  1. Woo! Give God some glory, huh?

  2. >> Come on.

  3. Praise God. It's wonderful to be here,

  4. to be here with all of you. And uh I'll

  5. tell you, it's been great being at this

  6. church. The administration has been

  7. great.

  8. praise and worship.

  9. I don't know about you, but I've gone to

  10. heaven a couple times

  11. and uh it's just been just been awesome.

  12. And you know,

  13. I go to a lot of places

  14. and I get with a lot of people, they

  15. love to preach,

  16. they love to teach, but I always ask

  17. them, "Well, but how do you feel about

  18. the people?"

  19. Hello.

  20. And you're blessed because you have

  21. shepherds that love sheep.

  22. Hello.

  23. And they're a dynamic team.

  24. It's an it's it's so balanced because

  25. it's an apostolic prophetic team. And

  26. it's just wonderful to be part of all of

  27. that. And uh you can see me playing

  28. around here. Technically, I'm not real

  29. good at this stuff. Uh,

  30. it's a I'm a whole other generation. I'm

  31. just learning how to work on iPhone.

  32. But, uh, when I when I first got saved

  33. and after a couple of months,

  34. I started going to this Pentecostal

  35. church

  36. and I'd be greeted at the door

  37. and the man at the door would go, "Jesus

  38. in me.

  39. loves you.

  40. And after about six weeks of that, the

  41. seventh week, I walked in the door and

  42. he went, "Jesus in me loves you." I

  43. said, "Well, how do you feel?" He said,

  44. "How how do I feel about what? How do

  45. you feel about me?"

  46. I said, "I know Jesus loves me, but I've

  47. been wondering about you now for six

  48. weeks."

  49. But one of the things I I sense in this

  50. church is family.

  51. >> And you see, you can't be family without

  52. love.

  53. Is somebody with me?

  54. >> All right. I want you to Well, you may

  55. be wondering why I'm sitting down.

  56. I feel like it.

  57. >> Come on.

  58. So,

  59. I want you to go to Habac

  60. and I'm going to be talking or Habacco.

  61. I don't care how you pronounce them,

  62. just get there.

  63. And I'm going to begin with this.

  64. Many of you already have heard this

  65. before.

  66. Very familiar verses

  67. in Habac.

  68. And as I'm thinking about Habac,

  69. I'm thinking about a young man,

  70. and he's somewhere

  71. between 16

  72. and 17 years of age.

  73. We know that he's not even 18

  74. because he's not a soldier.

  75. And you can't be a soldier in the Lord's

  76. army

  77. until you were 18.

  78. So, we know he's not a soldier.

  79. And he's climbing up

  80. this ladder.

  81. And he's going up on the wall.

  82. And out in the darkness

  83. are the Assyrians.

  84. And they have everyone inside

  85. outnumbered

  86. by a couple hundred to one.

  87. And as he's climbing up

  88. just before the midnight hour,

  89. he gets on the wall in the ramparts

  90. and he starts

  91. walking down the wall

  92. and he's behind

  93. the soldiers on the wall

  94. and they are there with spears,

  95. bows and arrows

  96. and pots.

  97. of hot boiling oil getting ready for the

  98. attack that will be coming. There'll be

  99. no sleep that night.

  100. And then he climbs

  101. up into the tower

  102. and that's where we meet him. We meet

  103. him at the tower

  104. because

  105. all the men in the tower

  106. are primarily between 16 and 17.

  107. And he will not be the only one on that

  108. tower.

  109. There'll be at least three others on

  110. that tower with him.

  111. And that way that they're watching

  112. north, south, east, and west on the

  113. towers.

  114. And the other thing that he knows

  115. is that

  116. just before the Assyrians attack, the

  117. first thing they will do

  118. is they will shoot the arrows

  119. and kill every man on the tower.

  120. Hello. He knows

  121. tonight's the night I die.

  122. Many years ago, I was in Sri Lanka.

  123. I'm in this hotel in Sri Lanka, and

  124. right outside my window is an old fort

  125. that goes way back to colonial days, but

  126. yet it was still a used garrison.

  127. And about 3:00 in the morning,

  128. I hear gunshots.

  129. And that's when the civil war broke out

  130. in Sri Lanka.

  131. And the first men

  132. that were killed that night were the

  133. soldiers in the tower. The snipers hit

  134. him right away,

  135. immediately.

  136. And so I've seen the reality of that.

  137. And just imagine a 16, 17 year olds,

  138. three of them, four of them up in there

  139. and then it begins with

  140. see this when you're in a situation when

  141. you're between a rock and a hard place,

  142. there's nothing you can do but pray.

  143. Are you with me?

  144. The only thing you can do when you look

  145. at men in combat,

  146. you're you're with a bunch of believers.

  147. >> Hello.

  148. >> Come on.

  149. There's two things a man die does in

  150. combat before he dies.

  151. Number one, God forgive me.

  152. God forgive me.

  153. And then the second thing he does is he

  154. speaks of a woman,

  155. a mother,

  156. a sister,

  157. a wife.

  158. Tell her I love her.

  159. Mhm.

  160. Four boys

  161. knowing they're going to pray that

  162. prayer

  163. and

  164. want God to to tell mother he loves him.

  165. And then while he's praying,

  166. he comes in to the presence.

  167. Come on. How many of you this morning

  168. got got a taste of the presence? Got a

  169. Come on.

  170. >> You know, it's it's like I know when he

  171. is and I know when he isn't.

  172. >> Hello.

  173. And it may only be a moment.

  174. And it's amazing because when you're in

  175. the presence of God,

  176. an hour's like a moment.

  177. Come on.

  178. Because you're no longer in chrono time.

  179. You're in chairos time.

  180. You're in time without limitation.

  181. And so here he's caught up in no longer

  182. that Cronis time. He's in prayer and he

  183. he's in the presence of God.

  184. And something happens

  185. and he says this. And then

  186. the Lord answered me and said, "Write

  187. the vision. Make it plain on tablets

  188. that he may run. who reads it.

  189. For the vision is yet for an appointed

  190. time,

  191. but at the end it will speak and it will

  192. not lie, though it terries. Wait for it

  193. because it will surely come. It will not

  194. tarry.

  195. The moments

  196. in the presence of God

  197. assured him that tonight he will not

  198. die.

  199. Hello.

  200. >> Because it's telling him

  201. that he has a vision.

  202. Come on. The one thing I know about

  203. every one of you in this room, without

  204. exception,

  205. is that all of you have a dream or a

  206. vision.

  207. You may have had it when you were 9

  208. years old, but you have it.

  209. And come. Oh, this is going to be so

  210. profound. what I'm about to tell you the

  211. difference between a dream and a vision.

  212. Dreams are with your eyes shut and

  213. visions are with your eyes open.

  214. But all of them are a picture of your

  215. destiny.

  216. They're a picture of your future.

  217. And it's just something that you can't

  218. forget. It's something that that you

  219. cannot.

  220. And the Syrians came and they ran over

  221. Jerusalem and they took it.

  222. And over 90% were slaughtered that that

  223. that morning.

  224. But not

  225. not this boy in the tower

  226. because he had a come on. See some

  227. something God gave him. I I have people

  228. all the time, all the time, I'll go to

  229. certain places, you know, and and

  230. especially places that are, let's put it

  231. this way, think they're a little more

  232. spiritual,

  233. and they'll tell me about their dreams

  234. and their visions, and I know they don't

  235. have them.

  236. C can I share something with you?

  237. I was preaching

  238. out of this scripture

  239. in Chicago.

  240. I was in what you call the ghetto. I was

  241. in the hood. I was in a church of about

  242. a thousand people in a movie theater.

  243. When I got done preaching the sermon,

  244. I walked off the platform over to that

  245. side and I was supposed to walk off over

  246. that side, but I for some reason I got

  247. confused.

  248. You ever get confused?

  249. But maybe you're being led not knowing

  250. it. And I wound up going over that side

  251. and I started coming down the round and

  252. right next to where you're sitting,

  253. sister, right on that end chair,

  254. was this

  255. girl.

  256. and she had three little boys at her

  257. legs.

  258. She had a heavy,

  259. heavy wool coat on. This was August.

  260. You don't wear heavy wool coats in

  261. August.

  262. She was maybe 5 foot three.

  263. She was probably about as big as my

  264. thigh.

  265. skinny looking.

  266. And when I went by her,

  267. she grabbed my coat

  268. and she just was crying.

  269. She was crying.

  270. And she said,

  271. "I had a vision.

  272. I had a dream,

  273. but I lost it.

  274. She told me

  275. when nine boys

  276. raped her

  277. when she was 10 years old. She was on

  278. drugs by the time she was 12 and a

  279. prostitute.

  280. At 12,

  281. she was there with three little boys.

  282. And she was not even 18 years old. She

  283. was 17,

  284. the same age as this prophet.

  285. And this was her time on the tower.

  286. And I looked at her

  287. and I said to her,

  288. "It's impossible

  289. to lose a dream."

  290. Come on.

  291. I've had thousands of dreams that I

  292. don't remember because they're not worth

  293. remembering.

  294. I've had nightmares, bad dreams, good

  295. dreams.

  296. But once in a while, I've had a God

  297. dream.

  298. And you see, a God dream

  299. is your destiny dream.

  300. And I said to her, I said, "What was

  301. your dream?" I f I forgot my dream. I

  302. said, "Honey, you you can't forget a

  303. dream.

  304. If you had this dream before all this

  305. happened to you, what was that dream?" I

  306. I I I saw a woman with white shoes and

  307. white nylons and a white white skirt and

  308. a white top and she had like a little

  309. white hat on her head with a cross. I

  310. said, "That's a nurse."

  311. And she said, "I always dreamt I'd be a

  312. nurse

  313. and I wound up as a drug addict and a

  314. prostitute."

  315. She said, 'But I've been sober

  316. for three weeks.'

  317. She said, 'I got save you three weeks

  318. ago.

  319. And I said, and so I said, walk with me.

  320. Walk with me. Just then, a couple women

  321. came around her and they said, "Leave

  322. the man of God alone.

  323. I said, "No,

  324. no. This is why I'm here.

  325. This is why I'm here."

  326. And I started walking with her.

  327. And as I was walking with her, I had the

  328. boys.

  329. And the boys,

  330. one of them, he put both of his feet

  331. right on this foot and wrapped his arms

  332. around me, the little one, and put his

  333. head right here.

  334. And then the the other one,

  335. and I So, I'm trying to walk with this

  336. kid on my leg.

  337. And then the other one, the one that was

  338. the next bigger, he's he's holding he's

  339. got a hold of my jacket on the other

  340. side. And then the bigger one is right

  341. here. And he's big. He's big. I mean,

  342. he's he's way big for a kid his age.

  343. Matter of fact, I thought he was more

  344. than twice his age. And he's about this

  345. big, this kid. And he's pointing at me

  346. and he's screaming at me. You touch my

  347. mom, I'm gonna kill you.

  348. Screaming at me. And these women are

  349. trying to get him, get her in the kids.

  350. I said, "No, no,

  351. no. I don't care if I got to drag these

  352. kids. They're going with me.

  353. He can scream all he wants."

  354. So I said to her,

  355. "When you had that dream,

  356. how'd you react?"

  357. "Oh, I got better in school. I got all

  358. A's

  359. until I got raped and they put the drugs

  360. in me."

  361. I said, "Yeah, you know why?" She said,

  362. "Why?"

  363. I said, ' Because that dream was from

  364. God.

  365. See, when people tell me they have a

  366. dream from God, you know how I know most

  367. of them don't?

  368. Because they're not willing to pay the

  369. price.

  370. Because

  371. when God gives you a dream, it don't

  372. come easy.

  373. You got to pay the price.

  374. >> Come on. And the price is called

  375. sacrifice.

  376. But the thing is when God gives you a

  377. dream,

  378. you wake up with a passion.

  379. And you see passion is the very thing

  380. that gives you the power to pursue.

  381. It empowers you.

  382. It's a grace

  383. and it empowers you. See, we think of

  384. grace as God's favor.

  385. But when the apostle said, "But by the

  386. grace of God, I am a wise master

  387. builder." He wasn't talking about having

  388. favor. He was talking about having

  389. empowerment.

  390. And so,

  391. and the empowerment is the passion

  392. because the passion

  393. will give you resiliency.

  394. And I spoke that word resiliency to her.

  395. She said, "What does that mean?" I said,

  396. "That means you don't quit.

  397. That means you don't quit." I learned as

  398. a kid when I started boxing in fifth

  399. grade, I learned until I stopped boxing

  400. in high school. I learned you don't quit

  401. until the bell rings.

  402. Hello. I learned playing football, you

  403. don't quit until the whistle blows.

  404. And I ain't hearing no bells and I'm not

  405. hearing no whistles. and I'm not

  406. quitting.

  407. >> But I also told her, I said, "No, the

  408. passion, you just keep it just keeps it

  409. just keeps going. It keeps coming

  410. and and you and it you come."

  411. And then I said this to her,

  412. "But the price

  413. is always sacrifice."

  414. I said, "You can become a nurse,

  415. but but I'm going to tell you something.

  416. You've got to get a GED.

  417. You got to you got to get get with some

  418. hospital or something that has a

  419. program. You got to get in the program.

  420. And you're going to have to be going to

  421. school. You're going to have to have a

  422. job. And you're going to have to be

  423. raising three boys at the same time. You

  424. can't be like the other mothers.

  425. You got to just keep at it. You got to

  426. keep on keeping on, honey. You got to

  427. sacrifice.

  428. You don't get anything in this world

  429. without sacrifice. You don't accomplish

  430. anything without that. People aren't

  431. willing to sacrifice.

  432. Never get ahead.

  433. >> Hello.

  434. And so

  435. I told her sacrifice

  436. and I said, "There's going to be times

  437. you're going to be sitting on that bus,

  438. whether you're going to work, coming

  439. home from work, and there's going to be

  440. tears in your eyes, or you just you're

  441. just going to pass out and fall asleep."

  442. And then I said to her,

  443. "Honey, you got to stay focused

  444. because there's going to be people

  445. around you that are going to try to talk

  446. you out of it.

  447. Your biggest enemy sometimes is family

  448. and friends.

  449. Come on. They they want to pull you back

  450. into their mess all the time.

  451. And I said, 'You going to have to stay

  452. focused. Keep your eye on the prize.

  453. As Christians, we keep our eyes on the

  454. prize. We keep looking forward to that

  455. day where we stand in front of the

  456. throne of God.

  457. >> Oh, hallelujah.

  458. >> So, it's very very important we keep our

  459. focus.

  460. And then I told her

  461. I told her this.

  462. I said,

  463. "Those boys right there

  464. will become what you become.

  465. And the greater work that you do,

  466. they'll do greater works."

  467. >> And just then

  468. her

  469. She I as I was going to the end,

  470. this woman tried to help her take her

  471. coat off and I realized what do you hear

  472. this?

  473. She was wearing a slip.

  474. She had no dress.

  475. We're talking poor. You know what?

  476. There's a difference between poor and

  477. poor.

  478. to poor.

  479. She had nothing.

  480. So the story I'm telling you took place

  481. probably

  482. right around 37 38 years ago.

  483. I was in a church,

  484. a black church.

  485. Church I was with in the city was an all

  486. black church.

  487. But this church was in the suburbs.

  488. Only church about 200.

  489. I don't even think it was that

  490. all black church. But everybody in it

  491. was a doctor, a lawyer,

  492. business person,

  493. person in government,

  494. everybody in that church,

  495. that church, their offering was probably

  496. the same size as that church that was a

  497. thousand people.

  498. Come on.

  499. These were people that were in that

  500. ghetto,

  501. but they escaped.

  502. Come on.

  503. See, there's always those that escape.

  504. There's always those that refuse to be a

  505. victim and decide to be a victor.

  506. >> There's always those that they may have

  507. been may come on. They may had a part of

  508. their life where they were overcome, but

  509. they eventually overcome. They're called

  510. overcomers.

  511. See, we're singing about I'm an

  512. overcomer. I'm an overcomer. Yeah, but

  513. what have you overcome?

  514. >> You got to be you got to overcome

  515. something to be an overcomer.

  516. >> Well, I was in now now that church I'm

  517. I'm It's packed with overcomers.

  518. And I

  519. come off the platform

  520. and this lady comes up to me, but couple

  521. people, several people came up to had a

  522. crowd. And then we went to a back room

  523. just like you have a back room here.

  524. Went in the back room and there was a

  525. little group came in there and the

  526. pastor said, "I got somebody special.

  527. She wants to see you."

  528. This woman comes up, 5 foot three,

  529. gray hair,

  530. kind of round.

  531. That's all I'm going to say.

  532. And she and I'm in this room with all

  533. these people. I mean I mean the room

  534. this little room is packed.

  535. And she goes, "Remember me?"

  536. Now let me tell you something.

  537. When a woman comes up to you

  538. and she's an older woman

  539. and you're an older man

  540. and you've had two lives,

  541. the before and after.

  542. Hello.

  543. You got the BC before Christ and the AC

  544. after Christ.

  545. and she goes, "Remember me."

  546. And and she may even have a kid with her

  547. and you're thinking,

  548. "I don't know if I want to remember her,

  549. but I'm in trouble because I don't

  550. remember her." I'm seriously my mind is

  551. a blank. I am sitting there going, "Uh

  552. uh uh go." I mean, what do you say when

  553. a woman goes, "Remember me?" And you're

  554. going, "Oh my god." I So,

  555. and she goes,

  556. "Remember

  557. the gal that just got off drugs

  558. and you told her she could be a nurse,

  559. that her dream could be fulfilled?"

  560. She said, "I'm her.

  561. She said, "I got a job as a cleaning

  562. lady in the hospital."

  563. And she said, "And I found out the

  564. hospital had full programs."

  565. And eventually she said, "I got into

  566. this thing

  567. for for basically being being like a

  568. medical helper or something like that."

  569. It was just a three-month program.

  570. And I got a job doing that. And then she

  571. said, "I got a job as a licensed plaque

  572. practical nurse. I went through licensed

  573. plaque practical nurse training. Did

  574. that for a while. She said, and then I I

  575. went through training to be an RN, a

  576. registered nurse. Hello.

  577. you know, and I became a registered

  578. nurse at the hospital. She said, "Then I

  579. got my master's in administration."

  580. And she said, "And today

  581. I am the head."

  582. Hello,

  583. of all

  584. of all personnel in that hospital except

  585. for the doctors.

  586. And then she showed me there were these

  587. three huge guys in the room

  588. and she introduced them to me as her

  589. three sons and her one son went to

  590. University of Michigan, played for the

  591. Detroit Lions for two years

  592. and he became

  596. I'll tell you later. And the other one

  597. went to the University of Michigan on a

  598. football scholarship and I'll tell you

  599. later.

  600. And so here they were, these three men

  601. and they were thanking me.

  602. They were thanking me. They were hugging

  603. me and crying

  604. and they were just putting all kinds of

  605. money in my pocket and everything.

  606. So I was between and I'm and I start

  607. crying. I you know you get crying or

  608. laughing or something in that thing

  609. and she introduced me to the three boys.

  610. I forget their names now, but she

  611. introduced me to him and the first one

  612. she said,

  613. "He's a surgeon

  614. in my hospital."

  615. That was the one that played for the

  616. Detroit Lions.

  617. And she said, "My other boy," she said,

  618. "Come on, honey. He's a lawyer.

  619. And she said, "My other boy just got out

  620. and he tried out for pro ball, but but

  621. now he's going to graduate school."

  622. And I said, "What are you going to be,

  623. son?" He said, "Well," he said, "I was

  624. thinking about being a doctor. I was

  625. thinking about about being a lawyer."

  626. And he said, "I decided I'm going to be

  627. both.

  628. [Applause]

  629. And I said to them,

  630. I said, 'You are what you are

  631. because your mother is what she is.

  632. And I said, your mother is the dream

  633. walking.

  634. She's a walking dream.

  635. And when you live with a walking dream,

  636. come on.

  637. Come on. And you begin to become the

  638. image of that dream.

  639. And you begin to believe if she could, I

  640. can.

  641. And I said, you are what you are

  642. because your mother

  643. is a walking dream.

  644. And them boys broke down cried.

  650. please?

  651. You know I just would like ask you to

  652. stand.

  653. Pardon me as I try to get back a little
