Money. M hm. So this is the last of the series on fundamentals.
-
I wasn't supposed to preaching this series. It was spoken for somebody else,
-
but there you go. Anyway I am, and we're going to talk
-
about the fundamentals of faith. And before I go into going into the details
-
of that, I just want to give a bit of a introduction. When
-
we hear God's words preached and when we hear God's word taught, God can
-
speak to us in a service, something that we've heard or read and birth
-
times can just jump off a page or become alive to us front a better
-
description, and then that something, wherever it is, becomes real to us.
-
It's not just what that person is saying or what you're reading. As
-
a changing dynamic has experienced that you can put your hand up with audience participation,
-
and that's what God has to do today. He wants to take what
-
we've prepared here and make it real to you. Otherwise it just becomes words.
-
And sometimes people are getting mixed up and muddled with words, and it
-
takes something which is a godly principle and try to apply it without the right
-
understanding, and it causes problems because you don't have the understanding, you don't
-
know how to do it. But God gives us the understanding. So God,
-
so what's going to do is to take what's going to give today and
-
listen. If you don't get what he wants you to get in the service,
-
take it home and read it and pray over it and get your understanding
-
of what God wants you to do. Now, we're all at different places
-
in our development as Christians. But let God meet you where you are at.
-
Okay, I don't have to say that, but that's what I just
-
thought I should say. So it's about engaging and taking what God has for
-
you, Okay, and then you've got what God has, but nothing can
-
take that away from you. When you've got something, you've got it.
-
When I was a kid, and I've got a memory of learning how to
-
tie my shoelaces, it's just a parallel. And I remember being told,
-
you met these two hoops, and the bunny goes down this hoop, and
-
it goes round and it comes up to the side, and there you go.
-
I remember my grandmother, my mother's mother, watching me tie my shoelaces.
-
Kid. I must have been about three or four or something wherever it
-
was. I remember trying to tie his shoelace and yeah, it was very
-
big bose, you know, not a nice tider, but one was longer
-
than I think. Am I going to get this sort of thing? And
-
then it clicked and I was done. Now I can time my shoe life
-
like most other people can't suppose wherever the conversation on the phone or you're a
-
spot to out of your eyes closed and do it your sleep, And that's
-
just sort of a parallel to you get it and you move forward with the
-
understanding that you've got. And that's what going to do today. Wants us
-
to get what you're saying to us individually. It might be that the man
-
sets you're the latest, oping you might get something different from you're going to
-
get. The thing is you just get what God has for you today.
-
Okay, there's a lot of information I'm going to share, and I'm going
-
to share it very very quickly, valsably here for hours. But that's the
-
sense that God gave me to explain before we go through this thing. So
-
please have your hearts, hope and to our God to say to you,
-
and if you don't get what they have for now look at it. Afterwards.
-
You can listen to me again that's bizarre. Or you can look at
-
this, listen to the list, get the scription and just read them until
-
God gives you that nudge and said this one but on to show you from
-
this. Okay. Otherwise, what we do here is credit fireless because I
-
give it. I'll give a word, or Day gives us. It gives
-
a word which is there to build you up. It's spiritual food. You
-
know, after we're done here, we'll go get some lunch. If we
-
don't get some lunch after what that is any breath, we get thin and
-
get tired. You get us luggish. Spiritually speaking, it's the same thing.
-
We've got to take the word of God, which is our spiritual food,
-
and you've got to take it. You've got to chew it, or
-
about says, meditate on it, doesn't it? And so we get the
-
understanding out of it. So that's where God wants us to be today.
-
Is that? Okay? Okay, you've read thank you. That's just a
-
precursive The sorry started to preach because it was for you rather than for the
-
people. Okay, So the fundamentals of faith. For this bit we invite
-
you to speak to our hearts today and give us that understanding which gives us
-
a revelation of your word. But there won't be words on a page,
-
but there's something that is real to us in Jesus name. So I'm gonna
-
touch very quickly on six things. What is faith? We have faith?
-
What is the source of our faith? The love connection, the connection between
-
faith and pain and faith not fear. Okay, so it's going to be
-
quite quick. So the first thing is what is faith? The Bible says
-
the Hebrews eleven one. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for,
-
the evidence of things not seen. So faith is the substance or the
-
outcome of things we have hoped for. And that's not just oh I hope
-
it will come to pass. That's more earnest expectation that what God has said
-
in his word is going to be manifest in your life. Since if you're
-
believing God for a healing in your body or a financial miracle, and God's
-
showing you a scripture and said that scripture is going to get what you need.
-
Right now, that scripture becomes real to you, like just talk with
-
always started to preach and that it comes real to it just jumps off the
-
page to you. Before you might just read it through that or whatever.
-
But now it's like that becomes real to you, and that becomes a realm
-
of work to you, alive to you. You hang onto that Reema word
-
and you you speak that Reema word out, you believe it until that earnest
-
expectation gives you the evidence of what you're wanting, whether that's healing your body
-
or a financial miracle or wherever it is. Wherever it is, whatever that
-
miracle you need, that's what God will do. But it's taking a spiritual
-
principle. It's not following a set of rules. Right. It's not like
-
time my shoe lay says and that's how we do it. It's not rules,
-
it's spiritual principles which God has here. When we go to spiritual school
-
on the lea to work with spiritual spiritual principles, we don't learn how to
-
work. A spiritual principle is not going to work. You cannot copy what
-
somebody else did and get what you need. You need to get it from
-
the source yourself. If you don't get it from the source yourself, it
-
just becomes going through some motions and you don't get what God wants you to
-
get. And people do that and they make a mistake and they upset people
-
and hurt people because they just do this and it works. No, you
-
get hold of the word of God, God speaks to you, you believe
-
it, you persevere, and you get what God wants for you to get
-
to meet your need at that point, or to meet something other the need
-
at that point. And that's how it works. It's not following rules and
-
regulations. It's about we've going some big words. Now, it's about getting
-
it. It's about having a revelation of something then seeing the manifestation of that
-
something. Okay, she could say revelation and manifestation. And that's just about
-
what faith is. Faith is a spiritual force. Right. You can't go
-
down the shop and buy it. You can't bardon for it. It's a
-
spiritual force. That's just how it is. And that force connects us to
-
God. Right, it connects us to God. Ephesians two eight says,
-
for by grace, you have been saved through faith. That's not in yourself.
-
It's a gift from God. So far, for by grace, God's
-
grace you have been saved through faith, not yourself. It's a gift from
-
God. So faith is God's gift to us. Okay. Everyone likes gifts,
-
don't they. And my wife loves gifts. If she gets the gifts,
-
she cannot wait to see what's inside that gift. Is that for me?
-
No, for somebody else, Yes, it's for you, okay,
-
And something's very excited about getting the gift. Now it doesn't really work for
-
me. But I like you know, I don't. I'm giving gifts to
-
people. I don't get excited about stuff. I'm not an excitable person.
-
Some people get excited. I don't. I'm just fairly sort of like that.
-
Some people go, oh, I'm really excited. I go, good
-
for you. So when I give a gift, I give a gift because
-
I want to bless somebody. Some people get excited about giving gifts if you've
-
got the gift. If you've got the gift, that's not me. But
-
I do give a gift, and I expect when some jobs it to get
-
what they want to do because I know they want somebody, so give them
-
what they want. I don't. I don't guess what do you want?
-
I want this Okay, here you go. I'll not be the bisoness of
-
They don't want to do. So God gives us a gift, to give
-
us, the gift of faith, because it's what we need. It's not
-
let's say what we want, what we need because to work in God's world,
-
right, you've got to have faith. You don't have the faith it
-
gives, it doesn't work because God works by faith. In the world,
-
we transact with money used to be cash nowadays you know, you know and
-
place for this guy's it's it's a it's a touch of your card if you're
-
going to pay for something, or it's a transfer, isn't it on your
-
on your phone or your where have a device of God? But then the
-
transaction in the world is you know, we do either piece of paper or
-
electronic. God transacts with faith. When you're transact in the Kingdom of God,
-
you're transaction transacting with faith. That's the that's the vehicle. Okay Hebrews
-
eleven sixcess Without faith, it is impossible to please God. For he who
-
comes to God and must believe that he is. And it's a reward of
-
those who diligently seeking. But because God transacts with faith. We need to
-
have that faith in our lives. You know, He expects us to operate
-
in that faith. It's not some weird thing. It's just how God does
-
it. I didn't say to God, Okay, God, how we're going
-
to do this, said No, God works in a certain way. We
-
just plug into how He works and we just we just we just go with
-
that. Romans ten seventeen says, so faith comes by hearing, and hearing
-
by the word of God. So I said earlier, when God gives you
-
that word for you, specifically for your specific situation, which jumps out of
-
the page where He gives it to you, and you apply that word and
-
hold on to that word to you get what you want. And that's that's
-
the word of God, the spoken word. If you like. God gives
-
you that word and you hang on to that word. So it comes by
-
the word of God, because God's word is written by the Holy Spirit.
-
And there's faith in that book or faith in my phone. This is my
-
Bible right now. I don't carry the book are how much now because it's
-
big, and I just put the phone in my pocket. But the word
-
is alive and full of power. Actually operty beneafatize and effect is sharp and
-
the two age it sort patre into the byline of the soul and the spirit.
-
That's what it says in Hebrews. For yeah, it's alive. It's
-
not just the words on a piece of paper. It's real. It's God's
-
somebody says God's love letter to words. For me, it's like God's manual
-
about how we do life. You know, you get stuck when you're doing
-
something. You go into a search engine and you'll type in the details,
-
what is this? What is that? And it comes up with an answer.
-
God's answer is the Bible, as simple as that. So you have
-
to hold this bitter what they do here? Mate? Or do you hear
-
hold this bird? And I say, mate to the Lord? And you
-
get the answer simple as that. Well, we talk on this segment what
-
is faith. It's important to say that faith works by love Galatians five six.
-
All right, it works by love. That's just how God fixed it,
-
That's how God made it. And so I said, oh, it's
-
important that we operate in love.
