  1. You may remember me mentioning feast days. Next Sunday is a feast day. It's the Feast of Pentecost.

  2. And the week after that is Trinity Sunday. This past Thursday was a feast day.

  3. You might have guessed from our liturgy so far, it was the Feast of the Ascension.

  4. The Feast of the Ascension, 40 days after Jesus rose from the dead,

  5. and having appeared to his disciples and to many witnesses,

  6. he ascended into heaven, as we heard from the book of Luke and the book of Acts.

  7. Many churches don't have a special service on that Thursday.

  8. So like ourselves, we recognize that event, that historical event here the Sunday after.

  9. So this is what I'll be doing tonight, talking about the Ascension, what it is,

  10. how is it about love, and how does it benefit us?

  11. What is the Ascension, how is it about love, and how does it benefit us?

  12. So as we look at the Ascension of Jesus Christ, let's pray to him.

  13. King Jesus, we are here to honor you, and we ask that as you promise to send your Holy Spirit,

  14. that you would have him at work among us, glorifying yourself.

  15. Help us to catch a vision of who you really are,

  16. that we might worship you as your disciples did.

  17. We pray in Jesus' name, amen.

  18. Okay, so what happened at the Ascension?

  19. As we heard in Acts chapter 1, Jesus said to his disciples,

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  20. It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father is fixed by his own authority,

  21. but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,

  22. and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

  23. And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up,

  24. and a cloud took him out of their sight.

  25. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went,

  26. behold, two men stood by them in white robes,

  27. and said,

  28. Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven?

  29. This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven,

  30. he will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.

  31. Now, when I was young, I've heard about the Ascension all my life,

  32. and I had imagined something like spaceflight for Jesus,

  33. or something like Neo from the Matrix,

  34. just zooming up way into the high sky,

  35. and just disappearing into the clouds,

  36. probably with a burst of light, too.

  37. But the text says that he was lifted up,

  38. and a cloud took him out of their sight.

  39. So I would imagine that he actually wasn't elevated too far.

  40. Albrecht Durer has a great woodprint,

  41. of the Ascension.

  42. You see his disciples looking up in awe,

  43. and just above them, you see Jesus' feet,

  44. and nothing else.

  45. He was probably, I think, that close.

  46. He never got too far, nor does he stay far.

  47. And I think that's the point of Durer's woodcut.

  48. After two angels appear and ask,

  49. Why do you stand looking into heaven?

  50. So what's going on here in this passage?

  51. Let's talk about the biblical conceptions of heaven and earth.

  52. And we're not to think of heaven and earth as two separate realms

  53. occupying their own separate spaces,

  54. like two halves of the same orange.

  55. Rather, we understand heaven and earth as interlocking dimensions.

  56. Heaven being God's space,

  57. and the earth or the physical universe or space time as being our space.

  58. God's space interpenetrates our own

  59. so that you could think of heaven as being the solid, concrete inner reality.

  60. Heaven is not a different place than our own dimension,

  61. up there, the happy place where people go after they die.

  62. Now, when we read about a singular cloud

  63. taking Jesus out of the sight of the disciples,

  64. you might remember from the Old Testament

  65. the significance of a cloud.

  66. A cloud shows us, it manifests

  67. the special presence or glory of God.

  68. The presence of God.

  69. For instance, when a pillar of cloud

  70. led the Israelites out of Egypt,

  71. out of slavery,

  72. or perhaps several times in the Old Testament

  73. when a cloud or smoke

  74. enveloped or filled the temple,

  75. displaying a special manifestation

  76. of the presence of the Lord.

  77. What Luke is saying is this.

  78. Jesus, in his physical resurrected body,

  79. has passed into God's dimension.

  80. A dimension now where Jesus is everywhere present.

  81. Jesus, not the temple in Jerusalem as was believed,

  82. it's Jesus that is the place

  83. where the two dimensions of heaven and earth meet,

  84. where they join, where they intersect.

  85. And just as Jesus ascended into heaven

  86. 40 days after his resurrection,

  87. so too will he one day descend.

  88. And on that day, which is called the second coming,

  89. the two dimensions will be brought together

  90. and united.

  91. The ascension is a promise

  92. that we will one day inhabit a new heavens

  93. and a new earth,

  94. just as we pray every week,

  95. thy kingdom come,

  96. thy will be done on earth

  97. as it is in heaven.

  98. There's something else.

  99. This is pretty great.

  100. There's something else about this passage.

  101. Now, Romans believed,

  102. or those in the Roman Empire believed,

  103. that upon his death,

  104. a Roman emperor's soul

  105. would escape his body

  106. and ascend to heaven.

  107. It's called an apotheosis.

  108. And you can go to Rome

  109. and see on the Titian Arch,

  110. the Arch of Titus,

  111. like right in the middle underneath,

  112. there is an image of Titus

  113. ascending to heaven.

  114. This is to demonstrate,

  115. to depict a Roman emperor becoming a god.

  116. And what Jesus does in the ascension

  117. is he one-ups the emperors.

  118. The ascension proclaims

  119. that Jesus is the true king.

  120. He not just ascends spiritually

  121. as a ghost,

  122. he ascends body and soul

  123. fully into heaven.

  124. The ascension proclaims

  125. that Jesus is the true king

  126. and the Roman emperors

  127. are just parodies.

  128. Upon his ascension,

  129. Jesus ascends

  130. to his throne.

  131. It's a demonstration

  132. of God's exaltation

  133. to the throne of the universe.

  134. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 20,

    Ephesians 1:20

  135. as we heard earlier.

  136. God raised him from the dead

  137. and seated him at his right hand

  138. in the heavenly places,

  139. far above all rule

  140. and authority

  141. and power

  142. and dominion

  143. and above every name

  144. that is named,

  145. not only in this age,

  146. but also in the one to come.

  147. So that's the ascension.

  148. But it's not just

  149. a large cosmic idea.

  150. It's also very personal

  151. and intimate.

  152. The ascension

  153. is about love.

  154. It's about love.

  155. It fits into

  156. the entire story

  157. of the Bible.

  158. God's love

  159. for his people.

  160. God's love

  161. for you.

  162. You see,

  163. the Bible

  164. from the beginning

  165. to the end

  166. tells a story

  167. of marriage.

  168. There's a wedding

  169. in the book of Genesis

  170. in the very first

  171. two chapters.

  172. Throughout the Bible,

  173. we see God

  174. describing his relationship

  175. to his people

  176. as that of a husband

  177. to his bride.

  178. And that love

  179. is embodied

  180. when Jesus,

  181. the word,

  182. is made flesh.

  183. When he is born

  184. in Bethlehem.

  185. Jesus began

  186. his ministry

  187. at a wedding.

  188. His first miracles

  189. were performed

  190. at a wedding

  191. in Cana.

  192. And the whole story

  193. concludes

  194. with a heavenly marriage.

  195. I should have been

  196. going this way, right?

  197. With a heavenly marriage.

  198. in paradise

  199. between Jesus

  200. and his people.

  201. You see,

  202. the story of the Bible

  203. is God wants

  204. to marry us.

  205. He wants to marry us.

  206. It's printed

  207. almost on every page

  208. of the Bible.

  209. Now,

  210. in a Hebrew wedding,

  211. we find

  212. different customs

  213. than we have

  214. in our modern day wedding.

  215. How does a Hebrew wedding work?

  216. Well,

  217. after a betrothal

  218. in which

  219. a price is paid

  220. for a bride,

  221. the groom

  222. would go away.

  223. He would leave.

  224. And he would

  225. build onto

  226. his father's house

  227. another room.

  228. A room for himself

  229. and his bride.

  230. And at a later time,

  231. determined by the father,

  232. the groom would come back

  233. to fetch the bride.

  234. There would be a wedding.

  235. And the wedding

  236. would be consummated.

  237. Well,

  238. the night before Jesus dies,

  239. he tells his disciples

  240. in John chapter 14,

    John 14 chapter mention

  241. in my father's house

  242. are many rooms.

  243. If it were not so,

  244. would I have told you

  245. that I go to prepare

  246. a place for you?

  247. And if I go

  248. and prepare a place

  249. for you,

  250. I will come again

  251. and will take you

  252. to myself

  253. that where I am,

  254. you may also be.

  255. That's a wedding language.

  256. Jesus is using

  257. a language we find

  258. all throughout Scripture.

  259. The ascension

  260. demonstrates

  261. that Jesus

  262. is betrothed

  263. to us

  264. and as the angels

  265. said,

  266. he's going to come back

  267. just the way he left.

  268. He's going to fetch his bride

  269. and there's going to be

  270. a wedding.

  271. So the ascension

  272. is about love.

  273. And if it's about love,

  274. how does that love

  275. that is demonstrated

  276. in the ascension

  277. benefit us?

  278. So we,

  279. every week,

  280. we recite the Nicene Creed.

  281. There's also another creed

  282. that we recite

  283. in our daily prayers

  284. called the Apostles' Creed.

  285. And at various times,

  286. the church wisely

  287. has produced a tool

  288. called a catechism,

  289. which is a question

  290. and answer way

  291. of teaching the truths

  292. of the Christian faith,

  293. particularly in the creeds.

  294. And my favorite one,

  295. is that weird

  296. that I have a favorite catechism?

  297. Yes,

  298. but I have one.

  299. It's the Heidelberg Catechism.

  300. And there is the question

  301. of what advantage to us

  302. is Christ's ascension

  303. into heaven?

  304. And the catechism

  305. gives us three answers.

  306. First,

  307. that he is our advocate

  308. in the presence

  309. of his Father in heaven.

  310. Second,

  311. that we have our flesh

  312. in heaven

  313. as a sure pledge

  314. that he,

  315. as the head,

  316. will also take us

  317. up to himself.

  318. Third,

  319. that he sends us

  320. his spirit

  321. as an earnest

  322. by whose power

  323. we seek the things

  324. which are above,

  325. where Christ sits

  326. on the right hand of God

  327. and not things on earth.

  328. Let's work backwards.

  329. We're going to start

  330. with the third one,

  331. is that he sends us

  332. his spirit

  333. as an earnest.

  334. Next week,

  335. we're going to hear

  336. what is essentially

  337. part two

  338. of this sermon

  339. about how

  340. Jesus

  341. sends the Holy Spirit

  342. upon the church

  343. on the day

  344. of Pentecost.

  345. And the spirit

  346. indwells

  347. and empowers

  348. God's church

  349. to go out

  350. into the world

  351. to serve him

  352. and to proclaim

  353. the good news

  354. of the gospel.

  355. But for now,

  356. let's consider

  357. that as Jesus

  358. prepared his disciples

  359. for his departure,

  360. he promised them

  361. that he wasn't

  362. abandoning them.

  363. Right?

  364. If this whole thing

  365. is about intimacy,

  366. it doesn't make

  367. much sense

  368. to leave.

  369. But it's quite

  370. the opposite.

  371. They would experience,

  372. his disciples

  373. would experience,

  374. and we would experience

  375. an intimacy

  376. with God

  377. that had not

  378. yet been possible.

  379. He says

  380. in John chapter 16,

    John 16 chapter mention

  381. it is to your

  382. advantage

  383. that I go away.

  384. For if I do not

  385. go away,

  386. the helper

  387. will not come to you.

  388. But if I go,

  389. I will send him

  390. to you.

  391. God

  392. will not come to you.

  393. Our souls

  394. were made

  395. for connection

  396. with God.

  397. He wired us

  398. to feel

  399. at home

  400. in his presence

  401. like we were

  402. in the Garden of Eden.

  403. God made humanity

  404. to experience

  405. deep intimacy

  406. with himself.

  407. The love

  408. and intimacy

  409. of God

  410. was to be

  411. the ocean

  412. in which humanity

  413. swam.

  414. But when Adam

  415. and Eve fell,

  416. mankind was like

  417. a fish

  418. that was scooped

  419. out of the water

  420. and dropped

  421. into the middle

  422. of the forest.

  423. Gary Moon writes,

  424. ever since the fall,

  425. every human heart

  426. has experienced

  427. a longing

  428. to go home,

  429. to live

  430. in love

  431. with God

  432. and one another.

  433. Jesus knew that.

  434. he came to earth

  435. with the wonderful news

  436. that God invites us

  437. to come home.

  438. He has opened

  439. wide

  440. the gate

  441. to Eden.

  442. He's banished

  443. the guards,

  444. freshly manicured

  445. the grounds,

  446. kicked out

  447. the snakes.

  448. The ascension

  449. heals

  450. the schism

  451. that occurred

  452. at the fall.

  453. The ascension

  454. makes intimacy

  455. possible.

  456. In the garden,

  457. we are to be

  458. continually

  459. in his presence

  460. and now

  461. after the ascension

  462. when Jesus

  463. sends his spirit,

  464. the presence

  465. of God

  466. now resides

  467. in each

  468. of God's

  469. children

  470. and each

  471. of us

  472. are now

  473. at home

  474. with God

  475. in his presence.

  476. Looking backwards,

  477. we looked at

  478. how at the ascension

  479. Jesus sends

  480. his spirit.

  481. Second,

  482. we have

  483. our flesh

  484. in heaven

  485. as a sure

  486. pledge

  487. that he

  488. as the head

  489. will also

  490. take up

  491. to himself,

  492. us,

  493. his members.

  494. Strange

  495. kind of

  496. wording

  497. and language.

  498. Basically,

  499. it means

  500. we're united

  501. to Christ.

  502. We've been

  503. talking about

  504. marriage.

  505. We're in

  506. union with

  507. him.

  508. So where

  509. he is,

  510. he is also.

  511. What benefits

  512. he has

  513. accrued,

  514. we accrue

  515. as well.

  516. As we heard

  517. in Ephesians

    Ephesians 1:20

  518. chapter 1

  519. verse 20,

  520. that God

  521. raised him

  522. from the dead

  523. and seated

  524. him

  525. at his

  526. right hand

  527. in the

  528. heavenly places.

  529. So just

  530. a few verses

  531. later in

  532. chapter 2

  533. verse 6,

  534. Paul writes

  535. and raised

  536. us up

  537. with him.

  538. God raised

  539. us up

  540. with Jesus

  541. and seated

  542. us with him

  543. in the heavenly

  544. places.

  545. He uses a

  546. perfect tense,

  547. a completed

  548. verb.

  549. That's how

  550. sure

  551. our place

  552. is in

  553. heaven

  554. with God

  555. in the

  556. afterlife.

  557. there's a

  558. hymn

  559. that I

  560. really like.

  561. My name

  562. from the

  563. palms of

  564. his hands

  565. eternity

  566. will not

  567. erase.

  568. Impressed

  569. on his

  570. heart,

  571. it remains

  572. in marks

  573. of indelible

  574. grace.

  575. Yes,

  576. I to the

  577. end shall

  578. endure

  579. as sure

  580. as the

  581. earnest

  582. is given.

  583. More

  584. happy,

  585. but not

  586. more secure,

  587. the glorified

  588. spirits

  589. in heaven.

  590. That's

  591. kind of

  592. a word

  593. salad

  594. of those

  595. last two

  596. lines,

  597. basically.

  598. It means

  599. that those

  600. souls that

  601. are already

  602. in the

  603. presence of

  604. the Father,

  605. qualitatively,

  606. yes,

  607. no one's

  608. going to

  609. deny they're

  610. happier than

  611. we are

  612. because they're

  613. with the

  614. Father in

  615. a way that

  616. we're not.

  617. However,

  618. their place

  619. in heaven

  620. is not

  621. more secure

  622. than ours.

  623. Isn't that

  624. amazing?

  625. Their place

  626. in heaven

  627. isn't more

  628. secure than

  629. ours because

  630. Jesus is

  631. there and

  632. we're

  633. united to

  634. him.

  635. That's

  636. how secure

  637. our place

  638. is with

  639. the Father.

  640. Hear how

  641. we are

  642. described in

  643. Ephesians

    Ephesians 1:18

  644. chapter 1

  645. verse 18.

  646. May God

  647. give you the

  648. spirit of

  649. wisdom and

  650. of revelation

  651. in the

  652. knowledge of

  653. him that

  654. you may

  655. know what

  656. is the

  657. hope to

  658. which he

  659. has called

  660. you.

  661. What are

  662. the riches

  663. of his

  664. glorious

  665. inheritance in

  666. the saints?

  667. That's

  668. up there?

  669. One more

  670. verse.

  671. There we

  672. go.

  673. This is

  674. very difficult

  675. to translate

  676. for translators.

  677. And even

  678. when they

  679. translate it

  680. correctly,

  681. it's still

  682. hard to

  683. exactly get

  684. what Paul's

  685. writing.

  686. But what

  687. he is not

  688. saying is

  689. that in

  690. this case,

  691. we are to

  692. receive an

  693. inheritance,

  694. even though

  695. this is

  696. true.

  697. We read it

  698. all the time

  699. in the

  700. New Testament.

  701. the inheritance

  702. belongs to

  703. God and

  704. we are the

  705. inheritance.

  706. God has

  707. prepared us

  708. as his

  709. own

  710. inheritance,

  711. as his

  712. own

  713. riches,

  714. and God

  715. is not

  716. going to

  717. give that

  718. up.

  719. That's how

  720. precious we

  721. are.

  722. That's how

  723. precious we

  724. are.

  725. He's going

  726. to secure

  727. us,

  728. and he's

  729. done that

  730. by having

  731. his son

  732. ascend to

  733. his right

  734. hand and

  735. in union

  736. with him.

  737. Now we

  738. are ascended.

  739. We are

  740. seated with

  741. Christ in

  742. the heavenly

  743. places.

  744. So that's

  745. second.

  746. Lastly,

  747. what benefit

  748. is us

  749. of the

  750. ascension,

  751. it's that

  752. we have

  753. an advocate

  754. in the

  755. presence of

  756. the Father.

  757. We have

  758. an advocate.

  759. Romans 8

  760. 34 says,

  761. Christ Jesus

  762. is the one

  763. who died,

  764. more than

  765. that,

  766. who was

  767. raised,

  768. who is

  769. at the

  770. right hand

  771. of God,

  772. who indeed

  773. is interceding

  774. for us.

  775. what does

  776. that mean

  777. that he's

  778. interceding

  779. for us?

  780. I think

  781. it means

  782. two things.

  783. The first

  784. is that

  785. we don't

  786. have to

  787. fear

  788. that we

  789. are not

  790. enough.

  791. We don't

  792. have to

  793. worry

  794. or fear

  795. that we

  796. are not

  797. enough.

  798. I think

  799. a lot

  800. of us

  801. have that

  802. concern.

  803. A lot

  804. of us

  805. are

  806. preoccupied

  807. that we

  808. might not

  809. be

  810. enough,

  811. talented

  812. enough,

  813. musically

  814. talented

  815. enough,

  816. that's

  817. my own,

  818. clever

  819. enough,

  820. handsome

  821. or beautiful

  822. enough,

  823. successful

  824. enough,

  825. charismatic

  826. enough.

  827. We're

  828. always

  829. worried,

  830. what do

  831. people think

  832. of me?

  833. What does

  834. the Father

  835. think of

  836. me?

  837. You know

  838. who

  839. experiences

  840. this

  841. most

  842. poignantly?

  843. It's

  844. mothers.

  845. Mothers

  846. are always

  847. fearing

  848. that they're

  849. not

  850. enough,

  851. that they're

  852. not loving

  853. enough,

  854. nurturing

  855. enough,

  856. present

  857. enough,

  858. patient

  859. enough.

  860. Most

  861. mothers,

  862. I think,

  863. would just

  864. love to

  865. not completely

  866. screw up

  867. their kids.

  868. That's a

  869. win.

  870. Mothers

  871. feel like

  872. they're not

  873. enough.

  874. But in

  875. the gospel,

  876. the ascended

  877. Christ says

  878. to the

  879. Father,

  880. I am

  881. enough.

  882. I am

  883. enough.

  884. My

  885. obedience

  886. was enough.

  887. My

  888. righteousness

  889. is enough.

  890. Look on

  891. my wounds.

  892. That's

  893. enough.

  894. I have

  895. taken all

  896. the punishment

  897. that my

  898. people

  899. deserve.

  900. I am

  901. enough.

  902. When

  903. Satan

  904. tempts

  905. me

  906. to

  907. despair,

  908. tells

  909. me

  910. of

  911. the

  912. guilt

  913. within,

  914. upward,

  915. I look

  916. and see

  917. him

  918. there who

  919. made an

  920. end to

  921. all my

  922. sin.

  923. Because

  924. the

  925. sinless

  926. savior

  927. died,

  928. my

  929. sinful

  930. soul

  931. is

  932. counted

  933. free.

  934. For

  935. God,

  936. the

  937. just,

  938. is

  939. satisfied

  940. to look

  941. on

  942. him

  943. and

  944. pardon

  945. me.

  946. Because

  947. Christ

  948. is

  949. enough.

  950. I

  951. am

  952. enough.

  953. I

  954. never

  955. lack

  956. for

  957. anything.

  958. If

  959. Christ

  960. is

  961. enough,

  962. which

  963. makes

  964. ourselves

  965. enough,

  966. then we

  967. run the

  968. danger of,

  969. if we're

  970. not

  971. grasping

  972. that,

  973. then we

  974. run the

  975. danger of

  976. this

  977. constant

  978. doing,

  979. of trying

  980. to be

  981. enough,

  982. of trying

  983. to earn

  984. God's

  985. attention,

  986. earn

  987. his favor.

  988. It's

  989. dangerous

  990. for

  991. our

  992. souls.

  993. The

  994. hymn writer

  995. James

  996. Proctor

  997. wrote,

  998. weary,

  999. working,

  1000. burdened

  1001. one,

  1002. why do

  1003. you toil

  1004. so?

  1005. Cease

  1006. your

  1007. doing.

  1008. All

  1009. was

  1010. done

  1011. long,

  1012. long

  1013. ago.

  1014. Cast

  1015. your

  1016. deadly

  1017. doing

  1018. down,

  1019. down

  1020. at

  1021. Jesus'

  1022. feet.

  1023. Stand

  1024. in

  1025. him,

  1026. in

  1027. him

  1028. alone,

  1029. gloriously

  1030. complete.

  1031. The

  1032. ascended

  1033. Christ,

  1034. stands

  1035. at the

  1036. right

  1037. hand

  1038. of

  1039. the

  1040. father.

  1041. We

  1042. stand

  1043. in

  1044. him.

  1045. He

  1046. is our

  1047. advocate

  1048. in the

  1049. presence

  1050. of his

  1051. father.

  1052. He

  1053. is

  1054. assured

  1055. our

  1056. place

  1057. in

  1058. the

  1059. presence

  1060. of

  1061. the

  1062. father

  1063. forever

  1064. and

  1065. he

  1066. sends

  1067. us

  1068. his

  1069. holy

  1070. spirit

  1071. so

  1072. that

  1073. we

  1074. are

  1075. always

  1076. at

  1077. home

  1078. in

  1079. the

  1080. presence

  1081. of

  1082. God

  1083. all

  1084. because

  1085. of

  1086. love.

  1087. The

  1088. ascension

  1089. is

  1090. about

  1091. love.

  1092. Let's

  1093. pray.

  1094. Father,

  1095. just as

  1096. the

  1097. disciples

  1098. caught a

  1099. glimpse

  1100. of

  1101. glory

  1102. and

  1103. majesty

  1104. and

  1105. were

  1106. left

  1107. in

  1108. awe

  1109. so

  1110. would

  1111. you

  1112. strike

  1113. us

  1114. with

  1115. awe

  1116. and

  1117. wonder.

  1118. would

  1119. we

  1120. be

  1121. in

  1122. awe

  1123. of

  1124. your

  1125. son

  1126. of

  1127. his

  1128. humility

  1129. of

  1130. his

  1131. suffering

  1132. of

  1133. his

  1134. death

  1135. and

  1136. because

  1137. of

  1138. all

  1139. of

  1140. that

  1141. therefore

  1142. you

  1143. have

  1144. exalted

  1145. him

  1146. to the

  1147. highest

  1148. place

  1149. that

  1150. at

  1151. the

  1152. name

  1153. of

  1154. your

  1155. son

  1156. Jesus

  1157. every

  1158. knee

  1159. should

  1160. bow

  1161. in

  1162. heaven

  1163. and

  1164. on

  1165. earth

  1166. and

  1167. under

  1168. the

  1169. earth

  1170. and

  1171. every

  1172. tongue

  1173. confess

  1174. that

  1175. your

  1176. son

  1177. Jesus

  1178. Christ

  1179. is

  1180. Lord

  1181. to

  1182. the

  1183. glory

  1184. of

  1185. your

  1186. name

  1187. father

  1188. help us

  1189. now to

  1190. proclaim

  1191. his

  1192. glory

  1193. fill us

  1194. with

  1195. wonder

  1196. we

  1197. pray

  1198. in

  1199. Jesus

  1200. name

  1201. the

  1202. risen

  1203. and

  1204. ascended

  1205. savior

  1206. amen

  1207. amen
