M Annie, It's sorry, m hm. So the title of today's message
-
is a new day, Let God's love arise, a new day, let
-
God's love arise. And if I mentioned the word it's a new day,
-
that means many different things. So if it might mean the sunset on a
-
day, it might mean the sunrising the day. For some people, it
-
might mean the start of a new job. It might mean the start of
-
going to university or finish university. We've all got different pictures in our minds.
-
If I say a new day, you're looking amative runs thing through because
-
we were thinking pictures. The general rug and I want us to consider this
-
morning the day Jesus woke knowing his time and earth had come to an end.
-
He's three years of ministry were done undusted, and he knew that that
-
day was the beginning of a new day for him. The Last Supper,
-
the Garden of gessemone his arrest, disappears before the high priests, before Pilot
-
is scourging his cruisi ficion, his death and his resurrection. And on that
-
day when he rose, he stood in the garden speaking to Mary Magdaline,
-
So do not touch me. Need to send to my father and your father.
-
That was a new day, and it's a day that changed history.
-
There's not been a day like it since the next day. I support like
-
it when he returns, when it comes again for a bride without spot or
-
wrinkle. H And that's where when they go today at the end. So
-
I need to cast your mind back now to when it was your new day.
-
When you move from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God,
-
everyone has a new day. Evan knows exactly where they were when another date
-
or the time you were you when you made that decision. He made that
-
transition from one life to another life. Colossians one thirteen to fourteen puts it
-
this way. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us
-
into the kingdom of the Son of his Love, in whom we have redemption
-
through his blood. The forgiveness of sins notices the Son of his Love and
-
redeemed through Jesus' blood. We're forgiven of our past. It's all done.
-
Do you remember that day. I remember that day, And if you're listen
-
today online, they haven't made that decision. This can be your day.
-
This can be on you day. Jesus. We believe that Jesus died for
-
us sin because he was sinless. We believed that he paid the price for
-
us, the sinless son of God, and that he rose again. Of
-
course he rose again. We have a new relationship with God through his blood,
-
through his sacrifice. And Romans ten nine says it this way that if
-
you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, believe in your heart that God
-
raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So just go confessing
-
and believing, I can Jesus come into your life. You do that right
-
now. When you do, drop us a message right a day with earlier
-
so we can pray for you. Don't miss this opportunity. When you do
-
that, you'll enter a new world. You'll be the same person on the
-
outside, but a different person on the inside. That's happened to everybody Flashings
-
two five to seventeen plus it this way. Therefore, anyone's in Christ.
-
He's a new creature or a new creation. All things have passed away.
-
Behold all things become you. And that's a special day in everyone's life,
-
in everyone's journey. But we need to move on, don't they. God
-
is a progressive God. He doesn't sit there like a bump on a log.
-
He doesn't sit there. He's got a plan on the purpose, and
-
he's always going, He's always moving. That's sort of God that he is.
-
So I want to have a look at the sort of key scripture this
-
morning, which is in Ephesians four, and it runs from verse thirteen through
-
to verse sixteen. And there's a lot in this number of verses. But
-
I'm not going to go through everything, because we can put the time to
-
go to everything. But I'm just going to pick out some key points I
-
thought they always wanted to show with us this morning. So I'll be reading
-
from the amplified Classic version of the Bible. I'm not sure when this is,
-
David, is that this amplifies. Yeah, so this is a newer
-
version, but I like the older version. So mates slight nu answers in
-
the scripture. Now, the Apostle Paul wrote this, s wait for the
-
wagons to come past is quite The Apostle Paul wrote this to the divisions,
-
and the precursor of what I'm going to read. He's talking about the five
-
hole ministry and the purpose to equipping the saints for ministry. We are saints
-
and we have to minister the good news to people. You'd have to wear
-
a dot collar. I'll go to Bible College. Well, that does help,
-
you know, you have a responsibility to share the good news, to
-
do the matter as a male or a female. I remember a guy's going
-
to heaven. Now, he was a preacher, and he had two boys
-
and one girl. And the boys weren't called to preach. The girl was,
-
you know, And that as far as you were concerned, that was
-
it. God's not looking at your whether the male or female you're looking at
-
whether you know, He's cord you to do that. So whether male or
-
feel doesn't matter. God's still got a personal plan for your life. You
-
pushed Sue into that plan doesn't matter. Right, So I'll read from verse
-
thirteen four Ahesians four, Verse thirteen. Until we all attain oneness in the
-
faith and in the comprehension of the full and accurate knowledge of the Son of
-
God, that we might arrive at reel at really mature manhood, the completeness
-
of personality, which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection,
-
the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ and the completeness found
-
in Him. So then we may no longer be children tossed like ships to
-
and fro between chance, gusts of teaching, and wavering with every changing wind
-
of doctrine, the prey of cunning and cleverness of unscrupulous men. Gamblers engage
-
in every shifting form of trickery, in inventing errors to mislead. Rather,
-
let our lives lovingly express truth in all things, speaking, truly, dealing,
-
truly, living, truly, enfolding or sorry unfolded in love. Let
-
us grow up in every way and in all things, into Him who is
-
the head, even Christ, the Messiah, the anointed One. That's what
-
Christ means. We didn't know. They didn't translate it properly. It actually
-
means anointed one. The Hebrew is Messiah anyway. But because of Him,
-
the whole body, the Church, in all its various parts, closely joined
-
and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied.
-
When each part, with the power of da Actor to its need, is
-
working properly in all its functions, grows to full maturity, building itself up
-
in love. That's a lot of scripture Fijians four thirteen to sixteen. That's
-
Paul speaking about the church. That's one of his greatest passions in life.
-
That was what drove him through his life after his Damascus experience, was to
-
build up the church. So it's going to draw three or four things from
-
the scripture and see what we can apply them to ourselves today and going forward.
-
So if we notice in Ephesians four thirteen, Paul talks about oneness in
-
the faith. Oneness in the faith can be translated unity. In fact,
-
you've got your violet may say. We look at the look in a concordance.
-
There's lots of different words you can drop in there and depend on how
-
you translate it. So we get this rich tapestry of different words dropped in
-
these different translations. But for today we're going with the Ampi five. It
-
says oneness in the faith, which can be transferred living in unity. So
-
as we enter twenty twenty two, I mean two more weeks left and we're
-
into January into February, to say it's it's moving. Let's ensure I ensure
-
as a people, as an individual, as a church member, whether it's
-
in this church or the church you go to. Because we're listening online and
-
we're going to stream this, let's ensure that we are in unity in the
-
faith. I remember that faith works by love Glatians five and verse six.
-
And God's love flows through us when we surrender a moment by moment to the
-
Holy Spirit. Have you disnilged you before? But I think I've been betther
-
to use it again. So if you've got sin and unfginness in your life,
-
it's like having a hosepipe with a kinkin. You know, you turn
-
the water on. What if you're watching your garden or you're washing something down
-
and there's a little bit of drip comes out of the hosepipe. So the
-
thing to do is not to look at it like that. It is to
-
look down the hosepipe and then take out the king. We take out the
-
kink, the water pressure will be released and the water will flow. And
-
sometimes when people got sin in their life, it's like a block in the
-
hose pipe, and God's love cannot flow out to those people around us.
-
You know, we'll be out here on the first load if we weren't here
-
to add value. We're supposed to be lights to a world which is in
-
darkness, and we do live in quite a dark world. So as we
-
let God's love flow through us, as we walk together in unity as a
-
body of believers, people's lives are changed. People cannot deny what they see
-
a verse number of times. Why are you so different? Why don't you
-
swear? Why don't you do this? Why do that? People notice a
-
difference. And God wants us to be in nurtures a body so that love
-
flows and that light shines. For it takes moment by moments surrender to the
-
Holy Spirit. It's interesting Galatians five twenty two says, but the fruit of
-
the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
-
benevolence, faithors so controlled, et cetera. The person knows his love the
-
fruit of the spirit. So the trends of Holy Spirit within you manifest God's
-
love. And that's where that's the that's where God wants us to be today.
-
That's that's what we started talking around. So I think that's the first
-
thing has been one us in the faith, which we're going to be one
-
us in the faith. When we walking in faith, we surrendered to the
-
Holy spa and letting God's love flow through us. It's just how that thought.
-
We're gonna be going to build some some more on this. It's might
-
seem with it out there right now, but we'll get there. In Ephesians
-
four, verse thirteen, he talks about at really mature manhood. M at
-
really mature manhood. Now that's hues. Generically, it can be in a
-
group of men, I can be a group of women. So manhood means
-
either male or female. You know, it's not just how it was translated.
-
So when we're mature, both men and women, we're in God's perfect
-
love love or agathe, and God wants us to walk and to release his
-
love through allies by the hole this, but those people around us. So
-
I guess a quick question for us all this, are we walking in love?
-
Are we so full of him? It's our lives so surrendered that his
-
love is pervading us and pervading and coming in touch other people's lives. I'm
-
reminded of John fifteen and verse ten. But it says, if you keep
-
my commandments, you will abide in my love, just said blood due.
-
If you keep my commandments, you'll abide in my love. Just ad love.
-
I just have kept my father's commandments and abiding his love is the right
-
translation. So notice, Jesus says the disciples, if you keep my commandments,
-
you'll abide in my love. Abide or live, remain Dwell, you
-
can use different words in my love. Just so I've kept my father's commandments
-
and abide in his love. And he said in John ten and verse twelve,
-
this is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved June.
-
And what did he say when he was asked what the great what's the
-
greatest commandment? Matthew twenty two thirty six thirty seven Love the Lord, your
-
God with all your heart, so in mind. And the second one,
-
it's love your neighbor as yourself. So one John, Oh, God is
-
love. So we have this, We have this like mission statement running through
-
like a piece of rocket. You go to the seaside where it says,
-
it says black pool, it says tobey, wherever it says in God's kingdom,
-
the common denominator is love. Well, it's in us as individuals or
-
as a body, it's love. M hm hm hm hm h m hm.
-
So continuing, let's look at Ephesians four Versus fourteen and fifteen, where
-
it talks about our lives. It will express the truth in love. Our
-
lives will express the truth in loves. Or to put it another way,
-
I just touched us already. Our lives will exude or drip God's love.
-
You know, when you're fuller something, it starts to come out, isn't
-
it? Possibly not a good analogy. But sometimes when people have been for
-
a meal a curry and they sweat, you can smell the spices that come
-
out of the body. You know, I don't notice that it's not very
-
nice analogy. That's the one that came to mind. They've eaten and that's
-
coming out. God wants us to pervade his love. He wants to pray
-
his love. You know, we've got to be in God's love to give
-
out God's love. We've got to be in his presence to release his presence.
-
And that's what God wants us to considered this morning, as we as
-
we as we continue in this new year, where are we in that journey?
-
Mhm? Because it is a journey. Do you carry his presence?
-
Do you carry his presence? I've got my water bottle here for those who
-
are listing and can't see it's one of those water bottles. We've got the
-
thing you push. Pushed the top down to that to stop the water coming
-
out. And if I did it and then turn that way, nothing comes
-
out. If I opened the top, I'm not going to do it too
-
upside down. The water was shoe. If I just squeeze it, it
-
will shoot all over. Rachel was sitting about three or four meters in front
-
of me. If this is us on the water of the presence of the
-
Holy Spirit to get it out, there's got to be some movement. I
-
squeezed that, and I don't know what's going to go everywhere. Squeeze it
-
since it's gonna come out. We need to be in that position where we
-
allow the hose bit to work through us to share that love. You walking
-
down the street, go and speak to that person. Well, if there's
-
a normal time, you're at the tea and coffee area of the breakout here,
-
go and speak to that person. Or in the supermarket, go and
-
speak to that person. One work from God can change some of his life.
-
Or rather, don't said that. I said that. Now it's true.
-
It is true. So God wants us to be his agents, his
-
agents of love. Sharing God's love. M love can break down the barrier
-
that nothing else can do. So he wants us to reframe our thinking as
-
we as we as we continue into twenty twenty two around love. I just,
-
I just, I just badly quoted John fifteen and Verse ten about if
-
you keep my commandments, walk in love as I've kept my father and I
-
walked in love that I just wanted to do. Love has got to be
-
number one this year. It will underpin everything. I think we built on
-
God's lave. And it's a lifestyle. It's not something you just switch on
-
and off. Home. I'm going to churt today. I'll put my best
-
jeans on and I've got my big Bible, and you know I've got a
-
hirts hanging the exube God's love. It doesn't you don't switch on and off.
-
It's a lifestyle and it's for that daily contact. Anyway, Moving on,
-
where are we? So? Verse sixteen talks about growing to full maturity,
-
growing to full maturity, building ourselves up in love. So we only
-
grow to full maturity when walking in the spirit. I'm sure I've all had
-
or you've got a family members the family. You've got the little child who's
-
just starting to walk, and you know, the the tent to toddle,
-
you know, very book warbbly on their feet. And then there's the time
-
when you can't catch them because they just go bang and you've got to be
-
up to them before they were raised out of the or race down the road.
-
And then then they grow up and they started watching more slowly and then
-
they side. You've got to come on for you. You know, I
-
don't only walk with you. You know you're not cool. And then they
-
come to maturity when they walk with you, and then and they support you
-
and you have a different sort of relationship. It's that with us. With
-
God. You know he has a baby. Come on, come on,
-
you get a lot of attention as you grow up. You expected to read
-
the word, You expect her to pray, you expect to know the way,
-
you expect to have a relationship with him. We wouldn't change an eighteen
-
year old and ape and but they're botted in front of them just be she
-
wouldn't be done. If we did that, people say what on earth are
-
you doing? And God expects us to grow into the film maturity of a
-
son and daughter of God. And to walk in the spirit in all things,
-
particularly in love. It's so important to operate in God love aporate this
-
way One Corinthians thirteen one to thirteen. Though I speak with the terms of
-
men and of angels, but have not love, I become a sounding brass
-
or a clanging symbol. And now I have the gift of prophecy, understand
-
all mysteries and all knowledge. And though I have all faith, so I
-
can move mountains, but I have not love and nothing. And though I
-
bestow all my gifts to all my goods to feed the poor. And though
-
I give my body to be burned, but have not loved, it profits
-
me nothing. He was speaking out of experience there, because he had learned
-
the hard way about this. Just need to read the New Testament and Bore's
-
life. You'll see he'd learned by experiences, as experienced talking experience through revelation.
-
You know, he spent seven years in Arabia in the world before they
-
release him too, men stream, So we need to grow to that full
-
maturity building ourselves. I've in love with that daily communion, abiding me and
-
all abiding you, living me, and I live in you. John fifteen.
-
But it all comes down to our love walk. How are we operating
-
in love? Are we allowing the Holy Spirit's love to flow through us?
-
Are we watching what we say? Are we watching about forgiving people? I'm
-
not so I'll deal with him later. We are we are we keeping short
-
accounts with people? Are choosing to forgive and let it go, do yourself
-
a failor and let it go, Or we're choosing to retain something so God
-
Love can't flow through us. There's not a lot of time left on this
-
this earth. I don't how long it is for it in a long time,
-
m hm. And we need to be going about our father's business.
-
We need to walk in in that love. He's vital, I would say,
-
hm m h, m hm mh. Remember, faith comes by hearing
-
and hearing by the word of God. So we need to hear the way
-
that God preached like this, so mature into the fullness that God has for
-
us with the help of the Holy Spirit. As we do, we'll mature
-
into a body walking in love and were known as a body who walks in
-
love. People. People know what what's fake and what's real. They're pretty
-
good at that sort of thing. In nowadays, you know, so people
-
can see when you're when you're genuine about you're about our love. And you
-
can't fake God's love. It is He does things which people don't understand.
-
One John four, verse six sixteen puts it this way. And we know,
-
understand, recognize, and are conscious of by observation and experience, and
-
believe a deer to put faith in and rely on the love God cherishes for
-
us. God is Love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells
-
and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in Him. In this
-
union and communion with him, Love is brought to completion, attains perfection with
-
us, that we may have confidence in the day of justment. As He
-
is in the world, so are we. It's just man paraphrase the notice.
-
But he who dwells and continues in love and we are he who dwells
-
and continues is God. Because God is Love. So he dwells and continues
-
in Love, dwells and contains in God and continues in God. And God
-
dwells and continues in Him. In this union and communion I talked about John
-
fifteen before. In this Union and communitis abiding in Him, abiding me,
-
and are abiding you? Living me? And how living you? Depending the
-
translation, you can flip the word love is brought to completion and attains perfection.
-
God wants us to stretch too, this love that is brought to completion
-
and attains perfection in our lives. It's not going to happen all at once,
-
because you know we're on the journey, but we have to stretch too,
-
walking in this completion of His love that attains perfection in us, not
-
only individually but corporately. So if you're listening to this today and you know
-
you don't and this fellowship, that doesn't matter. It's it's about as a
-
individual is visual believer, and corporately as a body. Whether that's a body
-
of people in one denomination or many dominations, it doesn't matter. The idea,
-
the God's idea. God's plan was that everybody, everybody is brought to
-
completion and attains perfection in His love. That's the church, the body denomination,
-
not small big fellowship spectorates that make the difference. It's about everybody being
-
brought to completion, the tame perfection in love. And that's the challenge that
-
that has for us to align ourselves with His word such that we do exactly
-
that. So that's a challenge for this year is to walk in the law
-
of God. But also you can't do that without having the commune and the
-
union piece. There's two pieces of the walking in that and the manifestation of
-
that walking is because of the union communion. You can't give what you haven't
-
got. You can't share what you haven't got. Haven't we don't possess.
-
It's the love of God. It's impartant to us. Through the Holy spread,
-
we grow more like Him than all we spent time with him. M
-
hmm, that's right. Said I like this first John for verse sixteen.
-
In this union and communion with him, love is brought to completion of the
-
tages perfection. It's only with that union and communion that love is brought to
-
completion the taines perfection Without that, and Jesus put it in John fifteen,
-
if you're not connected, chop you off and the branches throw into the fire.
-
We've got to be rooted in. So are you rooted in? It's
-
a rhetorical question. Don't let the answers. Are you rooted him? Consider
-
it? You know, consider where you are, consider what you need to
-
do, what I justice, you need to make so you can be a
-
blessing to God. God's really proud of you. But you know, like
-
a parented pride of their kids. But let's be a blessing to God by
-
sharing his love. Mhm h. For God to love the world. He
-
gave his only something never believed in him shall not perish. I have everlasting
-
life. Time is short. We need to focus on the union and communion.
-
We need to focus on our part. It's in this part now,
-
it's our part. So I have to think about what I said, So
-
sits with you in your spirits. There the host bit of same to you.
-
We have to judge things, have to weigh things, and maybe just
-
as you need to make, she can fulfill God's call and God's purpose on
-
your life. You can't do without walking in love because everything stems troum love.
-
Let's living there. That's quit. That's a quick pray on behind that
-
today. Well, there's a love revelation in these scriptures, and I've just
-
skated over at the top of it because of the time. I pray Lord
-
that you expound this this truth to all of us. Lord in Jesus name,
-
so that we do grow into the full stature for Christ, and we
-
do live in that union and communion with you every day. Amen. Thank
-
you, Simon not God's love arise,
