Going to come and share with us. We're in our series of looking at
-
giving more than. Let me pray for Simon that he's going to come and
-
share. Father. We pray that our Lord, we say that our hearts
-
are open, our ears are ready to hear. Father. Would you speak
-
to us, whether we're watching later, whether watching now online, whether we're
-
in the room, Lord, are is open our hearts already? And Father,
-
I thank you that Lord Simon has spent time, in your word,
-
spent time with you. Father. Would you anoint him to bring that which
-
you've caused him to bring today? Father, would you speak to him and
-
to us through him? We pray in Jesus Mighty name, Amen, Simon
-
m m my name running m hm. So following on with the theme giving
-
more than the title that the floor game was living in the overflow. Yeah,
-
I'm now gonna start by talking about cars, because it's pertinent one of
-
our one of our friends once put diesel in her petrol car. Now,
-
although that this is the different nozzles, so you're not supposed to put the
-
diesel is not supposed to fit in the petrol car, she might surely get
-
the nozzle in her Reno five clear. I remember the discussions when she was
-
asked what's in her tank? I she said diesel, and the response to
-
a player the petrol car. Yes, and it costs a lot of money
-
to get the tank pumped out and then the engine cleaned. It's just put
-
petrol back in, and I will tell what nickname you after that. She
-
had a nickname after that which rises around with diesel. But it's not unusual
-
for people to put the wrong fuel in their tanks. It does happen,
-
and we want to talk about what's now a tank today? Join that analogy,
-
what's in our tank? Spiritually speaking, or to put another way,
-
I was living in the overflow. Foundational scripture is John ten ten. The
-
last part of John ten ten, the amplified version, which says, and
-
then a habit in abundance to the full, to the overflows, or if
-
you could take it back into the next sentence, I came that they might
-
have life, might have an enjoy life, sorry, and having abundance till
-
it overflows. Jesus came that we might have life and have it in abundance
-
till it overflows. The word life there is translated from the word zoe.
-
You get the name zoo Zozo, which means life funnily enough. But life
-
is not man made, it's God given life. Life is God given,
-
and God is alive. And when we overflow, we overflow with His life.
-
So I have a look this morning what means to us and to those
-
around us? Luke six and verse forty five in the amplifi version says,
-
we're out of the abundance or the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.
-
Out of the abundance or the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.
-
The full verse says, I'm written from the amplified. The upright,
-
honorable or intrinsically good man, out of the good treasure stored in his heart,
-
produces what is upright, honorable and intrinsically good. And the evil man,
-
out of the evil stored evil store house, brings forth out which is
-
depraved, wicked, and intrinsically evil. But out of the abundance, the
-
overflow of the heart, his mouth speaks. We could say it this way.
-
Our heart is our tank, and what comes out of our heart flows
-
in abundance. Either he's a technical word, turned out good stuff or bad
-
stuff. And what stuff we're put in there in the natural, we go
-
to the petrol stage. We've got a car, and you you refuel.
-
It's still we're plugging our cards into a wall charge you won't we But by
-
the way, right now, most of us go to the petrol station and
-
we refuel without the petrol or diesel. When we consider our hearts, the
-
Bible, Bible tells us wherever we give our attention to is where our heart
-
will be. Wherever we give our attention to is where our hearts will be.
-
Products four twenty through twenty three. Put it this way, and I'll
-
emphasize some of the words, just to change the way if we read it,
-
My son, give attention to my words. Incline your ear to my
-
sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes. Keep them in the
-
midst of your heart. For their life to those who find them, and
-
health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out
-
of its springs the issues of life. Notice that I emphasize my words,
-
my sayings them. I'm just reading it through without that emphasis. These are
-
God's words that the righteous talking about. Give attention to His words, to
-
his sayings for their life and their health. Keep your heart with all diligence
-
for out of its flows or springs issues of life. So if I hearted
-
our tank in today's analogy, when we've got words God's words in our life,
-
springs or so, I guess the question is what are we giving our
-
attention to? What are we giving our attention to, and what are we
-
filling our tanks with? Because that is what's going to come out of our
-
mouths, either the good stuff or the bad stuff. For example, these
-
smartphones are very useful, but sometimes we can fill ourselves with too much content
-
from these rather than the word. Sometimes we can fill ourselves with fear,
-
with worry, with doubt, with care, with anxiety by all things that
-
around us or what's going in our lives. So let's say we take the
-
mask off today and would be real. You know what we are. We've
-
come to church. We all challenges. No, there's nobody he hasn't got
-
a challenge of some sort. And how we react to that challenge depends on
-
whether you get a victory in that area or not. What I mean by
-
that as where we overcome that challenge successfully with the word of God from my
-
phone, with the word of God or struggling through with anxiety and fear and
-
worry and all that sort of stuff, or that just me. We all
-
challenges, don't we. You can see a very very nice smile on our
-
face, you know, well, I'm going to send you best on and
-
look nice from the outside, But inside it can be struggling to be challenged,
-
can't we. So it's time to get the mask off today and just
-
nook chatting about this. These things I talked about don't give life. Only
-
one thing. One person gives life, and that's God. And God is
-
his word art synonymous for the same, and he wants us to be so
-
full of his words, so full of his life, that we don't live
-
with these challenges or live. Since we react to these challenges in that certain
-
way, we're already to have challenges. But it's how we react to those
-
challenges, whether we successful or not, and how we act to those challenges,
-
and how people see us acting those challenges can impact their life. So
-
that's my introduction. So I just want to touch base on some key blockers
-
to living in the overflow and look at how we can address those. Not
-
many, but either be all day. I suppose the key or the one
-
of the primary blockers to live in the overflow to living successfully and to being
-
a blessing is unforgiveness. In forgiveness is a real blocker because it hardens your
-
heart. If a heart's a heart, then become in effective. If you
-
read Mark four, I think it's from I just moved some scriptures around.
-
When Jesus explains a parable verse thirteen onwards, he explains that the ground is
-
the heart. It goes through various permittations. Not going to do that at
-
the time, but read that scripture. You've notice that depend on the condition
-
of your heart. It depending on the harvest that is you get. But
-
when we walk in on forgiveness forever reason we limit God. That's why Proverbs
-
follow tells us to keep and guard our hearts with our diligence, because that's
-
where the abundance of life flows. So when someone tries to mess you up,
-
or play with the head, or try to put into unforgiveness, we
-
can just say no. We have a choice about what we say and what
-
we do. Choices are tough things. Choices are tough things. We have
-
a choice, but we need to make that choice otherwise we get locked up.
-
Some people get locked up for years, get bitter, and get twisted.
-
Unforgiveness is progressive. It goes from being a bit hard to being a
-
bit bitter to being a bit twisted. It doesn't do the personally good.
-
It doesn't do the people they know any good. It's toxic. Really.
-
That's why Jesus said in Mark eleven through to twenty six, excuse me,
-
whenever you stand praying for anything, if you have anything, if you have
-
anything against anyone, that's quite inclusive, forgive him or forgive her. That
-
your father in heaven may also forgive you your trespassers. If you do not
-
forgive, neither will your father in heaven give you your trespassers if you do
-
not forgive. This is basic stuff, but you know, we start with
-
the foundational stuff. Because you keep, you keep. You need to keep
-
looking at stuff again and again and again to makes you don't miss it.
-
Sometimes you can get lost for the wood, for the trees, the simple
-
stuff you can walk into understudy towe. But it's so obvious. M hm.
-
So the key takeaway here is choose to forgive or one lady said,
-
do yourself a favor forgive. Mm hmmm. That was office for somebody here
-
listening later or watching on the street. So if you're getting feeling uncomfortable,
-
sorry, but obviously God wants to deal with that area. So the second
-
area we want to touch based on is worries and cares. Worries and cares,
-
I will ask for a show of hands who has had day worry or
-
who has had day care, because I would suggest it's probably most of us
-
in this room and most of them listening to it. Mm hmm. That's
-
why there's lots of stuff in the Bible about how to deal with it so
-
that we can live a successful Christian life. When you get born again,
-
you just don't because they're not that little switch that gets clicked and he goes,
-
oh everything's easy, now, off you go. Let's skip over the
-
daisies and all that sort of stuff. It doesn't work like that. That's
-
always challenges to face, but we need to face them by faith in the
-
Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us. And because
-
he gave, and so forwards, we can live in the overflow. We
-
can live in abundance. We can live in the blessing, which means you
-
can apply the principles in this word, and not have to walk around in
-
fear, not have to walk around in worry, do not have to deal
-
with cares. If we apply the principles in the Word of God, we
-
will succeed. That's why he wants us to walk in the overflow and the
-
over off his word, because we got we've got no word, you've got
-
no faith, you've got no power, you cannot overcome. I'm quite frankly,
-
if somebody walk down the street, I've got fear, I've got worry,
-
I've got doubt. You're Christian? Yeah, okay, bye. If
-
they said, if they said, I've got no worry, I've got no
-
fear. I'm a Christian. I'm interested. I'm interested what I want,
-
what you've got. I don't you fear, I don't you worry, don't
-
you down. I'm I'm interested. Got out myself. Thanks. Mark four
-
says, and now this verse eighteen first foot. Now these are the ones
-
sowing among phones. They're the ones who hear the Word, and the cares
-
of this world for the sevenings of riches and the desire for the things entering
-
him choke the word and it becomes unfruitful. So the cares of the world
-
can choke the word of God in our heart and we can become unfruitful.
-
That's why we've got to keep We've got to guard our heart. Louis in
-
a mess with a catal m. We've got a choice whether to take that
-
care and say it or to say no. They want not care. I
-
remember the story a person I never told me when I was having trouble with
-
thoughts, and he went to that, So how do I how to deal
-
with this? And God said, just do what you do to me?
-
He said, what is that to do to me? I actually do something?
-
You ignore me? Just do that mean? Look, when you say
-
no, just say no to the thought. You say no to me sometimes,
-
so I just say no to the thought. He went, oh,
-
right, okay, those are something behind that to him, that's a different
-
conversation they're going on. But he said, just say no. As you
-
say no to me, you can say no to the thought. So just
-
say no, no in Jesus name, no that. I'm not doing that
-
now, thank you. I'm doing something else. What you said that wasn't
-
being by the words something I knew then I mentioned their name for obvious reasons.
-
You would not appreciate it. Jesus said, peace. I'll leave with
-
you a peace. I give it to you. What of the world gives
-
to our give to you. Let not your heart be troubled you just let
-
it be afraid, and then you can change version. Notice, let not
-
your heart be troubled, you let it be afraid. So the an mempherson
-
here of our responsibility to deal with stuff, not to wring our hands and
-
think what we're going to do. Jud just said, all authority and power
-
given to you in my name, go were hands in a sick, raise
-
a dead, etcetera, etcetera, cetera. We've been given authority, We've
-
given power. It's about time to start using, isn't it Or isn't it
-
Sorry? What did Paul saying? Phlippians for verse six, do not fret
-
or have an anxiety about anything. Do not thret I have an anxiety about
-
anything. To me, any thing is anything. So why do we do
-
it? But in every circumstance and in everything that seems to cover everything,
-
by prayer and petition, definite requests with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants
-
known to God, and the peace of God shall be yours. The peace
-
of God shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its
-
salvation through Christ and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its fillot.
-
Where So all that is that piece which transcends all understanding. God's peace
-
is big. You can't put God in the box. God is everywhere and
-
his peace is everywhere. That's why it transcends all understanding. So GUIDs and
-
amount God, over your hearts and mind our mine. Sorry in Christ,
-
you notice over your hearts and mind. We have a heart, we have
-
a mind. In's a case of putting these scriptures into practice so that we
-
win. We're the back of the book. We win anyway, either back
-
of book Revelations says we win or that's my translation of revelation that we win,
-
but we win at the end. We need to win. Now.
-
Every day we need to win. Every day is a battle. Every day
-
is a challenge. Every day we need to win. So the top about
-
them forgiveness we've talked about cares all that sort of stuff. As a worry
-
can run into sort of mental health sort of issues. That's why God's work
-
is very clear. Don't worry, don't have care, cast your care onto
-
me because I care for you. So what do we do? I'm okay,
-
God, Yeah, I can hope. Mhm. It's not about coping.
-
It's about living the way God intended us. Because the widest to live
-
a certain way that's worry free, fear free, angers are for free and
-
very much forgiveness three sorry, unforgiveness free, shames for repurset h So last
-
one of the famous three, not the famous five, but the famous three
-
is fear. Fear is really the pits. God's work is. God's word
-
is full of faith, and fear and faith just do not work together.
-
It's like oil and water. They're mixed. That's why I paused to Timothy
-
it was a spiritual boy. God doesn't give us a spirit of fear,
-
but the spirit of power, love and as our mind. God has not
-
given us. God has not given as. God has not given us.
-
If God has not given us a spirit of fear, right, where does
-
it come from? He does not come from God? Is it? Read
-
that? And we can rock it off quite quickly? Can't way that he
-
actually break it down into his constituent parts. God has not given us a
-
spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
-
So we walk in power, we walk in love, and we have a
-
sound mind. That's where he wants us to be. And that's a fear
-
as a blocker for walking in the overflow, for living in the overflow.
-
About the title of the message, So let's talk about the sweet spot,
-
shall we where we should be. Let's talk about his love, his peace,
-
and let's talk about his joy. One Corinthians thirteen Dave, thank you.
-
An IV version or through a puts it this way talking about God's love.
-
To clarify, God's love is patient. Love is kind. It does
-
not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud, it does
-
not dishonor others. It's not self seeking. It's not easily angered. It
-
keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil. That's God's
-
love, but rejoices with the truth. God's love always protects, always trusts,
-
always homes, always per severes. God's love never fails. God's love
-
never fails. So God's love, lizziness, God's love should flow through us.
-
What's it John thirteen thirty four. And you can't to give you?
-
That should love another? That's I love you and you can't I give you
-
that you should love one another. You just give us a commandment. It
-
wasn't a that's off a strange color. It wasn't an option. You know,
-
you go for you neither could go for a couple of cop of don
-
and they can have this milk or that milk and have a half that's going
-
to half that and they get this drink. Not tough anymore, is it?
-
You know? It's like, I really don't know. Yeah. God
-
didn't say, Oh, by the way, guys, this is one of
-
the options. List here take this one. He said, this is a
-
commandment that means you shall do this. You know. Yeah, So with
-
the Holy Spirit working through as you can love me, but you can't last
-
on't lovable, that's ridiculous. But with God's love in you you can do
-
so. We can't do anything with a separate from God. That's why He
-
lives within us. That's the hope ethos of the Christian faith, isn't it.
-
God lives in you and He lives through you. That's all the Book
-
of Colustions is about. My body is life, so God lives through us.
-
She can't do without God. But when you connect it to the source.
-
I'll go back to my plugging your carry into the socket analogy. And
-
you plug your car and you get the Jews, don't you bils your bash
-
up in what eight hours? But you know when you plug into the Holy
-
Spirit, his love flows through you, and that's the sweet spot walking in
-
his love. That's where he wants us to be. That's an everyday choice
-
to do that. And like I said, it's not an optional, isn't.
-
And his love with only master to our lives, manifest through our lives
-
when we're not walking in on the forgiveness because our heart is hard. A
-
hard heart is a big learner. A herd heart doesn't get us anywhere.
-
Fear, worry, anxiety, stress does it get us anywhere because the love
-
of God will not flow. He can get choked by all that stuff,
-
the bad stuff. But rather than it's allow the word of God to fill
-
our hearts, allow the Holy Spirit to work with us, or to partner
-
us. I want to put it and to be a conduit of that love
-
around us. I thought was on the feature word than money when it was
-
there? What were the titles this king of obs? So give him more
-
thoughts? Gonna speak on money. But then and then we can talk about
-
from the overflow. I thought, Okay, we need to be connected,
-
we need to be have a soft heart. My heart needs to be in
-
the right place to allow that love to flow. That's a sweet spot for
-
that. That's one of his sweet spots because then you can speak to people
-
and they go, what is it with you? Mate? We're going through
-
all the same stuff and you're different. What's what is it? People want
-
to know. That's a bit of like, tell me about this. If
-
you're going I don't know what am I going to do? They go,
-
well, is everybody else? That was love? Peace? John fourteen twenty
-
seven amplified, which is a bit more substance to that scripture read earlier.
-
Peace. I'll leave with you my own peace, my own peace, which
-
is Jesus speaking my own peace I give to you. Do you see Jesus
-
ever a stressed Oh what I'm going to do? Guy? No, you
-
might to think about something. When he had when the ad about the lady
-
of the adultree, he drew on the ground, went into the Holy Spirit,
-
and when the Holy Spirit spoke to him, the God Upend said him,
-
we've got no sin. Cast the first tone. They went, well,
-
that's deep man, and they all went off one by one, and
-
so she was left by herself. Jesus, what by the Holy Spirit too?
-
You had to hear it too. But he gave us his peace.
-
Not as the world gives, do I give to you? Is some one
-
of our pay abits. Do not let your heart be troubled. So that's
-
talking to us, isn't it. Do not let your heart be troubled.
-
He's let it be afraid, So don't be troubled. Don't be afraid.
-
So what do we do when something happens? What's the default set in?
-
Sometimes? Oh? What we're going to do? Ah? What was that?
-
Just me mm hmmmmm. Stop stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed.
-
Interesting, stop allowing yourselves to agitated and disturbed seeing people in around.
-
What we're going to do? Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed.
-
Do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and kardly then settled. So
-
it's our responsibility to deal with that, and we deal with it. No,
-
I'm not going to do that, but that I know, No that
-
I'm not going to do that. Just say no, and then ask God
-
to help put your put your word in it, put your work in your
-
mouth. But they want have given me a spirit of fear, but the
-
spirit of power, the spirit of love, and spirit of a sound mind.
-
Therefore I'm not going to fear today, Thank you very much. No
-
no, no, no, no, no, new clim It tends to
-
work when you're saying that His peace is shalom, not to missing, nothing
-
broken, And that's the sweet spot where he wants us to walk more as
-
are here today's shift, but moreen You know, was given testing about walking
-
in peace, people walking baster desk when she used to go to work,
-
and it's like, oh, it's very very peaceful here because she learned how
-
to work in peace. You don't just go from here to here. There's
-
a journey, but the faith walk on for a better description, is a
-
journey. You've got to learn how to do something. You've got to learn
-
how to maintain something. It's that these people who are going to diet,
-
they're like this and they go down to this and it's diet of the same
-
pod. They're going to go to this again. It's like, oh,
-
oh, what happened. We've got a revelation for you. If you keep
-
stuff in your mouth, you're gonna get big. If you balance your diet
-
just an exercise, you're going to be a thing. But some people just
-
do that. M You know, that's a revelation for some people. The
-
revelation for us too. We've got to be consistent. If we're consistent doing
-
the right things, we're gonna get the same results. Because if you stuck
-
your face, then you're gonna get back. If you consider stuff your face,
-
you're gonna get fat. You know, doesn't matter who you are,
-
just this just happens. You know, I'm not looking about in the room.
-
By the way, notice you know where that came from? What's on
-
my notes' ecops? So last week spot is joy near my eight and verse
-
ten says the joy of the Lord is our strength. The joy of the
-
Lord is our strength. So when we're going through stuff, do we go
-
hall, do you the joy of the Lord is our strength? Or do
-
we do? What am I going to do? You know what am I
-
going to do? You know? Joy is infectious. Have you have you
-
seen that before? I've been a meeting where there's like a wave of God's
-
joy goes across the the people. One little woman gets someone around eye is
-
and she've got joy, and then it just hits the whole, the whole
-
people in the meeting, and everyone's got joy. The of the spait of
-
God moves across the meeting. Election Spike only two says, the fruit of
-
the spirit, or the work which his presence within accomplishers, is love,
-
joy dot dot dot dot dot. Notice the work which his presence accomplishes,
-
the work of the Holy Spirit, presence of compiers is love, is joy,
-
it's peace. So when you're full of Him, when you're full of
-
the word if God, that's what comes out. That's the sweet spot where
-
God answers to be because that's going to make difference only to us. I
-
mean, Gosh, to live in peace, to the full of joy,
-
to walk in does log where else you want to be? M you know,
-
where else do you want to be? There's still stuff to go Still,
-
stuff goes on, but you approach it differently from a different perspective when
-
you're walking with God. M hm. I remember again quote of this.
-
It was it was, it was. It was talking about Jesus to his
-
neighbor, and the scipt says behold on a load of flesh, the Lord
-
beholding the Lord of old flesh, and anything too half for me. There's
-
having trouble this stuff around his house and then you want, you know it
-
cut himself, his blood running down his arm to come out from the side
-
of his house. His name says okay, mate, and he goes,
-
oh yeah, behold nothing to do up from God. And you think about
-
from this, this, this, this, and this. You know,
-
he was wasn't in the right place. Knew the scripture, but he didn't
-
approach it correctly. He was thinking, oh, I can't do this,
-
and a got with the problem and the guy helps him sort some problems out
-
on I'm trying to say, is our mind set where we think we are?
-
The Word says one thing, I might say something else. That's when
-
I put the word of God in here. It goes into our heart and
-
it comes up into our mind. We have a we are spirit, have
-
a soul living the body, you know, et cetera, et cetera,
-
et cetera. The word of God goes into our heart and it percolates up
-
here. You've got to know what the Word of God says. You've got
-
to move so you've got to put it in there. You've got to fill
-
your tank with it. You've got to let it permeate through there so when
-
you come to a situation you can you can deal with it. Otherwise you
-
just thought, you know, where's the Bible? What we're going to do
-
if you can't go and look at those the scriptures? When when all hell's
-
kicking off, or the big issue around you, there's some family issue,
-
or you know, your kids will You've got to be able to be ready.
-
H. You've got to be a read day. If you're not ready,
-
you're relying on God's grace and you know He's not going to burk you
-
and change an apple when you're eighteen and said, or when you're forte you

know you are if your if your kid came down and said, mom,
-
can if you address me? You know my mom? Can you make me
-
a drink? Mom? You know? And then in the twenties you're going
-
to say, can't dress yourself. We have a responsibility all the same,
-
HM, you have a responsibility. H. Lipping's Forefod says, rejoicing the
-
lot always again, I say rejoice. You know some days we can wake
-
up with a song in our heart and that that song carries through the day
-
or that just me. You know that there's there's there's there's anointing on that

-
help in your mouth. You gotta start rejoicing and start rejoicing. He starts
-
working and that presence of God comes on you, and that joy comes on

saying to us, as we give out more, he'll give us more.
-
Or to put it another way, as we give out, he will pour
-
into us, so that we overflow to those people around us. That may
-
be his peace, that may be his joy, that may be his love,
-
but that's where he wants us to be he wants to live. He
-
wants us to live in the sweet spot, which is living the overflow.
-
He wants to partner with him. So everybody you know influence is affected.
-
It's a simple a proposition, but it works. So let's make sure that
-
our hearts are our tanks, our followed the word of God. Let's cooperate
-
with the Holy Spirit and watch him change those people around us. Let's be
-
giving more than Let's live in the overflow every day. Okay,
