  1. Alright, this morning I want to talk to you about building a living model.

  2. ! Building a living model.

  3. This last Friday, May 1st, was our two-year anniversary of our church, for those who don't know.

  4. And as we look forward to the years ahead, I want to talk to you about this concept of a living model.

  5. Before I do that, I want to just briefly tell a little story here about the four-minute mile,

  6. by way of introduction.

  7. Some of you guys know this, but for years, so many athletes had tried and failed to run a mile in less than four minutes.

  8. And actually, even doctors and such made it out to be a physical impossibility.

  9. Are you familiar with this at all?

  10. They literally said, this can't be done.

  11. You cannot run less than a four-minute mile.

  12. On May 6, 1954, in Oxford, England, Roger Bannister became the first person to do it.

  13. Finishing in three minutes, 59.4 seconds.

  14. He did it, right? I thought it couldn't be done.

  15. Two months later, John Landy ran a mile in under four minutes in a race he lost to Bannister.

  16. Steve Scott has run 136 sub-four-minute miles in his lifetime.

  17. In 1997, Daniel Komen of Kenya ran two miles in less than eight minutes.

  18. Doubling up on Bannister's accomplishment, the current record is held by Hikam El-Garaj,

  19. who ran a time of three minutes, or three, yes, three minutes, 43.13 seconds.

  20. Okay, in 1999.

  21. According to World Athletic Statistics, the four-minute barrier has been broken by just over 2,000 athletes.

  22. Okay?

  23. So, for so long, a four-minute mile was never accomplished, and then in the 70 years after,

  24. the record's blown to smithereens.

  25. What happened?

  26. What happened?

  27. This quick glance at history would lead you to believe that it was impossible to run a four-minute mile

  28. prior to May 6, 1954, but after May 6, 1954, it somehow became possible.

  29. But we know that's not true, right?

  30. It wasn't some miracle that happened on May 6, 1954, where all of a sudden, the impossible became possible,

  31. some kind of magic that he performed.

  32. It wasn't impossible before May 6, 1954.

  33. It was just invisible.

  34. It was just invisible.

  35. No one had seen it done before.

  36. The impossible is made possible when the invisible is made visible.

  37. Okay?

  38. On May 6, 1954, the impossible was made visible by one, making it possible for many.

  39. This is true for so much more than running.

  40. And today, I want to look at how it's true with the church.

  41. Okay?

  42. I've heard so many people say they've never seen certain things in a local church.

  43. You ever had these conversations?

  44. I remember a very discouraging conversation I had with my family on a trip up to Wisconsin years ago.

  45. And they all started saying all these things that they've never seen in a church.

  46. And then went on to say that they never would.

  47. And I'm thinking, wait a minute.

  48. Hold up.

  49. Says who?

  50. Well, it says all of them.

  51. And they were pretty convinced of it.

  52. And I'm telling them, I'm like, no.

  53. I've seen it.

  54. What you're saying is impossible.

  55. I've seen it.

  56. So they're all connecting around their unbelief.

  57. And I'm like, no, no, no.

  58. Hey, I've seen what you say is impossible.

  59. But the reason, none of them believe me.

  60. They kind of just kind of pushed me off.

  61. And I was like, good grief.

  62. But I get it.

  63. It's because they've never seen it.

  64. And the reason I have faith for it is because I have seen it.

  65. And it takes people to see something.

  66. And it takes people also to see it before it's seen.

  67. One of my favorite quotes, actually, is regarding Walt Disney.

  68. Walt Disney had this vision to build the Disney theme park in Orlando, right?

  69. But he died before it was finished.

  70. And there's a famous interaction between a reporter and Walt's brother.

  71. I think it was Roy.

  72. And they're standing in some place where they could oversee the whole park.

  73. And the reporter says to Roy, wow, if only Walt could have seen this.

  74. And Roy looks at him and says, if Walt didn't see this, it would have never existed.

  75. And again, this speaks of this seeing of something.

  76. Once you see it, now someone's got to see it.

  77. Bannister, with the four-minute mile, he believed it could happen even before it happened.

  78. But once he put it on display, over 2,000 other people now believe it's possible and have done it.

  79. And there's a lot of things in the Bible.

  80. There's a lot of things about the church that people don't believe.

  81. And one of the reasons they don't believe it is they've never seen it.

  82. And this is one of the great privileges of the local church.

  83. Not just that we could be a part of all the good things, like Samir has said.

  84. Things like adoption.

  85. Things like all the good things we have in Christ Jesus.

  86. But we can actually put on display invisible things.

  87. Things not visible to some people.

  88. We can experience them and make them visible.

  89. Make the invisible visible.

  90. So that the invisible becomes valuable.

  91. And so that the invisible, in the eyes of many, becomes possible.

  92. Do you believe this?

  93. I believe it.

  94. I've seen it happen.

  95. And I would love to see it happen in churches all over.

  96. I have a firm and strong belief that church can be done the way God wants it to be done.

  97. Why?

  98. Because it's his church.

  99. Because he says, I will build my church.

  100. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

  101. His church is invincible when it comes to hell.

  102. Now, if we build our own church and build our own way,

  103. yeah, I got no hope that that's going to last.

  104. I got no hope in man's movements.

  105. I got no hope that our version of church is going to overcome the gates of hell.

  106. But I believe that his church will.

  107. And if we build what he is building, that we will see that.

  108. And other people can see and have hope.

  109. So the question is, how do we make the invisible visible

  110. so that people believe that the invisible is possible?

  111. I want to look at very simple, just three things this morning.

  112. Okay.

  113. First one is, you have to care.

  114. Okay.

  115. You have to care specifically about the church.

  116. You have to have conviction.

  117. Okay.

  118. You'll never endure discomfort for something you don't have conviction about.

  119. Right.

  120. You'll never endure discomfort.

  121. And there is discomfort that is required to put on display the things that God wants to show forth in his church.

  122. But you'll never endure that discomfort if you don't first have conviction about what the church is supposed to be.

  123. For Christians, the best way to appropriate, to appropriately care about something is to know how much Christ cares for it.

  124. You follow me on that?

  125. The best way to have the appropriate care for something is know how much does Christ care about it.

  126. You know, Philippians 2.21 has this indictment that is spoken.

  127. It says,

  128. They all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

  129. Jesus Christ has things he's interested in.

  130. One of those things that he's interested in is the church being a certain way.

  131. There are specific things in the Bible that are referred to when talking about the church.

  132. It's not one thing.

  133. It's not two things.

  134. It's not five things.

  135. It's not ten things.

  136. I count at least 15 different things that the Bible says the church is.

  137. And for us to be convictional about what those things are and to say,

  138. Hey, it's not okay if these things aren't expressed through the local church.

  139. And I want to do everything I can to see that expressed.

  140. Because I care about the interests of Christ.

  141. If Christ is interested in these things, I'm interested in these things.

  142. Acts 20.28, when Paul was speaking to the Ephesian elders in Miletus,

  143. He said,

  144. Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers,

  145. to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

  146. That last phrase there is important.

  147. If we want to care rightly, correctly, for the church of God,

  148. one of the keys is just remembering,

  149. and this is part of the reason we take of the Lord's Table every week,

  150. is remembering what was the cost of the church.

  151. Care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

  152. When we see what it cost to receive the church,

  153. we start to value.

  154. We start to value it.

  155. If the cost of the church was the blood of Christ,

  156. it is a very valuable thing.

  157. Because we know the value of anything is what you pay for it.

  158. Someone says,

  159. Hey man, my house is worth this.

  160. And you walk through it and you're just like,

  161. You get ripped off, man.

  162. This is not worth this.

  163. No one else is going to pay this much for this.

  164. But if you look at the church, you'd say,

  165. What is the worth of the church?

  166. Why is the church worthy of our time?

  167. Why is the church worthy of our effort?

  168. Why is there worth in our putting in effort and sacrifice

  169. to see the church become what God says it's supposed to be?

  170. Why?

  171. Well, let's look at what was paid for it.

  172. The price of the church was the blood of Jesus.

  173. The sacrifice of the Son, the sinless Savior.

  174. When I look at it that way, I say,

  175. Oh my gosh, this is of great worth.

  176. Ephesians 5.25 says,

  177. Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

  178. The price of the church was Christ.

  179. The price of the church was Christ crucified.

  180. It's very valuable.

  181. What is of higher value than that?

  182. It truly is a pearl of great price.

  183. To say, well, Jesus thought the church was so valuable,

  184. he gave himself for her.

  185. And anyone who says that they love Jesus

  186. should walk as Jesus did.

  187. 1 John says this.

  188. And so, number one,

  189. in order to put these things on display,

  190. we've got to start with just caring.

  191. And I want to ask you, do you care?

  192. Do you care?

  193. And how much do you care?

  194. At the end of the day,

  195. I've had times in my life where I've been convicted,

  196. like, I don't care enough about what Jesus cares about.

  197. I don't care enough about what Jesus cared so much for

  198. that he gave his all for it.

  199. He paid for it with his very life.

  200. I want to care consistently

  201. with what the scriptures say is of great worth.

  202. And I would say there are,

  203. what would be of greater worth

  204. than that which Jesus gave himself for?

  205. So let me ask you the question,

  206. do you care about the church?

  207. Do you care appropriately?

  208. Is it just kind of a,

  209. well, you know, I get it.

  210. I'm a Christian.

  211. I should attend a church somewhere on a Sunday morning.

  212. Please.

  213. I'm looking around here.

  214. I know that the people in this room

  215. know better than that, right?

  216. You've been around enough to know

  217. that that's not what Christ has for us.

  218. Christ didn't die so that we could attend

  219. Sunday morning services.

  220. It's like, praise God, Jesus died

  221. so we have someplace to go on a Sunday morning.

  222. Jesus died so that I could fight with my spouse

  223. and argue with my kids and getting them dressed

  224. on a Sunday morning.

  225. Praise God.

  226. That was such a great thing that he did.

  227. That's not what he, that's not why he did it.

  228. It was so much more than that.

  229. I'm not saying that that's the soul.

  230. Some of that, you understand.

  231. But it's so much more than that.

  232. It's life together.

  233. It's a group of people.

  234. It's a people for his own possession, right?

  235. He died to purchase a people

  236. and that people would be his church.

  237. That people would be his bride.

  238. That people would be a family.

  239. That people would be light and salt.

  240. That people would be an army of soldiers.

  241. That people would be the people of God

  242. who are possessed by God, okay?

  243. So that's the first thing we gotta care.

  244. Number two, we gotta care about the right things.

  245. We gotta care about the right things.

  246. Okay?

  247. So we got three sub-points within the second point.

  248. Three things I think we need to care about

  249. when we're thinking about the church.

  250. Number one, there are three things

  251. that the church is to make known.

  252. Number one, and this is of utmost importance,

  253. is we have to care about the wisdom of God

  254. being made known.

  255. This comes from a very important verse in the Bible

  256. in Ephesians chapter 3, verses 8 through 11.

    Ephesians 3:8–11

  257. Listen as I read this scripture.

  258. To me though, this is Paul,

  259. I am the very least of all the saints.

  260. This grace was given to preach to the Gentiles

  261. the unsearchable riches of Christ

  262. and to bring to light for everyone

  263. what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God.

  264. Okay?

  265. Already you got my attention.

  266. You're gonna bring to light the plan of the mystery.

  267. This is something that people have been longing to know.

  268. The Bible says even angels longed to look into this.

  269. This is what the prophets could see partially

  270. but they didn't see it fully.

  271. This is what people have been longing to know

  272. all the way up until this point.

  273. This plan of God that was a mystery

  274. hidden for ages in God.

  275. Then it says,

  276. who created all things so that...

  277. Whoa, time out again.

  278. Again, he's about to tell us

  279. why he created all things.

  280. Does he have your attention?

  281. He's got my attention.

  282. Anytime God's about to say,

  283. hey, I'm not just...

  284. I want to tell you why he created all things.

  285. Okay?

  286. I'm listening.

  287. That's a big deal.

  288. Why you created all things.

  289. So he says,

  290. So the reason is what?

  291. So that through the church,

  292. the manifold wisdom of God

  293. may now be made known

  294. to the rulers and authorities

  295. in the heavenly places.

  296. So God had this plan

  297. hidden throughout the ages

  298. that the rulers and authorities

  299. in heavenly realms

  300. would know the wisdom of God

  301. through a particular entity

  302. called the church.

  303. And this was why

  304. all things were created.

  305. Oh, come on, Josh.

  306. I just read it, right?

  307. That's what it says.

  308. All things that were created

  309. so that a particular entity

  310. called the church,

  311. through that entity,

  312. rulers and authorities

  313. in heavenly places

  314. would know the wisdom of God.

  315. This was according to

  316. the eternal purpose

  317. that he has realized

  318. in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  319. We're talking eternal purpose.

  320. We're talking the reason

  321. earth was created.

  322. We're talking the mystery

  323. that has been hidden

  324. in ages in God.

  325. This is big deal stuff right here.

  326. Okay?

  327. Paul's unpacking quite a bit.

  328. And these, I mean,

  329. you could preach on this

  330. for a long time.

  331. This is big deal stuff.

  332. But it tells us,

  333. hey, number one,

  334. there's a wisdom

  335. that God wants to make known,

  336. which number one,

  337. what is the wisdom of God?

  338. The wisdom of God is what?

  339. Christ crucified.

  340. We see this in 1 Corinthians, right?

  341. God wants to display

  342. to not humans.

  343. So the eternal purpose

  344. is the ultimate test

  345. of whether or not

  346. we are just consumers

  347. in it for our own good

  348. because the eternal purpose

  349. has nothing to do with us.

  350. Do you hear that?

  351. He created the earth

  352. so that the church could exist

  353. to display the wisdom of God

  354. to us?

  355. No.

  356. To rulers and authorities

  357. in heavenly realms.

  358. Is that offensive to you?

  359. Hopefully it offends your pride.

  360. It was meant to.

  361. God is fully committed

  362. to offending your pride,

  363. by the way.

  364. He didn't create this

  365. to be displayed for us.

  366. We are supposed to,

  367. as the church,

  368. display wisdom.

  369. How do we do that?

  370. Through a crucified life.

  371. Through a life that is laid down

  372. for Jesus and for one another.

  373. The cross should be displayed

  374. through an entity called the church

  375. so that rulers and authorities

  376. in heavenly places

  377. would know the wisdom of God.

  378. This is a phenomenal thing.

  379. This is an awesome thing.

  380. Do you have a value

  381. for the wisdom of God

  382. being made known

  383. to entities far above us?

  384. Rulers and authorities

  385. in heavenly realms.

  386. That's one of the reasons

  387. why the church exists.

  388. This is the eternal purpose.

  389. This is the reason

  390. that all things were created,

  391. that through the church.

  392. Do you believe in that phrase,

  393. through the church?

  394. This is why we make such a big deal

  395. about the local church.

  396. Because the whole earth

  397. was created so that

  398. that entity could display something.

  399. So it's a big deal.

  400. It's a big deal.

  401. So that's the first thing.

  402. We have to care about

  403. the wisdom of God

  404. being made known.

  405. Number two,

  406. we should care about

  407. the character of God

  408. being made known.

  409. In other words,

  410. what is God like?

  411. Well, how do we know

  412. what God is like?

  413. Well, Jesus incarnated God.

  414. He is God.

  415. And then incarnated

  416. who God was

  417. into an actual human.

  418. Right?

  419. So that we could see

  420. what God was like.

  421. He says,

  422. if you've seen me,

  423. you've seen the Father.

  424. It says that Jesus

  425. is the exact representation

  426. of God.

  427. Okay?

  428. So he put on display

  429. what God was like.

  430. And when he rose

  431. from the dead

  432. and then ascended

  433. into heaven,

  434. do we have no longer

  435. any representation

  436. of Christ

  437. in the earth anymore?

  438. No.

  439. We still do.

  440. And what is it called?

  441. His body.

  442. What is his body?

  443. The church.

  444. Ephesians 1, 22-23

  445. says,

  446. The church,

  447. which is his body,

  448. the fullness of him

  449. who fills all in all.

  450. So God wants to fill up

  451. the world

  452. with this picture

  453. of who God is.

  454. He wants to fill it up

  455. with this entity

  456. called his body.

  457. Even though his physical body

  458. is no longer here,

  459. it ascended into heaven,

  460. he has his body

  461. still on the earth

  462. in this thing called

  463. the church.

  464. And through that,

  465. the fullness of him

  466. who fills all in all.

  467. He wants people to see

  468. what he is like

  469. now not through

  470. his actual physical body

  471. because he ascended.

  472. But he sent his spirit

  473. and filled up

  474. a group of people

  475. to now represent him.

  476. Right?

  477. Ephesians 2, 19-22

  478. says,

  479. You are members

  480. of the household of God

  481. built on the foundation

  482. of the apostles and prophets,

  483. Christ Jesus himself

  484. being the cornerstone

  485. in whom the whole structure

  486. being joined together

  487. grows into a holy temple

  488. in the Lord.

  489. In him you also

  490. are being built together

  491. into a dwelling place

  492. for God by the Spirit.

  493. So he wants the church

  494. to be built together.

  495. And we're not talking

  496. about a building itself.

  497. We're not talking about

  498. the walls of a building

  499. like this.

  500. We're talking about people

  501. being built together

  502. for what?

  503. To be a dwelling place

  504. for God by the Spirit

  505. so that people could see

  506. what God is like.

  507. 1 Corinthians 3, 16-17.

  508. And when you hear the word

  509. you in this verse,

  510. the Greek in that is plural.

  511. So it says,

  512. Do you not know

  513. that you, plural,

  514. are God's temple

  515. and that God's Spirit

  516. dwells in you?

  517. If anyone destroys

  518. God's temple,

  519. God will destroy him.

  520. For God's temple is holy

  521. and you, plural,

  522. are that temple.

  523. We are to be a temple

  524. that God inhabits.

  525. That people can see

  526. what God is like

  527. because they see

  528. his body on the earth

  529. in this temple.

  530. 1 John 4, verse 12

    1 John 4:12

  531. in the NIV says,

  532. No one has ever seen God,

  533. but if we love one another,

  534. God lives in us

  535. and his love

  536. is made complete in us.

  537. So what does that mean?

  538. From that verse,

  539. I can say,

  540. Your revelation

  541. of the love of God

  542. is incomplete

  543. apart from people.

  544. So if you want to be a hermit

  545. and go live in a monastery

  546. or go sit in a prayer room

  547. for all your time,

  548. you're missing it.

  549. It says,

  550. No one has ever seen God,

  551. but if we love one another,

  552. God lives in us

  553. and his love

  554. is made complete in us.

  555. Okay?

  556. Well, is God's love

  557. incomplete?

  558. No.

  559. He's not talking about

  560. his actual love.

  561. He's talking about

  562. the expression of it,

  563. the view of it

  564. is incomplete

  565. apart from real skin

  566. of like real people.

  567. Right?

  568. Real flesh and blood

  569. who are indwelt by God

  570. modeling who God is

  571. by the way they live

  572. in love.

  573. This is why we have

  574. verses like Romans 15, 7.

  575. Welcome one another.

  576. How?

  577. As Christ has welcomed you

  578. for the glory of God.

  579. When people are welcomed

  580. with Christ-like affection

  581. and love,

  582. they know what God is like

  583. because of how we welcome them.

  584. Colossians 3, 13 says,

  585. As the Lord has forgiven you,

  586. so also you must forgive.

  587. When we forgive others

  588. the way we've been forgiven,

  589. people are able to understand

  590. how Christ has forgiven them.

  591. Ephesians 5, 25 again says,

  592. Husbands, love your wives.

  593. How?

  594. As Christ loved the church

  595. and gave himself up for her.

  596. Marriage is putting on display

  597. how Christ loves his church.

  598. John 13, 34.

  599. Just as I have loved you,

  600. you also are to love one another.

  601. Being able to see how God loves

  602. because of how we love one another.

  603. John 15, 12 to 13.

  604. This is my commandment

  605. that you love one another.

  606. How?

  607. As I have loved you.

  608. Greater love has no one than this,

  609. than someone lay down his life

  610. for his friends.

  611. In 1 John 3, 16.

  612. By this we know love,

  613. that he laid down his life for us

  614. and we ought to lay down our lives

  615. for the brothers.

  616. Do you see this?

  617. The character of God being made known

  618. when we love one another

  619. as we've been loved.

  620. When we forgive one another

  621. as we've been forgiven.

  622. When we welcome one another

  623. as we've been welcomed.

  624. We end up being the body of Christ,

  625. being indwelt by God.

  626. The love of God is shed abroad

  627. into the hearts of those around us

  628. because they've seen it

  629. in a group of people.

  630. It's not theory.

  631. We're making the invisible visible.

  632. God is not visible.

  633. It says,

  634. No one has seen God,

  635. but when we love one another,

  636. God lives in us

  637. and his love is made complete in us.

  638. We are making visible the invisible

  639. so that people now have faith for it.

  640. The invisible made visible

  641. makes the invisible valuable.

  642. It makes the invisible possible.

  643. Wait a second.

  644. I could be loved this way?

  645. I never thought anyone could love me this way

  646. until,

  647. and I for sure never thought

  648. God could love me this way,

  649. until I saw his people love me

  650. the way God loves me.

  651. And it opened my eyes.

  652. It opened my heart.

  653. It helped me to experience something

  654. I had heard about,

  655. I had dreamed about,

  656. but I had never seen.

  657. Now that I've seen it,

  658. now that I've tasted of it,

  659. I'm in.

  660. I'm sold.

  661. And I want as many people as possible

  662. to experience what I've experienced.

  663. You see what I'm saying here?

  664. Number three,

  665. the kingdom of God made known.

  666. We have to care

  667. about the kingdom of God

  668. being made known.

  669. Essentially,

  670. seeing the church

  671. is like kingdom embassies.

  672. What is the kingdom like?

  673. 1 Peter 2 verse 9 says,

    1 Peter 2:9

  674. You're a holy nation.

  675. And Ephesians 2 verse 19 says,

    Ephesians 2:19

  676. You're no longer strangers and aliens,

  677. but you're fellow citizens

  678. with the saints

  679. and members of the household of God.

  680. Philippians 3 verse 20 says,

    Philippians 3:20

  681. Your citizenship is in heaven.

  682. So it's a group of people

  683. whose citizenship is in heaven,

  684. a holy nation of heavenly people.

  685. Okay?

  686. So think of it like,

  687. but we're living in a world

  688. that is not ultimately,

  689. right now,

  690. expressed in the way

  691. that our heavenly citizenship

  692. is expressed.

  693. as it is in heaven,

  694. it is not on earth

  695. in all things.

  696. But,

  697. where the church exists

  698. as a heavenly embassy,

  699. just like an embassy

  700. in another country,

  701. all the culture of the country,

  702. all the laws of the country,

  703. all the rules of the country,

  704. are expressed in that embassy.

  705. And there are ambassadors

  706. in those embassies

  707. who go to other places

  708. and represent the kingdom

  709. or the country

  710. from where they're coming.

  711. we too are to build

  712. an expression,

  713. a living model

  714. of what heaven is like,

  715. of what it's like

  716. to be ruled by King Jesus,

  717. of what it's like

  718. to love one another,

  719. take care of one another,

  720. suffer with one another,

  721. rejoice with one another.

  722. We create little pockets

  723. of heaven on earth

  724. called the church

  725. and then become ambassadors

  726. of that

  727. to people

  728. who've never heard of it,

  729. who've never seen it.

  730. And we say,

  731. we speak a message

  732. and then we point

  733. to an expression

  734. as ambassadors

  735. where they can experience

  736. a part of heaven

  737. not just in the words we say

  738. but in the life that we live.

  739. This is the kingdom of God

  740. being made known.

  741. 2 Corinthians 5.20 says,

  742. we're ambassadors

  743. for Christ.

  744. God making his appeal

  745. through us.

  746. We implore you

  747. on behalf of Christ

  748. be reconciled to God.

  749. Ephesians 6.19-20

  750. Paul says,

  751. pray that words

  752. may be given to me

  753. and opening my mouth boldly

  754. to proclaim the mystery

  755. of the gospel

  756. for which I am

  757. an ambassador in chains

  758. that I may declare it boldly

  759. as I ought to speak.

  760. Do you see this?

  761. Do you have a vision?

  762. Do you care

  763. about the kingdom of God

  764. being made known

  765. in a group of people

  766. so that

  767. what you say

  768. about God

  769. and his kingdom

  770. you can point to?

  771. You can display it.

  772. People can say,

  773. oh, I get it.

  774. I understand

  775. what you're saying.

  776. I experienced that

  777. the other night

  778. in so-and-so's living room.

  779. Oh, I get it.

  780. I understand.

  781. I experienced that

  782. the other day

  783. when so-and-so

  784. helped me with this

  785. and so-and-so

  786. cried with me.

  787. When so-and-so

  788. watched my kids

  789. as if they were their own.

  790. When so-and-so

  791. cared enough

  792. to speak into my marriage.

  793. When so-and-so

  794. adopted me

  795. as a single person

  796. and is just like

  797. I was a part

  798. of their family.

  799. I understand

  800. this reality

  801. you speak of

  802. in the gospel

  803. because

  804. it's lived

  805. among a group

  806. of people.

  807. Heaven has come down

  808. into a particular

  809. group of people

  810. and it's called

  811. the church.

  812. Some groups of people

  813. would say,

  814. oh, we want to see

  815. that everywhere.

  816. Yes, we do want

  817. to see that everywhere.

  818. But some people

  819. want to do that

  820. by aborting

  821. the means that

  822. God has created

  823. to bring that everywhere.

  824. We're not revivalists

  825. seeking revival.

  826. We are Christians

  827. who are ambassadors

  828. for Christ

  829. who build

  830. an experience

  831. of that

  832. demonstration of people

  833. in the context

  834. of church

  835. and then seek

  836. to be ambassadors

  837. of bringing

  838. as many people

  839. into that as possible.

  840. But the core place

  841. that that's happening

  842. is what Jesus

  843. in his eternal purpose

  844. created the whole earth

  845. for that through the church

  846. this would happen.

  847. There's no other means.

  848. There's no other means.

  849. It's through the church.

  850. And when you get

  851. a vision for that

  852. you do Romans 1,

  853. 11 to 12

  854. you say things like

  855. I long to see you

  856. that I may impart

  857. to you some spiritual

  858. gift to strengthen you.

  859. That is

  860. that we may be

  861. mutually encouraged

  862. by each other's faith

  863. both yours and mine.

  864. This is an expression

  865. of the kingdom of God

  866. together

  867. where we're both encouraged

  868. because we're with each other.

  869. It's Hebrews 10,

  870. 24 to 25.

  871. Let us consider

  872. how to stir up

  873. one another

  874. to love and good works

  875. not neglecting

  876. to meet together

  877. as is the habit

  878. of some

  879. but encouraging

  880. one another

  881. all the more

  882. as you see

  883. the day drawing near.

  884. It's a group of people

  885. who are encouraging

  886. one another

  887. strengthening one another

  888. building a strong

  889. foundation of kingdom

  890. reality on earth

  891. as it is in heaven.

  892. That's the church.

  893. But it doesn't just

  894. sit there and enjoy

  895. this on earth

  896. as it is in heaven

  897. with a bunch of Christians

  898. where they're in it

  899. the context of church

  900. where it's all about us

  901. and we're never

  902. outward focused

  903. and we have no vision

  904. for mission.

  905. it's a group of people

  906. who are a holy nation

  907. experiencing on earth

  908. as it is heaven

  909. but then functioning

  910. as ambassadors

  911. of that kingdom

  912. ambassadors

  913. of that holy nation

  914. who are constantly

  915. going out to the world

  916. and saying

  917. come experience heaven

  918. come experience

  919. the good news

  920. of the gospel

  921. of the kingdom

  922. right?

  923. The gospel of the kingdom

  924. the good news

  925. an ambassador

  926. is a trumpeter

  927. of the good news

  928. of the kingdom

  929. and he's always

  930. experiencing it

  931. among his local church

  932. so he's not

  933. as Brendan Manning

  934. puts it

  935. a spiritual travel agent

  936. handing out brochures

  937. to places he's never been.

  938. He's been there.

  939. He knows it.

  940. He's experienced it.

  941. And he's able

  942. not only to speak it

  943. and not just speak it

  944. as someone

  945. who wishes

  946. he's been there

  947. who's dreamt about it

  948. who's read about it

  949. but has actually

  950. experienced it

  951. and then his words

  952. have so much more power

  953. because he's not

  954. speaking theory

  955. he's not speaking

  956. about something

  957. he's never seen

  958. or experienced

  959. he's saying

  960. no listen

  961. I've been there

  962. I've experienced this

  963. come experience

  964. the good news

  965. of the gospel

  966. of the kingdom

  967. come experience it

  968. this is what

  969. the good news is

  970. this is why

  971. it's so important

  972. that we are convicted

  973. about building

  974. on earth

  975. as it is in heaven

  976. about building

  977. healthy churches

  978. that model this

  979. a living model

  980. of what we're talking about

  981. this is why

  982. we're so zealous

  983. about this

  984. this is why

  985. Jesus said

  986. in Psalm 69

  987. and then quoted it

  988. in John 2

  989. when he made a whip

  990. and cleared out the temple

  991. zeal for God's house

  992. consumes me

  993. it's a consuming zeal

  994. to see these

  995. local churches

  996. be expressions

  997. of heaven on earth

  998. so that as ambassadors

  999. we're not speaking

  1000. of things

  1001. that have no weight

  1002. that have no glory

  1003. that have no reality

  1004. okay

  1005. the impossible

  1006. is made possible

  1007. when the invisible

  1008. is made visible

1009. what are we making visible

  1010. can we make visible

  1011. healthy church

1012. do you know how many people

  1013. I come into contact

  1014. who do not believe

  1015. that healthy church

  1016. is possible

  1017. I mean it's at

  1018. epidemic proportions

  1019. I'm not discouraged

  1020. though

  1021. because I have a promise

  1022. that

  1023. he will build

  1024. his church

1025. and the gates of hell

  1026. shall not prevail

  1027. against it

1028. and so I talk to some people

  1029. it looks like

  1030. wow it looks like

  1031. the gates of hell

  1032. are prevailing

  1033. it looks like

  1034. these people

  1035. would never believe

  1036. that there's healthy church

  1037. and I say

  1038. really

  1039. my God

  1040. will be thwarted

  1041. by these things

  1042. I don't think so

  1043. this is the one

  1044. undefeatable

  1045. okay

  1046. thing that God

  1047. has created

  1048. it's the church

  1049. it cannot lose

  1050. it cannot lose

  1051. when it

  1052. when it is going

1053. against the gates of hell

  1054. it will prevail

  1055. and we can have

  1056. confidence in that

  1057. but

  1058. man

  1059. my heart

  1060. beats and longs

  1061. to see as many

  1062. healthy churches

  1063. as possible

  1064. so that

  1065. those who

  1066. have experienced

  1067. horrible experiences

  1068. in church

  1069. or they've started

  1070. to think

  1071. this isn't even possible

  1072. that they can see

  1073. no this is possible

  1074. and the good news

  1075. is in fact that

  1076. it is good news

  1077. it's awesome

  1078. when we can make

  1079. the invisible visible

  1080. some people have never

  1081. seen good church leadership

1082. can we put on display

  1083. good church leadership

  1084. as elders are appointed

  1085. as other people

  1086. rise up into

  1087. other positions

  1088. of leadership

  1089. in the church

1090. can we put on display

  1091. what good leadership

  1092. looks like

1093. can we put on display

  1094. what a plurality

  1095. of leadership

  1096. looks like

  1097. instead of

  1098. one man shows

  1099. that have

  1100. one point of failure

  1101. and have no

  1102. biblical precedent

  1103. in the scriptures

  1104. but like healthy

  1105. leaders working

  1106. together

  1107. disagreeing well

  1108. with one another

  1109. working through

  1110. things together

  1111. can we do that

  1112. can we put that

  1113. on display

  1114. we can

1115. can we put on display

  1116. church as family

  1117. not just having

  1118. the language of family

  1119. but the experience

  1120. of family

  1121. there's nothing

  1122. more disillusioning

  1123. than having the

  1124. language of family

  1125. without the expression

  1126. of it

  1127. don't get so enamored

  1128. and dreamy

  1129. about the language

  1130. of family

  1131. when we're not

  1132. willingly opening up

  1133. our homes

  1134. and our hearts

  1135. and our schedules

  1136. to create real

  1137. atmospheres of family

  1138. amongst us

  1139. you really want to

  1140. disillusion someone

  1141. talk about family

  1142. without actually

1143. putting skin in the game

  1144. to create it

  1145. and to experience it

1146. let us be the kind

  1147. of people

  1148. that don't speak

  1149. of something

  1150. that we don't know

  1151. but that really

  1152. we can function

  1153. as a family

  1154. can we make

  1155. the impossible

  1156. possible by making

  1157. the invisible

  1158. visible with

  1159. being a church

  1160. on mission

  1161. some people think

  1162. there's no

  1163. I don't even

  1164. understand how

  1165. we can be

  1166. a church on mission

  1167. I don't understand

  1168. how small

  1169. families of believers

  1170. can be on mission

  1171. to specific people

  1172. and places

1173. and do it in a way

  1174. that we're engaged

  1175. and excited

  1176. it is possible

  1177. I've seen it

  1178. I'm seeing it here

  1179. at Christ Church

  1180. let's continue

1181. to put that on display

1182. can we put on display

  1183. healthy church membership

  1184. so often people

  1185. get nauseated

  1186. when you even mention

  1187. the topic of membership

  1188. but I think it's one

  1189. of the most beautiful

  1190. biblical realities

  1191. and when it's played

  1192. out well

  1193. it is powerful

  1194. it is impactful

  1195. and it points

  1196. to heaven

1197. can we put on display

  1198. healthy church discipline

  1199. some people

  1200. balk at the idea

  1201. of church discipline

  1202. and say

  1203. oh really

  1204. you're a church

  1205. that does church discipline

  1206. I can't tell you

  1207. how much fruit

  1208. I've seen

1209. I'm calling the wayward soul

  1210. back to Jesus

  1211. through church discipline

  1212. it bears fruit

  1213. because it's God's idea

1214. can we put on display

  1215. gospel centrality

  1216. having our motivation

  1217. and our fuel

  1218. be the person

1219. and the work of Jesus

1220. in a gospel dense culture

  1221. where it's

  1222. it's everywhere

  1223. it's everywhere

  1224. everything we're doing

1225. is because he first loved us

  1226. 1 John 4 19

1227. can we put on display

1228. a freedom to confess sin

1229. just talking to a brother

  1230. the other day

1231. who was a part of another church

  1232. in another state

  1233. and he lived there

  1234. for multiple years

  1235. and he ended up

  1236. falling into some sin

  1237. in his marriage

  1238. some sexual sin

  1239. and he ended up

  1240. confessing it to them

1241. and you would have thought

1242. he said something to them

1243. that they'd never heard before

1244. and they looked at him

  1245. with kind of like

  1246. kind of

  1247. they didn't say it

1248. but they basically said it

1249. we don't do that here

  1250. kind of thing

  1251. you know

  1252. and it's like

  1253. what?

  1254. and there's churches

  1255. like this

  1256. where it's like

  1257. no no no

1258. we don't talk about our sins

  1259. what about a church

  1260. that has all

  1261. their identity

  1262. and their worth

  1263. and the person

1264. and the work of Jesus Christ

  1265. so that they're free

1266. to share all their foibles

  1267. and failures

1268. free to confess their sins

  1269. free to lose

  1270. because they have

  1271. everything in Christ

1272. and so they can lose

  1273. their reputation

  1274. they can lose

  1275. what people might think

  1276. of them

  1277. because they know

  1278. that Jesus

  1279. loves them

1280. not for who they are

1281. but for who Jesus is

  1282. and what he's done

1283. if we put that on display

1284. can we make that visible

  1285. can we make

  1286. suffering together

  1287. and rejoicing together

  1288. visible

  1289. can we make an

  1290. all of life expression

  1291. of church visible

  1292. rather than just

  1293. this compartmentalized

  1294. you can get this

  1295. Jesus

1296. but you can't touch that

1297. can we make that visible

  1298. with joy

1299. so that people come in

  1300. and say

  1301. wow this sounds

  1302. like way too much

  1303. and we say

1304. it is apart from Christ

  1305. but in Christ

  1306. it's all joy

  1307. it's joy

  1308. it's pleasure

1309. can we put on display

  1310. healthy marriage

1311. can we put on display

  1312. healthy marriage

1313. I remember one of the main reasons

1314. I wanted to get married

  1315. as a young person

  1316. is because

  1317. the youth group

  1318. that I was a part of

  1319. at the time

  1320. that I was

  1321. helping pastor

  1322. at the time

  1323. more

  1324. more kids than not

  1325. were coming from

  1326. divorced families

1327. and they had no clue

1328. because they'd never seen it

  1329. they didn't know

  1330. what a healthy family

  1331. looked like

1332. and I wanted to get married

  1333. and have kids

  1334. so that I could

  1335. make the invisible visible

  1336. I wanted people

  1337. in broken families

1338. to be able to see

  1339. no it's possible

  1340. it's possible

1341. can we put on display

  1342. healthy marriage

1343. can we put on display

  1344. healthy parenting

  1345. child discipline

1346. can we put on display

  1347. disciplining our children

  1348. in a loving way

  1349. in a consistent way

  1350. so that our kids

  1351. rise up

  1352. and call us blessed

  1353. and people don't look

  1354. upon them with scorn

1355. can we put on display

  1356. an orderly kids

  1357. an orderly family

  1358. orderly large families

  1359. who love Jesus

  1360. some people think

  1361. it's so spiritual

1362. to have a bunch of kids

1363. if you have a bunch of kids

  1364. and they're disorderly

  1365. all you did

  1366. would just create

  1367. more disorder

1368. if you have a bunch of kids

1369. and they don't love Jesus

1370. there's no blessing in that

  1371. that's a curse

  1372. you're just creating

  1373. a bunch more people

  1374. who don't love Jesus

  1375. there's nothing spiritual

  1376. about a large family

  1377. unless it's stewarded

1378. but can we put that

  1379. on display

1380. can we put on display

  1381. spiritual fathers

  1382. and mothers

1383. can we put on display

  1384. healthy dating

1385. can we put on display

  1386. this reality

  1387. which so many people

  1388. have no grit for

  1389. that Jesus Christ died

  1390. so that people

1391. could be free from lust

  1392. I'm not talking about

  1393. for one week

  1394. or two weeks

  1395. I'm talking about

  1396. for their whole life

1397. can we put on display

  1398. that lust isn't something

  1399. that guys just need

  1400. to settle and say

1401. this is just the way it is

  1402. I know many guys

  1403. who believe that

1404. who no longer believe that

  1405. and they walk out

  1406. freedom from lust

  1407. it's possible

  1408. and God wants us

1409. to put it on display

1410. can we put on display

  1411. healthy gender roles

1412. can we put on display

  1413. charismatic gifts

  1414. that aren't charismatic

  1415. wackiness

  1416. but like real solid

  1417. biblical reality

1418. that builds up the church

1419. can we put on display

  1420. those things

  1421. we can

  1422. and we will

  1423. by God's grace

  1424. and I'm asking you

1425. to believe for these things

  1426. I'm asking you

1427. to believe for a church

  1428. that this is possible

  1429. and it has nothing

1430. to do with any of your

  1431. own strength

  1432. or wisdom

  1433. this is God's church

1434. if this lands on you

  1435. as burden

  1436. I have good news

  1437. let it go

  1438. it's not your church

  1439. Christ's church

  1440. isn't your church

  1441. Christ's church

  1442. isn't my church

  1443. it's his church

  1444. we co-labor

  1445. but he's ultimately

  1446. the one building

  1447. his grace is sufficient

  1448. and hey

  1449. trust me

  1450. I get stressed

  1451. about church stuff

  1452. I have many times

1453. when I read that verse

  1454. that Paul says

  1455. about the anxiety

  1456. of the church is

  1457. I feel it

1458. but at the end of the day

  1459. I just gotta say

  1460. it's not my church

  1461. Jesus is building

  1462. his church

  1463. he loves

  1464. and cares for her

  1465. like I could never

1466. love and care for her

  1467. like you could never

1468. love and care for her

  1469. and he's building

  1470. something

1471. that the gates of hell

  1472. cannot prevail against

  1473. that is assuring

  1474. but it leaves me

1475. to my last point here

1476. you have to count the cost

1477. you have to count the cost

  1478. it is costly

  1479. to have a church

  1480. like I'm talking of

  1481. it is costly

  1482. now there's a cost

1483. that is death unto death

  1484. and I don't know about you

  1485. but I'm not really

  1486. into death unto death

  1487. that's not even

  1488. that's not cool

1489. just die for death's sake

  1490. nah

  1491. not really

  1492. I don't really like that

  1493. Jesus never told us

  1494. to die

  1495. just for death's sake

  1496. it was always

  1497. always death

  1498. unto life

  1499. death unto life

  1500. our death

  1501. our sacrifice

  1502. our giving up

  1503. of our lives

  1504. is to experience

  1505. the life of Christ

  1506. if you believe that

  1507. then you can

  1508. gladly give

  1509. everything you have

  1510. to purchase

1511. the pearl of great price

  1512. or the treasure

  1513. in the field

1514. and you can do it

1515. like the guy who did it

  1516. did it

  1517. in his

  1518. joy

  1519. in his joy

  1520. do you have joy

  1521. in your sacrifice

1522. some of you are like

  1523. oh my gosh

  1524. I've heard this before

1525. heard it in past churches

  1526. you're freaking me out

  1527. Josh

  1528. I get it

  1529. I've been that person

1530. being freaked out as well

  1531. by someone else

  1532. saying it

1533. and all I can say

  1534. to that is

  1535. real things happen

  1536. from real broken people

1537. that are hard to overcome

1538. but Jesus is the same

  1539. yesterday

  1540. today

  1541. and forever

  1542. and he's calling us

  1543. to believe him

  1544. and to trust him

  1545. and to say

  1546. once again

  1547. just like Paul said

  1548. I die daily

  1549. it's a daily choice

  1550. it's a daily to say

  1551. you know God

  1552. I'm having a hard time

  1553. trusting today

1554. I've met a lot of your people

1555. that are really hard to trust

  1556. and I'm sure

  1557. God understands

  1558. because he happened to

  1559. walk on earth

  1560. with those people

  1561. and they betrayed him

  1562. they killed him

  1563. he knows

  1564. about people

  1565. who can't be trusted

  1566. he knows about people

  1567. who betray

  1568. he knows about people

  1569. who treat you

  1570. poorly

  1571. Jesus knows

  1572. he is a sympathetic

  1573. high priest

  1574. isn't it amazing

1575. that the one we serve

  1576. can relate to us

1577. because he's our high priest

  1578. and he went through

  1579. what we went through

  1580. that's an amazing thing

  1581. he's not asking us

  1582. to give ourselves

  1583. to these realities

  1584. thinking

  1585. oh

1586. this is a walk in the park

  1587. he knows

  1588. he knows

  1589. and he's with us

1590. and he'll never leave us

  1591. or forsake us

  1592. and some of us

  1593. have maybe felt

  1594. like the church

  1595. through the church

  1596. that we've been forsaken

  1597. by God

  1598. and maybe you never

1599. thought of it that way

  1600. because we thought

  1601. oh actually

1602. I was forsaken by people

  1603. but deep down

  1604. what is underneath

  1605. the hurt

  1606. from being forsaken

  1607. by people

  1608. is a pain

  1609. that God himself

  1610. has forsaken us

1611. and I want to say

  1612. to you

  1613. with full confidence

  1614. God has never forsaken

1615. God has never forsaken you

1616. and he will never leave you

1617. he will never forsake you

1618. he will be with you

  1619. always

  1620. how long

  1621. to the very end

  1622. of the age

1623. and then he's going to

  1624. come back

  1625. and bring us

  1626. to be with him

  1627. so

  1628. that's a good promise

  1629. but it costs

  1630. it does cost

  1631. God is not

1632. we have to be honest

  1633. about it

  1634. to say

1635. hey we want a church

  1636. like this

  1637. but it doesn't cost

  1638. anything

  1639. would be

  1640. I'd be

  1641. I'd be a salesman

  1642. selling you something

  1643. that's not real

  1644. and I can't do that

  1645. Luke 14 28

  1646. says

  1647. which of you

  1648. desiring to build

  1649. a tower

  1650. does not first

  1651. sit down

  1652. and count the cost

  1653. whether he has

  1654. enough to complete it

  1655. I'm asking you

  1656. if you consider

1657. the cost of a church

  1658. like that I'm talking

  1659. about

  1660. an invisible church

1661. that we want to make

  1662. visible

  1663. that we're starting

  1664. to do

  1665. in these two years

  1666. and I praise God

  1667. for that

  1668. but it's going to

  1669. continue to cost

1670. and a lot of times

  1671. it costs more

1672. than we'd like to pay

1673. so we need to remember

1674. what do we need to remember

  1675. well 1 Corinthians 15 58

  1676. NIV says

  1677. always

  1678. give yourselves

  1679. fully

  1680. to the work

  1681. of the Lord

  1682. and I love that

  1683. that's not the end

  1684. of the verse

  1685. why

  1686. how

  1687. because you know

  1688. that your labor

  1689. in the Lord

  1690. is not in vain

  1691. some of you

  1692. maybe the devil

  1693. has told you

  1694. over the years

  1695. that your labor

  1696. in the Lord

  1697. was not in vain

  1698. or was in vain

  1699. maybe you looked

  1700. at certain things

  1701. you've given yourself

  1702. to that didn't turn

  1703. out the way

  1704. you wanted them to

  1705. they didn't turn

  1706. out the way

  1707. you had hoped

  1708. they would

  1709. and the devil

  1710. says see

  1711. that was in vain

  1712. that was vanity

  1713. you gave yourself

  1714. to something

  1715. that had no worth

  1716. you gave yourself

  1717. to something

  1718. that didn't go

  1719. as you thought

  1720. it was

  1721. you gave yourself

  1722. to something

  1723. that failed

  1724. maybe

  1725. and God

  1726. says here

  1727. always give

  1728. yourselves fully

  1729. when always

  1730. how much

  1731. fully

  1732. to what

  1733. the work

  1734. of the Lord

  1735. why

  1736. because your labor

  1737. in the Lord

  1738. is not in vain

  1739. someone needs

  1740. to hear that

  1741. this morning

  1742. that your labor

  1743. in the Lord

  1744. is not in vain

  1745. did you hear

  1746. what I said

  1747. your labor

  1748. in the Lord

  1749. is not in vain

  1750. so why do we

  1751. give ourselves

  1752. to this stuff

  1753. why do we

  1754. give ourselves

  1755. to seeing

  1756. the invisible

  1757. made visible

  1758. so that

  1759. the invisible

  1760. can be possible

  1761. for a group

  1762. of people

  1763. who have been

  1764. disillusioned

  1765. we do it

  1766. because our labor

  1767. in the Lord

  1768. is not in vain

  1769. our labor

  1770. in the Lord

  1771. is not in vain

  1772. Tom Brady

  1773. in his Hall

  1774. of Fame speech

  1775. you're quoting Tom Brady

1776. yeah I'm quoting Tom Brady

  1777. and his Hall

  1778. of Fame speech

  1779. said

  1780. to be successful

  1781. at anything

  1782. the truth is

  1783. you don't have

  1784. to be special

  1785. you just have

  1786. to be what

  1787. most people

  1788. aren't

  1789. consistent

  1790. determined

  1791. and willing

  1792. to work for it

  1793. no shortcuts

  1794. consistently believing

  1795. that the impossible

  1796. is possible

  1797. and being determined

  1798. to work for it

  1799. to be displayed

  1800. is what is required

  1801. it's consistency

  1802. if you want

  1803. a church

  1804. that you haven't

  1805. experienced

  1806. you have to do

  1807. something

  1808. that you

  1809. haven't done

  1810. do you hear me

  1811. if you want

  1812. a church

  1813. that you've

  1814. not experienced

  1815. you have to

  1816. do something

  1817. that you

  1818. haven't done

  1819. to keep

  1820. doing the same

  1821. thing you've

  1822. always done

  1823. expecting to

  1824. have a different

  1825. church experience

  1826. is a fool's errand

  1827. we have to be

  1828. willing to count

  1829. the cost

  1830. be consistent

  1831. and put in

  1832. the work

  1833. and I'm thankful

  1834. that there's a

  1835. group of people

  1836. in this room

  1837. that have shown

  1838. over the last

  1839. two years

  1840. that you're

  1841. willing to do

  1842. it

  1843. and for that

  1844. I'm proud

  1845. to be a part

  1846. of it

  1847. I'm excited

  1848. to be a part

  1849. of it

  1850. I am

  1851. grateful

  1852. to be a part

  1853. of it

  1854. you guys

  1855. are

  1856. some people

  1857. that I really

  1858. appreciate

  1859. and what you've

  1860. done this last

  1861. two years

  1862. is powerful

  1863. it's powerful

  1864. to see the work

  1865. that you guys

  1866. have put in

  1867. hasn't always

  1868. been easy

  1869. but you guys

  1870. have done it

  1871. and you're still

  1872. doing it

  1873. and you're putting

  1874. in the work

  1875. and you left

  1876. certain things

  1877. that were hard

  1878. to leave

  1879. you left certain

  1880. things that were

  1881. much easier

  1882. and you said

  1883. no we want

  1884. to make the

  1885. invisible visible

  1886. for a group

  1887. of people

  1888. that haven't

  1889. seen it yet

  1890. and so we're

  1891. doing this

  1892. thing called

  1893. Christ Church

  1894. and for that

  1895. I applaud you

  1896. for that

  1897. I say well

  1898. done

  1899. and I say

  1900. don't let up

  1901. don't let up

  1902. keep going

  1903. because Luke

  1904. 18

  1905. 27

  1906. says

  1907. what is

  1908. impossible

  1909. with man

  1910. is possible

  1911. with God

  1912. let's build

  1913. a living model

  1914. for God's

  1915. glory

  1916. and the good

  1917. of those

  1918. who don't yet

  1919. believe that

  1920. the impossible

  1921. is possible

  1922. amen

  1923. amen
