Reason. We're looking at mission for the month of November, and Simon's going
-
to come and share with us. I'll just pray and then I'll hand over
-
to Simon. Father, God, thank you that we can get around your
-
word. Lord. We're looking forward to your word today. Father, thank
-
you for the time that Simon is given to prepare and download from your God.
-
Father. I pray that you'd fill him. And Lord, you'd speak
-
to us. O God Father, I pray that you'd you'd change us.
-
And so, Father, let our ears be open. Our we say,
-
our ears open, our hearts are ready to hear from you. O God
-
speak, O God, be praying Jesus name, oh Man, Simon m
-
M money my name or vertically challenged. But the other way. So,
-
as Dave said, the subject for this month is mission and smort this morning,
-
we're going to be talking about mission walking in the power of God.
-
It's a mission walking in the power of God. Now, if I said
-
to everyone mission, I don't know what scripture pops into your mind, But
-
what popped into my mind was Mark sixteen, which says, this is the
-
new King Jason, the new King James version go into all the world and
-
preach the Gospel to every creature. You believe, and his baptized will be
-
saved. But he does not believe, be condemned. And these signs will
-
follow those who believe in my name. They will cast out demons, they
-
will speak with new tons. That's Mark sixteen, fifteen to seventeen. Notice
-
Jesus called us to go to share the good news, the gospel. But
-
when we go need to go in His power and his strength. We go
-
without that, don't bother going. The works of man come to nothing.
-
The work of God last forever. Zachariah four and verse six says, not
-
by might nor by power. By spirit, says the Lord. Not by
-
might nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord. Jesus
-
was full of controlled, led and directed by the Holy Spirit, Mark four
-
four. So look for forth, and that's how we need to be when
-
we go. We've been equipped, but that equipping comes through the Holy Spirit.
-
We need to be like Jesus when he walked on the earth, he
-
was fully equipped, fully connected. He only did what he saw the Father.
-
Do you only spoke what he saw what he heard the Father speak.
-
It's a big ass when you think about it. Some of us could be
-
a blam of ours. You know, not ready to listen before we speak,
-
but to flow with the Holy Spirit. We need to listen and then
-
to speak. And that's something that you need to learn, something you need
-
to grow into. It's all about a relationship. In fact, you could
-
say in relationship is the power. When you have the relationship, then there's
-
a manifestations of power. The relationship, no power. It's as simple as
-
that. Really. Anyway, that's a part of seven. So what I
-
want to do today, what we want to do today is a look at
-
John six. I'm just going to read John six. It's not on the
-
slide day, but I think I'm gonna reading. I'm reading from the you
-
can change version. I'm reading from verse one, which is about the feeding
-
of the five thousand. After these things, Jesus went over the Sea of
-
Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberius. Then a great multitude followed him
-
because they saw his signs, which he performed on those who were diseased.
-
And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
-
Now the passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. Then
-
Jesus lifted up his eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward him,
-
he said to Philip, where should we buy bread that these may eat?
-
This is said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
-
Philip answered him, two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for
-
them, that every one of them may have a li. One of his
-
disciples, Andrew Simon, Peter's brother, said to him as a lad,
-
here was five barley of those and two small fish. What are they among
-
so many? And Jesus said, make the people sit down. Now there
-
was much grass in the place. So the men sat down in number about
-
five thousand, and Jesus took the those. When he given thanks, he
-
shipsued them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down and likers
-
of the fish as much as they wanted. So when they were filled,
-
he said to his disciples, gather up the fragments that remained, so that
-
nothing is lost. Therefore they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with the
-
fragments of the five bard, those which are left over by those had eaten.
-
Hyeah, m hm, So let's have a look at verse two.
-
John six. Verse two. Then a great Viltu followed him because they saw
-
the signs which he performed, and those who were diseased. When we walk
-
in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus did, signs and w
-
will follow, and that will draw people. We have a God shaped home
-
in our lives and we try to fill it with other things, but nothing
-
satisfies. You see people in the world try many different things to fill that
-
gap, many adrenaline fixers, jumping out of aeroplanes, doing a lot of
-
strange things to fill that hole. But when we're exposed to the power and
-
the presence of God, that draws us and there's like a divine connection that
-
the whole that we've got. God knows the size of that hole and he
-
fills that hole. There's a design connection. There's an opportunity to be made
-
home, and that's what Jesus deadly drew people, and he made them home.
-
When we go into all the world to treat the gospel, it's not
-
about sharing the message only that Jesus, the Son of God, that he
-
died and rose again. It's about making people home. It's about meeting their
-
physical needs and sharing the gospel. Jess was sitting with the disciples on the
-
mountain when he saw the people coming towards him. The Bible says five thousand
-
in this in John, but if you look into the versions of the other
-
gospels it says plus women and children. So five thousand men plus women and
-
children. So I let you do the maths that it's more than five thousand
-
people. Notice when Andrew said to him, I found a lad here with
-
five by the thaves and two small fish. But what are they too?
-
What are they to feed all these people? He didn't respond in the negative.
-
He responded in faith. And now we do anything in the Kingdom of
-
God, we need to respond in faith. The King James vers, just
-
go yee, and when we go ye into all the world, he needs
-
to be in faith. H h. You know God has never phased by
-
numbers. He used what's in our hand. And in this instance, the
-
young boy or the young lad was obviously Yorkshire, gave him his five byle
-
loods and two small fish. I mean a five barley load. If research
-
it was a tiny little cake a way for thin. It's for a small
-
small lad and the fish are probably a small broiled fish. It wasn't it
-
wasn't It wasn't a feast. It was literally to feed a little lad m
-
hm. You know, whether you're giving or whether you're going, never underestimate
-
what's in your hand. Mhm. The bow says, we've got all things
-
that are possible. Even the smallest seed can bring about the biggest harvest.
-
Jesus stayed in faith. When they responded to Andrew, he didn't respond to
-
him. He just said, make the people sit down. And when when
-
we operate in faith, we do not look at our circumstances, look at
-
the bigness of our God. We mustn't be moved by what we see.
-
We only be moved by the word of God and what God says. God
-
says, do it. You do it in the faith, in the power
-
of the Holy Spirit. It's not by might, it's not by power.
-
It's by my spirit. Say to the Lord. If you're not connected to
-
the sauce, there's going to be no flow of power. Can be like
-
a damn squib John six eleven, Oh, my God. And Jesus took
-
the lows, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to the
-
disciples, and disciples to those sitting down, and lifers of the fish as
-
much as they wanted. She's broke the bread. What was the bed a
-
high break, a small fish? I'm not really sure. But he wrote
-
the small fish then handed it to twelve disciples, and they handed it to
-
the crowds, and as a miracle of multipican that went on. God broke
-
the power of natural law. He broke it and then multiplied. If I
-
did that that stuff that's on that desk over there for communion, you know,
-
without the anointing upon me, he'd just be broken into interns of the
-
two bits before bits, the Jesus was working under the anointing. He was
-
working with the Holy perier. He was cooperating with the Holy prayer. He
-
only did what he saw the Father doing. He only spoke what he heard
-
the Father. And so this is what God has spoken to him. He
-
wasn't phased by the five thousand people. He wasn't phased by the challenge.
-
He knew the bigness of his garden. He walked in faith, and we
-
see a miracle. First twelve says. So when they were filled, he
-
said, the disciples gathered the fragments that remains, so that nothing is lost,
-
isn't it interesting, God said, Jesus said, when he said when
-
they were filled, there are five thousand men plus women plus children, so
-
at least ten thousand people plus kids. And he said when they were filled.
-
God is a god of abundance. He's not got a just enough set
-
of our life to the full in abundance, to the over flows. John
-
ten ten. God is the God of abundance. They eight, they were
-
filled, they were satisfied. Have a meal and just have enough, but
-
to be satisfied. When you work for God and you're working in the Holy
-
Spirit, you will be filled. You will be satisfied. You will need
-
to go without. God is a god of abundance. You know, we
-
are part of this world. We're in this one. Sorry, but we're
-
not part of this world system. We're in this world, but we're not
-
part of this world system. So what I mean by that is, don't
-
be concerned by what you read or what you see or what you're here.
-
If you will live in God's kingdom, if you operate in God's principles,
-
there will be no lack. We cast our minds back to one kings and
-
you live. Joab and the woman with the oil and the meal which probably
-
with the older rants at the time when we pitched uff got cleaned that up.
-
And for the duration of the throughout, which just three and a half
-
years they had, and then the limited supply of oil and then the limits
-
to fly of meal to make the cakes. There's no lack in the Kingdom
-
of God. But we need to be connected to the sauce. Stay connected
-
to the sauce, and God will take what's in our hands and they'll multiply
-
it. So when God asked us to give, let's give what's in our
-
hand. H that's the person I know, and I mentioned his name,
-
but it was in a service. And God said, give so much.
-
And he started the sweat of it and said, that's all I've got.
-
He said, I know, so putting the offering, gave what was into
-
it's a world mission. And God multiplied that seed. I'm saying, to
-
give what you got in your hand. The young boy gave what I had
-
in iside. He gave his lunch. She has multiplied that lunch and we
-
got twelve basket falls of bread. Noticed there was no fish there the novel
-
of the fish, but the bread was left over. It's interesting, you
-
know, the fish went where the bread didn't, So they filled upon the
-
bread, but the fish pish leftover. That that's quite interesting. When we're
-
connected to the source, we're connected to the Holy Spirit. When we're cooperating
-
with the Holy Spirit, we'll see God's power change people's lives and set people
-
free. You know, it's not the look of a man, it's the
-
work of the Holy Spirit. You need to recognize that truth and cooperate with
-
the Holy Spirit. God wants to take us deeper in a relationship. So
-
whether you're going to the end of the street into testgoth or into Waitrose,
-
whether you going to the end of the earth like Uganda smiles of it,
-
it doesn't matter what matters you go in the power. HM, no relationship,
-
no power to takes a bit of challenge. Really, let's to where
-
are you h You know we can we can stay at stale this nice stuff
-
Pike show on the back, go home, have a cup of tea or
-
coffee and launch into our week. There still people out there doing the hell
-
every day every day. Unless we walk in the power. Let's have that
-
relationship, unless we give up to give it. Let's reach out. Took
-
a step for open hearted things want to change. I will start with that,
-
doesn't it It's very convening to see here are the nice, warm seats
-
and that's about seven mate, Well done, thank you san. However,
-
you know there's a reality, isn't there you know? Mhm. So I'll
-
be heavy about it. Just just this is the facts of life in the
-
Kingdom of God. When you're in, you're in, you walk the walk,
-
you apply your faith. But we're here to bring our people for the
-
kingdom ally and then to build those people up and look Lord, and to
-
say this morning that all things are possible. To belit. You may have
-
some impossibilities in your life today, but God says all things are possible.
-
Don't look at the bigness of your circumstance. Look at the bigness of your
-
God. Other words, stretch to it, fly your faith, don't give
-
up, press through, press through until you get the picture, until you
-
win, and we'll have a circumstance as situation. That is, then give
-
glory to God that it's not the work of a man. It's the work
-
of the Holy Spirit. This is just a flesh and blood body, that's
-
all it is. It's the Holy Spirit within us. We're earth and vessels
-
full the Godly treasure. So if that's you stretch to it, do not
-
look at the bigness of that problem. Look at the bigness of your God.
-
And God will overcome. God will I'll recome. That's that's how it
-
is. You press it and God will not let you down. But don't
-
quit. If you quit, it won't work to repentancetart again. But God
-
will give you that chance opportunity now, a chance. You don't do things
-
by a chance. We need to be like Jesus, full of control,
-
lead and directed by the Holy Spirit. H think I'll leave it there,
-
but let's pray. So you've got a need, I go to prayer that
-
God meets with the point of your need. And then well, I know
-
today from the communion. That's whether listening up, listening online now or later.
-
At least your faith and believe God for the impossible, the whether that's
-
as all things are possible to those who believe. Where it's a broken marriage,
-
a broken relationship, something that works, something with a family situation,
-
and save love one, all things are possible God. M hm. Let's
-
pray together, and I release my faith, release your faith for your situation.
-
Don't say the lack of pump on a log. Focus and release your
-
faith and trust God to do something. Let's do it together. So pat
-
the namage is, I pray, are the people in this room, people
-
listening online, peas looking, people listening later, that you meet them at
-
the point of their need, Lord, wherever that specific need is. That.
-
I believe Father, You're a God of abundance, You're a God of
-
the impossible. Nothing is impossible for you. So I'm trusting that to work
-
in these people's situations. Work in these people's circumstances, Father, in Jesus'
-
name, and turning each situation around for God, Lord, bring about a
-
miraculous change in people's lives. Father in Jesus name, I believe it and
-
receive it now in the name of Jesus. Hmm. Thanks Simon. Walk
-
in the power of God, walk in with what He has placed in your
-
hands. You're going to come around communion in a moment. So for those
-
at home, please encourage you to get your communion elements ready. For those
-
in the room, they should be on the table in front of you.
