  1. Well, welcome here this morning, and when I was asked to share God's Word, at first I didn't want to.

  2. And, yeah, I was very nervous. I'm not like my son at all.

  3. But one thing, my son, he said, just go ahead for it, Dad, and we'll be praying for you.

  4. And usually when I see his sermon notes, they're about one page.

  5. And he makes a sermon of it.

  6. And so this morning, I've got four pages, so beware.

  7. I hope you didn't put the turkey on because it's going to probably take about four hours to get through this sermon this morning.

  8. But anyways, as we read, I would just like to first start off with prayer.

  9. Please join me in prayer.

  10. Our Heavenly Father, I just want to thank you for this day.

  11. I thank you for this opportunity to share your words, Lord.

  12. And I just pray that as I share, I just pray that you would speak through me to everyone here today.

  13. And I just thank you for this weekend that we can celebrate thankfulness.

  14. And I'm so thankful that you are a living God and that you live in each one of us.

  15. And, Lord, I just pray that as we spend this next little time studying your word,

  16. I just pray that you would just speak to us in your precious name.

  17. Amen.

  18. Please, I just want to start with Matthew 24, verses 1 to 14.

    Matthew 24:1–14

  19. And it says,

  20. Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.

  21. Do you see all these things, he asked.

  22. I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another.

  23. Every one will be thrown down.

  24. As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.

  25. Tell us, they said, when will this happen and what will be the sign of your coming in the end of the age?

  26. Jesus answered, watch out that no one deceives you.

  27. For many will come in my name, claiming I am the Christ and will deceive many.

  28. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars.

  29. But see to it that you are not alarmed.

  30. Such things must happen.

  31. But the end is still to come.

  32. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.

  33. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

  34. All these are the beginnings of birth pains.

  35. Then you will be handed over and to be persecuted and put to death.

  36. And you will be hated by all nations because of me.

  37. At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will be betrayed and hate each other.

  38. And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

  39. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

  40. But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

  41. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations.

  42. And then the end will come.

  43. As I read that, it sounds like that's where we are today.

  44. We are being deceived and we don't know what to believe.

  45. And as I thought of that, I thought, you know, just looking around, you listen to the news and you see the hopelessness in people.

  46. People are committing suicide.

  47. And it just breaks my heart to think of what is going on in our world.

  48. And as I thought of that, I was thinking of how can you share or what if somebody was to ask you,

  49. what is it the hope that you have in you?

  50. How would you share that with people that ask you that?

  51. And as I thought of the word hope, I thought of the letters H-O-P-E.

  52. And I would just like to share, going through that word hope, and what is the word hope stand for?

  53. What's the meaning of it?

  54. To desire something with confidence, expectation of its fulfillment.

  55. So the first letter is H, and what I want to share with you is his word.

  56. When I mention the word, the Bible or the word, what does it make you think about?

  57. Is it a book that you have in your house?

  58. Is it something that sits on a shelf?

  59. Is it collecting dust?

  60. Is it something if somebody asked you where your Bible is, would you know where it is?

  61. Or would you have to go searching for it?

  62. Is it collecting dust?

  63. Or is it a well-worn Bible?

  64. And I just wanted to see, and I did some history, and there's not much about Canadian statistics on reading the Bible.

  65. One question I want to ask is, have you read your Bible from cover to cover?

  66. And, you know, is it, do you pick up the Bible and read it only when you're going through trials,

  67. and you want God to help you through that situation?

  68. Or is it something that you study and read daily?

  69. And this is the statistics that I found in Canada, which is, they're quite old, but it is quite startling.

  70. The majority of Canadians, including those who identify themselves as Christian, read the Bible either seldom or never.

  71. That's one of the grim conclusions drawn by the Canadian Bible Engagement Study,

  72. a study conducted by the Angus Reid Forum and sponsored by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and the Canadian Bible Forum.

  73. As of 2013, only 14% of Canadians read the Bible at least once a month.

  74. That's half the percentage of the population, which was 28%, who read the Bible monthly back in 1996.

  75. These numbers came despite the fact that as of 2011, 67% of Canadians identified themselves as Christian, according to Statistics Canada.

  76. Isn't that pretty grim?

  77. 14%, and of that 14%, how many are actually Christians?

  78. 14% of Canadians.

  79. 15% of Canadians.

  80. 15% of Canadians.

  81. And I often think, how many times, Cindy's, the kids have the phone and they're asking,

  82. you know, what should we do?

  83. And Cindy's always presenting scripture.

  84. And do we do that?

  85. You know, I look at this and I go, this is life.

  86. This whole scripture entails life of all of us.

  87. What do we go through teaching?

  88. And each one of us, what do we look to?

  89. Do we look to Google? Do we go to self-help books to find the answers to life?

  90. Or do we actually go to the Bible?

  91. Which it says here, it was God breathed.

  92. And it's useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training.

  93. That is life right there.

  94. And you think of it, if you want to correct, is your first source God's word?

  95. Or is it some other help?

  96. Training.

  97. We can train.

  98. And I think of Sunday school.

  99. We're training our kids to learn God's word, how important it is to know.

  100. So the whole Bible is the word of God.

  101. And everything in our life should be tested by what is written in it.

  102. And I'd like to read Psalm 119, 105 to 112.

  103. Please turn with me if you have your Bible with you.

  104. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

  105. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.

  106. I have suffered much.

  107. Preserve my life, O Lord, according to your word.

  108. Accept, O Lord, the willing praise of my mouth and teach me your laws.

  109. Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law.

  110. The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts.

  111. Your statutes are my heritage forever.

  112. They are the joy of my heart.

  113. My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.

  114. And as I read this and you think of, it says that at the start,

  115. your word is a lamp for my feet.

  116. Think of it in the dark.

  117. And what does a lamp do?

  118. It shines where the path is.

  119. And as we think of just even last week, the kids in the hallway were on this narrow path.

  120. And some of us adults were trying to persuade these kids to come off this path.

  121. And you know, in life, that's the way it is.

  122. Satan will come along and he will try to persuade you to get off the path.

  123. But yet, if you study God's word and you know the truths that are in it,

  124. are you easily swayed by when Satan comes along and tries to deceive you?

  125. But the light reveals the darkness.

  126. As we study God's word, we will be able to see clearly the evil that is present in our daily lives and in the world.

  127. Are we willing to take a stand for God and stay on the right path?

  128. Or are we easily swayed?

  129. In Mark 4, 1-4, it says,

  130. Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.

  131. After forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

  132. The tempter came to him and said,

  133. If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.

  134. And Jesus answered,

  135. It is written,

  136. Man does not live on bread alone,

  137. but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

  138. And I just wanted for you to turn,

  139. let's turn to Deuteronomy 8.3.

  140. And one thing here that I wanted to share with you is,

  141. even Satan was tempted.

  142. And when Satan was tempted in this particular situation, in the desert,

  143. can you imagine that after forty days and forty nights,

  144. what you would feel like,

  145. I can't even imagine doing this for one day,

  146. and how hungry I would be.

  147. But yet, look at Jesus for forty days and forty nights,

  148. and then Satan comes along and tempts him.

  149. And he tempts him with, you know,

  150. tells these stones to become food.

  151. And what does Christ,

  152. what's Christ's response?

  153. It is,

  154. Man does not live on bread alone,

  155. but every word that comes from the mouth of God.

  156. And if you go to Deuteronomy 8.3,

  157. he's defending Satan by reading Scripture.

  158. How important it is to know Scripture.

  159. And as we read Deuteronomy 8.3,

  160. which is written in Scripture,

  161. and it says,

  162. He humbled you,

  163. causing you to hunger,

  164. and then feeding you with manna,

  165. which neither you nor your fathers had known,

  166. to teach you that man does not live on bread alone,

  167. but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

  168. And do we,

  169. when Satan attempts to trick us,

  170. to trip us up,

  171. do we search God's word?

  172. Do we know God's word?

  173. Do we counter back at Satan and say,

  174. this is what Scripture says?

  175. And there's one situation,

  176. and I want to,

  177. I'm just going to leave it there for on the Matthew 4,

  178. Jesus was tempted two other times,

  179. and I'm going to leave you with some homework.

  180. And the other two times,

  181. did Christ mention God's,

  182. from God's word,

  183. did he,

  184. when Satan tempted him in the next two situations?

  185. And I'll,

  186. that'll be your homework for this week.

  187. Take God's word,

  188. study it,

  189. and those next two scenarios of where God was tempted,

  190. and did he use God's word to,

  191. to go against Satan?

  192. That'll be your homework,

  193. and I'll maybe ask you that next week.

  194. Anyways,

  195. as you can see,

  196. Jesus was able to resist all the devil's temptations,

  197. because he was not only,

  198. it was that he not only knew Scripture,

  199. but he also obeyed what it says.

  200. We will be tempted,

  201. and we'll need to know Scripture,

  202. so as not to be deceived.

  203. I once heard a guy say that,

  204. you know,

  205. if God took the time,

  206. and I'll just maybe read it here,

  207. if God has taken the time,

  208. through his Holy Spirit,

  209. to reveal his person and plan,

  210. to certain believers,

  211. who wrote down his message for his people,

  212. should we not take time to read his word.

  213. We need to be married.

  214. We need to be intimate in God's word.

  215. And,

  216. and I think it's so important that,

  217. as we read God's word,

  218. it's our,

  219. it's our survival guide.

  220. And I trust that,

  221. that you will,

  222. if you're not into a Bible plan,

  223. and you're not reading God's word,

  224. I would urge you,

  225. to,

  226. to get to,

  227. studying God's word daily.

  228. The word hope,

  229. that was the H,

  230. O,

  231. is,

  232. obedience.

  233. And I would just like to read,

  234. Deuteronomy,

  235. 26,

  236. 16,

  237. and 19.

  238. 19,

  239. right?

  240. Excuse me.

  241. The Lord your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws.

  242. Carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.

  243. You have declared this day that the Lord is your God and that you will walk in his ways,

  244. that you will keep his decrees, commands and laws, and that you will obey him.

  245. And the Lord has declared this day that you are his people, his treasured possession, as he promised,

  246. and that you are to keep all his commands.

  247. He has declared that he will set you in praise, fame and honor, high above all the nations.

  248. He has made, he has made, and that you will be a people holy to the Lord your God, as he promised.

  249. And in here I just wrote, look at the whole heart of devotion here.

  250. And what did it say?

  251. That you would keep his decrees, commands and laws, and that you will obey.

  252. It's one thing to know God's word, but do you actually obey it?

  253. And in Joshua 1, 8, 9, it says,

  254. Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth.

  255. Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.

  256. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

  257. Have I not commanded you?

  258. Be strong and courageous.

  259. Do not be terrified.

  260. Do not be discouraged.

  261. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

  262. And as I read through this, it was like, can you imagine?

  263. It says, do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth.

  264. You know, it's a book that you would study.

  265. You will know.

  266. And this really touched me.

  267. It was meditate on it day and night.

  268. Do we meditate on God's word day and night?

  269. Is it something that is on your mind continuously?

  270. Or has it been a book that you just only read occasionally,

  271. as the rest of the statistics shows?

  272. And in it, it says,

  273. To be careful to do everything written in it.

  274. It's a book that we need to know from cover to cover,

  275. so that we can know everything that is in it.

  276. And it says, be strong and courageous.

  277. And I looked at that and I thought, be strong and courageous.

  278. The task would be, it's not going to be easy.

  279. We need to be constantly reading and constantly studying God's word.

  280. In 1 Samuel 15, 22, it's, and just the story of that.

  281. And this is a story of King Saul when he was to go and conquer the Amalekites.

  282. And when he went and, you know, he went and he conquered them.

  283. But the Lord had, through Samuel,

  284. had told him that he was supposed to conquer everything

  285. and destroy everything from animals to people

  286. and destroy everything, not bring anything back.

  287. And what did Saul do?

  288. He, they kept some of the choice animals

  289. and they brought them back.

  290. And this is what 1 Samuel 15, 22 says.

  291. But Samuel replied,

  292. Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices

  293. as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord?

  294. To obey is better than sacrifice

  295. and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

  296. You know, God was grieved that Saul

  297. didn't obey him totally.

  298. You know, and the sacrifice that Saul wanted to do,

  299. his heart was not right in it.

  300. It wasn't, it was a false worship of what Saul wanted to do.

  301. But he grieved God that he didn't obey.

  302. And how many times do we grieve God

  303. because we don't obey what is written in his word?

  304. Matthew 7, 21 to 27 says,

  305. Not everyone who says to me,

  306. Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven,

  307. but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

  308. Many will say to me on that day,

  309. Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name

  310. and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?

  311. Then I will tell them plainly,

  312. I never knew you away from me, evil doers.

  313. Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine

  314. and puts them into practice is like a wise man

  315. who built his house on a rock.

  316. The rain came down, the streams rose,

  317. and the winds blew and beat against that house.

  318. Yet it did not fall because it had a foundation on the rock.

  319. But everyone who hears these words of mine

  320. and does not put them into practice

  321. is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

  322. The rain came down, the streams rose,

  323. and the winds blew and beat against the house.

  324. In this one,

  325. what does it mean to do the will of my Father?

  326. Obedience to his will is the test of true faith in Christ.

  327. When a person is truly born again,

  328. he has the Spirit of God living within him,

  329. and the Spirit enables him to know and do the will of God.

  330. We must stop with only hearing God's Word.

  331. Our hearing should result in doing.

  332. Are you willing to be obedient,

  333. or do you want to ignore?

  334. Acts 5, 29-32

  335. Peter and the other apostles replied,

  336. We must obey God rather than men.

  337. The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead,

  338. whom you have killed by hanging him on a tree.

  339. God exalted him to his own right hand as prince and savior,

  340. that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

  341. We are witnesses of these things,

  342. and so is the Holy Spirit,

  343. whom God has given to those who obey him.

  344. It's our imperative duty that we should listen.

  345. We should obey God.

  346. And Genesis 6,

  347. it's a story of Noah.

  348. And I'd like to read 9-22.

  349. This is the account of Noah.

  350. Noah was a righteous man,

  351. blameless among the people of his time.

  352. And he walked with God.

  353. Noah had three sons,

  354. Shem, Ham, and Dapheth.

  355. Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight

  356. and was full of violence.

  357. God saw how corrupt the earth had become,

  358. for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.

  359. So God said to Noah,

  360. I am going to put an end to all people,

  361. for the earth is filled with violence because of them.

  362. I am surely going to destroy them,

  363. both them and the earth.

  364. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood.

  365. Make rooms in it and coat it with pitch,

  366. inside and out.

  367. This is how you are to build it.

  368. The ark is to be 450 feet long,

  369. 75 feet wide,

  370. and 45 feet high.

  371. Make a roof for it

  372. and finish the ark

  373. to within 18 inches of the top.

  374. Put a door on the side of the ark

  375. and make lower, middle, and upper decks.

  376. I'm going to bring floodwaters on the earth

  377. to destroy all life under the heavens,

  378. every creature that has breath of life in it.

  379. Everything on earth will perish,

  380. but I will establish my covenant with you

  381. and you will enter the ark,

  382. you and your sons and your wives

  383. and your sons' wives with you.

  384. You are to bring into the ark

  385. two of all living creatures,

  386. male and female,

  387. to keep them alive with you,

  388. two of every kind of bird

  389. and every kind of animal

  390. and every kind of creature

  391. that moves along the ground

  392. will come to you to be kept alive.

  393. You are to take every kind of food

  394. that is to be eaten

  395. and store it away as food for you

  396. and for them.

  397. Noah did everything

  398. just as the God commanded him.

  399. Isn't it something that

  400. it took Noah over 100 years

  401. to build this ark

  402. and he listened to God

  403. and he listened to them

  404. specifics.

  405. He listened to the specifics.

  406. So,

  407. so,

  408. in hope,

  409. H was his word,

  410. O was obedience,

  411. P is prayer

  412. and prayer is so important.

  413. If you look at prayer,

  414. it goes hand in hand

  415. with reading God's word

  416. and in Daniel 6.10,

  417. it says,

  418. Now,

  419. when Daniel learned

  420. that the decree

  421. had been published,

  422. he went home

  423. to the upstairs room

  424. where the windows opened

  425. towards Jerusalem.

  426. Three times a day,

  427. he got down on his knees

  428. and prayed,

  429. giving thanks to his God

  430. just as he has done before.

  431. Daniel has been

  432. one of those

  433. people in the Bible

  434. that I just admire.

  435. You know,

  436. Daniel's a man,

  437. when you look at this situation,

  438. he still didn't

  439. quit praying

  440. and he not only prayed

  441. once a day,

  442. but he prayed

  443. three times a day.

  444. So,

  445. how many times

  446. do you guys,

  447. do we pray

  448. and how important

  449. is it in our lives?

  450. Matthew 6.9-13,

  451. is our Lord's Prayer

  452. and Jesus

  453. taught us

  454. how we should pray

  455. and

  456. from

  457. Matthew 6.9-13,

  458. it says,

  459. This then is how

  460. you should pray,

  461. our Father

  462. in heaven.

  463. Hallowed be your name.

  464. Your kingdom come,

  465. your will be done

  466. on earth

  467. as it is in heaven.

  468. Give us this day

  469. our daily bread.

  470. Forgive us our debts

  471. as we also have

  472. forgiven those,

  473. forgiven our debtors.

  474. And lead us not

  475. into temptation,

  476. but deliver us

  477. from the evil one.

  478. For thine is the kingdom,

  479. the power and the glory

  480. forever and ever.

  481. Amen.

  482. So,

  483. when we even look at

  484. prayer,

  485. it's,

  486. Jesus took time

  487. to show us

  488. in his word

  489. how we should pray.

  490. In Luke 5.15-16,

  491. yet the news spread

  492. about him

  493. all the more.

  494. So the crowds

  495. of the people

  496. came to hear him

  497. and to be healed

  498. of their sickness.

  499. But Jesus

  500. often withdrew

  501. to a lonely place

  502. and prayed.

  503. You know,

  504. through the busyness

  505. of life,

  506. do we take time

  507. to draw

  508. to a place

  509. where we can get

  510. by ourselves

  511. with God.

  512. And you know,

  513. we are,

  514. we live in a generation

  515. where we are so busy

  516. and it,

  517. and I guess

  518. even like this morning,

  519. Dr. David Jeremiah

  520. talked about that,

  521. to get away

  522. to,

  523. to that

  524. solemn place

  525. where we can spend time

  526. with our Lord.

  527. And,

  528. uh,

  529. um,

  530. Luke 6.12

  531. is,

  532. is one that,

  533. uh,

  534. is,

  535. uh,

  536. you look at this situation,

  537. how many times

  538. when Jesus

  539. got away

  540. to pray

  541. and,

  542. uh,

  543. and in Luke 6.

  544. Luke 6.

  545. verse 12.

  546. One of those days,

  547. Jesus went out

  548. to a mountainside

  549. to pray

  550. and spent the night

  551. praying to God.

  552. And I thought,

  553. you know,

  554. isn't that something?

  555. All night,

  556. how many of us

  557. have spent,

  558. you know,

  559. that many hours

  560. in prayer?

  561. And I thought,

  562. boy,

  563. that's just,

  564. uh,

  565. awesome that he spent

  566. all night.

  567. You know,

  568. and,

  569. and when you read

  570. further into this

  571. situation,

  572. it was before,

  573. uh,

  574. Jesus chose

  575. his 12 disciples.

  576. So he spent the night

  577. in prayer.

  578. You know,

  579. do we take time

  580. even to pray

  581. for those big issues

  582. in our life

  583. that,

  584. um,

  585. affect us?

  586. Do we

  587. take the time

  588. or do we just

  589. continue to go busy

  590. and we take it

  591. for granted,

  592. spend five minutes

  593. praying

  594. and expect our Lord

  595. to,

  596. to help us.

  597. And

  598. the next,

  599. uh,

  600. portion of scripture

  601. that I wanted

  602. to share with you

  603. is

  604. the whole,

  605. uh,

  606. chapter of verse

  607. of John,

  608. uh,

  609. chapter 17.

  610. And in these,

  611. this here,

  612. Jesus prays

  613. for himself,

  614. he prays

  615. for his disciples,

  616. and he prays

  617. for our future,

  618. the future believers.

  619. And as I read this,

  620. it just touched

  621. my heart

  622. to think of

  623. Jesus really

  624. cared for us

  625. and how important

  626. it is to pray.

  627. And I just,

  628. uh,

  629. wanted to read

  630. this whole chapter

  631. to you.

  632. After Jesus said

  633. this,

  634. he looked towards

  635. heaven and prayed,

  636. Father,

  637. the time has come.

  638. Glorify your son

  639. that your son

  640. may glorify you.

  641. For you granted

  642. him authority

  643. over all people

  644. that he might

  645. give eternal life

  646. to those

  647. who have given him.

  648. Now,

  649. this is eternal life

  650. that they may know

  651. you,

  652. the only true God

  653. and Jesus Christ

  654. whom you have,

  655. whom you have sent.

  656. I have brought

  657. you glory on earth

  658. by completing

  659. the work

  660. you gave me

  661. to do.

  662. And now,

  663. Father,

  664. glorify me

  665. in your presence

  666. with the glory

  667. I have with you

  668. before the world

  669. began.

  670. And then in verse 6,

  671. Jesus prays

  672. for his disciples.

  673. I have revealed

  674. you to those

  675. whom you gave me

  676. out of the world.

  677. They were yours,

  678. you gave them to me,

  679. and they have

  680. obeyed your word.

  681. Now they know

  682. that everything

  683. you have given me

  684. comes from you.

  685. for I gave them

  686. the words

  687. you gave me,

  688. and they accepted them.

  689. They knew with certainty

  690. that I came from you,

  691. and they believed

  692. that you sent me.

  693. I pray for them.

  694. I am not praying

  695. for the world,

  696. but for those

  697. you have given me,

  698. for they are yours.

  699. All I have is yours,

  700. and all you have

  701. is mine.

  702. And glory has come

  703. to me through them.

  704. I will remain

  705. in the world

  706. no longer,

  707. but they are still

  708. in the world,

  709. and I am coming

  710. to you.

  711. Holy Father,

  712. protect them

  713. by the power

  714. of your name,

  715. the name you gave me,

  716. so that they may

  717. be one

  718. as we are one.

  719. While I was with them,

  720. I protected them

  721. and kept them safe

  722. by the name you gave me.

  723. None has been lost

  724. except the one

  725. doomed to destruction,

  726. so that scripture

  727. would be fulfilled.

  728. I am coming

  729. to you now,

  730. but I say these things

  731. while I am still

  732. in the world,

  733. so that they may have

  734. the full measure

  735. of my joy

  736. within them.

  737. I have given them

  738. your word,

  739. and the world

  740. has hated them,

  741. for they are not

  742. of the world

  743. any more

  744. than I am

  745. of the world.

  746. My prayer is not

  747. that you take them

  748. out of the world,

  749. but that you protect them

  750. from the evil one.

  751. They are not

  752. of the world,

  753. even as I am

  754. not of it.

  755. Sanctify them

  756. by the truth.

  757. Your word is truth.

  758. As you send me

  759. into the world,

  760. I have sent them

  761. into the world.

  762. For them,

  763. I sanctify myself,

  764. that they too

  765. may be truly sanctified.

  766. And then in the following

  767. verses,

  768. it's Jesus prays

  769. for his future believers.

  770. My prayer is not

  771. for them alone.

  772. I pray also

  773. for those

  774. who will believe

  775. in me

  776. through their message,

  777. that all of them

  778. may be one

  779. father,

  780. just as you are

  781. in me

  782. and I am

  783. in you.

  784. May they also

  785. be in us

  786. so that the world

  787. may believe

  788. that you have sent me.

  789. I have given them

  790. the glory

  791. that you gave me,

  792. that they may be

  793. one as we are one,

  794. I in them

  795. and you in me.

  796. May they be brought

  797. to complete unity

  798. to let the world

  799. know that you sent me

  800. and have loved them

  801. even as you have

  802. loved me.

  803. Father,

  804. I want those

  805. you have given me

  806. to be with me

  807. where I am

  808. and to see my glory,

  809. the glory you have given

  810. me because you loved me

  811. before the creation

  812. of the world.

  813. Righteous Father,

  814. though the world

  815. does not know you,

  816. I know you

  817. and they know

  818. that you have sent me.

  819. I have made you

  820. known to them

  821. and will continue

  822. to make you known

  823. in order

  824. that the love

  825. you have for me

  826. may be in them

  827. and that I myself

  828. may be in them.

  829. what a

  830. an awesome

  831. thing to know

  832. that Jesus prays,

  833. even prayed

  834. for his disciples,

  835. he prayed for himself

  836. as he was

  837. going to the cross.

  838. And then

  839. so

  840. that's the P

  841. for prayer

  842. and then

  843. E,

  844. eternal life

  845. and

  846. eternal life

  847. and good news.

  848. Does God really have

  849. a future for us?

  850. Do you know

  851. the Lord

  852. as your personal

  853. savior?

  854. And

  855. eternity,

  856. as you think

  857. of eternity,

  858. we have a lot

  859. more living

  860. ahead of us

  861. than we do

  862. behind us

  863. and

  864. eternity

  865. can be spent

  866. in either hell

  867. or in heaven

  868. with Christ

  869. and if you're not

  870. sure

  871. where

  872. you stand

  873. today

  874. and if you're

  875. not absolutely

  876. sure

  877. of your future

  878. with God

  879. there's a place

  880. that you need

  881. to begin

  882. and it's

  883. to confess

  884. your sin

  885. and to repent

  886. and

  887. just to go

  888. through

  889. we listened

  890. to a gentleman

  891. J.D.

  892. Farag

  893. who is a

  894. pastor

  895. in Hawaii

  896. and

  897. at the end

  898. of every message

  899. that he has

  900. he shares

  901. the gospel

  902. the good news

  903. and

  904. it's a simple

  905. he has it

  906. very simple

  907. it's A-B-C

  908. and the A

  909. stands for

  910. admit that

  911. you are a sinner

  912. and in

  913. Romans 3.23

  914. it says

  915. for all have

  916. sinned

  917. and fall short

  918. of the glory

  919. of God

  920. and

  921. so

  922. one thing

  923. he says

  924. in there

  925. we first

  926. must admit

  927. that we are

  928. sinners

  929. that we

  930. we sin

  931. and

  932. and

  933. if we

  934. admit

  935. that we

  936. are a

  937. sinner

  938. then

  939. we are

  940. in need

  941. of a

  942. savior

  943. and

  944. Jesus

  945. Christ

  946. is that

  947. savior

  948. and in

  949. Romans

  950. 6.23

  951. it says

  952. for the wages

  953. of sin

  954. is death

  955. that's the

  956. bad news

  957. and

  958. it's a

  959. death

  960. penalty

  961. if we

  962. if we

  963. if we

  964. don't

  965. repent

  966. the death

  967. penalty

  968. will be

  969. what we

  970. have

  971. but

  972. there is

  973. good news

  974. the gift

  975. of God

  976. is eternal

  977. life

  978. in Christ

  979. Jesus

  980. our Lord

  981. and

  982. so

  983. first we

  984. need to

  985. repent

  986. and then

  987. be

  988. as believe

  989. in

  990. the Lord

  991. Romans

  992. 10.9

  993. and 10

  994. says

  995. that if

  996. you

  997. confess

  998. with

  999. your

  1000. mouth

  1001. Jesus

  1002. is

  1003. Lord

  1004. and

  1005. believe

  1006. in

  1007. your

  1008. heart

  1009. that

  1010. God

  1011. raised

  1012. him

  1013. from

  1014. the

  1015. dead

  1016. you

  1017. will

  1018. be

  1019. saved

  1020. and

  1021. I like

  1022. the way

  1023. J.D.

  1024. Farrick

  1025. says it

  1026. here

  1027. it says

  1028. you

  1029. will

  1030. be

  1031. saved

  1032. it

  1033. doesn't

  1034. say

  1035. you

  1036. might

  1037. be

  1038. saved

  1039. it

  1040. says

  1041. you

  1042. will

  1043. be

  1044. saved

  1045. for

  1046. it

  1047. is

  1048. with

  1049. your

  1050. heart

  1051. that

  1052. you

  1053. believe

  1054. and

  1055. are

  1056. justified

  1057. and

  1058. it

  1059. is

  1060. with

  1061. your

  1062. mouth

  1063. that

  1064. you

  1065. confess

  1066. and

  1067. are

  1068. saved

  1069. and

  1070. the

  1071. C

  1072. stands

  1073. for

  1074. call

  1075. on

  1076. the

  1077. name

  1078. of

  1079. the

  1080. Lord

  1081. Romans

  1082. 10

  1083. 13

  1084. says

  1085. for

  1086. everyone

  1087. who

  1088. calls

  1089. on

  1090. the

  1091. name

  1092. of

  1093. the

  1094. Lord

  1095. will

  1096. be

  1097. saved

  1098. so

  1099. and

  1100. I

  1101. just

  1102. like

  1103. the way

  1104. that's

  1105. put

  1106. that

  1107. we

  1108. will

  1109. be

  1110. saved

  1111. and

  1112. God

  1113. came

  1114. Jesus

  1115. came

  1116. to

  1117. earth

  1118. and

  1119. to die

  1120. for

  1121. our

  1122. sin

  1123. and

  1124. he

  1125. lived

  1126. amongst

  1127. us

  1128. and

  1129. he

  1130. died

  1131. on a

  1132. cross

  1133. but

  1134. he

  1135. didn't

  1136. stay

  1137. on that

  1138. cross

  1139. he

  1140. rose

  1141. after

  1142. three

  1143. days

  1144. and

  1145. after

  1146. the

  1147. three

  1148. days

  1149. he

  1150. came

  1151. back

  1152. to

  1153. life

  1154. and

  1155. he

  1156. came

  1157. and

  1158. showed

  1159. himself

  1160. to

  1161. the

  1162. disciples

  1163. and

  1164. a few

  1165. others

  1166. for a

  1167. few

  1168. days

  1169. after

  1170. and

  1171. after

  1172. that

  1173. he

  1174. was

  1175. raised

  1176. to

  1177. the

  1178. right

  1179. hand

  1180. of

  1181. God

  1182. and

  1183. he

  1184. said

  1185. in

  1186. his

  1187. word

  1188. that

  1189. he's

  1190. coming

  1191. back

  1192. again

  1193. good

  1194. news

  1195. is

  1196. that

  1197. Jesus

  1198. is

  1199. coming

  1200. back

  1201. to

  1202. take

  1203. us

  1204. where

  1205. with

  1206. him

  1207. and

  1208. if

  1209. there's

  1210. anybody

  1211. here

  1212. today

  1213. that

  1214. hasn't

  1215. accepted

  1216. the

  1217. Lord

  1218. as

  1219. their

  1220. personal

  1221. savior

  1222. you

  1223. know

  1224. what

  1225. are

  1226. you

  1227. waiting

  1228. for

  1229. you

  1230. don't

  1231. know

  1232. if

  1233. tomorrow

  1234. could

  1235. be

  1236. today

  1237. could

  1238. be

  1239. your

  1240. last

  1241. day

  1242. and

  1243. would

  1244. you

  1245. like

  1246. to

  1247. spend

  1248. the

  1249. rest

  1250. of

  1251. your

  1252. life

  1253. with

  1254. Christ

  1255. or

  1256. would

  1257. you

  1258. like

  1259. or

  1260. if

  1261. you

  1262. don't

  1263. then

  1264. you

  1265. will

  1266. spend

  1267. the rest

  1268. of

  1269. your

  1270. life

  1271. in

  1272. eternity

  1273. without

  1274. Christ

  1275. in

  1276. hell

  1277. and

  1278. in

  1279. closing

  1280. I

  1281. would

  1282. like

  1283. to

  1284. leave

  1285. you

  1286. with

  1287. this

  1288. message

  1289. of

  1290. scripture

  1291. and I

  1293. that

  1294. you

  1295. will

  1296. be

  1297. excited

  1298. to

  1299. share

  1300. the

  1301. hope

  1302. that

  1303. you

  1304. have

  1305. the

  1306. good

  1307. news

  1308. of

  1309. Jesus

  1310. Christ

  1311. and

  1312. our

  1313. Lord

  1314. who

  1315. has

  1316. come

  1317. in

  1318. contact

  1319. with

  1320. you

  1321. and

  1322. it

  1323. is

  1324. Romans

  1325. 10

  1326. 14

  1327. and

  1328. 15

  1329. how

  1330. then

  1331. can

  1332. they

  1333. call

  1334. on

  1335. the

  1336. one

  1337. they

  1338. have

  1339. not

  1340. believed

  1341. in

  1342. and

  1343. how

  1344. can

  1345. they

  1346. believe

  1347. in

  1348. the

  1349. one

  1350. whom

  1351. they

  1352. have

  1353. not

  1354. heard

  1355. and

  1356. how

  1357. can

  1358. they

  1359. hear

  1360. without

  1361. someone

  1362. preaching

  1363. to

  1364. them

  1365. and

  1366. how

  1367. can

  1368. they

  1369. preach

  1370. unless

  1371. they

  1372. are

  1373. sent

  1374. as

  1375. it

  1376. is

  1377. written

  1378. how

  1379. beautiful

  1380. are

  1381. the

  1382. feet

  1383. of

  1384. those

  1385. who

  1386. bring

  1387. good

  1388. news

  1389. and

  1390. I

  1391. hope

  1392. that's

  1393. the

  1394. good

  1395. news

  1396. that

  1397. you're

  1398. willing

  1399. to

  1400. share

  1401. with

  1402. a

  1403. world

  1404. out

  1405. there

  1406. that

  1407. needs

  1408. to

  1409. know

  1410. and

  1411. hear

  1412. about

  1413. our
