  1. So we're picking things up where we left off.

  2. Jesus is teaching at the temple courts.

  3. And we can see that in verse 20,

  4. kind of the last verse of our section this morning.

  5. It says,

  6. So Jesus is still there in Jerusalem,

  7. everything we're about to read today that Jesus said,

  8. and that was said to him,

  9. happened there at the temple courts while he was teaching.

  10. Up until now, the Pharisees have been kind of lurking around in the background.

  11. If you remember back to chapter 7,

  12. they sent some temple guards to arrest Jesus.

  13. But then the guards decided not to arrest him

  14. because they were amazed by Jesus' teaching.

  15. They didn't think they should arrest a man who teaches like Jesus did.

  16. So they came back empty-handed.

  17. Well, now finally, the Pharisees are about to challenge Jesus openly.

  18. And just imagine yourself there in the temple courts,

  19. watching them, watching Jesus,

  20. waiting for the opportune moment to confront him.

  21. And finally, Jesus says something.

  22. Something big that they simply cannot just let go unchecked,

  23. at least in their minds.

  24. Verse 12.

  25. When Jesus spoke again to the people,

  26. he said,

  27. I am the light of the world.

  28. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,

  29. but will have the light of life.

  30. What a claim to make.

  31. The Pharisees see this as their opportune moment,

  32. and they seize it.

  33. Verse 13.

  34. The Pharisees challenged him.

  35. Here you are,

  36. appearing as your own witness.

  37. Your testimony is not valid.

  38. Quite literally, they say to him,

  39. you are testifying about yourself.

  40. Your testimony is not true.

  41. There's a bit of a translation issue here.

  42. About half of the translations have the Pharisees saying,

  43. your testimony is not true.

  44. The other half have it,

  45. your testimony is not valid.

  46. It's not the easiest thing to translate.

  47. The word used here usually means true,

  48. but in this place,

  49. and in at least one other place in John,

  50. where Jesus has used this word,

  51. it could mean valid.

  52. It could mean dependable,

  53. or trustworthy.

  54. So, either the Pharisees are accusing Jesus outright

  55. of speaking what is false.

  56. Your testimony is not true.

  57. Or, the Pharisees are trying to challenge

  58. whether what Jesus is saying can be trusted.

  59. Your testimony is not valid.

  60. It's not trustworthy.

  61. The first possibility,

  62. a little more overt and direct.

  63. The second, a little more subtle,

  64. which it is, I'm not sure, to be honest.

  65. But either way,

  66. the Pharisees are challenging Jesus.

  67. They are trying to cast doubt on him,

  68. and to get the people to doubt what he is saying

  69. about being the light of the world.

  70. And their charge comes with a reason.

  71. Here's how we know that what he's claiming is not true,

  72. is not valid.

  73. They say,

  74. here you are appearing as your own witness.

  75. You're testifying about yourself.

  76. And we all know better than to just accept as true

  77. what a person says about themselves.

  78. Don't we?

  79. We even think like that today, don't we?

  80. Maybe you go online,

  81. and you're looking for a specific product or service,

  82. and you go to the webpage of that company,

  83. and what does it say?

  84. It says,

  85. we offer the best service or product around.

  86. We're the best in the business.

  87. Our product is better than all the competitors.

  88. By now, most of us probably know that

  89. almost every company claims that for themselves.

  90. No, we want to hear the testimony of others

  91. about your product or your service.

  92. We want to read some reviews.

  93. We want to talk to somebody who's done business with you

  94. to confirm that you really are the best.

  95. Because anybody can claim for themselves

  96. to be the best or to have the best.

  97. So the Pharisees are trying to cause the people

  98. to question and doubt Jesus.

  99. And personally,

  100. I don't think this is just the Pharisees talking here.

  101. I hear the insidious whisper of Satan himself

  102. in these words.

  103. Can you really trust what this man is saying,

  104. what he is claiming for himself?

  105. Does that not sound familiar?

  106. Verse 14.

  107. Jesus answered,

  108. Even if I testify about myself,

  109. my testimony is true.

  110. For I know where I came from

  111. and where I am going.

  112. But you do not know where I come from

  113. or where I am going.

  114. Again, there are both possibilities

  115. possibilities with the word true or valid here.

  116. It's possible even that there's a play

  117. on that word going on here.

  118. Maybe the Pharisees are subtly calling into question

  119. whether Jesus' testimony is trustworthy, valid.

  120. But Jesus, as he responds,

  121. is claiming not just to have a valid testimony,

  122. but a true one.

  123. As Jesus responds,

  124. he uses an if statement.

  125. He says,

  126. even if I testify about myself,

  127. my testimony is true.

  128. Now,

  129. he gives a reason.

  130. And it's kind of a strange reason.

  131. For I know where I came from

  132. and where I am going.

  133. But you do not know where I come from

  134. or where I am going.

  135. I can testify about myself

  136. and my testimony is true

  137. because I know where I came from

  138. and where I am going.

  139. That's kind of a strange way to reason,

  140. isn't it?

  141. Doesn't that sound weird to you?

  142. It kind of sounds weird to me.

  143. How does Jesus,

  144. knowing where he came from

  145. and where he is going,

  146. give validity

  147. and credibility

  148. to his testimony?

  149. Well, I think to get a hang on this,

  150. we kind of have to

  151. step back for a minute

  152. and think of the bigger conversation here.

  153. One of the big issues right now with Jesus

  154. is where he is from.

  155. We've heard this

  156. again and again.

  157. You remember back to chapter 7?

  158. What did the crowd say there?

  159. Isn't this the man they're trying to kill?

  160. Here he is,

  161. speaking publicly

  162. and they're not saying a word to him.

  163. Have the authorities really concluded

  164. that he is the Messiah?

  165. Oh, but we know

  166. where this man is from.

  167. When the Messiah comes,

  168. no one will know

  169. where he is from.

  170. We know where this man is from,

  171. they said.

  172. He can't be the Messiah.

  173. Again,

  174. down in verse 40.

  175. On hearing his words,

  176. some of the people said,

  177. surely this man is the prophet.

  178. Others said,

  179. he is the Messiah.

  180. Still others asked,

  181. well,

  182. how can the Messiah come from Galilee?

  183. Does not scripture say

  184. that the Messiah will come from

  185. David's descendants

  186. and from Bethlehem,

  187. the town where David lived?

  188. Again,

  189. again,

  190. we see this whole discussion

  191. of where Jesus is from.

  192. He can't be the Messiah

  193. because he's not from the right place.

  194. And now finally,

  195. we come to Jesus' own words

  196. in verse 14.

  197. He says,

  198. I know where I came from,

  199. but you have no idea

  200. where I came from.

  201. So the big question is,

  202. where does Jesus come from?

  203. Well,

  204. they're right in a sense.

  205. He does come from Galilee.

  206. That's where he's been traveling.

  207. That's where he's been doing his ministry.

  208. He does come from Nazareth.

  209. That's where,

  210. that's his hometown.

  211. That's where he's been living

  212. with his parents

  213. for the last while.

  214. He also comes from Bethlehem,

  215. the town of David.

  216. We talked about this

  217. a couple weeks ago.

  218. He was born there.

  219. But none of these things

  220. are what Jesus has in mind.

  221. No,

  222. Jesus has something else in mind.

  223. And we've heard him say it

  224. back in Galilee.

  225. Where is Jesus from?

  226. What did he say

  227. after the feeding of the 5,000?

  228. John 6,

    John 6:38

  229. verse 38.

  230. For I have come down from heaven.

  231. For I have come down from heaven.

  232. Let those words sink in.

  233. What does that mean?

  234. As we've seen right from the beginning

  235. of John's gospel,

  236. it means that Jesus is no ordinary man.

  237. It means that before Jesus

  238. took on human flesh,

  239. he was

  240. in heaven.

  241. Do you remember what Jesus said

  242. to Nicodemus?

  243. John 3,

    John 3:31

  244. verse 31.

  245. He said to Nicodemus,

  246. I have spoken to you

  247. of earthly things

  248. and you do not believe.

  249. How then will you believe

  250. if I speak of heavenly things?

  251. And we can imagine Nicodemus wondering,

  252. well, what do you mean?

  253. Speak of heavenly things.

  254. How can you tell us

  255. about heavenly things?

  256. Jesus answers

  257. that question.

  258. He says,

  259. no one has ever

  260. gone into heaven

  261. except

  262. the one who came from heaven.

  263. The son of man.

  264. Essentially,

  265. he tells Nicodemus,

  266. yes,

  267. I can tell you

  268. about heavenly things

  269. because unlike every other

  270. human being on the planet,

  271. I've been there.

  272. I'm from there.

  273. I came down from heaven.

  274. We can't miss the significance of this.

  275. This isn't just trivia,

  276. like where is so-and-so born?

  277. Where are they from?

  278. No,

  279. this is,

  280. this means,

  281. this has huge implications

  282. implications.

  283. And John,

  284. the gospel writer,

  285. spells it out for us

  286. a little bit

  287. in chapter 3,

  288. verse 31.

  289. He says,

  290. the one who comes from above

  291. is above all.

  292. The one who's from the earth

  293. belongs to the earth

  294. and speaks as one

  295. from the earth.

  296. But the one who comes from heaven

  297. is above all.

  298. He testifies to what he has seen

  299. and heard.

  300. From where?

  301. Seen from heaven,

  302. heard from heaven,

  303. from God,

  304. from his Father in heaven.

  305. But no one accepts his testimony.

  306. Whoever has accepted it

  307. has certified that God is truthful.

  308. For the one whom God has sent

  309. speaks the words of God.

  310. this is what the Pharisees

  311. do not know

  312. about where Jesus is from.

  313. And probably more precisely,

  314. this is what the Pharisees

  315. refuse to acknowledge

  316. or believe

  317. about Jesus.

  318. No,

  319. you are just a man

  320. and being a man

  321. like the rest of us,

  322. you need someone else

  323. to confirm

  324. your testimony.

  325. You need someone else

  326. to validate

  327. your grandiose claims

  328. about yourself.

  329. But Jesus is saying,

  330. actually,

  331. I don't.

  332. I know who I am.

  333. And you guys have no idea

  334. who I am.

  335. Because Jesus comes from heaven,

  336. he doesn't need

  337. a second human witness.

  338. He doesn't need any man

  339. here on earth

  340. to validate

  341. the truthfulness

  342. of his testimony,

  343. of what he's saying.

  344. And actually,

  345. I think it's maybe

  346. implied a little bit

  347. in these words.

  348. I think Jesus is saying,

  349. you Pharisees

  350. are not in a position

  351. to judge me.

  352. You don't even know

  353. where I came from

  354. or where I'm going.

  355. How could you possibly

  356. judge me rightly,

  357. accurately?

  358. Now,

  359. we're not going to talk

  360. too much this morning

  361. about where Jesus

  362. is going.

  363. We'll get to that

  364. after Easter.

  365. But we've already heard

  366. that Jesus

  367. tell the people

  368. that he's going away.

  369. And where he's going,

  370. they can't come.

  371. They can't follow him.

  372. And the people

  373. are confused.

  374. Where is that?

  375. But as we'll see

  376. later in John's gospel,

  377. the place he is going

  378. is to the Father.

  379. It's back

  380. to heaven.

  381. And if Jesus can go

  382. where no man has gone,

  383. it's proof

  384. that his testimony

  385. is indeed true.

  386. Verse 15.

  387. Jesus says,

  388. you judge by human standards.

  389. I pass judgment

  390. on no one.

  391. But if I do judge,

  392. my decisions are true

  393. because I am not alone.

  394. I stand

  395. with the Father

  396. who sent me.

  397. So Jesus makes it

  398. somewhat plain.

  399. He tells them,

  400. you guys are judging

  401. by human standards.

  402. Literally,

  403. it's according to the flesh.

  404. According to that part of me

  405. that you can see

  406. and touch.

  407. But Jesus is more

  408. than just flesh

  409. and blood

  410. like we are.

  411. The problem

  412. with the Pharisees

  413. is that they're trying

  414. to judge Jesus

  415. as if he were

  416. any other man.

  417. They're trying

  418. to apply the law

  419. to him

  420. as if he were

  421. just any other

  422. Jewish guy.

  423. But Jesus is more

  424. than just a man.

  425. He is the divine

  426. Son of God

  427. who has come down

  428. from heaven

  429. to live among us.

  430. Jesus says,

  431. I'm not here to judge.

  432. but even if I were

  433. to judge,

  434. my judgment

  435. is true.

  436. But listen to this.

  437. He says,

  438. my judgment

  439. is true

  440. because

  441. I am not alone.

  442. I stand

  443. with the Father

  444. who sent me.

  445. What is Jesus

  446. saying here?

  447. I think what he's

  448. saying is simply

  449. that he is not here

  450. now to judge

  451. in this moment

  452. in the temple courts.

  453. I don't think

  454. he means

  455. that he will

  456. never judge anyone.

  457. In fact,

  458. the last time

  459. he was here

  460. in Jerusalem,

  461. he told them

  462. that God,

  463. his Father,

  464. has entrusted

  465. all judgment,

  466. the final judgment

  467. to him,

  468. the Son.

  469. But I think

  470. he means

  471. that right now,

  472. right here,

  473. he is not here

  474. now to judge

  475. anyone.

  476. But even

  477. if he was

  478. to judge

  479. right now,

  480. his judgment

  481. would be true.

  482. His verdicts

  483. would be just.

  484. His decisions

  485. would be right.

  486. Why?

  487. Because he would

  488. not judge alone.

  489. He says,

  490. I stand

  491. with the Father

  492. who sent me.

  493. If we recall

  494. back to John

    John 5 chapter mention

  495. chapter 5,

  496. when he was

  497. last in Jerusalem,

  498. Jesus said this.

  499. He said,

  500. do not be amazed

  501. at this.

  502. For a time

  503. is coming

  504. when all

  505. who are

  506. in their graves

  507. will hear

  508. his voice

  509. and come out.

  510. Those who

  511. have done

  512. what is good

  513. will rise

  514. to live.

  515. And those

  516. who have

  517. done

  518. what is evil

  519. will rise

  520. to be condemned.

  521. And then

  522. Jesus says this.

  523. He says,

  524. by myself

  525. I can do

  526. nothing.

  527. I judge

  528. only as I

  529. hear.

  530. And my

  531. judgment

  532. is just.

  533. For I

  534. seek not

  535. to please

  536. myself,

  537. but him

  538. who sent

  539. me.

  540. Jesus

  541. will judge

  542. perfectly

  543. when he

  544. does.

  545. Justly.

  546. Rightly.

  547. Because his

  548. judgment will

  549. be based on

  550. what he

  551. hears from

  552. God,

  553. the Father.

  554. The one

  555. who knows

  556. and sees

  557. everything

  558. about everyone.

  559. At this

  560. point,

  561. Jesus comes

  562. back to

  563. the charge

  564. that the

  565. Pharisees

  566. have made

  567. against him.

  568. I don't

  569. need a

  570. human

  571. testimony.

  572. I don't

  573. need a

  574. human

  575. stamp of

  576. approval

  577. on my

  578. testimony.

  579. But let's

  580. come back

  581. to that

  582. law,

  583. which says

  584. that there

  585. should be

  586. two witnesses.

  587. Chapter

  588. 8,

  589. verse 17,

  590. Jesus says,

  591. in your

  592. own law

  593. it is

  594. written

  595. that the

  596. testimony

  597. of two

  598. witnesses

  599. is true.

  600. I am

  601. one who

  602. testifies

  603. for myself.

  604. My other

  605. witness is

  606. the Father

  607. who sent

  608. me.

  609. If you've

  610. read through

  611. the first

  612. couple books

  613. of the

  614. Bible,

  615. you'll know

  616. that God

  617. said back

  618. in the

  619. law for

  620. Israel that

  621. people weren't

  622. to be

  623. condemned in

  624. court unless

  625. there was

  626. two witnesses

  627. of the

  628. crime that

  629. had been

  630. committed.

  631. This was

  632. partly to

  633. give extra

  634. protection to

  635. those who

  636. might be

  637. falsely

  638. accused by

  639. someone.

  640. Even though

  641. Jesus has

  642. no need

  643. of another

  644. witness to

  645. verify the

  646. truthfulness of

  647. his claims,

  648. he comes back

  649. to this law

  650. that they're

  651. trying to

  652. use against

  653. him and

  654. he says,

  655. actually in

  656. my case,

  657. there are

  658. two witnesses.

  659. I'm one of

  660. them and my

  661. Father who sent

  662. me is the

  663. other witness.

  664. God, my

  665. Father, does

  666. not expect

  667. you to

  668. just take

  669. my word

  670. for it.

  671. He himself

  672. is testifying

  673. about me.

  674. And we're

  675. not going to

  676. go into a

  677. full look at

  678. how the

  679. Father testifies

  680. about Jesus

  681. this morning.

  682. We did that

  683. back on

  684. September 20th.

  685. You can

  686. look it up

  687. online in

  688. the message

  689. Why Should

  690. We Believe

  691. You?

  692. But basically

  693. we looked at

  694. three ways that

  695. the Father

  696. testifies about

  697. Jesus.

  698. Jesus.

  699. The Father

  700. testifies about

  701. Jesus through

  702. the miraculous

  703. works that

  704. he does,

  705. through the

  706. words that

  707. God gave the

  708. prophets to

  709. speak about

  710. Jesus long

  711. before Jesus

  712. came, and

  713. through the

  714. audible voice

  715. from heaven

  716. that came at

  717. Jesus' baptism.

  718. And we can

  719. add a fourth

  720. way to that

  721. that we've seen

  722. as we've been

  723. going along

  724. here.

  725. Since Jesus

  726. in his own

  727. words only

  728. ever speaks

  729. what he hears

  730. from the

  731. Father and

  732. what the

  733. Father commands

  734. him to

  735. say, we

  736. might say

  737. that the

  738. Father himself

  739. is actually

  740. testifying about

  741. Jesus every

  742. time that Jesus

  743. opens his

  744. mouth to

  745. speak.

  746. It's kind

  747. of a hard

  748. thing to wrap

  749. our minds

  750. around, but

  751. when Jesus

  752. speaks, both

  753. he and his

  754. Father are

  755. speaking at

  756. the same

  757. time.

  758. According to

  759. Jesus, that's

  760. how they work

  761. together.

  762. But it's

  763. here that it

  764. would have been

  765. interesting to

  766. listen, to

  767. watch the

  768. reaction of

  769. the people

  770. as Jesus

  771. says this.

  772. As he

  773. says, I

  774. call my

  775. father as

  776. my other

  777. witness.

  778. The Pharisees,

  779. they don't

  780. miss a beat.

  781. They say,

  782. where is your

  783. father?

  784. Where is your

  785. father?

  786. father?

  787. Of course, they

  788. already know that

  789. Jesus is

  790. referring to

  791. God.

  792. This has

  793. already come

  794. up before with

  795. them.

  796. They didn't

  797. like him.

  798. They were

  799. going after

  800. him back in

  801. chapter 5

  802. because he

  803. was calling

  804. God his

  805. own father.

  806. But even

  807. though they

  808. know he's

  809. talking about

  810. God, they

  811. still ask the

  812. question, oh,

  813. you have a

  814. second witness,

  815. do you?

  816. Great.

  817. Let's bring

  818. him in to

  819. testify.

  820. where is

  821. your

  822. father?

  823. Now, Jesus

  824. could have

  825. simply said,

  826. my father's

  827. in heaven.

  828. But instead,

  829. Jesus says to

  830. them, you

  831. do not know

  832. me or my

  833. father.

  834. You do not

  835. know me or

  836. my father.

  837. And the

  838. crowd, I

  839. don't know if

  840. they realized

  841. it or not,

  842. but Jesus

  843. just told the

  844. Pharisees to

  845. their faces,

  846. you do

  847. not know

  848. God.

  849. You do

  850. not know

  851. my father,

  852. God.

  853. And then he

  854. throws in this

  855. little statement

  856. that probably

  857. struck a nerve

  858. in them,

  859. but I think

  860. is also a

  861. gracious

  862. opportunity to

  863. them.

  864. He says,

  865. if you knew

  866. me,

  867. you would

  868. know my

  869. father also.

  870. if you

  871. knew me,

  872. you would

  873. know my

  874. father also.

  875. What a

  876. statement.

  877. Notice that

  878. he didn't

  879. say, if you

  880. knew my

  881. father, then

  882. you would

  883. recognize that

  884. I'm his

  885. son.

  886. That's maybe

  887. what we

  888. expected him

  889. to say.

  890. No, he

  891. doesn't say

  892. that.

  893. He says, if

  894. you knew

  895. me, you

  896. would know

  897. my father

  898. also.

  899. do you

  900. want to

  901. know

  902. God?

  903. Then get

  904. to know

  905. me, says

  906. Jesus, and

  907. you will.

  908. Wow.

  909. Jesus has

  910. been sent

  911. by God

  912. from heaven

  913. into our

  914. world so

  915. that you

  916. and I

  917. can know

  918. God.

  919. God.

  920. God.

  921. He is the

  922. messenger.

  923. He is the

  924. prophet.

  925. He is the

  926. one who

  927. speaks for

  928. God.

  929. He is the

  930. son who

  931. has come

  932. on behalf

  933. of his

  934. father.

  935. And as

  936. we'll find

  937. out in a

  938. few more

  939. chapters,

  940. next chapter,

  941. he himself

  942. is one

  943. with the

  944. father.

  945. And

  946. mysteriously

  947. is himself

  948. God in

  949. human flesh.

  950. church.

  951. So it

  952. all started

  953. with that

  954. amazing

  955. declaration

  956. by Jesus,

  957. I am the

  958. light of

  959. the world.

  960. And we

  961. will talk

  962. about that

  963. more another

  964. day.

  965. But what

  966. John wants

  967. us to see

  968. here is

  969. how that

  970. day when

  971. he said

  972. it, the

  973. religious

  974. leaders challenged

  975. him to his

  976. face.

  977. What John

  978. wants us to

  979. see is how

  980. Jesus responded

  981. to their

  982. challenge that

  983. day in

  984. front of

  985. everyone.

  986. in the

  987. temple

  988. courts.

  989. Not only

  990. did he

  991. claim to

  992. be the

  993. light of

  994. the world,

  995. but he

  996. claimed to

  997. be from

  998. heaven.

  999. He claimed

  1000. to be sent

  1001. from God.

  1002. He claimed

  1003. to be one

  1004. who, unlike

  1005. every other

  1006. human being,

  1007. needs no

  1008. secondary human

  1009. witness to

  1010. his truthfulness.

  1011. And yet, he

  1012. claimed to be

  1013. one who has

  1014. the greatest

  1015. witness of

  1016. all, God

  1017. himself.

  1018. He claimed

  1019. to be the

  1020. one who

  1021. could judge

  1022. justly,

  1023. today,

  1024. had it

  1025. been the

  1026. day for

  1027. judgment.

  1028. Do you

  1029. hear what

  1030. Jesus is

  1031. saying?

  1032. Do you

  1033. believe him?

  1034. Do you

  1035. believe that

  1036. God speaks

  1037. through him?

  1038. God speaks

  1039. to be the

  1040. Lord?

  1041. I want to

  1042. encourage you

  1043. to put

  1044. yourself in

  1045. the crowd

  1046. that day

  1047. as you're

  1048. listening to

  1049. this back

  1050. and forth.

  1051. What's going

  1052. on in your

  1053. mind?

  1054. As I was

  1055. thinking that,

  1056. I couldn't

  1057. help but think

  1058. it all comes

  1059. back to this

  1060. question.

  1061. Do I

  1062. know God?

  1063. Do you

  1064. know God?

  1065. God?

  1066. And I

  1067. don't mean

  1068. know about

  1069. him.

  1070. The

  1071. religious

  1072. leaders,

  1073. they knew

  1074. about God,

  1075. but they

  1076. didn't know

  1077. God,

  1078. as in

  1079. personally,

  1080. as in

  1081. relationship.

  1082. Do you

  1083. know God?

  1084. Do you

  1085. want to

  1086. know God

  1087. more,

  1088. better,

  1089. deeper?

  1090. Jesus

  1091. says,

  1092. then get

  1093. to know

  1094. me,

  1095. and you

  1096. will.

  1097. One

  1098. amazing

  1099. invitation.

  1100. I pray

  1101. that we

  1102. all respond

  1103. to it.

  1104. Lord

  1105. Jesus,

  1106. thank you

  1107. for your

  1108. words.

  1109. We admit,

  1110. we confess

  1111. that you

  1112. don't always

  1113. say what

  1114. we expect

  1115. or what

  1116. we maybe

  1117. think you

  1118. should say

  1119. or want

  1120. to say,

  1121. but these

  1122. are your

  1123. words.

  1124. we do

  1125. want to

  1126. know God.

  1127. Would you

  1128. reveal more

  1129. and more

  1130. to our

  1131. hearts who

  1132. the Father

  1133. is?

  1134. We don't

  1135. want to be

  1136. like the

  1137. Pharisees,

  1138. Lord.

  1139. We don't

  1140. want to be

  1141. people who

  1142. just put

  1143. on a

  1144. masquerade

  1145. of religiosity

  1146. for others

  1147. to see.

  1148. This is

  1149. real or

  1150. it's not

  1151. real,

  1152. and I

  1153. pray,

  1154. Lord,

  1155. that in

  1156. all of

  1157. our

  1158. hearts,

  1159. it would

  1160. be real.

  1161. Make it

  1162. real.

  1163. In our

  1164. hearts,

  1165. we pray.

  1166. We ask

  1167. this in

  1168. your name.

  1169. Amen.

  1170. Amen.

  1171. Amen.

  1172. Thank you.
