  1. Well, good morning, white Rock.

  2. Wow.

  3. Wow, wow, wow.

  4. I can't help but be in

  5. touch, overwhelmed with.

  6. How wonderful this day is going.

  7. 'cause to be honest, when we

  8. were told that we were gonna do

  9. a youth led Sunday, that presents

  10. some stresses and complications

  11. and struggles to fight through.

  12. Especially when your youth pastor, I don't

  13. know who he is, but whoever he is, doesn't

  14. tell your youth group until a week out.

  15. Thank you.

  16. And then to watch the efforts,

  17. the things in the background, the

  18. excitement, the energy when presented

  19. at a ba bam, that, Hey, by the

  20. way, you guys are gonna lead it.

  21. And I mean lead all of it.

  22. Every last bit of this things

  23. you guys are gonna dive into.

  24. And there was no grumbling.

  25. 'cause we usually play games and we might

  26. goof off a little bit at our bands, right?

  27. It's youth group.

  28. We're gonna have some fun.

  29. We went to work.

  30. Every last person focused in dialed in.

  31. We got a task and we're gonna

  32. dive into it 'cause it matters.

  33. So what's gonna happen?

  34. We have.

  35. Nine speakers that have come up here

  36. and share what's been on, laid on their

  37. heart from our, our God, so that holy

  38. spirit's certainly being working in them.

  39. So the first person I'd love to invite up

  40. to the stage with a little bit of applause

  41. to support her is Lily Williamson.

  42. Come on up.

  43. And so Lily's gonna start us off

  44. with, uh, a monologue that she

  45. literally put together in two days.

  46. I'm really impressed

  47. and excited to see it.

  48. So, Lily, here you are.

  49. Okay.

  50. I'm just a girl from a

  51. small town of Nazareth.

  52. People pass through trying to

  53. tell us the word of the Lord.

  54. I don't really pay attention because,

  55. well, I just do my work and live my life.

  56. Well, recently I've been following this

  57. man, but he's different than the others.

  58. There's something

  59. wonderful yet mysterious about him.

  60. I was at my friend's wedding

  61. and we had just run out of wine.

  62. There's this room full of buckets of

  63. water for people to wash their hands in.

  64. So just imagine people leaning over to

  65. wash their hands to get ready for dinner.

  66. Well, there he was sitting

  67. and talking to someone.

  68. Just remember it's clear, pure water.

  69. Instantly it was wine, pure wine.

  70. He was out talking to a group of people

  71. and when they left, um, his disciples

  72. went on a boat and that's when I saw it.

  73. The most amazing thing ever.

  74. He was walking on water, not swimming.

  75. He was walking.

  76. Every step was on water.

  77. Just yesterday I went out to go

  78. mourn from my friend's death.

  79. And so here we all are mourning

  80. and I hear a voice behind me,

  81. Lazareth come out and I thought,

  82. that's the man I've been following.

  83. He's crazy.

  84. We're all here mourning, and he's

  85. just blurting out random things.

  86. But then.

  87. Lazareth came out, he was dead.

  88. And now he's alive.

  89. Alive.

  90. This man has done miracles.

  91. Who is he?

  92. You ask.

  93. He's Jesus a son of God and

  94. he changed my life forever.

  95. And he can change yours.

  96. Wow.

  97. And I don't know if I said it with

  98. only being prompted like two days ago,

  99. she felt inspired and called to do

  100. something that even she didn't know.

  101. And then she puts that together working

  102. with her mother and I'm sure maybe

  103. some other contributing folks there.

  104. Incredible.

  105. Thank you, Lily.

  106. But now.

  107. If I could, with another

  108. round of applause, invite

  109. James Hunt up to the stage.

  110. Can't help but be curious is how

  111. Jesus has changed your life, man.

  112. So I'll leave you to it.

  113. Hello.

  114. So I have been called, I, I

  115. believe this is directly from God.

  116. I've felt called to speak about

  117. fear and I've seen a lot of it

  118. in the world and I've personally

  119. experienced a lot of fear in my life.

  120. Um, so I have this verse,

  121. it is Psalms 34, 4.

  122. I sought the Lord and he answered me.

  123. He delivered me from all my fears.

  124. And so fear is something

  125. that we all experience.

  126. Um, and it often, I mean, every day

  127. we experience fear in some way or

  128. another, and it often holds a spec

  129. from doing what we know is right and.

  130. I mean, that speaks for itself.

  131. But, um, when we seek the Lord, he

  132. answers and delivers us from all

  133. of our fears, all of our fears.

  134. And all we have to do is trust in God.

  135. Just trust that he has it under control.

  136. We are not in control, but God has

  137. already overcome all the fears we face.

  138. And like I said, all we have

  139. to do is just trust in him and

  140. let him guide us through life.

  141. Thank you.

  142. Some serious, uh, profound stuff.

  143. I think it's neat.

  144. I, uh, tried to be clever when

  145. I organized who's going first,

  146. second, third, and all that.

  147. I tried my best to line things up,

  148. but I didn't put him first thinking

  149. this amazing dynamic of, he's

  150. literally speaking about fears.

  151. And you could imagine a couple youth

  152. coming up here to speak in front of this

  153. entire congregation could be intimidating.

  154. And they get to have that as their

  155. kind of, Hey, trust in God, guys.

  156. So James was talking to you

  157. guys, I do believe, and we'll

  158. continue that conversation.

  159. So if I could have Jed join

  160. me up here on the platform,

  161. and once again, I'm curious,

  162. how's Jesus moved in your life?

  163. Yo, what's up guys?

  164. Um, okay.

  165. I'm Jed.

  166. Yeah.

  167. Uh, I feel like I'm really

  168. called to talk about.

  169. Idolatry today and just kind of

  170. talk about myself a little bit.

  171. Um, idolatry.

  172. Well, my only verse I'm using

  173. today is Exodus 20, I believe three

  174. without, outside of no Gods before me.

  175. One of the 10 commandments, you know?

  176. Um, sorry.

  177. Um, and kinda what I've been

  178. thinking about lately is this idea

  179. of seeing idols in your life that

  180. you didn't really know you had, like

  181. hidden idols, I guess in a sense.

  182. And I would say

  183. for the past two years, probably at least,

  184. I, I've felt I've had very cool moments

  185. with God and I've had very disconnected

  186. moments with God in my lowest of lows.

  187. You know, and I think we all experience

  188. stuff like that that's completely normal.

  189. Um, but

  190. over the past week and a

  191. half, I've really seen.

  192. What I believe is kind of the core source

  193. for me, at least, of it being idols in my

  194. life that I didn't realize I had for me.

  195. Um, kind of embarrassing.

  196. But for me, that's been my

  197. relationships with girls.

  198. Uh, um, uh, I would say,

  199. sorry, sorry, sorry.

  200. Um,

  201. shut up, Finn.

  202. Um,

  203. I've let, um,

  204. I've let my, I mean, it's a normal

  205. teenage guy thing to like girls.

  206. That's, that's normal.

  207. Y'all, y'all know that.

  208. Yeah.

  209. Um.

  210. Uh, but I have let that get into my

  211. life to a point where it completely

  212. consumes me and it consumes my wake

  213. in time, my time that I devoted to

  214. read my Bible, to spend with Jesus.

  215. It takes over all of that.

  216. It really separates me from

  217. my relationship with God.

  218. Um,

  219. let me whip out this note real quick

  220. 'cause I forgot where I was going.

  221. Hold on.

  222. Oh yeah.

  223. Okay.

  224. Uh, love you guys too.

  225. Uh, yeah, so that's kind of my deal is

  226. over the past like week and a half, I've

  227. really like, come to that conclusion.

  228. Really looked deep into my life

  229. for that stuff, and I'm really

  230. trying to take steps towards that.

  231. And I would not, if you would've

  232. asked me two weeks ago, do you

  233. have any idols in your life?

  234. 100%. I would've just been

  235. like, no, God, God's king.

  236. Right?

  237. But that's not true.

  238. I wouldn't have felt like I was lying

  239. in the moment, but I would've been.

  240. 'cause I've let that get to

  241. a point in my life where it

  242. overpowers my will to follow God.

  243. Um,

  244. but that's not, that's

  245. not all there is, right?

  246. For me, that's been the core source.

  247. That's definitely not, you got

  248. pretty much anything can be an idol.

  249. Money, cars, I don't even know.

  250. Alcohol, substance abuse, like all that.

  251. It can completely control your

  252. waking time, your moments.

  253. And I would say this has been a

  254. struggle with me for two years at least.

  255. Um, and I really wish I would've come

  256. to this conclusion two years ago,

  257. 'cause it would've been way easier to

  258. kind of change the course of my life.

  259. Um, but I'm just grateful

  260. that I got to see it now.

  261. But my deal is, uh, if you have something

  262. in your life that you don't think is

  263. really a problem, I would just please ask

  264. you to take a deeper look at that because

  265. it could be, I did not think this was

  266. a problem until a week and a half ago.

  267. And then I'm realizing like this

  268. controlled every waking moment of my life

  269. and it is way easier to stop now compared

  270. to a couple more years down the road.

  271. It's way harder then, and I'm just

  272. glad I found out about it now.

  273. But, uh, yeah, that's kinda all I got.

  274. Well, I certainly appreciate Jed being

  275. honest with some personal things in

  276. his life, some personal things that.

  277. He knows, steered him a certain direction.

  278. When he noticed he took action,

  279. he turned the opposite direction.

  280. So I kind of wanted to celebrate A fact

  281. that he didn't put out there is he's, he's

  282. not just saying this, he's taking action.

  283. There's things he's doing in his

  284. life that are challenging now.

  285. For example, maybe the phone allowed him

  286. communication opportunities and sorry if

  287. I'm getting too personal here, but he's

  288. got, he's doing a phone fast because he

  289. recognized that's a source where when

  290. he should be reading this phone, he's

  291. like, I keep talking to these girls.

  292. The texts, he coming in, the

  293. communication is about nonsense.

  294. Keeps distracting.

  295. And this kid said, I'm

  296. gonna leave that alone.

  297. Well done.

  298. Well done.

  299. Well, I'm now gonna invite

  300. Wake Burkhart up to the stage

  301. and we're all curious, how's

  302. Jesus changed your life?

  303. Click.

  304. So this is pretty much like my whole

  305. journey with God, my like four year span

  306. about of falling away and then coming back

  307. and pursuing relationships

  308. that went worth it.

  309. So I had like a year

  310. span of a lot of girls.

  311. I was, there was a lot of like

  312. bad things that happened just like

  313. saying inappropriate stuff over

  314. the phone and it was just not good.

  315. And then it got out to people

  316. and then rumors started

  317. spreading that were way worse.

  318. And then it really happened.

  319. And then I gotta the point where I

  320. didn't care much about church and youth

  321. group anymore and just didn't really

  322. want to go and then felt far from God.

  323. So like I wasn't reading my Bible,

  324. wasn't praising, wasn't praying,

  325. just all the worldly things.

  326. Didn't believe anymore, started

  327. filling my Gods size hole with like

  328. women, bad music, stuff like that.

  329. And Luke 1521, the son said

  330. to him, father, I have sinned

  331. against heaven and against you.

  332. I'm no longer worthy

  333. to be called your son.

  334. And that's kind of how I felt where I

  335. just felt like I wasn't worthy for him.

  336. And I was all caught up in bad

  337. stuff and couldn't get away from it.

  338. And then here's the turning point.

  339. So like the whole 180 back to Christ.

  340. So it all started where my mom signed

  341. me up for, uh, never too young.

  342. And we went there and like worshiped and

  343. they did like sermons and everything.

  344. And the Holy Spirit really moved that day

  345. and I was, I was tearing up and actually

  346. singing, which I had never done that.

  347. And that was the first

  348. time I actually spoke.

  349. Spiritually full.

  350. I like called my mom

  351. telling her all about it.

  352. And, and after that, like I started

  353. singing at church and worshiping.

  354. 'cause I was always like too nervous

  355. to do it in front of people 'cause I

  356. didn't want to like think I was weird.

  357. And then after that got baptized

  358. about later on that year, a few months

  359. later, and Luke 1524 for the son of

  360. mine was dead and is alive again.

  361. He was lost in his fad.

  362. They began to celebrate

  363. and then purpose filled a block.

  364. And then like the next two years was

  365. just me like growing and getting closer

  366. to God, like getting outta my comfort

  367. zone and learning more about him.

  368. I stopped caring about what people

  369. think now, like I'll actually

  370. raise my hands and sing and dance

  371. and do all the weird people stuff.

  372. Um, and then we got music choices, which,

  373. like when I went to public school, like

  374. all we'd listen to is like, Lil Baby, Lil

  375. Techo, all this, all this stuff that's

  376. not like you should be listening to Now.

  377. I listen to like, try to listen

  378. to like Forest Frank and Christian

  379. artists 'cause you should fill

  380. yourself with like-minded people.

  381. And Summer retreat out one,

  382. that was, that was fun.

  383. We got, we had a lot of good

  384. sermons and gotta hang out with

  385. everyone, which was a lot of fun.

  386. And then we had this one sermon

  387. the night before and there

  388. was a lot of crying for sure.

  389. Especially from me and I don't cry.

  390. So it was, it was, it was new.

  391. And then after that it was

  392. trying to get in the word daily.

  393. Just get word from God and learn

  394. more and then started inviting others

  395. to youth group to, I don't know.

  396. 'cause why wouldn't you invite others

  397. if that's the best thing you have?

  398. And then this verse, the Lord

  399. is good to those who hope is in

  400. him, to the ones who seeks him.

  401. I feel like, like that was probably

  402. the best thing I've ever done, is

  403. just like, put my hope in him and

  404. seek him and try, yeah, seek him.

  405. And I certainly agree to that.

  406. Well, something I wanted to kind of

  407. point out to everybody first, in the

  408. beginning of that story last night, the

  409. Burkharts came over to the house till

  410. the wee hours of the morning to do work.

  411. They came there to get some work done.

  412. Whole family.

  413. It was fun.

  414. And throughout this week, as I've

  415. talked with Wake, he's had so many

  416. subjects and things on his mind and his

  417. heart of what to share and trying to

  418. figure out the dynamics, have a notes

  419. on this and this and this and this.

  420. And we sit there, we see his

  421. notes, all right, we have

  422. this plan and we move forward.

  423. And then it's just not it.

  424. It's not what he's talking about.

  425. And then more scripture comes

  426. up, there's more reading, more

  427. investment, more time, right?

  428. And three or four different sermons

  429. later, this is where he fell on, we

  430. got personal about what's going on in

  431. his own life and in those interactions.

  432. I was sitting there and he talked about

  433. this moment where he called his mom.

  434. That was a pivotal 0.1.

  435. I couldn't have been just more

  436. excited 'cause Cory sitting right

  437. there showed her excitement.

  438. And when he called me, I freaked out

  439. and I ran over, what was it, Jackie?

  440. He's like Jackie, right?

  441. She got all excited at the house and

  442. was freaking out and she was celebrating

  443. 'cause her boy just called her.

  444. And the Holy Spirit have gotten

  445. ahold of him for the first time.

  446. How cool that was.

  447. That's amazing.

  448. And then when he talks through

  449. his walk, I couldn't help.

  450. But, uh, wanna point out he's not bragging

  451. at the end of that Wake's trying to walk

  452. the walk and none of us are perfect.

  453. None of these teens, no.

  454. Up here is perfect.

  455. But he's really trying.

  456. And the amount of folks he has brought

  457. into our youth group kind of getting wild.

  458. He's, I mean, he's not kidding.

  459. He invites people.

  460. He goes out on a limb.

  461. He isn't afraid of the

  462. weird people we are anymore.

  463. And he's stepping into

  464. it and I'm proud of him.

  465. Well done, man.

  466. Well, we have another young man

  467. gonna step up on the stage by

  468. the name of Jonathan gr Jonathan.

  469. And I was gonna very quickly, uh,

  470. preface this with, at our lockout,

  471. we did a camping event with the

  472. youth, maybe a week or so ago,

  473. or two weeks, we all stayed out.

  474. And for the week leading up to that,

  475. I was like, what am I gonna speak on?

  476. I read scripture, prayed

  477. and could not find it.

  478. Literally the day of, I asked Josiah that

  479. morning when I was setting everything up

  480. and I'm like, Josiah, you got anything?

  481. He's like, not now, but I'm sure

  482. something's gonna come to us.

  483. And I was like, I have

  484. confidence in our Lord.

  485. Something will come up

  486. literally in the event.

  487. We're like two hours into it.

  488. And who walks up to me, Jonathan, Hey,

  489. I have something that I'd like to say.

  490. I brought a projector, my computer

  491. and a couple of slides and I'd

  492. like to speak to the youth group.

  493. And this is what he talked to him about.

  494. So as he said, um, we went a week

  495. ago on Friday, we had a lock out.

  496. Um, and I felt as though God

  497. wanted me to talk about this.

  498. Because in Proverb six six it says, go to

  499. the aunt New Sluggard, consider its ways

  500. and we wise, which talks about how we

  501. need to go out and work and be eventful.

  502. And sometime, most of the time, uh, our

  503. main excuse as to why we don't work is

  504. I just have so much, I don't know what

  505. I am, should do first 'cause and then

  506. we will always end up putting something

  507. off because we just don't have time.

  508. So I have a few special guests.

  509. Uh, so never put off until tomorrow.

  510. What can be done today?

  511. I know a few of us grew

  512. up with, uh, Ninjago.

  513. Um.

  514. It says, don't put it, don't put

  515. off what you can do tomorrow.

  516. We don't have enough time in the

  517. day to put everything off or to put,

  518. we need to do some.

  519. We need to do things today and

  520. we need to work as much as we

  521. can, but we can't do everything.

  522. So we need to figure out

  523. what we want to put off.

  524. 'cause time is a gift.

  525. We only have so much.

  526. Um, so we need to use the time that God

  527. gives us wisely if we just go out and try

  528. and work as much as we can, as we can.

  529. But we don't have a plan.

  530. We're not gonna get very much

  531. done, and we're probably going to.

  532. Pull out our phone and doom scroll

  533. and, oh look there, there goes half

  534. our time because we were overwhelmed

  535. and we just needed a break.

  536. And then we spent more time not

  537. working than we did working.

  538. So we need to plan out what we are gonna

  539. put off, whether it be our video games

  540. and scrolling and whatever, um, and figure

  541. out what we do want to do in our time

  542. because we can't do all the good things.

  543. I talked to Sarah and after I did it on

  544. Friday after I said the same thing and

  545. she has things that she can't do in a day.

  546. Well, that's why we plan.

  547. Um, one person who worked

  548. really, really hard for God.

  549. Was Charlie Kirk.

  550. He, um, made a very big impact

  551. as I'm sure a lot of us know.

  552. And in my original slide plan, I

  553. didn't have him and this amazing

  554. picture, uh, that I had planned.

  555. But he really helps shows going

  556. to the ant and working hard.

  557. He's a great example of what we

  558. are supposed to do and how we

  559. are supposed to spend our time.

  560. And the enemy was scared of him.

  561. They, they tried to take him out

  562. and all that ended up happening was

  563. multiplying what he was doing and

  564. getting more people to do it because.

  565. If the enemy doesn't want us to

  566. share our word in an impactful matter

  567. if he'd be good with us just staying

  568. to the side and being the silly group.

  569. But if we are actually being

  570. impactful, that's scary to the enemy.

  571. And it can be scary to us, but it's so

  572. terrifying to the enemy of us stepping

  573. out of, yeah, I go to church, uh, and

  574. I'll just do whatever with my time.

  575. I'll have more.

  576. But if we actually use our time as wisely

  577. as we can and we go out and we work

  578. hard, the enemy doesn't know what to do.

  579. Um, 'cause if he tries to take

  580. us out, then that just shows.

  581. How meaningful it is, and then

  582. that multiplies and if he tries

  583. to not do anything, then we're

  584. going out and we're sharing God's

  585. word and then it's multiplying.

  586. We're fighting a winning battle.

  587. He's fighting the losing battle.

  588. The only tactic that he has is fear

  589. and using other things to get us

  590. to spend our time doing whatever

  591. that said.

  592. Well said, well said, man, I got nothing

  593. else for that and that's beautiful.

  594. I appreciate that, Jonathan.

  595. Thank you for sharing.

  596. I also appreciate the next speaker

  597. coming up here and that would be Gabriel.

  598. Come on up, Gabriel.

  599. And everyone's curious how Jesus has,

  600. uh, maybe influenced you this week.

  601. So here you are.

  602. Okay.

  603. Curious.

  604. Oh, go ahead.

  605. You're good.

  606. If you wanna set up

  607. that button that's a

  608. little bit roughed up.

  609. This one underneath the edge of the side.

  610. Okay.

  611. When COVID to 19 was in full effect,

  612. we were probably a more concerned

  613. about the virus itself rather than

  614. all of the impacts of the isolation.

  615. But during those many months there, 25%

  616. more people felt anxiety and depression.

  617. 15% more people felt severe loneliness.

  618. 8% increase in suicides Among people aged

  619. 15 to 24, there was a 30% increase in.

  620. Suicide attempts aged 10 to 19.

  621. And these fear, loneliness, and

  622. anxiety and depression aren't

  623. just uncomfortable feelings.

  624. They have their own negative impacts

  625. on other parts of your being, on your

  626. body and on your spiritual welfare.

  627. 25% said their social skills decline.

  628. Now, that's not as important as the

  629. other ones, but it shows that this

  630. impacts us on every part of our being,

  631. our, our mind, our body, and our spirit.

  632. So the verse that, uh, first led me to

  633. this topic was Proverbs 18, one, whoever

  634. isolates himself seeks his own desires,

  635. he breaks out against all sound judgment.

  636. You know that, that's a

  637. very strong state statement.

  638. All sound judgment.

  639. It is one of the most foolish things

  640. you can do to isolate yourself

  641. and make yourself vulnerable.

  642. And though you might not be deliberately

  643. trying to depart from God's way

  644. and go into a way that's sinful and

  645. evil, when you isolate yourself,

  646. that is what you are going to do.

  647. So we can talk about what is fellowship.

  648. The, uh, word in Greek is

  649. Nia, and the root word is ko.

  650. And this means shared or common.

  651. It does line up a little bit.

  652. So the co there and the co ko of the,

  653. the coen common have the same origin.

  654. So it's that idea of cooperation,

  655. um, and sharing here.

  656. So then we can look at fellowship.

  657. We have fellow and ship, and now

  658. fellow we know is like a, a partner.

  659. A partner, a comrade.

  660. Uh, but it originally meant one

  661. who puts down money and we can

  662. see the cognates with fee and low.

  663. So, um, first of all, I'd like to say

  664. this shows us that you guys need to tithe

  665. more, give more money to the church.

  666. But, um, what I want to get from

  667. this is, um, the idea of commitment.

  668. That we are putting down our

  669. resources, our time, our energy,

  670. our um, our, our money and, and

  671. we're, uh, contributing to a goal.

  672. So there's also this oneness

  673. 'cause we are united in this.

  674. Um, so this was originally one

  675. who puts down money for a journey.

  676. So we are putting down our resources and

  677. we have a direct, uh, direction in mind.

  678. And we can also see this in

  679. Acts 2 44, the relation there,

  680. they had all things in common.

  681. Um, yeah.

  682. So that, I think that's a very, uh,

  683. cool to see that there and ship.

  684. Then we have, uh, you know, we

  685. know that's, uh, a vessel that goes

  686. out on the water and it's this one

  687. structure that has people in it.

  688. And so there's that idea of a body,

  689. but, um, and we can use that here,

  690. but also ship Immers meant to create,

  691. to form or a point, and the cove

  692. is with shape to shape something.

  693. So, uh, this gives the idea of

  694. something that is up building, but

  695. also that this fellowship is like

  696. a corporation with a point here.

  697. It's a corporation where

  698. everyone in it has their own

  699. duty, and it's this whole body.

  700. It's a corporation

  701. directed towards a goal.

  702. And there's, there's multiple

  703. levels to fellowship.

  704. There's this whole fellowship here, but

  705. we can also have smaller groups within it.

  706. We have small groups and I can have

  707. personal relationships with someone.

  708. So I'm talking about all of these here

  709. and some other common images, um,

  710. that we all know that we are a body

  711. and we all have our own parts and

  712. you cannot separate the parts of

  713. the body, but that body will die.

  714. And then we're also sheep,

  715. which means we're in a flock.

  716. We're all together united

  717. under the shepherd.

  718. So, uh, three verses.

  719. These three verses, I think

  720. best emphasize the idea behind

  721. fellowship that I want to give.

  722. So I have encouragement,

  723. prayer, and that constellation.

  724. So first, encourage one another

  725. and build one another up.

  726. Confess your sins to one another and

  727. pray for one another that you may be

  728. healed and bear one another's burdens

  729. and still fulfill the law of Christ.

  730. So with with Constellation, you can

  731. see, um, it's not just that we're

  732. separate from other people's experiences

  733. and we're, oh, I'm praying for you.

  734. You're over there.

  735. I'm over here.

  736. It's, it's an empathy and it's a, it's a

  737. sharing, it's a unity in the experience.

  738. Now, that is a kind of strange

  739. thought, um, but we see in Romans 1215.

  740. Rejoice with those who rejoice

  741. and weep with those who weep.

  742. And

  743. yeah, I think that's all I

  744. have to say for this sled.

  745. Okay.

  746. Ecclesiastes four, nine through

  747. 12, I think is a great, um,

  748. picture represents the, the power

  749. and the necessity of community.

  750. Two are better than one because they

  751. have a good reward for their toil, for if

  752. they fall, one will lift up his fellow.

  753. If one of us is struggling and

  754. sin has fallen down in a struggle,

  755. another person can come, can pray

  756. for him, can support him, encourage

  757. him, give him advice, and, and lead

  758. him, lead him in the right direction.

  759. But woe to him who is alone when he falls

  760. and has not another to lift him up again.

  761. If two lie together, they keep warm.

  762. How can one keep form alone?

  763. And though a man might prevail

  764. against one who is alone,

  765. two will withstand him alone.

  766. As a single sheep, we can be

  767. devoured, we're vulnerable.

  768. We cannot, uh, necessarily

  769. prevail by ourselves.

  770. Satan can come, but

  771. two will withstand him.

  772. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.

  773. And another passage that shows the power

  774. in community, though it's often used, uh,

  775. to show other, other things is Genesis 11,

  776. where everyone united to build a tower.

  777. But, and, and God said, um,

  778. nothing will be impossible for

  779. them, but their community was,

  780. did not have God as the leader.

  781. And they, it was, has the

  782. goal of rebelling against God.

  783. So its general idea was

  784. evil, but it had great power.

  785. But obviously we're not

  786. more powerful than God.

  787. So now finally, how can we act this out?

  788. Um, so this idea of fellowship is very

  789. close to the idea of service because

  790. often when the, the idea of the body of

  791. the church is brought up in the Bible,

  792. it's, it's right, uh, it, it's there

  793. to introduce the idea that each of

  794. us have our own gifts and talents and

  795. our own function and role in the body.

  796. And it discusses a role.

  797. So that's another topic to

  798. discuss and that'd be interesting.

  799. Um, so first of all, we can

  800. partake in small groups.

  801. I said that, uh, fellowship can be on a

  802. small, smaller level within the church.

  803. So we have small groups.

  804. It'd be great if you can partake in them.

  805. We also have, you can build

  806. friendships, you can strengthen your

  807. relationships, and you can make new ones.

  808. Personal relationships between one person

  809. can be very powerful and pray continually.

  810. We need to hear other people's sufferings

  811. and let our sufferings known to others

  812. so we can be there for each other.

  813. And most importantly, put down your money.

  814. Put your fees low.

  815. Keep each other warm.

  816. Okay?

  817. So we all have, um, our

  818. own ways we can love.

  819. You know, one person loves one way

  820. and another person loves another.

  821. And you know, that's go back,

  822. it goes back to service.

  823. How can we, um, individually, uh, use our

  824. own abilities to benefit the community?

  825. Okay, so don't break out

  826. against all sound judgment.

  827. We are here as a whole body and we

  828. have our own smaller groups within it.

  829. In any way, we are able let

  830. us one love, one another, and

  831. receive one another's love.

  832. Thank you.

  833. Very, very, very impressive.

  834. Well said.

  835. And uh, certainly for a 2:00

  836. AM finale that is well said.

  837. I can't help but, uh, sit here and

  838. think about what Gabriel's talking

  839. about this community we have, right?

  840. There's a lot of faces that

  841. are coming back to the Lord and

  842. they're looking for that Lord here.

  843. There's people who have been here a

  844. long time, maybe not so long, but that's

  845. seriously encouraging that you are.

  846. It is okay to ask for help.

  847. It is okay to put this stuff out

  848. there that is draining you and

  849. crushing you because this is a family.

  850. This is White Rock Fellowship,

  851. and although the fellowship

  852. means you gotta tithe more of

  853. the baskets in the back, sure.

  854. It is a family.

  855. So we're here to support each other

  856. and sometimes you need the support.

  857. So seek it and this family

  858. to take care of you.

  859. Alright, our next contestant that's

  860. gonna come to the stage is Finn Teigen.

  861. Come on up here.

  862. Finn,

  863. you need this.

  864. Thank you.

  865. Huh?

  866. Hey.

  867. Alright, so, okay, I'm gonna be talking

  868. about respect and honor today, which,

  869. if you guys all know, I'm like the

  870. most respectful kid in the world.

  871. No, that's a lie.

  872. I'm sorry.

  873. I am.

  874. It's a constant battle

  875. with me being respectful.

  876. Especially to my beautiful mother

  877. who puts up with everything I do.

  878. But, uh, yeah, respect

  879. and honor Exodus 2012.

  880. Honor your father and mother that

  881. your days may be long in the Lord and

  882. uh, the Lord your God is giving you,

  883. who here has a problem like

  884. respecting their parents?

  885. I feel like a lot of hands

  886. should be raised broke.

  887. Abby, come on.

  888. Alright, that is, uh, clearly in

  889. the Bible that you should respect

  890. your father and mother and it's just

  891. sometimes really hard and you gotta

  892. ask God for help a lot with that.

  893. Um, Luke 6 31 and as you wish that

  894. others would do to you do so onto them.

  895. That's something about honor.

  896. Honoring somebody is, oh,

  897. I gotta flip the page.

  898. I'm sorry.

  899. Honor is a two-way street.

  900. Uh, the Bible doesn't say that, uh,

  901. to receive honor, but to give it,

  902. sorry, I just had a brain fart.

  903. Um, Romans, uh, 1210.

  904. This is short and this isn't the

  905. whole full thing, but, uh, be devoted

  906. to one another above yourselves.

  907. Devote yourself to everyone else and

  908. treat them with honor and respect.

  909. Don't just treat them like they're a

  910. piece of trash, like they don't matter.

  911. It clearly says in the Bible that

  912. we're a group of people and that we

  913. need to respect and honor each other.

  914. Humility is key.

  915. Uh, love and respect are inseparable,

  916. and it's an act of choice to respect

  917. and to honor somebody is your choice.

  918. If you're choosing not to do that, then

  919. you're standing right in front of God.

  920. Everybody has a chance to be respected.

  921. Everybody should be respected

  922. because we're all beautiful

  923. children In the eyes of God,

  924. no matter what your background is,

  925. no matter what you've done, no matter

  926. what your beliefs are, he loves you.

  927. And we should love that

  928. person, group of people.

  929. It doesn't matter the man

  930. who killed Charlie Kirk.

  931. Honestly, I hope that he finds God.

  932. I hope his he's saved, and I hope he

  933. goes to heaven, and I hope him and

  934. Charlie can find each other up there and

  935. they can embrace and praise the Lord.

  936. So yeah.

  937. Thank you.

  938. Powerful statement.

  939. Praying for your enemies.

  940. Very powerful statement that we all

  941. gotta be reminded of when you're all

  942. in social media and someone says,

  943. says something snippy about whatever,

  944. political something, something or another.

  945. Not really your enemy, right?

  946. Not really.

  947. Pray for 'em.

  948. They need it.

  949. We need it.

  950. I hope they're praying for us.

  951. 'cause all of us for fall

  952. short of the glory of God.

  953. So pray for each other.

  954. We'll keep on marching along.

  955. Another young man to come to

  956. the stage would be Van Burkhart.

  957. Come on up here, van.

  958. Alright y'all, you need this?

  959. Oh, I keep putting it away.

  960. You grab it.

  961. I'll stand here and run my mouth.

  962. I'm getting tired.

  963. There you go.

  964. Get it all set up.

  965. Alright, well I'm excited to

  966. hear what you have to say when

  967. it comes to your walk with Jesus.

  968. Hello.

  969. So today I wanted to talk

  970. about the idea of love.

  971. Love is patient and kind.

  972. Love does not envy, or boast is not

  973. arrogant or rude, is not insist on its

  974. own ways, is not irritable or resentful.

  975. I just, I just want to look at

  976. the definition of what's then.

  977. So love waits.

  978. Love is generous.

  979. Love is not jealous, and love

  980. does not talk behind your back.

  981. Love is not self revolved

  982. or disrespectful.

  983. It is not lean on its own understanding.

  984. It is not annoying, it's not unfair,

  985. and it does not celebrate wrongdoing.

  986. It celebrates the truth.

  987. I just wanna talk about how the

  988. devil has twisted the idea of love

  989. and how it's twisted it to being

  990. like money, love, or money and lust

  991. and uh, treasures and also loving.

  992. Just 'cause someone else loves you.

  993. Love isn't just a feeling.

  994. You can feel like when I praise to God,

  995. I can feel his love, but I don't choose

  996. to love him just 'cause he loves me.

  997. I choose to love him 'cause I love him.

  998. In your relationships, if you get in

  999. a fight, you don't get mad at them.

  1000. Say, I don't love you anymore

1001. 'cause you're disagreeing with me.

1002. You don't love me anymore.

1003. You choose to love them

  1004. even if they're your

  1005. enemy in Matthew 5 44.

1006. But I tell you, love your enemies.

1007. Bless those who curse you.

  1008. Do not.

1009. Do good to those who hate you and pray for

1010. those who mistreat you and persecute you.

1011. Jesus is saying to pray for your enemies

1012. even if they're trying to kill you.

1013. 'cause that's what Jesus did on

1014. the cross when he was dying and

1015. we were all screaming crucify him.

  1016. He didn't say, I don't love you

1017. anymore 'cause you guys are killing me.

1018. He said in verse Luke 2334, and

1019. Jesus said, father, forgive them for

1020. they know not what they do and they

1021. cast lus to divide his garments.

  1022. Love can be hard.

1023. Jesus loved us even when we

1024. didn't deserve it, but we have to

1025. choose to love even if it's hard.

1026. So choose to love 'cause

  1027. he loved you first.

1028. Well, I can't help, but, uh, wanna

1029. praise him for that leading with love.

  1030. What a great example

1031. Jesus has blessed us with.

1032. And what a fine example of

1033. being up here on this stage.

1034. All these youth share with

1035. you what's on their hearts.

1036. We do have one final speaker, so

1037. I'm gonna invite you to the stage.

  1038. That's Elliot.

  1039. Darnell, where ya at?

  1040. Come on in.

1041. Well, I guess I have one question for you.

1042. Do you need that stand?

  1043. Alright, go ahead.

  1044. I'll stand here.

1045. I'll fill that space that

1046. I'm really good at filling.

  1047. Alright, let's see what

1048. Jesus put on your heart.

  1049. Uh.

1050. I've written out my whole message

  1051. 'cause I don't wanna forget what

1052. I have to say, so I'm just gonna,

  1053. I'm gonna read it.

  1054. 11 days ago, Charlie

  1055. Kirk was assassinated.

1056. That made me really upset.

  1057. It was unjust, unprovoked,

  1058. and just plain evil.

1059. It's the most shocking thing

1060. that's happened in my lifetime.

1061. His only crimes that I could

1062. find were telling the truth.

1063. Holding open debate, and being a

1064. Christian, I was sad and angry for his

1065. wife who just lost her husband for his

1066. children, who just lost their father

1067. for the right of freedom of speech

1068. that has just been so egregiously

1069. violated and for the United States

1070. who have just lost a beacon of light.

  1071. However, I wasn't sad for him.

1072. I had no doubt that he went to heaven.

  1073. I wondered how I felt that.

1074. So sure about that because to be

  1075. honest with you, sometimes I don't

1076. know if I'll go to heaven when I

  1077. die or I feel like I don't know.

1078. So how do you know if you'll

1079. go to heaven when you die?

1080. Do you need to run a $200 million company

1081. and talk in front of hundreds of thousands

1082. of people or do some sort of great deed?

  1083. No.

  1084. Romans 10, 9, 10 tells us if you

1085. confess with your mouth that Jesus is

1086. Lord and believe in your heart that

1087. God raised him from the dead, you

1088. will be saved for what the heart one

1089. believes and is justified and with

1090. the mouth one confesses and is saved.

1091. So we are saved through faith not works.

1092. That doesn't mean we shouldn't do works

1093. though on the contrary, James 2 26 says.

1094. For just as the body apart

1095. from the spirit is dead.

1096. So also faith apart from works is dead.

1097. And in John 15, five and six,

1098. Jesus says, I'm the vine.

  1099. You are the branches.

1100. Whoever abides in me and I in him,

1101. he it is that bears much fruit for

1102. apart from me, you can do nothing.

1103. If anyone does not abide in me,

1104. he's thrown away like a branch and

1105. withers and the branches are gathered,

1106. thrown into the fire and burned.

1107. This isn't saying that works

1108. are what grants you salvation.

  1109. It's saying you can't have

1110. faith and not bear fruit.

1111. So what is this fruit

  1112. you're supposed to bear?

1113. I believe it's the fruit of the spirit,

  1114. which according to Galatians 5 22 and 23

1115. is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,

  1116. goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,

1117. and self-control against these things.

1118. Sir, it's no law these fruits.

  1119. Aren't given by our spirits, they're

1120. given by the Holy Spirit, and it should

1121. be evident in the life of every believer.

1122. So I'll leave you with this question.

1123. It's not me asking you.

  1124. It's us asking ourselves,

  1125. am I bearing fruit?

  1126. Yes.

  1127. Am I bearing fruit?

1128. Just like I asked you, there's so many

1129. different kind of fruit out there.

  1130. I don't know if you're an orange or a

1131. grape, but there's different ways to serve

1132. in this church, whether it's helping with

1133. itty bitty kids, loving on a baby, so

1134. mom could have a few moments, uh, without

1135. being clung on, pulled on hair snagged.

  1136. Maybe it's a volunteer with the,

1137. the youth mentorship that's gonna

1138. be happening right after church.

1139. You could be in that meeting

1140. and see what that's about.

1141. Maybe it's just helping serve coffee.

1142. So it's not always on Scott.

1143. So he has a little bit of

1144. freedom from the coffee bar.

  1145. But ask yourself, that's

  1146. a real, real question.

  1147. And he doesn't, he doesn't

1148. say that to be cruel or mean.

1149. It's 'cause he loves you guys and he

1150. thought it was important enough to share.

1151. It's like, man, we, we know with,

1152. if you really have faith, there's

1153. gonna be some sort of works.

1154. There's gonna be some sort of fruit.

1155. Am I bearing any fruit?

1156. Well, I absolutely love this youth group.

  1157. Woo.

  1158. I do.

1159. I am, uh, tremendously proud of

1160. them for one week putting together.

1161. So many incredible thoughts, and I pray

1162. that God use that Holy Spirit to maybe

1163. soften your hearts in some areas where

1164. potentially you could serve better.

  1165. Maybe your fruit.

1166. You can find the love,

  1167. peace, and patience.

1168. It needs to be a little

1169. more abundant in your day.

1170. But I can't help but just wanna have

1171. one last, one last, uh, applause.

1172. And then I'll kind of

  1173. close this in prayer.

  1174. But one last applause

  1175. for this youth group.

1176. What an incredible job they did.

  1177. Yeah, yeah.

  1178. Hey, youth group, look,

1179. look, look, look at 'em.

1180. They love you and they're proud of you.

  1181. Look at 'em.

1182. I, I told Josh it was gonna be a game

1183. time decision, and if it didn't go

1184. too long, I wanted to say one thing.

1185. And it went way too long.

1186. But listen, the teens were perfect.

1187. It was all the old people who made

1188. Brent run all around this room, right?

1189. You guys made church long.

1190. So look at each other.

1191. Don't look at these guys.

  1192. They were perfectly timed.

1193. I just wanna say this, man, we've

1194. been watching over the last couple

1195. weeks, and there is a revival

1196. happening amongst young people in

1197. this country and around the world.

1198. Things are moving and things are shifting.

  1199. Charlie Kirk talked

  1200. about courage and faith.

1201. And what you saw this morning was a

1202. bunch of teenagers being courageous

1203. about their faith in this space.

1204. Broadcast all over the internet

1205. so all your friends can see.

1206. Whoa, just told you about that.

  1207. My bad.

1208. But the reality, the reality is,

1209. man, you guys, you guys are legit.

1210. Drake's sister Mia called me this

1211. week and we talked about church a

1212. little bit 'cause she's been kind of.

1213. Up at college at Taylor, navigating

1214. what do I do as this young lady?

1215. Now I'm my own person trying to find

1216. church and she was talking about

1217. what to look for and some things, you

1218. know, and just what it's about, you

1219. know, just concept, all this stuff.

1220. But she said something really

1221. special that I kinda latched onto.

  1222. She said, everywhere I go, I

1223. tell people about White Rock.

1224. It's the closest thing I've ever seen.

1225. To what the church in acts look like.

1226. And I gotta say like this

  1227. morning, we didn't come for a

1228. show or a program or a message.

1229. You got like 20 of 'em, right?

1230. But this is what church is.

1231. It's the body of Christ.

  1232. It's the fellowship of

1233. believers, as you said, Gabriel.

  1234. It's God's people.

1235. Sharing, being open and honest,

  1236. encouraging one another, challenging

1237. one another, confessing our sins to

1238. one another and asking for prayer.

1239. And then also giving praise to

1240. God for what he's at work doing.

1241. And I believe this with all my heart.

  1242. Our teenagers are not

  1243. the church of tomorrow.

1244. They are the church of today.

1245. And we're gonna see more of

1246. them up here because we need

1247. that as older people, right?

1248. Timothy, in that scripture, it speaks

1249. very clearly as Paul says to this young

1250. guy, Timothy, Hey, don't let anybody

1251. look down on you 'cause you're young.

1252. But instead, set an example

1253. for the believers in faith, in

1254. speech, in conduct, and in purity.

1255. And you guys are not perfect.

1256. Some of you live in my house and I

1257. know this, but at the end of the day.

1258. You also live with a bunch of other people

1259. who aren't perfect and church, it was

1260. so encouraging listening to Roger share

1261. about some older guys kind of popping

1262. into church today that were part of this

1263. youth group when he was trying to help

1264. pour out and love that means something and

1265. watching you guys today stand for Jesus.

  1266. That means something.

1267. So hope your encouraged church by

1268. the message of the morning from

1269. this awesome group of young people.

1270. Please grab a prayer calendar.

1271. Please put it on your fridge.

1272. Let's pray in earnest that God

1273. continues what he's doing, moving

1274. and shaping the lives of our young

1275. people and transform in our culture.

1276. 'cause God is on the move.

1277. He is on the move, and the old miserable

1278. people who just don't care can sit

1279. in the corner and whine about it.

1280. But how about the people who

1281. really love Jesus and who are

1282. excited about what God wants to do?

1283. We get on our knees about it and

1284. we pray and we ask God to move

1285. and to continue what he's doing.

  1286. Let's start with this.

1287. Lord Jesus, thank you for

  1288. this incredible morning.

1289. Thank you for your church, your body,

1290. your family, for the words that were

1291. shared and encouragement, the struggles,

1292. the pains, the heartaches, the joys.

1293. God is so good to just be with

1294. your people and to be with you.

1295. Thank you for these young people

1296. who let us in worship, who let

1297. us in prayer, who let us in

1298. speaking and sharing your message.

1299. God, this morning there was something for

1300. everyone in this room that through the

1301. power of your spirit you wanted to say

1302. and you didn't say it through old people,

1303. you said it through teenagers who spent

1304. time with your Holy Spirit and with you

1305. to just learn and to know what to say.

1306. So thank you for their faithfulness and

1307. God I pray it would light a fire in them.

1308. If you can stand up in front of a

1309. microphone and talk to a crowd, you can

1310. talk to your friends a little bit in

1311. those moments where you speak Holy Spirit.

1312. So God, I pray you to encourage our

1313. young people, strengthen them, Lord,

1314. bless them for what they share with

1315. us today and help us Lord, who maybe

1316. are no longer in that teen category.

1317. To be maybe a little convicted

1318. about how much we speak and how

1319. much we share, and how much courage

1320. is on display from our faith.

1321. Help us to walk in that today, Jesus, and

1322. to keep flowing this awesome movement of

1323. your spirit that's happening around us.

1324. Fill us, bless, and Lord, just thank you.

1325. 'cause you are so good.

  1326. In Jesus' name.

1327. We pray all these things.

  1328. Amen.
