So much, and listen right now to start advent season.
-
I want you now listen. I mean everybody knows he's
-
a fixture around here, Butody, I just wanted to have
-
just take a moment to give honor to a man
-
that meant so much to my life.
-
Who's my pastor.
-
He officiated my wedding, he was there through so many
-
ups and downs in my life. He gave me my
-
first opportunity to preach and did so much for me.
-
And what I want you to do is I want
-
you to welcome him like you would a guest here,
-
because we have an honor and a privilege to hear
-
from an anointed man of God this morning. Uh, Pastor Gary,
-
come on up and preach God's word and come on,
-
let me hear you, let me hear you. Come on,
-
come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
-
I know you got it. I just I just I
-
just did.
-
If you fail and I want't over there to catch you,
-
everybody will look bad at me though, So.
-
Thank you, my brother. And you know if I fell,
-
you wouldn't have been the one that felt bad beat
-
yourself up. It would have been Glenn back there. I
-
just appreciate Glenn sticking by me and being my armor
-
bearer for so many years. Just just tell you a
-
little story about Glenn and Nancy. They were coming to
-
church here. Of course, his grandmother was a member here
-
and a precious thing of God and loved her so much.
-
And Glenn and Nancy were coming. Uh uh. Before Glenn
-
came with his first wife and the boys, they were little.
-
I mean I saw Alan grow up, and uh, I
-
remember the first time y'all came and you sat over
-
here with your grandmother. And the Holy Spirit spoke to
-
me that day and he said, they're supposed to be
-
plugged in here. And I never told him that because
-
it would have looked like I was trying to manipulate
-
his life. But I just prayed about it and trust
-
of the Lord. You know, the Holy Spirit tells us
-
in Glatians five five that the Holy Spirit helps us
-
to wait. You ever been to that place where you
-
can't wait for You'll look it up later read it,
-
or you can look it up now. I really don't
-
matter me, but he helps you to wait. And there's
-
some things we just have to wait on. The next thing.
-
You know, years went by and I hadn't sent him.
-
He comes to church with this beautiful lady, Nancy, and
-
she is a jewel, just a wonderful, wonderful person, and
-
then had the privilege of marrying them and he's been
-
plugged in here ever since. So tell a lot of
-
stories about Glenn and Nancy and Allen and Taylor and
-
all that, how the Holy Spirit's worked in their lives
-
and our lives. Actually, that's what I want to preach about.
-
I'd like to share with you a message entitled the
-
Holy Spirit and Christmas. And I hope that you are blessed.
-
But more than anything else, I hope you are filled
-
with the Holy Spirit of God. Now I want to
-
say hello to my mother who's watching online. I think
-
she's watching online. She fell and broke four ribs this
-
week and she's been recovering. And thank you Carrie for
-
being over there with her and spending the night with
-
her and all that you've done to help. And we
-
need her so much because my brother is in Texas
-
with his wife's family. So, as our pastor has said,
-
Pastor Clay said, this is advanced season. I have already
-
watched fourteen Hallmark movies. My wife said, you ain't sitting
-
there and watching them with me. Well, let me say
-
that there's been one on our TV every day, and
-
I love the joke about it. Some of them are
-
you know, makes some b rating, and some of them
-
I'm just teasing that there's some good messages and and
-
some of those folks, I feel sure really have Christ
-
in their lives. But not only that, I've I've already
-
heard all the popular Christmas songs. I mean, they used
-
to start playing those things after Christmas, but now they
-
played them before Christmas. And I've always judged whether we're
-
in the advent or Christmas season by one song. When
-
you've heard this song twice, we are right in the
-
flow of Christmas. And it's the song Burro Lives sings
-
have a Holly, Holly Christmas. And I guess because one
-
year that's all I heard every time I turn on
-
the radio. But I've heard all the not only that,
-
seen the movies, heard the songs. I'm already totally exhausted
-
from Christmas shopping. My finger has been doing like this
-
the whole time. It's like that commercial guy goes, oh, oh,
-
not too much. If you watch football, you know what
-
that one is. But I don't even decorate for Christmas.
-
But I'm finished decorating now. My wife is an exceptional decorator.
-
She loves it. I mean, she is a decorator par
-
excellence and it really looks nice when she finishes. But
-
there's a lot of pressure she puts on herself, and
-
we try to help her do what she loves to do.
-
Oh you heard the story about the two guys from Alabama.
-
These two guys were out in the woods. They went
-
to get a Christmas tree, and so they're traps in
-
through the woods and they're looking for a Christmas tree
-
and all of a sudden they see a bear over there,
-
and they they start running and the guy that was
-
in the rear catches and passes the guy in front
-
of him. They get over the hill and they stopping
-
her out of breath and said, we gotta we gotta
-
find a Christmas tree. And then all of a sudden
-
they see they see some wolves, a pack of wolves.
-
Said we our lives have been in hazard. Here we
-
got and they start running from the wolves. Finally, when
-
they realized they were out of the danger of the wolves.
-
One guy's hastening, he said, he said, listen, I'm cutting
-
down the next Christmas tree, if it's decorated or not
-
so uh, I guess he was looking for one already decorated.
-
The word advance means a rival. It's or an appearing
-
or coming into its place. And we speak of Christ
-
and his first advent, or we speak about Jesus and
-
his second advent, his first coming, his second coming, his
-
appearing and advanced. Season is the season for four Sundays,
-
always the nearest Sunday to November thirtieth it begins. So
-
you have four Sundays, then you have the Christmas Sunday,
-
which is the or the advent or Christmas Day. Excuse me?
-
Where you like the candle that we did here for
-
the christ candle? And we have a Christmas Eve service
-
here at five o'clock on December to twenty fourth. We
-
want you to be a part of that and it
-
won't last about an hour or less, and you can
-
be there and be here in worship Christ and then
-
attendure with your family traditions. But every seasons is a
-
season that has been recognized as a time of celebrate
-
breeding Christ and his coming. Yes, it's a traditional season
-
that the church, the Christian Church has celebrated for hundreds
-
of years now that will rub somebody raw because you're
-
just a lone ranger out there and you just came up.
-
I don't think we have to do everything the way
-
the traditional church did back Martin Luther's day. And well,
-
you know what, you try to throw out all of
-
the things that the church has brought us through to
-
today and you're in a major qua quagmire of disbelief
-
and and uh struggling to hear from God. I'm sure. So.
-
Advent is celebrated by liturgical churches, churches like the Catholic Church, uh,
-
Lutheran churches and many other churches. They have a lot
-
of pomp and and uh things that they do for
-
in their services, and and the pageantry is just kind
-
of immaculated. I mean really it captures you when you
-
go to those kinds of services, and we don't do
-
that in our church. Look at that while he's wearing there.
-
You know, we got to get Steve one of those
-
pointed hat, you know. But but is also celebrated by
-
a lot of people like us evangelical churches, people who
-
recognize Jesus and he came into this world and these
-
four Sundays lead up to uh now Christmas Day, and
-
then then Epiphany, which is January sixth, and which is
-
the twelve Days of Christmas. Oh, by the way, on
-
the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me.
-
Come on up arge, all right now we're gonna sing
-
all twelve verses. No, the uh the twelve days is Christmas,
-
starts on Christmas Day and goes to Epiphany. And Epiphany
-
was that time when the early Church traditionally saw as
-
when the Magi showed up to Jesus to the main well,
-
probably a Nazareth city of the Manger. And so yeah,
-
you've heard people talk say, well, I've just had an epiphany. Well,
-
the word epiphany actually means a revelation of discovery, and
-
the Magi discovered after a long, ardulous journey, they discovered
-
the one who star they had saw in the sky,
-
and what the Bible says, joy filled their hearts. By
-
the way, it'd be interesting to read the Christmas story
-
and Matthew and Luke is the ones who gives us
-
the full meaning or depth of the Christmas story as
-
we know it on the earth. John gives us a
-
Christmas story before Jesus came, his pre incarnate life in
-
him was life, and the life is a lot of men.
-
John says, but he said the Word was made flesh,
-
so he talks about Jesus in that sense. But Matthew
-
and Luke. Matthew wrote for the Jews to present Christ
-
as the king, and he uses a lot of Jewish
-
idioms and things that Jews would understand. Marks for the Greeks.
-
And Mark doesn't tell about Jesus's birth and all that.
-
Why because he he sees Jesus as a servant. Nobody
-
cares about the lineage and the heritage of a servant.
-
He just serves. But then we get to Luke. Luke
-
writes to present Jesus as the son of Man is
-
purely God, one hundred percent God, but also man, one
-
hundred percent man. How can that be? Did you know
-
that we've always had people that's just celebrated and want
-
to try to put God and man together? What do
-
you think Zeus is Hermes and triting out of the sea,
-
and and all of these gods the Greeks had, they
-
were to be superhumans. They represented a savior of some kind.
-
But God, who who saw that we needed a savior,
-
sent us Jesus born into the flesh like us. He's
-
like you and like me, and he has the same
-
kind of things that we go through. Jesus encountered as things.
-
So we begin to see that the magi came, and
-
uh and the bird. The Bible uses a word for
-
them for breath, and in the Hebrewish rush it means
-
it's the same word for spirit or wind. I want
-
you to see the scripture Isaiah fifty nine nineteen. In
-
the west, the people we will respect the name of
-
the Lord. In the east day will glorify him, for
-
he will come like a raging flood tide, driven by
-
the breath of the Lord. I think the New King
-
James Standards says, when the enemy comes in like a flood,
-
the Lord will raise up a standard against him. The
-
New Living Testament or translation says, like the driven by
-
the breath of the Lord. Let me ask you something.
-
Have you ever had the breath of God breathe upon you?
-
Come on? Now? Gee, have you have you ever been
-
in a church service or a time of prayer point
-
in your life where you're pouring your heart out to
-
God and you're hungry for him and you were just
-
tight with the Lord. I mean, he's got your attention,
-
you got his, and all of a sudden, you you
-
since the breath of God breathing on you. Well, I
-
got news for you. I felt the breath of God
-
breathing on me. He wasn't actually a real wind like
-
they felt on the day of Penesecost and Saul. That
-
was the breath of God and the Holy Spirit.
-
We used to sing a song in church, let him
-
breathe on me, Let him breathe one me.
-
Let the breath of God now breathe on me. Usually
-
in an order service. We're singing that. And it's almost
-
like I remember as a kid, the Holy Spirit moving
-
in the church and it's just God is just gripping
-
my heart and I just feel so so comfortable and
-
since his presence and it's like he's breathing on me.
-
I know that he's breathed. I'm singing that asking him
-
to breathe upon me. Well, God wants to breathe on you. Oh,
-
listen to this. Have you ever read that scripture over
-
in John as after the Resurrection of Christ John twenty,
-
In the verse twenty one, G said, unto them again,
-
peace to you as the Father has sent me, I
-
also send you. And when he had said this, he
-
breathed on them. I believe if God breathed on the
-
disciples and he told him, he said, receive the Holy Ghost,
-
receive the Holy Spirit, I believe that's what happens. When
-
God breathes upon us, we receive the Holy Spirit of God.
-
I believe the Bible teaches that there is a baptism
-
in the Holy Spirit for the believers, and I believe
-
that when we're baptizing the Holy Spirit. I believe there's
-
times that we begin to get empty. We got filled
-
one time. I believe that that was a baptism. I
-
believe there's one baptism, one baptism, many refeelings. I remember
-
there was one saint whould go to the ultra and
-
they pray every time. This old guy, he just lifted
-
his hands and he cry out, Lord, feel me, Lord,
-
feel me. And everybody else is praying, and they're hearing
-
one thing and then another, and but he just seemed
-
to aggravate this one woman because that's all she heard
-
him say, Lord, feel me, Lord, feel me. Week after week,
-
service after service, and finally one Sunday night, they were
-
at the Order and the man just, Lord, feel me,
-
and she jumps up and says, don't do it. Lord,
-
he leaks. You know, the problem is we all leak.
-
We all have spirit. God breathes upon us, and we
-
have times when we're filled with the Holy Spirit. We
-
can run through a wall and leap a truth. You know,
-
I got that backwards. Someone said we can run through
-
a troop and leave a wall when the Holy Spirit
-
comes by. I remember when Joey Hughes got baptized and
-
the Holy Ghost. I said, what were you doing out
-
there that stops on? He said, I was preaching. I said,
-
you're preaching that the stop sign, wasn't you. Yeah, when
-
you get the Baptists and the Holy Ghost Rundre, you
-
just feeled and you just that this is no way
-
to explain it. It's like the old old pastor said,
-
it's better felt than tell any time. And I want
-
to tell you something. I believe you can feel God's spirit.
-
I believe that you can just literally know that He's
-
air and his breath is upon you. But I believe
-
there are times when you get dry, and there are
-
times when you get cold, and you even make become
-
a little indifferent. Have a critical attitude. I've been inflicted
-
with that a time or two in my life. Just
-
critical of everything. You ever been critical of your wife?
-
Don't answer? I advise you not to answer. Look straight
-
in this way. I advise you not to be critical
-
of your wife, especially in her presence. She forgets nothing.
-
You ever be critical of your husband? Listen, Sometimes we're
-
filled with a critical spirit. Sometimes we're filled with such
-
a mundane worldly spirit that all we want to do
-
is watch things that are worthing and and or ten
-
things that are worthy, but there's no spiritual significance in
-
our lives. Seemed like that we saw our plug put
-
in the bathtub and filled up for the water, and
-
that represents the spirit of God, and it feels so good.
-
But somehow, while you're taking a bath, your told reach
-
down there and hit the chain and pull the stop
-
ro out, and you're still bathing. The next thing you know,
-
there's no water there. You know, sometimes it's that way
-
when the Holy spirit is it's just kind of drains
-
out because we pull the plug. We may know where
-
we did it, or we may not know where we've
-
done it. Okay, I want to give you quickly here
-
concerning Christmas. In the Christmas Story, there are six instances
-
where people were filled with the Holy Spirit. Filled with
-
the Holy Spirit, let me tell you something. You need
-
to be filled with the Holy Spirit. If you're a
-
Christian you've been saved. Listening online now may be the
-
missing element in your life, not being filled with the
-
Holy Spirit, trying to do everything yourself without relying upon Him.
-
When I got filled with the Holy Spirit, listen to
-
me now, when I got baptized in the Holy Spirit,
-
it helped my Christian experience and walk with Christ ten
-
thousand percent. I'm telling you, he governized my faith. He
-
hung a wagon load of confidence in my soul, and
-
I was able to fight the devil. I could fight
-
him until I was no more teeth in my mouth,
-
and then then coming back till he couldn't stand it.
-
You don't see, God will give you the power to
-
DeHorn him and send him back to hell. When you're
-
filled with the Holy Ghost and God breathes upon you
-
and you feel the breath of God. Oh, hallylujah, hallelujah,
-
We'll give the Lord a hand. If you're gonna clap,
-
you're clapping for him. Thank you, my brother, to preach
-
the water down hedn'tah, I might step on that the
-
Holy Spirit of God. Here's what I want for you
-
this Christmas season. I want you to experience the Holy
-
Spirit in his fullness and in his power this Christmas season.
-
And here's what you're going to do this first Advanced
-
Sundays Sunday by hope. Our hope is in Jesus, and
-
listen to me. Look for Jesus to do something special
-
in your life. Many times it may be in an
-
area where you're not really expecting it. You know, it's
-
not really sure. Couple of people here right now that
-
God's going to open up something to you. You're looking
-
for it. You're looking for it. Keep looking, keep prophesy,
-
keep believing, keep trusting. Okay. Six instances in Luke Chapter one,
-
John the Baptist where we know that sure you do.
-
John de Baptist is filled with the Holy Spirit from
-
his mother's womb. What happens is that that John de
-
Baptist is six months older than Jesus. And Mary comes
-
to the hill country there and Judea where Elizabeth and
-
Zachariasis living over. They she enters the house and when
-
she enters the house, Elizabeth sees Mary and recognizes her,
-
and the Holy Spirit feels John de Baptist in the
-
womb of his mother, Oh, hellelujah. I believe that God
-
can speak to you in the womb, or even before
-
you're in the womb. Number of times that I prayed
-
for people to be able to have children that were
-
unable to have children, and God give me a word.
-
I go to them and tell them how you're going
-
to have a baby, and they get a baby. Oh
-
this it's not about me. God could have sent anybody
-
else to tell them. It says about them believing and
-
having hope, and God has a plan. You're so intricately
-
involved in God's plan. We're so closely connected to him.
-
Listen to this. John the Baptist was filled with the
-
Holy Spirit and empowered even as a child, and that's
-
why when it came time he started preaching a difficult message,
-
repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, telling
-
a bunch of hard headed, stiff neck, angler nosed Phariseic people, Hey,
-
you gotta you've got to You've got to repent, and
-
they thought they were the ones that was righteous. The
-
second person filled with the Holy Guss was Mary and Luke.
-
Chapter one of verse thirty five, it says the Angel
-
answered and said, unto her, the Holy Spirit will come
-
upon you, and the power of the Highest overshadow you.
-
Therefore also that Holy One who is born will be
-
called the Son of God. Let me tell you something.
-
You need to grip this. You need to get this
-
in your spirit. The very same power that calls Mary
-
to be impregnated with the Holy Spirit is the very
-
same power that transforms your soul when you repair and
-
cry out to Jesus, Lord, save me. I needs you.
-
It takes that same power, the same Holy Spirit. And
-
the Bible tells us if the Holy Spirit, this same
-
spirit dwell in you that dwell in Christ Jesus, he
-
shall what He shall raise up your mortal bodies. Listen.
-
It took all the power of the Holy Spirit. Oh,
-
I don't know if it took it every bit, but
-
it was easy for him to feel and overshadow Mary.
-
And next thing, you know, when I cried out to God,
-
I'll never forget when I cried out, God saved me. Listen.
-
It was so quick. It was an instant for me.
-
It was such an instant, and God saved me. So
-
I gotta go by the way I know. I want you.
-
I want you to notice the next one. Elizabeth Luke,
-
chapter one, forty one through forty five. And it happened
-
when there was Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that
-
the babe leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled
-
with the Holy Ghost, well John inside of her roomb.
-
But then Elizabeth, and I want you to notice the
-
next part, it says, and she spoke out with a
-
loud voice and said, blessed are you among women? And
-
blessed are the is the fruit of your womb. Here's
-
what I want you to Here's what I want you
-
to see. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Well,
-
the Bible says you will speaking tongues or prophesy, you
-
will speak out. We believe that you know that it's Pentecostals.
-
We believe that initial physical evidence of receiving the baptism
-
the Holy ghosts is the speaking in tongues, as the
-
spirit gives evidence. We believe that. And here we have
-
Elizabeth filled with the Holy Ghost, and she speaks out.
-
He said, will there want in tongues? She speaks out.
-
When God breathes upon you. I believe something's gonna come out.
-
I believe he's gonna uncourt something, and you're gonna just
-
let the Holy Spirit flow, for out of your inmost
-
being shall flow rivers of living water. Oh listen, God
-
wants you to be filled with the Holy Spirit this
-
Christmas season. I ain't got enough money to buy all
-
the kid's gifts. That's okay. Be filled with the spirit.
-
I don't have a sketchuer all my family can get together.
-
That's okay. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Oh listen,
-
she spoke out. The fourth person who was filled with
-
the Holy Spirit was Zacharias. Look at Luke one sixty seven.
-
Then his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit.
-
Listen to this and gave the prophecy. He spoke out, prophesied, listen,
-
when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, just go ahead
-
and speak out. Just go ahead and let him flow
-
out of your inmost be Oh helllujah. Somebody said it
-
don't sound right, Isaiah said, He said, with stammory lips
-
in another tongue. Will he speak to this people saying
-
this is the rest we're with. You shall call the
-
weary to rest. And this is the refreshing. Oh, ben
-
filled with the Holy Spirit. You may not do anything
-
but have some stammory lips, But somehow you're speaking out
-
and you're speaking to the Lord. He that speaking into
-
an unknown tongue. Speak of nothing the men, but of
-
the God. Oh listens, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
-
and listen to the next one. Simeon Luke, Chapter two,
-
verse twenty five through thirty five. The Holy Spirit was
-
upon him. I liked that the Holy Spirit was upon him.
-
An old man that were bringing Jesus to be circumcised.
-
He had revealed to see men. He would not die
-
till he had seen the Lord's Messiah. That day the
-
spirit led him into the temple. You see, that's one
-
thing about being filled with the Holy Ghost. He just
-
leads you. He just leads you. Larry, I believe I
-
told you this. The other day. I went to Laura's
-
audre and I went to Laura's reception for being married.
-
And I still look in her eyes every time I
-
see her. That's a joke between me and her all
-
the way. When we left, we left a little bit early,
-
and driving down the road, I knew I was supposed
-
to see or visit someone I knew it and uh,
-
but I didn't know who it was. He ever been
-
like that same thing with Simon. He knew he was
-
supposed to go in there, but he didn't know who
-
it was. So I'm riding down the road and I
-
point to or I'll try to say, hey, that's where
-
Wayne Dean lived. And when soon as I said that,
-
the Holy Spirit said, go to JD's house. It's across
-
the road. So I turned in, went down Mustang Drive
-
out of Circle of Faranel, went to JD's house.
-
J D.
-
Elliott, his family owns Elliott Trucking And as I so,
-
I went in there and I saw Pat. She had
-
just come from the hospital and JD was in the hospital.
-
I wasn't fully aware of that. So I talked to
-
her a little bit, prayed with her, and then on
-
the way out, she said John Boy his his name
-
on I called him John Boy, but said his wife's Karen.
-
Her dad just passed away just an hour or two ago.
-
I said, well, I'll call him. So when I leave,
-
I get on the phone and on the radio in
-
the car there when I'm driving off, and call John
-
Boy and he answers and he says, boy, Gary, you
-
must have a hot line to marry and murk, because
-
they had just left at the funeral home. I said, no,
-
my brother, you wouldn't believe how many times my ministry
-
spend the Holy Spirit leading me. I thought I sent
-
by there to encourage pat and maybe even if JD
-
was at home, and I probably was. But as I
-
prayed for them going down the road, Karen began to
-
weep and weep and weep. Her daddy had just passed away,
-
and there was somebody that come and brought some comfort
-
through the power of the whole Spirit. Oh listen, he
-
will lead you. You're filled with the Holy Spirit. And
-
the last one is Anna. The same same time, and
-
the prophet is Annah. She begins praising God. Luke six
-
two thirty six. She began praising God. She talked about
-
the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for
-
God to rescue du Jerusalem. These people were filled with
-
the Holy Spirit, every one of them. Their whole life
-
was consumed with God and with the Holy Spirit. God
-
wants you to be filled with His presence. When God
-
filled me with the Holy Spirit and I was baptized
-
with the Holy Spirit, I was going to school at
-
Emmanuel College. My roommates were Bill Jones Tony Moon. Tony
-
Moon later came back to be a professor at Emmanua
-
College served as my assistant pastor of church I used
-
to pastor and they were receiving the Baptist in. My
-
holy spirit was on fire for God, and I remember
-
I remember going down to the altar at church. It
-
was a revival service and praying, please Lord, feel me, please, please, Please,
-
let me tell you don't have to beg God. And
-
I've always heard that, didn't really know what it meant,
-
please God. And I'm saying, please God. All of a sudden,
-
the word please, I couldn't form it, but it was
-
so much easier to form the word praise. Praise you Jesus.
-
When I use the word praise instead of the word please,
-
all of a sudden and something turned over in my
-
unmost being. I mean, it felt so good. I gotta
-
say that word again. And I started saying, pray Jesus.
-
I said, praise you Jesus, Praise Jesus, Praise Jesus. Praise
-
Jesus said, And as I began to praise Him and
-
just began to flow out of my heart so easy,
-
and I can feel the breath of God breathing upon me.
-
And the next thing you know, I started speaking in
-
a language. I spoke why because I was being filled,
-
just like these individuals in the b were spoke when
-
they got filled. Oh, Hellelujah. I was so excited. My
-
mother was living in Florida. My mother and daddy were
-
living in Florida. Do Rent, Florida. I go to the
-
only phone on campus. It was a payphone right outside
-
the library there, and it was in a phone booth.
-
And I go in that phone booth and I call
-
my mother collect because I'm not just we just never
-
had any money. It's a college students called her collect
-
when she when she answered the phone, I said, Mama,
-
guess what she said, You've been filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
I said, how'd you know? She said, I could feel it. Oh,
-
let me tell you something. Other people know when you're
-
filling with the spirit of God. Oh. The other day
-
at the house, Rihanna was there and Robbie and the
-
kids and been through so many things with the kids
-
and being sick and stuff. And Grandma was there, and
-
all of a sudden, Grandma says, I just want to
-
pray for y'all. Come over, and she started talking in tones.
-
We knew the Holy Ghost was in that room with us.
-
I mean, it don't take much for the tones that
-
come out of her. She's so full of the Holy
-
goes and she's prayers. That's what she knows to do,
-
and she sits is God's presence. And I want to
-
tell you that you can have the spirit of God
-
breathing in your life. Just ask him asking, you shall receive,
-
Seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be
-
opened under you for everyone to ask us to receive it.
-
Everyone who seeks, fine, and to him who knocks, it
-
shall be opened. Listen. It's the beginning step when you
-
were filled, but it's a step further with the Lord
-
when you're refilled. And some of you just need to
-
be refilled today. The attitude has got stinking, your thought
-
life has been loose. You just feel the void of
-
God's presence when you'll say I need to be refilled.
-
Not please Jesus, but prist Jesus. Clay, you guys, come on,
-
and I want you to know that God wants you
-
to be filled with the spirit of God today and
-
during this Christmas season. It don't have to happen right
-
here in this sanctuary all the time. I remember one
-
time Wendy was preaching and she got up. She couldn't
-
hardly stand it. She couldn't, I mean, she couldn't hardly
-
say what she needed to say. She had been by
-
her bed, on her knees, and she had met God.
-
I never forgot that, Wendy, Just how I mean, you
-
could see the whole the Holy Spirit all over you.
-
Oh Halelujah, oh hall helujah. You see a lot of
-
times when I see people, I'll tell them I've been
-
praying for you the words laid you on my heart
-
this week. I don't know if they just hear that
-
so much. But you know what, when I say that,
-
I really mean it. I don't have time to tell
-
you of many experiences of that concern, of that God
-
has you on his heart all the time. Would you
-
stand all across his congregation with me, hallelujah, Halley Louis,
-
Let him breathe on me, Let him breathe on me.
-
Let the breath of God now breathe on me. You
-
may feel like a sinner and unworthy. You may a
-
lot of things, but listen. Let him breathe on you
-
today he breathes, hoping to your spirit the first Sunday
-
of Advent. Let him breathe on you. If you've never
-
been filled with the Holy Spirit, God speaking to you,
-
I want you to begin to ask him right now.
-
I want you to just ask him, just asking, Lord,
-
fill me with your Holy Spirit. If you need to
-
be refilled, just asking so Lord, refeel me. Feel me again, Lord,
-
feel me again. Asks for tells us of the disciples.
-
He came back having been baptizing the Holy Spirit. In
-
Acts chapter two. They came up together and they were rebaptized,
-
and the place shaken where they were praying. Oh, God
-
can shake this place and your home and the foundations
-
of iniquity. When you just cry out to Him and
-
praise him. You know what, I'm gonna ask you to
-
just lift your hands all across the congregation, and I
-
might ask you to start praying to the Lord right now.
-
I'm gonna ask you to start praying right now. Pray
-
out loud. He can hear all of us at the
-
same time. He's not nervous, he's certainly knocked deaf praying praying.
-
The Holy ghosts just praying the Holy Spirit right now.
-
Just pray right now, Holley, haa hold on my hear.
-
I'll tell you Handaiah say taya. Oh, I'm not ashamed.
-
I'm not ashamed. I'm not ashamed. I'm filled with the
-
Holy Spirit of God. Come on, Church. I know there's
-
more spirit in this place than what you're leaning on.
-
I know there is. I know there is. Oh hallelujah.
-
Hall Hey, Louia, them two people that that I spoke
-
about earlier, step right out and move to the altar
-
real quick. You know who you are, you knew know
-
who you are. You know God's identifying something in your life.
-
And you're just coming and pouring out your heart before God,
-
saying God, I need you, I need your presence. Oh hallelujah,
-
Oh hallelujah. Oh, come on and praise the Lord. Pray,
-
pray right now, pray right out of your heart, praise Him,
-
begin to praise Him. Oh, we don't have to have
-
a song. We don't have to have a song right now.
-
We want to hear the praises to Jesus. It encourages
-
me to hear you praise the Lord. Oh he cut
-
onto totam I taya cut and dayah, oh hallelujah, Oh hallelujah.
-
Just release the power of the Holy Spirit. He's not
-
trying to get in. He's trying to come out. He's
-
trying to speak through you. There you go, hell helujah,
-
some of you. The Holy Spirit's all over you. What
-
you need to do is release he cut onto the Botiah. Oh,
-
hell loujah, Hell Loah, hell helujah. Oh my God, my God,
-
my God, Oh my God, my God. Oh thank you
-
Lord Jesus. Oh. Praying the Spirit. Praying the Spirit. Pray
-
in the Holy Spirit. Right now. We believe you. We
-
call out to you. We thank you. You give us hope,
-
you give us joy, you give us strength. Lord. We
-
can trust you. We can trust you, Lord, we can
-
trust you. Your helllujah. Oh Hea, tie your hots i,
-
Oh hallelujah, hallelujah, Oh hallelujah, Oh hallelujah. Oh Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
-
You know that several times in the in the Christmas
-
Story says fear not, do not be afraid, do not
-
be afraid. Oh hallelujah. Here cohoa hotel your solandanahkaran dayah,
-
Oh hallelujah. Oh oh, yes, that's right right there where
-
you are. Pray. Just speak out, Oh hellnluljah, Oh my
-
God PROPHESI, oh, hellelujah, thank your Holy Spirit of God.
-
Oh oh oh hallelujah, hallelujah. I praise you Jesus, I
-
praise you Lord. I thank you Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. Oh kay,
-
I talk about sun night. Oh hallelujah. You know, I
-
never told Clay what I was preaching on. And I
-
don't know if you notice. The songs that we sang
-
were about the Holy Spirit of God. The Spirit of God,
-
and the Holy Spirit is not finished. He's not finished
-
with you. Hallelujah, Glory to God, hallelujah. Let me say this.
-
I'm gonna turn it back over to you, Steve, but
-
let me say this. I appreciate my pastor. I appreciate
-
him allow me to preach, but I want to go
-
on record saying I'm pleased what he's doing here. There's
-
never been any rift between us. There's never been any division.
-
We're pretty much on the same page. I mean, we're
-
always on and I appreciate the way he's leading you,
-
and I have confidence that he's leading you right, leading
-
us right high lighting, and I love him and his
-
wife and his family, his father in law, mother in law,
-
some of my dearest friends in the world. Bobby's daddy
-
was one of my dearest friends, Larry. If I don't
-
see Larry once in a while, I got to call
-
him and shake him up. Hey, let's go out and
-
need let's go do something, or let's see each other
-
at church. So I just appreciate these folks, appreciate every
-
one of you. With Terry over here. One time I
-
walked in the funeral home and Terry and his brother
-
was standing down there by the casket. And as a
-
walking in that room, the Holy Spirit spoke and right
-
into my heart, and I walk up to him and
-
I say, hey, guys, the Lord just told me something now.
-
And they're looking at me, like, what the Lord tell you?
-
And I said, the Lord told me that we're going
-
to be connected in some way. Jeremy wasn't even dating
-
Carrie at that time. I had no idea anything I
-
know that didn't that right get to do. And then
-
the next thing, you know, Jeremy and Carry gets together
-
said see the Holy Spirit works still working, always working.
-
Thank you, brother, I love you, I love you.
-
Father We thank you for your mercy and your grace,
-
for who you are and all that we can be.
-
And you.
-
And I pray that you receive our worship and our
-
praise today, that it rises a sweet smelling aroma.
-
Before you or we love you and we thank you,
-
Passion Clay. Let's worship on the way out. I mean, everybody,
-
lift your hands.
-
Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart during
-
this Christmas season. Believe it wants to burst something in
-
you during this time of the year.
-
Let's worship together.
