  1. Good morning, North Palm, and thank you

  2. for joining us online. It's an honor to

  3. be able to come into your home. I I want

  4. to share a word with you that I really

  5. believe Holy Spirit is speaking right

  6. now, and it's a fundamental word. It is

  7. a an incredibly important word to our

  8. faith and and that is simply the title

  9. is a targeted invasion. We're going to

  10. look at a couple of the writings of the

  11. Apostle John. In John chapter 1 verse14,

    John 1 chapter mention

  12. the the Bible says that the word became

  13. flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld

  14. his glory, the glory as of the only

  15. begotten of the father, full of grace

  16. and truth. And then in first John

    1 John 3 chapter mention

  17. chapter 3 verse number 8, John says, "He

  18. who sins is of the devil, for the devil

  19. has sinned from the beginning. For this

  20. purpose, the son of God was manifested

  21. that he might destroy the works of the

  22. devil. So, let's take a moment and pray

  23. together. Holy Spirit, open our ears

  24. that we can hear what you have to say.

  25. Open our hearts. Make them receptive.

  26. Open our minds. Give us understanding.

  27. Lord, we give you permission to move

  28. deep in our life to form our hearts, to

  29. form our character. Jesus have your way

  30. in us today. Amen. Amen. The first thing

  31. I want you to notice is that the

  32. incarnation is not incidental. Jesus

  33. didn't come by accident. The birth of

  34. Jesus was intentional. Jesus entered the

  35. world with a mission. He just didn't

  36. arrive randomly. He came with a purpose.

  37. As a matter of fact, he came on purpose

  38. for a purpose. So John doesn't present

  39. the incarnation as sentimental. He

  40. doesn't present it as symbolic, but he

  41. presents it as strategic. That Jesus

  42. didn't merely come to show us how to

  43. live. He didn't come only to forgive

  44. sins, but Jesus came on assignment. John

  45. said, "For this purpose the son of God

  46. was manifested that he might destroy the

  47. works of the devil." And so that pray

  48. that phrase tells us something that is

  49. absolutely critical. The incarnation,

  50. God became man. It was a targeted

  51. invasion into hostile territory. Jesus

  52. entered enemy territory on purpose.

  53. Heaven broke into earth with intent.

  54. Light entered darkness with precision.

  55. So Jesus didn't just come to rescue

  56. people from sin. Jesus came to dismantle

  57. the entire system that made sin able to

  58. reign. So I want to be clear this

  59. morning. John 1 John 3:8 teaches that

    1 John 3:8

  60. the incarnation of Christ, God become

  61. coming man, God coming in the form of

  62. man was a targeted invasion designed to

  63. undo sin's authority, to break

  64. deception, to silence accusation, to

  65. free humanity from bondage, and to

  66. restore righteous identity. The works of

  67. the devil are systemic. They are

  68. relational. The works of the devil are

  69. spiritual. And their destruction is

  70. decisive. Their destruction is

  71. progressive. And their destruction is

  72. ultimately final. Evil operates through

  73. cultural, political, religious, and

  74. social systems that normalize rebellion

  75. against God. But Christ came to undo

  76. sin's authority. John begins with a

  77. sober diagnosis of the statement. He

  78. said, "He who sins is of the devil."

  79. Now, this is not a statement about an

  80. occasional failure. This is a statement

  81. about governing power. Sin in scripture

  82. is not just behavior. It is dominion.

  83. And Paul echoes that in Romans in Romans

    Romans 6 chapter mention

  84. chapter 6 verse number 14 where the

  85. Apostle Paul says, "For sin shall not

  86. have dominion over you, for you are not

  87. under the law but under grace." The word

  88. dominion in the Greek means to rule as a

  89. lord. It means to exercise mastery, to

  90. govern as a sovereign. And so Paul says,

  91. "Sin will not govern you. Sin will not

  92. be sovereign over you." And so he's

  93. using kingdom language because sin is

  94. personified as a ruler, not just a

  95. behavior, but as someone who lords over

  96. you. And so the implication is this. Sin

  97. once reigned as your master, but now it

  98. no longer possesses legitimate authority

  99. over you as a believer. Sin was once a

  100. slave master before Christ. Sin wasn't

  101. just something that you did. Sin was

  102. something that had rule over you. So

  103. from the beginning, sin functioned like

  104. a throne. It ruled through desire. Sin

  105. governed through fear. And it enforced

  106. obedience through consequence. But

  107. humanity did not merely commit sin.

  108. Humanity lived under sin. But God

  109. invaded this sin cursed earth. Paul said

  110. in Philippians chapter 2 verse 5-8, "Let

    Philippians 2:5–8

  111. this mind be in you, which was also in

  112. Christ Jesus, who being in the form of

  113. God, did not consider it robbery to be

  114. equal with God, but made himself of no

  115. reputation, taking the form of a

  116. servant, and coming in the likeness of

  117. men, and being found in appearance as a

  118. man, he humbled himself and became

  119. obedient to the point of death, even the

  120. death of the cross. In Galatians 4 verse

    Galatians 4:4

  121. 4 and 5, Paul said, "But when the

  122. fullness of time come, God sent forth

  123. his son born of a woman, born under the

  124. law, to redeem those who were under the

  125. law, that we might receive the adoption

  126. as sons." So when Jesus arrived, he

  127. didn't negotiate with sin. He confronted

  128. sin in the wilderness. Jesus resisted

  129. sin in his ministry. Jesus forgave sin

  130. at the cross. Jesus condemned sin. And

  131. in the resurrection, Jesus defeated sin.

  132. So sin's authority was broken. It wasn't

  133. just bypassed. It was annihilated. Sin

  134. no longer reigns where Christ rules. You

  135. understand that Jesus came to break

  136. deception. Jesus himself identified the

  137. devil's primary weapon in John 8 verse

  138. number 44. Jesus said, "For you are of

  139. your father, the devil, and the desires

  140. of your father you wanted to do. He was

  141. a murderer from the beginning and does

  142. not stand in the truth because there is

  143. no truth in him. When he speaks a lie,

  144. he speaks from his own resources. For he

  145. is a liar and the father of it. You see,

  146. the devil's greatest success was not

  147. tempting humanity to disobey. It was

  148. convincing humanity to think wrongly.

  149. Every deception traces back to one

  150. central lie in Genesis chapter 3 verse

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  151. one. I want you to notice this in the

  152. very beginning. Now the serpent was more

  153. cunning than any beast of the field

  154. which the Lord had made. And he said to

  155. the woman, "Has God indeed said, you

  156. shall not eat of every tree in the

  157. garden?" And the woman said to the

  158. serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the

  159. trees of the garden, but of the fruit of

  160. the tree, which is in the midst of the

  161. garden. God has said, 'You shall not eat

  162. of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you

  163. die." Then the serpent said to the

  164. woman, "You'll not surely die. For God

  165. knows in that day you eat of it. Your

  166. eyes will be opened, and you'll be like

  167. God, knowing good and evil." So you see

  168. the devil's strategy in Genesis wasn't

  169. violence, it was distortion.

  170. Did God really say, sowing that seed of

  171. doubt, you're not going to die? No. No.

  172. God didn't mean what he said. He doesn't

  173. want you to be like him. You'll be like

  174. God. Eat the fruit. So deception

  175. reframes rebellion as wisdom and it

  176. reframes independence as freedom.

  177. But Jesus is the revelation of truth.

  178. The gospel of John opens in John chapter

    John 1 chapter mention

  179. 1 verse one. In the beginning was the

  180. word and the word was with God and the

  181. word was God. The same was in the

  182. beginning with God. All things were made

  183. through him and without him was not

  184. anything made that was made. So the word

  185. became flesh. Truth didn't come as

  186. philosophy.

  187. Truth came as a person. Jesus breaks

  188. deception by revealing the father

  189. accurately. By revealing humanity

  190. honestly and by revealing sin for what

  191. it is. He reveals freedom as submission,

  192. not as autonomy. So the works of the

  193. devil collapse when truth stands

  194. embodied.

  195. Christ came to silence accusation. And

  196. there are so many of you today that the

  197. enemy is bringing accusation against

  198. you. He's combating your mind. He's

  199. bringing condemnation. He's constantly

  200. accusing you. Revelation names Satan as

  201. the accuser of the brethren. In

  202. Revelation 12 verse 10, then I heard a

    Revelation 12:10

  203. loud voice saying, "In heaven now

  204. salvation and strength and the kingdom

  205. of our God and the power of his Christ

  206. have come. For the accuser of the

  207. brethren who accused them before our God

  208. day and night has been cast down." So

  209. accusation is not the same as conviction

  210. because conviction leads you to

  211. repentance but accusation leads you to

  212. respare. When when the Holy Spirit

  213. brings conviction on you, it causes you

  214. to want to go on your knees and to pray

  215. and say, "God, forgive me. I have messed

  216. up." You you're convicted. You are

  217. convinced that there is sin operating in

  218. you. But but when the enemy comes with

  219. accusation then you become what you did

  220. the accusation accusation has a voice.

  221. It says you are a drug addict. You are

  222. an alcoholic. You are the sin that you

  223. committed. Accusation says you're never

  224. going to change. Why are you even

  225. trying? Your mother was like that. Your

  226. father was like that. Your ancestors

  227. have been like that. You've always

  228. you're never going to change. accusation

  229. says God tolerates you but he doesn't

  230. delight in you and this voice traffics

  231. impartial truth. It's a it's a partial

  232. truth. It's the skin of the truth that's

  233. stuffed you with a lie because

  234. accusation robs you of hope.

  235. But the cross is the silencer.

  236. At the cross something legal occurred.

  237. At the cross, sin was judged. At the

  238. cross, debt was cancelled. At the cross,

  239. charges were dismissed. Paul says that

  240. the handwriting of requirement was

  241. nailed to the cross. In Col in

  242. Colossians chapter 2:14,

  243. having wiped out the handwriting of

  244. requirements that was against us, which

  245. was contrary to us, he has taken it out

  246. of the way, nailed it to the cross. So

  247. accusation loses its legal standing when

  248. guilt is removed. Where there is no

  249. condemnation, accusation has no

  250. jurisdiction.

  251. I want you to notice that Jesus came to

  252. free humanity from bondage. Bondage is

  253. the lived experience of sin's rule. The

  254. Bible describes it as slavery. Some of

  255. you, the enemy has bound you as a slave

  256. to sin. The Bible describes it as

  257. chains. You are chained in that bondage

  258. of sin. It's captivity. You have been

  259. taken captive by sin. And the Bible

  260. describes it as darkness. Paul said that

  261. if the gospel is hidden, it is hidden to

  262. those who do not believe lest the

  263. glorious light of the gospel of Christ

  264. should shine on them and they and they

  265. understand. So you you know that Jesus

  266. described his mission very clearly in

  267. John 8 verse number 37

  268. Jesus said John 8:36 rather therefore if

    John 8:36

  269. the son makes you free you shall be free

  270. indeed so freedom isn't permission

  271. biblical freedom is not the ability just

  272. to do whatever you want to do it is the

  273. restoration of your ability to obey God

  274. with joy. That's real freedom. So

  275. bondage enslaves desire, but freedom

  276. realigns desire. Jesus didn't just

  277. forgive prisoners. Jesus opened the

  278. prison. Jesus broke the chains that held

  279. you bound. Jesus set you free through

  280. his death on the cross. I want you to

  281. understand that Christ came to restore

  282. your righteous identity. John's argument

  283. doesn't end with behavior. It ends with

  284. identity.

  285. John declares in 1 John chapter 3 verse

    1 John 3 chapter mention

  286. number one. Behold what manner of love

  287. the father has bestowed on us that we

  288. should be called the children of God.

  289. Therefore, the world does not know us

  290. because it did not know him. You

  291. understand that the devil works to

  292. distort identity. There is such a battle

  293. today that is going on in the world over

  294. identity. The devil wants to distort

  295. your identity from being an imagebearer

  296. of God to being a rebel of God. The

  297. devil wants to destroy your identity

  298. from being a son of God to actually

  299. becoming a slave. He wants to distort

  300. your identity from being beloved of God

  301. to being condemned. But Jesus restores

  302. identity. Jesus will move you from

  303. sinner to a son. He will move you from

  304. being an orphan to becoming an heir of

  305. God. He moves you from being condemned,

  306. condemned by sin, condemned by your

  307. actions, condemned by the works of your

  308. flesh, to being justified by faith, to

  309. being restored and righteous, to become

  310. a son of the living God. You see,

  311. righteousness is not cosmetic.

  312. Righteousness is not moral improvement.

  313. Righteousness is new birth. The works of

  314. the devil are destroyed when a new

  315. nature is installed. And so the nature

  316. of the devil's work, I want you to see

  317. this. And I want you to see their

  318. destruction because the works of the

  319. devil are systemic. They are embedded in

  320. structures and in cultures. Everywhere

  321. you look, you can see the works of the

  322. devil. You can see them in religion. You

  323. can see them in government. You can see

  324. them in education. You can see them in

  325. the media, in arts and entertainment. In

  326. every area, you see the enemy working

  327. systemically to bring destruction on

  328. humanity. They are relational. The works

  329. of the devil are relational. They

  330. corrupt trust. They try to destroy

  331. trust. They try to destroy authority and

  332. ultimately to destroy your ability to

  333. have intimacy.

  334. And they're spiritual. They are rooted

  335. in unseen powers. But you need to

  336. understand this. Their destruction is

  337. decisive. Their destruction was

  338. accomplished on the cross of Calvary.

  339. When Jesus went to the cross of the of

  340. Calvary, he destroyed the works of the

  341. devil. They're progressive. They're

  342. worked out in your sanctification. When

  343. you decide, I'm going to serve the Lord.

  344. I'm going to live for Jesus. Then you

  345. are progressively destroying the works

  346. of darkness. Your sanctification

  347. is a progressive destruction of the

  348. enemy's work. And you need to understand

  349. that their destruction is ultimately

  350. final. That the enemy, Satan, will be

  351. destroyed. He will be cast into the lake

  352. of fire that burns with brimstone. He

  353. will be consumed in judgment. So the

  354. enemy is defeated,

  355. but yet he's not been removed. The war

  356. is won,

  357. but the enemy

  358. is disarmed.

  359. The victory is still being enforced.

  360. Victory is accomplished, but the final

  361. removal is coming. So the message of the

  362. Lord to you this morning is hold on.

  363. Don't give up because the invasion is

  364. continuing. The incarnation of Christ,

  365. God became men. It wasn't the end. It is

  366. the beginning. And now Jesus advances

  367. his victory. But how does he advance his

  368. victory? He advances his victory through

  369. regenerated lives. He advances his

  370. victory through truth that's proclaimed.

  371. He advances his victory through

  372. authority that is exercised. He advances

  373. his victory through holiness that is

  374. manifested. And where Christ reigns, sin

  375. loses authority. Where Christ reigns,

  376. lies lose credibility. Where Christ

  377. reigns, accusation loses its voice.

  378. Where Christ reigns, bondage loses its

  379. grip. Where Christ reigns, identity is

  380. restored. The Son of God was manifested

  381. not to coexist with darkness, but to

  382. dismantle darkness, to destroy darkness.

  383. And so I declare today that Jesus Christ

  384. did not come to manage sin. Jesus came

  385. to destroy sin. He didn't negotiate with

  386. darkness. Jesus overcame darkness. What

  387. the devil built through deception,

  388. Jesus dismantled through truth.

  389. What sin ruled through fear,

  390. Jesus broke through the cross. And what

  391. was lost in Adam has been restored

  392. in the sun. So the invasion has

  393. succeeded.

  394. The works of the devil are undone

  395. and the reign of Christ advances.

  396. but it advances

  397. through us.

  398. Now, if you're watching this morning and

  399. and you're not sure if you were to die

  400. tonight that you would go to heaven, I

  401. want to give you an opportunity

  402. to allow Jesus to come into your heart

  403. to forgive you of your sins, to cleanse

  404. you from your unrighteousness.

  405. You see, everything happened because of

  406. Calvary. Because of Calvary, you have

  407. hope. Because of Calvary, you can have

  408. forgiveness. Because of Calvary, you can

  409. be set free from condemnation and

  410. accusation. Jesus Christ wants to give

  411. you a new life and a new hope. And it

  412. begins by embracing him, by welcoming

  413. him into your life. So, if you don't

  414. know the Lord, I I want to give you an

  415. opportunity. Pray this prayer with me

  416. now. Ask Jesus to come into your heart.

  417. allow him to give you a new life that

  418. only comes through his precious blood.

  419. So pray with me now. Lord Jesus, I

  420. confess my sin. Come into my heart.

  421. Forgive me of my sin. Cleanse me from my

  422. unrighteousness.

  423. I confess with my mouth and I believe in

  424. my heart that God has raised Jesus from

  425. the dead. Thank you Lord for saving me,

  426. for forgiving me,

  427. for setting me free in Jesus name. Amen.

  428. Amen

  429. and amen.

  430. Now, I would encourage you to go to the

  431. uh to go online and to text the word

  432. notes to 843755-6209

  433. and and get a copy of the notes and you

  434. can study further. And then also,

  435. there's a 7-day prayer plan at the end

  436. of those notes that I would encourage

  437. you to pray through every day. It's a

  438. guided prayer plan that'll give you

  439. action points and a prayer focus and

  440. really help us to apply the word to our

  441. lives. It's been an honor to to come

  442. into your home and I just want to I want

  443. to bless you. I want to bless you in

  444. Jesus name. You know, we have a

  445. benediction that we go through each week

  446. at the end of the service. And and so I

  447. I just want to ask you to receive that

  448. right now because I put a demand on your

  449. faith and I say in Jesus name, increase

  450. faith grow, become stronger. I call

  451. forth that supernatural gift to come

  452. over you, to flow in you, to work

  453. through you. that everywhere you go that

  454. there is an outbreak of signs and

  455. wonders and miracles, that demons are

  456. cast out, that the sick are healed, that

  457. that the lame are able to walk, that the

  458. deaf hear.

  459. And so, right now, right where you are,

  460. just lift your hands and get ready to

  461. grab as much as you can. May the face of

  462. the Lord shine upon you. May the glory

  463. of the Lord go before you and may he

  464. lead you from victory to victory to

  465. victory to victory to victory to victory

  466. to victory to victory to victory to

  467. victory. May the enemy that comes at you

  468. in one direction run from you in seven.

  469. I declare in the name of Jesus, you are

  470. the head and not the tail. You are the

  471. first and not the last. You're blessed

  472. when you come in. You're blessed when

  473. you go out. You're blessed when you sit

  474. down. You're blessed when you get up.

  475. The work of your hands are blessed. The

  476. steps of your feet are blessed. The

  477. thoughts of your mind are blessed. You

  478. are blessed to be a blessing. Now, be a

  479. blessing to someone this week in Jesus

  480. name. God bless you.
