  1. Okay, you know what to do. Turn to your

  2. neighbor and say, "It's a good time to

  3. be here."

  4. Yes, it is. Yes. God is so good. You

  5. know, again, you're the only you we've

  6. got, and we are so happy that God has

  7. given us the opportunity to advance the

  8. kingdom of God in you as well as with

  9. you. And it's it's exciting to be a part

  10. of the great things that are happening

  11. in our world today. You know, sometimes

  12. we look at the world and you know, there

  13. might be at times fear that grips your

  14. heart or uncertainties that enter into

  15. your mind. But I wouldn't want to be

  16. born in any other time than this. And

  17. each one of us has been chosen for this

  18. time. God knew way back in the beginning

  19. before the world was ever created, he

  20. knew you were coming. And he knew at

  21. what day and what age that you would be

  22. active um and involved in his kingdom.

  23. And so again, we're very honored that we

  24. have this opportunity to walk in this

  25. together as a as a unit, as one, and see

  26. great things happen on our earth in what

  27. seems the most challenging times. Amen.

  28. >> Amen.

  29. >> Amen. Today, I'd like to just share a

  30. little bit about the thought of would it

  31. have been enough? Would it have been

  32. enough? And so, we're going to be

  33. looking in Hebrews chap 11. And I'm just

  34. going to go ahead and read verses 1

  35. through3.

  36. And it says, "Now faith is the assurance

  37. of things hoped for, the conviction of

  38. things not seen. For by it the people of

  39. old received their commenation.

  40. By faith we understand that the universe

  41. was created by the word of God so that

  42. what is seen was not made out of things

  43. that are visible."

  44. And that word accommodation means an act

  45. of praising or approval or entrusting

  46. someone with something.

  47. Look at your neighbor and say, "God's

  48. entrusted you with something.

  49. He has entrusted you with something."

  50. And so they were they were people of old

  51. who received accommodation.

  52. They were representing a divine

  53. approval. Turn to your neighbor and say,

  54. "God approves of you."

  55. Amen. And he does. Lord, we just thank

  56. you for this wonderful opportunity

  57. called today. Thank you for the

  58. invitation that you gave us to enter

  59. into it. Not everybody got it, but we

  60. did because we're here. And so, Lord, we

  61. won't take today lightly.

  62. Thank you, Father, for giving us

  63. something

  64. that we can walk in.

  65. And it's faith. And so, Lord, may we

  66. exercise it well as we follow through

  67. with the assignments that you've laid on

  68. our heart as those of old did. And we're

  69. here today as a witness because of that.

  70. We thank you and we love you. Amen.

  71. Um, the word Hebrew, I like this word.

  72. Um, I looked it up and it actually means

  73. one who is in transit, someone who

  74. passes over or someone who flowers forth

  75. or a deducer. That means like one who

  76. kind of processes everything and one who

  77. looks at something from all sides.

  78. And so, friends, I think it's easy for

  79. us to say that this earth is not our

  80. home. We are just passing through as

  81. those who are adopted into the family of

  82. God. We are a part of Israel. Hebrews

  83. were the children of Israel. And so we

  84. are passing through. But a lot of times

  85. we establish ourselves on this earth as

  86. if this is where we're hanging out

  87. forever. But this is not it. There is so

  88. much more to this earth than what we

  89. see. And as a part of our mentality and

  90. our mindset of I got to make it big

  91. while I'm here. I got to make a name for

  92. myself. I got to make money. I got to do

  93. this. I got to buy that. And I got to

  94. have that. We put our faith and our hope

  95. in a lot of things that will disappoint

  96. us. Now, I don't know if there's anybody

  97. in here that does this. Um, but I'm

  98. going to make a confession. I will

  99. scroll through my Facebook, you know,

  100. and I'll find all these latest and

  101. greatest ideas and products that'll say

  102. they'll do this and they'll do that,

  103. right? And I'm like, "Oh, I got that

  104. problem. Oh, oh, yeah. Okay." And then

  105. I'll start reading through like all the

  106. reviews of what people have said. I'll

  107. even watch their little videos, you

  108. know, as they're saying, "This did that

  109. for me and and and and this is what

  110. happened in three weeks and and all this

  111. kind of stuff." And I'm like, "Yeah,

  112. okay." And so we're constantly getting

  113. packages like delivered to the house.

  114. Keith goes, "Angela, you're living your

  115. best life right now. I guess there's no

  116. retirement."

  117. And so I'm just one of those people. If

  118. if they say it's true, I'll give it a

  119. try. Here, my latest and greatest is

  120. some kind of beef fat tallow that you're

  121. supposed to put on your face and it gets

  122. rid of the wrinkles. I'll let you know

  123. how it works in three weeks. Or maybe

  124. you'll start seeing the results. Who

  125. knows, you know? Um but anyway, but we

  126. do that based on what we've read and

  127. what we've heard. We'll give it a try.

  128. It's like why not? And we'll invest all

  129. that hardearned money into things that

  130. end up in a drawer somewhere and

  131. disappointment in our hearts

  132. >> because it didn't work for me.

  133. But how much more is this thing right

  134. here that we call the word of God that

  135. if we will just invest our time into it

  136. and invest our lives in it, it will not

  137. disappoint you.

  138. It will not disappoint you. But often

  139. what we hear from people is, I prayed,

  140. God didn't answer my prayer.

  141. It might work for you, but it don't work

  142. for me. And so this book may end up in a

  143. drawer somewhere and we might mark

  144. disappointment on it. But what we need

  145. to realize is that God's word is just

  146. that. It's his word. It is his yes and

  147. it is his amen. What he said he will do,

  148. he will do. It will happen. It is a

  149. guarantee.

  150. And we have to begin to put our faith

  151. and our trust in something that is more

  152. stable than be fat. All right? That'll

  153. help get rid of wrinkles. Keith goes,

  154. "You're just like your mama."

  155. I said, 'Well, at least I'm not putting

  156. Preparation H on my face. Back in her

  157. day, it was Preparation H gets rid of

  158. wrinkles. I hadn't done that yet. Okay.

  159. I said, "But I am my mother's daughter."

  160. And so, so we will try all kinds of

  161. things, but we need to put our faith in

  162. God's work. So, word, so it will be

  163. commended. We will be commended for

  164. this. In other words, what the writer of

  165. Hebrews is saying is that these are

  166. people you need to follow their example.

  167. Are you the type of person that other

  168. people could look at and follow your

  169. example and they get results? They get

  170. the results they're looking for. Okay?

  171. It might take more than three weeks for

  172. the results to happen, but they're

  173. living their lives knowing, I'm going to

  174. get the results. And can people follow

  175. that example that we set? Um I want to

  176. take a few minutes and we're going to

  177. kind of break this chapter down a little

  178. bit. We're just going to focus on three

  179. of the many people that um the writer of

  180. Hebrews had given and written about

  181. their lives, their story. Hebrews is

  182. taking the Old Testament, the promises

  183. that were made then, connecting it with

  184. the New Testament of where they were

  185. fulfilled, but still uniting both of

  186. those as well as us in today's time to

  187. carry us into the ultimate promise that

  188. still has yet to come.

  189. And will what we read in this book be

  190. enough? Would it be enough to read this

  191. and to believe in what we still have yet

  192. to see? All right, so let's look at

  193. we're going to break this down a little

  194. bit. Let's go into uh where Hebrews 11:8

    Hebrews 11:8

  195. and we're going to read about Abraham.

  196. By faith, Abraham obeyed

  197. when he was called to go out to a place

  198. that he was to receive as an

  199. inheritance. And he went out not knowing

  200. where he was going.

  201. Now, how many of you whenever you're

  202. getting ready to take a trip, the first

  203. thing we do, again, we have such modern

  204. convenience here, we'll grab our phone

  205. and we will put the navigation system

  206. on. We'll Google map it or whatever and

  207. we'll listen to the directions

  208. in a mile at the next light you will

  209. turn right. Turn right. Okay. So it even

  210. reiterates it over and over again. All

  211. right. And so sometimes we'll argue with

  212. it the GPS system thinking you don't

  213. know where you're taking me because

  214. sometimes it really doesn't. Okay. All

  215. right. This is this is programmed by man

  216. fallible mankind. Okay. So, it doesn't

  217. always get it right and it'll take you

  218. around in circles and in circles and in

  219. circles and you know that place is

  220. somewhere and it knows it's somewhere.

  221. It just doesn't know how to get you

  222. there. All right? But God's word knows

  223. how to get us where we're going. All

  224. right? Even if God doesn't fully tell us

  225. where we're headed.

  226. Abraham was willing to just uproot

  227. collect his family and say, "We're

  228. heading out to a promised land. Not

  229. quite sure where this is. Um, but we're

  230. going." And the story continues to say,

  231. if you'll continue to read through this

  232. um part of the chapter, that he entered

  233. into a foreign land, being the promised

  234. land, and they lived in tents. They

  235. lived in tents and he was a very wealthy

  236. man, but they lived in tents. Now, when

  237. I was a little girl, my father was in

  238. the Marine Corps, and he served for 10

  239. years. He did not retire from the

  240. Marines, but he served for 10 years. And

  241. during that 10ear service, he fought in

  242. a war called Vietnam. And um when he

  243. came back from Vietnam, he stayed in the

  244. service for a little bit longer. But

  245. when it came time for reinlistment, he

  246. felt like God was calling him to serve

  247. in other means and other capacity. And

  248. that was through full-time ministry. And

  249. so we were at a South Carolina

  250. Church of God camp meeting. Now, this

  251. was a denomination. And my father had

  252. already gotten out of the Marines. So we

  253. had housing when we were on base and we

  254. had military housing, but he had did not

  255. reinlist and we were out and we and all

  256. of our stuff went to Molden, South

  257. Carolina for a week of family camp

  258. meeting. And every day he would walk up

  259. to the overseer's home, not his office,

  260. but his home. Now, the overseer was over

  261. all the denomination in the state of

  262. South Carolina. And every day, he would

  263. walk to that overseer's home and he

  264. would say, "Hey, I'm George Cooper.

  265. God's called me here. He's called me to

  266. pastor. Do you have a church for me?"

  267. And the overseer would say, "No, no,

  268. brother. We don't have a church for

  269. you." So, he would go back the next day

  270. and he would say, "Hey, George Cooper,

  271. I'm here. God's calling to this place.

  272. Do you have a church for me? And the and

  273. the overseer would say, "No." And he did

  274. this every day. Every day while we were

  275. at camp meeting, the final day of camp

  276. meeting, we were actually camping out.

  277. We had a couple of tents and my

  278. grandparents, it was something that we

  279. would do. And my grandparents would had

  280. their camper. And the overseer comes

  281. onto the campground looking for my dad.

  282. and he says, "George, we have a place

  283. for you if you'd like to go." And my dad

  284. said, "I'll take it." He didn't he

  285. didn't know where it was. He didn't wait

  286. for him to say, you know, what what the

  287. conditions were like. My dad just said,

  288. "We'll take it." And so it was in North

  289. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Anybody

  290. familiar with North Myrtle Beach? All

  291. right. Okay. A lot of sometimes people

  292. know Myrtle Beach, but they don't know

  293. North Myrtle Beach that well. They're

  294. sister cities like Charleston and North

  295. Charleston. So, it was North Myrtle

  296. Beach. And when we pulled up to this

  297. little cinder block church which had

  298. been established six years prior, they

  299. had five women and a handful of children

  300. as their congregation and that was it.

  301. And the husbands would not bring the

  302. wives to church. Some of them did not

  303. drive. So my dad would have to be the

  304. church bus in our Ford station wagon and

  305. go pick them up, minister to them, and

  306. take them home.

  307. But they also didn't have a home for the

  308. minister and his family. And back in

  309. those days they were called parsonages

  310. which would be a house that would sit

  311. beside the church and the family would

  312. live in it. There was no housing aotment

  313. to go and maybe purchase a home. We

  314. didn't have a house that we sold prior

  315. to coming because we were on base

  316. housing. And so my dad did not retire.

  317. So there wasn't like there was a lot of

  318. money that he could just pull from in

  319. order to get us something. But we did

  320. have two military tents and a pop-up

  321. camper.

  322. And so it was beside that building that

  323. my dad positioned those tents. One my

  324. mom cooked in, the other one we kept our

  325. stuff in. And the little camper we'd

  326. sleep in. And it was just literally a

  327. little pop-up camper. You'd walk in and

  328. you either went to the left and fell on

  329. a bed or you went to the right and fell

  330. on a bed and that was it.

  331. And so my mom and dad, what they would

  332. do is they would um go inside the church

  333. itself and they would sponge bath

  334. regularly, but at the back of the

  335. church, because we were surrounded by

  336. woods, they throw a piece of plywood out

  337. there and they'd bathe us kids out

  338. there. And I'd say, "Mom, this is no way

  339. for a Christian to have to take a bath.

  340. This is no way. We ain't supposed to be

  341. doing this." But this is what we did.

  342. You just pulled up and you just went.

  343. God said, "You're going. We don't know

  344. where we're going, but this is where we

  345. ended up at and we were in tents.

  346. Friends, sometimes we have to just take

  347. God at his word and we have to follow

  348. him wherever he's leading us. And it

  349. might not be where we thought. It might

  350. not be the Taj Mahal that you end up in.

  351. All right? It might not be full of

  352. grander the way your eyes and your

  353. vision sees it. But while we were there,

  354. the Lord had just really anointed my

  355. parents. They did some amazing things.

  356. They have an apostolic ministry where

  357. they build physically as well as in the

  358. in the spirit. So they did a lot of

  359. renovations where the church was

  360. concerned. My dad worked another job so

  361. he could buy a mobile home for us to be

  362. able to live in. But that started just

  363. the the beginning of a ministry where he

  364. would go and he would build. Everywhere

  365. he was sent to, he would build and he

  366. would build and he would build and we

  367. all survived it. I'm here. I'm alive and

  368. well. I had my seventh birthday in one

  369. of those tents. So, I'm 59 years old.

  370. So, help me do the math. That was what,

  371. 52 years ago. Is that right? Am I right?

  372. Hey, I'm getting better at this. Okay.

  373. Yeah. So, 52 years ago, and my story is

  374. still being written. And God is so

  375. amazing in life. And so, do not let your

  376. hearts be troubled at where he may be

  377. sending you and what you may be walking

  378. into. He knows the plans that he's made

  379. for you to give you a future, to give

  380. you a hope, not to destroy you, but to

  381. actually help you be productive. And so,

  382. God is doing great things. And so,

  383. think about something that God has asked

  384. you to do recently or maybe in the past

  385. and now you're on the other side of it.

  386. You passed through like Hebrews, you

  387. didn't just hang out there, but you were

  388. passing through.

  389. If he did not do anything, anything else

  390. for you, would that have been enough?

  391. Turn to your neighbor and ask them,

  392. would that have been enough?

  393. All right, let's look at the next one.

  394. We're going to go to Hebrews 11:23

    Hebrews 11:23–25

  395. through 25. By faith, Moses when he was

  396. born was hidden for three months by his

  397. parents because he saw or they saw that

  398. the child was beautiful and they were

  399. not afraid of the king's edict. By

  400. faith, Moses when he was grown up

  401. refused to be called the son of

  402. Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to

  403. be mistreated with the people of God

  404. than to enjoy fleeting pleasures of sin.

  405. So here there was an edict where all the

  406. children were being killed because the

  407. Israel was in slavery and they were just

  408. producing and remapply and Pharaoh was

  409. afraid that they were going to just

  410. outnumber them and then overtake them by

  411. some great big rebellion. So they just

  412. started killing all the men and

  413. children. But the parents of Moses saw

  414. something special about their child. Now

  415. I think every parent sees something

  416. special about their child.

  417. and we will do anything in our heart to

  418. be able to guard them and to protect

  419. them from any harm that's out there in

  420. the world. And so they saw something

  421. beautiful about him and so they hid him

  422. for three months. Could you imagine

  423. hiding a baby for three months? That is

  424. a very vital time in the life of a

  425. child. And their only communication is

  426. that's all they know. And so, could you

  427. imagine trying to keep this child secret

  428. so that nobody would find him to harm

  429. him or to hurt him?

  430. But Pharaoh's daughter happened to find

  431. him as he was being hidden in the bull

  432. rushes over being watched over by his

  433. sister Miriam. And so, she loved the

  434. child and she gave the child an

  435. opportunity to grow up with his

  436. birthother, which she did not know was

  437. his birth mother at the time. But she

  438. allowed the child to go with Miriam to

  439. go be taken to a woman who could nurse

  440. him until he was older. and then bring

  441. him into Pharaoh's home. And so Moses

  442. grew up with wealth. He grew up with

  443. education. He grew up with all the finer

  444. things in life. But then God called him

  445. to do something greater than that.

  446. Friends, if we get caught up in this

  447. world and its riches, your aspirations

  448. are low, you're missing it. You're

  449. missing it. It's not about that. Now, we

  450. do need resources in order to be able to

  451. accomplish the things that God has for

  452. us. But our faith needs to be put not in

  453. those things, but in the character of

  454. who God is, who is the author and the

  455. finisher of our faith, who will provide

  456. for us if we just say, "Yes, I'll go.

  457. Yes, I'll go. Yes, I'll go." But too

  458. often we want to look at things in the

  459. natural and say, "Ain't no way. No way

  460. that's going to happen. That's

  461. impossible." Nothing is impossible with

  462. God, is it? nothing. Absolutely nothing.

  463. All he's wanting for you to do is to say

  464. yes. That's all he wants. And so Moses

  465. went out and chose to live in the

  466. wilderness with his people

  467. until God again called him and said, "I

  468. need you to come back.

  469. I need you to come back now to what

  470. you've left because

  471. the children are crying out.

  472. the children are crying out. Now, when

  473. Moses had gone into that wilderness, he

  474. discovered a little bit more about who

  475. he really was. He wasn't the child or

  476. the do or the son of Pharaoh's daughter,

  477. but he was chosen to be a child of God.

  478. He was chosen to be something greater,

  479. to be a deliverer, to go and help set

  480. captives free.

  481. And the Lord told him, "My children are

  482. crying out."

  483. How many times do we have as adults,

  484. and I'm I'm speaking to myself as well.

  485. I didn't really know who I was as I was

  486. entering into adulthood, and that's

  487. probably normal for some natural, but

  488. you know, I had a a knowledge of the

  489. word, but I didn't really have a

  490. relationship with the word. So, it

  491. wasn't really that alive in me. I could

  492. quote it, but I didn't understand what

  493. it was that I was saying. And so, I

  494. didn't know how to walk in it and and

  495. and live it and and make it applicable.

  496. And so, as I grew into adulthood, I

  497. carried all the confusion and the

  498. insecurities into from a from a child

  499. and from um you know, growing up as a

  500. teenager, which a lot that's normal, a

  501. lot of things that we walk through, but

  502. I carried it into my adult life. And so

  503. at this time I started beginning to have

  504. my own family, but I was still trying to

  505. figure out who I was.

  506. And I think I'm not probably not the

  507. only one that's done that.

  508. And so we get caught up in trying to

  509. figure out who we are that we forget

  510. about our responsibility of the ones

  511. that we're bringing up.

  512. And we expect that just because we're in

  513. church or we place them in in a in a in

  514. a ministry that they're getting it.

  515. But where does ministry first begin? In

  516. the home. It begins in the home.

  517. It's always there. That is the

  518. beginning. And as much as we want to

  519. pride ourselves, oh, I'm a mama bear.

  520. Don't you be messing with my kids or,

  521. you know, daddy's going to get them for

  522. that.

  523. There's always something lacking if

  524. Jesus is not truly the center and if

  525. we're making ourselves the center

  526. and we're trying to figure ourselves

  527. out.

  528. And so what happens is is that the enemy

  529. comes in and he goes after the children

  530. while we adults are trying to figure it

  531. out, trying to get it together.

  532. Who am I? What am I supposed to be

  533. doing? My dreams, my aspirations.

  534. And all along the children are just

  535. trying, they're crying out.

  536. And the enemy is coming in and trying to

  537. help silence their cries.

  538. In Moses's day as a babe, Pharaoh was

  539. killing them. Friends, I want to tell

  540. you, it's no different right now. It's

  541. no different right now in these days.

  542. Your children may be alive and well, but

  543. the enemy is out here killing them. He's

  544. out to kill, steal, and destroy while

  545. we're still trying to get it together.

  546. It's time to get it together, families.

  547. It's time to get it together, parents.

  548. It's time to know who you are. And it's

  549. time to know what your responsibility is

  550. where your children are concerned

  551. because they are crying out. And you

  552. know what they're doing in middle

  553. school? They're bringing guns to school.

  554. How do I know it? Because it happened at

  555. my school two times in two weeks. Loaded

  556. guns to school. And right after that,

  557. the principal gets a phone call where a

  558. student in our school shot his brother.

  559. Listen, they're crying out. They're

  560. crying out. But where are the parents?

  561. Where are the families that will say, "I

  562. will take responsibility. I will raise

  563. this child. I will hide him from the

  564. enemy. I will hide her from the enemy. I

  565. will cover them." And one of the things

  566. that really irritates me, and I'm sorry,

  567. I don't want to be on a soap box, is

  568. that when we come to people and say, "We

  569. need help in kids church." That's not my

  570. ministry. I wasn't called to do that.

  571. Let me tell you something. If there's

  572. breath in your body, you're called to

  573. minister to kids. You're called to bring

  574. them up in the ways of God. When my

  575. children, when my kids walked out of the

  576. ways of God, you know what I did? I

  577. didn't sit around and feel sorry for

  578. myself and say, "Oh, I got so many

  579. problems, my child. What they're doing?

  580. They're just breaking my heart. They're

  581. just crushing me." No, that doesn't make

  582. it any less true. They did. But you know

  583. what? I did. I went to your kids and I

  584. said, "Okay, I know mine's coming back.

  585. I'm going to help you get yours, too.

  586. Because if the enemyy's messing with

  587. mine, oh my, he's messed with the wrong

  588. MAMA BEAR. HE'S MESSED with the wrong

  589. mama bear. AND THEY'RE ALL COMING IN.

  590. ALL OF THEM ARE COMING IN. AND IT'S time

  591. as a church that we realize the

  592. importance of our children. They need

  593. us. They need us. And we need to bring

  594. them up. And we need to take time to get

  595. off the pew and get into that church and

  596. start raising them up and start bringing

  597. them up. Listen, Jesus put priority on

  598. the children.

  599. >> Now, we all look at the scripture, oh,

  600. suffer the little children to come into

  601. me and forbid them not for such as the

  602. kingdom of God. If you've never read it

  603. before, it's in there. Look it up.

  604. >> But he didn't come into this earth as an

  605. adult.

  606. >> He didn't

  607. A lot of times we just think we're the

  608. ones that got all the problems. We're

  609. the ones that are having to find things

  610. and seek things out. If he just only

  611. cared about adults, he'd have just

  612. showed up one day. But he did not. He

  613. came in as a baby. As a baby, showing us

  614. that every stage of life is a value to

  615. God. It is important to God. Is it

  616. important to you? If he never does

  617. anything for you ever again, but maybe

  618. he's blessed you with children, would

  619. that have been enough for you to

  620. believe? Would that have been enough for

  621. you to believe?

  622. Now, I'm going to step down. We're going

  623. to go to Hebrews. Hebrews 11:31.

    Hebrews 11:31

  624. A woman named Rahab comes into the

  625. picture. By faith, Rahab the prostitute

  626. did not perish with those who were

  627. disobedient because she had given a

  628. friendly welcome to the spies.

  629. It was time to go take the promised

  630. land. Moses had died.

  631. He was humbled and he was walked in

  632. humility during his time and going back,

  633. leaving a palace and going out into the

  634. wilderness with people. But he had

  635. passed on now.

  636. And so now Joshua had been raised up.

  637. And so they send sla um spies back into

  638. Kaa to check it out.

  639. And these spies happened to come across

  640. a prostitute named Rahab.

  641. And so they were being sought after. And

  642. so she gave them shelter in her home.

  643. And when it was time for them to leave,

  644. she lowered them. As Joshua chapter 2

    Joshua 2 chapter mention

  645. verse1 15 tells us, she lowered them

  646. over the city wall for her house was a

  647. part of that wall.

  648. Her house was a part of that wall. And

  649. the promise that they made to her

  650. because she asked them, she says,

  651. "Listen, we've heard about your God. We

  652. have seen what he has been doing. And

  653. people's hearts are melting with fear in

  654. this place.

  655. would you please spare me and my family?

  656. Is there any way we can be spared from

  657. what's getting ready to happen? And so

  658. the spies told her, because you were

  659. kind to us, if you will take this cord

  660. and put it in the window, this will be a

  661. sign. It was a scarlet cord. This will

  662. be a sign that you will be protected.

  663. Gather all your family into the house.

  664. only those that are in your house will

  665. be protected from what's getting ready

  666. to happen. And so she did that. She went

  667. out and she gathered her family. We

  668. don't know who all was in her family. We

  669. don't know um what all uh was there. You

  670. know, she was a prostitute. We didn't

  671. know if they even wanted to have

  672. anything to do with her. If they even

  673. believed that this was going to, you

  674. know, happen. But whoever gathered in

  675. her house was going to be spared.

  676. Now remember, her house was a part of

  677. the city wall.

  678. And so as the children of Israel went

  679. and they followed the commands of God

  680. and they marched around for seven days

  681. around that wall, six just one time

  682. each. But on the seventh day, they

  683. marched seven times around and they blew

  684. the horns on that seventh time and the

  685. walls began to shake.

  686. Does anybody feel like your house is

  687. shaking a little bit right now?

  688. This earth is filled with all kinds of

  689. trouble. God's told us that all kinds of

  690. in this world you're going to have

  691. trouble. But he says, "Take heart

  692. because I have what? Overcome the

  693. world." Yeah. And so we find ourselves

  694. in that guarantee

  695. that we can be safe even when the earth

  696. in the world is shaking, when there's

  697. issues, when there's trouble, when

  698. there's all kinds of things that are

  699. taking place.

  700. I'll never forget when my oldest son was

  701. uh three months old. I had a dream and

  702. in my dream he was five years old and at

  703. that in that dream at the age of five he

  704. was being arrested

  705. and I remember asking the police officer

  706. can I go with him I'm his mother he's

  707. just a baby and he said every child is

  708. somebody's baby no you cannot go and so

  709. when I woke up from that dream I

  710. remember saying uh-uh not on my watch

  711. this is never going to happen my child

  712. this is he is not going to experience

  713. that um arrest and jail has been

  714. something that's ran in my family and so

  715. I just said no it's going to break with

  716. this he he is not going and so as a

  717. mother I've always tried to guard and

  718. protect and keep him safe and look out

  719. for him sometimes even cover for him all

  720. right when when things would happen

  721. because he was not going to go to jail.

  722. And so one day um we were living in

  723. Goose Creek and I was coaching another

  724. ministry in Monk's Corner um and I was

  725. with this minister and and their his

  726. wife and their staff, their team. And I

  727. had been there all day Saturday. And

  728. when I got through I noticed my phone

  729. had just been blowed up. I mean

  730. messages, calls, all kinds of stuff. I'm

  731. like, my goodness, what is going on? And

  732. so as I'm driving home, I begin to

  733. listen to the messages and I'm like, my

  734. heart just sinks. So I called Keith and

  735. he said, 'Angela Zachary has just been

  736. arrested.

  737. And I thought, what? Now listen friends,

  738. you can't make this stuff up. Here I am

  739. trying to keep him out of jail. And who

  740. pressed the charges? His sister.

  741. I am not kidding. his sister.

  742. And so anyway, we were parents and we

  743. were like, "Okay, we've got two children

  744. here." We told them we were going to

  745. support them. We were here for both of

  746. them. They had an an a an an argument.

  747. They had something going on,

  748. altercation, but we supported both of

  749. them. And so I thought, "What happened?"

  750. I had been praying. I had been binding.

  751. I had been breaking curses. I had been

  752. doing all kinds of things. I was trying

  753. ever since he was three months old for

  754. this moment not to become a reality and

  755. it did.

  756. Now I could have just looked at this and

  757. said, "It doesn't work.

  758. God doesn't hear my prayer." And forgot

  759. everything else he had done for me up to

  760. that moment, which is what some of us

  761. have a tendency to do.

  762. After all he's done, wouldn't that have

  763. been enough? If he hadn't done anything

  764. else, wouldn't that have been enough?

  765. And I remember I had to speak that very,

  766. this was on a Saturday. And I had to

  767. speak that very next Sunday morning. And

  768. we had made the choice and the decision

  769. to let him spend the night to stay

  770. there. And so I called up one of my

  771. prophets. Her name is Stephanie. And I

  772. said, "Stephanie, you need to really

  773. pray for me and cover me. I'm speaking

  774. today. And this is what happened last

  775. night. And I'm okay, but I just need

  776. extra strength and encouragement." I

  777. tell you what, God will send them. God

  778. will send the people to help lift you up

  779. when your house is shaking, when the

  780. foundation of your home is shaking.

  781. And so I was covered in prayer that day.

  782. And what was even more beautiful was

  783. that the church that I was coaching at

  784. that Saturday, the pastor happened to be

  785. a guard in the Berkeley County Jail.

  786. And he happened to be at work that

  787. night. And he happened to go in and

  788. said, "Hey, your boy's here. I'll look

  789. out for him while he's here. So, he had

  790. a captive audience to speak into Zach's

  791. life that couldn't go anywhere. And he

  792. spoke and he ministered to Zach all

  793. night long. All night long. Something I

  794. was trying to prevent from happening was

  795. the very thing God said is going to

  796. happen so I can position your son so he

  797. can hear what he needs to hear so he can

  798. find his way back to me.

  799. But what we have a tendency to do when

  800. things like that happen and our houses

  801. are shaking is we have a tendency to

  802. want to run outside of the house. Run

  803. outside of the covering. Okay. I could

  804. have said, "Oh, pastor, I can't preach

  805. tomorrow because my son's in jail and

  806. and I got to go and just stay at home

  807. and cry and you know,

  808. I just can't get up. I just can't make I

  809. can't get up there on that stage. I

  810. can't speak to the people today. I could

  811. have done that. But when we come out of

  812. the safety of the covering of the house,

  813. we chance getting hit by a wall that's

  814. falling and that's crashing. And as long

  815. as we stay in the house, then we are

  816. going to be fine. We may be shaken. The

  817. foundations of our home may feel like

  818. they're falling apart, but if we will

  819. stay in the house, we will be saved. We

  820. will be saved. We will be saved. We will

  821. be saved. Friend, stay in the house.

  822. Stay in the house. Don't get out of the

  823. house when the world is shaking. A lot

  824. of people want to say, "I'm done. I'm

  825. leaving." Don't leave the house if

  826. unless you want to get hit by the

  827. bricks. Stay inside the house. Everybody

  828. outside that house was killed.

  829. Stay under the covering and the

  830. protection of what the house brings.

  831. That scarlet cord represented the blood

  832. of Jesus. It was a representation. And

  833. if you'll look in every story of the

  834. Bible from Old Testament, you will see

  835. Jesus. And that scarlet cord represented

  836. the blood that he was shed that he would

  837. be shedding for the remission of sin to

  838. cover us to cover us. And so when I

  839. mention the house, I'm not mentioning a

  840. building. I'm mentioning a family of

  841. God. The kingdom of God.

  842. Not just a building, but the kingdom of

  843. God. And you could go on and read for

  844. yourself Hebrews 11 on through 32-40.

  845. And you can find out all these amazing

  846. people that lived for God and allowed

  847. their faith to help see them through

  848. difficult times and difficult

  849. situations, but yet none of them got

  850. what was promised.

  851. They may have gotten a little thing here

  852. and a little thing there, but the

  853. ultimate promise

  854. is that of restoration.

  855. Because you see, your story is part of a

  856. greater story. It's just not about you.

  857. It's just not about me.

  858. Angela lived and she did this and she

  859. did that and then she died.

  860. No, it's a part of what God is doing.

  861. It's his story and we're a part of that

  862. now. And his story is being manifested

  863. in our lives from creation to the fall

  864. to redemption. And now we're all waiting

  865. for that restoration, that time when the

  866. old what's happening now is gone and a

  867. new creation is stepped into place and

  868. God is taking us back to the original

  869. plan he had to begin with where

  870. everything is perfect.

  871. For everything is perfect and our faith

  872. is now being united with their faith

  873. from back of days of old. And we are now

  874. coming together to live in the moments

  875. that are still to come. Romans 8 23-2.

  876. And I'm wrapping up with this. And we

  877. believers also groan.

  878. W

  879. even though we have the Holy Spirit

  880. within us as a foretaste of the future

  881. glory. For we long for our bodies to be

  882. released from sin and suffering. And we

  883. too wait with eager hope for the day

  884. when God will give us our full rights as

  885. his adopted children,

  886. including the new bodies he has promised

  887. us.

  888. Then I can stop buying all that stuff on

  889. Facebook.

  890. We were given this hope when we were

  891. saved.

  892. If we already have something, we don't

  893. need to hope for it. But we look forward

  894. to something we don't yet have. We must

  895. wait patiently and confidently.

  896. If he doesn't do anything else for you,

  897. would what he already has done and what

  898. he has said in his word, would it be

  899. enough to keep you holding on for the

  900. ultimate promise?
