  1. Begin thinking about what you'd like to put in it.

  2. As we come to the Word of God this morning,

  3. we're going to actually jump a little bit ahead in the Gospel of Luke

  4. ! From where we were last Sunday.

  5. Last Sunday, we heard about John the Baptizer's moment of doubt.

  6. And Jesus, on that occasion,

  7. actually takes some time to talk to the crowd about John.

  8. Lord willing, we'll come back and look at those words more closely.

  9. Except for one comment, which Luke makes right in the middle of that,

  10. which we will read, which is in verses 29 and 30.

  11. Luke says this, he says,

  12. All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus' words,

  13. acknowledged that God's way was right,

  14. because they had been baptized by John.

  15. But the Pharisees and the experts in the law

  16. rejected God's purpose for themselves.

  17. because they had not been baptized by John.

  18. We've heard about the Pharisees

  19. and the experts in the law already in Luke's Gospel.

  20. They opposed Jesus.

  21. They condemned Jesus.

  22. They condemned Him for attending that banquet at Levi's house.

  23. They condemned Him for allowing the disciples to eat wheat

  24. that was ripe in the fields on the Sabbath day.

  25. They condemned Jesus for healing a man on the Sabbath day.

  26. They accused Jesus of being a glutton and a drunkard.

  27. They said, He's a friend of tax collectors.

  28. He's a friend of sinners.

  29. Well, this morning we're going to see one of Jesus' encounters

  30. with a Pharisee

  31. and, at the same time, a sinner.

  32. We're in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 7, verse 36.

    Luke 7:36

  33. When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with Him,

  34. He went to the Pharisee's house

  35. and reclined at the table.

  36. A woman in that town,

  37. who lived a sinful life,

  38. learned that Jesus was eating

  39. at the Pharisee's house.

  40. So she came there

  41. with an alabaster jar

  42. of perfume.

  43. So a Pharisee invites Jesus

  44. to come over to His house for dinner.

  45. And we remember that the Pharisees

  46. were a highly influential

  47. religious

  48. party

  49. among the Jews.

  50. They were especially

  51. influential among the common people.

  52. They were known for their strict adherence

  53. to the Scriptures,

  54. at least on the surface.

  55. And they saw themselves

  56. as an authority

  57. when it came to

  58. understanding

  59. and interpreting

  60. and applying

  61. the Scriptures,

  62. the law of Moses

  63. found in the Scriptures.

  64. And Luke tells us

  65. that a woman

  66. who had lived a sinful life

  67. in that town

  68. caught word

  69. that Jesus had been invited

  70. to this Pharisee's house.

  71. Not only did she hear,

  72. but she comes knocking

  73. on the door

  74. and shows up

  75. to this guy's house

  76. with a jar

  77. of perfume.

  78. Already we know

  79. this is going to be interesting.

  80. We've got a highly

  81. religious man

  82. and we've got

  83. a well-known

  84. sinner

  85. in the same room.

  86. And Jesus

  87. is right

  88. in the middle of this.

  89. And then comes

  90. the awkward part.

  91. this woman

  92. is weeping.

  93. As the woman

  94. stood behind Jesus

  95. at his feet

  96. weeping,

  97. she began

  98. to wet his feet

  99. with her tears.

  100. Then she wiped them

  101. with her hair,

  102. kissed them,

  103. and poured

  104. perfume

  105. on them.

  106. Now it's difficult

  107. to picture this

  108. without a few

  109. cultural details.

  110. The tables

  111. that they ate at

  112. in their culture

  113. were very low

  114. to the ground.

  115. Rather than sitting

  116. at them

  117. in a chair,

  118. they actually

  119. laid on their sides

  120. around the table

  121. with their head

  122. and their hands

  123. near the food

  124. and then their feet

  125. stretched out

  126. behind them

  127. away from the table.

  128. And this is where

  129. it gets really awkward.

  130. not only

  131. is the woman

  132. crying

  133. and why

  134. is she crying

  135. but it seems

  136. that she's hiding

  137. her face

  138. behind her hair

  139. over top

  140. of Jesus' feet

  141. and her tears

  142. are dripping

  143. down

  144. onto Jesus' feet.

  145. And she begins

  146. to wash

  147. Jesus' feet

  148. with her tears

  149. and her hair.

  150. This is very strange.

  151. Not only that

  152. but she kisses

  153. Jesus' feet.

  154. And you're not weird

  155. if you think

  156. that's gross.

  157. Feet are often

  158. dirty and smelly

  159. especially by

  160. dinner time

  161. and especially

  162. in this hot

  163. part of the world

  164. in a society

  165. where everybody

  166. walks everywhere

  167. in sandals.

  168. This is not

  169. a hygienic thing

  170. that she's doing.

  171. And then

  172. on top of all that

  173. she begins

  174. to pour

  175. expensive perfume

  176. on Jesus' feet.

  177. Can you imagine

  178. the Pharisee

  179. sitting there

  180. and watching this?

  181. What might he be thinking?

  182. Well we don't have

  183. to guess

  184. because Luke

  185. tells us

  186. in verse 39

  187. when the Pharisee

  188. who had invited

  189. Jesus

  190. saw this

  191. he said to himself

  192. if this man

  193. were a prophet

  194. he would know

  195. who is touching him

  196. and what kind

  197. of woman

  198. she is

  199. that she is

  200. a sinner.

  201. So what's

  202. the Pharisee

  203. thinking?

  204. He's not

  205. wondering at all

  206. why she's crying.

  207. he thinks

  208. that Jesus

  209. if he's a righteous

  210. and holy man

  211. should not be

  212. allowing this

  213. unclean

  214. and immoral woman

  215. to be touching him.

  216. This Pharisee

  217. is thinking about

  218. how this woman's

  219. sinfulness

  220. and guilt

  221. might rub off

  222. on Jesus

  223. and in the Pharisee's

  224. mind

  225. he's passing judgment

  226. on Jesus.

  227. everybody's

  228. been talking

  229. about whether

  230. he's someone

  231. special

  232. perhaps a prophet

  233. perhaps even

  234. the Messiah

  235. well if he was

  236. a prophet

  237. he would know

  238. that this woman

  239. is dirty

  240. and unclean

  241. a sinner

  242. he would forbid

  243. her from even

  244. touching him.

  245. You can hear

  246. the pride

  247. you can feel

  248. it

  249. in his thoughts.

  250. Jesus answered

  251. him

  252. Simon

  253. I have

  254. something

  255. to tell you.

  256. Tell me

  257. teacher

  258. he said.

  259. Two people

  260. owed money

  261. to a certain

  262. money lender.

  263. One

  264. owed him

  265. 500

  266. denarii

  267. and the other

  268. 50.

  269. Now

  270. a denarius

  271. was the usual

  272. daily wage

  273. of a day

  274. laborer.

  275. So

  276. one owed

  277. the money

  278. lender

  279. 500

  280. days

  281. wages

  282. that's a lot

  283. and the other

  284. owed him

  285. 50 days

  286. wages.

  287. Neither of them

  288. had the money

  289. to pay him

  290. back

  291. so he forgave

  292. the debts

  293. of both.

  294. Now

  295. which of them

  296. will love him

  297. more?

  298. Simon replied

  299. I suppose

  300. the one

  301. who had

  302. the bigger

  303. debt

  304. forgiven.

  305. You have

  306. judged

  307. correctly

  308. Jesus

  309. said.

  310. keep going

  311. then

  312. Jesus

  313. turned

  314. toward

  315. the woman

  316. and said

  317. to Simon

  318. do you

  319. see this

  320. woman

  321. I came

  322. into your

  323. house

  324. you did

  325. not give

  326. me any

  327. water

  328. for my

  329. feet

  330. but she

  331. wet my

  332. feet

  333. with her

  334. tears

  335. and wiped

  336. them

  337. with her

  338. hair.

  339. Back then

  340. it was

  341. customary

  342. to do

  343. a foot

  344. washing

  345. before

  346. reclining

  347. at the

  348. table

  349. for a

  350. meal.

  351. You did

  352. not give

  353. me a

  354. kiss

  355. but this

  356. woman

  357. from the

  358. time I

  359. entered

  360. has not

  361. stopped

  362. kissing

  363. my feet.

  364. In

  365. Jewish

  366. culture

  367. a kiss

  368. !

  369. A kiss

  370. on the

  371. cheek

  372. or the

  373. forehead

  374. was a

  375. common

  376. way of

  377. greeting

  378. or showing

  379. hospitality

  380. to a

  381. friend.

  382. And I

  383. think

  384. we'll just

  385. say it

  386. it's somewhat

  387. implied here

  388. but clearly

  389. the kissing

  390. of the

  391. woman

  392. of Jesus

  393. feet

  394. was not

  395. sexual

  396. in nature.

  397. Remember

  398. she's

  399. crying

  400. and she's

  401. kissing

  402. Jesus

  403. feet.

  404. This is

  405. the kind

  406. of thing

  407. we might

  408. expect to

  409. see between

  410. a guilty

  411. criminal

  412. and a

  413. king

  414. sitting on

  415. his throne

  416. as the

  417. criminal

  418. begs

  419. for

  420. mercy.

  421. You

  422. did not

  423. give me

  424. a kiss

  425. but this

  426. woman

  427. from the

  428. time I

  429. entered

  430. has not

  431. stopped

  432. kissing

  433. my feet.

  434. You

  435. did not

  436. put oil

  437. on my

  438. head

  439. but she

  440. has poured

  441. perfume

  442. on my

  443. feet.

  444. Again

  445. this is a

  446. cultural

  447. thing.

  448. It wasn't

  449. expected

  450. always that

  451. hosts

  452. anoint

  453. the head

  454. of their

  455. guests

  456. with oil

  457. but it

  458. was

  459. sometimes

  460. done

  461. to

  462. special

  463. guests

  464. to

  465. honor

  466. them.

  467. And as

  468. we've

  469. been

  470. hearing

  471. from Luke's

  472. gospel

  473. Jesus

  474. is

  475. the

  476. Messiah.

  477. He is

  478. the

  479. anointed

  480. one.

  481. God's

  482. chosen

  483. king.

  484. And so

  485. it would

  486. be very

  487. fitting

  488. for Simon

  489. to show

  490. Jesus

  491. this honor.

  492. He's

  493. dining

  494. with a

  495. king.

  496. The

  497. king.

  498. You

  499. did not

  500. put oil

  501. on my

  502. head

  503. but she

  504. has poured

  505. perfume

  506. on my

  507. feet.

  508. And there's

  509. several

  510. contrasts

  511. here.

  512. The first

  513. is between

  514. the oil

  515. and the

  516. perfume.

  517. The oil

  518. which Simon

  519. could have

  520. used to

  521. anoint

  522. Jesus'

  523. head

  524. was

  525. relatively

  526. common

  527. and

  528. inexpensive

  529. in Israel.

  530. Perfume

  531. on the

  532. other hand

  533. was very

  534. expensive.

  535. And so

  536. that's the

  537. first contrast

  538. between the

  539. oil and

  540. the perfume.

  541. Jesus is

  542. maybe saying

  543. you didn't

  544. even honor

  545. me with a

  546. few drops

  547. of olive

  548. oil.

  549. She has

  550. honored me

  551. with costly

  552. perfume.

  553. And then

  554. there's the

  555. contrast of

  556. body parts

  557. that we

  558. notice here.

  559. Simon,

  560. you wouldn't

  561. grace my

  562. head with

  563. oil but

  564. she has

  565. poured perfume

  566. on my

  567. feet.

  568. Now

  569. ordinarily

  570. nobody would

  571. put an

  572. expensive

  573. perfume

  574. on their

  575. feet.

  576. You would

  577. use a

  578. cheap bar

  579. of soap

  580. on your

  581. feet.

  582. It's

  583. almost like

  584. the woman

  585. is saying

  586. that even

  587. the

  588. lowest

  589. and

  590. dirtiest

  591. part of

  592. you,

  593. Jesus,

  594. is worthy

  595. of the

  596. best that

  597. I have

  598. to give.

  599. Even

  600. your feet

  601. are worthy

  602. of anointing

  603. with this

  604. costly perfume

  605. I've

  606. brought.

  607. The contrast

  608. is so stark,

  609. isn't it?

  610. Here's Simon,

  611. this Pharisee,

  612. sitting there

  613. in his

  614. self-righteous

  615. pride,

  616. disgusted

  617. that Jesus

  618. would allow

  619. himself to

  620. be touched

  621. by this

  622. woman.

  623. And here's

  624. this woman

  625. bawling her

  626. eyes out

  627. and humbling

  628. herself to

  629. the lowest

  630. of lows

  631. before Jesus,

  632. paying him

  633. the highest

  634. of honors,

  635. showing him

  636. the love

  637. that you

  638. would show

  639. to a

  640. king.

  641. How could

  642. it be

  643. that there's

  644. such a

  645. difference in

  646. the way

  647. these two

  648. treat Jesus?

  649. The answer,

  650. I think,

  651. is found in

  652. that little

  653. parable that

  654. Jesus tells,

  655. which we read

  656. in verse 41.

  657. I'll just read

  658. it again

  659. quickly.

  660. Two people

  661. owed money

  662. to a certain

  663. moneylender.

  664. One owed him

  665. 500 denarii

  666. and the other

  667. 50.

  668. Neither of

  669. them had the

  670. money to pay

  671. him back,

  672. so he forgave

  673. the debts

  674. of both.

  675. Now,

  676. which of

  677. them will

  678. love him

  679. more?

  680. Jesus actually

  681. explains how

  682. the parable

  683. relates down

  684. in verse 47.

  685. He says,

  686. I tell you,

  687. her many

  688. sins have

  689. been forgiven

  690. as her

  691. great love

  692. has shown.

  693. But whoever

  694. has been

  695. forgiven little

  696. loves little.

  697. Then Jesus

  698. said to her,

  699. her sins

  700. are forgiven.

  701. The other

  702. guests began

  703. to say among

  704. themselves,

  705. who is this

  706. who even

  707. forgives

  708. sins?

  709. Jesus said

  710. to the woman,

  711. your faith

  712. has saved

  713. you.

  714. Go

  715. in peace.

  716. God

  717. will

  718. will

  719. be

  720. first of all,

  721. notice

  722. that Jesus

  723. doesn't deny

  724. she's a

  725. sinner.

  726. In fact,

  727. he agrees

  728. with Simon

  729. about her

  730. past.

  731. He says,

  732. I tell you

  733. that her

  734. many sins

  735. have been

  736. forgiven.

  737. She was a

  738. person who

  739. had sinned

  740. much.

  741. And Jesus

  742. didn't deny

  743. that.

  744. He didn't

  745. minimize it.

  746. She really

  747. was a person

  748. with a

  749. past full of

  750. doing things

  751. that in

  752. God's sight

  753. were wrong.

  754. But here's

  755. the massive

  756. difference

  757. between

  758. Simon the

  759. Pharisee

  760. and Jesus.

  761. When Simon

  762. looks at

  763. this woman,

  764. he sees a

  765. despicable

  766. sinner and

  767. nothing more.

  768. When Jesus

  769. looks at

  770. her,

  771. he sees a

  772. woman of

  773. faith who

  774. is right

  775. now repenting

  776. of her

  777. sins.

  778. He sees

  779. that she is

  780. truly sorry.

  781. for the

  782. wrong things

  783. that she

  784. has done.

  785. Jesus

  786. sees a

  787. person who

  788. is right

  789. now acknowledging

  790. her unworthiness

  791. to be in

  792. his presence.

  793. Jesus

  794. sees a

  795. woman who

  796. believes his

  797. good news

  798. that God

  799. will

  800. forgive

  801. those who

  802. come to

  803. the man

  804. God has

  805. sent.

  806. God

  807. and it's

  808. like these

  809. tears of

  810. guilt

  811. and shame,

  812. tears of a

  813. broken heart

  814. over all the

  815. wrongs that

  816. she has

  817. done become

  818. the gift

  819. that she

  820. brings as

  821. she washes

  822. Jesus' feet

  823. with them

  824. and anoints

  825. his feet

  826. with her

  827. best perfume.

  828. in this

  829. moment as

  830. she sees

  831. that Jesus

  832. does not

  833. reject her

  834. or push

  835. her away

  836. or tell

  837. her to

  838. leave as

  839. Simon would

  840. have done,

  841. she knows

  842. that Jesus'

  843. message is

  844. true.

  845. That God's

  846. forgiveness

  847. really has

  848. come to

  849. her in

  850. this moment

  851. and she

  852. pours out

  853. her pure

  854. and thankful

  855. love for

  856. Jesus with

  857. this beautiful

  858. act of

  859. service and

  860. honor.

  861. She knows

  862. that she

  863. is forgiven

  864. by Jesus

  865. and so

  866. she loves

  867. Jesus much

  868. by doing

  869. what she's

  870. doing.

  871. That's what

  872. Jesus is

  873. saying by the

  874. parable is

  875. going on

  876. with her.

  877. But what

  878. does Jesus

  879. point to

  880. Simon?

  881. Well a few

  882. things.

  883. First,

  884. how much

  885. or how

  886. little we

  887. have

  888. sinned

  889. matters

  890. nothing to

  891. whether we

  892. can be

  893. forgiven.

  894. No matter

  895. how many

  896. sins that

  897. we've

  898. committed,

  899. we are

  900. not beyond

  901. God's

  902. mercy and

  903. his ability

  904. to forgive.

  905. This woman

  906. is the proof

  907. of that.

  908. Her sins

  909. are many

  910. and yet

  911. Jesus

  912. says to

  913. her,

  914. looks her

  915. in the eye

  916. and says

  917. to her,

  918. your sins

  919. are forgiven.

  920. second,

  921. the more

  922. we realize

  923. and understand

  924. how much

  925. we have

  926. sinned

  927. against

  928. God,

  929. the deeper

  930. our love

  931. for him

  932. will be

  933. if we

  934. receive his

  935. forgiveness.

  936. I don't

  937. think Jesus

  938. means to

  939. say that

  940. Simon hasn't

  941. sinned that

  942. much and

  943. that he's

  944. a pretty

  945. good guy.

  946. rather,

  947. until we

  948. understand

  949. just how

  950. much we

  951. have sinned

  952. and are

  953. in need

  954. of God's

  955. forgiveness,

  956. we just

  957. will not

  958. love or

  959. appreciate

  960. Jesus as

  961. we ought

  962. to.

  963. Let me

  964. ask you

  965. this question.

  966. Do you

  967. love Jesus?

  968. Do you

  969. treasure

  970. Jesus?

  971. If not,

  972. could it

  973. be that

  974. you are

  975. like

  976. Simon,

  977. thinking

  978. you're

  979. pretty

  980. good,

  981. only in

  982. need of

  983. a little

  984. bit of

  985. forgiveness?

  986. We will

  987. not treasure

  988. Jesus and

  989. the forgiving

  990. love that

  991. he has

  992. until we

  993. humbly

  994. acknowledge how

  995. great is

  996. the debt

  997. that we

  998. owe.

  999. And then

  1000. third,

  1001. how do we

  1002. receive this

  1003. forgiveness

  1004. from Jesus?

  1005. Notice

  1006. Jesus parting

  1007. words with

  1008. the woman.

  1009. He says,

  1010. your faith

  1011. has saved

  1012. you.

  1013. Go in

  1014. peace.

  1015. The answer

  1016. is simple.

  1017. Come to

  1018. Jesus Christ

  1019. in faith.

  1020. Believe

  1021. that he

  1022. can and

  1023. does

  1024. forgive.

  1025. when we

  1026. come to

  1027. him in

  1028. earnest

  1029. repentance

  1030. like this

  1031. woman did.

  1032. This is

  1033. the good

  1034. news of

  1035. Jesus.

  1036. We can

  1037. have

  1038. peace

  1039. despite

  1040. our

  1041. many

  1042. sins

  1043. in the

  1044. past.

  1045. Have

  1046. you done

  1047. that?

  1048. Have

  1049. you put

  1050. your faith

  1051. in Jesus?

  1052. have

  1053. you

  1054. experienced

  1055. like this

  1056. woman did

  1057. his

  1058. forgiveness?

  1059. In

  1060. just a

  1061. moment

  1062. we're

  1063. going to

  1064. partake

  1065. together

  1066. of the

  1067. Lord's

  1068. table.

  1069. And we

  1070. do this

  1071. every

  1072. month

  1073. to

  1074. remember

  1075. Jesus

  1076. our

  1077. Savior.

  1078. This

  1079. woman

  1080. knew

  1081. that she

  1082. was

  1083. utterly

  1084. unworthy

  1085. and a

  1086. sinner.

  1087. in

  1088. faith

  1089. she

  1090. saw

  1091. that

  1092. Jesus

  1093. was

  1094. truly

  1095. worthy

  1096. of the

  1097. best

  1098. and

  1099. highest

  1100. honor

  1101. she

  1102. could

  1103. give.

  1104. She

  1105. wept

  1106. over

  1107. her

  1108. sins

  1109. and

  1110. washed

  1111. Jesus'

  1112. feet

  1113. with

  1114. her

  1115. tears

  1116. and

  1117. poured

  1118. out

  1119. that

  1120. perfume

  1121. on

  1122. his

  1123. feet

  1124. and

  1125. kissed

  1126. them.

  1127. She

  1128. knew

  1129. just

  1130. how

  1131. much

  1132. she

  1133. had

  1134. been

  1135. forgiven.

  1136. She

  1137. was

  1138. so

  1139. deeply

  1140. stirred

  1141. with

  1142. love

  1143. for

  1144. the

  1145. one

  1146. who

  1147. had

  1148. forgiven

  1149. her.

  1150. This

  1151. woman

  1152. really

  1153. stands

  1154. out,

  1155. doesn't

  1156. she?

  1157. maybe

  1158. almost

  1159. a little

  1160. bit

  1161. like

  1162. the

  1163. centurion

  1164. that we

  1165. heard about

  1166. a couple

  1167. weeks ago.

  1168. One of

  1169. the few

  1170. who through

  1171. eyes of

  1172. faith saw

  1173. Jesus as

  1174. he really

  1175. is

  1176. and

  1177. herself

  1178. as

  1179. she really

  1180. was before

  1181. him.

  1182. He

  1183. a wonderful

  1184. and

  1185. merciful

  1186. king

  1187. and

  1188. she

  1189. a sinner

  1190. in need

  1191. of mercy.

  1192. As

  1193. the story

  1194. goes on

  1195. we'll see

  1196. even more

  1197. of how

  1198. wonderful

  1199. and worthy

  1200. and merciful

  1201. Jesus is.

  1202. He is

  1203. truly

  1204. the

  1205. anointed

  1206. one

  1207. of

  1208. God

  1209. and yet

  1210. he will

  1211. willingly

  1212. choose

  1213. to

  1214. suffer

  1215. and

  1216. die

  1217. on a

  1218. cross

  1219. to

  1220. atone

  1221. for

  1222. our

  1223. many

  1224. sins.

  1225. Let's

  1226. just

  1227. fast

  1228. forward

  1229. to that

  1230. moment

  1231. a little

  1232. bit

  1233. and hear

  1234. it again.

  1235. On the

  1236. night

  1237. before

  1238. Jesus

  1239. died

  1240. he

  1241. reclined

  1242. with

  1243. his

  1244. disciples

  1245. around

  1246. the

  1247. table

  1248. to

  1249. mark

  1250. the

  1251. Passover

  1252. and

  1253. he

  1254. took

  1255. bread

  1256. and

  1257. he

  1258. broke

  1259. it

  1260. and

  1261. he

  1262. gave

  1263. it

  1264. out

  1265. around

  1266. the

  1267. table

  1268. he

  1269. said

  1270. in that

  1271. moment

  1272. this

  1273. is

  1274. my

  1275. body

  1276. given

  1277. for

  1278. you

  1279. do

  1280. this

  1281. in

  1282. remembrance

  1283. of

  1284. me

  1285. and

  1286. he

  1287. took

  1288. a

  1289. cup

  1290. and

  1291. he

  1292. passed

  1293. it

  1294. around

  1295. saying

  1296. to

  1297. them

  1298. drink

  1299. from

  1300. it

  1301. all

  1302. of

  1303. you

  1304. this

  1305. is

  1306. my

  1307. blood

  1308. of

  1309. the

  1310. covenant

  1311. which

  1312. is

  1313. poured

  1314. out

  1315. for

  1316. many

  1317. for

  1318. the

  1319. forgiveness

  1320. of

  1321. sins

  1322. this

  1323. was

  1324. a

  1325. symbolic

  1326. thing

  1327. that

  1328. Jesus

  1329. did

  1330. and

  1331. it

  1332. was

  1333. all

  1334. intended

  1335. to

  1336. explain

  1337. what

  1338. would

  1339. happen

  1340. the

  1341. next

  1342. day

  1343. he

  1344. would

  1345. be

  1346. crucified

  1347. on a

  1348. Roman

  1349. cross

  1350. though

  1351. innocent

  1352. his

  1353. body

  1354. would

  1355. be

  1356. broken

  1357. and

  1358. his

  1359. blood

  1360. poured

  1361. out

  1362. he

  1363. would

  1364. die

  1365. and

  1366. yet

  1367. through

  1368. his

  1369. death

  1370. would

  1371. come

  1372. the

  1373. forgiveness

  1374. of

  1375. sins

  1376. for

  1377. many

  1378. a

  1379. new

  1380. restored

  1381. relationship

  1382. with

  1383. God

  1384. what

  1385. Jesus

  1386. said

  1387. to

  1388. the

  1389. woman

  1390. your

  1391. sins

  1392. are

  1393. forgiven

  1394. would

  1395. depend

  1396. on

  1397. this

  1398. act

  1399. love

  1400. his

  1401. death

  1402. for

  1403. us

  1404. on

  1405. the

  1406. cross

  1407. what

  1408. a

  1409. deal

  1410. the

  1411. worthy

  1412. and

  1413. sinless

  1414. king

  1415. seeing

  1416. that

  1417. we

  1418. do

  1419. not

  1420. have

  1421. the

  1422. means

  1423. to

  1424. pay

  1425. the

  1426. debt

  1427. we

  1428. owe

  1429. would

  1430. pay

  1431. the

  1432. debt

  1433. we

  1434. owe

  1435. !

  1436. himself

  1437. he

  1438. would

  1439. take

  1440. the

  1441. punishment

  1442. we

  1443. deserve

  1444. for

  1445. our

  1446. many

  1447. sins

  1448. on

  1449. himself

  1450. so

  1451. that

  1452. we

  1453. could

  1454. be

  1455. forgiven

  1456. and

  1457. live

  1458. in

  1459. peace

  1460. let's

  1461. take

  1462. a few

  1463. minutes

  1464. now

  1465. to

  1466. reflect

  1467. on

  1468. this

  1469. and

  1470. to

  1471. pray

  1472. silently

  1473. once

  1474. we've

  1475. done

  1476. this

  1477. for

  1478. a few

  1479. minutes

  1480. the

  1481. elders

  1482. will

  1483. come

  1484. and

  1485. pass

  1486. out

  1487. the

  1488. elements

  1489. if

  1490. you

  1491. believe

  1492. in

  1493. Jesus

  1494. as

  1495. your

  1496. savior

  1497. and

  1498. as

  1499. your

  1500. king

  1501. please

  1502. join

  1503. with

  1504. us

  1505. eat

  1506. and

  1507. drink

  1508. with

  1509. us

  1510. and

  1511. celebrate

  1512. and

  1513. remember

  1514. Jesus

  1515. with

  1516. us

  1517. and

  1518. if

  1519. not

  1520. please

  1521. just

  1522. let

  1523. the

  1524. elements

  1525. pass

  1526. you

  1527. by

  1528. we're

  1529. going

  1530. to

  1531. wait

  1532. until

  1533. everybody

  1534. has

  1535. been

  1536. served

  1537. and

  1538. then

  1539. we'll

  1540. partake

  1541. together

  1542. in

  1543. unison

  1544. but

  1545. let's

  1546. take

  1547. a few

  1548. minutes

  1549. now

  1550. to

  1551. reflect

  1552. and

  1553. to

  1554. pray

  1555. !

  1556. how

  1557. many

  1558. are

  1559. your
