  1. Good morning. Today's Pentecost Sunday.

  2. Anybody know that?

  3. >> 50 days after Passover where the Holy

  4. Spirit fell on the people in the upper

  5. room that waited 10 days after Jesus's

  6. ascension where he promised his

  7. followers that the Holy Spirit would

  8. come. And it's a gift, our comforter,

  9. revealer of truth. And so today, I have

  10. the honor and the privilege to share the

  11. word of God with you. And I'm just

  12. praying that you are just focused and

  13. ready to receive an impartation of joy

  14. and breakthrough today because I truly

  15. believe that's what the Lord wants to

  16. do. And so before we do anything else,

  17. let's ask the Holy Spirit to come and to

  18. do a work in our hearts and to make sure

  19. that we're not callous and hard towards

  20. the Lord, but we want to be able to

  21. receive all that God has for us. So

  22. right where you are, just bow your

  23. heads, close your eyes, and with your

  24. own words, come on, say, "Holy Spirit,

  25. >> Holy Spirit,

  26. >> come. We ask you Lord

  27. >> that you would do a deep work

  28. >> and soften our hearts today

  29. >> in Jesus name.

  30. >> The church says

  31. >> amen. Now we do have notes and if you

  32. want to follow along and it's uh if you

  33. text the number 8437556209.

  34. If you want the notes in English you

  35. just type notes. And if you want it in

  36. Spanish, put notes. And then you you're

  37. going to get a link to the Uver notes

  38. and so you can follow along. But of

  39. course, I'm gonna go a little outside

  40. the notes, too. So, you might want to

  41. write something down if I didn't put it

  42. in there. But today, we're going to be

  43. talking about the mind of Christ. The

  44. title of today's message is the mind of

  45. Christ. And I feel like the Lord has

  46. taken me on this journey of this

  47. revelation of how to truly be a

  48. Christian who lives in the mind of

  49. Christ. Because we have so many

  50. opportunities to to set our minds on the

  51. things of the world and set our mind on

  52. the things of the flesh. But we as

  53. Christians, we're not supposed to be

  54. boring. We're not supposed to be

  55. miserable. We're not supposed to be

  56. struck down and destroyed. We're not

  57. supposed to be falling apart. We're

  58. supposed to be the salt of the earth. Do

  59. you know how good salt is? Do we're

  60. supposed to be the light. We're supposed

  61. to be the best of the best. But we have

  62. so many Christians walking around

  63. miserable. And it is a sad day. And

  64. we're going to turn our mourning into

  65. dancing today.

  66. He changes our sorrows for joy. And so

  67. there has been a lot of research about

  68. the brain. And I want to talk about a

  69. little bit of that research.

  70. Neuroscience shows something fascinating

  71. that your brain does not simply record

  72. reality like a camera. What it does is

  73. it interprets reality through past

  74. experiences, expectations, emotional

  75. patterns, beliefs, repeated thoughts,

  76. trauma, and habits.

  77. So your brain is like trying to predict

  78. what's about to happen. is trying to

  79. interpret what's happening and trying to

  80. get us out of danger as soon as

  81. possible. That's what's that's what's

  82. happening. And so there was this doctor

  83. who did this example and he got this

  84. picture and he told the people around

  85. him, he said, "Hey, I want you to look

  86. at this picture and in 3 seconds, I'm

  87. going to give you five seconds, but in

  88. the first three seconds, I need you to

  89. find five red objects in this picture."

  90. And so the people did that and they

  91. found the objects very easily. And right

  92. after he took the picture away and he

  93. said, "Now tell me what were the green

  94. objects and nobody could name them

  95. because everybody was focused on the red

  96. objects." And this is an example of how

  97. our brain filters whatever we set our

  98. minds to. It's going to amplify. It's

  99. going to fire and wire and connect and

  100. make those pathways stronger. But this

  101. is something that the Bible has already

  102. talked about. The Bible has been

  103. teaching this for thousands of years.

  104. So, let's open up our beautiful Bibles

  105. to Romans 12 verse 1-2. Oh, Romans.

    Romans 12:1–2

  106. Telling you, Romans is one of the best

  107. books in the Bible. All right. It says,

  108. "Paul is writing to the church of Rome,

  109. and he tells them, I appeal to you,

  110. therefore, brothers, by the mercy of God

  111. to present your bodies as a living

  112. sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,

  113. which is your spiritual worship.

  114. Do not be conformed to this world, but

  115. be transformed by the renewal of your

  116. mind, that by testing you may discern

  117. what is the will of God, what is good

  118. and acceptable and perfect. I love this

  119. because transformation happens

  120. intentionally and it's through the

  121. renewal of the mind. God changes us. He

  122. changes our perceptions. He changes even

  123. heals our traumas and he does that and

  124. it affects the way we even interpret

  125. reality. And this is really important

  126. for us as Christians because we will be

  127. useless in the kingdom of God if we are

  128. not transformed by the renewal of our

  129. mind. We will not be able to do what

  130. God's called us to do if we don't think

  131. different. If we don't think like the

  132. Lord wants us to think, if we don't

  133. think and interpret things according to

  134. his word. So he doesn't want to just

  135. change your actions. come and just look

  136. like a good Christian, spill a seed,

  137. give your tithe. He doesn't just want

  138. behavioral modifications. He wants to

  139. transform the way you even interpret

  140. reality, the way that you even see the

  141. mountain in front of you, the way you

  142. see the giant in front of you. He wants

  143. you to be able to see it, the way that

  144. he's called his people to see it. So,

  145. number one, you will live from whatever

  146. mind you cultivate.

  147. >> I want us to go to Colossians chapter 3.

    Colossians 3 chapter mention

  148. Colossians chapter 3 1-4. If then you

    Colossians 3 chapter mention

  149. have been raised with Christ, seek the

  150. things that are above, where Christ is

  151. seated at the right hand of God. Set

  152. your mind on the things that are above,

  153. not on the things that are on the earth.

  154. For you have died and your life is

  155. hidden with Christ and God. When Christ,

  156. who is your life, appears, then you will

  157. also appear with him in glory. Y'all,

  158. this scripture,

  159. if you have been raised with Christ,

  160. seek the things that are above where

  161. Christ is. The problem is, we're seeking

  162. everything. We're looking down. We're

  163. seeking everything on the earth. We're

  164. seeking all the validation we need.

  165. We're looking for our needs to be met

  166. from the trauma that wasn't healed. And

  167. we're not seeking. We're not looking up.

  168. We're not looking where Christ is. And

  169. see, there's nothing new under the sun.

  170. Thank you, Jesus. So that means you

  171. don't have to walk around wondering how

  172. to live this Christian life successfully

  173. because there are so many examples in

  174. the Bible of people who went through

  175. exactly what you went through. People

  176. who went through exactly the situations

  177. and the difficulties that you've been

  178. through. And you know what? God has a

  179. response. God has an answer for that.

  180. And so the the the Bible already tells

  181. us set our mind on these things. But

  182. also neuroscience shows us that whatever

  183. you consistently allow to occupy your

  184. attention eventually shapes your

  185. perception. The brain filters reality

  186. according to what it has been trained to

  187. prioritize.

  188. So fearrained minds notice threats.

  189. Rejection trained minds notice

  190. abandonment. Peacetrained minds notice

  191. God's faithfulness.

  192. So Colossians, let's talk about the

  193. context of Colossians and why Paul was

  194. writing this letter. So Paul's speaking

  195. to believers who are surrounded by false

  196. ideology, worldly thinking, spiritual

  197. confusion.

  198. He says, "Set your mind." That means we

  199. have the ability to control what we can

  200. perceive. That is our authority in

  201. Christ. It's also our our God-given um

  202. ability as a human. He's given us that

  203. ability to set our minds. And what is

  204. incredible is like we wouldn't look at

  205. somebody who you say, "Okay, set your

  206. clock to this time and then they refuse

  207. to set their clock to that time and then

  208. they're always late because they don't

  209. have the right time." We would not be

  210. saying like, "Oh, it's okay. It's

  211. because you have a lot of issues to deal

  212. with." We'd be like, "Set your clock so

  213. you could be on time." And that's what

  214. Jesus is saying today. Set your mind on

  215. the things that are above so that you

  216. can change and transform by the renewing

  217. of your mind. It's as simple as that.

  218. And so what you repeatedly meditate on,

  219. what you rehearse, what you obsess over,

  220. what you expose yourself to begins

  221. wiring and reinterpreting your reality.

  222. So what has been discipling your mind

  223. lately? Because something's discipling

  224. you. Whether you know it or not,

  225. something is discipling you. What is

  226. discipling you? What voices shape your

  227. thinking more than God's truth? But

  228. Deborah, you don't know how hard my life

  229. is.

  230. The Lord does. And he's given us the

  231. tools. That's the wonderful, beautiful

  232. thing about this big, beautiful Bible is

  233. that you can apply what it says and it

  234. transforms you. And I'm a walking

  235. talking miracle proof of the

  236. transformation of the renewal of God and

  237. what his transformation power can do in

  238. your mind. Are you feeding yourself fear

  239. or faith? The mind is not just where

  240. thoughts happen. It's where worlds are

  241. formed. Number two, the mind of Christ

  242. sees differently than the world. I want

  243. us to go to 1 Corinthians chapter 2

    1 Corinthians 2 chapter mention

  244. 14-16.

  245. It says the natural person does not

  246. accept the things of the spirit of God

  247. for they they are folly to him and he is

  248. not able to understand them because they

  249. are spiritually discerned and the

  250. spiritual person judges all things but

  251. is himself to be judged by no one for

  252. who has understood the mind of the Lord

  253. so as to instruct him but we have the

  254. mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is

  255. not simply smarter thinking a higher EQ

  256. IQ. It is transformed perspective.

  257. >> Transformed perspective. It's like

  258. literally how we see the entire world

  259. and the whole situation around us. It

  260. matters to have Christ's perspective.

  261. And so why again? Why is Paul writing

  262. this letter? We need to always ask that

  263. question. Why is Paul writing this

  264. letter? So the church of Corinth, they

  265. valued status, eloquence, intellect,

  266. image, performance. And Paul is

  267. confronting this worldly

  268. wisdom and he says God's wisdom is

  269. totally different. What the world wants

  270. is power, self-promotion, superiority,

  271. control, but Christ demonstrates

  272. humility, surrender, servantthood,

  273. dependence on the father. So your brain

  274. predicts reality based on previous

  275. frameworks. And so Paul is literally

  276. telling us the spirit gives believers a

  277. completely new framework. So it doesn't

  278. matter whatever cultural context we are

  279. in, whatever everyone else is

  280. prioritizing. What does Christ say is

  281. your framework to live life? And that is

  282. how we should look and live life. So we

  283. could put on all of these heavy weights

  284. and all these heavy burdens of, oh, I

  285. got to make money, money, money, money.

  286. Oh, okay. I got to I got to do this by

  287. this age. I got to have this. Did Christ

  288. say that or is that the cultural context

  289. and the pressures of the world that

  290. you're putting on yourself? And when the

  291. Lord is telling us we have to think

  292. differently, we have to look

  293. differently. And when I think of people

  294. who think differently, I I think of

  295. Caleb in the in the Old Testament. But

  296. before we go to Numbers chapter 14,

    Numbers 14 chapter mention

  297. let's go to Ephesians chapter 4 because

    Ephesians 4 chapter mention

  298. I want to read this because the Lord, he

  299. he transforms our mind, but he also puts

  300. a different spirit in us. And so since

  301. today is Pentecost Sunday, we need to

  302. talk about the power of the Holy Spirit

  303. and why the Holy Spirit is still alive

  304. and active and needed today in believers

  305. because Ephesians 4:1 17- 24 it says,

    Ephesians 4:1

  306. "Now this I say and testify in the Lord

  307. that you must no longer walk as the

  308. Gentiles do in the futility of their

  309. minds. They are darkened in their

  310. understanding, alienated from the life

  311. of God because of the ignorance that is

  312. in them due to their hardness of heart."

  313. Y'all hear that? Ignorance because of

  314. their hardness of a heart. They have

  315. become callous and have given themselves

  316. up to sensuality, greedy to practice

  317. every kind of impurity. But that is not

  318. the way you learn Christ. assuming that

  319. you have heard about him and were taught

  320. in him as the truth is in Jesus to put

  321. off your old self which belongs to your

  322. former manner of life and is corrupt

  323. through deceitful desires and be renewed

  324. in the spirit of your minds and to put

  325. on the new self created after the

  326. likeness of God in righteousness and

  327. holiness. Boy, he was he was preaching.

  328. I hope y'all got that.

  329. So what really stood out to me in this

  330. is verse 23 where it says, "And be

  331. renewed in the spirit of your mind." So

  332. what kind of spirit controls your mind?

  333. Is it the Holy Spirit? You can't be

  334. talking, thinking, acting like the world

  335. and say the Holy Spirit. You can't also

  336. be walking in condemnation and say the

  337. Holy Spirit. You can't be living in

  338. shame and also say the Holy Spirit. you

  339. you also so when we're talking about

  340. this new spirit numbers I want to go to

  341. numbers chapter 14 verse 24 because

    Numbers 14:24

  342. Caleb when we're talking about the Lord

  343. had told his people I'm going to give

  344. you this land it's going to be amazing

  345. milk honey all the stuff you want and so

  346. he basically tells Moses send 12 people

  347. over scout out the land they're just

  348. they're just supposed to get excited

  349. right they're not supposed to form all

  350. of these lofty opinions but what

  351. happened was 10 of them were not under

  352. the Holy Spirit. They were not in they

  353. did not have the mind of the Lord and

  354. instead they formed their own opinions

  355. and their own perceptions based on

  356. previous situations of slavery because

  357. they had come out of slavery. So they

  358. still had the mind of a slave. And so as

  359. they're scouting out the land, they come

  360. back and they are discouraging literally

  361. everybody. They are prophets of the

  362. devil. They come over here and they said

  363. we can't do it. We are like grasshoppers

  364. in their eyes. These people, have you

  365. seen how big they are? We can't do this.

  366. And they start interpreting everything

  367. through the filter of the world and

  368. through their trauma and through their

  369. previous experiences. But there were two

  370. who had the mind of Christ. They had a

  371. different spirit. And it was Joshua and

  372. Caleb. And they were they were like,

  373. "Y'all, we can do this." Of course, this

  374. is paraphrasing. We can do this. What

  375. are you talking about? Like God said we

  376. can do it. We can do it. Did you not

  377. remember how he brought us over the Red

  378. Sea and then defeated our enemies for

  379. us? Have you already forgotten? And

  380. they're trying, but the people are

  381. already discouraged. The people

  382. immediately go into an agreement with

  383. this demonic mindset and filtering

  384. everything through the impossibilities

  385. of the flesh.

  386. But it says in Numbers 14:4, "But my

    Numbers 14:4

  387. servant Caleb, because he has a

  388. different spirit and has followed me

  389. fully, I will bring him into the land

  390. into which he went, and his descendants

  391. shall possess it." Yes, they will. And

  392. they did. Ezekiel 36 26- 27. And I will

  393. give you a new heart, and a new spirit I

  394. will put within you, and I will remove

  395. the heart of stone from your flesh, and

  396. give you a heart of flesh, and I will

  397. put the spirit within you, and cause you

  398. to walk in my statutes, and be careful

  399. to obey my rules. Ezekiel 11:19. and I

    Ezekiel 11:19

  400. will give them one heart and a new

  401. spirit and I will put in them. I will

  402. remove the heart of stone from their

  403. flesh and give them a heart of flesh.

  404. Daniel 5:12 Because an excellent spirit,

    Daniel 5:12

  405. knowledge and understanding to interpret

  406. dreams, explain riddles, and solve

  407. problems were found in this Daniel.

  408. Daniel 6:3 then this Daniel became

    Daniel 6:3

  409. distinguished among all above all other

  410. high officials and and sats because an

  411. excellent spirit was in him. Joel 2:28

    Joel 2:28

  412. the promise is and it shall come to pass

  413. after that I will pour out my spirit on

  414. all flesh your sons and daughters shall

  415. prophesy your old men shall dream dreams

  416. and your young men shall see v visions

  417. Romans 8:9 you however are not in the

    Romans 8:9

  418. flesh but in the spirit if in fact the

  419. spirit of God dwells in you anyone who

  420. does not have the spirit of Christ does

  421. not belong to him

  422. I love that part you know that you're a

  423. son of God when you have the spirit of

  424. God. And do you know what the Bible

  425. says? Paul even wrote this. You know

  426. what the earth is groaning for? The sons

  427. of God to appear. You cannot be a son

  428. and daughter of God unless you have the

  429. spirit of God. You cannot have the

  430. spirit of God unless you have the mind

  431. of Christ. You cannot have the mind of

  432. Christ if you continually set your mind

  433. on the things of this world. And you are

  434. getting worried over nothing.

  435. >> You know what I'm saying?

  436. Hallelujah. Number three, what you

  437. repeatedly practice will rewire you.

  438. Let's go to Philippians 4:8.

    Philippians 4:8

  439. Finally, brothers, whatever is true,

  440. whatever is honorable, whatever is just,

  441. whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,

  442. whatever is commendable, if there is any

  443. excellence, if there is anything worthy

  444. of praise, think about these things.

  445. Like, it doesn't get any more simple

  446. than that. But let me tell you what,

  447. when I was choosing to have a mind of

  448. the flesh and allowing my trauma to

  449. shake me and not allow the Holy Spirit

  450. to heal me, that scripture annoyed me

  451. cuz I was like, Lord, what do you mean?

  452. And also, I'm surrounded by lovely

  453. people who have the mind of Christ. And

  454. let me tell you, when people have the

  455. mind of Christ and you don't and you're

  456. around them and then they they point out

  457. that is not the mind of Christ, that is

  458. annoying.

  459. Who wants to be annoyed?

  460. So the Lord had to take me on a journey.

  461. You know what I'm saying? He had to take

  462. me on a journey. But this is what he did

  463. because this is what this was my this

  464. was my failure.

  465. I would I would think like I would I'd

  466. go in agreement with the demonic lie

  467. that it would always be like this.

  468. Every time I song wrote that I would

  469. just think about my brother and then I'd

  470. get sad and then I don't want to song

  471. right.

  472. So it would always be like this. So

  473. whatever cycle it was, I would always be

  474. sad. I would always be a moody girl.

  475. Whatever it is, and I would come in

  476. agreement with that demonic lie. And

  477. then the Lord transformed that. I don't

  478. it just it's just me being submit

  479. submitted to this word and then

  480. something just clicked. Something just

  481. clicked where one day I was like the

  482. Holy Spirit gave me this revelation. It

  483. doesn't always have to be that way that

  484. set me free.

  485. That set me free that I grew up in the

  486. church. I grew up with wonderful

  487. parents. The worst thing that I

  488. experienced with the death of my brother

  489. and the death of our good friend and

  490. then you know some you know chronic pain

  491. here and there with you know my body

  492. because of the accident but that's not

  493. even that bad right it's not you know

  494. we're not comparing pain but everybody

  495. got pain right but that set me free that

  496. set me free because I was like it

  497. doesn't always have to be like that so

  498. then I started telling my friends and

  499. family because one day one day I'm going

  500. to leave this person in my family

  501. unnamed. But this unnamed person,

  502. they they looked at me and said,

  503. "Deborah, I'm just glad you didn't roast

  504. me today." And I had this epiphany

  505. because I thought we were laughing

  506. together. I didn't know that this person

  507. felt like I was roasting them. And so

  508. then I was like, "Okay, give me 30 days.

  509. 30 days and I will transform and I will

  510. not roast you anymore." They've

  511. restarted the clock like three times by

  512. now.

  513. But but I'm but I know and I know that's

  514. funny, but I really do say that to

  515. people who are around me. Give me 30

  516. days. Now that that doesn't mean about

  517. sin. I'm not talking about sin, y'all.

  518. Okay? But I'm talking about I I was

  519. under the the delusion, the the

  520. confusion, the demonic thought process

  521. that it would always be this way. I

  522. would always be stuck this way. I would

  523. always whatever lie. But the truth of

  524. God's word is that he can transform us.

  525. He can transform us.

  526. So you may not need 30 days. You could

  527. decide today. You could set your mind on

  528. things today.

  529. And that is the beauty of it. And even

  530. neuroscience talks about

  531. neuroplasticity.

  532. You can literally transform your brain.

  533. You don't have to stay ignorant like

  534. they that like they were in I think

  535. first Corinthians, whoever Paul was

  536. calling ignorant. You don't have to stay

  537. ignorant. You can be renewed.

  538. Hallelujah.

  539. >> That's right.

  540. >> And so I love 2 Corinthians. Now that

  541. I'm not Now that I'm not annoyed by

  542. this, 2 Corinthians 10:5, it says, "We

    2 Corinthians 10:5

  543. destroy arguments and every lofty

  544. opinion raised against the knowledge of

  545. God and take every thought captive to

  546. obey Christ." You You know, it's not

  547. cute just to stay in your trauma. That

  548. ain't cute. That ain't cute. It It

  549. really It really is not. And the Lord,

  550. he's telling us right here, we have the

  551. authority to destroy the the arguments

  552. and every lofty opinion. That even means

  553. your own opinion about yourself. Stop

  554. thinking about you what God doesn't

  555. think about you.

  556. He said you are fearfully and

  557. wonderfully made. He said you were

  558. created for such a time as this with

  559. purpose and a plan. And he wants you to

  560. execute that plan.

  561. >> And you cannot do that walking around

  562. all miserable and all sad all the time.

  563. We have to do that by believing that

  564. Christ lives in us and the hope of glory

  565. is in Christ Jesus.

  566. >> Do you know what hope is? Hope is the

  567. expectation for good. We should be

  568. interpreting reality looking for the

  569. good. Now I tell you what that is what

  570. my mother does. Okay, very well. She

  571. does that very well. She looks like the

  572. whole sky is falling and she's like look

  573. we can repaint it.

  574. I'm just like, "No,

  575. but she shouldn't be like that, y'all."

  576. Cuz she doesn't come from a family that

  577. thinks like that.

  578. I'm a lot like my grandmother

  579. and me and my grandma. But that's before

  580. I have the mind of Christ. Okay. No, my

  581. grandma has the mind of Christ, too.

  582. She's being transformed, too. She's

  583. 80some and she's still being

  584. transformed. But me and my grandma will

  585. look at each other and then we'll just

  586. gang up on her like what are you talking

  587. about? Let's talk about all the

  588. impossibilities and we'll start naming

  589. all the impossib. But the truth is she

  590. was thinking like Christ

  591. >> and we were not.

  592. Christ looks at the dust and he sees

  593. you.

  594. He looks He looks at the void and he

  595. sees space and he sees stars and he sees

  596. the earth and he sees the universe. He

  597. sees we see nothing and he sees endless

  598. possibilities of create creativity and

  599. he wants to impart that to us.

  600. And that's something that I have learned

  601. is that when something doesn't unfold

  602. the way that I wish it had unfolded.

  603. I refuse to go down the roller coaster

  604. of emotions and I grab it and I'm like,

  605. "Okay, hold up. I trust this God

  606. and he has never failed me

  607. >> and he will never fail me. So no matter

  608. what this situation, this impossibility

  609. that I'm facing, literally nothing is

  610. impossible for him. And if I believe

  611. that, then why would I be worried?

  612. >> Then why would I be burdened? But the

  613. problem is we're trying to do stuff in

  614. our own strength.

  615. >> We're trying to build our own promise

  616. with our own hands. And remember, if the

  617. Lord doesn't build the house, the labors

  618. labor in vain. So you over here wasting

  619. time. And we don't have time to waste.

  620. We got to be joyful. We got to be

  621. exuberant. We got to be the light and

  622. the salt. We got to get up and have the

  623. mind of Christ. We got to transform

  624. every area that we walk in. We got to do

  625. something.

  626. We can't just manufacture something. We

  627. got to partner with the spirit of God.

  628. And we got to see what is the solution

  629. to every problem because there is one

  630. creatively in Christ Jesus.

  631. And I just love that we can be so

  632. overwhelmed by God, none of our problems

  633. have the authority over our hearts.

  634. >> I literally always remember Stephen in

  635. the New Testament, the moment he was

  636. getting stoned, he was having a vision.

  637. He was having a vision of the

  638. heavenlies. He was having a vision of

  639. Christ. Do you know how annoying that is

  640. for someone who wants you dead and you

  641. still thinking about God and you still

  642. have a smile on your face?

  643. The enemy cannot stop the people of God

  644. when they have the mind of Christ.

  645. Because nothing in this earth can deter

  646. us because we are so consumed with the

  647. heavens. We are so consumed with the

  648. eternal that the temporary does not even

  649. bother us.

  650. We have that authority, y'all. I'm not

  651. just talking to talk. This is legit

  652. eternal word of God I am bringing to

  653. you. And I hope that you are receiving

  654. this because this will change your life.

  655. This has changed my life.

  656. The joy of the Lord can transform your

  657. whole paradigm.

  658. >> So when you see a giant, all of Israel

  659. are cowarding in fear. But then David

  660. has the mind of Christ. He's like, "Who

  661. is this? Do you know the God we serve

  662. and he's he comes and he talks the best

  663. trash talk I've ever heard in my life?"

  664. He talks the best trash talk. And you

  665. know what? He defeated the giant. Not

  666. because David was some sort of like huge

  667. person. He was like a teenager, you

  668. know, we all know what he was probably

  669. looking like. But it was because he had

  670. faith.

  671. >> He had faith and trust in the Lord and

  672. lean not on his own understanding and he

  673. literally had the mind of Christ where

  674. he believed nothing was impossible for

  675. God. It is it is well time for us to

  676. stop looking at impossible situations

  677. and coward in fear like all the rest of

  678. Israel. But there has to be a spirit of

  679. David, a different spirit like Caleb or

  680. like Daniel who had an excellent spirit

  681. that falls on us today on Pentecost

  682. Sunday. And that we would be different

  683. and we would have the mind of Christ. We

  684. would think different. We would walk

  685. different. We would talk different. And

  686. people will notice it. People will

  687. notice it

  688. >> because the earth is groaning for the

  689. sons of God to appear.

  690. >> So boring, miserable Christianity is in

  691. the past.

  692. >> It's the mind of Christ. It's a new

  693. creation in Christ Jesus. That's the

  694. that's the moment that we are in right

  695. now. And we get to either step in it out

  696. of obedience and faith or we can lack

  697. faith and just stay in a victim

  698. traumatic brain mentality and not allow

  699. the Holy Spirit to heal us and we'll

  700. just stay miserable and we'll stay

  701. useless. Do you know those 10 spies who

  702. had that mentality didn't get to possess

  703. the promised land? Their the spirit of

  704. their mind stopped them from being able

  705. to possess what God had them to possess.

  706. >> Right? So because you have a different

  707. spirit and you have the mind of Christ,

  708. you can possess what God has said you

  709. can possess.

  710. Nothing can stop us if we walk in that

  711. faith. And so right where you are, I

  712. would just love for you to stand to your

  713. feet. And there might be some of you who

  714. like, I don't even have Jesus in my

  715. heart to begin with. We want to start

  716. there because you can't have the mind of

  717. Christ if you don't even believe that

  718. Christ is your Lord and Savior. You

  719. can't even transform. You can't even

  720. become a new creation if it's not

  721. through Christ.

  722. And so this is important for us to

  723. believe in his death and his

  724. resurrection.

  725. If we believe, he who the son sets free

  726. is free indeed.

  727. That is so exciting.

  728. That means you stay free. You're kept

  729. free. You don't run back to slavery. You

  730. are kept free from sin. You are kept

  731. free from shame. You walk in victory

  732. because the Holy Spirit emboldens you.

  733. The Holy Spirit empowers you. The Holy

  734. Spirit reveals the truth to you. And

  735. you're not going to go back to believing

  736. a lie when you have the Holy Spirit

  737. residing in your mind.
