take care of your disabled babies, don't throw them away or leave them on

the street. To bring them here. The article went on to mention how

severely disabled some of these babies were, But I quote the article to pass

at the ad orphanage that he runs with his wife and small staff. As

it says on the back of the book, Brian traveled halfway around the world

to film the documentary The drop Offs, But God had even bigger plans.

In the midst of filming the plight of these abandoned and forgotten children, Brian

realized his own spiritual brokenness and his true identity as a child of God was

God's idea partially said that, in other words, it was God's dream.

On the surface of it, it was God's dream for these children. This

was just one man living in a poor area of a big city, with

no resources behind him, just an obedient, humble heart, and he said

yes to God's dream by faith. Somehow a journalist got hold of the story,

and God moved on the heart of this young student. Filmmaker and this

one man's vision to save babies led to the salvation of a young man who

know thousands of miles away. I really want to emphasize the difference that one

person can make with a God given dream. Our very own Juliet to set

up and managers have a father's house in Banda, an orphanage that also supports

widows, is a very clear example of this. Different people played different roles

in this true story about the drop box. The journalist who wrote the article

about it, the student come author now advertising at the back of the book

how to give to this project, those who supported the student in different ways,

and I will also mention his Christian high school friend who who also went

with him to UNI, who will no doubt to pray with him, talk

to him, etc. God alone knows the other ripple effects of his idea

to save babies, especially now it's been brought to a much larger audience for

a film and a book, even though the book at least is primarily about

Brian's own story. If anyone's interested in the copy of the book, I've

got some with me, please speak to me after the service. You may

not always know the part you're playing in God's dream, his dream for someone

else in particular. Sometimes it's just a case for prayerfully going about your ordinary,

everyday life, committing everything to God and praying you'll be in the right

place at the right time. That's something we do. We pray regularly,

and I've at least sometimes been aware of how God's answered. Just off the

top of my head, I can think of the conversations with a few non

Christians that I'm starting to get to know as a result, and how it's

prompted me to pray for them. It's not just a prayer, however long

or short. Let's remember who we're praying to, Almighty God, who made

heaven and earth and all that's in it, including my kind, who is

all powerful, all knowing, who is love and the source of life itself.

Praying, at least at this day, may primarily be the part that

God wants him to play in history and for these guys. The following is

a quote from the drop Box. It was all about being part of something

bigger than yourself, something potentially epic. Well, I've quoted this unte of

context. For me, this is what it means to be part of God's

dream He's always has the bigger picture in mind when a large part of the

time it's hard for us to think beyond our own comfort and fulfillment. I'm

not saying that the Lord has no interest in our comfort and fulfillment, because

I don't believe that. But he's always thinking of our growth too. He

knows what the focus and balance should be at any given time in terms of

our comfort, our fulfillment, and our growth. He is our loving father,

the one perfect parent. Knowing receiving God's love for us is a really

important part of trusting him and his dreams for us other streams that we may

have for ourselves. This brings me to our primary scripture for today, which

is John fifteen, verse sixteen, and I'm reading from the NIV translation.

That's John fifteen, verse sixteen. You did not choose me, but I

chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit

that will lost, and so that whatever you ask in my name, the

Father will give you. As Jesus says here, you did not choose me,

but I chose you. I believe that the Lord wants me to repeat

that, because more than one person needs to receive this Jesus is saying to

you, you did not choose me, but I chose you. Receive it

by faith. You don't need to feel it to believe it. You don't

need to feel it for it to be true. It's true because Jesus said

it. Yes, therefore you can go ahead and believe it by faith and

receive it by faith. John fifteen sixteen. You did not choose me,

but I chose you and appointing you. The amplified version adds he has place

and purposeles want to you. You may feel like, for whatever reason,

you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe you made a mistake,

maybe somebody wronged you, and you're living with the consequences, and it

certainly doesn't feel like God's stream feeling. I'm challenged by John's situation when we

received what we know as the Book of Revelation. According to Revelation one nine,

John was exiled on the Greek island of pat Moos for preaching the word

of God and the most testimony about Jesus. According to the NIV Cultural Background

Study, Bible romans often punish people by banishing them, most frequently to islands

to limit the opportunity for escape. Pat Moss had a great gymnasium and a

cult of Artemis. Whatever the level of interest the Jim held for John below

zero is anything like our Julia and Artemis, the goddess of wild animals,

the hunt, vegetation, chastity, and childbirth would have been of even less

interest to John. It would have probably been quite a spiritually dark pace.

We don't know how God provided for John Loss who was in exile, but

we do know that, regardless of his circumstances, God shared a vision with

John for all my kind for eternity that became part of God's internal living word.

John was in exile and was in the spirit when he had a vision.

Different translations help explain that term in the spirit for those not familiar with

it. For example, a state of deep spiritual communion with God and John

speak about himself and he says, I came under the Spirit's power. John

was in exile, but it didn't stop him from being in the Spirit,

and it certainly didn't stop the Lord from sharing profound revelation with him. That

tells me that our circumstances will not despomify us from God's plans and purposes.

His dreams for us. John was in exile and was entrusted with visions and

writing them down that became part of God's eternal word. Daniel was taken as

a slave to a foreign country, to Babylon, but his spirit of excellence

and the wisdom which guided his behavior caused the Lord to promote him to replace

a huge influence and responsibility as governor over the whole province of Babylon. Daniel

and his friends would have therefore brought God's influence to them in what must have

otherwise been quite a spiritual health whole. God's dream for Daniel and his friends

was part of a much bigger picture, but I'm sure was less than clear

when they were first taken captain that they still chose faithfulness to God and excellence.

Esther was beautiful and an author brought up by her uncle, but ended

up as a queen who used her position to save her people the Jews.

These are just a few of the well known examples. But what about the

slave girl to nameless Mistress. She's not even named in the Bible, but

was fully known to God. Namon was a highly regarded commander in Tirynami who

also had lefasy. This story is in Two Kings, chapter five. A

young Israelite girl was taking captain and forced to be a made Tonymon's wife.

She told Name his wife about Jelisha the prophet and said he could heal Maymon's

leposy. Elisha told Naman what he needed to do, and Namon was healed.

Was it God's best for her to be a slave? No, of

course not. Slavery is wrong. But God actually used her circumstances, her

relationship with her mistress to bring about eternal good. Why do I say that

because her actions the actions of an unnamed slave girl are mentioned in God's eternal

word everything. They're there to teach us forever. What does it say of

her character that her mistress actually listened to her too. If someone is working

for you and the character is such that you don't respect their opinion, you're

not going to listen to them with regard to the health of someone you love,

and the opposite is true. Also, God can work in us and

through us and bring about good despite our circumstances, even if they're not God's

best. For whatever reason. What part can you pretend you play in someone

else's dream whilst God is working behind the scenes to prepare what's necessary for yours.

Bringing about good is always God's dream because He's loved. Maybe you're just

not loving life at the moment, or it's all a bit mundane, but

you're not necessarily in the wrong place. I love the story of Rebeccah,

Abraham's great niece and Isaac's second cousin, were told about her in Genesis twenty

four. Abraham had been looking for a wife for his son Isaac, though

he was unwilling for Isaac to marry a Canaan knight. Abraham and his family

were living in Canaan at the time, so Abraham sent his servant to his

own kinsman to find a wife for Isaac. The servant came to a weld

and prayed that God would given him success in this mission. Specifically, he

prayed for which every young woman provided water for him and his cannels would be

God's choice to be Isaac's wife. That's a very specific prayer. As the

servant was praying, along came Rebeccah, a beautiful young virgin, who not

only gave the servant a drink, but also drew water for his camels.

I'm guessing. Look for Rebeccah. When she woke up that morning, it

was just another day. She went out to get water from the well in

the evening, as the woman did, she treated a stranger as no doubt

her upbringing and maybe her character had taught her constituting good manners. In doing

so, she took her place in God's dream, his brave planned for her

life, which was the part she was to play in his bigger picture.

This is when her life story entered God's internal word to guide and teach us

forever. I doubt that thought's ever crossed her mind. God means of us

in the all great, everyday parts of our lives. He can show up

in the spectacular, and he can show up in the ordinary. We really

don't know all that God has in mind for us. But when we're faithful

at the everyday level, doing what we know to do, that opens the

door for the lot to make her way where maybe there is no manual way

for us to fulfill His dreams for us. John fifteen sixteen. You did

not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you. He has placed

and purposely granted him. We can stand on this because it's God's word.

We can believe it and receive it before we see it by faith. We

can believe it and receive it before we see it by faith, And so

want to remember that God has a dream for us, and it's part of

a much bigger picture than we don't see. There are a number of scriptures

that I could use to illustrate this, but this is one of my favorites,

Ephesians to ten and a reading from the Christian Standard Bible that's Ephesians to

ten. For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good wi words

which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. For we are His

workmanship created in Christ Jesus, the good work which God prepared ahead of time

for us to do. Do we want to fulfill His dreams for us,

don't we? Sometimes it can be helpful to look at the first in different

versions to help us to not only understand it better, but also to think

about it for longer, which obviously means it will have more impact on us.

Ephesians two ten in the Complete Jewish Bible says, for we are God's

making, created in union with the Messiah, issuer for a life of good

actions already prepared by God for us to do the new living plans. Station

says, for we are God's masterpiece. You are God's master. He has

created us in you, in Christ Jesus, you can do the things He

planned for us long ago. John fifteen sixteen. You did not choose me,

but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and their

fruit, fruit that will last. God chose you and me for a purpose

to go their fruit to do stuff of lasting value. God chose us as

individuals to be part of his bigger trip picture. This is his dream for

us. Fruit that will last will have something to do with love. Brian

Ivy in the drop Box says, I'd studied love, I'd read keys,

I'd seen has a blanker and gone with the wind. Remember he was a

book student. But I've never seen love like past to these love to be

broken for locking children. It was a love that honestly looked a lot dirtier

and a lot less fun than I thought it should. As I understand it,

Fruit that will last will have something to do with love, because it

says in one proof is thirteen to thirteen. Now these three remain faith,

hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. These three

remain, they will endure, they will last. I would like to suggest

that the fruit that will last. Whatever we do that is at lasting value

will be motivated by love. Faith and hope will more than likely be involved

and love definitely. I don't believe I should go into this too much today,

but just briefly remember that Jesus said that the greatest of God's commandments is

love. In Matthew twenty two, thirteen seventy thirty nine. The essentially says,

love God, love others, love yourself, John fifteen sixteen. You

did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you

might go over a fruit, fruit that will ask, and so that whatever

you ask him my name, the Father will give you. This is all

part of God's dream for you and the name. Jesus clearly wants us to

come to the Father, our heavenly Father, and ask him his name,

and our heavenly Father wants to give to us. What if you've asked about

your dream and not yet heard from heaven. There are a number of different

responses to this, but the one the Lord wants me to speak about today

is one thing that might stop us receiving God's answer to our care. I

say God's answer because it might not be our idea of how we'd like him

to answer. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's prayed and God's answer

but not how I wanted him to. Joyce Meyer, a Christian author and

speaker, said the following, which I find helpful. Although she said it

regarding seeking God's wisdom in the situation, the principle is easy apply to seeking

Him about our dreams. Sometimes the Lord gives us the wise answer of the

tongue, which has been from a sixteen verse, one from our own lips.

I learned this truth when I was in a situation where I didn't know

what to do on my own thoughts left me confused. I was not getting

anywhere with my circumstances until I took a walk with a friend. I was

facing a major decision but needed a Godly answer, but I could not find

God's leading. My friend and I discuss the issue for about an hour as

we walked together, enjoying the fresh air in each Thomas's company. This is

when I learned that sometimes wisdom comes under our own mouths, as we begin

to talk to someone about a situation. We talked about the circumstances and discussed

several different possible solutions and their potential outcomes. Suddenly, one particular answer subtle

in my heart. What I decided I needed to do was not something that

I naturally wanted to do. A stubborn mindset is a great enemy of the

peace. Some of my struggle with because I wanted to convince God that my

situation should be dealt with differently from the way he was leading me, his

voice was difficult to discern because my mind was already set against his plan.

I think that's really helpful for us. We aware of this sometimes who may

have difficulty discerning that's voice if our minds are already set against his plan.

It's so important to recognize if this is the case. And asked God to

help us to let go of our on in whole views in a situation and

be open to hear of his From the sixteen verse three in the classic amplified

version says, roll your works upon the Lord, commit and trust them wholly

to him. You will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will,

and so shall your plans be established and succeeded. Notice that while the answer

came through Joyce's own LIGs, her friend had a part to play by acting

as a sounding board. We may not necessarily be or have the answer to

a situation, but we may have a part to play, and that ants

are coming forth. I've really felt prompted to keep touching on this. The

part we can plain someone else's dream. Helping someone else to fulfill their dream

can take so many different forms and can be a real pleasure and privilege.

I appreciate that they can also be hard work, but it wasn't for me.

On one particular occasion, I was talking to a guy and knew fairly

well who worked in finance in a care home. He told me that for

years his dream had been to go to Jordan. Simon and I had actually

been to Jordan the year before, so I told him about it. It

was wonderful to see his face changed change as he realized that his dream could

become a reality. I told him about the practical side of it, which

company we'd used, and so on, but he still had to take a

step the courage even to go because he was relatively recently divorced, and it

made going on his own. He did it, and it was special for

him. It was lovely to hear about it when he got back, although

I also remembered him saying that he missed trimming along his voice. But dreams

don't always look like you think they will or they should. They're not necessarily

perfect. But that's okay. In this guy's case, I guess it reinforced

the message that dreams can come true, they can become a reality, and

he can do it on his own. My part was just telling him that

it was possible. On something of the practical side. John fifteen sixteen.

You did not choose me, but I chose you when appointed you to go

and bear fruit through the will mass, and so that whatever you ask in

my name the Father will give you now just the purpose which we've been chosen

by Jesus to be fruitful, to bear lasting fruit, and for a real

relationship with our heavenly Father, one of dependency upon him and confidence to ask

him whatever in Jesus his name. That's what we were born for. That's

what we were born again for the last point I'd like to make is that

it's important I'm right when you pray about the future, God's dreams, his

plans and purposes for us. But whilst we're awaiting answers, while we're awaiting

God's timing, let's not lose sight of the value God places on us being

faithful where we are. Inconsistency character is built. Just briefly thinking about how

the deacons were chosen. As accounted in Acts chapter six, the apostles were

needing to focus on their ministry, which was prayer and teaching and breaching the

world of God. But with the increasing number of disciples, then the need

to distribute food aid to those widows who needed it, and it was too

much for the apostles to keep doing this role this role as well. So

in chapter six, verse three, they said to all the disciples, select

out from among us else seven men of good and then tested character full of

the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may assigned to look after this business

and duty. It's over time that we get a reputation being good or bad.

In this case good and being full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom.

God clearly places a lot of value on us being faithful where we are,

and at the right time will assign roles for us. According me as I

said earlier, knowing and receiving God's love for us is a really important part

of trusting Him for dreams for us as well as dreams will make up for

ourselves. It's also a really important part of trusting Him with as yet unfulfilled

dreams. What if you've asked about your dream and not yet heard from Heaven.

Let me encourage you to not get despondent, but to continue. Just

trust in God's love to be faithful where you are, and you take hold

of this promise of God for yourself. I truly believe this is what God

is saying to you, and that He wanted me to finish with this as
