  1. Now, we will read together in our Bibles a couple of sections.

  2. First of all, from Ephesians chapter 2.

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  3. So in the New Testament, Ephesians chapter 2,

    Ephesians 2 chapter mention

  4. where we're going to hear of temple imagery being used in the New Testament.

  5. And then we're going to turn to Haggai chapter 2 and read the first nine verses.

    Haggai 2 chapter mention

  6. So here in Ephesians 2, let's hear God's word.

  7. Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called uncircumcised

  8. by those who call themselves the circumcision, which is done in the body by human hands,

  9. remember that at that time you were separate from Christ,

  10. excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise,

  11. without hope and without God in the world.

  12. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

  13. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one,

  14. and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

  15. by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations.

  16. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two,

  17. thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross,

  18. by which he put to death their hostility.

  19. He came and preached peace to you who are far away and peace to those who are near.

  20. For through him, we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

  21. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers,

  22. but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household,

  23. built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,

  24. with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

  25. In him, the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

  26. And in him, you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

  27. In a sense, what we have there is a recognition that in God's purpose,

  28. the temple was always supposed to be a place of worship,

  29. not just for the Jews, but ultimately for the nations of the world.

  30. And while the physical temple failed to do that, Jesus does.

  31. Now, Haggai chapter 2 in the Old Testament, towards the very end of the Old Testament,

    Haggai 2 chapter mention

  32. and we are going to read verses 1 to 9.

  33. In the second year of King Darius, on the 21st day of the seventh month,

  34. the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai.

  35. Speak to Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,

  36. to Joshua, son of Josedach, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people.

  37. Ask them,

  38. Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory?

  39. How does it look to you now?

  40. Does it not seem to you like nothing?

  41. But now be strong, Zerubbabel, declares the Lord.

  42. Be strong, Joshua, son of Josedach, the high priest.

  43. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord, and work.

  44. For I am with you, declares the Lord Almighty.

  45. This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt,

  46. and my spirit remains among you.

  47. Do not fear.

  48. This is what the Lord Almighty says.

  49. In a little while, I will once more shake the heavens and the earth,

  50. the sea and the dry land.

  51. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come,

  52. and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty.

  53. The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty.

  54. The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,

  55. says the Lord Almighty.

  56. And in this place, I will grant peace, declares the Lord Almighty.

  57. This evening, we're thinking about the fact that in this prophecy,

  58. God's discouraged, disheartened people are being reminded that the best is yet to come.

  59. To help us to do that, we need to step back in time.

  60. So I want to take you in your mind's eye to a building site in 520 BC.

  61. Where is this building site?

  62. It's in Jerusalem.

  63. And what is it that's being built, or rather rebuilt?

  64. It's the temple where God would be worshipped.

  65. As we saw last week, that project had restarted in 536 BC.

  66. The foundation had been laid, but then opposition came.

  67. And so for 16 years, the building site has remained lifeless.

  68. Nothing has been happening.

  69. But now, the project has restarted again with full speed.

  70. So we're on this building site, and we're seeing a temple be constructed.

  71. But then, we also see some old men come by.

  72. It appear at how things are developing.

  73. And as they watch the building restoration take place,

  74. we see them weeping as they watch.

  75. Because they're old enough to remember, in childhood, the glory days of Solomon's temple.

  76. And they weep.

  77. And they say, it's not like it was in the old days.

  78. They ask themselves and others the question,

  79. where's the glory in this temple?

  80. And they are discouraged.

  81. And that mood of discouragement spreads around the building site.

  82. And because the temple site is in the middle of the city,

  83. the city is beginning to feel that wave of discouragement.

  84. Enter Haggai.

  85. He comes onto the building site.

  86. Was he wearing his hard hat?

  87. We don't know.

  88. But we definitely do know that he brings with him the Lord's message.

  89. And it's a message both of realism and hope.

  90. Yes, this temple, in a sense, is not and will not be as glorious as Solomon's.

  91. But future glory is coming.

  92. The best is yet to come.

  93. Now, as we come back to 2020, we live in that reality,

  94. as we thought about from Zechariah's language of the day of small things,

  95. where perhaps our circumstances and our church,

  96. we don't feel very glorious.

  97. We don't feel super significant.

  98. But we also stand in 2020 knowing that that promise through Haggai has been fulfilled.

  99. that the greater glory of the temple has come because Jesus has come.

  100. And there's greater glory because now Jesus is constructing a living temple in the church,

  101. in people like us who have faith in the Lord Jesus.

  102. And we too have the promise that for the church today, the best is yet to come.

  103. So we're going to think about that, the realism and the hope in Haggai chapter 2.

    Haggai 2 chapter mention

  104. So first of all, looking back, looking back at former glory,

  105. the first five verses is where we're going to be.

  106. Now, notice again, we're told when Haggai speaks.

  107. It's the second year of King Darius on the 21st day of the seventh month.

  108. Now, I am going to presume that we are at best rusty on our Persian calendar dating system.

  109. And we're also a bit hazy on how that would connect with a Jewish calendar.

  110. Because that's my position, I imagine.

  111. I'm not alone in that.

  112. This specific date, so the experts tell me,

  113. it comes during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles.

  114. Okay, so that date is important because it tells us that in the middle of a festival.

  115. What's the Feast of Tabernacles?

  116. Well, this was something that they did every year.

  117. Every year God said to them, live in tents for a week.

  118. And it was to remind them of their time when they were in the wilderness

  119. before reaching the promised land.

  120. It was a time of anticipation, anticipating glory to come.

  121. And it's interesting that even when they were in the promised land,

  122. they still had to go into their tents, into their booths,

  123. and anticipate there was greater glory still to come.

  124. And that's going to be significant for the message.

  125. Now, everyone is gathered.

  126. We see Zerubbabel's there, Judah's there, the remnant are there.

  127. Leaders and people are together for this festival.

  128. And what does Haggai do?

  129. Haggai, in verse 3, says,

  130. Now, parents, don't we teach our kids to do the exact opposite of this?

  131. It's like, you don't say that kind of thing.

  132. You don't point out the flaws in someone else.

  133. You've got to keep quiet about that.

  134. But here, Haggai deliberately draws attention to it.

  135. Why?

  136. You're thinking, if they're already feeling discouraged,

  137. surely when Haggai comes, this is going to discourage them further.

  138. But there's a point to what he's doing.

  139. He's pointed to reality.

  140. He's saying, this is a time of lesser glory for God's people.

  141. If we just for a minute compare Haggai's day with the glory days of Solomon.

  142. You know, that's often described as the golden age, the reigns of King David and King Solomon.

  143. That was a time when they enjoyed freedom.

  144. But now they're ruled by Persia.

  145. And that was a time when their territory was large and they were at peace.

  146. Now it's Jerusalem and a little bit around.

  147. And they're controlled by outside influences.

  148. Then they were regarded as great and glorious in that region.

  149. They had established dominance over surrounding nations.

  150. But now they are small and weak and fragile.

  151. So this is a time of lesser glory.

  152. And the temple that's being built is a reflection of that wider reality.

  153. But here's the thing.

  154. And here's where this isn't discouraging for the people.

  155. Yes, their glory may have changed.

  156. It may have diminished.

  157. But God and his glory has not.

  158. And God, we're told in verse 4, keeps his promises.

  159. I am with you.

  160. Verse 5.

  161. This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt.

  162. And my spirit remains among you.

  163. So he keeps his promises.

  164. He's given them his presence.

  165. He is with them.

  166. There is a reminder that the same Redeemer God who brought them out of Egypt

  167. is the same God who is for them today.

  168. And that's supposed to have an impact on how they feel and how they act on the building site.

  169. So knowing this, the people of God are to, verse 4, be strong.

  170. Three times.

  171. Zerubbabel, be strong.

  172. Joshua, be strong.

  173. All you people of land.

  174. Makes me think of Joshua.

  175. I remember when Joshua takes over from Moses.

  176. And it's his job to lead the people in conquest, into battle, to take possession of the promised land.

  177. And God frequently says to Joshua, be strong and courageous.

  178. And again, it's the same reason because God is with them.

  179. And God is working out his purposes.

  180. So they are to be strong.

  181. And, verse 4, they are to work.

  182. They are to keep on building this temple.

  183. Because this temple represents God being with them.

  184. It represents a place of worship.

  185. So that they might worship God.

  186. It is a place where sacrifices can be made so that forgiveness and reconciliation and restoration might happen.

  187. It's a place where the glory of God might be known.

  188. Where the reputation of God might spread through the nation and through the nations.

  189. So they are to be strong.

  190. And they are to work.

  191. And, verse 5, they are not to fear.

  192. Because they are to trust in the God who is with them.

  193. So they're to look back.

  194. They're looking back and seeing the former glory.

  195. But they are to take heart.

  196. To take heart because God remains with them.

  197. As Zechariah chapter 4 says,

    Zechariah 4 chapter mention

  198. Isn't this something that we need to hear in our own setting today?

  199. Probably everybody has a sense of,

  200. when was the glory day of the church?

  201. Some of us, if we like church history,

  202. we might think back to the 16th century, to the Reformation.

  203. Maybe, for older generations, we might think back to our childhood.

  204. People might look and think,

  205. well, the church before the wars,

  206. that was the sort of golden age in present.

  207. Maybe we just think,

  208. life before COVID,

  209. the church felt like a golden age.

  210. Because at least we could be together.

  211. Today,

  212. I imagine for many of us,

  213. we feel weak.

  214. As Christians, we feel disconnected.

  215. more isolated from our brothers and sisters.

  216. The church seems small.

  217. In our nation,

  218. it doesn't have the position of influence

  219. and respect that once it did.

  220. Because God's name, God's word, God's glory,

  221. God's gospel, the Lord Jesus,

  222. don't have the same position

  223. that they used to.

  224. And we could be discouraged by that,

  225. but God would have us take heart.

  226. Because,

  227. God is,

  228. with his people.

  229. Jesus promised,

  230. I am with you always.

  231. Jesus sent the Spirit,

  232. so we wouldn't be alone,

  233. so we wouldn't be like orphans.

  234. God still keeps his promises.

  235. God made a covenant promise,

  236. God has made a covenant with the church,

  237. in and through the body and blood

  238. of the Lord Jesus,

  239. given for us in sacrifice

  240. to remove our sins,

  241. to bring us to God.

  242. And God will keep his promise

  243. to be God for us.

  244. Take heart,

  245. because God will receive glory.

  246. Take heart,

  247. because God is building his kingdom.

  248. He is establishing a living temple.

  249. And as Jesus said,

  250. not even the gates of hell,

  251. not that the powers of the devil

  252. are powerless to resist

  253. that movement of God's grace.

  254. So,

  255. so this is a call to work

  256. in our day of small things,

  257. at the small things

  258. that we are called to do.

  259. We're called to serve faithfully,

  260. to live for God

  261. in our families,

  262. to live as servants of God

  263. in our workplaces,

  264. whatever that looks like nowadays,

  265. to serve faithfully in the church,

  266. to come together where possible

  267. as the church,

  268. whether that's on Sundays

  269. or whether it's to pray

  270. or in community group,

  271. to love and encourage

  272. and build one another up

  273. and bear one another's burdens,

  274. to serve faithfully in worshipping

  275. on Sundays and all through the week.

  276. And we do that,

  277. not depending on our own strength,

  278. but just as Haggai said,

  279. depending on the God who is with us,

  280. God's presence and God's power.

  281. And as we do that,

  282. remember what we read in Ephesians 2.

  283. Jesus,

  284. he is the true temple.

  285. He is the cornerstone

  286. that God has laid,

  287. that precious cornerstone

  288. on which the church is built.

  289. The living temple is both built on Jesus,

  290. on his words,

  291. on his truth,

  292. and built by Jesus

  293. as he draws men and women

  294. and boys and girls

  295. to faith in himself.

  296. And so we worship Jesus

  297. because he is our Emmanuel.

  298. He is God with us.

  299. He is the one who,

  300. in his body,

  301. the new covenant

  302. has been established

  303. and he sends the Spirit.

  304. So these words from the Lord

  305. we see fulfilled

  306. in the ministry of Jesus.

  307. So yes,

  308. the church today may not seem glorious,

  309. but never forget,

  310. Jesus,

  311. our King,

  312. is glorious,

  313. always will be glorious

  314. and he is pursuing his glory

  315. in us,

  316. through us,

  317. in the world.

  318. So keep building.

  319. Keep building by sharing the gospel,

  320. making much of Jesus,

  321. using Advent,

  322. for example.

  323. whether it's those videos,

  324. whether it's sharing devotional thoughts

  325. or reflections,

  326. whether it's just talking about

  327. the reason for Christmas,

  328. sharing the gospel both inside the church

  329. because we never want to move away

  330. from God and his grace.

  331. We never want to take for granted

  332. what Jesus has done for us

  333. in his life, death and resurrection,

  334. but also sharing the gospel

  335. outside the walls of the church

  336. or the community of God's people.

  337. And we keep building also

  338. in the sense that we want to support

  339. both local and global mission.

  340. One of the reasons that we,

  341. during lockdown and ongoing restrictions,

  342. have had missions speakers

  343. come to us month after month

  344. is so that we would be reminded

  345. that we have work to do

  346. in supporting global mission

  347. for the glory of God.

  348. So there is former glory

  349. and there's reality

  350. but also hope.

  351. But then Haggai encourages

  352. a looking forward

  353. to see greater glory.

  354. Now, in Morningside,

  355. we have a sister church,

  356. a church plant by the name

  357. of Cornerstone.

  358. And their building project

  359. is nearly done.

  360. And that's good news.

  361. Last week,

  362. I was watching their

  363. promotional video.

  364. And it was interesting

  365. to see how they did it.

  366. And in a sense,

  367. there's a pattern

  368. that we can probably detect

  369. that we see in Haggai.

  370. So one thing that the video did

  371. was sort of go to the old schoolhouse

  372. and say,

  373. here was this iconic building

  374. in its heyday,

  375. at the heart of the community.

  376. See, lots of old pictures

  377. and you'd see there it is

  378. as the school

  379. and sort of heart of the community.

  380. And then now,

  381. in its present state,

  382. you see it as a building site.

  383. And I guess,

  384. unless you know the plan

  385. and you know the trajectory,

  386. you might think,

  387. yikes,

  388. how can this be good?

  389. How can anything good

  390. come out of this

  391. or rubble and ruin

  392. and expose walls

  393. and all those kind of things?

  394. And in a sense,

  395. the video goes on

  396. to respond to that

  397. because it keeps bringing us

  398. back to artists' impressions

  399. of the finished article.

  400. So you're constantly

  401. looking forward

  402. with hope

  403. for what it will become.

  404. And we can pray

  405. for Cornerstone

  406. as they look to

  407. share the gospel

  408. with people

  409. in the Morningside community,

  410. but also as they look

  411. to be a church planting

  412. centre

  413. where we can remember

  414. them.

  415. But let's go back

  416. to Haggai

  417. on his building site.

  418. So he's looking back,

  419. yeah,

  420. it's not the same

  421. glorious Solomon's temple,

  422. but he's also looking forward.

  423. He's saying,

  424. there's something

  425. so glorious coming

  426. that it's going to make

  427. Solomon's temple

  428. look like a garden shed.

  429. Now,

  430. how is that?

  431. Haggai's very careful

  432. to say it's not going to be

  433. because of your

  434. architectural skill.

  435. It's not going to be

  436. the gold and silver

  437. that you bring.

  438. It's not because

  439. of your hard work.

  440. How is that?

  441. It's because God

  442. himself

  443. will act

  444. for his glory

  445. to give

  446. and to bring

  447. glory.

  448. Now,

  449. one word

  450. that helps us

  451. to think about this

  452. is the word shaking.

  453. Verse 6,

  454. this is what the Lord

  455. Almighty says,

  456. in a little while

  457. I will once more

  458. shake the heavens

  459. and the earth

  460. and the sea

  461. and the dry land.

  462. I will shake

  463. all nations

  464. and what's desirable

  465. and nations will come

  466. and I will fill

  467. this house with glory.

  468. Now,

  469. the prophets

  470. of the Old Testament,

  471. many of them

  472. spoke of the day

  473. of the Lord.

  474. a decisive day

  475. in history

  476. when God would

  477. intervene

  478. at the end

  479. of the age

  480. and that shaking

  481. is Haggai's

  482. way of talking

  483. about the day

  484. of the Lord

  485. and what he

  486. anticipates

  487. as God gives

  488. this message

  489. is of the world

  490. being turned

  491. right side up

  492. and that plays

  493. itself out

  494. because there is

  495. this picture of

  496. nations becoming

  497. worshippers

  498. and that is

  499. seen in them

  500. bringing their

  501. wealth

  502. to the temple

  503. but crucial

  504. to this shaking

  505. for our purposes

  506. is when God

  507. said in verse 7

  508. I will fill

  509. this house

  510. with glory.

  511. So the difference

  512. between Solomon's

  513. temple and Haggai's

  514. temple

  515. wasn't the

  516. size of the building,

  517. they were actually

  518. pretty similar

  519. archaeologists tell us

  520. and it wasn't

  521. so much the fact

  522. that Solomon's

  523. temple had

  524. loaded gold

  525. and silver

  526. and Haggai's

  527. didn't have so much

  528. the difference

  529. is that when

  530. Solomon dedicated

  531. his temple

  532. the glory cloud

  533. came down

  534. God's glory

  535. filled the temple

  536. so the priest

  537. had to get out

  538. because God

  539. was so glorious

  540. and he was present

  541. in his temple

  542. now that hadn't

  543. happened in Haggai's

  544. day

  545. but

  546. but then

  547. Haggai

  548. brings us

  549. wonderful news

  550. from God

  551. in verse 9

  552. the glory of this

  553. present house

  554. will be greater

  555. than the glory

  556. of the former house

  557. and in this place

  558. I will grant peace

  559. now how can that be

  560. and we need to

  561. recognise

  562. this didn't happen

  563. in Zerubbabel's day

  564. and it didn't happen

  565. in the rest of the

  566. Old Testament era

  567. we need to wait

  568. for

  569. fulfilment

  570. to the coming

  571. of Jesus

  572. that promise

  573. of greater glory

  574. is fulfilled

  575. in Jesus

  576. again John 1

  577. the word became

  578. flesh and dwelt

  579. among us

  580. and we have seen

  581. what

  582. we have seen

  583. his glory

  584. the glory

  585. of the one and only

  586. so here's this

  587. wonderful reality

  588. Jesus the eternal

  589. son of God

  590. the full

  591. radiance of God's

  592. glory

  593. comes to the earth

  594. and Jesus

  595. is the Lord

  596. who then

  597. in his

  598. lifetime

  599. comes to his

  600. temple

  601. and actually

  602. one of the things

  603. that we see

  604. in the gospels

  605. and we see

  606. in his ministry

  607. is Jesus

  608. is making clear

  609. that he takes

  610. over from the

  611. temple

  612. if you want

  613. to enjoy

  614. the presence

  615. of God

  616. don't go to

  617. the temple

  618. come to me

  619. if you want

  620. to worship

  621. it's not in

  622. the temple

  623. you worship

  624. in spirit and

  625. truth and you

  626. worship through

  627. Jesus

  628. if you're

  629. looking for

  630. a sacrifice

  631. that reconciles

  632. you to God

  633. and brings you

  634. forgiveness

  635. don't go to

  636. the temple

  637. with an animal

  638. come to Jesus

  639. and his death

  640. on the cross

  641. Jesus

  642. takes over

  643. from the temple

  644. and Jesus

  645. has more glory

  646. than Solomon's

  647. temple

  648. and then we

  649. think about

  650. Matthew

  651. and the way

  652. Matthew's gospel

  653. talks about

  654. the death

  655. of Jesus

  656. and significantly

  657. he uses the

  658. language of shaking

  659. Matthew 27

  660. 51

  661. you can look

  662. it up

  663. at the death

  664. of Jesus

  665. two things

  666. happened

  667. the curtain

  668. of the temple

  669. was torn

  670. in two

  671. and the earth

  672. shook

  673. and the rocks

  674. split

  675. the curtain

  676. of the temple

  677. was interesting

  678. because

  679. one of the reasons

  680. Jesus judges

  681. the temple

  682. and the leaders

  683. over the temple

  684. is because

  685. God's house

  686. was meant to be

  687. a house

  688. for all nations

  689. but

  690. it had become

  691. restricted

  692. and closed

  693. just to

  694. the Jewish

  695. people

  696. and so the

  697. temple

  698. curtain

  699. torn

  700. in two

  701. was saying

  702. access to

  703. God

  704. is now

  705. open

  706. and it's

  707. open to

  708. anyone

  709. who will

  710. believe

  711. in the

  712. Lord Jesus

  713. so this

  714. shaking

  715. back to

  716. this shaking

  717. concept

  718. this shaking

  719. began

  720. what Haggai

  721. was looking

  722. forward to

  723. it began

  724. when Jesus

  725. died

  726. his redeeming

  727. work

  728. is a

  729. shaking

  730. it's God

  731. intervening

  732. in a decisive

  733. way

  734. now the way

  735. is open

  736. to God

  737. now Jesus

  738. the true

  739. temple

  740. makes it

  741. possible

  742. for people

  743. from all

  744. nations

  745. to come

  746. to him

  747. and that

  748. shaking

  749. that began

  750. at the cross

  751. will continue

  752. until the

  753. return

  754. of Jesus

  755. and when

  756. Jesus

  757. returns

  758. this promise

  759. will be truly

  760. fulfilled

  761. when Haggai

  762. says

  763. the glory

  764. of this

  765. present

  766. house

  767. will be

  768. greater

  769. than the

  770. glory

  771. of the

  772. former

  773. house

  774. when Jesus

  775. returns

  776. his

  777. unimaginable

  778. glory

  779. will be

  780. revealed

  781. and all

  782. the people

  783. of God

  784. will get

  785. to enjoy

  786. his glory

  787. and to

  788. see

  789. his glory

  790. and to

  791. live

  792. in

  793. the new

  794. heaven

  795. and the

  796. new

  797. earth

  798. where we

  799. can enjoy

  800. his glory

  801. forever

  802. enjoy his

  803. presence

  804. forever

  805. verse 9

  806. we will

  807. enjoy

  808. unbroken

  809. peace

  810. forever

  811. true

  812. well

  813. being

  814. to go

  815. back to

  816. verse 7

  817. this shaking

  818. it brings

  819. in

  820. worshippers

  821. from

  822. the

  823. nations

  824. Jesus

  825. receives

  826. glory

  827. as the

  828. true

  829. temple

  830. but also

  831. as he

  832. builds

  833. this

  834. living

  835. temple

  836. to use

  837. Ephesians 2

  838. languages

  839. he builds

  840. the church

  841. Ephesians 2

  842. Jesus

  843. in his

  844. body

  845. on the

  846. cross

  847. he makes

  848. peace

  849. peace

  850. between

  851. us

  852. and

  853. God

  854. and

  855. makes

  856. peace

  857. between

  858. different

  859. nations

  860. so that

  861. we can

  862. be all

  863. one

  864. in

  865. Christ

  866. Jesus

  867. he

  868. builds

  869. us

  870. into

  871. a

  872. holy

  873. temple

  874. in

  875. the

  876. Lord

  877. where

  878. does

  879. God

  880. dwell

  881. now

  882. Ephesians 2

  883. says

  884. God

  885. dwells

  886. in

  887. his

  888. people

  889. in

  890. his

  891. church

  892. and so

  893. together

  894. we're

  895. enjoying

  896. greater

  897. glory

  898. we enjoy

  899. the presence

  900. of God

  901. with us

  902. and we

  903. look ahead

  904. to more

  905. still to

  906. come

  907. so Haggai

  908. does this

  909. wonderful thing

  910. in this

  911. beautiful

  912. building site

  913. sermon

  914. he takes

  915. them from

  916. small things

  917. to eternal

  918. glory

  919. he says

  920. yes your

  921. temple is

  922. less glorious

  923. but your

  924. God is not

  925. he says

  926. look forward

  927. because future

  928. glory is

  929. coming

  930. Jesus

  931. God's true

  932. temple is

  933. coming

  934. we know

  935. how that

  936. glory is

  937. seen

  938. and one

  939. day

  940. Jesus

  941. will

  942. rule

  943. over the

  944. new

  945. heaven

  946. and the

  947. new

  948. earth

  949. this

  950. whole

  951. new

  952. cosmos

  953. will

  954. be

  955. his

  956. temple

  957. where

  958. our

  959. king

  960. dwells

  961. and we

  962. will be

  963. with him

  964. so today

  965. in our

  966. small things

  967. we are called

  968. to work

  969. and we are

  970. called to

  971. worship

  972. and we're

  973. called to

  974. wait

  975. with expectation

  976. knowing that

  977. for us truly

  978. the best

  979. is also

  980. yet to come

  981. solution

  982. once

  983. to

  984. let's

  985. pack

  986. to

  987. mercy

  988. can

  989. see

  990. out

  991. next

  992. time
