  1. Well, good morning everybody.

  2. I had like a, a vision of how I

  3. was gonna go about talking to you

  4. guys with Advent and hope and,

  5. and peace and all these things.

  6. But, uh, I, I think I'm

  7. rushing a little bit.

  8. I'm just so excited about love after

  9. singing that last song, just rejoicing

  10. and just praising God, sitting here

  11. thinking about what he did out of love.

  12. Boy, we couldn't be more blessed this

  13. advent season, this really exciting

  14. time where we get to anticipate, well,

  15. we already know Jesus came and there's

  16. victory there and we're living in it.

  17. And also to remind us of, uh, his second

  18. coming, so we better stay vigilant.

  19. But a couple weeks ago we talked about

  20. that hope 'cause of his first coming and

  21. the second coming, and the peace we have

  22. because of what Jesus Christ did that

  23. reconnects us to the Heavenly Father,

  24. prince of Peace brought us back together.

  25. Thank you God.

  26. I'm gonna take some time

  27. to light this candle.

  28. That represents love.

  29. Well, I like that you guys

  30. can check out, uh, something.

  31. Our youth group was a whole bunch

  32. of leaders too, were part of

  33. yesterday when it comes to, uh,

  34. just sharing Jesus Christ's love.

  35. So if you wanna start that for me.

  36. Well, those images that, uh,

  37. passed on behind me was a really,

  38. really cool, real cool time.

  39. Yesterday, we got to share Jesus' love

  40. and in some way it was

  41. pretty, pretty overwhelming.

  42. Some of the stories we had, I went

  43. with the, the ladies to our group and,

  44. and our group had the, uh, blessing

  45. of, of shopping for a Spanish speaking

  46. family, not a lick English about 'em.

  47. And so we went to Myers and we got all the

  48. gifts for the kiddos and mom and dad, and

  49. then we went to a Crossroads church and

  50. wrapped all these presents and had a blast

  51. and some sugary treats along the way.

  52. And then we got to actually drop off

  53. these gifts face to face with dad.

  54. There's a little excitement that my

  55. wife had to pull out some of those, uh,

  56. Spanish skills from high school and she

  57. was amazing, but we got it timed up, found

  58. the right place, and got to meet dad.

  59. And like I said, massive language barrier,

  60. but there was not a barrier in the

  61. expression of love for what we were doing.

  62. You could tell the joy as he received

  63. these gifts, how appreciative he

  64. was of it, how blown away bag after

  65. bag thinking he could carry it all.

  66. Then realizing, oh,

  67. this is a lot of stuff.

  68. It's got some weight to it.

  69. And then we got to bring it into his

  70. house and just pray with him as a group.

  71. It was incredible.

  72. What a blessing.

  73. That doesn't matter what

  74. language barriers we have.

  75. Love supersedes any language barrier.

  76. And then I hear from the

  77. boys group a scenario.

  78. I don't, I don't know, but most

  79. likely we have grandma and grandpa.

  80. Grandpa's struggling and grandpa's

  81. taking over the responsibility

  82. of three grand babies.

  83. And I don't know why, but to hear

  84. the, uh, story told from a couple

  85. of the people that were there, her

  86. overwhelming love that she felt and

  87. joy, and how they just kept saying

  88. thank you with tears in their eyes.

  89. Wow, that's doing some really

  90. incredible, powerful stuff.

  91. I couldn't be more proud of you youth

  92. for just once again, getting up early

  93. on a Saturday to come goof off with

  94. us and share Jesus Christ's love.

  95. But as much as, uh, we do some cool things

  96. outta love following our, our Lord and

  97. Savior, I'd rather point it back to him.

  98. And his love

  99. literally sent his son to

  100. die on the cross for us.

  101. Because he loves us far

  102. more than he hates sin.

  103. Boy, that makes a, an easy, an

  104. easy relationship builder between

  105. us and our Heavenly Father.

  106. So if you guys are struggling

  107. feeling the love this season, know

  108. that that's your heavenly Father.

  109. He loves you so much.

  110. He was willing to die on a cross

  111. in a brutal way to pay prices.

  112. He should have never had to have

  113. paid, but he did it because of love.

  114. If you guys would pray

  115. with me, let's pray.

  116. God in heaven,

  117. incredible.

  118. God in heaven, our Father who

  119. loves us so much, thank you.

  120. Thank you for this time of year that

  121. we get to just celebrate, enjoy, and

  122. hope, and be filled with peace and

  123. 'cause of what you've sacrificed for us.

  124. Creator of the universe.

  125. And yet you serve us over and over again

  126. with blessings and the every day and some

  127. of the mundane, and obviously the most

  128. critical and most important are eternity.

  129. Thank you God for how you love God.

  130. I pray that you would encourage us in

  131. this season, fill us up with that love and

  132. help us to pour it out for one another.

  133. And I prayed in Jesus' name.

  134. We prayed in Jesus' name.

  135. Amen.

  136. Rusty, one of those I can use.

  137. Okay.

  138. I know you got stuff on.

  139. Thanks.

  140. Well, Andy is not feeling well this

  141. morning, so you gotta pinch hitter,

  142. and we're talking about love and oh,

  143. I've experienced a lot of that this week.

  144. Different kind of love, you know, it's

  145. an off love is an awfully big word

  146. for only having four letters in it.

  147. Uh, Andy's laid out all the different

  148. kinds of love that they're worried.

  149. Did that sometime, this last fall.

  150. Hopefully you were here for that.

  151. And I'm not gonna repeat all of

  152. those things, uh, but I've been

  153. experiencing the kind of love that you.

  154. You get from family and and friends.

  155. On Wednesday morning, my wonderful

  156. daughter had gone to work and everything

  157. was slippery and people were sliding

  158. through intersections and having

  159. accidents and said, I just wanted to put

  160. this out here for the wait family chat

  161. here in Indiana, that, uh, how bad the

  162. roads were, especially since dad seems

  163. to be sliding into things these days.

  164. I know that that was meant

  165. in love and it wasn't me.

  166. No, it wasn't Jamie.

  167. It was, that's my daughter-in-law,

  168. who was the daughter.

  169. Okay.

  170. So then, uh,

  171. my sister called up and said, you're.

  172. You should be taking it easy.

  173. I said I'm taking it

  174. about as easy as I can.

  175. You know, Ron, where are you hiding, Ron?

  176. You're too big to hide.

  177. Where, where are you?

  178. There you are.

  179. Okay.

  180. I couldn't see you because of

  181. the glow of Robin behind you.

  182. So Ron says, are you taking it easy?

  183. And I said, yes.

  184. I'm taking it easy.

  185. He said, no, no.

  186. He said Your idea of taking it easy is a

  187. 40-year-old man, not a 70-year-old man.

  188. Now, come on.

  189. So I know that you were saying

  190. that out of love, Fran, right?

  191. Yeah.

  192. Okay.

  193. So then, ah, I'm getting it from all

  194. sides and, and for whatever reason,

  195. the worst three days I have had since

  196. this thing has happened has been.

  197. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

  198. So whatever that was about, I don't

  199. know, but I put together two 1000

  200. piece puzzles in two and a half days.

  201. So you can tell I, I tried

  202. to put that out there.

  203. I am not overdoing it.

  204. You gotta spend a lot of time

  205. just sitting doing nothing.

  206. But in between times, I did go in and

  207. go in the recliner and sleep in the

  208. recliner to build up my strength to go

  209. out and put those puzzle pieces together.

  210. So it's on the record, it's there.

  211. I have been being good so they can listen

  212. to the sermon if they want to know.

  213. Oh my goodness.

  214. So anyway.

  215. Since Andy's covered all the

  216. stuff on love, I'm just gonna

  217. get down to something simple.

  218. Turn your Bibles over to John chapter

    John 15 chapter mention

  219. 15 and we'll start with, uh, verse nine.

  220. Okay, John 15, verse nine.

  221. Now, you know I'm a bugaboo about, Jamie

  222. asked me if I had a new Bible when she

  223. brought me down to church this morning.

  224. And, uh, I said, yeah, I

  225. had that several months.

  226. Now it's a big print so I can read it.

  227. And uh, I said, you gotta have

  228. a Bible to carry to church.

  229. Not like Dax who carries a phone.

  230. Because I get up there and I tell

  231. everybody, you know, it's important.

  232. That's a sword.

  233. Carry that thing with you.

  234. It's a good thing to have, and I also

  235. would tell people, but all you guys

  236. that are really into all technology and

  237. whatnot, okay, do you know what it takes

  238. to change the version of the Bible that

  239. you listen to all the time, about 15

  240. seconds from somebody to enter something

  241. and you won't even know it's been done?

  242. That's how often you can change an

  243. electronic version of what you read.

  244. You get one of these, the only way

  245. they're gonna change that version

  246. if somebody sneaks into your house

  247. at night and scribbles something

  248. out and writes something in,

  249. and you'll probably catch that.

  250. So anyway, here we are,

  251. John, chapter 15, verse nine.

    John 15 chapter mention

  252. As the father has loved

  253. me, so have I loved you.

  254. Now remain in my love.

  255. If you keep my commandments, commands,

  256. excuse me, you will remain in my

  257. love just as I have kept my father's

  258. commands and remain in his love.

  259. I have told you this is so

  260. that my joy may be in you and

  261. that your joy may be complete.

  262. My command is this, love each

  263. other as I have loved you.

  264. Greater love is no one than this to

  265. lay down one's life for one's friend.

  266. You are my friends if you do what

  267. I command, and I no longer call you

  268. servants because the servant does

  269. not know his master's business.

  270. Instead, I have called you friends for

  271. everything that I learned from my father.

  272. I have been known to you.

  273. You did not choose me, but I

  274. chose you and appointed you so

  275. that you might go and bear fruit.

  276. Fruit that will last.

  277. So that whatever you ask in my

  278. name, the father will give you.

  279. This is my command.

  280. Love each other.

  281. Okay?

  282. So I'm not not going to dissect

  283. that for you in Greek or various

  284. forms of Hebrew or anything else.

  285. We're just gonna go to the simple truth.

  286. Jesus loved us, so we

  287. need to love each other.

  288. That's what you were doing yesterday.

  289. Very important thing.

  290. We need to love each other

  291. as Christians,

  292. we need to do the type of things that

  293. Josh and the teens did yesterday.

  294. We love each other by filling

  295. the food pantry out here.

  296. We need to pray for each other.

  297. That's how we love.

  298. We need to encourage each

  299. other, help in time of need.

  300. You know, the list goes on and on and on

  301. and on of all the things that we could do,

  302. but there's a couple of other things

  303. that I want to bring up about loving.

  304. God loved us, Josh, you did a great

  305. job of just laying out the thing

  306. of God loving us, and he does.

  307. Or we'd all be dead.

  308. We think of love as sacrificing

  309. for the people we care about.

  310. We think of love as giving

  311. something, you know, over in the

  312. Old Testament says, I, I will not

  313. offer anything that costs me nothing.

  314. That's a picture of sacrifice

  315. there and love does cost.

  316. If you don't understand that, then

  317. number one, you're probably not married.

  318. Because if you are married, it will

  319. cost you in every way, shape, or form.

  320. That's why it's so important to choose

  321. the person that you marry because they

  322. better be worth the cost both ways.

  323. But my thing, when I read

  324. this and when I think of love,

  325. verse 12 says, my command is this.

  326. Love each other as I have loved you.

  327. Love each other.

  328. That's a list of all those things.

  329. But how did Jesus love?

  330. What was his love like?

  331. What about his.

  332. What, what did it cost him to love?

  333. You know, I can remember

  334. when, oh goodness.

  335. Andy was in, uh, kindergarten

  336. maybe, maybe he was first grade.

  337. Christie was in kindergarten and

  338. Adam was just a snot nose little kid.

  339. And for those of you who remember

  340. Adam, my such little has changed.

  341. You know,

  342. he's a pastor and he is

  343. still a snot-nosed kid.

  344. Uh, I know he won't take the time to

  345. listen to the sermon, so I'm safe there.

  346. Uh, yeah, I'm sure he'll

  347. get it done quickly.

  348. Oh goodness.

  349. But you know, Pam ended up with cancer.

  350. I've shared that story over and over that.

  351. She wasn't supposed to make

  352. it through that year, and

  353. that's 30 some years ago now.

  354. But we talk a little bit about the cost.

  355. Well, God healed her and brought her

  356. through that, but I live with the

  357. person that cost me my first house,

  358. my second house, my third house.

  359. And every car I could have ever driven

  360. that didn't have 150,000 miles on it.

  361. When I bought it, it cost me

  362. to be married to that woman.

  363. Now she is a wonderful lady

  364. who has impeccable taste.

  365. I mean, you know, hey, uh, you can't argue

  366. with that piece of the pie, but you also,

  367. if you go looking for anything in a store.

  368. You know which piece she'll pick out.

  369. The most expensive thing there is there,

  370. uh, it cost me to be married to her.

  371. Now what did it cost?

  372. Jesus, he left the throne in heaven.

  373. Right, okay.

  374. He suffered and died on the cross, and

  375. I spent most of my life working and

  376. ministering to people that wouldn't

  377. darken the doors of the church.

  378. And so their response is

  379. almost always the same.

  380. Well, yeah, but he's, he was God's son.

  381. He knew even if he died, he

  382. was gonna come back to life.

  383. It was all, it was all a setup.

  384. Well, you know, he experienced it all.

  385. He didn't cut himself out

  386. of any of those things.

  387. And one of the things that.

  388. Has touched me that I have shared with

  389. people forever and it's hard to get past

  390. for people who don't know Jesus and that

  391. when you think of God, the father sending

  392. his son and as as Jesus is hanging on the

  393. cross and he's already agonized in the

  394. garden, but he is hanging on the cross

  395. and he's there experiencing the moments

  396. right up to death and saying, daddy,

  397. why have you forsaken me?

  398. And I love the term because

  399. it's not Father, you know.

  400. Oh, godly man in heaven.

  401. It's Daddy.

  402. Those of you who have had children.

  403. Boy, there's something special

  404. when that little guy or gal come

  405. running up and call you daddy.

  406. That's special.

  407. And so he calls out to

  408. his father, daddy, why?

  409. Why?

  410. Why have you forsaken me?

  411. And the picture that always

  412. just stuns my heart is when his

  413. father in heaven has the choice.

  414. Jesus has already committed himself

  415. to that function of going and

  416. being the sacrifice, but his father

  417. looks out there, hears that from his

  418. son, and his son is able to look down.

  419. He looks right at Cole and he

  420. says, okay, I can either have

  421. Cole or I can have my son.

  422. And he turns his back on his son and

  423. says, I'd rather have coal take my son.

  424. Now, as a dad, anybody who's been a dad

  425. knows what kind of a price

  426. that is oftentimes is the son.

  427. Okay?

  428. We experience a pain in all of those

  429. things, but here is dad who has his heart

  430. literally ripped out of himself because he

  431. wants a relationship with you and with me.

  432. That's how important we are,

  433. and it doesn't work to say

  434. we, that's how important I am.

  435. That's how important coal is.

  436. That's how important Josh is,

  437. that God looks at that and

  438. says, I have to do something.

  439. So when I read this and says, my command

  440. is this, love each other as I have loved.

  441. Now all of a sudden love

  442. takes on a different picture.

  443. Is that how I love?

  444. Over in Deuteronomy chapter

  445. six, verse five, it says that

  446. we are to love the Lord our God

  447. with all of our heart and all of

  448. our soul, all of our strength.

  449. You know what?

  450. That to me, creates a pretty good picture.

  451. Number of years ago, I heard a

  452. group of theologians discussing

  453. what it meant to love God.

  454. And they were trying to help people

  455. understand this relationship because

  456. it's different, you know, trying

  457. to fathom this love relationship

  458. with God that we cannot see.

  459. We can only sense and

  460. feel him in our heart.

  461. And so they said the best way to picture

  462. it is like now they used the term pizza.

  463. Okay, now your head pastor loves pizza.

  464. So you still have all those boxes?

  465. Or did your mom make 'em get rid of them?

  466. Garage mall.

  467. They're still there.

  468. Okay.

  469. If you went someplace, you needed

  470. a box from that pizza place.

  471. Okay.

  472. And.

  473. When we go to Minnesota as a

  474. family, everybody wants to go

  475. to Zorbas or Tasty Pizza North.

  476. And I gained five pounds

  477. just sitting there with doing

  478. nothing 'cause gotta have pizza.

  479. Okay, well these guys said, you know, it's

  480. not like loving your wife, your kids, it's

  481. like, well I love pizza or I love steak.

  482. And that really bothered

  483. me the more I heard that.

  484. 'cause I'm, I'm pretty simple.

  485. It's,

  486. if the Bible makes sense, don't try

  487. to make something crazy out of it.

  488. But it made meto and think

  489. what does it mean to love God?

  490. And I came back to the point of

  491. the way he loved us.

  492. Is that he would rather

  493. sacrifice whatever it took

  494. for his love to reach us and to

  495. have a love relationship with us.

  496. That's not like loving pizza or steak or

  497. loving going to Florida in the winter.

  498. It's nothing like that.

  499. If I am going to love the Lord

  500. my God with all of my heart,

  501. then I need to love in a way that

  502. says I cannot live without him.

  503. Does that make sense?

  504. Pretty simple.

  505. Do I love God like that, or is God.

  506. Something that's very convenient

  507. to help me in my life, to help me

  508. walk, to help me do what's there.

  509. And, and I need to come and spend my time

  510. in church when it's my opportunity to do

  511. so or do I need to find that relationship

  512. with him that is really and truly love.

  513. Now,

  514. my wife did something for me the

  515. other morning when I had my crash.

  516. Why?

  517. Uh, I was able, after I got off the

  518. phone with nine one one, I was able to

  519. call her 'cause she's at the airport.

  520. It's about, at that point, a

  521. little before, five in the morning.

  522. And I said, well honey,

  523. I just totaled the truck.

  524. And she kind of chuckled because

  525. she thought I was making a joke.

  526. Joke.

  527. Well then she realized I wasn't

  528. making a joke and I was able to

  529. say, well, the police are here.

  530. I've gotta get off the phone.

  531. So okay, I'll call you back.

  532. Or vice versa.

  533. Well, this went on until they

  534. were loading the plane was the

  535. next time I got a chance to call.

  536. It was 10 minutes.

  537. She said, I have to go on silent.

  538. And I said, that's fine.

  539. I'm okay.

  540. Call me when you get to Las Vegas.

  541. That was the stop over

  542. point getting to Oregon.

  543. And that was fine.

  544. We talked, we did all that.

  545. So I get a call on Wednesday morning

  546. after she's out there and she

  547. says, Marty, what is wrong with me?

  548. You know, I got my list out right

  549. away and, and got, then I thought,

  550. no, I better put that away.

  551. And I said, what, what,

  552. what are you talking about?

  553. And she said, it was 10 minutes before

  554. the plane was gonna leave the ground.

  555. I don't know whether you were

  556. seriously hurt, but you're okay.

  557. You're gonna make it whether they're

  558. hauling you off in an ambulance and

  559. you're just want me to know when

  560. the time comes that you're okay?

  561. She said, I just got on

  562. that plane and flew off.

  563. What's wrong with me?

  564. You're my husband.

  565. I needed to know that before I left town.

  566. And I said, well, it's nice to know

  567. that you thought of me, and which she

  568. did, but I said, I'm getting along fine.

  569. Just.

  570. Stay there, take care of your

  571. mom for the next two weeks and

  572. I'll see you when you get home.

  573. And, uh, it's, it's been fun

  574. because once before there were a

  575. bunch of things that happened while

  576. she was taking care of her dad.

  577. And she said, if there's things going on,

  578. just don't tell me because I can't handle

  579. any more than what I'm dealing with here.

  580. And I said, okay, this was

  581. before I had the accident.

  582. And so I said, so you

  583. want me to lie to you?

  584. And she said, no.

  585. Well, yeah.

  586. And so I'll be very glad when

  587. she gets home because I can

  588. finally tell her the truth.

  589. About the last two weeks have been like,

  590. but thank you all for not spreading

  591. bad rumors that I am in trouble.

  592. So that's very important.

  593. However, you know, she was thinking at

  594. that moment, go back to that Wednesday

  595. morning and it was just like, you

  596. know, I'm just carrying on with life.

  597. I, I was needed out

  598. there, so I'm, I'm going.

  599. I had to get on the plane.

  600. That's when the tickets saw

  601. her, and you just do that.

  602. And she just felt, she did,

  603. she felt really bad that she

  604. just didn't even think of that.

  605. She said, you know, if, if you were

  606. in a hospital, I would've just got

  607. on a plane and flown back home.

  608. And I didn't even think to do that

  609. because life was busy and I'm carrying on.

  610. Well, that's kind of how we get

  611. in our relationship with the Lord.

  612. You know, we're busy.

  613. We have basketball games.

  614. I like to go to all the

  615. basketball games that I can.

  616. Okay, we have a job to do, and if we can

  617. fit Jesus in there somewhere, we'll do it.

  618. But to say to him, you know, you're

  619. the most important thing in my life.

  620. Before my life goes crazy today, I need

  621. to know that things are all right here.

  622. We need to be okay.

  623. I got 10 minutes before my world just

  624. goes into total chaos, and I need to

  625. know before that 10 minutes is up, that

  626. things are good because I love you, Lord.

  627. Now the one thing that I know is

  628. if you love the Lord like that.

  629. Your family will know it.

  630. Your friends will know it.

  631. Your colleagues at work will know it.

  632. Everyone around you will know it

  633. because you can't hide it.

  634. You know, Ryan and Sarah, 12

  635. years, I congratulated Ryan back

  636. there and said, man, that's great.

  637. I wouldn't have given you 12 months.

  638. But you know, you, you made it.

  639. And,

  640. and I didn't mean a word of that

  641. about making it the 12 months.

  642. Okay?

  643. I had to be a part in their wedding.

  644. You know,

  645. Mike sitting back there, Mike's been

  646. away from the church for a long time and.

  647. I sit back in the back so I can get out

  648. to the back and greet everybody here.

  649. I don't want people leaving the

  650. church without knowing that they

  651. were noticed and they were important.

  652. That's why Pam and I are back there

  653. and skip out, so you can't get by us.

  654. And I try to stand guard and it's,

  655. it's not like, oh, you gotta do that.

  656. I want you to know you're important.

  657. But when I sit back there and I see

  658. people that I've had a hand in helping

  659. them find Jesus, and I watch them

  660. worship and I watch them do what that

  661. is, there's lots of Sunday morning,

  662. I just sit back there and shed a

  663. tear because it's that important.

  664. Mike, when you walked into the

  665. speedway down there and saw Pam and

  666. I and you came over and just gave me

  667. a big old hug, and you cried telling

  668. me how much that I meant to you, why?

  669. What's that worth?

  670. It's, it's worth everything.

  671. We sacrifice meaningless

  672. things to get worthless stuff.

  673. Jesus sacrificed something

  674. that demonstrated love

  675. and he turned around and he said,

  676. I want you to love just like that.

  677. When you do that, people listen.

  678. People listen to your story and they

  679. don't just say, huh, crazy old man.

  680. You know that poor police

  681. officer that had me stuck in

  682. his car for about half an hour?

  683. I bet you he was wishing,

  684. you know, it's not that cold.

  685. Go up and sit in your car.

  686. I'll, I'll give you a

  687. ride when you're done.

  688. And

  689. I'm willing to talk to anybody about

  690. almost anything at almost any time.

  691. But man, he knows about the church.

  692. He knows about my calling.

  693. He knows about Jesus.

  694. He knows about how important that is.

  695. And all he had to say at the end

  696. of that time was, well, you know,

  697. that was really important story.

  698. Thank you for sharing that with me.

  699. Great.

  700. He's on about his day,

  701. but you never can tell.

  702. But he knew one thing and in the

  703. midst of a, an adrenaline rush like

  704. I've never had before, and pain at

  705. losing my best friend and my pickup

  706. truck there and sitting there in his,

  707. I don't know whether they called it

  708. Drunk tank or what, they got one little

  709. seat on the, on the side in the back.

  710. It's the other half.

  711. He has his stuff and they got this like

  712. a, I don't know what the thing, it,

  713. it's like a tote made out of this stuff

  714. and it goes up underneath the seat and

  715. back up and everything and comes around

  716. and you can't even move in that thing.

  717. But I'm sure it's because.

  718. Pick up the drunks and stick 'em in

  719. there, and if they're gonna puke on

  720. everything, they can just wipe it out.

  721. And most uncomfortable place it was.

  722. But that was a little throne room for he

  723. and I and the Lord that morning because

  724. I had a chance and I was gonna take it.

  725. Well,

  726. the other part that I wanna leave

  727. you with is over in 16, after he

  728. is called his friends and he says,

  729. you didn't choose me, I chose you.

  730. I didn't decide that I was

  731. gonna be this good Christian

  732. man, or this or something else.

  733. He said, I picked you.

  734. I wanted.

  735. This relationship with you,

  736. that's a pretty good thing.

  737. God, of all the universe, the savior

  738. of the world came along and he

  739. said, Marty, I want, I want you.

  740. And boy, I haven't been

  741. worth being wanted.

  742. And I don't know what on

  743. earth he ever saw in me,

  744. but he wanted me.

  745. And you're sitting here this

  746. morning and he wants you

  747. just that bad.

  748. He wants you.

  749. So this week, this whole season, as

  750. we think about love, and we think,

  751. obviously the whole world thinks about.

  752. How much God loves us.

  753. But I'd like to give you a

  754. little challenge as you go out

  755. through this whole season that

  756. everybody you come in contact with

  757. say, man, something about that guy.

  758. Something about that lady.

  759. They really love the Lord.

  760. The devil's doing everything

  761. he can to destroy God's plan.

  762. He had people killed at Brown University.

  763. He had 13 Jewish people over in Australia

  764. that were gunned down this morning.

  765. The world is

  766. being drawn to a point where

  767. they want to destroy God's plan.

  768. Either God's people will stand up and

  769. love him with all of their heart and all

  770. of their soul and all of their strength,

  771. and it will impact the world.

  772. Okay?

  773. Let's do what we can.

  774. Lord Jesus,

  775. we need to love you for all we're worth.

  776. And for some of us that seems

  777. to just happen real easily

  778. and for others, it seems like

  779. we don't even know how to love ourselves.

  780. So I pray that you would really,

  781. really impact us this season.

  782. So the world can see who, who you

  783. are and that they can see it in us.

  784. So there's something really

  785. physical to look at and know

  786. that you are real, that you are alive,

  787. helps us to be a living demonstration.

  788. And your name, we ask it.

  789. Amen.
