  1. Okay, we're going to start in a somewhat unusual way.

  2. Would you open up your Bibles to Ezekiel chapter 34?

    Ezekiel 34 chapter mention

  3. Now, here's how to find it.

  4. Just open your Bible to the middle.

  5. You're probably in a psalm, and then just start going right.

  6. And you'll see, like, Isaiah, and then you'll bump into Jeremiah,

  7. and then you may see lamentations fly by real fast,

  8. and then there is the prophecy of Ezekiel.

  9. Now, we're going to end up spending most of our time this morning in John chapter 10,

    John 10 chapter mention

  10. looking at the Good Shepherd.

  11. But in order to understand what's going on here,

  12. I want to read you sections of Ezekiel 34.

  13. This was written 600 plus years before Jesus spoke these words in John 10.

  14. Ezekiel 34.

  15. The word of the Lord came to me.

  16. Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel.

  17. Prophesy and say to them, even to the shepherds,

  18. Thus says the Lord God,

  19. Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves.

  20. Should not shepherds feed the sheep?

  21. You eat the fat.

  22. You clothe yourselves with the wool.

  23. You slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep.

  24. The weak you have not strengthened.

  25. The sick you have not healed.

  26. The injured you have not bound up.

  27. The strayed you have not brought back.

  28. The lost you have not sought.

  29. And with force and harshness you have ruled them.

  30. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd.

  31. And they became food for all the wild beasts.

  32. My sheep were scattered.

  33. They wandered all over the mountains and on every high hill.

  34. My sheep were scattered over the face of the earth with none to search for or seek for them.

  35. Verse 11.

  36. For thus says the Lord God,

  37. Behold, I, I myself, will search for my sheep

  38. and will seek them out as a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered.

  39. So will I seek out my sheep.

  40. And I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.

  41. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries

  42. and will bring them into their own land.

  43. And I will feed them.

  44. 14.

  45. I will feed them with good pasture.

  46. They will, shall lie down in good grazing land and on rich pasture.

  47. They shall feed on the mountains of Israel.

  48. Verse 15.

  49. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep.

  50. And I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God.

  51. I will seek the lost.

  52. And I will bring back the strayed.

  53. And I will bind up the injured.

  54. And I will strengthen the weak and fat.

  55. And the fat and strong I will destroy.

  56. I will feed them in justice.

  57. Verse 23.

  58. And I will set up over them one shepherd.

  59. My servant David.

  60. And he shall feed them.

  61. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.

  62. And I, the Lord, will be their God.

  63. And my servant David shall be prince among them.

  64. I am the Lord.

  65. I have spoken.

  66. Verse 30.

  67. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God with them.

  68. And that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Lord God.

  69. Verse 31.

  70. And you are my sheep.

  71. Human sheep of my pasture.

  72. And I am your God, declares the Lord God.

  73. In John 10.

  74. Jesus declares himself to be that shepherd.

  75. Gathering himself a flock of human sheep.

  76. This morning, we're getting back into our series on the church.

  77. And in verse, chapter 10 of John, verse 16, you could sum up this two-part series, this Sunday and next series, by saying,

  78. One flock, one shepherd.

  79. The one flock of God has one shepherd who is God.

  80. So, last week, we started a study of the church.

  81. And I'm not sure if you remembered this, but here's how I define the church.

  82. The church is the blood-bought people of God, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, on mission for Christ.

  83. And our desire, over the next two months, is to think about the church the way that God thinks about the church.

  84. To feel about the church the way that Jesus feels about his church.

  85. To prioritize the church the way the Holy Spirit prioritizes his church.

  86. And so, generally speaking, the New Testament offers a variety of different images of the blood-bought people of God.

  87. And we're going to hit a bunch of them.

  88. The Bible talks about the church as a body.

  89. It talks about the church as a bride, a holy temple, a royal priesthood, a family, a city set on a hill.

  90. In fact, one scholar, he has identified at least 100 distinct and different images of the church in the New Testament.

  91. And many of those images get pulled in together.

  92. Each image has its own unique contribution to our understanding of the blood-bought people of God.

  93. And this morning, we're going to look at one particular image, the flock of God.

  94. The blood-bought people of God.

  95. But, we're going to do it in two parts.

  96. We're going to look at, this morning, the shepherd of the flock.

  97. And then, next Sunday, we're going to emphasize the flock itself.

  98. Now, it's going to be overlap because this image, they're both together in John chapter 10.

    John 10 chapter mention

  99. And you'll see how this shakes out.

  100. But when it comes to the flock, the New Testament has a lot to say about it.

  101. Acts 20, 28, Paul gathers the elders of the Ephesian church.

  102. And he tells them, pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock who Jesus bought with his blood.

  103. 1 Peter 5, shepherd the flock that is among you.

  104. Hebrews 13, 20 and 21, Brian Winnington is going to close our service with a benediction that talks about the chief shepherd, Jesus.

  105. Matthew 26, 31 through 40, Jesus teaches on the final judgment.

  106. And he likens it to a shepherd who separates his sheep from the goats.

  107. John chapter 21, Jesus is reinstating Peter.

    John 21 chapter mention

  108. Do you remember this?

  109. Do you love me?

  110. Yes, I love you.

  111. Feed my lambs.

  112. Do you love me?

  113. Yes, I love you.

  114. Feed my sheep.

  115. Do you love me?

  116. You know I do.

  117. Feed my sheep.

  118. This morning, we're going to look at John chapter 10, where we will see Jesus describing himself as the good shepherd.

    John 10 chapter mention

  119. And he's going to talk about the people he laid his life down for, his sheep.

  120. He's talking about the church.

  121. So the point of this passage is to show a particular relationship between Jesus and his church.

  122. The shepherd and his flock.

  123. So in chapter 10, verse 16, we read, so there will be one flock, one shepherd.

  124. And so we can summarize this all by saying one flock, one shepherd.

  125. That's what John 10 is about.

  126. But if you want to get into a little more, we're saying this.

  127. We are one flock following our one shepherd.

  128. And if you want to press it a little bit more, we are one united flock following our one exclusive shepherd.

  129. There is none like him.

  130. And to that end this morning, I want to look at six truths about Jesus, the good shepherd, that makes him one of a kind.

  131. And we can't help as we look at the good shepherd, learn some things about us, his flock as well.

  132. The first truth about Jesus, the good shepherd, is his authority.

  133. Lou didn't read this this morning, but I want to bring it to your attention.

  134. Chapter 10, verses 1 through 5, Jesus says,

  135. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way,

  136. that man is a thief and a robber, but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

  137. To him the gatekeeper opens.

  138. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

  139. But when he has brought out all of his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

  140. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.

  141. What is this all about?

  142. Well, first thing you need to know is the you in verse 1.

  143. Truly, truly, I say to you, it has to do with what happened in chapter 9.

  144. Jesus is talking to a crowd of Jews, specifically to Pharisees.

  145. And these Pharisees were claiming to see Jesus for who he was, but in fact, they were blind to who Jesus really was.

  146. And what 1 through 5 of chapter 10 is, is about Jesus' legitimate authority and access to the sheep.

  147. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold.

  148. Now, when you hear the word sheepfold, I don't know what's going through your mind.

  149. So let's just help paint a picture of what a sheepfold in the first century, ancient Near East, typically look like.

  150. Well, it is this protected pen, oftentimes in a courtyard, in a village.

  151. And oftentimes it's using the wall of a house, kind of, or just kind of an exterior wall of a village.

  152. And from that, there's this thatchwork of sticks that were built together and woven together in order to form a sheep pen, a sheepfold.

  153. And what that was for, was for shepherds, remember this is an agrarian economy back in the day, there were sheep herders.

  154. And they would put their sheep in the sheep pen by night in order to protect them and keep them.

  155. Now, that sheep pen typically had an entryway.

  156. Sometimes it had a door, sometimes it didn't.

  157. So it wasn't unusual for shepherds to hire a gatekeeper by night to make sure no ill will was done to the sheep.

  158. One of the things about John chapter 10 is that there is this, Jesus weaves a contrast through this section.

    John 10 chapter mention

  159. And it has to do with who he's speaking to.

  160. He's speaking to the false shepherds of Israel, the Pharisees.

  161. And so there's this contrast that he starts building in verse 1.

  162. I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in another way, that man is a thief and robber.

  163. And otherwise, another way of saying, hey, if you see somebody climbing into a sheepfold, not through the entryway but going over the side, they're not legit.

  164. They don't have any business dealing with the sheep.

  165. And then in verse 2, he says, but the one who enters by the gate, he's the true shepherd of the sheep.

  166. He's legit.

  167. He's drawing a contrast to the people he's talking to.

  168. And then in verse 3, we see the kind of validation of it.

  169. Verse 3, the first beginning up to him, the gatekeeper opens.

  170. The gatekeeper recognizes that this shepherd is the legit shepherd.

  171. He lets him have access and authority to the sheep.

  172. And then the kind of piece de la resistance, the thing that validates that this is the shepherd of the sheep above all.

  173. The sheep.

  174. The sheep.

  175. The sheep hear his voice.

  176. So imagine a shepherd walking up to a sheep pen, greeted by the gatekeeper.

  177. As soon as those sheep in the pen hear his voice, they're turning heads.

  178. Their ears are kind of moving towards the shepherd because they recognize his voice.

  179. The sheep hear his voice.

  180. They turn to him.

  181. He calls his own sheep by name.

  182. Did you catch that?

  183. His own sheep by name.

  184. The likely picture is of a shepherd calling his own sheep by name from a sheepfold that has other sheep in it.

  185. He's calling select sheep out.

  186. The one that belongs to him.

  187. The ones that he calls out by name.

  188. Mike, come to me.

  189. And he leads them out.

  190. And when he brought them all out of his own out, he goes before them.

  191. And the sheep follow him for they know his voice.

  192. Now if you're familiar with western sheep herding practices, maybe you watch the movie Pig.

  193. Maybe you like Australian sheep dogs.

  194. And so you watch YouTube videos of Australian sheep herders herding their sheep.

  195. They, western sheep herders, they herd from behind.

  196. They drive their sheep.

  197. But in the ancient Near East and in the Middle East today, shepherds herd their sheep by going out in front of them.

  198. Because they recognize the shepherd's voice.

  199. And so the picture here is of a shepherd leading his sheep.

  200. Notice in verse 5, they don't follow a stranger because that stranger is not legit.

  201. So he is too illegitimate.

  202. So they quit him.

  203. Too illegit and they quit.

  204. Got it.

  205. But when it comes to the shepherd, the good shepherd, his sheep recognize his voice.

  206. Now this raises a little bit of a theological piece in the Gospel of John.

  207. Jesus is talking about these sheep as being his own.

  208. And he calls them out by name.

  209. If you flip in the Gospel of John back to chapter 6, verse 37 through 40.

  210. Finally, Jesus says some very interesting things about the people that God the Father has entrusted to him.

  211. Jesus says, all the Father gives me, speaking of people, will come to me.

  212. And whoever comes to me, I will never cast out.

  213. God has given Jesus a people.

  214. And they're going to come to him.

  215. And he will never cast them out.

  216. They'll never perish.

  217. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me, the Father.

  218. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing, none of all that he has given me.

  219. He's talking about people.

  220. But raise it up on the last day.

  221. God the Father has given God the Son a people that God the Son is going to lay his life down for, call out,

  222. and he's going to shepherd them all the way to the end.

  223. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life.

  224. And I will raise him up on the last day.

  225. Those who belong to Jesus believe in Jesus.

  226. So the sheep who hear his voice are the very human sheep the Father has given the shepherd's son,

  227. of whom he will lose none.

  228. Gather all to himself.

  229. Here's the point of what we're seeing.

  230. This is the point Jesus is making.

  231. He's talking to these Jews who don't like him.

  232. And he's saying, whether you recognize me or not, as the Christ, it's besides the point.

  233. Because the people who need to understand and hear me are my sheep.

  234. And they will hear my voice and respond to my call.

  235. Well, I'm the legitimate shepherd of Ezekiel 34.

  236. Move over.

  237. So there's a people, God the Father has given God the Son,

  238. whom Jesus will call out from the world to follow him.

  239. And I'm going to unpack that next week a little bit more.

  240. But what you need to see here is what Jesus is developing in John 10

  241. is a very interesting way to talk about the relationship between the master and his disciples.

  242. The shepherd-sheep relationship is a very helpful way to illustrate

  243. the authoritative and affectionate relationship between master and disciple.

  244. Jesus and all of the blood-bought.

  245. So what we see here is that Jesus is the legitimate shepherd.

  246. He has authority over his flock.

  247. One flock, one shepherd obeying the voice of their one exclusive shepherd, Jesus.

  248. Now, I'm going to put in a little fast forward.

  249. We're going to start moving a little faster.

  250. The second truth that I want you to see that makes Jesus one of a kind

  251. is his personal knowledge of his flock.

  252. We see that in verse 3.

  253. He says,

  254. To him the gatekeeper opens, the sheep hear his voice,

  255. and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

  256. God the Father has given God the Son of people, right?

  257. Now, the mistake we can make is thinking that God has just given this mob of people

  258. with kind of blurry faces,

  259. and God's kind of like,

  260. Well, I got this mob of people that nobody really knows.

  261. In Revelation chapter 7,

    Revelation 7 chapter mention

  262. this mob of people who Jesus laid his life down for

  263. is a multitude without number from every tribe, tongue, and nation.

  264. But here Jesus is saying,

  265. They're not blurry faces to me.

  266. I know them each by name.

  267. Which means he knows you by name.

  268. If you are a follower of Jesus,

  269. if you've been called out,

  270. if you know him as your good shepherd,

  271. he knows you by name.

  272. He knows everything about you.

  273. Have you ever experienced someone,

  274. you meet someone for the first time,

  275. you say your name once,

  276. and then that person,

  277. the next time you see him or her,

  278. they got your name.

  279. They know you.

  280. It's so dignifying.

  281. It's so welcoming.

  282. It has this sense of that person took the time

  283. to really concentrate on learning my name,

  284. and that person wants to know me.

  285. That name,

  286. Jesus knowing your name,

  287. means he knows you through and through.

  288. If you look down to verses 14 and 15,

  289. we read this.

  290. I'm the good shepherd, Jesus says.

  291. I know my own,

  292. and my own know me.

  293. We'll come back to that my own know me next week.

  294. I know my own.

  295. So is Jesus here just kind of saying,

  296. I know the facts about you.

  297. I know their name,

  298. their height, weight, IQ.

  299. I know their income.

  300. Blah-ba-dee, blah-ba-dee, blah-ba-dee.

  301. He knows that.

  302. Is that,

  303. is that all?

  304. Look at verse 15,

  305. because in verse 15,

  306. Jesus tells us

  307. the kind of knowing with which he knows us.

  308. In verse 15 he says,

  309. just as the Father knows me,

  310. and I know the Father.

  311. I know my own,

  312. and my own know me,

  313. just as the Father knows me,

  314. and I know the Father.

  315. He's comparing

  316. his knowledge of us

  317. with his knowledge

  318. in relationship to the Father,

  319. and the Father's relationship to him.

  320. A relationship between

  321. God the Father,

  322. and God the Son,

  323. that's marked by a loving relationship

  324. of mutuality.

  325. They belong to each other.

  326. There's clear distinctions

  327. in their personhood,

  328. clear distinctions in authority.

  329. We have the Father and the Son,

  330. but there is a fullness of affection.

  331. A loving relationship.

  332. His knowing us

  333. is him loving us.

  334. Loving all that we are.

  335. He knows us personally.

  336. So much though,

  337. not only knows us each by name,

  338. he loves us each thoroughly.

  339. If you look down to verse 27

  340. of chapter 10,

  341. Jesus says,

  342. my sheep hear my voice,

  343. and I know them,

  344. and they follow me.

  345. Jesus isn't describing

  346. a strictly professional relationship

  347. between shepherd and sheep.

  348. Jesus is describing

  349. a personal,

  350. intimate,

  351. loving affection

  352. between master and disciple.

  353. Here's what this means.

  354. He knows you.

  355. He knows exactly where you're at.

  356. And he loves you where you are.

  357. He loves you.

  358. And not just does he love you,

  359. he loves us as a church.

  360. The good shepherd loves us,

  361. his people.

  362. And not just this local church,

  363. the universal church,

  364. all of his flock,

  365. he loves his people.

  366. So when we are kind of getting

  367. on the outset of a search

  368. for a worship leader,

  369. we have confidence

  370. that our good shepherd

  371. loves us,

  372. and he knows what we need.

  373. He goes before us.

  374. He personally knows

  375. each and every one

  376. of his own blood-bought sheep

  377. by name,

  378. including you.

  379. One flock,

  380. one shepherd.

  381. We are one united flock

  382. following our one

  383. exclusive shepherd

  384. who lovingly knows us

  385. each by name.

  386. The third truth

  387. is that flows out

  388. of what we just read

  389. about Jesus,

  390. his loving knowledge of us.

  391. He cares for his flock.

  392. We see this in verses

  393. seven through ten.

  394. And I think that this is

  395. going to minister

  396. to some of you in the room.

  397. Verses one through five,

  398. he's talking about

  399. his legitimate authority

  400. and access

  401. through the gate

  402. to the sheep.

  403. And in verses seven

  404. through ten,

  405. he switches it up a little bit.

  406. Now he's talking

  407. about himself

  408. as the gate,

  409. as the door

  410. to the sheepfold.

  411. So Jesus said to them,

  412. again,

  413. the Jews,

  414. particularly Pharisees,

  415. truly, truly,

  416. I say to you,

  417. I am the door

  418. of the sheep.

  419. I mean,

  420. what's he doing here?

  421. This seems weird.

  422. He was just talking

  423. about a shepherd,

  424. now he's talking

  425. about a door,

  426. and he comes back

  427. to shepherd talk

  428. in verse 11 and 14.

  429. So,

  430. is he shifting this up?

  431. Let me assure you,

  432. Jesus isn't kind of

  433. putting the whole

  434. shepherd talk on hold.

  435. Let me explain.

  436. Don't imagine

  437. in your minds

  438. when Jesus says,

  439. I am the door

  440. of the sheepfold,

  441. don't imagine

  442. the sheepfold

  443. with a wood door

  444. and the name Jesus

  445. burned into the door.

  446. Don't think that.

  447. Here's what you need

  448. to think.

  449. Jesus is talking

  450. about a role

  451. of the shepherd.

  452. Not all sheepfolds

  453. in the first century

  454. had doors.

  455. And so,

  456. if a sheepfold

  457. didn't have a door,

  458. a sheepherder

  459. would either

  460. employ a hired hand

  461. to stand guard,

  462. or the shepherd himself

  463. would lie down

  464. in the entryway

  465. of a shepherd,

  466. of a sheepfold,

  467. as the shepherd door.

  468. And that performed

  469. two functions.

  470. We see one in verse 8.

  471. All who came before me

  472. are thieves and robbers,

  473. but the sheep

  474. did not listen to them.

  475. The shepherd in the door

  476. keeps out the bad guys,

  477. thieves and robbers.

  478. Do you know who Jesus

  479. is talking about there?

  480. He's talking about

  481. the religious leaders

  482. of that day

  483. that he's speaking to.

  484. And in the first part

  485. of verse 10,

  486. Jesus helps us

  487. understand the intent

  488. of these thieves and robbers.

  489. The thief comes only

  490. to steal and kill

  491. and destroy.

  492. Jesus,

  493. the shepherd door,

  494. protects his human flock

  495. from the bad guys

  496. with bad intent,

  497. so he protects his flock

  498. by keeping out

  499. death and destruction.

  500. Get it?

  501. But in verse 9,

  502. it's the other side of that.

  503. He is the entryway

  504. to life.

  505. Jesus says

  506. in verse 9,

  507. I am the door

  508. if anyone,

  509. if any human,

  510. if any sheep,

  511. if anyone enters

  512. through me,

  513. by me,

  514. he will be saved

  515. in all of that,

  516. what that means

  517. and go in and out

  518. and find pasture.

  519. I'm going to provide you

  520. life,

  521. good pasture.

  522. Now,

  523. there should be

  524. a couple things

  525. popping in your head

  526. right now.

  527. He makes me

  528. lie down

  529. in green pastures.

  530. He leads me

  531. beside still waters.

  532. He restores my soul,

  533. Psalm 23.

  534. Remember when we were

  535. reading through Ezekiel 34

  536. how God himself

  537. will feed his sheep

  538. on the highlands of Israel,

  539. just the choice food?

  540. It's a picture of life.

  541. And that's why

  542. in John 10, 10,

  543. the second half,

  544. Jesus talks about

  545. I came that they might

  546. have life

  547. and have it abundantly.

  548. I came

  549. to provide

  550. abundant

  551. life

  552. pasture

  553. to all

  554. of my sheep.

  555. The bad guys

  556. come to steal,

  557. kill,

  558. and destroy.

  559. But the good shepherd

  560. came

  561. and he is the door

  562. to his legitimate sheep

  563. that they may have life

  564. and have it

  565. to the full.

  566. If you look down

  567. at 10, 28,

  568. he says,

  569. I give them

  570. eternal life

  571. and they will

  572. never

  573. perish.

  574. Later on

  575. in John 17,

  576. Jesus says,

  577. and this is eternal life,

  578. that you know

  579. God

  580. and me,

  581. the Son.

  582. Eternal life

  583. is defined

  584. by Jesus

  585. in terms of being

  586. in right relationship

  587. to him.

  588. So if you know

  589. God through Christ,

  590. you will never

  591. perish.

  592. You have abundant

  593. life

  594. starting now.

  595. The good shepherd

  596. wants to give you

  597. good pasture.

  598. In 738,

  599. Jesus talks about it

  600. this way,

  601. about giving a heart

  602. from which flows

  603. rivers of living water.

  604. It's a reference

  605. to the Holy Spirit.

  606. The Holy Spirit

  607. in us

  608. perpetually,

  609. non-stop,

  610. giving us life

  611. that quenches

  612. our deepest

  613. soul thirst.

  614. the good shepherd

  615. gives abundant

  616. life

  617. to his sheep.

  618. He protects

  619. and he provides.

  620. Now,

  621. I just need to make

  622. one qualification

  623. here

  624. because you're like,

  625. man,

  626. my life

  627. doesn't look like that.

  628. The situation

  629. that sparked

  630. all this

  631. good shepherd talk

  632. was the healing

  633. of a blind man

  634. in chapter 9.

  635. And that blind man,

  636. Jesus,

  637. came up to

  638. spit into some mud,

  639. put it onto his eyes

  640. and tell,

  641. go wash that off

  642. in the pool of Siloam.

  643. The blind man

  644. never saw Jesus.

  645. He just

  646. heard his voice.

  647. And then after

  648. he's healed,

  649. there's this

  650. big hubbub.

  651. And he begins

  652. to identify himself,

  653. the former blind man,

  654. he begins to identify

  655. himself

  656. as one of

  657. Jesus' disciples.

  658. Even though

  659. he's never seen Jesus,

  660. he's just heard

  661. about Jesus.

  662. His parents

  663. kind of

  664. ostracize him

  665. and then this

  666. climax

  667. is in

  668. this man

  669. born blind

  670. but now

  671. given sight

  672. by Jesus

  673. whom he just

  674. heard in obedience.

  675. The Pharisees

  676. kick him out

  677. of the synagogue

  678. which is basically

  679. being kicked out

  680. of a church.

  681. The men

  682. who could see

  683. Jesus

  684. but were blind

  685. to who he really

  686. was

  687. kicked the blind

  688. man

  689. who didn't

  690. see Jesus

  691. but believed

  692. in him

  693. when was given

  694. sight out.

  695. You see it?

  696. So why am I

  697. telling you

  698. all this stuff?

  699. Well when

  700. this man

  701. born blind

  702. healed by Jesus

  703. finally meets

  704. up with Jesus

  705. again

  706. and sees him

  707. for the first

  708. time

  709. one would

  710. think

  711. that this

  712. blind man

  713. now who can

  714. see

  715. would be like

  716. oh man

  717. this stinks

  718. parents

  719. have kind of

  720. virtually

  721. disowned me

  722. I got kicked

  723. out of the

  724. synagogue

  725. bug

  726. bummer

  727. one would

  728. think

  729. that that

  730. kind of

  731. alienating

  732. would crush

  733. one

  734. but do you

  735. know what

  736. this

  737. blind man

  738. who can

  739. now see

  740. do you

  741. know what

  742. he does

  743. when

  744. Jesus

  745. says

  746. hey

  747. you're

  748. looking at

  749. the guy

  750. that healed

  751. you

  752. do you

  753. know what

  754. he does

  755. 938

  756. he says

  757. Lord

  758. I believe

  759. and he

  760. worshipped

  761. Jesus

  762. that's

  763. what

  764. abundant

  765. life

  766. looks like

  767. it

  768. is

  769. thriving

  770. joyful

  771. living

  772. for

  773. Jesus

  774. despite

  775. your

  776. circumstances

  777. being in

  778. right

  779. relationship

  780. to God

  781. through

  782. Jesus

  783. does

  784. that

  785. he

  786. cared

  787. for

  788. that

  789. blind

  790. man

  791. now

  792. who

  793. is

  794. given

  795. sight

  796. and

  797. Jesus

  798. the

  799. good

  800. shepherd

  801. cares

  802. for

  803. you

  804. to

  805. protect

  806. and

  807. to

  808. provide

  809. the

  810. fourth

  811. truth

  812. his

  813. sacrificial

  814. good

  815. on behalf

  816. of

  817. his

  818. flock

  819. this

  820. is

  821. verses

  822. 11

  823. 18

  824. and

  825. this

  826. is

  827. where

  828. the

  829. thickness

  830. of

  831. the

  832. passage

  833. shows

  834. up

  835. in

  836. these

  837. verses

  838. Jesus

  839. refers

  840. to

  841. himself

  842. as

  843. the

  844. good

  845. shepherd

  846. he

  847. does

  848. that

  849. three

  850. times

  851. twice

  852. in

  853. verse

  854. 11

  855. you can

  856. see

  857. it

  858. I

  859. am

  860. the

  861. good

  862. shepherd

  863. the

  864. and

  865. once

  866. in

  867. verse

  868. 14

  869. I

  870. am

  871. the

  872. good

  873. shepherd

  874. so

  875. the

  876. question

  877. becomes

  878. what

  879. does

  880. he

  881. mean

  882. by

  883. good

  884. well

  885. in

  886. classic

  887. Jesus

  888. style

  889. he

  890. starts

  891. off

  892. with

  893. a

  894. picture

  895. of

  896. bad

  897. shepherding

  898. in

  899. verses

  900. 12

  901. and

  902. 13

  903. he

  904. says

  905. hey

  906. we've

  907. all

  908. seen

  909. the

  910. hired

  911. man

  912. before

  913. he

  914. who

  915. is

  916. a

  917. hired

  918. man

  919. hand

  920. and

  921. not

  922. a

  923. shepherd

  924. look

  925. at

  926. who

  927. does

  928. not

  929. own

  930. the

  931. sheep

  932. the

  933. sheep

  934. do

  935. not

  936. belong

  937. like

  938. that

  939. who

  940. does

  941. not

  942. own

  943. the

  944. sheep

  945. they

  946. don't

  947. belong

  948. to

  949. him

  950. when

  951. he

  952. sees

  953. a

  954. wolf

  955. coming

  956. he

  957. turns

  958. tail

  959. to

  960. save

  961. his

  962. own

  963. life

  964. and

  965. when

  966. he

  967. does

  968. that

  969. the

  970. sheep

  971. are

  972. snatched

  973. by

  974. the

  975. wolf

  976. and

  977. scattered

  978. he's

  979. again

  980. giving

  981. a

  982. dig

  983. against

  984. the

  985. Pharisees

  986. verse

  987. 13

  988. he

  989. says

  990. a

  991. hired

  992. man

  993. because

  994. the

  995. sheep

  996. don't

  997. belong

  998. to

  999. him

  1000. he

  1001. doesn't

  1002. care

  1003. for

  1004. their

  1005. safety

  1006. when

  1007. a

  1008. beast

  1009. point

  1010. not

  1011. the

  1012. good

  1013. shepherd

  1014. the

  1015. good

  1016. of

  1017. the

  1018. good

  1019. shepherd

  1020. is

  1021. what

  1022. he

  1023. will

  1024. do

  1025. for

  1026. his

  1027. sheep

  1028. in

  1029. danger

  1030. and

  1031. this

  1032. good

  1033. is

  1034. the

  1035. same

  1036. good

  1037. that

  1038. makes

  1039. good

  1040. Friday

  1041. good

  1042. each

  1043. time

  1044. Jesus

  1045. brings

  1046. up

  1047. that

  1048. he

  1049. is

  1050. the

  1051. good

  1052. shepherd

  1053. there

  1054. is

  1055. this

  1056. explicit

  1057. link

  1058. to

  1059. him

  1060. laying

  1061. down

  1062. his

  1063. life

  1064. look

  1065. at

  1066. verse

  1067. 11

  1068. I'm

  1069. the

  1070. good

  1071. shepherd

  1072. the

  1073. good

  1074. shepherd

  1075. lays

  1076. down

  1077. his

  1078. life

  1079. for

  1080. the

  1081. sheep

  1082. 14

  1083. I'm

  1084. the

  1085. good

  1086. shepherd

  1087. I

  1088. know

  1089. my own

  1090. my own

  1091. know

  1092. me

  1093. just

  1094. as

  1095. the

  1096. father

  1097. knows

  1098. me

  1099. and

  1100. I

  1101. know

  1102. the

  1103. father

  1104. and

  1105. I

  1106. lay

  1107. down

  1108. my

  1109. life

  1110. for

  1111. the

  1112. sheep

  1113. and

  1114. then

  1115. in

  1116. verses

  1117. 17

  1118. and

  1119. 18

  1120. three

  1121. more

  1122. times

  1123. he

  1124. talks

  1125. about

  1126. laying

  1127. down

  1128. his

  1129. life

  1130. for

  1131. the

  1132. sheep

  1133. and

  1134. twice

  1135. he

  1136. talks

  1137. about

  1138. taking

  1139. it

  1140. up

  1141. again

  1142. his

  1143. resurrection

  1144. the

  1145. greatest

  1146. danger

  1147. facing

  1148. his

  1149. sheep

  1150. was

  1151. his

  1152. sheep's

  1153. sinfulness

  1154. and

  1155. remember

  1156. verse 14

  1157. I know

  1158. my own

  1159. I know

  1160. my own

  1161. and

  1162. so

  1163. the

  1164. good

  1165. shepherd

  1166. on

  1167. good

  1168. Friday

  1169. gave

  1170. his

  1171. own

  1172. life

  1173. to

  1174. cover

  1175. over

  1176. to

  1177. atone

  1178. for

  1179. the

  1180. sin

  1181. of

  1182. his

  1183. own

  1184. sheep

  1185. so

  1186. that

  1187. they

  1188. can

  1189. come

  1190. into

  1191. a

  1192. relationship

  1193. with

  1194. him

  1195. and

  1196. become

  1197. part

  1198. of

  1199. his

  1200. flock

  1201. the

  1202. greatest

  1203. good

  1204. the

  1205. defining

  1206. good

  1207. was

  1208. Jesus

  1209. giving

  1210. his

  1211. life

  1212. for

  1213. his

  1214. own

  1215. and

  1216. taking

  1217. it

  1218. up

  1219. again

  1220. it's

  1221. absolutely

  1222. vital

  1223. to

  1224. making

  1225. us

  1226. his

  1227. own

  1228. his

  1229. sacrificial

  1230. good

  1231. of

  1232. laying

  1233. down

  1234. his

  1235. life

  1236. makes

  1237. us

  1238. his

  1239. own

  1240. his

  1241. death

  1242. is

  1243. what

  1244. makes

  1245. us

  1246. the

  1247. blood

  1248. bought

  1249. people

  1250. of

  1251. God

  1252. he

  1253. perished

  1254. so

  1255. that

  1256. we

  1257. would

  1258. not

  1259. perish

  1260. we

  1261. are

  1262. one

  1263. united

  1264. flock

  1265. following

  1266. our

  1267. one

  1268. exclusive

  1269. shepherd

  1270. who

  1271. laid

  1272. down

  1273. his

  1274. life

  1275. willingly

  1276. of

  1277. his

  1278. own

  1279. accord

  1280. with

  1281. his

  1282. authority

  1283. under

  1284. the

  1285. charge

  1286. of

  1287. his

  1288. father

  1289. for

  1290. the

  1291. glory

  1292. of

  1293. the

  1294. father's

  1295. name

  1296. five

  1297. the

  1298. fifth

  1299. truth

  1300. he's

  1301. gathering

  1302. all

  1303. of

  1304. his

  1305. flock

  1306. I'm

  1307. going to

  1308. develop

  1309. this

  1310. more

  1311. next

  1312. week

  1313. let

  1314. me

  1315. just

  1316. touch

  1317. on

  1318. it

  1319. now

  1320. in

  1321. verse

  1322. three

  1323. we

  1324. get

  1325. a

  1326. hint

  1327. of

  1328. something

  1329. to

  1330. him

  1331. the

  1332. gatekeeper

  1333. opens

  1334. the

  1335. sheep

  1336. hear

  1337. his

  1338. voice

  1339. and

  1340. he

  1341. calls

  1342. his

  1343. own

  1344. sheep

  1345. by

  1346. name

  1347. and

  1348. leads

  1349. them

  1350. out

  1351. he

  1352. calls

  1353. out

  1354. his

  1355. sheep

  1356. from

  1357. the

  1358. other

  1359. sheep

  1360. in

  1361. the

  1362. sheep

  1363. fold

  1364. he

  1365. says

  1366. come

  1367. come

  1368. to

  1369. me

  1370. come

  1371. out

  1372. of

  1373. them

  1374. come

  1375. to

  1376. me

  1377. and

  1378. become

  1379. part

  1380. of

  1381. my

  1382. flock

  1383. Jesus

  1384. in

  1385. John

  1386. 10

  1387. is

  1388. addressing

  1389. Jews

  1390. so

  1391. he's

  1392. saying

  1393. in

  1394. verse

  1395. three

  1396. I

  1397. am

  1398. calling

  1399. by

  1400. name

  1401. human

  1402. sheep

  1403. from

  1404. the

  1405. Jewish

  1406. sheep

  1407. fold

  1408. now

  1409. if you

  1410. look down

  1411. at verses

  1412. 15

  1413. and 16

  1414. remember

  1415. in

  1416. 14

  1417. says

  1418. I

  1419. am

  1420. the

  1421. good

  1422. shepherd

  1423. I

  1424. know

  1425. my

  1426. own

  1427. and

  1428. my

  1429. own

  1430. know

  1431. me

  1432. just

  1433. as

  1434. the

  1435. father

  1436. knows

  1437. me

  1438. and

  1439. I

  1440. know

  1441. the

  1442. father

  1443. and

  1444. I

  1445. lay

  1446. down

  1447. my

  1448. life

  1449. for

  1450. the

  1451. sheep

  1452. and

  1453. he

  1454. says

  1455. in

  1456. verse

  1457. 16

  1458. and

  1459. I

  1460. have

  1461. other

  1462. sheep

  1463. that

  1464. are

  1465. not

  1466. of

  1467. this

  1468. fold

  1469. I

  1470. must

  1471. I

  1472. must

  1473. I

  1474. must

  1475. bring

  1476. them

  1477. also

  1478. and

  1479. they

  1480. will

  1481. listen

  1482. to

  1483. my

  1484. voice

  1485. so

  1486. there

  1487. will

  1488. be

  1489. one

  1490. flock

  1491. one

  1492. shepherd

  1493. Jesus

  1494. is

  1495. calling

  1496. a

  1497. worldwide

  1498. flock

  1499. unto

  1500. himself

  1501. not

  1502. only

  1503. from

  1504. the

  1505. Jewish

  1506. sheep

  1507. fold

  1508. but

  1509. sheep

  1510. outside

  1511. of that

  1512. sheep

  1513. fold

  1514. for

  1515. the

  1516. Jewish

  1517. mind

  1518. there

  1519. was

  1520. two

  1521. groups

  1522. of

  1523. people

  1524. in

  1525. the

  1526. world

  1527. Jews

  1528. and

  1529. non

  1530. Jews

  1531. also

  1532. known

  1533. as

  1534. Gentiles

  1535. and

  1536. so

  1537. when

  1538. Jesus

  1539. says

  1540. I've

  1541. got

  1542. sheep

  1543. none

  1544. of

  1545. this

  1546. fold

  1547. he's

  1548. saying

  1549. I've

  1550. got

  1551. sheep

  1552. that

  1553. I

  1554. laid

  1555. my

  1556. life

  1557. down

  1558. for

  1559. who

  1560. I

  1561. know

  1562. and

  1563. will

  1564. know

  1565. me

  1566. and

  1567. they

  1568. are

  1569. from

  1570. the

  1571. Gentile

  1572. sheep

  1573. fold

  1574. and

  1575. I'm

  1576. going

  1577. to

  1578. gather

  1579. them

  1580. from

  1581. the

  1582. Jews

  1583. I'm

  1584. going

  1585. to

  1586. gather

  1587. them

  1588. from

  1589. the

  1590. Gentiles

  1591. and

  1592. I'm

  1593. going

  1594. to

  1595. make

  1596. one

  1597. whole

  1598. new

  1599. blood

  1600. bought

  1601. flock

  1602. my

  1603. church

  1604. and

  1605. that

  1606. word

  1607. must

  1608. carries

  1609. the

  1610. sense

  1611. of

  1612. urgency

  1613. it

  1614. carries

  1615. the

  1616. sense

  1617. of

  1618. verse

  1619. 18

  1620. discharge

  1621. Jesus

  1622. says

  1623. I

  1624. have

  1625. received

  1626. from

  1627. my

  1628. father

  1629. I

  1630. will

  1631. do

  1632. this

  1633. he's

  1634. talking

  1635. about

  1636. the

  1637. global

  1638. church

  1639. all

  1640. the

  1641. blood

  1642. bought

  1643. people

  1644. of

  1645. God

  1646. from

  1647. multiple

  1648. sheep

  1649. folds

  1650. indwelt

  1651. by the

  1652. Holy

  1653. Spirit

  1654. on

  1655. mission

  1656. for

  1657. the

  1658. good

  1659. shepherd

  1660. and

  1661. I

  1662. want

  1663. to

  1664. press

  1665. on

  1666. you

  1667. today

  1668. that

  1669. this

  1670. must

  1671. is

  1672. still

  1673. in

  1674. effect

  1675. the

  1676. good

  1677. shepherd

  1678. is

  1679. still

  1680. gathering

  1681. himself

  1682. sheep

  1683. from

  1684. multiple

  1685. sheep

  1686. folds

  1687. from

  1688. white

  1689. sheep

  1690. folds

  1691. from

  1692. black

  1693. sheep

  1694. folds

  1695. from

  1696. Jewish

  1697. and

  1698. Gentile

  1699. from

  1700. Republican

  1701. and

  1702. Democrat

  1703. he's

  1704. calling

  1705. them

  1706. all

  1707. unto

  1708. himself

  1709. they

  1710. hear

  1711. his

  1712. name

  1713. he's

  1714. laid

  1715. his

  1716. life

  1717. down

  1718. they

  1719. come

  1720. after

  1721. him

  1722. they

  1723. must

  1724. come

  1725. after

  1726. him

  1727. they

  1728. can't

  1729. resist

  1730. his

  1731. call

  1732. because

  1733. they

  1734. were

  1735. given

  1736. to

  1737. him

  1738. by

  1739. the

  1740. father

  1741. I'm

  1742. going to

  1743. develop

  1744. this

  1745. a little

  1746. bit

  1747. more

  1748. next

  1749. week

  1750. but

  1751. when

  1752. we

  1753. talk

  1754. about

  1755. being

  1756. one

  1757. united

  1758. flock

  1759. following

  1760. one

  1761. exclusive

  1762. shepherd

  1763. being

  1764. one

  1765. flock

  1766. turns out

  1767. to be

  1768. harder

  1769. than

  1770. it

  1771. sounds

  1772. the

  1773. fifth

  1774. truth

  1775. is

  1776. he's

  1777. gathering

  1778. a

  1779. flock

  1780. now

  1781. there's

  1782. no one

  1783. like

  1784. him

  1785. and

  1786. the

  1787. sixth

  1788. truth

  1789. is

  1790. a

  1791. promise

  1792. he

  1793. makes

  1794. to

  1795. his

  1796. flock

  1797. that's

  1798. in

  1799. verses

  1800. 28

  1801. and

  1802. 30

  1803. it

  1804. sets

  1805. him

  1806. apart

  1807. only

  1808. he

  1809. can

  1810. make

  1811. this

  1812. promise

  1813. he

  1814. makes

  1815. this

  1816. promise

  1817. to

  1818. those

  1819. who

  1820. he's

  1821. called

  1822. by

  1823. name

  1824. those

  1825. whom

  1826. he

  1827. knows

  1828. those

  1829. who

  1830. heard

  1831. his

  1832. voice

  1833. and

  1834. follow

  1835. him

  1836. to

  1837. those

  1838. whom

  1839. he

  1840. has

  1841. laid

  1842. his

  1843. life

  1844. for

  1845. to

  1846. those

  1847. whom

  1848. he

  1849. has

  1850. gathered

  1851. into

  1852. one

  1853. flock

  1854. with

  1855. one

  1856. shepherd

  1857. to

  1858. them

  1859. and

  1860. to

  1861. them

  1862. alone

  1863. he

  1864. makes

  1865. a

  1866. stunning

  1867. promise

  1868. in

  1869. verses

  1870. 28

  1871. through

  1872. 30

  1873. look at

  1874. verse

  1875. 28

  1876. he

  1877. says

  1878. I

  1879. give

  1880. them

  1881. eternal

  1882. life

  1883. and

  1884. they

  1885. will

  1886. never

  1887. perish

  1888. promise

  1889. and

  1890. no

  1891. one

  1892. will

  1893. snatch

  1894. them

  1895. out

  1896. of

  1897. my

  1898. hand

  1899. the

  1900. last

  1901. time

  1902. we

  1903. encountered

  1904. the

  1905. word

  1906. snatch

  1907. was

  1908. in

  1909. verse

  1910. 12

  1911. when

  1912. the

  1913. hired

  1914. hand

  1915. bolts

  1916. and

  1917. the

  1918. wolf

  1919. comes

  1920. and

  1921. snatch

  1922. the

  1923. sheep

  1924. not

  1925. so

  1926. with

  1927. Jesus

  1928. you

  1929. can't

  1930. snatch

  1931. one of

  1932. Jesus

  1933. feet

  1934. sheep

  1935. out of

  1936. his

  1937. hands

  1938. because

  1939. they

  1940. belong

  1941. to

  1942. Jesus

  1943. no

  1944. one

  1945. no

  1946. thing

  1947. will

  1948. snatch

  1949. any

  1950. of

  1951. Jesus

  1952. sheep

  1953. from

  1954. his

  1955. hand

  1956. because

  1957. that

  1958. hand

  1959. is

  1960. a

  1961. pierced

  1962. hand

  1963. a

  1964. hand

  1965. that

  1966. was

  1967. buried

  1968. a

  1969. hand

  1970. that

  1971. was

  1972. raised

  1973. that

  1974. hand

  1975. is

  1976. the

  1977. hand

  1978. of

  1979. the

  1980. risen

  1981. shepherd

  1982. Christ

  1983. no

  1984. one

  1985. will

  1986. snatch

  1987. any

  1988. of

  1989. Jesus

  1990. own

  1991. from

  1992. his

  1993. hand

  1994. because

  1995. they

  1996. belong

  1997. to

  1998. him

  1999. by

  2000. virtue

  2001. of

  2002. his

  2003. death

  2004. and

  2005. his

  2006. resurrection

  2007. they

  2008. are

  2009. his

  2010. you

  2011. can't

  2012. you

  2013. can't

  2014. pull

  2015. them

  2016. away

  2017. from

  2018. him

  2019. they're

  2020. his

  2021. you're

  2022. his

  2023. no

  2024. one

  2025. can

  2026. snatch

  2027. you

  2028. out

  2029. of

  2030. his

  2031. hand

  2032. they

  2033. will

  2034. not

  2035. perish

  2036. because

  2037. he

  2038. has

  2039. perished

  2040. for

  2041. his

  2042. own

  2043. but

  2044. it

  2045. gets

  2046. better

  2047. verse

  2048. 29

  2049. my

  2050. father

  2051. who

  2052. has

  2053. given

  2054. them

  2055. to

  2056. me

  2057. is

  2058. greater

  2059. than

  2060. all

  2274. a

  2275. promise

  2276. one

  2277. flock

  2278. one

  2279. shepherd

  2280. we

  2285. flock

  2286. following

  2287. one

  2289. shepherd

  2290. who's

  2291. promised

  2292. to

  2293. never

  2303. you

  2304. a

  2305. sigh

  2306. of

  2307. relief

  2308. it's

  2309. based

  2310. on

  2311. Christ's

  2312. finished

  2313. work

  2314. so

  2315. he

  2316. alone

  2317. is

  2318. our

  2319. one

  2320. exclusive

  2321. shepherd

  2322. and I

  2323. hope

  2324. you're

  2325. hearing

  2326. that

  2327. as

  2328. good

  2329. news

  2330. okay

  2331. let me

  2332. just

  2333. hit

  2334. four

  2335. quick

  2336. things

  2337. how

  2338. this

  2339. particular

  2340. image

  2341. of the

  2342. church

  2343. shepherd

  2344. and

  2345. flock

  2346. uniquely

  2347. contributes

  2348. to our

  2349. understanding

  2350. of the

  2351. church

  2352. it

  2353. portrays

  2354. the

  2355. master

  2356. discipleship

  2357. relationship

  2358. in

  2359. pastoral

  2360. terms

  2361. shepherd

  2362. and

  2363. sheep

  2364. it's

  2365. clear line

  2366. of

  2367. authority

  2368. Jesus

  2369. is the

  2370. leader

  2371. we are

  2372. his

  2373. followers

  2374. second

  2375. it

  2376. depicts

  2377. a

  2378. necessary

  2379. dependence

  2380. between

  2381. the

  2382. sheep

  2383. and

  2384. the

  2385. good

  2386. shepherd

  2387. we

  2388. need

  2389. him

  2390. he

  2391. he

  2392. doesn't

  2393. need

  2394. us

  2395. but

  2396. he's

  2397. committed

  2398. to

  2399. us

  2400. out

  2401. of

  2402. his

  2403. love

  2404. for

  2405. us

  2406. he's

  2407. going

  2408. to

  2409. provide

  2410. and

  2411. protect

  2412. us

  2413. we

  2414. need

  2415. him

  2416. we're

  2417. dependent

  2418. on

  2419. him

  2420. third

  2421. we

  2422. follow

  2423. him

  2424. in

  2425. a

  2426. community

  2427. a

  2428. community

  2429. of

  2430. sheep

  2431. following

  2432. a

  2433. shepherd

  2434. is

  2435. a

  2436. flock

  2437. a

  2438. community

  2439. of

  2440. Christians

  2441. following

  2442. after

  2443. Jesus

  2444. is

  2445. a

  2446. church

  2447. we

  2448. follow

  2449. Jesus

  2450. together

  2451. more

  2452. next

  2453. week

  2454. but let

  2455. me

  2456. just

  2457. say

  2458. this

  2459. there

  2460. is

  2461. no

  2462. such

  2463. thing

  2464. as

  2465. a

  2466. flock

  2467. of

  2468. one

  2469. sheep

  2470. and

  2471. there's

  2472. no

  2473. such

  2474. thing

  2475. as

  2476. a

  2477. church

  2478. of

  2479. one

  2480. Christian

  2481. four

  2482. there's

  2483. no one

  2484. like

  2485. a

  2486. good

  2487. shepherd

  2488. if

  2489. there's

  2490. one

  2491. thing

  2492. you're

  2493. pulling

  2494. out

  2495. of

  2496. John

  2497. 10

  2498. it's

  2499. this

  2500. there's

  2501. no

  2502. one

  2503. like

  2504. him

  2505. there's

  2506. no

  2507. one

  2508. like

  2509. him

  2510. who

  2511. lays

  2512. down

  2513. his

  2514. life

  2515. for

  2516. the

  2517. sheep

  2518. he

  2519. is

  2520. the

  2521. focal

  2522. point

  2523. of

  2524. the

  2525. church

  2526. he

  2527. is

  2528. the

  2529. one

  2530. we

  2531. follow

  2532. together

  2533. it's

  2534. all

  2535. about

  2536. Jesus

  2537. of

  2538. what

  2539. he's

  2540. done

  2541. for

  2542. us

  2543. of

  2544. what

  2545. he's

  2546. doing

  2547. for

  2548. us

  2549. of

  2550. what

  2551. he

  2552. will

  2553. do

  2554. for

  2555. us

  2556. he's

  2557. one

  2558. of a

  2559. kind

  2560. in

  2561. authority

  2562. over

  2563. his

  2564. flock

  2565. knowledge

  2566. of

  2567. his

  2568. flock

  2589. is

  2590. our

  2591. one

  2592. exclusive

  2593. shepherd

2594. and can I have an amen

  2595. that's good news

  2596. that's good news

  2597. we the church

  2598. are the blood

  2599. bought people

  2600. of God

  2601. indwelt

  2602. by the

  2609. if Jesus

  2610. is calling

  2611. you to

  2612. follow

  2613. him

  2614. you'll

  2615. know it

  2616. because

  2617. he's

  2618. calling

  2626. let's

  2627. pray

  2628. God

  2629. in

  2630. heaven

  2631. we

  2632. thank you

  2633. so

  2634. much

  2635. for

  2636. John

  2637. 10

  2638. we feel

  2639. the limits

  2640. of time

  2641. so we're

  2651. to think

  2652. your thoughts

  2653. about your

  2654. church

  2655. father

  2656. Jesus

  2657. would you
