  1. Well, good morning and welcome again to Digital Church.

  2. Glad you're able to tune in so that we can worship together.

  3. Let's hear our call to worship, which comes from Psalm 123.

  4. Reminds us of the attitude we are to bring as we come to God.

  5. I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven.

  6. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress,

  7. so our eyes look to the Lord our God till he shows us mercy.

  8. We look to our great God who is good, who is loving, and we will ask him to show us mercy.

  9. And we'll recenter our hearts and our minds on him as we worship.

  10. Let's sing together.

  11. There, first of all, Behold Our God, and then two sections of Psalm 103, and Kellan will lead us in this.

  12. Who has held the oceans in his hands?

  13. Who has numbered every grain of salt?

  14. Kings and nations tremble at his voice.

  15. O creation rises to rejoice.

  16. Behold our God, seated on his throne.

  17. Come, let us adore him.

  18. Behold our King, nothing can compare.

  19. Come, let us adore him.

  20. Who has given counsel to the Lord?

  21. Who can question any of his words?

  22. Who can teach the one who knows all things?

  23. Who can follow all his wondrous deeds?

  24. Behold our God, seated on his throne.

  25. Come, let us adore him.

  26. Come, let us adore him.

  27. Behold our King, nothing can compare.

  28. Come, let us adore him.

  29. God, let us adore him.

  30. Who has felt the nails upon his hands,

  31. bearing all the guilt of sin for me.

  32. God eternal, humble to the grave,

  33. Jesus, Savior, risen now to reign.

  34. Behold our God, seated on his throne,

  35. come let us adore him.

  36. Behold our King, nothing can compare,

  37. come let us adore him.

  38. Amen.

  39. Amen.

  40. Amen.

  41. Amen.

  42. Amen.

  43. Amen.

  44. Amen.

  45. Praise God, my soul, with all my heart.

  46. Let me exalt his holy name.

  47. Forget not all his benefits.

  48. His praise, my soul, in song proclaim.

  49. The Lord forgives you all your sins,

  50. and heals your sickness and distress.

  51. Your life he rescues from the grave,

  52. and crowns you in his tenderness.

  53. And crowns you in his tenderness.

  54. Amen.

  55. Amen.

  56. Amen.

  57. Amen.

  58. The Lord is merciful and kind,

  59. to anger slow and full of grace.

  60. He will not constantly reprove,

  61. or in his anger hide his face.

  62. He does not punish our misdeeds,

  63. or give our sins their just reward.

  64. How brave his love, as high as heaven,

  65. towards all those who fear the Lord.

  66. Towards all those who fear the Lord.

  67. Now, let's continue to worship as we pray.

  68. Lord, we began with a psalm that encouraged us

  69. to look to you with humble dependence,

  70. that you might show us mercy.

  71. We ask that you'd help us to look to Jesus,

  72. to see him as our Lord,

  73. to see him as our King,

  74. to see him as our only Saviour,

  75. to recognise him as that friend

  76. who sticks closer than any brother,

  77. that good shepherd who laid down his life for us,

  78. who wants to lead and guide and protect us.

  79. And that we would look to you

  80. to show mercy to us,

  81. and to our nation and to our world

  82. in this time of trouble that we find ourselves in.

  83. Lord, we place ourselves into your care,

  84. recognising our own limitations and inabilities,

  85. and trusting that you are all sufficient,

  86. that you have power for us.

  87. You have wisdom where we lack it.

  88. We need your love,

  89. and you are ready to show that to us.

  90. Lord, we pray for those who need special help.

  91. We pray for any who are feeling particularly lonely or isolated.

  92. We pray for those who are suffering through the virus,

  93. and we pray that you might spare them.

  94. We think of our NHS workers who are on the front line.

  95. We pray for them in difficult conditions,

  96. with their own anxiety,

  97. with families that care for them.

  98. We thank you for the way they are willing to love,

  99. and to serve, and to care.

  100. And we ask that you would protect them.

  101. Lord, we pray for mercy that the virus would slow,

  102. that it would be contained.

  103. And we also pray for mercy that this would be a time of us reassessing what we live for,

  104. that it might be a chance for us to slow down and to think about you,

  105. maybe for the first time in our lives.

  106. Lord, we thank you that we're coming up to Easter,

  107. at the time when we remember that in your great love,

  108. you sent Jesus into the world to live a perfect life of obedience that we all fail to live,

  109. then to die as a sacrifice for sin,

  110. so that by trusting in him,

  111. we might be forgiven and we might have the gift of eternal life.

  112. We thank you that we remember that he didn't stay dead,

  113. but that he rose in victory,

  114. that you, Lord God, were satisfied

  115. with the sacrifice that he offered on behalf of his people.

  116. And so we ask that you'd help us to prepare

  117. our hearts and our minds for Easter.

  118. And we pray that our world that so badly needs hope

  119. would come to find real hope in Jesus during Easter.

  120. Amen.

  121. Now, let's read together.

  122. Let's hear the word of God again.

  123. We're back in Romans chapter 3.

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  124. And we're going to concentrate on verses 22 to 24 today.

  125. But let's hear verses 21 to 26 again.

  126. Through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus,

  127. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement

  128. through faith in his blood.

  129. He did this to demonstrate his justice

  130. because in his forbearance,

  131. he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.

  132. He did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time

  133. so as to be just

  134. and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

  135. Now, let's think about those words that we find

  136. in verses 22 to 24

  137. as we continue to think about how the cross is good news.

  138. Our question for today is this one.

  139. How can I find a future-proof hope?

  140. Perhaps like the commentators,

  141. you're beginning to ask the question,

  142. what will life be like post-COVID-19?

  143. What will the economic impact be nationally, globally

  144. and in your own family finances?

  145. What jobs and industries will make it

  146. and which will fold?

  147. And what will the implications be for your own work?

  148. What about social gatherings?

  149. Those simple pleasures we used to enjoy,

  150. will they be the same or will they be different?

  151. When we think about all the impact this pandemic is having,

  152. it is fair to say it comes to us as a destructive enemy.

  153. It is interrupting normal life.

  154. It is isolating us from one another

  155. and the everyday things we used to take for granted.

  156. It is relentless in pursuing us in every corner of life.

  157. We wake up and we check the news

  158. and we hear it in conversation

  159. and we see it in government restrictions

  160. when we go shopping or go for a walk.

  161. And it leads us to ask the question,

  162. will I get through this okay?

  163. What will the impact be?

  164. What will the final outcome of it all be in my life?

  165. And here's why I want to say today

  166. that the cross stands as good news

  167. and good news we all need today.

  168. The cross gives hope against this enemy that we face

  169. and against the even greater enemy of death

  170. that lurks in the background.

  171. It helps us to answer the question,

  172. our passage will help us answer the question,

  173. how can Jesus' death equip me

  174. to deal with these setbacks and suffering?

  175. How can I find a hope that is future-proof?

  176. So we're going to look at that section of Romans 3

  177. to see what we can discover.

  178. First of all, just as we saw last week,

  179. it begins with bad news.

  180. It begins with the bad news

  181. of falling short of God's glory.

  182. Notice we're all included in this.

  183. Verse 22, there is no difference

  184. for all have sinned

  185. and fall short of the glory of God.

  186. Now, in recent years,

  187. there has been the rise

  188. of the superhero origin stories

  189. and you may or may not be interested in that,

  190. but they all have a backstory

  191. or they're filling in a backstory to explain

  192. how did our character get here

  193. and how did he get to be like this?

  194. Where do we find the origin story for humanity?

  195. It is found in Genesis 1-3.

  196. How did we get here?

  197. Well, we were created by God

  198. in his image

  199. to display his glory

  200. and to worship and to enjoy him.

  201. Two pictures that might help us.

  202. Think of your life as a mirror.

  203. We were made to reflect God's glory

  204. in God's world.

  205. Not to take glory for ourselves,

  206. but to reflect it out the way.

  207. Or think about a small statue.

  208. In the ancient Near East,

  209. when Moses was writing Genesis,

  210. kings would place these little statues

  211. around their kingdom to say,

  212. I reign here,

  213. to remind those in the kingdom,

  214. this is the king who's in charge of us.

  215. The Bible says we are God's living icons.

  216. And we live in this world

  217. for his glory to say,

  218. our king, our God reigns.

  219. So when we read Genesis 1-2,

  220. we find a picture of absolute perfection,

  221. perfect relationships,

  222. perfect love,

  223. enjoying life that is flourishing and good.

  224. So we need to ask ourselves the question,

  225. how did the world get to be like this?

  226. Like it is today

  227. with all its brokenness,

  228. with all its sadness and pain.

  229. And that's why we need Genesis chapter 3.

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  230. Genesis chapter 3 explains

    Genesis 3 chapter mention

  231. the reality of all falling short

  232. of the glory of God.

  233. And it begins with Adam and Eve

  234. in the Garden of Eden.

  235. Adam and Eve's sin,

  236. where they listened to the voice

  237. of the snake,

  238. the devil,

  239. and they were deceived

  240. to pursue their own glory,

  241. to seek to be like God themselves

  242. and to stop listening to God

  243. and his word.

  244. And with that came curse.

  245. So all the brokenness,

  246. all the fall,

  247. all the pain that we experience

  248. is a direct result

  249. of what happened there in the garden,

  250. Adam and Eve's sin.

  251. It led them to lose

  252. their perfect standing,

  253. their righteousness before God.

  254. They are driven out of the garden,

  255. God's perfect place

  256. where he lived with them.

  257. And they're told that ultimately

  258. they would die.

  259. And since then,

  260. as people,

  261. we are mirrors,

  262. we are reflecting

  263. the image of God,

  264. but we are cracked

  265. and broken mirrors.

  266. We fail to truly reflect

  267. the glory of God.

  268. We, to use the language

  269. of Romans 3,

  270. we fall short

  271. of the glory of God

  272. in our lives.

  273. So we can see that

  274. in various ways.

  275. Three ways we see it.

  276. We miss the glory of God

  277. like a target

  278. that we aim for,

  279. but we miss.

  280. Let me speak to families

  281. just for a moment.

  282. I wonder if you are finding

  283. that you're playing

  284. lots of different games

  285. at this time

  286. to pass some of the time.

  287. When you read the rules

  288. for certain games,

  289. and hopefully you do

  290. read the rules,

  291. they can be helpful,

  292. classic games

  293. like Monopoly

  294. and Uno,

  295. you will notice now

  296. they deliberately advise

  297. against playing

  298. by house rules,

  299. those sort of made-up

  300. family rules.

  301. Their basic point is

  302. we are the game designers,

  303. we know the best way

  304. to play,

  305. and perhaps you've had

  306. that experience

  307. that house rules

  308. can lead to chaos

  309. and carnage

  310. and all kinds of confusion.

  311. Well, here's the point

  312. for us in our life.

  313. God is our grand designer.

  314. And when we ignore

  315. his rule,

  316. and when we ignore

  317. his rules for our life,

  318. we will miss

  319. what is best,

  320. we will miss

  321. his glory

  322. and the enjoyment

  323. of it.

  324. And even when we try

  325. to live by the rules,

  326. we realise that we

  327. miss the mark

  328. so often,

  329. we break those rules,

  330. so again,

  331. we miss that standard

  332. of God's glory.

  333. So we miss,

  334. we fall short

  335. of the glory of God.

  336. We also fall short

  337. because we swap,

  338. we exchange

  339. the glory of God

  340. and we give glory

  341. to other things.

  342. We talk about

  343. idolatry

  344. and in our culture

  345. and society,

  346. we talk about

  347. idolatry,

  348. things that are

  349. idols in our hearts

  350. and in our lives.

  351. What does that mean?

  352. What does that look like?

  353. Well, it's when we

  354. treasure something,

  355. anything,

  356. more than Jesus.

  357. That might be another person,

  358. it might be an object,

  359. it might be a career,

  360. it might be financial security,

  361. it might be our beauty

  362. or intelligence.

  363. When we place anything

  364. as the most important thing

  365. in our life,

  366. that's an idol for us.

  367. When we find our value

  368. or significance

  369. in anything else,

  370. that's an idol to us.

  371. And one of the things

  372. that this coronavirus pandemic

  373. is showing to us,

  374. I think,

  375. is that so many

  376. of the idols

  377. that we live for,

  378. so much that we place

  379. our hope in,

  380. we're now discovering

  381. those things can be lost

  382. and they can be taken

  383. from us,

  384. whether that's our health,

  385. whether that's our finance,

  386. whether that's our job security,

  387. whether that's our relationships.

  388. And we discover

  389. that these things

  390. are too small,

  391. we need something bigger

  392. to place our hope in.

  393. So we swap

  394. a treasuring God

  395. for something else.

  396. We also deliberately

  397. sometimes rob God

  398. of glory.

  399. So remember,

  400. according to the Bible,

  401. we're made as living icons.

  402. We are to represent,

  403. to reflect,

  404. and to worship God

  405. because of his glory.

  406. But we take that glory

  407. that belongs to God,

  408. we take it to ourselves

  409. so often.

  410. It's like we take

  411. a can of spray paint

  412. and all over God's creation

  413. we graffiti,

  414. I rule,

  415. okay.

  416. Not God rules,

  417. I rule.

  418. God is forgotten.

  419. We live for number one

  420. so we fall short

  421. of the glory of God

  422. when we rob God

  423. of what he deserves.

  424. And the result is

  425. we do not have

  426. a right standing with God.

  427. We remain separated

  428. from God

  429. by our sin.

  430. we face a verdict

  431. of condemned

  432. at the end of our lives

  433. and without Jesus,

  434. all of us,

  435. we're in the same crisis.

  436. So whether morally

  437. or religiously

  438. or spiritually,

  439. you feel like you're

  440. in the gutter,

  441. in the lowest kind of place,

  442. or whether you feel

  443. like you're on the mountaintop

  444. and you're doing really well

  445. as a good person,

  446. none of us

  447. can reach the stars.

  448. not one of us

  449. can reach God's

  450. perfect standard.

  451. So if we trust

  452. in ourselves,

  453. we will not have

  454. future hope.

  455. We will not have

  456. God's positive verdict

  457. which is the one

  458. verdict to live for.

  459. So that's the bad news.

  460. But there is good news,

  461. there is great news

  462. here in our passage

  463. that we are justified

  464. and we are redeemed

  465. by Jesus.

  466. There are three

  467. words and ideas

  468. full of good news.

  469. Let's just remind ourselves

  470. of verse 24.

  471. We are justified freely

  472. by his grace

  473. through the redemption

  474. that came by Christ Jesus.

  475. Justified,

  476. redemption

  477. and free grace.

  478. Let's look at each of these.

  479. Let's think about justify.

  480. This takes us

  481. into a law court

  482. and in God's law court

  483. there are two verdicts

  484. that can be passed

  485. on a person.

  486. We can either be condemned

  487. or we can be justified.

  488. Now according to the Bible,

  489. according to Romans 3,

  490. what do we deserve?

  491. We deserve condemnation

  492. because we've fallen short

  493. of God's glory.

  494. We have broken his law

  495. and we've been guilty

  496. of spiritual treason

  497. where we've sought

  498. to take him off the throne

  499. to place ourselves there.

  500. So then it stands

  501. as good news

  502. that by faith in Jesus

  503. we are actually

  504. given the verdict

  505. of justified.

  506. That means that

  507. our sins are pardoned,

  508. our wrongdoing

  509. is covered over

  510. and that's wonderful,

  511. isn't it?

  512. And also,

  513. God declares of us

  514. there is no basis

  515. for any charges

  516. against that person.

  517. You and I,

  518. by faith in Jesus,

  519. we can be considered

  520. moral,

  521. good citizens,

  522. perfect law keepers.

  523. Now how can that be?

  524. You know your heart,

  525. I know mine.

  526. How can this be?

  527. Well this is why

  528. the cross is such good news

  529. because there at the cross

  530. a great exchange

  531. takes place.

  532. Jesus takes my sin

  533. and my guilt

  534. and he faces

  535. the punishment for that

  536. there on the cross

  537. and in exchange

  538. I am forgiven

  539. and I am pardoned.

  540. Jesus lives and dies

  541. in perfect loving obedience

  542. to his Father

  543. and he gives that to us,

  544. to his people,

  545. so that we can be reckoned

  546. to be in right standing

  547. with God

  548. while he takes our sin

  549. and our guilt.

  550. Here is the love of God.

  551. Jesus is willing

  552. to take your guilty verdict

  553. and to give you

  554. his righteous record

  555. if you will simply

  556. believe in him.

  557. This is why we call

  558. Good Friday good.

  559. What's happening there

  560. on the cross

  561. as Jesus dies,

  562. he is going under

  563. the curse of God

  564. for the law

  565. that is broken

  566. and he's doing that

  567. for his people

  568. so that by faith

  569. we can receive

  570. God's blessing.

  571. Jesus faces death

  572. on the cross

  573. so that by trusting in him

  574. he can grant to us

  575. eternal life.

  576. Jesus there on the cross

  577. is being punished

  578. so that when we

  579. believe that he is

  580. our saviour,

  581. that he died for us,

  582. we are pardoned.

  583. And then on Easter Sunday

  584. Jesus is raised to life

  585. and his people

  586. share in that new life,

  587. in that new victory,

  588. in that great future hope

  589. that Jesus won

  590. by defeating our enemies

  591. of Satan

  592. and sin and death.

  593. So in Jesus

  594. we are justified

  595. and that is good,

  596. good news.

  597. then there is also

  598. the word redemption

  599. and I guess maybe

  600. we are familiar

  601. with the word redemption.

  602. We talk about redemption codes

  603. for online shopping

  604. and we think about

  605. sporting redemption

  606. where failure

  607. becomes success.

  608. Well for Paul's readers,

  609. so Paul wrote

  610. the book of Romans

  611. and according to the Bible

  612. we need to think

  613. what does redemption mean?

  614. Well for first century

  615. people living in Rome

  616. who would get Paul's letter

  617. first of all,

  618. they would go to the marketplace

  619. and they would think

  620. redemption price

  621. was the price

  622. to release a slave

  623. from the slave market.

  624. When somebody

  625. who knew their Bibles

  626. read this

  627. they would think

  628. of the story

  629. of the Exodus

  630. of the time

  631. when the nation

  632. of Israel

  633. was slaves

  634. to Pharaoh

  635. in Egypt

  636. and God acted

  637. in power

  638. to release them,

  639. to redeem them.

  640. or they might think

  641. of the image

  642. of the figure

  643. in the Old Testament

  644. of the kinsman redeemer.

  645. So when a person

  646. an Old Testament Israelite

  647. got themselves

  648. into financial difficulties

  649. they could

  650. sell some land

  651. or they could

  652. sell themselves

  653. into slavery

  654. and a kinsman redeemer

  655. could then pay

  656. a price

  657. to buy back

  658. that land

  659. or buy back

  660. that person

  661. from their debt.

  662. So there is

  663. a price paid,

  664. there is a redeemer

  665. and the outcome

  666. is freedom.

  667. So how is the cross

  668. of Jesus?

  669. Good news.

  670. Well the Bible

  671. makes clear

  672. and our own conscience

  673. I think testifies

  674. to us

  675. that we are

  676. slaves to sin.

  677. Unable

  678. to live

  679. for God's glory

  680. as we should.

  681. Unwilling

  682. to live

  683. for God's glory

  684. because we want

  685. glory for ourselves.

  686. So we have this debt

  687. hanging over us

  688. that's a growing debt.

  689. We owe God

  690. perfect love

  691. and perfect obedience

  692. in all of our life

  693. all of our days

  694. and that is a debt

  695. that we can never

  696. and could never pay.

  697. And so

  698. Jesus

  699. is good news

  700. to us

  701. because he

  702. pays

  703. for us.

  704. He is the one

  705. who pays

  706. the ransom.

  707. The ransom price

  708. is his blood.

  709. Peter,

  710. a friend of Jesus

  711. said we weren't

  712. redeemed by silver

  713. and gold

  714. we're redeemed

  715. by the precious

  716. blood of Jesus.

  717. through him

  718. spilling his blood

  719. shedding his blood

  720. there is forgiveness

  721. for our sin

  722. and his perfect life

  723. of absolute obedience

  724. and always giving glory

  725. to his father

  726. meets that standard

  727. that we fail

  728. to keep.

  729. So redemption

  730. is found

  731. in Jesus

  732. and again

  733. here is the love

  734. of God.

  735. Jesus has come

  736. to set you free.

  737. Free

  738. from a guilty

  739. verdict on your life

  740. so that you can say

  741. now there is no

  742. condemnation for me

  743. because I'm trusting

  744. in Jesus.

  745. All that shame

  746. and that guilt

  747. that we feel

  748. in our lives

  749. Jesus wants to set

  750. us free

  751. by paying that price

  752. and covering

  753. our sin

  754. and our shame

  755. and Jesus wants

  756. to set you free

  757. from fear of death

  758. and judgment

  759. because he wants

  760. to give you

  761. the hope of eternal

  762. life and security

  763. and knowing

  764. there is joy

  765. to come after

  766. and that only happens

  767. because God

  768. loves

  769. because God

  770. in Jesus

  771. stoops down

  772. and enters in

  773. because God

  774. through Jesus

  775. takes the initiative

  776. to rescue us

  777. and that takes us

  778. to our last word

  779. the idea of

  780. free grace

  781. we are justified

  782. freely

  783. by his grace

  784. through the redemption

  785. that comes from Jesus

  786. so you might be asking

  787. at this point

  788. well this sounds wonderful

  789. what do I need to do

  790. and that's our instinct

  791. isn't it

  792. but the answer is

  793. there is nothing

  794. we need to do

  795. Jesus has paid it all

  796. when Jesus said

  797. on the cross

  798. it is finished

  799. he meant his work

  800. of salvation

  801. was complete

  802. so what's left

  803. for us to do

  804. is to say sorry

  805. for us

  806. and to turn away

  807. from it

  808. and to accept

  809. the free gift

  810. by faith

  811. that free gift

  812. of a right standing

  813. with God

  814. of peace

  815. with God

  816. of being redeemed

  817. we are to believe

  818. on Jesus

  819. to go with empty hands

  820. to our generous Father

  821. and ask him

  822. to fill us

  823. with his love

  824. and with his peace

  825. and when we do that

  826. he will

  827. so the Bible says

  828. to us

  829. that Jesus alone

  830. can give

  831. a future proof hope

  832. a hope beyond

  833. any and all

  834. the enemies

  835. that we face

  836. COVID-19

  837. and others

  838. this virus

  839. is a powerful

  840. and indeed

  841. a painful reminder

  842. to us

  843. that some things

  844. can

  845. and some things

  846. will

  847. be taken from us

  848. but God

  849. God's love

  850. for us

  851. in Jesus

  852. it can never

  853. be lost

  854. it can never

  855. be taken from us

  856. Jesus has come

  857. to where we are

  858. he has entered

  859. into our broken world

  860. so that one day

  861. he will take us

  862. to be where he is

  863. a perfect world

  864. of hope

  865. and peace

  866. of enjoying

  867. his glory

  868. forever

  869. in a world

  870. without sickness

  871. and pain

  872. and death

  873. so when your life

  874. is full of fear

  875. when you are

  876. full of uncertainty

  877. Jesus

  878. gives hope

  879. by faith

  880. in Jesus

  881. the final

  882. verdict

  883. on your life

  884. is brought

  885. forward

  886. so that you

  887. can know

  888. today

  889. in an uncertain

  890. world

  891. here is one

  892. thing I am

  893. sure of

  894. I am sure

  895. that I am

  896. loved by God

  897. that I am

  898. accepted by God

  899. that beyond death

  900. there is life

  901. and joy

  902. for me

  903. how do we

  904. know that

  905. where do we

  906. look to find

  907. that security

  908. we look to

  909. Jesus death

  910. on the cross

  911. we see him

  912. paying the price

  913. to redeem us

  914. so that by

  915. grace

  916. you and I

  917. might be

  918. justified

  919. now let's

  920. sing

  921. together

  922. a hymn

  923. that will help

  924. us to

  925. remember

  926. that great

  927. truth

  928. the hymn

  929. is Christ

  930. the sure

  931. and steady

  932. anchor

  933. Christ the

  934. sure

  935. and steady

  936. anchor

  937. in the

  938. fury

  939. of the

  940. storm

  941. when the

  942. winds of

  943. doubt

  944. blow through

  945. me

  946. and my

  947. sails

  948. have all

  949. been torn

  950. in the

  951. suffering

  952. in the

  953. sorrow

  954. when my

  955. sinking

  956. hopes

  957. are few

  958. I will

  959. hold fast

  960. to the

  961. anchor

  962. it shall

  963. never

  964. never

  965. be revealed

  966. Christ the

  967. sure

  968. and steady

  969. anchor

  970. while the

  971. tempest

  972. rages on

  973. when temptation

  974. claims the

  975. battle

  976. and it

  977. seems

  978. the

  979. night

  980. has

  981. won

  982. deeper

  983. still

  984. then

  985. goes

  986. the

  987. anchor

  988. though

  989. I

  990. justly

  991. stand

  992. accused

  993. I

  994. will

  995. hold

  996. fast

  997. to

  998. the

  999. anchor

  1000. it

  1001. shall

  1002. never

  1003. be

  1004. removed

  1005. Christ the

  1006. sure

  1007. and steady

  1008. anchor

  1009. through the

  1010. floods

  1011. of

  1012. unbelief

  1013. hopeless

  1014. somehow

  1015. oh my

  1016. soul

  1017. now

  1018. lift

  1019. your

  1020. eyes

  1021. to

  1022. calvary

  1023. this

  1024. my

  1025. ballast

  1026. of

  1027. assurance

  1028. see

  1029. his

  1030. love

  1031. forever

  1032. proved

  1033. I

  1034. will

  1035. hold

  1036. fast

  1037. to

  1038. the

  1039. anchor

  1040. it

  1041. shall

  1042. never

  1043. be

  1044. removed

  1045. Christ the

  1046. sure

  1047. friend

  1048. steady

  1049. anchor

  1050. as we

  1051. face

  1052. the wave

  1053. of death

  1054. when these

  1055. trials

  1056. give way

  1057. to glory

  1058. and we

  1059. draw

  1060. our

  1061. final

  1062. breath

  1063. we

  1064. will

  1065. cross

  1066. that

  1067. great

  1068. horizon

  1069. clouds

  1070. behind

  1071. and

  1072. life

  1073. secured

  1074. and the

  1075. cup

  1076. will

  1077. be

  1078. the

  1079. better

  1080. for

  1081. the

  1082. storms

  1083. that

  1084. we

  1085. endure

  1086. rise

  1087. the

  1088. shore

  1089. of

  1090. our

  1091. salvation

  1092. ever

  1093. faithful

  1094. ever

  1095. true

  1096. we

  1097. will

  1098. hold

  1099. fast

  1100. to

  1101. the

  1102. anchor

  1103. it

  1104. shall

  1105. never

  1106. be

  1107. moved

  1108. and

  1109. now

  1110. let's

  1111. pray

  1112. together

  1113. using

  1114. the

  1115. words

  1116. at the

  1117. end

  1118. of

  1119. Romans

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  1120. chapter

  1121. 8

  1122. a

  1123. wonderful

  1124. chapter

  1125. of

  1126. hope

  1127. of

  1128. future

  1129. glory

  1130. of

  1131. being

  1132. more

  1133. than

  1134. conquerors

  1135. through

  1136. Jesus

  1137. so here's

  1138. how it

  1139. finishes

  1140. I am

  1141. convinced

  1142. that neither

  1143. death nor

  1144. life

  1145. neither

  1146. angels nor

  1147. demons

  1148. neither the

  1149. present nor

  1150. the future

  1151. nor any

  1152. powers

  1153. neither

  1154. height nor

  1155. depth

  1156. nor anything

  1157. else in all

  1158. creation

  1159. will be able

  1160. to separate

  1161. us from

  1162. the love

  1163. of God

  1164. that is in

  1165. Christ Jesus

  1166. our Lord

  1167. may each

  1168. one of us

  1169. know

  1170. that love

  1171. of God

  1172. may each

  1173. one of you

  1174. have that

  1175. security

  1176. of knowing

  1177. that nothing

  1178. can separate

  1179. you from

  1180. God's love

  1181. if you are

  1182. in Christ

  1183. Jesus

  1184. may you

  1185. know that

  1186. today

  1187. and every

  1188. day

  1189. amen

  1190. and now

  1191. before you

  1192. go

  1193. a couple

  1194. of things

  1195. first of

  1196. all

  1197. to say

  1198. that

  1199. on

  1200. Good

  1201. Friday

  1202. which is

  1203. this coming

  1204. Friday

  1205. we will

  1206. have

  1207. I'm not

  1208. sure of

  1209. the details

  1210. yet but

  1211. check

  1212. YouTube

  1213. check our

  1214. website

  1215. check Facebook

  1216. we will

  1217. have

  1218. some form

  1219. of

  1220. Good

  1221. Friday

  1222. service

  1223. that will

  1224. certainly

  1225. include

  1226. readings

  1227. and

  1228. reflections

  1229. and hopefully

  1230. we can have

  1231. some

  1232. songs to

  1233. sing as

  1234. well

  1235. so

  1236. join us

  1237. then

  1238. you'll

  1239. keep your

  1240. eye out for

  1241. the details

  1242. and then

  1243. this week

  1244. digital tea

  1245. and coffee

  1246. we'd love

  1247. to do

  1248. something a

  1249. little bit

  1250. different

  1251. and we'd

  1252. love to

  1253. see a

  1254. bit of

  1255. a group

  1256. mix-up

  1257. to see

  1258. new people

  1259. having the

  1260. chance to

  1261. join in

  1262. so normally

  1263. it tends

  1264. to be

  1265. community

  1266. groups

  1267. sticking

  1268. together

  1269. but what

  1270. we thought

  1271. would be

  1272. a good

  1273. idea

  1274. since I

  1275. guess

  1276. it's going

  1277. to be

  1278. a little

  1279. while

  1280. before

  1281. we're

  1282. together

  1283. again

  1284. and to

  1285. remind

  1286. ourselves

  1287. that we're

  1288. all part

  1289. of one

  1290. big

  1291. families

  1292. that we'd

  1293. have a

  1294. chance

  1295. to join

  1296. with

  1297. different

  1298. people

  1299. and have

  1300. a chat

  1301. so at

  1302. 12pm

  1303. there will

  1304. be different

  1305. digital hosts

  1306. waiting to

  1307. welcome you

  1308. share a

  1309. time of

  1310. friendship

  1311. bring your

  1312. own cup

  1313. of tea

  1314. and coffee

  1315. bring a

  1316. cake

  1317. or a

  1318. biscuit

  1319. and enjoy

  1320. that

  1321. if you

  1322. don't have

  1323. the details

  1324. check your

  1325. emails

  1326. or check

  1327. Elvanto

  1328. and you can

  1329. find how

  1330. you can

  1331. join in

  1332. with that

  1333. so be

  1334. brave

  1335. embrace

  1336. the

  1337. technology

  1338. and enjoy

  1339. a time of

  1340. friendship

  1341. together
