Mother's Day is a special day and it's

impossible to try to say thank you.

Or express our gratitude.

That's a sweet little song that resonates.

Ah, man, a mother's love.

It's crazy stuff.

People don't really talk

about a father's love.

Do you notice that?

Nobody's like, ah, the old tender

hearted love with the father?

Nope.

No, you just don't hear a lot of it.

It's not legendary stuff and

it's not Father's Day, so we

can't even talk about dads.

In fact, all of you read your email,

guys who went on that men's retreat

and didn't wear your shirt from Men's

Retreat so that we could save it

till next Sunday for testosterone.

and a mother's love.

There we go, man.

That's what we're doing today.

Oh.

Well, a mother's love

is an incredible thing.

And you know, Andrew, you're

starting to steal my sermon.

That's why God confused You had you sit

down, because here's the thing, God's love

is on display through the love of a mom.

That's the design, right?

Lived out in perfection.

Of course not.

We're all fallible people, but man a

mother's love is something incredible.

And I want to talk about it

a little bit this morning.

And on Mother's Day, you have to

go over to Proverbs 31, right?

You have to go over and talk about

the perfect woman, the perfect mom.

That way they all just feel so

beat up before they leave church.

We're not doing that.

Just so you know, we're not

gonna go over to Proverbs 31.

Great passage.

You should read it.

Marinate on it.

I feel like I'm married

to a Proverbs 31 woman.

I'm just gonna say, notice there's no

Proverbs 31 guys in the world, right?

We don't even get our own

chapter like that, but that's a

section that we talk about a lot.

Instead of talking about perfect

motherhood or perfect moms.

I wanna talk a little bit

about perfect love today.

'cause I think we see

it in the love of a mom.

Not in its perfection in this

fallen world, but we see something

beautiful about God's love for us.

So I'm gonna take us to the

most well-known passage about

love in all of all of the Bible.

First Corinthians, chapter 13.

1 Corinthians 13 · chapter mention

You're probably very familiar with it.

We're gonna talk specifically about

verses four through eight, and you'll

probably recognize this from any wedding

you've ever been to any Valentine's

Day where the Bible was sitting open.

We always talk about love when

we look at this passage, kind

of because it's a pretty good

descriptor of what love looks like.

It says love is patient.

Love is kind.

Love does not envy.

It doesn't boast.

Love is not proud, right?

Love is not rude.

It's not self-seeking.

It's not easily angered.

It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,

but rejoices in the truth, right?

Love bears all things, believes

all things, hopes all things,

and endures all things.

Love never fails.

What a cool picture of this amazing

gift we experience through our Heavenly

Father called love, but we also

experienced this perfect love lived out

in imperfection through a a mother's love.

And I love what you said

this morning, Renee.

It's beautiful because the reality

is, is we live in this fallen world

with sin and the sinful nature, and

there's a lot of stuff going on, right?

And we have relationships that didn't

measure up to the perfect standard.

Some of us aspire to be

moms and physically it, it

doesn't ever materialize.

And there's some struggle there.

I mean, we've had lots of people walk

through fertility things in our church

and sometimes God grants children

and sometimes it, it doesn't play

out and people are left trying to

navigate that space of, of motherhood.

We have adoption and we have biological

kids and we have all kinds of stuff.

And what I loved hearing this morning

in the sharing time, like God has made

his family legitimate surrogate family.

Right?

If you don't have an uncle,

well, unfortunately look around.

You got some right?

If you don't have a mom in your life,

if you don't have a sister or a brother,

right, or a, a mom or a dad, or a son

or a daughter, there are people that

are part of the family of God, that

God designed us to do family together.

I'll go to my grave believing with all my

heart that the church is supposed to be

family, a family of God, united together,

standing together, walking together.

And today I want to take a look at

how God's design for the way a mom

loves, helps us just catch a little

bit of his incredible love for us.

But I want that little asterisk

caveat that no matter how awesome

your mom was or how horrible your

mom was, nobody nailed it perfectly.

None of us are perfect, right?

And maybe your mom's with you today,

and you can show honor to your mom.

My mom, she left the state, right?

She got as far away as she could

during, I don't know how that feels.

She's with her mom technically, and

she's probably watching this in line.

Happy Mother's Day mom.

Uh, but the truth is, is that some of us

can't speak to our moms anymore, and some

of us maybe aren't speaking to our moms.

There's a lot of stuff going on

in this fallen world of ours.

And I wanna encourage you that God

designed motherhood unique and special

from fatherhood, and it's a reflection of

some of the aspects of his love the man.

Only a mom can demonstrate.

Through mother's love.

It's pretty epic stuff.

So let's walk back through this scripture,

but I'm gonna kind of cheat and I'm

gonna overlay motherhood in this, okay?

So bear with me on this.

If a mom is called by God and designed

by God to love, and this is what love

looks like, then I'm gonna lay out

for you the ideal picture of what

we would experience as, as kids, I

guess from our moms, and also what

we would live out moms to our kids.

And we're all gonna recognize

together that this is not a

measuring stick we're gonna hit.

But that doesn't change God's design

or his standard or his call to strive

to be more and more like him, right?

Not only do we have a family here,

God is the head of our family.

We wanna strive to kind of live

out that family resemblance

that he's given us, right?

So here we go.

Love is patient.

No, I'm gonna swap that

out just a little bit.

Forgive me, moms.

Moms are patient.

Now most of you're like, Uhuh,

this is where the sermon just

took a dive and we're out.

Right?

Right.

Raise your hand if you tested this theory

and tried your mom's patience as a child.

Anyone get your hands up,

all you liars out there.

Everybody in here, did that come on?

Everybody.

Right?

Man.

And, and maybe mom's.

Maybe mom's are only patient if

we put them in the, in, you know

the comparison chart with dads?

How about that?

Was your mom more patient than your dad?

Raise your hand probably.

Right?

Okay.

Okay.

It's Mother's Day.

Turkeys.

Raise your hand if your

mom's sitting by you.

Come on, don't save that

other one for Father's Day.

What's wrong with it?

There's this cool picture

in scripture of this word.

Check this word out.

Long suffering.

It's a long word because

it means long suffering.

And moms are patient now.

Patient imperfection.

No.

Stop.

Stop going that direction,

but just listen.

Yeah.

Moms put up with so much, right?

How many of you guys are still

alive after the things you've done?

Right?

Your mother patiently.

Oh my gosh, how many long?

I, I love that little song.

It's so cute, right?

Like, I didn't sleep for two years.

Woo-hoo.

Right?

Changing diapers, putting on

bandaids endlessly, right?

A mother's love demonstrates a

patient long suffering love, and

it's a beautiful picture to us.

And of course, moms run out of patience.

Of course, we get on mom's

nerves and she loses it.

And of course, when you're in junior high,

you like to see if you can make it happen.

I understood that, right?

But the reality is, is that God

designed something in the heart

of the mom to patiently endure and

long suffering with her children.

To this day, some of us

still reach out to our moms.

Who know the nonsense of how we've lived

and yet still listen and patiently wait

for us to tell our story and to unpack

all of our stuff and give us guidance.

And counsel moms reflect

this piece of patience.

And I want you to understand this.

It's not just so we can enjoy that.

It's also so that we can know that

we have a heavenly Father who is

patient and long suffering with us.

How many times have you screwed up?

How many times have you not listened?

How many times have

you just done it wrong?

Over and over and over again?

And yet, scripture says to us loudly that

our God is a patient long suffering God.

He loves us.

He continues to love us even

when he probably shouldn't.

And sometimes we test his

patience, no doubt, but our God.

Endures in long suffering.

Patience us.

Why?

Pray for the same reason

your mom did love, right?

Definitely not.

'cause you deserved it.

Not 'cause you were awesome.

Just love.

Just love.

Don't miss that.

Our God is a God who defines

himself, characteristically as

love and then he gives it to moms

to try to show just a little bit.

Moms be encouraged.

Nobody nailed this perfectly.

And if you don't care about trying,

then maybe feel a little conviction.

Children just know this.

Oh wait, let's maybe do this.

'cause I feel like this probably is fair.

How many of you guys in here had a mom?

I feel like there's some hands that

probably should be up that aren't, uh,

you still trying to do the math on that?

I don't know.

Yeah, we all had moms right?

So there isn't anybody when I say kids,

who doesn't get to fit in that category.

And how many of you in here are moms?

Just so we know, just so we can like

you guys get double whammy stuff today.

I am sorry about that.

But yeah, we're all gonna

get some application here.

Moms are kind now admittedly, maybe

not all the time, but this is in

contrast to the idea of cruel, right?

Can we push mom to the

point where she's not kind?

Sure, sure.

And is every mom tenderhearted

and compassionate?

No, but but again, go back to that

picture of like a father's tender hearts.

People don't talk.

Why are we laughing out loud?

Come on guys.

We're not known as the

tenderhearted fathers.

Doesn't mean that we don't

get tenderhearted or that we

shouldn't be tenderhearted.

It's just something that people know.

Like a mother's tender loving care, right?

There's an element of kindness

that we experience from our.

Mom, like in my house, I think Jamie's

more of the disciplinarian than I am.

But my boys all go to her thinking

they're gonna get away with stuff, right?

Because she's mom and dad's a knucklehead.

I don't know how that works.

But the reality is just there's this mom

aura of kindness, of gentleness, of, as

scripture talks about gathering a hen,

gathering her little chicks under her

wing to protect and to take care of.

Like that's that image God uses

for himself with his people.

God is kind.

God is tender hearted.

He is compassionate.

He is not cruel.

I think one of the greatest tricks

that Satan's pulled on humanity is

to get us to think that God is cruel

and God is trying to ruin your life.

Ha ha, ha.

He doesn't want you to go out and mess

around sexually with people because he's

a jerk and doesn't want you to have fun.

Or maybe he doesn't want you to

get STDs and rip your heart apart.

Right?

And tear your soul.

But maybe that's mean too.

I don't know.

Right.

Like God's ways aren't evil, they're not

tyrannical, they're not mean or cruel.

God's ways are good.

And he's like, Hey, walk in life.

This leads to life.

Don't you want to experience life?

And we're like, oh, jerk.

Ruining my fun.

You're not kind, you're cruel.

Oh, the rules and the laws

and the regulations, right?

Instead, God's like go that way.

It leads to destruction.

We've believed the lie, the

enemy that God is not kind.

He is.

He's patient, he's kind.

Moms do not envy, I think.

Sure, a mom can be jealous of

another mom's ability to keep the

house clean and keep the kids alive.

I mean, I've heard that over

the years from people, right?

Like there's points of envy and

jealousy that are part of it.

But as a whole, this is what I

see more often than not in moms.

Moms are busy celebrating us.

And they tap into this crazy reservoir

of contentment about this is what

I gotta do for everybody else.

And moms are so busy serving and helping

and loving and caring that they tend to

maybe even neglect what they want often.

And so they don't find themselves

in a place where they're envious

as often because quite honestly,

they're busy trying to provide and

to care to celebrate everybody else.

And that's a beautiful picture.

It's a beautiful picture of the heart of

our moms in their best moments, right?

Maybe not always, but

in their best moments.

And a pretty cool picture of

our God who is not consumed with

his own joyous celebration, but

delights in us, delights in us.

Moms do not boast.

They're not proud more often than not.

Where moms struggle maybe is

being proud of their kids.

I'll give you that.

Maybe they boast about my

kids smarter than your kid.

I got a sticker on the back

of my car in your face, right?

Moms might do that, but moms tend

to demonstrate humility, taking

a backseat to everybody else,

and they sacrifice and they make

sure everybody else is lifted up.

God has that same picture with us, right?

That we humble ourselves

before him and he exalts us.

He is a God.

Scripture says, you know,

take my yoke upon you.

Learn from me.

I am humble of heart.

I don't think anybody believes that,

that the God of all creation is humble.

'cause we sure as heck wouldn't be

humble if we could do whatever we wanted.

We're in charge of everything.

Boom, right?

Like, ain't no way, but God is humble.

God's not proud and arrogant and boastful.

He's gentle and he's

kind, and he's loving.

Our moms didn't always perfect this.

No way.

No way.

But they helped us see just a

little glimpse of what love could

look like without the pride and

the arrogance, and instead helping

lift everybody else up around them

instead of promoting themselves.

Right?

Moms are not rude.

Moms tend to be thoughtful of

others around them and notice and

care about how our actions impact.

In fact, I don't know how it was

at your house, but moms teach

us manners oftentimes in spite

of what dad was teaching, right?

Like I saw that a lot of my

house and maybe currently at

the house I live in, right?

Don't do what your father does.

This is how you should do that, right?

Or I don't know how many

times I heard Martin, right?

Is that a thing?

Dad?

Is he, he probably left.

He doesn't wanna hear this anymore.

Alright, so manners.

Think back.

Maybe you learn how many of

you guys learned manners?

How many of you guys even have man ra?

If you have manners, maybe we start there.

Okay.

How many of you guys learned

manners from your father?

Who taught you how to do?

Okay?

How many of you guys from your mom?

Okay, that's great.

'cause I brought a bunch of moms in.

They're gonna test you right afterwards.

Next door.

We set up some table settings.

We're gonna see if you

got, no, I'm just kidding.

That'd be hilarious though.

Uh, most of us, if we even paid

attention and learned manners,

it was usually from mom, right?

Why?

Because moms aren't rude.

They're not crass.

They're not thinking about how

they can tear people down or

just be disrespectful in places.

They have this sense of trying to be

thoughtful of those around them and

conscious of their actions and their

approaches and their attitudes, and how

it affects people around them in a, in a

hopefully positive and encouraging way.

Maybe as a mom, that's not your thing.

Maybe you're a rude mom.

Ah, I would strive not to be,

but none of us get this perfect.

We try to strive towards being people

who are thoughtful of others rather

than just consumed with ourselves.

And speaking of self moms

are not self seeking.

They do not seek their own as

kind of a language translations.

They don't seek their own man.

Time and time and time and time again.

Moms give moms serve moms help.

They're not consumed with selfishness.

And you see it in a mom.

They don't even get to control

their own bodies, right?

Let's be honest, the kids hijack the body.

They hijacked all kinds

of parts for years.

Like there's just stuff going on.

Moms, you can't be selfish.

You're too busy keeping

other humans alive, right?

That's a thing.

And that's a beautiful aspect

though, of what our God looks

like to us that he serves.

He laid down his own life for us

in the same way that moms kind of

lay down their lives to help their

children and then later on strangled

them when they're teenagers.

But that's a different conversation.

Because moms are not easily angered.

Oh, Adam and I tested this theory.

Uh, I disagree with this scripture.

This is the one that

just, I'm just kidding.

I'm just, don't nod your heads.

Moms, this gets you in trouble.

The scripture really speaks to this idea.

They are not easily provoked to anger.

You can make mom angry.

Raise your hand if you've

ever made your mom angry.

Yeah, yeah.

Raise your hand if it was one of

your brothers or sisters, not you.

Oh, there we go.

There's the truth.

Uhhuh.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Moms are not easily angered.

You can rouse your

mother to fury and wrath.

It's been done.

Seen it firsthand, right?

Definitely observed it when Adam

was making bad choices, but I know.

I know.

Oh man.

The belt, the wait till

your father gets home.

That was the worst one.

Right?

Because we knew we could

get away with whatever.

With mom, her spankings

didn't hurt Too bad.

This doesn't mean moms never got

angry, but it means it's not easy to

provoke them to acting in anger because

they are long suffering and they're

patient and they put up with and

they endure, and they're not quick to

just lash out in fury and rage again.

Fallen world stuff.

Sometimes we struggle with this, right?

Maybe you had a mom who really

didn't do this well, and I'm sorry

that was your experience because

it's definitely not God's design.

And let me just be real

honest, real quick.

I know I'm saying mom's,

mom's, mom's, mom's, dad's.

This really doesn't say

mom's in the language, right?

It says, love is, and we're supposed

to operate in love as dads too.

So don't just turn and stare at your

spouse, your wife, and be like, ha,

you better keep it together, woman.

Right?

Because that's gonna end

up provoking her to anger.

And you're gonna see that this verse

sometimes, right, gets lived out.

But what a picture of our heavenly father.

Do you know that scripture says God

is not easily provoked to anger?

God does not desire to operate in wrath.

Now, listen, when there are actions

that are disobedient and destructive

and they result in consequences,

sometimes we interpret that as anger,

and now it's probably not anger,

it's probably just reality, right?

And sometimes in our wrath and

anger, we can exact judgment,

a little tainted, right?

With the emotion of anger.

It's one of the reasons

Scripture warns us as people to

not hang on to anger too much.

It's toxic.

Get rid of it, right?

Try not to in your, you

know, in your anger.

Do not sin.

Don't go to bed angry.

Get rid of all sin, anger, mal,

it's like we shouldn't handle anger.

It's just destructive for

us, because we can't execute

justice without our bias, right?

So no mom, when she's been pushed

to the limit, is gonna operate in

perfect justice, but that's why

we shouldn't mess with it, right?

That differs from God a little bit because

our eternal heavenly Father, who is the

one righteous judge, he sees everything.

He knows everything.

He understands the intent of the heart.

He is completely unbiased, and

so the execution of his wrath

and judgment and consequences are

just, and they're perfect, and

they're exactly what we earned.

The wages of sin death, right?

That's exactly what

scripture says we earned.

Choosing to walk in rebellion against

God equals God's wrath and destruction.

He's super clear on that, but

he's not easily pushed to anger.

Though you might have figured out how

to do this to your mom, and I love

this phrase, no record of wrongs.

Moms keep no record of wrongs.

Moms forgive.

Now, here's how I know this.

Here's how I know this.

Y'all are alive.

You're not a headline about

how mom lost it, right?

Because I was thinking back to this idea.

Okay.

Do moms hold on to resentments?

Sure they're human.

Do moms sometimes hold on to moments

and and kind of have some bitterness.

Sure, that can happen.

But as a general rule, moms forgive.

How many times did you not clean up your

room when you were told to how many?

Don't raise your hand.

This is not a good time to do that.

How many times?

I was just teasing.

How many times did you disobey your mom?

Do you remember?

Just do a quick count.

Nate Scott, don't even bother.

Right?

At the end of the day, like

the number is astronomical.

Astronomical.

We disobeyed our mom so many times

beyond count, and yet moms forgave.

Was it 70 times seven?

Or just the metaphor of that?

Maybe moms forgive.

And in that we get to see a little

bit about how God forgives us.

Is your mom still holding on to

the cookie that you stole from

the cookie jar when you were four?

Now, hopefully she brings it

up at like Christmas dinner.

That's fun, right?

That's entertainment

value, but probably not.

Still angry and furious

with you about it, right?

Because she forgave and she

forgot some of the stories.

Adam and I like to tell.

We're like, Hey mom, remember when?

And she's like, no, I don't remember.

That could be, she just blocked

it out from the emotional pain.

But also could be that she just

didn't hold on to the anger about

what we did or didn't do, right?

Because she forgave.

And she forgave and she forgave.

And our Heavenly Father says when you

come to him and you ask for forgiveness,

he takes our sin and he casts it.

As far as the east is from the west,

which that's not measurable, right?

It's endless.

It's gone.

He remembers our sin no longer.

What a cool picture of what

motherhood looks like in

forgiveness and moms do not delight.

In evil.

In fact, most moms are disappointed

when their kids choose to

do destructive, evil things.

They don't delight in evil.

But moms do rejoice in the truth.

They are happy, right?

They're happy when their kids

are walking in righteousness.

John says, there's no greater joy to know

that my children are walking in the way.

When you do good things, here's a

good way to measure that, right?

How many of you call up your mom

nowadays and you're like, Hey mom, lemme

tell you about some bad stuff I did.

Raise your hand real quick.

'cause we should probably

talk about that afterward.

Okay?

How many of you guys call mom to tell

her about something good you did?

How many of you need to

call your mom in general?

Fellas, let's go.

Right?

Come on.

But we don't go to mom and and try to,

Hey mom, guess what bad choice I made.

Check it out.

Cha-ching.

Now we do.

When we've screwed it up bad enough,

we're like, oh mommy, I'm 60,

but I really could use some help.

Right?

That's how it works.

We don't brag to our mom about

evil because moms delight and they

rejoice and they're happy when

we're walking in the right ways.

God delights in us when

we walk in righteousness.

Moms bear all things,

believe all things hope.

All things endure.

All things.

And I've, each translation says, moms

always protect, always trust, always hope.

Always persevere.

Did you see Mama Bear up there?

Mom's Bear.

I thought that was a

pretty funny one, right?

Like Moms protect, don't

mess with Mama Bears.

They have claws and they are, you

wanna provoke a mom to anger, mess

with her if she's not your mom, right?

And mess with her kid

if she's not your mom.

That's problematic.

Moms Protect.

I love that phrase, moms Protect.

Dads prepare.

We got some different roles and

some different general ways that

we engage with our kids, but Moms

Protect, they take care of they guard.

And they're very concerned about that.

And they lay down boundaries and they

talk to you about boundaries, and they

get on you about how you're maintaining

boundaries because they love you and

they care about you, and they're trying

to protect what's sacred and important.

God protects us.

He loves us, man.

He surrounds us and he calls us to

maintain and to guard and to protect our

heart because he cares about our future.

And we see that in a mom.

Moms trust, they believe in us when

they absolutely shouldn't, right?

And they hold onto hope.

They hold onto hope, that no

matter how it looks right now,

there's a better destination.

There's good things on the

horizon, there's a way forward.

And man, it's pretty cool that

this book ends with long suffering,

patience, and the idea of endurance

and perseverance because moms.

Man, they're wrapped in

endurance and perseverance.

A mother's love tolerates and puts up

with and endures and long suffers and

maintains because moms never fail.

And I don't mean they never fail,

like they never make mistakes.

But moms never quit on us.

And they never give up.

They don't.

They should.

Oh my gosh, they should, but they don't.

And what a picture of our heavenly

father who loves us, to the very gates

of hell and back, and he doesn't quit

on us, and he doesn't give up on us,

and he endures and he holds out hope and

opportunity all the way until the end.

And yeah, we gotta make some choices.

And we see it in motherhood, don't we?

In in physical form.

Moms clinging to hope, enduring, but their

children making choices that lead to their

destruction, and it breaks a mom's heart.

Just like it breaks the heart of our

Heavenly Father, but that's not the goal.

The goal is that this kinda love,

this kinda love leaves us with

no choice but to respond to a

mother's love with love ourselves.

How do you not love somebody

who loves you like this?

How do you not respond with love

when you're loved like this?

How do you not respond to a heavenly

father who loves you like this?

How do you keep pushing them away?

How do you keep ignoring him?

How do you keep just doing your

own thing and spitting in his

face over and over and over again?

What great love the father has lavished

on us that we should be called children

of God and that is what we are.

John tells us that because

Jesus tells us that.

And he loves us so much.

Moms weren't perfect.

Our heavenly father is.

And Moms, thank you for helping us

see just a little bit of God's heart.

And I know you didn't get it all perfect.

And I do not want you to leave

today feeling discouraged about

how you didn't measure up.

But I want you to know this.

Us dads were busy picking our nose

and building stuff in the garage.

We missed most of this, right?

So you, you did some important stuff

and you're not done being a mom.

You continue to love others and

you continue to bring other people

into this space with your mom's

heart, where you can show a mother's

love to the people around you.

And guys, ladies, kids, I think

that's everybody in the room.

You might look back on Mothers

Today and think to yourself

how disappointed you are.

Wish you had something different.

But I really hope that you can

get in tune a little tiny bit.

With what God did in this design and

what your mom tried to do, and in

her best moments, she hit some of

these marks but never imperfection.

And sure, in her worst moments,

it might have been pretty rough.

But I hope that you can at least

acknowledge the effort that maybe your

mom tried to do to love you and find

a way to express some honor to her, if

nothing else, than just giving you breath.

But there's a place to show some honor

and some gratitude for who our moms are.

Well, we're gonna close

this morning like this.

Would you please stand if you're a mom?

I'm watching you guys.

Yep.

If you're a mom, if you just please stand.

Well, moms.

You've heard it said pretty

nicely in the sharing time even.

Thank you for your impact in the ladies

in this room, the men in this room, the

teens in this room, the kids next door.

You guys are really, really important

and what you demonstrate, we know you're

carrying a ton, but thank you for what

you have done and thank you for what

you're gonna continue to strive to do.

'cause man, it matters so much and we

are all blessed just by your presence

and your effort in trying to love well.

So we want to close by praying a prayer

of blessing over you, and then we'll

let you get to your Mother's Day lunch

that should be prepared for you and the

dishes that should be washed for you

and the afternoon nap that should be

scheduled only for you while your husband

does a lot of work around the house.

So let's close.

Father, thank you for this

incredible group of ladies.

Thank you for the moms in our life.

Thank you for the work.

The energy, the heart.

Thank you for the sacrifice.

Lord.

We go through this whole huge

list of patience and forgiveness

and everything that they do.

God, I pray that you would bless

them, that you would encourage their

hearts, that you would increase the

reservoir of love, that they can

even hold that it would be bursting

at the seams, that you would give

them joy in the midst of being a mom.

Whatever stage of motherhood

they're in, God, that they would

find rich, joy, peace, and hope,

maybe even a little fun mixed in.

God, I pray that this would be a

beautiful Mother's day for their heart,

and going forward into this year as

a mom, God, would you walk with them?

Would you guide them and direct them?

Give them strength, give them favor.

Just bless their socks off.

I pray in a. Really special way.

Thank you that they're a part of my

life and I get to be on a journey

with this awesome group of ladies.

God, I pray that you would pour out

your incredible love and blessing

on them and help all of us, help all

of us Lord to be reminded of your

incredible love and to respond like

we would in gratitude to our own moms.

Help us respond with gratitude to

you for all that you have done.

Please give us an awesome afternoon and

evening ahead, some of us relaxing and

the rest of us working hard to remind Mom

how important she is in Jesus' name, amen.
