and go somewhere and the Kingdom of God grows, that's

  332. a success from Cornerstone. And that's the way we see

  333. it because I'm not trying to build a kingdom.

  334. I'm trying to build the Kingdom.

  335. So you know, if if you feel like that and

  336. you wrestle like that for a long time. I think

  337. maybe you should say, Hey, what is it that I

  338. like so much?

  339. What is it that I'm gravitated towards.

  340. Maybe that that's the anointing and the call of God

  341. on my life, and I need to go help that

  342. grow somewhere. That is the reality for every believer, that

  343. God is progressive and is always working in our lives. Amen,

  344. And that's what we want the best for you. So

  345. that's the best I can do with that. That question becose,

  346. let me Steve.

  347. I'm gonna add to that. Yeah.

  348. Go.

  349. And so, as as a board member, I agree with

  350. absolutely everything he says. But I think that we all

  351. know that if there is no change, and I want

  352. to say change, small change, it's easy to become complacent,

  353. all right. So in my mind I think that change

  354. is good, not huge change, but small change. And as Christians,

  355. we should be growing every day. So that means we

  356. should be changing every day because we are growing.

  357. So I just wanted to add that, Amen, I was good.

  358. I didn't pay him to say that. No, right back here?

  359. Yeah, ye yep, Brandy, Okay, all right, so uh kind

  360. of tying to your last question, I want you to talk

  361. about the calling, the calling for the Lord, whether it

  362. is ministry or whether it is something in our lives.

  363. How does that work?

  364. What it may be better if you could share an

  365. example of that time where God was speaking to you

  366. about something, How to interact with that, how that works,

  367. what to do there?

  368. So okay, sure you know, first of all, we're all

  369. at different places in our walk with God, in our

  370. spiritual maturity, in the discipleship process, right. So our peace

  371. to help you start that process is engage. So we have.

  372. What we call Engage.

  373. It's a place where you go and you you get

  374. a deep understanding of those four things that I talked about,

  375. experience God, walking, freedom, find your place, live with purpose,

  376. get a deep understanding of those things. And you also

  377. in that engage process you receive a spiritual gifts test

  378. which will show you your spiritual giftings as well as

  379. a personality survey, because our personality is how God wires

  380. us and then God and then spiritual gifts are how

  381. God gifts us and how those things work together. The

  382. intersection of how those things work together, it's where purpose

  383. is born. So that engage process is the piece that

  384. we help you do that, but then once you start

  385. walking in it and you feel this pull. I'll give

  386. you a perfect example of it. Pastor Clay grew up

  387. in our church and I've from early middle school until now,

  388. he's been part of cornerstone in my life specifically. So

  389. he went to Bible College. And when he went to

  390. Bible College, you know, the whole time, in the back

  391. of your mind, you're thinking, he's gonna expect a job.

  392. You know, you just kind of figure that that, you know,

  393. he's going to ask me for a job. And when

  394. he went to school, he was not doing music at

  395. all other than rapping. If you've not experienced Pastor Clay's

  396. early formative rap years, you need to experience that.

  397. But he wasn't doing music at all.

  398. So it was like your senior year in college where

  399. you actually came and said, Hey, this is what I

  400. think I want to be. They're going to be a

  401. worship leader. And in my mind, I'm thinking, Bro, you

  402. can't play or sing. I'm just being honest with you.

  403. So in that moment, I had to really get along

  404. with God and say, God, is.

  405. This your plan for our church?

  406. Because this can either be great or terrible, Because he's

  407. so entrenched in the culture of the church that if

  408. you hire him and fire him, that hurts right that

  409. that that that creates some some trouble. So in that moment,

  410. I just had to really say, God, I trust you

  411. to lead me with your peace, and I got peace

  412. about it, and I began to to process through that,

  413. and in the process of processing, it became yet, not

  414. only can this happen, but you need to make this

  415. happen because it's going to carry you to the next level.

  416. Once it became not I'm okay with it, but you

  417. need to make this happen because it's part of the

  418. next level. That's when it became a call. So it's

  419. not just I'm doing what I'm doing and it's okay,

  420. but I need to make this happen. I need to

  421. put legs behind this and I need to walk in

  422. front of it by faith to make it happen. That's

  423. when it became the call. Because the call is never easy.

  424. The call is always going to have friction. It's always

  425. going to be a press, it's always going to be

  426. a push. It's always going to pull us out of

  427. our comfort zone. So that's the call of God.

  428. Does that help. Amen, Nope, nope, right here first and

  429. then back there. Yep.

  430. If God doesn't give up on me, how can I

  431. not give up on someone very close to me? When

  432. there's kids involved, and when it's the time that I

  433. need to just give up. I always say, God doesn't

  434. give up on me. Why do I have to give

  435. up on you?

  436. It's a great question. God never gives up on us.

  437. First of all, never ever, let me say it again,

  438. God never ever gives up on you. I think there's

  439. somebody here right now that you feel like God has

  440. given up on you. And God has never given up

  441. on you. He never will give up on you. He

  442. will always be for you. But we're not God, and

  443. it's hard. Sometimes it's hard to love the unlovable.

  444. Amen.

  445. I think we've all encountered people in our lives that

  446. they refuse to be loved, They refuse to allow us

  447. to be part of their lives.

  448. But we just continue to do that.

  449. Now, there is also the situation, and I don't know which,

  450. because I can read when you people ask questions, I

  451. see multiple sides to the question. Right, So we're always there,

  452. we're always pouring in, we're always there supporting, but there

  453. also becomes that time where we're being pulled across those

  454. energy lines and we have those relationships that leave us exhausted. Amen,

  455. those those times where it's like there's no progress being made,

  456. there's no nothing being made. But we never get to

  457. withdraw our witness to people. We never get to withdraw

  458. our prayers for people. But there does come a time

  459. where we where we have to separate the relational investment

  460. from the spiritual investment. And what I mean by that

  461. is in the relational part of that thing, what it

  462. looked like was if somebody calls, If this person calls

  463. at two o'clock in the morning, I'm answering the phone.

  464. I'm going to talk to four o'clock in the morning.

  465. I gotta be at work at five o'clock in the morning.

  466. And that happens night after night after night, and I'm

  467. I'm my job is suffering, my family's suffering, and I

  468. have to make a distinction.

  469. See, that's the relational aspect of it.

  470. So I can pull back from the relational aspect and

  471. still be very present on the spiritual side and the

  472. supernatural side where I'm continuing to pray and live that

  473. witness in front of people and do those things. So

  474. you just have to know and manage your life so

  475. you can tell whether that relationship is becoming detrimental to

  476. your spiritual walk. Amen, and then you can pull back

  477. the relational side of it, but still put forth the

  478. witness and the spiritual side of it.

  479. Does that help about you?

  480. Well? I guess this is like a two part question

  481. because a lot of people know that you know, me

  482. and Glenn. We work together and it's a very stressful

  483. job sometimes. But I've actually had people at work they

  484. find out that we go to church here, and of

  485. course I get a lot of heat from them because

  486. they think, oh, you're one them Christians. So what I

  487. do since I don't have my Bible with me, I

  488. usually can't. I guess it's like a two part question.

  489. One is I'll pull up on my cell phone some

  490. of my Bible apps and I'll start showing to them,

  491. because I mean, they're coming to me first, and they're saying, Okay,

  492. you don't want we're not this Christian time. But we're

  493. curious about what y'all believe, what y'all do, because it

  494. seems really intriguing because of the website that our church

  495. has but then at one hand, on the other hand,

  496. they wind up turn it into a political debate and

  497. it really they kind of it's like I'm really offending them.

  498. So I guess my question was, I'm using the Bible.

  499. I'm trying to use the Word of God, the only

  500. resources I know, plus what we have here as a

  501. volunteer to try to not I'm not trying to sell

  502. them anything, but I'm trying to convince them. So I'm thinking, Okay,

  503. what am I doing wrong? And if and then the

  504. sycon question is what else can I do? Because I

  505. don't want it to be a debate whether or not

  506. you know what you're wrong. I'm right, and that's all

  507. why there is to it. But I just want you

  508. to at least be exposed. You came to me, so

  509. at least let me share what I believe. And so

  510. I guess that was really like a two part question.

  511. You know, what else can I do? And what am

  512. I doing wrong? Because I'm you know, my involvement with

  513. my family here because to me, this church is a family.

  514. And what you know?

  515. And I guess that's right the a two in one question.

  516. Sure, First of all, I'm going to answer this question

  517. and when I start answering, don't pack up and run

  518. out and think I'm a heretic. Okay, let me get

  519. to the end of my answer, because I you know,

  520. when when you are when you are engaging people that

  521. are that are far from Christ, when you're engaging people.

  522. That are far from Christ.

  523. As Christians, our go to our thing is that we

  524. immediately want to go to the Bible and start quoting scripture.

  525. But they don't understand scripture. Scripture tells us that the

  526. world doesn't understand scripture, that that's the wisdom of God hidden.

  527. Had they known the truth, they wouldn't have crucified the

  528. King of Glory. So we because, okay, the event of

  529. the cross, the event of the cross, Jesus dying.

  530. On the cross is for the lost. Let me say

  531. that again.

  532. Jesus dying on the cross, he did that for the lost,

  533. and then he gave us his word to disciple us

  534. and help us become more like him. So the best

  535. thing you can do is not have the argument, but

  536. live the life and pray and love and point them

  537. to Jesus that whatever the question is, Oh, how can

  538. you say, how can you say women shouldn't speak in church,

  539. or how come you say women can't speak in church

  540. when the Bible says women can't speak in church. And

  541. you're like, hey, you know what, Jesus died for the

  542. sins of the world, and he died for you. And

  543. we're trying to split hairs before we even get the

  544. head in the room. We're trying to we're trying to

  545. make mountains out of out of molehills, because the only

  546. mountain when it comes to the gospel.

  547. Is that Jesus died for our sins and he rose

  548. again and he finished the work.

  549. And now he's seated at the right hand of the Father,

  550. and he's praying for you. Whether you're saved or whether

  551. you lost, Jesus is praying for you. He is your advocate,

  552. and he wants the best for you. So you know that,

  553. because I'm gonna be honest.

  554. With you, Joe.

  555. In my life experience, when somebody asked me specific when

  556. somebody far from Christ asks me specific questions about scripture,

  557. they're looking for an argument, not for Jesus. They're looking

  558. for an argument not Jesus. Yeah, let me get one

  559. of these and then we'll come there.

  560. Sure, let's go.

  561. If you get saved and go back to your old

  562. ways further down the line, leave God behind. In all

  563. the teaching example, you get back into drugs, alcohol, whatever.

  564. I feel like I would go to hell. What do

  565. you think?

  566. First of all, I don't make I don't make the

  567. determination of who goes to hell in heaven, right, I

  568. don't do that.

  569. I can't see inside your heart.

  570. You can look like a perfect example of a believer

  571. on the outside, but not be on the inside. So

  572. fortunately I don't have to make those decisions. But when

  573. we get saved and we come out of stuff, remember

  574. that doesn't mean that stuff came out of us, all right.

  575. When when God.

  576. Delivered Israel out of Egypt, it took a lot longer

  577. for Egypt to be delivered.

  578. Out of Israel.

  579. They kept looking back, wanting to go back, wanting those leaks,

  580. wanting those onions.

  581. I just want to think about I want you to

  582. think about that. They leaks and onions.

  583. It's what they kept talking about, an onion and a leak.

  584. It's why they were willing to go back into bondage.

  585. An onion and a leak. And they were willing to

  586. go back into bondage.

  587. For things that you've got to put with something else

  588. for it to even taste good.

  589. But it took a while for that to work out.

  590. So when we come to Christ and those things start

  591. coming back in, first of all, you need to be

  592. in a group. Need to be in a group, because

  593. that's a support structure around you that keeps you from

  594. sliding back into those things, and if you make a mistake,

  595. stops those things from getting a hold on you again.

  596. So you need to be in a group first and foremost,

  597. you need to be in a group, and.

  598. That protects you the moment, the moment you come.

  599. To the place though, where you have repented of God.

  600. So the way we come into the Kingdom, as we

  601. repent of our sin, Jesus covers us with our grace.

  602. He calls us part makes us a new creation. The

  603. moment we get back to the place where we repent

  604. of God, we have negated our end of the salvation covenant.

  605. Because we're saved by grace through faith. There's always the

  606. faith component to our salvation, and the moment we repent

  607. of God, and that faith is no longer present our

  608. part and it's a very small part, but it's still

  609. our part of the salvation. Covenant is not there, and

  610. you have reached the place where you're lost.

  611. Now, first of all, I.

  612. Want to tell you that this is the question that

  613. has been debated for thousands of years, and I do

  614. not intend on solving all of the problems that you

  615. have with it in your heart from this stage right

  616. now in thirty seconds. Okay, So those are things we

  617. carry to the Lord. That's one of those things. Work

  618. out your salvation with fear and trembling that you get

  619. along with the God, because there's that There is just

  620. as many people in this room right now that probably

  621. believe you can't lose your salvation as there are that

  622. people that say you can. And I just happen to

  623. fall in the camp that you can. In the Book

  624. of Jude, there's spots in your love feast, their clouds

  625. blown about by the wind. Twice dead, pulled up by

  626. the roots, is what it says in the Book of Jude.

  627. Twice dead, And this is the scripture that keeps me

  628. from believing in eternal salvation, eternal security. That's it, that

  629. scripture in the Book of Jude, Because how can you

  630. be twice dead if you weren't first made alive? So

  631. we're born dead, we're made alive, then we find ourselves

  632. twice dead. And that's what keeps me from because I

  633. want to believe in eternal security. I want to believe

  634. that every person I lead to the Lord right here,

  635. or that I lead to the Lord in the grocery store,

  636. that I lead to the Lord wherever I am, that

  637. those people are are they've got it now. Chances are

  638. that's probably not the reality, because there people will come

  639. to a place where they Now you can get lost

  640. in sin, still have the Salvation Covenant active in your life.

  641. Two more, two more.

  642. I didn't just necessarily mean from you either. I mean

  643. I just meant two more in general. You showed me

  644. that book. It's got like forty pages.

  645. Yeah, okay, I have to do the one question. This

  646. is a question that was given to you on Facebook. Okay,

  647. I want to know how much wood.

  648. Can wood chuck? Chuck?

  649. If a wood chuck.

  650. All of chuck? What all of it? Chuck all of it? Okay.

  651. My real question is last week you talked about Guide

  652. chose us. We didn't choose him, all right, the kind

  653. of fights with God giving us free will because we

  654. chose him? So are you meaning that God chose us

  655. by having his Sunday on the cross. Yes, okay, and

  656. this gave us salvation. Yes, okay, that was my question.

  657. Yeah, we don't have the we don't have the capacity

  658. to bridge the gap.

  659. That chasm between us and God on our own.

  660. We don't have the ability to get across that chasm.

  661. We gotta have Jesus there. He chose us, and then

  662. we receive his choosing. We received because He chooses everybody.

  663. Then we receive his choosing in our lives.

  664. Back here somebody, and we're gonna take one more.

  665. We're gonna do this one. Then we're gonna take one

  666. more there, and then we'll be done.

  667. Okay.

  668. When God talked about heart and hearts, do you think

  669. that sometimes it begins with our heart heartening towards humanity.

  670. Yeah? It can.

  671. Yeah, yeah, and most certainly can you know? The thing

  672. is when we look at when we look at you know,

  673. the the great commandment, love the Lord your God with

  674. all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Second is like it,

  675. love your neighbor as yourself. Those things work.

  676. Together. A vertical really, I.

  677. Mean, a horizontal relationship will never be right until my

  678. vertical relationship is right, And I can't have proper vertical

  679. relationship without having proper horizontal relationships either.

  680. So when we begin.

  681. To look at at those things, yes, certainly, when we've

  682. been hurt, when we have been traumatized, when we're just

  683. sick and tired of people, because following the Lord will

  684. never be sick and tired of people, then it certainly

  685. can cause us to see God in a diminished or

  686. a different.

  687. Capacity, cause our hearts to grow hard for sure. Yeah,

  688. good question right here we have we haven't answered very

  689. many of those.

  690. So okay, okay, even though I have a career of

  691. family and a place in our community, I still struggle

  692. with time.

  693. It's my sense of purpose.

  694. What can I do when I feel like I'm not

  695. living up to it even though my life is already

  696. crazy busy, So.

  697. That, okay, this is a This is another one of

  698. those I kind of read into that question is if

  699. there's guilt, and.

  700. The reality is that's probably condemnation from the enemy.

  701. Because we talk about purpose all the time here, you know,

  702. that's our big thing is we want you to find purpose.

  703. So the enemy will make you feel guilty when you

  704. don't feel like you are living in a perfect expression

  705. of purpose. But purpose is a journey as well, and

  706. there are different seasons of life.

  707. So your purpose, chasing.

  708. Your purpose and living out your purpose looks very different

  709. as say a mom and dad of teenagers than it

  710. does as someone who's children are out living on their

  711. own and you know that they're not dependent on you

  712. in any way. And also if you've got you know,

  713. twin babies and two toddlers, those are all different different

  714. seasons of life and the time we have. Because here's

  715. the thing, Our purpose is this, right, our purpose is this,

  716. But there are also scriptural obligations that are true for

  717. every person. So it is your responsibility if you have children,

  718. to prioritize the raising and upbringing of those children. But

  719. it may not fit beautifully into what we consider purpose, right,

  720. but as a parent, that's your spiritual scriptural obligation. Same

  721. if you're married, your scriptural spiritual obligation is to fulfill

  722. your partner, to believe in their dreams, to help their

  723. dreams become reality, to do those things. And that might

  724. not line up completely with purpose, but the reality is

  725. we do. We pursue our purpose and we do the

  726. things we can and the season of life that we're

  727. in in order to pursue purpose. It is the pursuit

  728. of purpose that are tracks the spirit of God to

  729. our lives. Jesus said to himself, the spirit of the

  730. Lord is upon me because he has anointed me too.

  731. And then he listed his purpose. He listed his job description.

  732. That job description is the thing that attracts the spirit

  733. of God. And when the spirit of God there, there's freedom,

  734. there's peace, there's all of those things that come with

  735. the presence of God. So stop feeling guilty about not

  736. try not being on purpose, and start pursuing purpose, and

  737. you'll have that peace and that joy back in your

  738. life again because the enemies convinced you that you're not enough,

  739. and you are enough. Okay, we're gonna take one more.

  740. This is it right here, because I've already kept y'all. Well, no,

  741. if I was making an altar call, we would be

  742. going longer.

  743. So we'll go ahead.

  744. Steve kind of bouncing off of what Kayla said, and

  745. you answered some of it, just saining and sees the

  746. whity doest people harden their heart and get misled. Well,

  747. sometimes life, life gets in the way. Things happen, Tragedy happens,

  748. and when those things come into life, it opens the

  749. door for the devil to stick his foot in there,

  750. and he magnifies all of that to get your attention

  751. to turn from what God is really trying to show you.

  752. And you've got to look deeper, and you've got to

  753. look beyond that, because even in the midst of all

  754. of that, God is still working. He never left you.

  755. But in the world that we live in, people that

  756. are not close to God, they don't mean to do it,

  757. but they use a tragedy and they talk to you

  758. about it to keep it fresh in your mind to

  759. build that wall, and it keeps letting the devil try

  760. to creep in, to block you off and to harden

  761. your heart. And that's you know, in my life, I've

  762. went through several things. But with what she asked and

  763. what that you said, am I right in looking at

  764. it in that aspect?

  765. Yeah, for sure, And I'm gonna go a step further

  766. to Yeah, you're right and looking at that. The enemy

  767. will use any tool he can to distract us from

  768. our purpose, especially people close to us. Oh, if the

  769. enemy can use somebody close to you to derail your purpose,

  770. he's gonna use that person because that's the best tool

  771. that he has. So I'm gonna tell you how to

  772. stay on track. How about that by doing the most

  773. spiritual thing I ever taught you.

  774. Write it down.

  775. When I say, the most spiritual thing I can ever

  776. teach you is to write it down.

  777. What's it it, whatever it is, write it down.

  778. If it's something you're battling, write it down with purpose,

  779. write that purpose. Write it down. Keep it in front

  780. of you so your eyes see it. Put it on

  781. your dash, put it on your bathroom mirror. Put it

  782. on the refriger I mean, if you eat as much

  783. as I do, put on the refrigerator. You'll see that

  784. twenty times a day. I mean, you know, So you

  785. put it on the refrigerator and you keep it in

  786. front of you so that the purpose is there. Bam

  787. bam bam. This purpose is purpose. So this distraction comes

  788. in and listen. I may do this, but then when

  789. I see my purpose again, I can then quickly readjust

  790. and get back into alignment. The problem is is that

  791. we let something move us two tore and it takes

  792. a long time to realize we're not living on purpose

  793. because at two degrees the separation doesn't get very wide

  794. until way down there. So as long as we keep

  795. it in front of us and we keep pulling ourselves

  796. back to purpose.

  797. Then we can live that life on purpose and we

  798. can do it intentionally. Amen. Amen, So, uh, guys, y'all

  799. do one more for you? Yeah? Oh okay, yeah, okay.

  800. In today's world, we have a lot of the social

  801. media and stuff. Being a parent with kid, it's not

  802. going to necessarily go read the Bible. He's going to

  803. look on YouTube and stuff like that. With all the

  804. different religions and all the different books there's out there,

  805. how do you how do you let them know what

  806. to listen to and what not to listen to?

  807. Does that make sense? Oh? Yeah, it makes perfect sense.

  808. I am a personal believer that you should be intrusive

  809. into everything your kid does. I believe that you should

  810. know what they watch on YouTube, that you should you

  811. should know what they're doing on Instagram that uh, And

  812. to be honest with you, you know, probably like Twitter, I

  813. would say they need to be a much more mature

  814. person before they before you even let them have a

  815. Twitter account, and you know, you need to know what

  816. they watch.

  817. And then here's the thing, though, it's easy to just.

  818. Say, okay, well I'm not going to let them blanket statement.

  819. But it's much better parenting is if you get involved

  820. in that with them, and then you parent them and

  821. coach them through it. So in other words, I'm not

  822. going now, I'm not talking about sin. I'm not talking

  823. about stuff that's sin. But I'm talking about you know,

  824. whatever show it is. I don't know, The Bachelor, I

  825. don't know. I just I saw a commercial for it

  826. last night, The Bachelor. So hey, you know your kids like, oh,

  827. everybody's school is watching the back that they don't.

  828. By the way, if.

  829. You're a middle schooler said everybody's watching The Bachelor, they're lying,

  830. oh yeah. So you sit down with them and you

  831. watch the show, and then you're telling them, hey, you know,

  832. this is not real life. Those people are getting paid.

  833. They pulled them aside and they told them what to say.

  834. This is not the way love is. This is not

  835. real life, this is not the way relationships are developed.

  836. As a matter of fact, this is the way a relationship.

  837. And you parent them through those things, right, rather than

  838. just trying to let them go and then fix it later,

  839. get involved in the process and parent them through those

  840. things and be hands on through every situation. And hey,
