Amen. Well, thank you. Good morning,

church. How is everybody this morning?

Why don't you look to the person sitting

next to you and tell them, "God looks

good on you." God looks good on you.

Come on. Look the other way. Look behind

you. Tell them, "God looks good on you."

Well, it's my great privilege and honor

to share in the word with you this

morning. It's my second time preaching

here at the North Charleston uh North

Palm campus. and uh every time I get to

share in the ministry of the word, I

find it a privilege and a great grace

and uh do that with great fear before

the Lord. Uh and so this is an amazing

place to get to preach and teach the

word of God. And we have such amazing

leaders. Uh Apostle Mark, Apostle

Patricia, I thank you for the

opportunity to share to the congregation

this morning. And I'm just excited about

what God is doing. Why don't we just

thank uh amazing leaders that we have?

[applause]

I shared last time I was here that I

feel like I'm learning so much by being

a part of this family and this movement.

And so I honor you for your leadership

and uh how I am growing personally in

this family. And so I'm going to share

with you a word uh titled built for the

last days today. And I I I I don't take

my opportunity lightly because as I look

upon this room, I'm getting to know many

of you. And I know that many of you are

very seasoned and mature and strong in

the Lord. And so I find this a great

opportunity to share. So everybody say,

"Built for the last days."

>> You know, right in this very moment,

more than any other time I can think of

in my life, am I more convinced? Is it

more clear to me impressing upon my

heart that the day of the Lord is

imminent? I had a lunch with Apostle

Mark a couple of weeks ago or breakfast

rather and he began to share some things

that were really important to him and

what he felt were fundamental and how

God was uh putting message in his heart

and through his ministry. And one of

those key fundamental things that he

shared was that he was he was burdened

with the reality of the day of the Lord.

And as I began to hear that and pray and

process that, it became more and more

real to me. And even through the worship

this morning became more and more real

to me that you and I are a people

standing at the edge of the day of the

Lord. We are a people built for the last

days. Where I'm going to be in this

sermon this morning, in this time

together, is I'm going to be mostly an

exposition of second Timothy. I believe

second Timothy offers to us a great

picture and reality of what it looks

like to be built for the last days. See

this letter in second Timothy many of

you probably know happens to be what

scholars would would would identify as

the last letter the final charge the

final work of the Apostle Paul to the

church. So it's a very important letter.

It's profound. And I believe that the

Apostle Paul is giving this final

message to you and I as he's sitting in

a Roman prison, right? He he's waiting

to be executed. And he's sitting and

he's pinning and preparing his final

words that he would leave with all of

those of the church and of the way. This

final letter is not written to a city.

It's not written to a specific group of

people, but it's actually addressed to a

spiritual son. It's addressed to

Timothy. Now others are involved in the

information, the content given in the

letter, but it is strategically written

to his spiritual son Timothy. And I

believe that implies to you and I that

this letter uh regulates a generational

handoff. It it it it begins to share

some of the most important content that

the Apostle Paul can possibly give to

the hearers and to the readers of the

word for generations to come. And what

we see him writing is we see that he's

indicating that that what is coming

after him is a reality that there's

going to be a people that would take on

the perspective they are built for the

last days. There are people who who who

who would who would uh come to a place

and say you know what there there is

something happening through the coming

of the Lord in my life. There's

something happening through the coming

of the Lord in my generation that makes

me of the impression I was built for

last days. Somebody say, I was built for

the last days.

The Apostle Paul makes reference to the

to the last days 11 times in second

Timothy. It's a it's something that he

is consistently communicating throughout

this letter. Now, I do not see this

letter mostly theological about the last

days, nor uh do I feel uh prepared this

morning to give you a theological uh

sermon or teaching on the last days. But

what I do see through this letter is a

display of the Apostle Paul's revelation

of his personal uh response to what it

means to be a person built for the last

days. He he he is teaching and he is

encouraging you and I through the letter

how to embody the characteristics of the

Lord in a moment of reflection that this

could very well be the last days.

So whether living in 60 AD when this

letter is written or living in 2026,

we are called to live a life on the edge

of the last days. We are called to live

our life as though the Lord could come

tomorrow. Now that's a sobering

challenge, isn't it? to live my to live

this life, breath and life and lungs and

resources and time and family and

people, relationships to live the full

context of our life as though the Lord

could come tomorrow.

That should sober us. It should

challenge us in every aspect of our

life. Right? It should challenge us in

the way we spend our time and the way we

spend our money and the way we hold our

relationships and and the way we nurture

and care for our heart that should

challenge us in every facet of life. The

reality that the Lord could come

tomorrow. So whether you're here this

morning and you can adapt a mindset that

says, you know what, we very well could

be a generation of people that see the

appearing and the coming of the Lord in

our generation. We could very well be a

people built for the last days. Or you

can adapt a mindset that says, you know

what, life is short and surely I have

last days. And and if life is short,

then every opportunity that I have with

my life has got to be well spent. I've

got to spend my time well. I've got to

spend my resources well. I've got to

spin the oil of my life well. And so you

and I this morning are going to reflect

on what does it look like to be a people

built for the last days. If you go to

chapter 3, starting in verse one, you

will see the Apostle Paul offers a

picture of what last days living looks

like. Now, we know we see parts of

scripture that talks about wars and

rumors of war and nation rises against

nation. But this picture of these times

of the ends, end of days and the end of

time is a little bit different that the

Apostle Paul has in second Timothy. He

he has a little bit different of a

picture and a revelation of what those

times looked like if you want to go with

me. Chapter 1 uh chapter 3 rather verse

one reads like this. But realize this

that in the last days difficult times

will come. Pay careful attention to the

description he gives for difficult

times. For men will be lovers of self.

Lovers of money, boastful, arrogant,

slanderers,

disobedient to parents, ungrateful,

unholy, unloving,

irreconcilable,

uh, malicious gossips, without

self-control,

brutal haters of good, treacherous,

reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure

rather than lovers of God holding to a

form, pay attention, of godliness,

although they have denied its power.

Avoid such men as these, for among them

are those who enter households and on

and on. But those descriptives

tell us something about perilous times,

the Bible calls it. And it's not

NECESSARILY THE PERIL the perils and the

perilous times of nation against nation

and rumors of war, BUT IT'S THE PERILOUS

TIMES OF THE DEPRIVATION of humanity.

It's perilous times of the decay of the

human heart. It's perilous times OF

PEOPLE WHO COME AND LOVE SELF OVER GOD

WHO SEEK SELF WHO BECOME SELF-CONCEITED

AND THEY'RE ALL ABOUT THE SELF LIFE AND

LIVING any way that they WANT TO LIVE

AND NOT THE way that God instructs his

beautiful priceless creation to live.

This picture of the end of days, the

last days IS SOMETHING THAT I believe

you and I can look upon and survey upon

the condition OF HUMANITY AND SAY,

"YEAH, WE MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DEALING WITH

THAT. WE MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DEALING WITH

A spirit of greed that consumes

humanity. We might actually be dealing

with w with with this boastful, PROUD,

ARROGANT GENERATION. WE MIGHT ACTUALLY

BE DEALING WITH THESE perilous times.

Can you relate?

There's something about this picture the

Apostle Paul gives that challenges you

and I this morning to say, YOU KNOW

WHAT? WE ARE A PEOPLE BUILT FOR THE LAST

DAYS. And we are are that glorious

church that's going to rise UP AGAINST

ALL OF THAT PERILOUS conditions of

humanity. And we are going to be a

people who are going to see the kingdom

of God reign and rise above and every

HUMAN HEART ON PLANET EARTH TO COME to

the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus.

And we're going to see the the earth

come to a place of great repentance,

great revival, a great restoration, a

great reformation of humanity.

We are those people. The apostle Paul

continues on and he releases three

critical burdens three key burdens that

you we we can see from the scripture

from the letter that are important to

his heart. The first one we find in 2

2 Timothy 1:13

Timothy 1 verse 13 and 14 says this hold

fast the pattern of sound words which

you have heard from me in faith and love

which are in Christ Jesus. that good

thing which was committed to you, keep

by the Holy Spirit who dwells in you.

The first burden the Apostle Paul has is

the burden to guard the gospel. That in

the last days, there's a there's a

church that RISES UP WITH HIGH standards

in in their generation WITH HIGH

STANDARDS AROUND GUARDING the truth of

the gospel. There's a people who come to

salvation AND COME TO THE REVELATION and

the conviction that it is my

responsibility,

MY GENERATION, my responsibility.

Somebody say that with me. My

generation, my responsibility. There's a

conviction that comes over God's people

that says, YOU KNOW WHAT? IT'S MY

RESPONSIBILITY

TO GUARD THE GOSPEL IN MY GENERATION.

And every opportunity THAT I HAVE TO

[screaming] GUARD THAT GOSPEL, I'M GOING

TO TAKE IT. I'M NOT GOING TO BE PASSIVE

WITH MY FAITH. I'M NOT GOING TO BE

WEAKHEARTED WITH MY FAITH. I'M NOT GOING

TO BECOME DISTRACTED WITH MY FAITH. I AM

GOING TO BE A PROTECTOR OF THE FAITH. I

AM GOING COME ON. YOU'VE GOT TO GET IT

IN YOUR HEART THAT [screaming] I AM

DESTINED AND BUILT FOR THE LAST DAYS.

AND I'M CALLED TO BE ONE WHO GUARDS THE

GOSPEL. IT'S MY GENERATION. IT'S MY

RESPONSIBILITY.

WE ARE CALLED [screaming] FOR THIS.

THERE IS A QUICKENING IN SECOND TIMOTHY

THAT COMES UPON US AND SAYS, "THERE

MIGHT BE A BURDEN OR TWO THAT I'M GOING

TO LAY ON YOU THAT YOU WOULD CARRY WITH

ME.

I'VE BEEN STUDYING ABOUT MANTELS a bit

and reading about men and women of God

carrying mantels and there WAS A MAN

NAMED DAVID WILKERSON. David Wilkerson

was responsible for Teen Challenge

running with Nikki Cruz and that group

and and this great massive movement of

deliverance and FREEDOM FROM ADDICTION.

WHAT HAPPENED IN DAVID WILKERSON was the

burden of the Lord. He received the

Lord's burden TO SEE A GENERATION

LIBERATED AND SET FREE FROM THE POWER OF

ADDICTION. YOU AND I ARE GOING TO BE

DYNAMIC, POWERFUL, uh full of authority

believers when we make A DECISION TO

TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND THE BURDEN

OF THE LORD TO GUARD THE GOSPEL IN OUR

GENERATION. SOMEBODY SAY, "I'LL GUARD

IT." I'LL GUARD IT.

The second burden we see from the

Apostle Paul is in chapter 1 verse 6. It

says this, "Therefore, I remind you to

stir up the gift of God which is in you

through the laying on of hands." THE

APOSTLE PAUL IS THINKING ABOUT HIS

spiritual son Timothy and he's saying to

him, he's thinking, he's reflecting,

he's looking back on life, and he's

saying, "You know what? I pray that

Timothy will never let the zeal come out

of him. I pray that Timothy will never

let the fan I will never let the flame

of his heart grow dim. He will fan that

flame. HE WILL STIR THAT GIFT. HE WILL

BE COMMITTED. HE will be He will be

LOCKED IN ON WHAT GOD HAS CALLED HIM TO

DO. IS THERE ANYBODY HERE THIS MORNING

THAT SAYS, "YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M I I CAN

RESONATE THAT THAT MAYBE I'M GOING TO

STIR THAT GIFT YET AGAIN. THAT MAYBE I'M

GOING TO FAN THE FLAME OF MY HEART YET

AGAIN. THAT I'M GOING TO GO TO THE END

WITH PASSION. I'M GOING TO MAKE IT TO

THE END WITH ZEAL. I'M NOT GOING TO GET

FAIN AND WEARY AND GET TROUBLESOME BY

THE THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD, BUT I'M

GOING TO GO THE DISTANCE WITH GOD. I

DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU THIS MORNING, BUT I

NEED TO STIR THE FAITH. I NEED TO STIR

THE GIFT IN ME. I NEED TO FAN THE FLAME

DAILY. I NEED TO WAKE UP AND I NEED TO

SAY, "GOD, I BELONG TO YOU. MY LIFE IS

NOT MY OWN. I'M DESTINED AND BUILT FOR

THE LAST DAYS."

THERE'S A BURDEN IN PAUL FOR HIS

SPIRITUAL SONS. AND AS I LOOK AT OUR

LEADERS, I'M SURE THERE'S A BURDEN IN

THEM WITH A HOUSE FULL OF TIMOTHIES.

COME ON, SOMEBODY. YOU KNOW, HE HE I'M

SURE THERE'S A BURDEN THAT SAYS THEY

THEY'VE GOT TO CARRY THE LEGACY. THEY'VE

GOT TO CARRY THE PASSION. THEY GOT TO

CARRY THE DETERMINATION. THEY GOT TO

CARRY THE GRIT.

Come on, man. WE WE ARE BUILT FOR THE

LAST DAYS. And we've GOT TO BE A PEOPLE

WHO KEEP THAT THAT FLAME READY THAT THAT

STIR THAT GIFT REGULARLY THAT DON'T LET

THE THINGS OF GOD THAT HAVE BEEN

DEPOSITED AND IMPARTED to us lay

dormant.

This is a burden from Paul. It says stir

the gift within you Timothy and to

successive generations.

Stir the gift. Stir the gift of the

spirit. Stir the gift of faith.

St. Stir the gift of obedience.

Stir that grace in your life. The third

burden we can see from this letter in

second Timothy is in chapter 4 verse 7.

Apostle Paul says this. I have fought

the good fight of faith. I have finished

the race. I have kept the faith. There's

that burden to finish strong. Anybody in

here this morning that just says, "You

know what? I need renewal.

I've been running the race, but I need

renewal. I need to be strengthened. I

need to be prepared for the next leg of

the journey." I believe that's what's

happening this morning. That the spirit

of the Lord is coming over your life.

Yay. Even now, to say, "I'm

strengthening you so that you can run

strong again. I'm strengthening you so

that you can go the distance. I will not

let you come up short. I will not let

you fall short of the finish line. We're

going to run the race to the finish

because we are built for the last days.

There needs to be a renewal over the

body again of MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD WHO

STAND THE TEST OF TIME, who make it to

the end. THIS DAY OF MORAL FAILURE AND

FALLOUT AND DROPOUT IS OVER. YOU AND I

HAVE GOT TO RISE UP AND SAY, "WE HAVE

BEEN DESTINED FOR THE LAST DAYS, AND WE

WILL RUN AND FINISH the race strong."

I got this thing in my shirt. I

shouldn't have done it, Matt. It's back

there. I put it in there.

Six portraits.

See what happens after we look at these

burdens is we can see the apostle Paul

begins to talk about what type of man or

woman of God can accomplish these things

can fulfill and live through these

burdens. And he gives us six pictures

examples or portraits of what that looks

like. The first uh portrait of a

faithful follower built for the last

days that second Timothy offers you and

I is the picture or the portrait of a

soldier.

Reads like this. Second Timothy 2 3 and

4. You therefore must somebody say must.

You must endure

hardship. Somebody say hardship.

As a good s soldier of Jesus Christ, no

one engaged in warfare

entangles himself with the affairs of

this life that he may please the one who

enlisted him as a soldier. The Apostle

Paul invites you and I in second Timothy

into a moment of imagination and a

moment of reflection that you might see

yourself as an enlisted one. That you

might see yourself as a soldier in the

army of the Lord. And then he begins to

give us a few details about what does it

look like to be a soldier. First, HE

SAYS THAT A soldier should expect

hardship. NOW, SOLDIERS ARE TRAINED,

aren't they, uh to to be uh okay in

uncomfortable situations. They're

equipped and trained to manage dynamic,

difficult, challenging situations and

maintain composure.

So, as a people built for the last days

and a people a part of a growing

advancing movement, we are going to have

to be accustomed to be able to manage

challenging dynamics, aren't we? I'm

just preaching to me this morning and

you get to listen.

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO LEARN to take on

the soldier mentality and say, you know

what, not everything's going to be

comfortable. Not everything's going to

be easy. Not everything's going to go my

way. All the conditions AREN'T GOING TO

LINE UP for me just right. WE KNOW THAT

THAT THERE'S SOMETHING ALSO articulated

from the apostle Paul here that we uh

must not be entangled with the affairs

of this life. What is he telling you?

He's telling you you may not [screaming]

live like everybody else. If you're a

burning one for Jesus, if you're a

soldier in the army of the Lord, you may

not live LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE. IT MIGHT

REQUIRE OF YOU some resistance TOWARDS

THE AFFAIRS OF THIS LIFE that other

PEOPLE DON'T RESIST. YOUR LIFE MIGHT

CONDITIONALLY LOOK DIFFERENT. YOU'RE

GOING TO HAVE TO RESIST getting

entangled in the affairs of this world.

We also know soldiers must be extremely

focused. THEY'VE GOT TO GET IN on the

target, get in on the mission, get in on

the assignment, and not let distractions

in. When you see a sniper right there,

there's probably some military guys in

the room. And when that sniper is locked

in on THAT TARGET, NO DISTRACTIONS ARE

COMING HIS WAY. ALL I want to know this

morning, is there anybody laser focused

on the mission of God? Is there anybody

locked in with God saying, "I'm a

soldier of the LORD AND I WILL not be

distracted."

The soldier mentality also uh tells us

through scripture that we've got to seek

to please come on the master and the

chief of our faith, the one who has

enlisted us. We've got to have that

mindset. My life, not my own. When you

get enlisted into the army, you you No,

YOU'RE YOU'RE NOT YOURS ANYMORE, are

you? You when you get enlisted into the

military, you become a soldier, YOU ARE

[screaming] owned by that uniform. And

there's something about you and I

saying, "My life, not my own. My

decisions, I've got to submit them to

God. My priorities, I've got to submit

them to God. I am not my own." See, the

last days will require a people who do

not live for personal preference, who do

not live for personal comfort, but have

made a decision that cute, comfortable,

convenient Christianity will not get the

job done. We for too long have built

churches.

If I have liberty

that create atmospheres

that are comfortable

for the unbeliever

instead of creating atmospheres

that are comfortable for the spirit of

God, WE'VE GOT TO CREATE A THIS CHURCH,

not one of those churches. Thank you,

Lord. Amen. We're we're a church going

for the presence. You know that new

song, the presence is my priority. Love

that. Come on. There's but there's

something over a generation that says

we've got to quicken and realize we've

got to create comfortable spaces for the

Lord if it's going to be his house.

Amen.

Second portrait we see given by the

Apostle Paul in second Timothy of a

faithful follower built for the last

days is that of an athlete. Now, this

one really appeals to me. If you know

anything about me, I'm slightly

competitive. Just a little bit. Not

much. Just just a little competitive. He

he gives the example of an athlete. Uh

chapter 2 verse 5. And also if anyone

competes in athletics, he is not crowned

unless he competes according to the

the rules.

desire,

good intentions,

not sufficient

for a for for a last days saint.

Good intentions is not going to be

sufficient, friends. The desire alone is

not going to be sufficient. Pleading

ignorance is not going to be sufficient

because you have everything

you need. YOU HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD

dwelling in you, witnessing to you,

giving you truth. You have scripture

that tells you everything you need to

know. We cannot we can't plead ignorance

for year after year after year after

year. We are required to grow.

So athletics, right, we we know THAT

THAT THAT DESIRE IS NOT ENOUGH. IF

YOU'RE GOING TO BE A strong athlete, you

got to you got to pay attention TO THE

RULES, BUT YOU got to be DISCIPLINED TO

GROW. GOOD athletes keep getting better

and better and better. Uh character is

going to matter. God's methods are going

to matter more than our opinions, more

than our preferences.

The athlete mindset is one that has

detailed dependency on the instructions

from the word of God and the spirit

dwelling in us moment by moment giving

us insights to the rules of engagement

of a spiritfilled life for a last days

believer.

I was thinking about this a little bit

as well as I think about rules. Rules

are interesting because rules create

restrictions

but rules also give advantages.

Rule rules are not restrictive only,

right? Uh I I've got a rule IN THE GAME

OF MONOPOLY. When I pass go, I get

that's a rule. If I didn't know that

rule, THEN I'D BE BROKE every time I go

around and I wouldn't have no park

place. I wouldn't have I wouldn't have

what I wouldn't EVERYBODY WOULD BE GET

that's a rule of engagement. SO SO NOT

all rules are restrictive. Some rules

advance us and accelerate us. YOU KNOW

THAT THAT'S THAT REALITY THAT SAYS

WEAPONS MIGHT FORM against me but they

won't prosper. THERE'S A RULE BUILT INTO

MY LIFE. SO, IF I'M GOING TO RUN THIS

LAST DAYS, BUILT FOR LAST DAYS RACE,

I'VE GOT TO KNOW WHAT THE rules of

engagement are. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT

BENEFITS that are uh geared towards my

life that have been given to me by God.

And I need to know WHAT GOD SAYS. THAT'S

A DANGER ZONE.

That's a blessing zone

that'll kill you.

That'll give you life.

THAT'LL DETOUR YOU.

THAT'LL KEEP YOU ON THE PATH. I NEED TO

KNOW those rules of engagement like an

athlete. Also, we see here in the fourth

picture.

The third, no, this is my third.

The third picture [laughter]

in second Timothy is that of a farmer.

The apostle Paul relates this built for

last days believer uh to a farmer. He

says in chapter 2 6, the hardworking

farmer must first partake of the crops.

Now we might see that and think, oh, the

workman's worthy of his wage. The way

that I interpret that is that if I'm

going to be a farmer and I'm going to

relate that to my spiritual life, I'm

going to produce something. We I'm going

to produce content. I'm going to produce

messages. I'm going to produce podcasts.

I'm going to produce sermons. I'm going

to produce songs. Whatever I'm giving

fruit to and producing, I must first eat

of that. So, I must practice what I

preach. I must be able to eat of that

fruit before I distribute that fruit. So

there's a compelling uh sense OF THE

APOSTLE PAUL SAYING YOU YOU need to live

what you're teaching. You you need to

embody that because that's where

authority comes from. Truth will be

truth. It's uninterruptible. But

authority comes through adherence to

truth. Fourthly,

the minister or the worker. Denise is

looking at me because she said, "You'll

never get through all those notes." You

were right, sister.

>> [laughter]

>> the minister and the worker. Some

translations call this example or this

portrait a minister. Some call it a

worker. 2 Timothy 2:15, "Be diligent to

2 Timothy 2:15

present yourself approved to God. A

worker who does not need to be ashamed,

rightly dividing the word of truth."

This worker, this minister is one who

handles the word of God with great

delicacy, with great conviction. It's

one who loves the word. It's one who's

in love with the word, who's in love

with scripture. They study before they

speak. They they weigh their opinions

before God. Too many opinion-driven

uh preferenced driven uh Christian

perspectives. Huh? We've got to weigh it

by the word. Somebody say, "Weigh it by

the word."

>> See, the worker is seeking God's

approval, not man's applause. The

workers worker is handling truth

accurately with mercy. The worker equips

others through scripture. And a and

fifthly, the fifth portrait we see that

the apostle Paul gives in second Timothy

of this faithful follower

of a last days believer is the vessel.

Some translations might call it a

container. This is where we position

ourselves useful to the master.

Chapter 2 verse 20 and 22. But in a

great house there are not only vessels

of gold and silver but also of wood and

clay, some for honor and some for

dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses

himself from the latter, he will be a

vessel for honor, sanctified and useful

for the master, prepared for every good

work. Flee also youthful us, but pursue

righteousness, faith, love, peace with

those who call on the Lord have a pure

heart. We see that from this scripture,

purity

will precede

usefulness in God. We can learn from

this scripture that consecration

will determine and increase our

capacity.

We can't liberally take part of

everything the world offers and expect

at the same time to be extraordinarily

useful to God. We've got to create

consecration

in our life. Being used by God will

always be related to our ability to

consecrate and set ourselves apart.

essential to being a vessel.

Implying that

God is going to pour himself out through

me

means that he must first

fill me.

This container has got to get filled up

with God before it can get spilled out

by God. See, when we consecrate and set

ourselves apart and we we we're we're a

one of a honorable vessel, we we allow

ourselves to be filled by God so that he

can pour himself out through us. The

sixth and final portrait is that of a

servant.

Chapter 2 24- 26. And a servant of the

Lord must not quarrel,

but be gentle to all, able to teach,

patient in humility,

correcting those who are in opposition.

If God perhaps will grant them

repentance so they may know the truth

and that they may come to their senses

and escape the snare of the devil,

having been taken captive by him to do

his will. See, servants are gentle.

Servants are patient. Servants live in

humility. Uh servants seek. this servant

and in the last days servant he's

seeking to restore

people to God. There's a conviction that

my life is to others and to see them

restored to God. We also know that this

servant well he withstands error. The

servant is not passive is not weak. the

servant I I is convicted about godliness

and should stand

against opposition of that godliness in

its in their generation.

So I want to just in closing

draw our attention to two final thoughts

that the Apostle Paul gives in second

Timothy. The there's a tone to this

letter that's really important for us to

reflect on in closing.

First tone we can get is that this

letter is urgent. The Apostle Paul is

communicating

urgency. There's urgency for you and I.

I believe the conviction is true this

morning that there's an urgency to have

our heart right before the Lord. That

there is an urgency for our families.

There's an urgency for humanity. There's

an urgency for salvation.

There's an urgency for repentance.

There's an urgency for reconciliation in

relationships. There's an urgency in you

and I. And the Apostle Paul is giving

that urgent message to you and I. And I

just shared this morning and invite you

into a place of reflection. What is God

calling you to move with urgency on

the second one takes us all the way back

to the opening of the chapter when the

Apostle Paul starts the initial address

of the message. He he he reveals two

critical things about a people built for

the end times.

He says, "I'm thankful to God for whom I

worship with a pure heart."

The end times church is marked by

worship.

Secondly, he addresses Timothy and he

says,"Timothy,

I remember

your tears."

See, there's a spilling open. There's a

breaking open of the end times, church.

There's a picture of a people in the end

times

that worship

and weep their way into the arms of a

generous God who is longing to return.
