  1. Jesus being summoned to heal a sick person by someone important.

  2. But then if we look back to chapter 7, we see that these are two different stories with just a few similarities.

  3. Back in chapter 7, we heard about how Jesus healed a centurion's servant from a distance as he was on the way to the centurion's house.

  4. You may remember the striking moment of that story where the centurion sends messengers to Jesus saying,

  5. Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof, but say the word and my servant will be healed.

  6. But this account here in Luke chapter 8 is different.

    Luke 8 chapter mention

  7. Jesus has just arrived back from the other side of the Sea of Galilee, and a man named Jairus is waiting there for him.

  8. Now, who is Jairus?

  9. Luke tells us that he was a synagogue ruler or leader.

  10. So the centurion from chapter 7 was a soldier and likely a Gentile, a non-Jew.

  11. But Jairus is one of the religious leaders of the local synagogue and almost certainly a Jew.

  12. Back in Luke 7, it was the centurion's servant who was sick and about to die.

  13. But here in Luke chapter 8, we discover that it's Jairus' own daughter who was sick.

    Luke 8 chapter mention

  14. Luke tells us that she was a girl about 12 years old.

  15. Jairus' only daughter.

  16. And how serious is this?

  17. Well, Luke just says she was dying.

  18. No cause for death is mentioned, whether sickness or injury, just that death seems imminent.

  19. She was dying.

  20. With the centurion in chapter 7, we remember how he sent messengers to Jesus to come and heal his servants.

  21. But here we see that Jairus, the girl's father, has come himself to Jesus.

  22. Can you imagine the desperation of Jairus and his wife in these moments?

  23. Jairus' precious daughter lay dying in the bed.

  24. Probably doctors had already been sought out.

  25. And probably the prognosis had already been given.

  26. And so what was left?

  27. Can you imagine Jairus leaving the house where his own daughter is dying in search of Jesus?

  28. The one that he has heard can heal.

  29. Can you imagine Jairus waiting anxiously for Jesus and his disciples to get to the shore and get out of the boat?

  30. Look at how Jairus approached Jesus.

  31. It says he came and fell at Jesus' feet.

  32. Pleading with him to come to his house.

  33. And Jesus agrees to go.

  34. But unlike with the previous miracle with the centurion,

  35. getting to Jairus' house proves to be a challenge.

  36. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him.

  37. That word crushed is very strong.

  38. It's a word that was used to describe the act of applying pressure around the neck in order to kill someone.

  39. And of course it's used figuratively here to describe just how tightly the crowd pressed and squeezed in around Jesus.

  40. Can you imagine Jesus trying to get through these narrow streets

  41. with all these people tightly packed in there,

  42. clamoring around him?

  43. Maybe you remember a time when you were at a large gathering,

  44. whether a sporting event or a conference or a concert.

  45. And there's people everywhere.

  46. And what do we do in those situations?

  47. Well, if you're like me, you try to just kind of slither through the crowd

  48. and take those measured steps so as to not collide with anybody.

  49. But the problem here for Jesus is that he is the one that everybody is trying to get to.

  50. And so there's no slithering through the crowd for Jesus.

  51. They're all there to get to him.

  52. To see him.

  53. Coming straight for him.

  54. And I wonder what was going on in Jairus' mind in this moment.

  55. Is Jesus going to make it in time?

  56. All of a sudden, this slow procession grinds to a complete stop

  57. as Jesus calls out,

  58. Who touched me?

  59. An ironic question, isn't it?

  60. And Peter states the obvious.

  61. Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.

  62. Lots of people have touched you in the last few minutes.

  63. We can hardly move without brushing up against someone on every side.

  64. But Jesus persists.

  65. Someone touched me.

  66. I know that power has gone out from me.

  67. Unbeknownst to everyone around Jesus,

  68. Luke tells us that there was this woman in the crowd

  69. who had snuck in close and touched the edge of Jesus' cloak.

  70. Nobody else noticed it.

  71. But all of a sudden, Jesus became aware

  72. that power had gone out from him.

  73. Who was this woman?

  74. Well, Luke tells us in verse 43

  75. that she had been subject to bleeding for 12 years.

  76. But no one could heal her.

  77. So in the midst of this very public moment of desperation for Jairus

  78. and Jairus' daughter and his family,

  79. there is this whole other story of desperation

  80. going on with this woman.

  81. And as I first read through this earlier in the week,

  82. I was struck again by how long this woman had suffered with this bleeding.

  83. 12 years.

  84. 12 years.

  85. Commentators and scholars suggest

  86. that this was most likely some form of uterine hemorrhaging.

  87. Likely a menstrual disorder.

  88. And the cause of this, it's not stated here.

  89. What is stated is that the doctors were baffled by this.

  90. No one could heal her, says Luke.

  91. In Mark's gospel are a few extra details.

  92. Mark 5, 26.

  93. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors

  94. and had spent all she had.

  95. Yet instead of getting better,

  96. she grew worse.

  97. And so this was rare.

  98. This was abnormal.

  99. Something was really off in this woman's body.

  100. Whether caused by issues with particular organs or hormones,

  101. they didn't know what to do with her.

  102. They'd never seen this.

  103. Probably she'd already tried all kinds of treatments,

  104. but nothing was working.

  105. Obviously this couldn't have been a constant heavy flow of blood

  106. for 12 years or she would have died.

  107. But probably a persistent, weakly, moderate flow.

  108. Perhaps somewhat unpredictable.

  109. Probably she was somewhat anemic and weak because of it.

  110. And then on top of all that,

  111. there was the social and emotional side of things for this woman.

  112. There would have been great embarrassment.

  113. This would have been a great struggle

  114. with wondering why she was suffering with this thing

  115. that nobody had ever seen or heard of before.

  116. I'm not going to go into all the details of this,

  117. but this condition also, we know,

  118. made her ceremonially unclean

  119. according to the law of Moses.

  120. That would have had big implications on her life as well.

  121. She would have been unable to participate

  122. in the annual festivals in Jerusalem at the temple.

  123. And then there was probably on top of all of that,

  124. the burdensome rules and extras of the Pharisees,

  125. which might have mean that she was even socially ostracized

  126. as well for her ceremonial uncleanness.

  127. And this just seemed to go on for years,

  128. year after year after year, 12 years.

  129. We can only imagine, most of us,

  130. what life has been like for her

  131. these 12 long years.

  132. And I think we kind of have to know

  133. that there's got to be a backstory here

  134. that we don't get all the details of.

  135. At some point, she first heard about Jesus

  136. and the things that he was doing,

  137. how he'd been healing people.

  138. No doubt, she began to hear the things

  139. Jesus was teaching and saying,

  140. and hope began to rise in her heart.

  141. Unlike the countless doctors who had seen her,

  142. a hope that Jesus was different,

  143. that he could be the one to deliver her

  144. from this suffering.

  145. And somewhere along the line,

  146. hope turns into confidence and faith.

  147. Her thought, according to Mark's gospel,

  148. was,

  149. if I just touch his clothes,

  150. I will be healed.

  151. Those are words of faith.

  152. She believes that Jesus has

  153. the power of God to heal.

  154. She believes it so strongly

  155. that she doesn't even need

  156. to have a one-on-one conversation with Jesus.

  157. She doesn't need Jesus to lay hands on her

  158. or even to see her or notice her.

  159. If I just touch his clothes,

  160. I will be healed.

  161. Think about this.

  162. There's nothing special about the clothes

  163. or the cloak.

  164. What makes this cloak different

  165. is the one who wears it.

  166. That's what she's thinking about.

  167. She was right.

  168. She reaches out.

  169. She touches Jesus.

  170. And she's healed.

  171. And Jesus calls in that moment

  172. for the one who touched him

  173. to show themselves.

  174. Verse 47, back in Luke.

  175. Then the woman,

  176. seeing that she could not go unnoticed,

  177. came trembling and fell at Jesus' feet.

  178. In the presence of all the people,

  179. she told why she had touched him

  180. and how she had been instantly healed.

  181. Mark adds the detail

  182. that upon touching Jesus' cloak,

  183. immediately her bleeding stopped

  184. and she felt in her body

  185. that she was freed from her suffering.

  186. Those words might even be a clue

  187. that there could have been some pain

  188. or cramping that went with her condition.

  189. Now instantly gone.

  190. No symptoms whatsoever.

  191. She knew she was healed.

  192. This is quite the moment here

  193. as she speaks to Jesus

  194. from the ground at his feet.

  195. You can almost picture her

  196. just trembling with fear

  197. and yet rejoicing

  198. as she tells what has just happened to her.

  199. Twelve years of suffering

  200. just ended in a moment.

  201. Jesus says to her,

  202. daughter, your faith has healed you.

  203. Go in peace.

  204. As I was reflecting on these words,

  205. I think there's deep encouragement here

  206. for any who have suffered

  207. or struggled with something

  208. for a long time.

  209. Maybe it's a health issue

  210. that you've been struggling with for years

  211. or a disability.

  212. Or maybe it's not even a health issue

  213. but some other persistent difficulty

  214. or trial that you've been stuck with for years.

  215. God notices those things.

  216. He sees.

  217. He knows.

  218. And this story is not a guarantee

  219. that if you just have enough faith

  220. and pray a certain way,

  221. it's going to be gone in an instant.

  222. But it's a sampling.

  223. It's a foretaste of what Jesus will do

  224. for all who have faith in Him

  225. one day when He returns.

  226. He will deliver us from every affliction.

  227. And how wonderful,

  228. how sweet it will be

  229. for those who have suffered long.

  230. Now as all of this is unfolding,

  231. Jesus and the crowd come to a stop.

  232. The stories being told by this woman,

  233. I can't help but wonder

  234. what was going on in Jairus' heart and mind.

  235. Knowing that His daughter is close to death

  236. and that time is of the essence.

  237. How long will this interruption take?

  238. What if there's more moments like this along the way?

  239. Will Jesus get there in time?

  240. Verse 49,

  241. While Jesus was still speaking,

  242. someone came from the house of Jairus,

  243. the synagogue leader.

  244. Your daughter is dead,

  245. he said.

  246. Don't bother the teacher anymore.

  247. What a tough moment that must have been

  248. for Jairus to hear those words.

  249. Your daughter is dead.

  250. I imagine a shot of grief and pain

  251. just struck right through his heart.

  252. And the words that come after or with it

  253. are just as difficult.

  254. Don't bother the teacher anymore.

  255. We don't even know who said this.

  256. Just someone from Jairus' house

  257. who had just arrived.

  258. But you can almost hear in those words,

  259. these other words.

  260. It's too late, Jairus.

  261. There's nothing more that can be done.

  262. Maybe he could have healed her

  263. if he had got there in time.

  264. But now that she's dead,

  265. there's nothing he can do.

  266. Come back to the house with us.

  267. Let the teacher be on his way.

  268. Hearing this,

  269. Jesus said to Jairus,

  270. don't be afraid.

  271. Just believe.

  272. and she will be healed.

  273. Don't be afraid.

  274. Just believe.

  275. And she will be healed.

  276. This is the great moment of testing for Jairus.

  277. Jesus is flat out telling him

  278. that though she's dead,

  279. she will be healed.

  280. In other words,

  281. I'm going to raise her

  282. back to life from the dead, Jairus.

  283. Just believe.

  284. And she will be healed.

  285. Imagine yourself in Jairus' shoes.

  286. And Jesus looks you in the eye

  287. and says to you,

  288. trust in me

  289. and I will raise your daughter

  290. back to life from the dead.

  291. Now, of course,

  292. you'd wish for that

  293. and you would hope for that.

  294. But would you believe

  295. that he could do it?

  296. Would you be confident

  297. that because Jesus says it,

  298. it's going to happen?

  299. Verse 51,

  300. when Jesus arrived

  301. at the house of Jairus,

  302. he did not let anyone

  303. go in with him

  304. except Peter,

  305. John,

  306. and James

  307. and the child's father

  308. and mother.

  309. So,

  310. three of the disciples

  311. get to go in with

  312. Jairus and his wife

  313. and the rest

  314. stay out with the crowd.

  315. Peter,

  316. James,

  317. and John

  318. were part of that

  319. inner circle of three

  320. that Jesus had

  321. who he invited

  322. to some special things

  323. that they got to see

  324. and this was one of them.

  325. Meanwhile,

  326. all the people

  327. were wailing

  328. and mourning for her.

  329. stop wailing,

  330. Jesus said.

  331. She's not dead

  332. but asleep.

  333. So,

  334. these are the people

  335. already in the house

  336. who have been there

  337. leading up to the death

  338. and probably some

  339. who have arrived

  340. after the death

  341. and they're wailing

  342. and they're mourning

  343. for her.

  344. In our culture,

  345. we tend to grieve quietly.

  346. It's maybe expected

  347. that the immediate family

  348. will cry

  349. or lose control

  350. of their emotions

  351. the language we use

  352. but the rest of us

  353. would just sort of

  354. sit there

  355. and keep inside

  356. what we're feeling.

  357. But in other cultures

  358. including the Jewish culture,

  359. grieving was a very raw

  360. emotional

  361. and public

  362. outpouring

  363. and it was quite common

  364. for people

  365. to wail loudly

  366. and to weep loudly.

  367. Just let it all out.

  368. Especially in tragic

  369. circumstances like this

  370. where a 12-year-old girl

  371. has just died.

  372. And in the midst

  373. of all of this,

  374. Jesus says to them,

  375. stop wailing.

  376. She's not dead

  377. but asleep.

  378. This would have been

  379. a total shock to them

  380. especially after

  381. some of them

  382. had been there

  383. long before Jesus

  384. had arrived.

  385. It was fact.

  386. They were witnesses.

  387. Probably

  388. all of them

  389. that were in the house

  390. at this point

  391. had spent considerable time

  392. just looking at

  393. the lifeless body

  394. of this girl.

  395. And who does this guy

  396. think he is

  397. coming in here

  398. just now

  399. and telling us

  400. stop crying

  401. because she's not dead

  402. but asleep.

  403. And we might wonder

  404. about that choice

  405. of words

  406. on Jesus'

  407. part.

  408. Of course,

  409. Jesus knew

  410. that she was

  411. actually

  412. dead

  413. but he was

  414. making a point.

  415. Just like with

  416. the person

  417. who is asleep

  418. she will awaken.

  419. She's going to get up.

  420. Death is

  421. permanent.

  422. It's final.

  423. But what's

  424. happening to her

  425. now is more

  426. like sleep.

  427. It's only

  428. temporary.

  429. She's going to

  430. come out of this

  431. is what Jesus

  432. is saying

  433. with these words.

  434. But of course

  435. they took this

  436. literally

  437. and they laughed

  438. at him.

  439. But Jesus

  440. took her by the

  441. hand and said

  442. my child

  443. get up.

  444. Her spirit

  445. returned

  446. and at once

  447. she stood up.

  448. her parents

  449. were astonished

  450. but he ordered

  451. them not to

  452. tell anyone

  453. what had

  454. happened.

  455. Absolutely

  456. amazing.

  457. A day

  458. never to be

  459. forgotten.

  460. Not by

  461. Jairus

  462. or his wife

  463. by Peter

  464. James

  465. John

  466. by all

  467. in the

  468. house

  469. with them.

  470. Jesus

  471. raises

  472. this 12

  473. year old

  474. girl

  475. back to

  476. life

  477. from the

  478. dead

  479. right in

  480. front of

  481. them.

  482. this is the

  483. proof that

  484. Jesus really

  485. is the

  486. son of

  487. God.

  488. That he

  489. is the

  490. Messiah.

  491. That he

  492. is the

  493. way and

  494. the truth

  495. and the

  496. life.

  497. It's the

  498. proof that

  499. he is

  500. himself

  501. God

  502. and has

  503. the power

  504. of God.

  505. First

  506. that woman

  507. with the

  508. bleeding

  509. who no

  510. doctor could

  511. help

  512. and then

  513. not long

  514. after this

  515. girl who

  516. had passed

  517. away.

  518. This is

  519. why we

  520. need to

  521. take Jesus

  522. seriously.

  523. This is

  524. why we

  525. need to

  526. like Jairus

  527. and the

  528. woman have

  529. real deep

  530. faith in

  531. Jesus.

  532. He possesses

  533. the power

  534. of God.

  535. He commands

  536. dead bodies

  537. and the

  538. spirits of

  539. the people

  540. who were

  541. in there

  542. returned to

  543. them.

  544. who can

  545. do this

  546. but God?

  547. Who can

  548. do that?

  549. Who can

  550. resurrect

  551. but God?

  552. The maker

  553. of life.

  554. The creator

  555. of life.

  556. This is it.

  557. This is God

  558. himself giving

  559. us a clear

  560. sign to

  561. follow so

  562. that we

  563. might come

  564. to his

  565. son Jesus

  566. and believe

  567. in him

  568. and be

  569. saved and

  570. find the

  571. eternal life

  572. that Jesus

  573. promised.

  574. Christ.

  575. And so

  576. that's

  577. really the

  578. question that

  579. I want to

  580. press deepest

  581. today.

  582. Have you

  583. put your

  584. faith in

  585. Jesus?

  586. Have you

  587. believed

  588. that he is

  589. the son of

  590. God?

  591. That he's

  592. God's king

  593. for you?

  594. One of the

  595. things I love

  596. about this

  597. miracle is how

  598. impossible this

  599. would be to

  600. fake.

  601. sometimes I

  602. get thinking

  603. about these

  604. things.

  605. You know

  606. there maybe

  607. was really

  608. only one

  609. way to

  610. fake this

  611. thing.

  612. Apart from

  613. God's power

  614. it is truly

  615. impossible to

  616. raise someone

  617. from the

  618. dead.

  619. So the

  620. only way to

  621. fake this

  622. would be to

  623. have someone

  624. pretend to

  625. die and

  626. pretend to

  627. come back to

  628. life.

  629. And when

  630. would Jesus

  631. have made

  632. that arrangement?

  633. Before or

  634. after he

  635. went across

  636. to the

  637. other side

  638. of the

  639. Sea of

  640. Galilee?

  641. And how

  642. convincing

  643. would a

  644. 12 year

  645. old girl

  646. be at

  647. faking her

  648. own death

  649. and lying

  650. there still

  651. and getting

  652. pale and

  653. all those

  654. signs that

  655. people saw?

  656. And was

  657. Jairus'

  658. wife in on

  659. it too?

  660. It says

  661. they all

  662. laughed at

  663. Jesus because

  664. they knew

  665. she was

  666. dead.

  667. It was so

  668. obvious.

  669. It wasn't

  670. a trick.

  671. There were

  672. witnesses that

  673. she was alive

  674. when Jairus

  675. left.

  676. And there

  677. were witnesses

  678. that she was

  679. truly dead

  680. before Jairus

  681. returned with

  682. Jesus.

  683. And there

  684. were witnesses

  685. that she

  686. got up.

  687. They couldn't

  688. deny it.

  689. She was

  690. alive again

  691. walking around.

  692. And then

  693. there's this

  694. really surprising

  695. detail.

  696. You know

  697. if this was

  698. somehow some

  699. elaborate magic

  700. trick that

  701. would of

  702. course mean

  703. that Jesus

  704. was a liar

  705. and a

  706. deceiver.

  707. It would

  708. mean that

  709. the purpose

  710. of all the

  711. tricks would

  712. be to

  713. maintain this

  714. illusion that

  715. he has

  716. God-like

  717. powers and

  718. the goal

  719. would be to

  720. fool as

  721. many people

  722. as possible

  723. and perform

  724. these miracles,

  725. these tricks

  726. in front of

  727. everyone.

  728. And yet here

  729. Jesus does

  730. the opposite.

  731. He doesn't

  732. grab the body

  733. of the girl

  734. and go out

  735. and parade

  736. around and

  737. say hey

  738. everybody look

  739. check that

  740. she's dead.

  741. She really

  742. is dead.

  743. Right?

  744. And then

  745. raise her back

  746. to life.

  747. He doesn't

  748. stand in

  749. front of

  750. the door

  751. of the

  752. house and

  753. sell tickets

  754. for people

  755. to come

  756. in and

  757. first verify

  758. that she's

  759. dead only

  760. to have her

  761. come walk

  762. out later

  763. alive.

  764. Instead he

  765. goes into

  766. the house,

  767. he shuts

  768. out nine

  769. of his

  770. disciples and

  771. the massive

  772. crowd that

  773. was with

  774. him.

  775. He raises

  776. her from

  777. the dead

  778. and then

  779. orders her

  780. parents not

  781. to tell

  782. anyone

  783. what had

  784. happened.

  785. For a

  786. person whose

  787. goal is just

  788. fame or

  789. attention or

  790. profit,

  791. that doesn't

  792. fit.

  793. It's like

  794. Jesus doesn't

  795. want this

  796. family to

  797. become a

  798. public spectacle

  799. or to have

  800. to put up

  801. with countless

  802. people invading

  803. their space.

  804. So just

  805. don't tell

  806. anyone what

  807. I just did.

  808. Keep it to

  809. yourselves.

  810. Jesus knows

  811. what it's like

  812. to be swarmed

  813. by people and

  814. smothered by

  815. people and

  816. the last thing

  817. this family needs

  818. right now with

  819. what they've been

  820. through is that.

  821. No.

  822. The person who

  823. is putting on

  824. a show and

  825. is in it for

  826. the prophet is

  827. always asking

  828. for the

  829. referral.

  830. Right?

  831. How many times

  832. have we heard

  833. it?

  834. Could you

  835. please like

  836. and subscribe

  837. to my

  838. channel?

  839. Spread the

  840. word.

  841. Jairus,

  842. you're a

  843. prominent man.

  844. You're the

  845. synagogue leader.

  846. Would you

  847. tell everyone

  848. what I just

  849. did for your

  850. daughter?

  851. No.

  852. Jesus does

  853. the opposite.

  854. As much as

  855. you might feel

  856. like telling

  857. others what

  858. just happened,

  859. don't tell

  860. anyone.

  861. Keep it to

  862. yourself.

  863. Don't say a

  864. word about

  865. this at

  866. synagogue.

  867. There's only

  868. one explanation

  869. that really

  870. fits.

  871. However

  872. spectacular or

  873. improbable it

  874. may seem and

  875. it's that this

  876. little girl

  877. really did

  878. die.

  879. And that

  880. before that

  881. Jairus really

  882. did come to

  883. Jesus, a

  884. desperate man,

  885. and that he,

  886. Jesus really

  887. did raise her

  888. back to life

  889. from the

  890. dead.

  891. Because he

  892. really is the

  893. almighty son

  894. of God.

  895. And so again,

  896. back to the

  897. question, have

  898. you put your

  899. faith in

  900. Jesus?

  901. Have you

  902. believed in

  903. him?

  904. That's what

  905. this is all

  906. about.

  907. It's about

  908. who Jesus

  909. is.

  910. God wants

  911. us to see

  912. it.

  913. He wants

  914. us to know

  915. it.

  916. He wants

  917. us to believe

  918. it.

  919. God wants

  920. us to find

  921. his love

  922. and his

  923. grace and

  924. to be

  925. restored to

  926. him.

  927. And it

  928. comes through

  929. believing in

  930. Jesus, the

  931. one that he

  932. sent.

  933. I know I've

  934. shared these

  935. words so many

  936. times with you

  937. guys, you're

  938. probably sick

  939. of me saying

  940. them, but

  941. permit me one

  942. more time to

  943. share what's

  944. becoming my

  945. favorite words

  946. of Jesus.

  947. John 6

    John 6:40

  948. verse 40,

  949. Jesus said

  950. this, he

  951. said, for

  952. my father's

  953. will is that

  954. everyone who

  955. looks to the

  956. son and

  957. believes in

  958. him shall

  959. have eternal

  960. life.

  961. And I

  962. will raise

  963. them up at

  964. the last

  965. day.

  966. That's what

  967. God wants to

  968. do for you.

  969. He doesn't

  970. want death

  971. to have you.

  972. He made you

  973. for life.

  974. He made you

  975. for a

  976. relationship with

  977. him.

  978. But that good

  979. outcome can only

  980. come for us if

  981. we look to his

  982. son and believe

  983. in him.

  984. It's an amazing

  985. promise.

  986. Jesus has

  987. promised to

  988. raise all who

  989. believe in

  990. him back to

  991. life on the

  992. last day.

  993. And what he

  994. did for this

  995. 12-year-old

  996. girl is the

  997. proof that he

  998. can deliver.

  999. Let's pray.

  1000. Lord Jesus,

  1001. press your

  1002. words deep

  1003. into our

  1004. heart.

  1005. Convict us.

  1006. Invite us in

  1007. deeper than

  1008. we've been

  1009. before.

  1010. To know you

  1011. and to see

  1012. you for who

  1013. you are and

  1014. to understand

  1015. and know and

  1016. see your son

  1017. for who he

  1018. is.

  1019. We long

  1020. to have what

  1021. you have

  1022. promised.

  1023. This life.

  1024. We're in

  1025. awe that you

  1026. could just do

  1027. this.

  1028. Just take her

  1029. by the hand

  1030. and raise her

  1031. from the dead.

  1032. Such a

  1033. wonderful and

  1034. amazing thing

  1035. and it just

  1036. points to that

  1037. great hope we

  1038. have in you.

  1039. Life forever

  1040. with you in

  1041. your kingdom

  1042. someday.

  1043. We believe

  1044. that, Lord.

  1045. We ask that

  1046. you would just

  1047. fill us with

  1048. hope and joy

  1049. even in the

  1050. midst of all

  1051. the hard

  1052. things going

  1053. on in our

  1054. world today.

  1055. Make us

  1056. ambassadors of

  1057. your hope and

  1058. your good news.

  1059. We pray.

  1060. In your

  1061. son's name.

  1062. Amen.
