  1. I wanted to talk to you about God's sovereignty because as I was going through God's omnipotence,

  2. ! mainly his strength and his power, so hard to not bleed into God's sovereignty.

  3. !

  4. And my hope in mind is that you guys would walk in sovereignty with peace and trust

  5. and see this as a source of comfort and not fear.

  6. Along with that, that you guys would be equipped as we're a church plant with a correct mindset

  7. in evangelism, in God's sovereignty.

  8. So with all that, I want to talk about rocks.

  9. There's a...

  10. I love rocks.

  11. There's one of my favorite classes in public school was earth science.

  12. And my favorite part was geology, which dealt with fossils and rocks.

  13. And it was fascinating to learn about igneous rocks, the cooling of lava to create igneous

  14. rocks, diamonds being created under pressure, and crystals in their beautiful formation.

  15. And while I was obsessed with rocks, I was also obsessed with the question, can God create

  16. a rock so big that he could not lift it?

  17. And I was haunted and plagued by this question for years.

  18. And if I answered yes, I was wrong.

  19. If I answered yes, could God create a rock so big that he couldn't lift it?

  20. It was a lie about who God is.

  21. If I answered no, it was a lie about who God is.

  22. I was like, what do I do?

  23. Right?

  24. It wasn't until later in life that I realized that this is just a stupid question.

  25. It's a silly question.

  26. It's a contradiction.

  27. Because it's not the truth, you could get no answer to the truth of who God is.

  28. Right?

  29. Because we know that God truly is all-powerful.

  30. And this insufficient folly of a question, though so trivial, helps me introduce God's

  31. omnipotence.

  32. Right?

  33. Um, Deocarsen defines omnipotence as God being so powerful, he can do anything he chooses

  34. to do.

  35. Uh, we can say that we are not omnipotent because we cannot do anything that we choose

  36. to do.

  37. We could try, but we cannot.

  38. Uh, and to talk about God's omnipotence, it is impossible to separate it from his omniscience.

  39. Uh, that, that is, um, God knowing everything and his omnipresence, which is God being everywhere.

  40. Um, and for that, uh, I wanted to us to turn to Psalm 139, which I think clearly lays out

  41. all three of these things.

  42. Um, so I'll, I'll give you a second to turn there if you want to read along with me.

  43. I'll start in verse one and then go to verse 16.

  44. Lord, you have searched me and known me.

  45. You know when I sit down and when I stand up.

  46. You understand my thoughts from far away.

  47. You observe my travels and my rest.

  48. You are aware of all my ways.

  49. Before a word is on my tongue.

  50. You know all about it, Lord.

  51. You have encircled me.

  52. You have placed your hand upon me.

  53. This wondrous knowledge is beyond me.

  54. It is lofty.

  55. I am unable to reach it.

  56. That there is God's omniscience.

  57. His knowing everything.

  58. As David says, before I say another word, God already knows of what I'm going to say.

  59. And now his, his omnipresence.

  60. Where can I go to escape your spirit?

  61. Where can I flee from your presence?

  62. If I go up to heaven, you are there.

  63. If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.

  64. If I live at the Eastern horizon or settle in the Western limits, even there, your hand will

  65. lead me.

  66. Your right hand will hold on to me.

  67. If I say, surely the darkness will hide me and the light around me will be night.

  68. Even the darkness is not dark to you.

  69. The night shines like the day.

  70. Darkness and light are alike to you.

  71. This speaks of God's omnipresence.

  72. He's everywhere.

  73. There is no dark corner of this world that we can go, that we can hide from God.

  74. Nothing that we do could hide us from God.

  75. And now his power.

  76. For it was you who created my inward parts.

  77. You knitted me together in my mother's womb.

  78. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made.

  79. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well.

  80. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in the secret.

  81. When I was formed in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw me when I was formless.

  82. Because all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.

  83. That speaks of his power.

  84. Now, to bring them all together and why these can't be separated is because God, as the causer

  85. of all things, can have nothing happen outside of his authority.

  86. So, David says,

  87. That's the same for all of us.

  88. That's the same for all of God's creation.

  89. God's power has created everything.

  90. He has caused everything.

  91. If God has caused everything, if God does everything, then there's nothing that God does not know will happen.

  92. Hence his omniscience.

  93. If God knows everything will happen, and he's an eternal being outside of time, and he can be everywhere all at once,

  94. there is nothing that can hide from him because he has caused everything to happen.

  95. He knows where everything is.

  96. And so, that means that nothing can escape God's authority.

  97. He knows where everything and everyone is because he ordains where they are and where they will be.

  98. Now, with that in mind, we can more clearly think of God's sovereignty, right, with these three connected.

  99. And there's three common wrong worldviews of how the world works.

  100. It's not exhaustive, but just common.

  101. Before we jump into God's sovereignty.

  102. The first is atheism, right?

  103. The natural man.

  104. He only believes in what he can see, what can be measured.

  105. Hypothesis, the scientific theory.

  106. Scientific theory.

  107. Seeing is believing.

  108. Maybe even money makes the world go round.

  109. Only what I can spend is truly my God.

  110. That is one worldview.

  111. The other is deism.

  112. That God created this world, and he left.

  113. He's the great watchmaker.

  114. Like, Garvin created this watch.

  115. I know the watchmaker, though.

  116. God created this watch and threw it out there.

  117. The universe, right?

  118. And it keeps ticking and keeps ticking and just keeps going.

  119. And God, you know, God's outside.

  120. He's like, hands off.

  121. That's the world, right?

  122. The other worldview is what Carson calls the God of the gaps,

  123. which is what a lot of Christians believe.

  124. This is where the world is going.

  125. It's not totally deism, but, you know, the watch goes out of whack sometimes,

  126. and God sticks his finger in there.

  127. Boom, miracle.

  128. And another one is, God, I really, really, really, really, really need your help.

  129. Please help me.

  130. But other than that, you never think about God.

  131. God, it's God.

  132. God only fills the gaps where he is needed by you.

  133. And those are three wrong worldviews of how the world works.

  134. And it wants to think clearly and soberly about God's sovereignty.

  135. So let's do a little brain exercise.

  136. Today, there's a mom that just gave birth.

  137. I know this.

  138. My wife is after birth.

  139. A couple just got married.

  140. A dude just skipped church and caught a massive fish.

  141. A raccoon got snared by Max and Charlie or Joey.

  142. And so many other good things that are happening today.

  143. It's all caused by God.

  144. But also, there's a flip side.

  145. There are parents who just lost their son, their daughter.

  146. There's a woman who was raped.

  147. There is a drunk driver who just died in a car crash.

  148. There's someone who just lost the battle with cancer and died.

  149. A family's death stated by divorce.

  150. There's so many good things, but yet so many evil things.

  151. And it comes to the question, what is God's sovereignty, though, with all these evil things?

  152. Is God's sovereignty just a chessboard match with Satan?

  153. And when God is losing, bad things happen?

  154. That's not sovereignty.

  155. God is in control at all times.

  156. God is in control at all times.

  157. And we may think that he is not, but he is.

  158. And I want us to take a look at the story of Job.

  159. And Job gives, the story of Job gives a great picture of this.

  160. So turn with me to Job 1, starting in verse 14.

  161. Before this, Satan and God had a conversation.

  162. And God gave Satan permission to afflict him in some of the most horrible ways.

  163. Starting in verse 14.

  164. A messenger came to Job and reported,

  165. While the oxen were plowing and the donkeys grazing nearby,

  166. the Sabians swooped down and took them away.

  167. They struck down your servants with the sword,

  168. and I alone have escaped to tell you.

  169. So these people came down,

  170. thieves, stole all of Job's oxen,

  171. and murdered his servants.

  172. A lot about God.

  173. He was still speaking,

  174. when another messenger came and reported,

  175. God's fire fell from heaven,

  176. it burned the sheep and the servants,

  177. and devoured them,

  178. and I alone have escaped to tell you.

  179. Another devastation.

  180. That messenger was still speaking,

  181. yet another one came and reported,

  182. The Chaldeans formed three bands,

  183. made a raid on the camels,

  184. took them away,

  185. they have struck down the servants with the sword,

  186. and I alone have escaped to tell you.

  187. Another thieves,

  188. murdered more servants.

  189. He was still speaking,

  190. when another messenger came and reported,

  191. Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine

  192. in their older brother's house.

  193. Suddenly,

  194. a powerful wind swept in from the desert

  195. and struck the four corners of the house.

  196. It collapsed on the young people,

  197. so that they died,

  198. and I alone have escaped to tell you.

  199. Horrible.

  200. Horrible.

  201. Yet,

  202. Job's,

  203. Job's response is astounding.

  204. Job stood up,

  205. tore his robe,

  206. shaved his head,

  207. he fell to the ground,

  208. and worshipped,

  209. saying,

  210. Naked I came from my mother's womb,

  211. and naked I will leave this life.

  212. The Lord gives,

  213. and the Lord takes away.

  214. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  215. God is not in some cosmic chess board game with Satan.

  216. And when he loses,

  217. bad things happen.

  218. No.

  219. This shows God is ordating,

  220. allowing,

  221. and controlling

  222. all of these different things

  223. to go on all at once.

  224. Now, you know,

  225. I wonder if our first instinct is to worship.

  226. That certainly is not my first instinct.

  227. I do not have trials like Job.

  228. I mean, I have,

  229. I mean,

  230. the most trials I have in my life

  231. is my two kids.

  232. You know,

  233. Reuben is

  234. three years old,

  235. he's

  236. going to sleep,

  237. and then he's up for the tenth time like,

  238. Kid!

  239. Get to bed!

  240. That's my greatest trial.

  241. Can I get upset by that?

  242. Obviously,

  243. I don't have afflictions like Job,

  244. but for many,

  245. it's hard to believe

  246. that God can ordain

  247. such hard things.

  248. But he has.

  249. And you might say,

  250. what about famine?

  251. Yes.

  252. He's ordained them.

  253. What about wars?

  254. Yes.

  255. What about Hitler?

  256. He murdered millions.

  257. Women,

  258. men,

  259. children?

  260. Yes.

  261. What about,

  262. what about,

  263. what about

  264. he has ordained them?

  265. And in case of God's

  266. ordaining

  267. and his sovereignty,

  268. we might think

  269. with all those,

  270. especially with

  271. all these people

  272. who do

  273. all these evil things,

  274. you know,

  275. what about hell?

  276. You know,

  277. if God ordains

  278. all these things

  279. and ordains

  280. all these people

  281. to do all these things,

  282. why is it fair

  283. that people go to hell?

  284. Right?

  285. That doesn't make any sense.

  286. I'd be hard-pressed

  287. to answer this question

  288. if Paul didn't already.

  289. please turn with me

  290. to Romans,

  291. Romans chapter 9.

    Romans 9 chapter mention

  292. Romans 9,

  293. starting in verse 14.

  294. What then should we say?

  295. Is there injustice

  296. with God?

  297. Absolutely not.

  298. For he tells Moses,

  299. I will show mercy

  300. to whom I will show mercy

  301. and I will have compassion

  302. on whom I will have compassion.

  303. So it does not depend

  304. on human will

  305. or effort

  306. but on God

  307. who shows mercy.

  308. For the scripture tells us,

  309. Pharaoh I raised up

  310. for this reason

  311. that I might display

  312. my power in you

  313. and that my name

  314. may be proclaimed

  315. in the whole earth.

  316. So then,

  317. he has mercy

  318. on whom he wants to

  319. and harden

  320. whom he wants to harden.

  321. And you will say,

  322. therefore,

  323. why then

  324. does he find fault?

  325. Or,

  326. why does he find fault

  327. to send people to hell?

  328. For who can resist his will?

  329. Who can,

  330. who can choose

  331. not to do

  332. what he has already ordained?

  333. Is what Paul asks.

  334. If God has ordained it,

  335. how can we choose

  336. not to do it?

  337. But who are you,

  338. mere man,

  339. to talk back to God?

  340. Well,

  341. what does form say

  342. to the one who formed it,

  343. why did you make me like this?

  344. Or has the potter

  345. have no right

  346. over the clay

  347. to make from the same lump

  348. one piece

  349. pottery for honor

  350. and the other for dishonor?

  351. And what if God,

  352. wanting to display his wrath

  353. and to make his power known,

  354. endured with much patience

  355. objects of wrath

  356. prepared for destruction?

  357. And what if he did this

  358. to make known

  359. the riches of his glory

  360. on objects of mercy

  361. that he prepared beforehand

  362. for glory?

  363. Even in God's

  364. sovereignty,

  365. he still

  366. ordains

  367. that men

  368. who do sinful things

  369. would go to hell.

  370. And he is not responsible

  371. in any way

  372. for man's sin.

  373. And some of you

  374. might say,

  375. really?

  376. He ordained it.

  377. How is that so?

  378. Well,

  379. I can say the word

  380. ridiculous

  381. and it be of my own

  382. free will.

  383. I can do anything

  384. and be of my own

  385. free will.

  386. How does free will

  387. and God's sovereignty

  388. work together?

  389. They're not opposed

  390. to one another at all.

  391. How are we held

  392. accountable

  393. yet God is not?

  394. And I think

  395. the closest analogy

  396. that I've found

  397. to this mystery

  398. is in Psalm 139.

  399. That God

  400. has written

  401. all of our lives

  402. already.

  403. I think

  404. one of the

  405. best analogies

  406. is that of an author.

  407. Consider with me

  408. C.S. Lewis.

  409. Lewis,

  410. I don't know

  411. that he's a sorcerer

  412. and I don't know

  413. that he's a murderer.

  414. Yet he creates

  415. the character

  416. of the White Witch.

  417. He creates

  418. Aslan

  419. to destroy her.

  420. Yet

  421. C.S. Lewis

  422. receives

  423. glory

  424. for all

  425. of these characters

  426. and is not

  427. responsible

  428. for anything

  429. that the White Witch

  430. did.

  431. It's mere

  432. philosophy almost.

  433. Or even

  434. A.W. Tozer.

  435. A.W. Tozer

  436. didn't create

  437. orcs

  438. in this life

  439. yet he creates

  440. Sauron

  441. to create

  442. these things.

  443. Tolkien,

  444. sorry.

  445. Thanks.

  446. Tolkien.

  447. Tolkien.

  448. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

  449. Tolkien.

  450. God-ordained it.

  451. You're right.

  452. Tolkien

  453. creates Sauron

  454. who's this evil

  455. maniacal

  456. fallen angel

  457. in some sort of way.

  458. Yet Tolkien

  459. is not a murderer

  460. nor does he create

  461. orcs in that way

  462. but yet

  463. he receives

  464. all of the glory

  465. for his work.

  466. And so

  467. in a similar way

  468. with God

  469. God

  470. has written

  471. a story

  472. of all of us

  473. in this incredible

  474. awesome way

  475. yet we are still

  476. responsible

  477. for all of the actions

  478. that we have done

  479. and he receives

  480. all of the glory.

  481. Why are you in this story?

  482. For his glory.

  483. Lewis receives

  484. the glory

  485. for his book.

  486. Tolkien receives

  487. the glory

  488. for his book.

  489. God receives

  490. the glory

  491. for his book.

  492. God

  493. yet.

  494. Yet.

  495. This would be

  496. really

  497. this would be a really

  498. really hard pill

  499. to swallow

  500. if we didn't

  501. acknowledge that

  502. God is also

  503. good

  504. and holy

  505. and loving.

  506. Right?

  507. Like in Romans 8

  508. you don't have to

  509. turn there

  510. I can just read it

  511. it says

  512. for we know

  513. that God

  514. in verse 38

  515. for we know

  516. that God

  517. for we know

  518. that all things

  519. work together

  520. for the good

  521. of those

  522. who love God

  523. who are called

  524. according to

  525. his purposes.

  526. God

  527. is working

  528. together

  529. all things.

  530. Right?

  531. Or

  532. another translation

  533. says

  534. God works

  535. together

  536. all things

  537. for the good

  538. of those

  539. who love him.

  540. Right?

  541. he is doing

  542. the working

  543. because

  544. he is good.

  545. He can do

  546. good things

  547. because he is good.

  548. This would be

  549. awful news

  550. if God

  551. was a tyrannical

  552. evil

  553. maniacal God

  554. but he is not.

  555. And if we continue

  556. in verse 31

  557. it says

  558. what are we

  559. to say

  560. about these things

  561. if God

  562. is for us

  563. who is

  564. against us

  565. he did not

  566. even spare

  567. his own son

  568. but offered

  569. him up

  570. for us

  571. how will

  572. he not

  573. also with

  574. him

  575. grant us

  576. everything.

  577. Right?

  578. In God's

  579. love

  580. his holiness

  581. his goodness

  582. he offered

  583. up his

  584. son

  585. for us.

  586. He ordained

  587. that his

  588. son

  589. would die

  590. for you

  591. and for me.

  592. This is

  593. good news.

  594. Is it good

  595. news?

  596. It is good

  597. news.

  598. He is so

  599. good

  600. to give

  601. you his

  602. son.

  603. You do

  604. not deserve

  605. that.

  606. Yet he

  607. ordained

  608. it.

  609. And

  610. not only

  611. that

  612. not only

  613. is God

  614. sorry

  615. not only

  616. is

  617. God

  618. good

  619. holy

  620. and loving

  621. there

  622. is no

  623. deceit

  624. found

  625. within

  626. God.

  627. I believe

  628. it is

  629. sorry

  630. I lost

  631. my page

  632. losing my

  633. page here

  634. there's

  635. Psalm 92

  636. 15 that

  637. says

  638. the Lord

  639. is just

  640. he's my

  641. rock

  642. and there's

  643. no

  644. unrighteousness

  645. in him.

  646. yes

  647. there's

  648. unrighteousness

  649. and wickedness

  650. in the

  651. world

  652. but God

  653. is good.

  654. His purposes

  655. are still

  656. mysterious to

  657. us but his

  658. purposes are

  659. still good.

  660. All his

  661. purposes and

  662. his ways and

  663. all his

  664. ordaining are

  665. still good.

  666. And

  667. of the

  668. of man's

  669. accountability

  670. Jesus even

  671. says before

  672. he's about

  673. to be

  674. betrayed

  675. of Jesus

  676. he says

  677. for the

  678. man

  679. the

  680. son of

  681. man

  682. will go

  683. away

  684. as it

  685. has been

  686. determined

  687. meaning

  688. Jesus will

  689. be

  690. crucified

  691. and hung

  692. on a

  693. tree

  694. as it

  695. has been

  696. determined

  697. as it

  698. has been

  699. ordained

  700. sovereignly

  701. but woe

  702. to that

  703. man by

  704. whom he

  705. is

  706. betrayed

  707. right

  708. there is

  709. God's

  710. ordaining

  711. yet man's

  712. responsibility

  713. in all

  714. of them

  715. and we

  716. are

  717. responsible

  718. for

  719. our sins

  720. and

  721. with

  722. all

  723. that

  724. I

  725. wanted

  726. us to

  727. just

  728. really

  729. consider

  730. that

  731. God

  732. is

  733. for

  734. us

  735. those

  736. who are

  737. in

  738. Christ

  739. God

  740. is

  741. for

  742. us

  743. he's

  744. not

  745. against

  746. us

  747. he's

  748. good

  749. faithful

  750. holy

  751. and loving

  752. and I'm

  753. not saying

  754. all this

  755. sovereignty

  756. so that

  757. we can

  758. go outside

  759. and look

  760. at the

  761. sky

  762. and look

  763. sky is

  764. bluer

  765. now

  766. right

  767. it is

  768. to see

  769. that

  770. even

  771. the grass

  772. is clothed

  773. by God

  774. right

  775. Jesus

  776. in the

  777. story

  778. with

  779. Peter

  780. tells

  781. him

  782. to

  783. go

  784. and

  785. throw

  786. a

  787. hook

  788. and

  789. a

  790. coin

  791. will

  792. be

  793. in

  794. the

  795. fish's

  796. mouth

  797. right

  798. God

  799. ordains

  800. the

  801. fish

  802. not only

  803. that

  804. if we

  805. grumble

  806. against

  807. the

  808. weather

  809. we

  810. grumble

  811. against

  812. God

  813. because

  814. who's

  815. in

  816. control

  817. of

  818. the

  819. weather

  820. God

  821. he

  822. ordains

  823. volcanoes

  824. and

  825. tornadoes

  826. and

  827. hurricanes

  828. and

  829. droughts

  830. right

  831. all

  832. things

  833. is

  834. held

  835. by

  836. God

  837. and

  838. so

  839. I

  840. have

  841. with

  842. that

  843. just

  844. three

  845. application

  846. points

  847. the

  848. first

  849. is

  850. if

  851. you

  852. have

  853. not

  854. trusted

  855. in

  856. God

  857. for

  858. salvation

  859. then

  860. you

  861. are

  862. headed

  863. for

  864. hell

  865. as

  866. is

  867. spoken

  868. of

  869. the

  870. love

  871. of

  872. God

  873. there

  874. is

  875. nothing

  876. that

  877. can

  878. separate

  879. us

  880. nor

  881. death

  882. nor

  883. famine

  884. nor

  885. things

  886. to

  887. come

  888. and

  889. for

  890. those

  891. who

  892. are

  893. not

  894. in

  895. Christ

  896. there

  897. is

  898. nothing

  899. that

  900. can

  901. separate

  902. you

  903. from

  904. the

  905. wrath

  906. of

  907. God

  908. if

  909. you

  910. are

  911. not

  912. in

  913. Christ

  914. I

  915. plead

  916. with

  917. you

  918. trust

  919. in

  920. his

  921. son

  922. trust

  923. in

  924. his

  925. son

  926. for

  927. salvation

  928. he

  929. sent

  930. his

  931. son

  932. because

  933. he

  934. loves

  935. you

  936. the

  937. second

  938. thing

  939. is

  940. if

  941. we

  942. are

  943. not

  944. trusting

  945. in

  946. God's

  947. sovereignty

  948. and

  949. that

  950. his

  951. purposes

  952. are

  953. good

  954. then

  955. we

  956. will

  957. fear

  958. his

  959. sovereignty

  960. and

  961. what

  962. he

  963. is

  964. doing

  965. this

  966. would

  967. look

  968. like

  969. random

  970. things

  971. happening

  972. different

  973. things

  974. in

  975. our

  976. life

  977. like

  978. car

  979. breaking

  980. down

  981. family

  982. kids

  983. whatever

  984. happening

  985. we would

  986. just

  987. start

  988. having

  989. anxiety

  990. right

  991. and we

  992. fear

  993. instead of

  994. trusting

  995. we must

  996. be like

  997. Job

  998. when

  999. God

  1000. took

  1001. everything

  1002. he fell

  1003. down

  1004. and

  1005. worshiped

  1006. we

  1007. must

  1008. remember

  1009. James

  1010. words

  1011. to

  1012. consider

  1013. it

  1014. pure

  1015. joy

  1016. in

  1017. various

  1018. trials

  1019. it

  1020. would

  1021. not

  1022. be

  1023. pure

  1024. joy

  1025. if

  1026. we

  1027. did

  1028. not

  1029. see

  1030. God's

  1031. hands

  1032. in

  1033. the

  1034. trials

  1035. that

  1036. we

  1037. are

  1038. receiving

  1039. are

  1040. you

  1041. in

  1042. trials

  1043. right

  1044. now

  1045. that

  1046. is

  1047. because

  1048. of

  1049. God's

  1050. ordaining

  1051. that's

  1052. not

  1053. by

  1054. any

  1055. other

  1056. means

  1057. consider

  1058. it

  1059. pure

  1060. joy

  1061. and

  1062. it's

  1063. good

  1064. as

  1065. James

  1066. says

  1067. not

  1068. only

  1069. for

  1070. perseverance

  1071. but

  1072. that

  1073. you

  1074. would

  1075. remember

  1076. that

  1077. it's

  1078. God's

  1079. hands

  1080. that's

  1081. in

  1082. your

  1083. life

  1084. and

  1085. even

  1086. in

  1087. discipline

  1088. we

  1089. must

  1090. remember

  1091. that

  1092. God

  1093. disciplines

  1094. those

  1095. he

  1096. loves

  1097. if

  1098. we

  1099. do

  1100. not

  1101. worship

  1102. God

  1103. and

  1104. in

  1105. his

  1106. sovereignty

  1107. in

  1108. both

  1109. the

  1110. good

  1111. and

  1112. the

  1113. bad

  1114. we

  1115. will

  1116. begin

  1117. to

  1118. grumble

  1119. and

  1120. blame

  1121. God

  1122. for

  1123. all

  1124. the

  1125. evils

  1126. in

  1127. our

  1128. life

  1129. and

  1130. we

  1131. will

  1132. start

  1133. boasting

  1134. ourselves

  1135. to see

  1136. that

  1137. oh

  1138. I

  1139. did

  1140. this

  1141. no

  1142. no

  1143. we

  1144. must

  1145. trust

  1146. him

  1147. wait

  1148. upon

  1149. him

  1150. we

  1151. must

  1152. have

  1153. faith

  1154. in

  1155. him

  1156. the

  1157. third

  1158. thing

  1159. is

  1160. if

  1161. we

  1162. do

  1163. not

  1164. see

  1165. that

  1166. God

  1167. is

  1168. sovereign

  1169. in

  1170. evangelism

  1171. that

  1172. he

  1173. is

  1174. the

  1175. means

  1176. and

  1177. the

  1178. ends

  1179. of

  1180. evangelism

  1181. then

  1182. all

  1183. of

  1184. the

  1185. pressure

  1186. will

  1187. be

  1188. upon

  1189. ourselves

  1190. God

  1191. has

  1192. ordained

  1193. all

  1194. things

  1195. right

  1196. as I've

  1197. said

  1198. throughout

  1199. this

  1200. entire

  1201. sermon

  1202. but

  1203. he

  1204. has

  1205. called

  1206. me

  1207. and

  1208. he

  1209. has

  1210. called

  1211. you

  1212. to

  1213. preach

  1214. his

  1215. word

  1216. right

  1217. some

  1218. might

  1219. say

  1220. well

  1221. if

  1222. God

  1223. has

  1224. ordained

  1225. everything

  1226. why

  1227. doesn't

  1228. God

  1229. just

  1230. save

  1231. everyone

  1232. or

  1233. do

  1234. I

  1235. really

  1236. need

  1237. to

  1238. go

  1239. and

  1240. preach

  1241. if

  1242. God

  1243. will

  1244. just

  1245. save

  1246. them

  1247. yes

  1248. you

  1249. do

  1250. need

  1251. to

  1252. go

  1253. and

  1254. preach

  1255. because

  1256. that

  1257. is

  1258. God's

  1259. ways

  1260. in

  1261. the

  1262. same

  1263. way

  1264. you

  1265. need

  1266. to

  1267. pray

  1268. also

  1269. because

  1270. in

  1271. God's

  1272. sovereign

  1273. decree

  1274. he

  1275. acts

  1276. by

  1277. your

  1278. prayers

  1279. and

  1280. he

  1281. saves

  1282. by

  1283. you

  1284. going

  1285. and

  1286. preaching

  1287. God's

  1288. ways

  1289. are

  1290. mysterious

  1291. but

  1292. there

  1293. should

  1294. be

  1295. no

  1296. pressure

  1297. that

  1298. you

  1299. put

  1300. upon

  1301. yourself

  1302. for

  1303. someone

  1304. being

  1305. saved

  1306. because

  1307. it

  1308. is

  1309. God

  1310. that

  1311. does

  1312. the

  1313. saving

  1314. now

  1315. a common

  1316. reason

  1317. that we

  1318. don't

  1319. evangelize

  1320. or

  1321. when

  1322. the

  1323. opportunity

  1324. is

  1325. preaching

  1326. we

  1327. feign

  1328. from

  1329. the

  1330. opportunity

  1331. is

  1332. because

  1333. of

  1334. fear

  1335. right

  1336. as

  1337. Christians

  1338. and

  1339. especially

  1340. as a

  1341. church

  1342. plant

  1343. the

  1344. worst

  1345. thing

  1346. that

  1347. we

  1348. could

  1349. do

  1350. in

  1351. evangelism

  1352. if

  1353. we're

  1354. preaching

  1355. the

  1356. true

  1357. gospel

  1358. is

  1359. do

  1360. nothing

  1361. failure

  1362. in

  1363. evangelism

  1364. is

  1365. doing

  1366. nothing

  1367. right

  1368. you

  1369. have

  1370. the

  1371. true

  1372. gospel

  1373. and

  1374. you

  1375. choose

  1376. to

  1377. do

  1378. nothing

  1379. with

  1380. it

  1381. you

  1382. choose

  1383. to

  1384. sit

  1385. with

  1386. it

  1387. that

  1388. that

  1389. is

  1390. true

  1391. failure

  1392. rejection

  1393. is

  1394. not

  1395. failure

  1396. in

  1397. evangelism

  1398. rejection

  1399. saying

  1400. maybe

  1401. the

  1402. next

  1403. one

  1404. we'll

  1405. hear

  1406. and

  1407. receive

  1408. right

  1409. and

  1410. so

  1411. I

  1412. encourage

  1413. you

  1414. as

  1415. we

  1416. are

  1417. church

  1418. blend

  1419. don't

  1420. preach

  1421. God's

  1422. word

  1423. he's

  1424. got

  1425. you

  1426. in

  1427. his
