  1. Amen, quickly go to John chapter four. I'm gonna preach

  2. for let's see twenty one minutes, twenty one minutes. I'm

  3. gonna I'm gonna twenty one minutes.

  4. We're gonna be redd rolling.

  5. Now I'll take that back eighteen minutes. I'm gonna preach

  6. for eighteen minutes. I can't even do the math on

  7. the clock, so I don't know when that is.

  8. Uh.

  9. John chapter four, verse thirteen. It says Jesus answered and

  10. said to her, whoever drinks of this water will thirst again.

  11. But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give

  12. him will never thirst. But the water that I shall

  13. give will become in him a fountain of water, springing

  14. up into everlasting life. The woman said to him, Sir,

  15. give me this water that I may not thirst nor

  16. come here to draw. Let me stop right there for

  17. a moment. Let's pray. Father, We thank you for your word.

  18. It's the only change agent on the face of this planet.

  19. And I pray that today, at the very fabric of

  20. our being, that there is a change.

  21. That we would begin to see the opportunity.

  22. We have as we meet people, and that we would

  23. maximize that opportunity for the kingdom.

  24. Lord, I ask it in Jesus' name. Amen, Amen, and amen.

  25. You know this is uh this is what we call

  26. the story of the Woman at the Well. If you're

  27. not familiar with this story, we have all we have

  28. our own titles for all these stories. And the reality

  29. is is that this woman was standing at that well

  30. not to draw water, but she was she was looking

  31. to make money. She was she was a woman of

  32. the night. She was a prostitute, and and she went

  33. to this well and she was waiting because that's where

  34. all the shepherds would come and draw water and drink,

  35. and that's where she would do business every day. And

  36. Jesus had interrupted the course of his ministry. He was

  37. he was on his way and he stopped and he said, no, listen,

  38. I got to go through some Aaria. You guys, go

  39. to subway, get me a sandwich, and meet me over

  40. at the well and I'll be there. But I got

  41. to go through some Aaria. There's somebody I need to

  42. go talk to. There's somebody in Samaria that I need

  43. to have a conversation with. And Jesus shows up at

  44. the well and this woman is there, and he begins

  45. to have a conversation with her. They begin to talk,

  46. and Jesus didn't come and say, listen, change your ways

  47. or you're going to hell.

  48. Woman, that was at the conversation Jesus.

  49. Had with her, although he had the capability to doom

  50. her there if he chose. But he begins to talk

  51. about life. He begins to talk about the basic need

  52. of water. He talks about the goings and the doings

  53. of everyday life and some area. These were people that

  54. the Jews look down upon. And here is Jesus, a

  55. man talking to a woman at a place where prostitutes dwell,

  56. a Jew talking to a Samaritan. Everything was wrong with

  57. this picture. Nothing was culturally appropriate about what was happening.

  58. But Jesus defied all those things. He took time out

  59. of He's the Let me tell you, Jesus was the

  60. son of the living God. I would imagine he had

  61. a few things on his agenda. Amen, But he took

  62. time out of his day to stop and have a

  63. conversation with somebody.

  64. And as he began to talk to this woman, she says.

  65. Something in the midst of this conversation that I think

  66. we missed just when we read it. She says something

  67. that when I saw it in the reality of what

  68. she was saying, broke my heart, and I'm sure it

  69. broke the heart of the Lord.

  70. To she said. The woman said, to sir, give me

  71. this water. She says, said, listen, this water. You're gonna

  72. drink it. You're gonna get thirsty again.

  73. But I have water. You're never gonna thirst again. It's

  74. gonna it's it's gonna satisfy every need you have if

  75. you drink the living water that I'm talking about. She said, Sir,

  76. give me this water that I may not thirst.

  77. Nor come here to draw, she says.

  78. Do something in me that allows me to no longer

  79. come here to do what I came here to do.

  80. Help me be different than I am.

  81. Meet me at my point of need, in the midst

  82. of my brokenness, and so change me in my brokenness

  83. that I don't need to do what I do because

  84. what I do I know is wrong. Do you realize

  85. that the majority of people that live outside of the faith,

  86. that have not yet had a grace collision with Jesus,

  87. they still know that there's something fundamentally wrong.

  88. With the way they live and what they do. They

  89. may not be able to put their finger on it.

  90. But that uneasiness, that that lack of peace that they

  91. see other people, and they think, if I could only

  92. experience peace in life like they do, that I don't

  93. have to self medicate myself, and I don't have to

  94. go and do and I don't have to run, and

  95. I don't have to worry, and I don't have to stress,

  96. and I don't have to and Jesus says, come and drink.

  97. But the reality is the only way.

  98. People find that that that moment of connection is if we're.

  99. Going out of our way to meet them at a well.

  100. Yeah, y'all miss that somebody would have said, amen, I mean,

  101. I'm the only way that happens if someone goes and

  102. meets them at a well. If we stretch ourselves and

  103. we see the people that nobody else wants to be around.

  104. Y'all know who I'm talking about. You all know the

  105. people that are unlovable.

  106. If you don't know them, you may be them.

  107. That shouldn't be a revelation to everybody.

  108. We all know those people that everybody avoids.

  109. That that that person at work that you know when

  110. they walk up to the water cooler, even the gossip stops.

  111. Jesus is sending us to the unlovable. You know, I

  112. don't want you to take offense when I say these things,

  113. but you know, the reality is is I understand that God.

  114. Called me to hurting broken people.

  115. Now, that's just who God has always called me for

  116. equipped me to to reach that. That's who God has

  117. has created me to be. And when I look around,

  118. God has created our on island of misfit toys. Amen,

  119. we're all just a little bit of this and a

  120. little bit of that, but not a whole lot of anything.

  121. We're just ordinary people that have struggled and we have

  122. found the grace of Jesus. And then we've struggled and

  123. we found the grace of Jesus again. And then we

  124. struggled and we found the grace.

  125. Of Jesus again.

  126. And He's always met us at our point of need,

  127. and he's never let us down. He's always been there

  128. right on time. And as a result of that, we

  129. owe it to him to go and help other people

  130. through the same things he's helped us through. Jesus said

  131. to her, go call your husband and come here. In

  132. the woman's answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus

  133. said to her, you've well said I have no husband,

  134. for you've had five husbands and the one you shacked

  135. up with now ain't your husband. Listen, Listen, he learned

  136. he learned the art of communication because he looked at

  137. her and said, after he just read or mail.

  138. He looked at her and said, in this you have

  139. truly spoken. You got all that wrong, but hey, you

  140. got the other part right.

  141. Do you realize that that friendship and communication is both

  142. about saying hard things and good things. It's about accountability

  143. and encouragement. It's about a perfect mixture of those things.

  144. And if you're that friend that always puts someone down,

  145. you're not much of a friend. It's okay, even when

  146. someone is living a dysfunctional life for you to look

  147. and find something that they do well and talk about

  148. what they do well. You know, my my, my ain't i.

  149. Her name was Idia's. I don't know how we came

  150. up with ain't i, but that's just all that. That's

  151. her name, ain't I? And she always said good things

  152. about people. Now, my great grandma was the meanest woman

  153. that ever lived. They lived next door to each other,

  154. and my me mom would start talking about somebody in ain't.

  155. I would always point out something good. There's a guy

  156. that lived on down the road and he was a

  157. pretty mean fella. I mean he he cussed me so

  158. many I mean I was on his property when he

  159. cussed me, but he cussed me so many times. And

  160. he was just a mean spirited fella. And he passed away,

  161. and my me Moa was like, I'm just so glad

  162. he died. He wanted nothing but a blight on the

  163. face of the earth. He was this, he was that,

  164. and I mean she just was ranting and rating. Then

  165. my uncle got involved. He was saying things and he

  166. was like, oh, yeah.

  167. I can't believe that. I can't, but he did this.

  168. I can't, but he did that. He was just good

  169. for nothing.

  170. And I spoke up and she said, yeah, but he

  171. sure could whistle. You know, when you meet the woman

  172. at the well, when you come into contact with We've

  173. talked for three weeks about intentionally building relationships with people

  174. for the purpose of leading them to Jesus. And when

  175. you're in the process of building that relationship, the person

  176. probably already realizes there's something not right, that there's something

  177. missing and broken, and there's heard and there's pain, and

  178. there's guilt and there shame. It's okay that in the

  179. midst of that thissfunction that you dig deep, because a

  180. word of encouragement can often go further than a word

  181. of condemnation. That when we examine the situation of people's lives,

  182. Jesus sees the good and the bad in every single

  183. one of us, and he calls us towards the good

  184. every time. Now, Jesus he tells this woman that he says, hey, listen,

  185. I know your situation. I realize that. And do you

  186. realize that that's a spiritual gift. Jesus operated in a

  187. spiritual gift, and you have that spiritual gift as well.

  188. It's called word of knowledge.

  189. Jesus knew something about her that he didn't have the ability,

  190. based on situation, to know.

  191. And you have that same gift as well.

  192. When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, the gifts

  193. of the Spirit move into your life and endwell your body,

  194. and you have access to those gifts. And it is

  195. a tool belt used not for magic tricks and an

  196. altar in a Pentecostal church, but for encounters with lost

  197. people in a real world that are hurt and broken.

  198. We need to use the tools where Jesus intended them

  199. to be used.

  200. If the only place we use the tools are in

  201. the altar, the world is never exposed to the very

  202. thing that he said would be a sign to the unbeliever.

  203. And it's that that awakened her.

  204. Jesus' willingness and ability to flow into supernaturalist what awakened

  205. her and quickened her to do what's next in verse

  206. thirty nine. And many Samaritans of that city believed in

  207. him because of the word the woman who testified.

  208. He told me all that I ever did.

  209. He told me everything that I ever did, but he

  210. never told me how terrible I was. He told me

  211. everything that I ever did, but he encouraged me. He

  212. told me everything that I ever did. But he still

  213. came to Samaria, and he still stopped at the well,

  214. and he still had a conversation, and he didn't care

  215. what anybody else said about it, because it was his

  216. purpose on earth. Every single one of us share this

  217. purpose for those of you who are looking for purpose,

  218. and that's that's what we do here.

  219. We do four things.

  220. We experience God walking, freedom, find our place so we

  221. can live with purpose.

  222. I'm just I'm gonna give every single.

  223. Person purpose today, because there is a purpose that's unique

  224. to every one of us, and that is sharing our

  225. faith and telling our story so that other people can

  226. have the same kind of grace collision with Jesus that

  227. we had.

  228. If you don't know what God wants you to do,

  229. if you.

  230. Don't know your purpose, start right there with the common

  231. purpose for the kingdom, and that is to win other

  232. people to the Kingdom of God. We start right there

  233. in that place. She said, Lizen, he told he told,

  234. He told me everything.

  235. That I ever did.

  236. You know the significance there is, he told her. He

  237. didn't tell everybody else. He told her everything she did.

  238. He didn't tell the crowd that gathered everything she did.

  239. Stop.

  240. So when the Samaritas had come to him, they urged

  241. him to stay with him, and he stayed there two days,

  242. and many more believe because of his word. Then they

  243. said to the woman, now we believe not because of

  244. what you said, for we ourselves have heard him and

  245. we know that this is indeed the Christ, the savior

  246. of the world.

  247. He said, here's the here's the deal.

  248. These people were gathered because of what happened to you.

  249. But because of what happened to you, they saw Jesus,

  250. and Jesus is the uplifting saving agent on the face

  251. of the planet. I want to set you free from

  252. something right now. You don't have to talk to anybody

  253. into getting saved. You don't have to convince anybody that

  254. they need to be saved.

  255. You don't need to.

  256. You don't need to protect Jesus' reputation. You don't need

  257. to defend Jesus. You don't need to do any of

  258. those things. He does all of those things on his

  259. own for his self.

  260. All you need to do is show love and speak truth.

  261. For you to be.

  262. The ambassador of Christ that he's calling you to be.

  263. You need to love and speak truth. Love and speak truth.

  264. Love and speak truth. Just in case you didn't get it,

  265. Love and speak truth. And when you do that, God

  266. will revolutionize your walk with Him, and the people around

  267. you will have an encounter with him. You know, it's

  268. possible that you're here today and you don't know Jesus

  269. as your personal savior. You don't have the assurance.

  270. Of knowing that you would go to heaven. But I

  271. want to tell you that even before you've ever come

  272. to him. He has a plan for your life.

  273. There is value in who you. I don't care what

  274. anybody told you this week. There is value and who

  275. you are. I don't care where you've been and what

  276. you've done. The Lord has been waiting on you this

  277. morning because he loves you, and he gave his life

  278. for you so that you could experience peace, enjoy fulfillment,

  279. and satisfaction like you've never experienced in your whole life.

  280. So if you would, everybody buy your heads for me

  281. just a moment, close your eyes. If you're here today

  282. and you don't know, if you die, that you would

  283. go to heaven. You've never asked Jesus to to forgive

  284. you of your sins, but today you want to do that.

  285. Slip up your head and say that's me, pastor. I

  286. want to meet Jesus. Amen, I see that hand. There's

  287. somebody else, Amen, I see that hand, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

  288. One last calm. Just put your hand up and put

  289. it right back down.

  290. Fast.

  291. You and you want to you want to turn your

  292. life over to Christ today. Amen, Amen, I see that

  293. end now, every eye open, every head looking around. As

  294. matter of fact, everybody stand to your feet. Here's what

  295. the Bible says. The Bible says that if you confess

  296. him before men, he'll confess you before his father in heaven.

  297. If you deny him before men, he'll deny you before

  298. his father in heaven. Raising your hand was the first step.

  299. But we believe that you need to make a public

  300. profession of your faith. So I'm gonna ask our altered.

  301. Team to come. Now listen, do not let fear rob

  302. you of this encounter.

  303. It is the greatest decision you'll ever make in your life.

  304. But if you raised your hand, if you said that's me,

  305. I want to give my life to Jesus. I'm gonna

  306. ask you, on the count of three to step out

  307. from where you are and make your way to the front.

  308. Just whoever you think is the nicest or coolest, or

  309. prettiest or ugliest or whatever you get to chewse just

  310. go to the person that you that you identify with

  311. the most, and they're gonna pray with you. Now, let

  312. me explain what's gonna happen. The moment you open your

  313. mouth and you begin to pray, the Lord is going

  314. to wipe away your sin.

  315. And he's gonna make you a brand new creation and

  316. a miracle.

  317. It's gonna take place, and from that moment on you

  318. will be on your way towards Heaven.

  319. Set against Hell.

  320. Yeah, happens by stepping out and making that that decision

  321. of faith. So on the count of three, if you

  322. raise your hand, I want you to step out, and

  323. I want you to come one, two, three.

  324. Step out and come right now.

  325. Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on,

  326. come on, come on, come on, come on, come on,

  327. come on.

  328. Amen. Amen.

  329. Maybe you're here and you didn't raise your hand, but

  330. now you've decided maybe that you should have. If that's you,

  331. I want you to come. If now you've decided, hey,

  332. I should have raised my hand. The hand raising is okay,

  333. you can skip the hand raising. You could just do

  334. the coming down part. These the halters open. The band

  335. is gonna sing and listen, everybody, hang with me for

  336. just mon because we're gonna finish the day up with communion.

  337. The band is gonna worship and three souls coming into

  338. the family of God, Glafory to God. Pastor Clay
